vernon + tit worship? uh-huh, i can totally see that working, you wouldn’t expect him to be so into anything specific at first, but that’s exactly where he'd catch you off guard. he'd be all calm, eyes tracing down, and then bam—he's fixated. no rush or anything, just pure, steady focus on your chest like it’s the only thing that exists in that moment.

and the thing with vernon is he wouldn’t just be hands-on right away. he’s gonna take his time. maybe you’re sitting there, minding your own business, and suddenly his eyes keep darting to your chest. you can almost feel him thinking about it, the way he drags it out like he’s figuring out how he’s gonna approach this, and you’re just like... waiting. he’s def the type to make you wait, to see if you’ll notice and tease him about it, and when you do, maybe you get that little half-smirk. 'cause you’re catching onto him but he's still playing it cool.

he likes the way you breathe, the way your body shifts, all that. and vernon’s got those long fingers too, so he’d definitely know how to work them, like tracing them up and over, maybe even a little bit teasing—just because he can, and he knows how you’re gonna react.

he’s not loud about it either. vernon’s not that dude who’s gonna be talking dirty the whole time. it’s more like low, muttered stuff, if anything, just the occasional 'yeah,' or maybe an 'mmm, you like that?' but it’s almost under his breath, 'cause he’s too focused on what he's doing. it’s less about what he says and more about how he acts. feel me?

oh, and don’t even get me started on when he uses his mouth. like, at first, it’s all teasing, lips barely brushing, tongue just flicking enough to get you to squirm, and you just know he’s enjoying watching you squirm too. and he’s patient as hell. like, vernon’s not gonna rush into it, he’s gonna savor that shit. he knows what you want, but he’s gonna drag it out until you’re practically begging. when he’s finally mouthing at your chest, those lazy, long sucks that have you arching into him, ‘cause you can’t take how focused he is. and you can’t even be mad about it either, ‘cause it’s so damn good. and it’s that whole vibe of him being soft and focused but also kinda cocky with it, ‘cause he knows the effect he’s having. like, he’s not the type to be all loud and obnoxious about it, but there’s a quiet confidence there. he might throw in a smirk every now and then, just 'cause he can tell you’re into it.

this isn’t just some one-off thing either. with vernon, it feels almost... personal? like, he’s making it all about you, and you can feel that. he’s locked in, tuned into how your body’s reactingg, how u r breathing, every little shift, and he’s playing off that. it’s intense in this quiet way, but damn, it works. so yeah, vernon + tit worship? 10/10, for sure. there’s no way that man isn’t turning that into a whole-ass experience every time. long story short: he’s chill, he’s focused, and he’s definitely making sure you’re feeling every second of it.

hey chrissy! I’ve been doing the ROE technique and the 3DOL it’s day 4 and I haven’t gotten anything. Today I woke up and I feel like shit since I’m still here living this life. I tried saturating my mind for the past few days idk if I failed because when I’d affirm I’d lose focus then after a few minutes I’d remember then I’d affirm again and the pattern continues. I was so confident yesterday that I’d wake up in the void but I didn’t and I will persist but it just hurts to affirm. I’m starting to feel like I don’t deserve this or something but I’ll keep persisting. Idk if it’s my affirmations or if my intrusive thoughts impressed my subconscious because whenever I unintentionally think about school and my deadline and just this life as a whole and “what if nothing happens?” “What if this is all fake?” “What if I wake up here again?” I literally feel my stomach turn and my heart sink and it’s so annoying but I keep affirming. My question is if my intrusive thoughts are impressing mu subconscious which is why I keep failing because if it is then I’m fucked💀 because I feel nice when I visualise my life afterwards and affirm waking up in the void but I always feel the most whenever I think the opposite. Normally I manifest small things I don’t give a shit about but it’s normally me affirming not feeling anything at all and then I imagine the idea of that thing happening and then I forget about it. But i feel like if I forget about the void I’ll never ever achieve it and my life is falling apart. I’ve been reading success stories that have to do with affirming and they were lucky enough to do it in a short span and I’m just scared for myself overall and idk if I will be able to as well. I think you just lose focus😭but it's fine I had an anon who was also was suffering with the same issue because she have adhd and anxiety but after a month she dm me again saying she entered void. What helped her is doing a 3 minute breathwork before her her saturation session and doing eft tapping whenever negative thoughts start to distract her,it took her a week but she never no matter what or how much anxiety she had let 3D lead her. If you felt like it's not gonna work then take at 15 minutes and let yourself feel those emotions,then take a deep breath and go for affirming or deciding. I read a post by a blogger saying that.

And never ever think that you don't deserve void then you are absolutely wrong,because you are void,when we sleep we're in void it's just we are not aware of it. You are literally sinning if you ere not letting yourself have the desire. You must remember that desire or thing or void didn't have any meaning to it until you decided to give it all the power and keeping it in pedestal,if you didn't know about void it wouldn't even exist in your reality. So I am kind of frustrated and at this point I feel like everything is illusion. So actually everytime I try to enter the void my body goes numb and not focusing on those symptoms I keep doing the method therefore it's stays there for second minutes and hours . your body going numb means it’s falling asleep which is the process that makes you go into the void state (body asleep, mind awake)

after your body falls asleep don’t focus on it at all and forget it exists. focus on your affirmations or method

after a bit also stop focusing too hard on your affirmations and let yourself go. I’m kinda bad at explaining, but the thing is, after your body falls asleep stop focusing so hard and just know you’ll wake up in the void. if you focus too hard on your method your mind will be too hyper aware which makes you think nothing works then you want to give up (talking from experience). like you want to be aware but not too aware

like while doing your method you can’t just sit there hyper aware waiting to go into the void state, you’re still too grounded into the physical world. you need to learn how to let go/let your mind wander. a bit after starting your affirmations, stop focusing on them and let your mind wander. I know I’m repeating myself but I just want to let you know how simple it is 😭

