let’s start with the obvious. It’s out now on Hulu! Has been since February maybe idk. I’m unhealthily obsessed and bad with dates.

It’s his directorial debut, but if you didn’t know. Jake started out as a writer before improv and acting. He’s the writer, director, and star of this one. It’s very special and his baby!

It’s a wild roller coaster ride of emotions and genre. If you smoke, smoke, if you drink, drink, if you are sober, it’s still a roller coaster ride. Don’t worry, there is a lot there for you too!

But if you like enhancements, I hear it’s extra fun.

I liked it a lot, it’s whacky, creepy at times, but undeniably fun. And that’s all I will say.

Warning! Don’t watch press or any interviews for the movie until after you’ve seen the movie.

The Pretty One -

one of my favorites. It’s an oddball indie about twins where one dies and the one alive assumes the identity of the one who died where she stumbles upon her sister neighbor played by Jake Johnson. He’s dressed like a sexy Mr. Rogers if you ask me, and he is delightfully sardonic and childish. However, he dresses better than Nick Miller ever could

Win it All

It used to be on Netflix, but it’s been taken down recently. That’s my bad because I could have made this sooner, but I just haven’t for no reason.

Jake plays a character with a gambling addiction and an anxiety inducing as the first part may be, it’s not that bad. When I first saw it I had to turn it off because I just got too anxious over what might happen next, but you might not have a weak stomach like me, so you might be fine.

On the second time around, I made it to the part where he meets this girl and everything quickly became heartwarming and endearing and it makes you just root for the main character.

A love letter for those in our lives who may not be fortunate to put themselves together as well as we might.

this movie is very self-explanatory by the name. It’s very fun, Jeremy Reiner is in it, so that’s either good news or bad news for you. But it’s still fun.

Jake looks very good in this one. He still has his Tom cruise work out body.

I am very embarrassed to say I can tell what year every movie has come out based on his body shape which is lovely at every size, but the accuracy is quite scary. Which is information I didn’t need to share at all

Stumptown

I used to keep that thang on me.

And by thang on me, I mean a pirate ship link to see this show. But they are for some reason gone. I’ve searched high and low for ones to access on maybe a phone? But unless you have a fire stick that has some certain pirate ship accessories on there, I don’t know where you can watch it.

But it’s such an amazing serialized show about this woman who comes back home from Iraq with ptsd, the love of her life died over there and his family blames her for it and she also blames herself for it.

She becomes a private investigator and her best friend is Gray McConnell played by Jake Johnson who, surprise suprise, owns a bar.

Imagine a cooler, sexier, smarter, and more put together Nick Miller. He is just as funny and sarcastic, but not a manchild.

But the show has amazing bisexual representation, mental health representation of ptsd, complex female characters, and it’s so well paced and written and every way.

If you love cop shows like criminal minds or fbi or any of those, imagine something like that but about a private investigator, and more emphasis on the plot and characters and their relationships. The “cop” part is just more fun on this show than others, but I am biased because I hate cop shows.

I wish I had a link to give y’all for it because it’s so easily to obsess over.

However, it’s also been canceled because of “COVID” but if you look into it. That’s a bullshit reason, and it’s been canceled for no reason, but at that point Jake Johnson was doing spiderverse and Colbie Smolders was doing other stuff. (She plays the main female character)

MINX

Show set in the 70s about a woman starting the first male nude magazine to persue her dream of making a feminist one.

It’s smart, the writing is amazing, and I can not recommend it enough. There’s a lot of nudity, but it’s not what you think at all.

You truly have to watch it for yourself to understand what the show is trying to do, and it’s amazing.

I’ve never seen anything like it and it’s such a breath of fresh air in a time of remakes and endless sequels.

Drinking Buddies

Have you ever met someone and you never dated them, never had a something more conversation but the chemistry is there.

You were super close to them, but no one has ever questioned it or said anything about it, but when you are with them you know it’s there? But that’s all it ever has been and will be, and maybe you aren’t even in each others lives anymore but you still think of them from time to time because they were a major part of you being who you are?

