i was rewatching buster posey's retirement video tonight for purposes and getting emotional every time his voices catches, like boy (me). they literally rehired him a month ago, he is literally running this entire giants organization at this very moment, It Is Literally Fine. i think a lot about sorrel saying buster posey is my blorbo bc i really had never thought of him as my blorbo but it is true that if you are crying at work over buster posey's retirement (circa 2021), you've gone so far past being normal about that old man. not even in like yaoi way yk like i have enjoyed a few dynasty era giants fics in my time but at the end of the day it's like that's my family lmao. that's buster posey, we came of age together...

i think for me the giants are always gonna be The Team, like the one team, and the reason i know this is less bc i want them to win every game (they Will Not) but bc no other team on planet earth can make me feel such a broad spectrum of emotions. not in a way where i get sore about them losing bc hello it's the giants lol but like the complicated emotions that come from being way too deep in it. like for me giants baseball is not even about winning or losing, it's just like...living

i am a synthv user primarily because 1) i was always kind of a moresampler main on utau already :3c and 2) i am easily swayed by affordable pricing and extremely user friendly interfaces BUT the one problem with synthv studios focus on realism is how instead of just distorting vocals that are too high or low out of range, instead they just get breathier and REALLY quiet, you can get around it okay with parameter shenanigans but thats one think i really prefer about voisona and utau or sv editor - this is purely a preference thing, but I do love putting a synth far below its range and have it still functional (albeit robotic) LIKE go into c2. i know you sound like a broken jackhammer. go into c2.

i love my family so much. @actuallylukedanes had plans to go with their spouse to the state fair yesterday, and i planned to use my alone time to work on projects. but when i idly mentioned that i wished i could go to the fair too, because smaller local fairs were an essential and literally-every-year part of my life growing up, my best friend said there was no reason i couldn't--and their spouse's reaction to the idea was to be enthusiastically in support.

these two people, my own chosen family, not only gave me a ride so i could enjoy the day, but spent as much of it with me as possible just because we could all have fun together. and they never once made it seem like i was crashing their couple time, and when i chose to try and walk the grounds rather than using a mobility device (like i do during zoo visits that make leander happy) they never once treated me like i couldn't handle it and enforce my own limits or like i was dragging everything down by needing breaks.

so this is just an appreciation post for my people, who were happy to invite me at the last minute for a day of sun and strangers and entertainment and curly fries and testing my limits. it was nice to be reminded that i'm capable of more than my everyday routine, and also to be reminded of the way i used to live, that i miss. spontaneous plans, and trading spoons for experiences without regretting it, and not assuming that i need to stay home while everyone else does things (or assuming that i should avoid being around two people who don't get a lot of time together, cuz i don't want to bother them).