TW: I spent 3 years now trying to enter the void state. Since then, my life only has gotten worse and worse. At this rate, I’m extremely desperate and depressed. I just cry every day cause I basically failed my life. I got kicked out of college, lost my job, lost my friends after a huge sexual abuse incident (the guy was close to my group of high school friends and he twisted the story around to make it seem like I was insane) and my abuser didn’t get arrested. I just want to fucking unalive myself and to stop crying myself to sleep

I’ve been reading your success story over and over and over to motivate myself to enter. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I keep falling asleep, or it takes me literally hours of nothing every night and I’m so sad. I just want my fucking sexual abuser to go to jail and my friends to hear my side

first of I’m so sorry you had to go through all that. I started my void state journey in 2020 so I also know what it’s like to feel stuck and like it’ll never work but trust me it will. I think the thing I struggled with the most was that I was using the void as more of an escape or like the end-all-be-all because of how much I was putting it on a pedestal. I feel like once you realize that the power is within you and it’s YOU who’s is manifesting your desires not “the void state.”

Another thing I struggled with was forcing myself and putting a time limit on myself and that was just way too much pressure so I would get so distracted when tapping in and then I would get lazy or tired or I would tell myself that I’d do it tomorrow and that just wasn’t good for me at all.

If your problem is falling asleep I suggest you listen to a “wake up in the void” subliminal and affirm that you will wake up in the void. Or I would suggest the lucid dreaming method. I’ve had a lot of lucid dreams over these past 3 years and I never took advantage of that but I think if you start taking the steps to start lucid dreaming you will find great success. I would suggest keeping a dream journal and then also found the WBTB method, those work best for me but I also think you should find what works best for you.

I really hope this was helpful. And I hope you get Justice because you deserve it. Remember to just keep going. If the void wasn’t real and you didn’t believe in it you would’ve given up a long time ago. There’s something in you that knows it exists because it does so just keep trying :)

As for how I make my AUs/how I approach AUs,,, honestly I think I’ve just consumed so much content in my youth plus my aspirations to work in the animation industry have made me kind of understand storytelling to a degree, so I think it’s fun to take some ideas from content I like and change it to make a whole new story

Like for AT AU obviously there is no Adventure Time character that will perfectly align personality wise with a member of Ateez, so instead of wildly changing someone to force them into the exact role of Princess Bubblegum for example, or make someone Jake, I just take ideas from the series that I really enjoyed (post apocalypse, magic, cursed character, platonic familial relationships complicated backstories and potentially morally grey characters) and then let that inspire me to relate it to in this case, Ateez.

For Mafia au I had a lot of help brainstorming that but I think the root of ideas comes from maybe like. I see a picture and I do a doodle. Then my brain thinks of other things I kind of know/want to see within that world. I drew Jongho and Mingi in mafia au before anyone else and before it was a big au with fics to go with it. After the drawing I kept having more ideas and then @nnnnnnnothingtoseehere had ideas and suddenly it grew. I watched a lot of mafia/crime movies/series during the pandemic tbh so I had lots of inspiration. AUs like this are fun cus while AT AU directly is inspired by a pre-existing series, this AU is just based on an idea and there are a bunch of sources of inspiration!

Then for my Cowboy au that’s kind of like. My own little project. I’m kind of thinking I may eventually change designs around to make it not an au but an original “project” just for something to put in my portfolio. Of if people really liked it maybe I’d do something with it. But sometimes the beauty of an AU over an original project is people already know and love the characters which takes a lot of the work presenting new characters and hoping people enjoy them. Anyways, yea for this AU as it is rn, it’s just born out of my love for the western aesthetic. Also during the pandemic I watched a ton of spaghetti westerns as well as newer westerns and I found I just really love the vibe. Even when I don’t love the movie it’s really the vibe that I enjoy, couldn’t really explain why haha 🥲. I then realized I strongly dislike drawing horses and in fact (controversial opinion but it is my own) I’m not really a big fan of horses so I thought I’d lose interest quickly if I had to force myself to draw horses for certain drawings. I decided to do motorcycles instead just cus I thought it’d be more enjoyable for me to learn how to draw that than horses lol. So then the AU became lik the. Futuristic Cowboys and then that’s how it got the way it currently is

As for making the story it definitely helps to have someone to riff off sometimes. I thought of most the ideas for AT AU story wise by myself but when I was first coming up with it I was sharing all of my ideas with my younger sister, and occasionally she’d get an idea too, or expand on something a little bit. I don’t really know how to explain the way I come up with the overall story I think I just decide on a bunch of bullet points that I want to happen just ideas in the void. Then I think of major plot points I want to happen. Then I think of dynamics of characters. Then I just start organizing those ideas. Not necessarily in that order but those are the kind of starting points I guess!!

That was a long explanation haha I’m sorry! Hopefully it helps a little! Good luck making some fun AUs!!

Hello everyone, it’s the anon that hates sleeping, not sleeping! I was working on chapter two of TSF(The Spore family) and like I want to kill a character(not a major one yet) and I realised I never properly planned or fixed the religious side of stuff or how death works so you know what’s first?

Death.

Sporelings, one of two options.(You choose)

1.They are buried then become the really tall mushrooms protecting the island. Their soul is like burn when the mushroom is put into living thing such as grass, flowers and tree. If you cut one down, you will be haunted but said ghost that was the mushroom. Most lovers would have in their will for their bodies to be buried intertwined so that the mushrooms would be connected, saying that their together forever, even in death.

2.Their just a really special underground place where their buried(Done this way back when they first came to the island in a way to protect their souls in case the ‘humans’ actually found them)

(both)Its like just regular funerals but like the whole village? Town? Just all the sporelings are there for the burial, giving wishes that their soul may be rested and move on. 2.When the soul is ‘rest’ it actually just become a guardian spirit of the island.

Gnomes, will be whatever you don’t choose for the sporelings.

Vex, their soul is split into two or more when they die. One half is like ghostbur, just exist for like 20 years before finally withering and become one with the other half, which is like the spirit(Revivebur) and it just exist in the afterlife.

Elves, are basically like the after in Thor and Black Panther, where like people who died in a vicious battle go to the place of all the ancestors. Everyone else just goes to heaven or hell or some thing idk.

Fae, that live in the mortal plain, when they die they go back to the fae realm. And can’t leave again. :P

Fae, that live in the fae realm, they go to a limbo of sorts, and it’s like Scott’s afterlife. They get the happy ending they always wanted. Everything and Everyone is made to make them happy. And only them, cause everyone else there is fake and make up by their memories and wishes of who they could’ve been.

Fairy, become whisps. (The difference for the Fae and Fairies is that the fairies are tiny with wings, the fae are almost elf like but with reptilian eyes. Kinda scary but beautiful.)

Creatures of the Void, just explode into whatever the hell the void is made of.

Side tangent fun fact about me: in elementary school, I was the dork who’d wear fake fangs at recess and did convince several classmates I was a vampire. My friends now also think I’m a vampire because of my horrid sleeping patterns, pale skin and aversion to many foods. So I’ve got that down pat, no tab left open needed.

The thing with my many many lost tabs is most of them were fanfics I’d been planning on getting to, some of which were on old sites or some of which I went to ridiculous search lengths to find, and others were important tabs or reminders or writing research or occasional guitar TABs I kept open because if I didn’t, their very existence would slip from my memory forever... and uh well they kind of did immediately slip from my memory...

Not one of my 3 choices, but one particular (totally super duper important) bookmark I remember I had, though, was just a link to this song remix of the prime minister saying the words speaking moistly in 2020, lmao: X

As for my choice of 3 tabs I’d save, they’re not the most exciting from the top of my head in comparison. I know the one I immediately reopened before anything else was this Pacific Rim fanfiction: From Out the Ocean Risen by Bluestar , but it thankfully was in my ao3 bookmarks, unlike others, so not lost forever to the void. (God, it’s gorgeously written.)

Oh, oh my god, I wouldn’t have even remembered it if not for this ask but my second choice would be this one page I found that told me how to copy/package a lot into the bin in Sims 2 even if there are already sims living in it. Oh my god, I need to go find this again immediately. I forgot it completely 😭 you’ve saved this information from oblivion for me.

Man, this is difficult because I don’t even know the half of the information and bookmarks I lost. That’s why they were open or bookmarked 😭

3rd one maybe my favourite 1990 something X-Files fic? But since it was a favourite, I do remember its name so it wasn’t really an unrecoverable loss like some tabs 🤔

SHIFTING IS THE LAW OF ASSUMPTION, THE LAW OF ASSUMPTION IS SHIFTING

This is going to be a long ass post about shifting and law of assumption, my experience and my thoughts on it. If you are into these things, please read it. It may help you, motivate you or even let you know law of assumption and shifting better. <3

i’ve been in my shifting journey for a year and a half now, and what i can tell you is that shifting is the law of assumption and the law of assumption is shifting.

you can’t use one without using the other one.

why am i saying this? well, imagine you like a person. you like a person so much and you just want them to like you back, but at the moment they’re dating someone else and they are so in love with the one they are dating.

what can you do? can’t you manifest their love? ofc you can! but you aren’t damaging anyone, you are not making them stop loving the other person, you are just becoming aware of a reality where they are in love with you. and how is becoming aware of another reality called? shifting!

it is possible, completely. i did it myself.

when you really want something, the only thing you have to do in order to get it, it’s accept the fact that you already have it.

MY EXPERIENCE

the first time i got into manifestation it was December 2021. During that month i really liked a boy, i used to say i was in love, my whole world revolved around him and he didn’t seem to like me back. he liked another girl and we didn’t talk much, never tbh.

but yk what? i wanted him anyway.

during december 2021 manifesting went viral on tiktok, i saw many videos so i tried it myself.

i used to record some random videos with random audios and then text in the description “he will text me and we will chat frequently”.

of course those audios worked just bc i thought so, so i began to think that he liked me.

what happened then? one night, out of nowhere, he texted me just to tell me he wanted to know me better and we started talking all days and all nights.

in one month we started dating.

it was that easy, i manifested his love.

now, why did it worked?

just because i thought so! idk why, but at some point i was so sure he liked me back that my desire eventually became real.

my 4d reflected in my 3d, i became aware of a reality where he liked me.

HOW CAN THIS BE RELATED TO SHIFTING?

let’s start from the beginning.

i discovered shifting in 2020, but before summer 2022 i never actually tried.

when i discovered it, it was on tiktok, and people used to say you had to count till 100 and imagine to be on a train or something to shift. tbh, i can’t blame antis bc they didn’t believe it, since i didn’t believe it myself and it sounds stupid af.

i thought it was something magical and it wasn’t true at all, but ofc i would’ve like it to be true.

one day, on summer 2022, i saw a video on tiktok and it was one of those videos from kpop shifter. it seemed so interesting so i just decided to learn more.

it was the day when i started my shifting journey.

at first, i didn’t understand anything abt shifting.

i thought methods were needed, meditation was needed, being in the journey for years was needed but actually nothing is needed.

i know you’re probably tired of hearing what i’m going to say, but i’ll do it anyway.

YOU ONLY NEED YOURSELF.

and you need to understand that. i mean, truly, fully understand that.

you don’t need to reprogram your mind, you don’t need to stay still in bed without moving any muscles ( even if it can help reach the void 😭 ) and you don’t have to attempt everyday to shift.

YOU NEED YOURSELF AND NOTHING ELSE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT.

you want to shift? perfect, just tell yourself before going to bed you intend to wake up in your dr tomorrow, and believe in what you’re saying, and you will be in your dr when you wake up.

it’s that easy.

Here some shifting-related things and how they work :

🎀 Symptoms : they do not exist at all. i know some people on shiftok decided to FUCKING WAKE UP and started to tell “some shifting symptoms are signs that you’re body is falling asleep” but it’s not like that. i mean, yeah some shifting symptoms are just hypnagogia symptoms but that doesn’t mean the others are shifting symptoms. SYMPTOMS FOR SHIFTING DO NOT EXIST. when you manifest something, do u feel your body floating? do u feel yourself spinning? do u feel your “surrounding changing”? of course u do not! bc manifestation is INSTANT such as shifting is, since they are THE EXACT SAME THING.

🎀 Methods : methods are actually not shifting methods, but meditation method. when you do a method you’re just meditating, those things like count till 100 exist just to help you focus on your desires. so, in fact, methods are helpful to reach the void state, then you affirm ( you MANIFEST ) and then your manifestations reflect on your 4d and that’s how you shift.

🎀 Why is shiftok so demotivating? And why most of the “shifter” there don’t actually shift? Just bc they don’t know what shifting really is, they don’t understand that shifting is the law of assumption. They even try to “use the law of assumption” to shift explaining as if those were two different things. It is so demotivating bc PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT SHIFTING IS, THEY DONT BASICALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. 😭😭

Not a request, it’s just another one of those “I’m telling you about this because I’m obsessed with this idea and my only other option is to scream it into the void or write it myself”.

Romulan let’s the mute human woman (born this way, trauma, etc) touch his hand so that she can communicate freely or so he can act as her voice when she is frustrated with others in the room that don’t know sign or if a thought/idea is too complex to sign easily. They become so used to this they are practically glued to each other and constantly touching hands not really thinking twice about it. He had no idea human women could be so damn snarky and cunning - not having had much experience around them - but is very pleased. She’s highly amused by his arrogance and surprising softness that he has accidentally let slip through his thoughts. When it’s time to go their separate ways, they both feel as though that would almost be like cutting off a limb they are so used to one another. They’ve become extensions of the other. Guess she’s gonna have to be a Romulan citizen now? 🥺😭

In my brain this is in a Jem hadar prison camp and they are the ones who mutilated her so she couldn’t speak. She’s bitter and frustrated with how she can’t communicate, so he offers her his help.

This is so Letant tbh - can you imagine him going all politician at a party on Romulus or something and leading his now wife around by his elbow, touching her hand. They’d be silently gossiping and reveling in their own private jokes while keeping straight faces in front of the other Senators. (Sorta kinda like one of your Vorik fics at the luau)

Ugh just a screaming, crying, throwing up. Seriously tho - I love your writing so much. You’re such an inspo - keep up the amazing work ❤️

This got so long omg. I had A Lot Of Thoughts.

This whole idea makes me fucking feral! Going off of the concept that the Jem’Hadar were the ones who made it so she can’t talk leaves so much space for so many emotions! Like, she gets tossed in the cell Letant is in, and he’s there to witness her realization that she no longer has the ability to talk and her first few struggles to make her thoughts known.

At first, he helps translate for her because seeing her struggle is an annoyance...and in a way that he doesn’t want to admit, seeing her in pain/crying makes him want to bundle her up in his arms. He wants to make that feeling stop, and he thinks it’s just empathy, so he starts doing the touch telepathy translating thing.

But the feelings don’t stop (obviously). They get stronger and stronger until he finds himself smiling more despite their captivity and protecting her despite the danger to himself until “oh no, I love her.” Then the moment comes when they’re free/heading back to the wormhole (or some close Starbase depending on where the camp is) and they realize that their state of existence in a nearly inseparable pair is imminently at risk of being completely destroyed. As you said, at that point he’s a part of her and she’s a part of him. And they can both tell when the other realizes, because they’re both scared - it’s not her first time being terrified, but it is the first time since the Jem’Hadar took her ability to speak that she’s been this scared; it’s definitely his first time being anything close to this frightened of losing someone, and all semblance of arrogance is just completely gone. Because he can’t lose her. And she can’t lose him.

He just doesn’t let go of her the entire trip to the wormhole/starbase, cuddling her close and trying to figure out what to do while she sleeps - should he stay in Federation territory with her? Or did his responsibility as a member of the Romulan Senate render that impossible? If it did, would she go with him?

When her hand touches his face, he realizes that oh fuck, she was awake for that whole thought process. How much did she hear?? And he’s suddenly hit with the terrifying thought that she would think him ridiculous for wanting to be with her. After all, he was only translating for her. And she was human - he was so much older than her.

But then she kisses him and holds his hand like she always does when he translates for her. Just one request filters through: “Take me home with you.”

When he does, it’s as his wife, and he’s So Proud of her. They absolutely have the little gossip sessions telepathically at every social function, and if anyone says anything rude about her being human or mute or whatever, they face the Wrath™ of a Very Protective Romulan Senator.

CRINGEFAIL AU WATCHER LORE POST

Cringefail AU is a life series rp I do with my sister starting from double life. A lot of the lore surrounding watchers is based on my own headcanons I had before they were like completely disproven. And then the cringefail part is just. Because it’s a goofy roleplay and we needed drama. You’ll see.

WARBINF ITS VERY VERY LONG I SPENT LIKE 2-3 HOURS TYPING ALL OF THIS 😭

Before we get started, disclaimer that this is all the AU! I like to try to explain the canon lore but I am NOT doing that right now, don’t take this as an explanation of canon watchers.

SO WHAT THE HELL ARE WATCHERS?

I’m not sure exactly how I would describe them- something like magical beings, spirits, divine creatures… ghosts are even a good description. They tend to be purple and have wings and eyes as well as their classic symbol, but they can appear however they like. Most watchers look different from each other while still looking similar sometimes. HOWEVER, all of this explanation of their appearance was POINTLESS because nobody ever sees them! They’re pretty much impossible to see if you’re not in the void with them, and even then they might choose not to let you see them.

So they’re magical spirits that live in the void, anything else? Yes! As you might guess they feed on the emotions of players. They also have special powers, like the ability to place bedrock and make worlds to put players in (and of course the ability to take players and put them in said worlds). However, only powerful watchers can do these things. There’s different power levels, but they don’t have names cuz they kind of vary a lot. This will be expanded upon later, there’s something that must happen for watchers to gain power.

You know what would make this make a lot more sense?

WATCHER HISTORY LESSON!!!

Watchers started as spiritual beings that could only spectate players. They’ve been around since the beginning of time, but back then they were so weak nobody even knew they existed, because it was almost like they didn’t exist at all. Despite being nothing but invisible eyes, they had a desire to exist, to enjoy life as the creatures they watched did. So began the strange evolution of the watchers. They began to absorb the energy of life from those they watched, all the joy and hardships the living faced eventually granted the watchers life. They had officially become living creatures, who fed off emotions. They were still undetectable by players, even when having their emotions eaten, it wasn’t even in NEARLY large enough quantities to be noticeable.

As time went on, the watchers ate more and more emotions and got more and more powerful, until eventually they started interacting with players by making puzzles for them to complete. Thus watchers began being known by a few players. They still weren’t powerful enough to create their own worlds yet.

To the small amount of players who knew of them, Watchers seemed to be playful gods. There was a couple who didn’t trust them, believing that one day they would get TOO playful and start toying with the mortals. So, in order to save themselves, they offered their firstborn child to the watchers in exchange for them to never bother the rest of the family (and any other children they may have) again. The watchers accepted the deal, now having a human child despite not having physical bodies to be able to take care of it.

So the watchers did what they could, and began the evolution of making worlds. They managed to create a pocket world for their child, still accessible from the main world. Now to introduce a new power the watchers have: marking. (wtf 😳) (SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO WHAT I ACTUALLY MEAN). They marked the child’s soul with the mark of a watcher, granting the watchers access to his head. They could now speak to the child as rhyming whispers in his head. This is how they raised him.

The evolution of the watchers and their powers had been very slow for the entirety of their existence, but this development caused a rapid growth. As they raised their son and fed off his emotions, giving him silly challenges to complete to stimulate emotions, their power slowly grew. People found the pocket world and became friends with the child, allowing the watchers to create more challenges and eat more emotions. He even got to leave his world, now being older. It was still where he lived though, so he would come back.

Eventually the watchers had gained enough power and decided to do something ambitious: create their own world, put players in it, profit. They transformed their son’s world into a new, closed off world, taking him and some other players who were interested and putting them in. This world became known as EVO.

Another thing that contributed to the large power increase; they elected two watchers to be leaders, giving them all the power so that they would be able to use it to feed their subjects. These watchers became known as Watcher 1 and Watcher 2.

Up until this point, watchers could be a little mischievous, but typically cared about the players. They also ate any type of emotion, and never consumed so much that it was noticeable. But then there was a divide between some of the watchers. Most of them started to crave more negative emotions, and cared less about the players. Others preferred the positive emotions and wanted the players to have more agency.

The second group had enough, and split off, calling themselves the Listeners. And they took their son in the divorce. That’s right. The mark of the watchers became the mark of the listeners, blocking off the son’s communication with the Watchers and replacing it with communication with the Listeners (the ones who did most of the raising anyway).

There was an evolutionary split between the watchers and listeners; the listeners got their own symbol, turned green wtf, lost the eye imagery and gained ear imagery. They functioned much like the watchers did. The watchers on the other hand, also changed. They became hungrier. They craved negative emotions so much, positive ones began to lose nutritional value.

The Watchers and Listeners were evolving too fast, for the Listeners it wasn’t bad (though they lost many powers that the Watchers had), but for the Watchers their cravings turned into needs and they could no longer live off positive emotions. While the Listeners didn’t need much emotions to keep them going, the Watchers began to need too much. They could no longer scrape a little off the top every once in a while like the Listeners could.

Watcher 1 and Watcher 2 knew if they wanted their species to survive, they needed to create a new game. Something that would generate enough negative emotions to feed all the watchers consistently. The problem was… they didn’t have that power. They could create a world, but they couldn’t create anything enticing enough to satisfy their people. It looked like a doomed situation, but they had a trump card. They could use their power for something… crazy.

They could turn a player into a Watcher. And if they did, that Watcher would be more powerful than even them.

They looked at their players and saw the most potential in one of them. He had the most potential for creating a source of food, the most potential for toying with other’s lives enough and making them suffer. Magically. Like, his soul had stored magic that looked like making people suffer. Idk man. IT’S GRIAN WE ALL KNOW THIS THEY WANNA TURN GRIAN INTO A WATCHER.

So they take all the players to the End, where they can most easily reach players. They make them kill the dragon, on their own, and turn Grian into a Watcher, essentially killing him. They promote him to Watcher 3, unlocking his powers. (What, did you think his watcher name would be Xelqua? Nah, it’s Watcher 3. Let’s call him 3 for short :P). They explain everything to Grian, letting him prepare to create the death games while they let EVO play out, feeding on what they can while they wait for Grian to be ready.

Speaking of the others in EVO… in order to protect their mission, the Listeners placed a curse onto their son, a curse that increased his chances of being forgotten, a curse that was able to hide his existence (name it in the comments below :P). The Watchers forgot about him for a bit and didn’t put him in the new spawn, allowing the Listeners to speak to him in private and let him do their mission.

(This curse also had the side effect of, after EVO had been abandoned, erasing all evidence of Jimmy’s existence. The only reason people investigating the abandoned world know he might’ve existed is because he was very close with Martyn. No, it didn’t cause people who knew him to forget about him, they all remember him, the Watchers also remember him they just temporarily forgot. People he knew might’ve also occasionally forgot he existed for a bit, but not Martyn.) (also am I gonna call him Jimmy instead of just “the son”? I feel like it’s obvious but actually if you aren’t familiar with EVO lore you don’t know Jimmy did a Listener mission and therefore wouldn’t have guessed it. Uh. It’s Jimmy btw.)

The other players (I don’t normally specify what things are different from canon cuz this is obviously an AU but since I briefly mentioned canon I feel like I should clarify that this bit is indeed different from canon) don’t know that Grian became a Watcher, instead only knowing he died fighting the dragon. Well that grief is probably pretty yummy to the Watchers lol.

The Listeners knew things were going to get bad for the players after this, and plotted how to free them and hide them from the Watchers. Eventually, they managed to guide every player out, except the Watchers managed to get BigB, Pearl, Jimmy, and Martyn. Who knows what happened to the others? Did the Listeners succeed in protecting them? Irrelevant to the plot. If I had to guess they’re in witness protection.

Now we FINALLY get to the death games. Well, almost. I wanna get some things out of the way first.

SO WHY IS GRIAN DOING THIS? IS BRO EVIL?

For many reasons, Grian was very distraught upon becoming a Watcher. He was killed, transformed, taken away from his friends and his life, and now being told he had to torture people for the rest of eternity. He obviously refused this at first.

But the problem was, Grian was now one of them. He had to eat large quantities of negative emotions to survive, just like them. Also, ye bet yer booty he was being guilt tripped to hell and back about how the fate of the entire species rests on his shoulders.

So eventually his hunger grew too much, and he got to work crafting 3rd Life. He can’t help that he wants to live and doesn’t like starving. He was a very fun loving adventurer before all of this, he loved life, and despite it clearly being long gone for him, he still clings to any bit of “life” he can, hoping it’ll come back to him.

“Wait poppy, are you telling me that if Grian just stopped doing this, the Watchers couldn’t do anything about it and would all die out and everyone would be saved?” There’s PROBABLY more complications to it than that, but basically, yes. You don’t need to tell Grian that he can save everyone by just giving up on his own life, he knows. He feels guilty enough about it. Curse him for wanting to live and having more hope than he should. He never really had issues like this while he was alive, but as a Watcher he hates himself so much.

He hopes one day he’ll find a way to be free with his friends, but it doesn’t seem likely, and he must torment them in the mean time.

WAIT… ISN’T GRIAN IN THE DEATH GAMES TOO? WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?

(The canon reason is pretty wholesome, this AU makes things ten million times angstier tbh) SO. Yes dear reader, Grian is in the death games. He is, as previously alluded to, The Most Powerful Watcher In Existence. Doesn’t mean he’s AllPowerful, just the most powerful. As the only Watcher to have ever had a physical body, he’s the only one who can create one for himself.

There are three main reasons he puts himself in the death games.

1. He misses being alive, he misses his friends, this is his only opportunity to just be a regular person instead of whatever the hevk a WATCHER is.

2. He feels guilty about putting his friends in this situation, so in order to feel a little less guilty, he includes himself in the torture. A form of self harm you could say, though as reason 1 says he also likes doing this so wtf. It’s complicated.

3. He doesn’t want to feed off his friends suffering so he puts himself in the games so he can simply feed off his own negative emotions when it’s over.

Now, number 3 has a lot to explain. Lets start with:

HOW DO THE WATCHERS EAT?

In the past (and how Listeners do it) they could just passively feed off a little bit of emotions. With these newly evolved voracious Watchers, they’ve stopped feeding on emotions, and moved on to souls. That’s why everyone must die at the end, so the Watchers can eat all of the suffering they went through in a nice packaged soul. They consume so much of it that the players lose the emotions they felt during those lives.

Souls are kind of like liquid btw! They like to call the collection of souls they eat “the soup”. Also, they tend to leave “crumbs”. Sometimes it’s by mistake, sometimes it’s purposeful, whatever the reason, the crumbs are feelings that carry over into the next lives, due to the Watchers not eating it.

Another thing, Watchers must feed once every 6 months to stay healthy.

OKAY. SO GRIAN EATS HIS OWN SOUL? WHAT’S THAT LIKE?

Well… since Grian’s a Watcher, not a player, his soul is… well, unless he has a body it doesn’t even exist (he IS his soul). When he creates a body he creates a soul to go with it, but since he’s dead, it’s not a very big or strong soul. But Watchers can only eat the souls of players, they cannot feed off the negative emotions of a Watcher, so he must work with that little soul.

As a result, even if he suffered greatly in the season, his soul isn’t very filling. He doesn’t share it with the others either, he kind of needs to eat the whole thing in order to live. Plus he hates the other Watchers.

His soul is just barely enough to keep him alive, and it worries the other Watchers. If he dies, they won’t have a food source and will die too. They try to get him to feast with the rest of them, but he refuses. Not only is it out of guilt, but Watchers get easily addicted to negative emotions and eating too much will cause them to need too much. Grian unfortunately has chosen to be constantly starving to prevent himself from falling into gluttony. With how hungry he is, he knows that if he ate just a little more he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from consuming as much as possible. That’s why he limits himself to just his puny soul.

When he eats it, he experiences those emotions all over again, making the whole ordeal a pretty miserable experience. This does mean that Watcher Grian feels every emotion he has ever felt, while when he’s in the games he only has the crumbs (Grian doesn’t leave crumbs when he eats but since he’s making a soul with himself it kind of works the same anyway).

WAIT HOLD ON. HOW DOES GRIAN BEING A WATCHER AFFECT HIS EXPERIENCE IN THE DEATH GAMES?

Glad you asked! While he’s in the game, he doesn’t know he’s a watcher. He’s as clueless as everyone else about what’s going on (SIDE NOTE! NOBODY REMEMBERS ANYTHING FROM BEFORE THE DEATH GAMES! As a watcher Grian does but not while in the game). He does this on purpose when putting himself in the game, because he hates being a Watcher and just wants to be a regular player like everyone else, and the best way to do that is to truly not even know that you’re not the same as everyone else.

But he’s not… completely the same. He still knows very deep in his subconscious that he runs the games. It’s in case something goes wrong and he needs to correct it, the other Watchers aren’t powerful enough to do it so he keeps the power in his subconscious just in case. This caused a lot of problems in Limited Life but I only wanna talk about the “backstory” of this AU not the “current events”. I’d love to talk about them if someone asks (or if I get bored enough to make another post like this).

Also, by nature of being a Watcher, he enjoys watching people suffer more than usual. And in order to make sure he gets fed enough when he’s a Watcher again, Grian’s kind of rigged himself to make bad decisions. His tendency to kill the ones he loves isn’t a curse, it’s something he does subconsciously to generate more suffering for himself. Consciously though, he doesn’t know why he does these things. Makes it feel worse (good!).

A side effect of being a Watcher and not knowing, one that was not on purpose, is that he feels a constant guilt without knowing why. He’s the most guilt ridden man in the game, and with all the bad things he’s done due to his Watcher self wanting to create negative emotions, he doesn’t realize that he doesn’t know what he actually feels guilty about. He gets pretty bad mood swings and sometimes feels extremely guilty for everything. But even when he hasn’t done anything wrong, he has a lingering sense of guilt that he’s too used to to really notice.

OKAY, I THINK I’VE HEARD ENOUGH ABOUT GRIAN. WHAT ABOUT MARTYN? DOESN’T HE HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WATCHERS?

Yep! Let’s rewind a bit. When the Watchers captured a few people from EVO when they tried to escape, they knew Martyn had a connection to the Listeners. As punishment for both him and the Listeners, they marked his soul, making him a Watcher Agent. Martyn doesn’t remember the Listeners though, and doesn’t know what Watchers are called. He just knows what he hears from them. As you might expect, they are voices inside his head.

WHAT’S A WATCHER AGENT?

A Watcher Agent is someone who has been marked by the Watchers and therefore is forced to work for them. Listeners have Agents too, as you might guess Jimmy has been a Listener Agent since the split in EVO. Listener Agents gain some sort of aesthetic ears, Watcher Agents don’t get anything cool who thinks we should change that (I can’t think of anything. He does get the symbol at some point tho). Lizzie also becomes a Listener Agent at some point but that’s during Limited Life (can you believe we did this before Secret Life, there’s probably something fun we can do about that).

As a Watcher Agent, Martyn’s main job is to kill and betray, to keep the suffering going. He eventually got a new job: kill Grian. The Watchers enchanted him so that if he gets a final kill on Grian, he would be banished to the void so he can no longer create a body to use in the games. The Watchers are tired of Grian risking himself and their lives like this and need Martyn to final kill him so he will no longer fool around in the death games he’s supposed to maintain.

As a Listener Agent, Jimmy’s main job is to. Um. Do whatever they need him to, I guess. The one consistent thing he does is when he dies. The Watchers turned his curse of being forgotten into the Canary Curse, making him die first every time. The Listeners take advantage of this by having Jimmy save a piece of everyone’s souls when he dies. This is so every life can have a nice afterlife (that nobody remembers) and in case the Listeners succeed in saving the players, they can return some of their emotions to them.

WAIT WHAT HAPPENS WHILE THE PLAYERS ARE DEAD ANYWAYS?

Well their souls are kind of in the void with the Watchers. OH SHOOT. There’s two different types of souls. FRICK. Can I come up with a new word for one? No? DAMN. Okay so like the Watchers use the player’s souls which are kind of like their bodies but souls. They use those to create the souls that they eat. You get me? The two are still connected, I mean the souls crack and fragment just like in canon. But the soupy souls they eat are in a separate location (the kitchen and then the dining room). Those souls only exist when the players are in a death game. They have a separate place they keep the main body souls. But the two are still directly connected (like soulmates) you get it? The soup souls are safer to mash like potatoes while the body souls are much fragiler and it’s better not to touch them.

To expand on that last statement, you can devour the soup souls and it’ll only erase the emotions. If you hurt the body souls, it’ll damage the mental state of the player. Immature watchers are not allowed in the body soul storage room. It’s only for those who are more qualified. When players aren’t in the death games, they only exist as those body souls. If they’re dead but the game is still going, then once Jimmy frees a piece of their soul (which since he dies first, is like before they even died) they can have a ghost that haunts the server. That ghost persists in the secret afterlife that the Listeners created, but is completely separate from the souls (yes Jimmy gets a ghost too he frees his own soul piece as well).

It’s impossible for physical bodies to exist in the void the Watchers live in. The only way for players to exist in there is as the body souls. However, Watchers keep them unconscious almost all of the time (they sometimes wake Martyn up to yell at him for effing things up during the game). When the souls aren’t being used, they are kept falling forever in place, so the Watchers can passively feed off their unconscious fear (it’s not enough to survive with just that, but it’s a nice treat to keep them going until the next feast).

IF a player wakes up in the void, they do retain those memories unless they get erased. The only Watcher who can erase memories is Grian btw. Okay maybe Watchers 1 and 2 can, I never thought about it because the plot… never mind. It might just be Grian idk not important. Basically, players usually only remember the death games because their memories from before are erased and they’re always unconscious in the void so there’s nothing to remember of it. Also whenever the Watchers decide to talk to someone in the void, they make it totally blank and are not visible, so the only thing to remember for people like Martyn are the conversations.

OKAY… SO… WHY IS THE AU CALLED CRINGEFAIL? WHAT’S THAT ABOUT?

There is a reason, and it DOES have to do with the Watchers! The main premise of the AU is that 3L and LL go like they do in canon, but in DL, Watchers 1 and 2 (the big bad canon guys) are so disappointed in Martyn’s performance lately that they don’t even bother watching and just wait for the feast. This opens an opportunity for less qualified watchers to sneak in Martyn’s head and boss him around. We call these watchers the “cringefail watchers”, because they are cringe and fail. They stop rhyming and being cryptic, they act like school bullies to Martyn, and talk to him wayyy too much.

Due to the name of the au and also trying to have fun, we come up with excuses that Watcher 1 and 2 can’t come back and take over like they’re supposed to. In DL they just didn’t want to, but now the Listeners have been messing around, trying to find Watcher weaknesses, so they’re busy dealing with the Listeners. This gives the cringefail watchers more time to clean up the mess they’ve made and prove that they can make Martyn do what needs to be done. Watchers 1 and 2 don’t know the cringefail watchers have been taking over, because they aren’t supposed to do that so the cringefail watchers are trying to be sneaky about it.

The cringefail watchers hate Grian, but they have to come crawling to him when the game’s over and something’s gone wrong, like people knowing too much. Sometimes it’s the cringefail guys’ fault, sometimes it’s Grian’s fault. Both parties hate each other, but agree that the players can’t know the truth about the death games, so they work together. Even when memories must be wiped, the watchers never let Martyn’s memories be erased, because they’re tired of him always asking questions instead of doing his job, and want him to have an advantage over the others.

About that, the cringefail watchers are Martyn POV only, and learn about what the others were up to during the feast when they eat the emotions. So they can’t spy on the others and tell Martyn information that way. I mean, regular watchers can watch anyone they want live, but these guys are locked in the Martyn POV in order to talk to him.

SO, WHAT POWERS DO WATCHERS HAVE EXACTLY ANYWAY?

Great question! Also very hard to answer lol. Grian is the most powerful, with Watchers 1 and 2 being second most powerful. Being a player turned watcher, Grian has powers no other watcher has, but isn’t allpowerful. He is limited in what he can do as well.

Only Watchers that have been promoted to have names can have powers, but the thing is after they got Grian, they mass promoted a bunch of watchers to try to gain as much power as they could. Nowadays every watcher is a promoted watcher and has a name (which is just a number lmao). So they’re all able to have powers, but the newer watchers (higher numbers) are less likely to have them, and their powers are much weaker.

While Grian is the only one who can create gimmicks, the Watchers have the power to control the gimmicks if they want. They even prevented Grian from being boogeyman cuz they were petty lol. One of our main watcher characters is known as “the guy who made 6 boogeymen that one time” (I forgot his number noo). So they can do a bit of running the game but still need Grian for a lot of it.

Watchers also have power over anyone they have marked. They can mute them and blind them. Listeners have this power too, except instead of blinding they can make them deaf. Listeners are not powerful enough to talk to players without rhyming, but Watchers are.

They can make curses too but I don’t really have examples. You gotta understand I need to leave this open so we can make stuff up at our convenience. The idea is they’re really powerful but also not really powerful and most of them can’t even do much at all. Also the Listeners are weaker, but can still do a lot of basic things Watchers can, as well as their own Listener themed powers.

ALRIGHT… SO IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANTED TO INFODUMP ABOUT? I HOPE NOT THIS POST IS ALREADY SO LONG-

- Grian’s watcher name may be Watcher 3, but that doesn’t mean you can’t call him Xelqua- it’s his title! In this au, a Xelqua is a Watcher who feeds the rest of the Watchers by providing a source of food. Basically the farmer or the chef. Kind of a leader type of role but they all hate him. He still has a huge amount of authority due to being the Xelqua but Watchers don’t have like, laws or anything, so authority earns you nothing except respect, which Grian tosses out. The only reason Watchers listen to him at all is because they need him to survive. But he can’t threaten them.

- Some Watchers were in charge of taking care of the body souls (as I called them), but they went to help Watchers 1 and 2 when the Listener drama happened, so the cringefail watchers haven’t been taking good care of the souls. This is why they’re all much angstier than in canon. Yeah you’re supposed to take good care of the body souls or else the soup souls aren’t as nutritious or filling. They’re mostly okay for now but as the seasons go by things may get worse…

- In case it somehow wasn’t clear, Watchers are indeed mortal. They don’t have physical bodies but they need emotions to survive and can starve to death. They are technically an endangered species due to the sudden increase of food needed to survive. They’re not a very well known species tho.

- Martyn knows Grian is a Watcher but he doesn’t know what that means exactly, just that Grian’s the same as the voices in his head and isn’t supposed to be there. He also knows Grian doesn’t know, but this was something he had to learn.

- BTW Canary Curse did turn Jimmy into a canary hybrid. He’s had it since the start so he doesn’t realize he was once human, and everyone thinks his lack of knowledge on how avians work despite being one is just Jimmy being Jimmy rather than very strange.

- Okay, I actually don’t wanna get too deep into the characters here, and I forgot what I ACTUALLY wanted to put here.