Yes? Well boy do I have a movie for you!

No? Well that’s what this movie is, but it adds more because it’s a movie and it needed to be at least an hour and a half.

But now that you know what it’s about, be warned that it’s slower in pace. It’s an indie movie.

I will have more to say about that later.

But overall it’s a good movie with a good feeling.

If you’ve ever had a will they won’t they in a real life way and not the Hollywood way, this movie might trigger those feelings.

Digging for Fire

A cute heartwarming thriller.

Those genres don’t seem like they could all blend together, but that’s what this movie does.

A family rents out a house in LA and the husband, played by Mr Jake Johnson, finds a gun and a bone, and they call the police and they say we’re not responsible for random trash. Call us if you find a body.

This is a real story that happened to Jake Johnson and his family.

He called up his friend Joe Swamburg who is a director, and they make this movie together.

He’s also the director of drinking buddies and Win it All.

It’s not only about that, again, because it needs to be over an hour. So it’s also about marriage. Not say anything else because you need something to keep you wanting to see this one, but I will say, it’s not a pretentious or dark or super try hard movie about marriage that will depress you.

It’s open and honest and ultimately sweet.

Imagine if scenes from a marriage wasn’t a drag or if a marriage story was positive instead of weird.

Idk I never actually watched a marriage story. It might not even be called that at all and you may be confused so… moving on.

A show he was in for three episodes but it has a hilarious premise and if you are a fan of comedy, you might enjoy it having Will Farrell, Jason Mantzoukas and so much more.

limerental's fic writing reflection 2024

this year i posted a total of 128,831 words on ao3 in 41 total fics. the fandom tag I used most frequently was The Witcher (Video Game) with 22 total fics, the ship i wrote the most was Isengrim/Dijkstra with 5 total fics, and the character I wrote the most was Vernon Roche with 13 tagged fics.

fic by fic reflection under the cut

i started off the year (literally posting the first chapter December 31st 2023) with parallel lines, a reynard odo/vernon roche 5+1 featuring book and game canon blending, lots of political intrigue interspersed with pwp, and excessive character studies. i'm really fond of how this one turned out, especially the +1 outsider pov chapter, and i'll always like this very niche rarepair.

in january i finally finished a playthrough of tw3 and wrote sanctuary, a keira/lambert ficlet as a love letter to the unparalleled snark and banter and horniness between those characters.

mid-february, i started working on chained, a iorveth/roche slave caravan forced proximity handcuffed together canon divergent fic which is frankly one of the most immediate fic i've ever written and therefore also the most i've ever written about bodily functions (this is saying a lot as someone with a piss kink). what a wonderful endorsement for that fic!

after finishing chained in mid-march, i immediately started putting roche in more situations with homesick (letho/roche), punishment (dijkstra/roche), and curiosity (isengrim/roche). i won't say they're my favorite little fics of the year, but they were satisfying enough to write.

i then suffered a fascinating diversion into being briefly possessed by ghostsoap of the call of duty shoot and kill people in the head video game and so wrote try to wake up which was about uh... shooting in killed people's uh... in their.... um.

i took most of may off for my sanity (in my real person life, i work in horticulture managing retail greenhouse production. may is a blur) and toward the end of the month started (spite)-writing my ciri/everyone fic carry what i need to carry. it ended up being lots of fun and also my longest fic of the year. the ships and characters list on this one is truly intimidating to look at, but i'm really pleased with how I managed to deal with and depict ciri's sexual trauma, especially that side of things was so fully neglected in other adaptations.

in late july, i started replaying tw2 and write come back to me in a blur which is a yenralt canon divergence fic where yen came to flotsam instead of sile.

in august, i started on claimed, the iorveth pov sequel to chained which was essentially a prolonged roche whump sickfic with a side of iorveth shaking his fists at trees. i like this one nearly as much as the first installment, probably because of the excessive amount of banter.

my second non-witcher diversion of the year was a deadpool & wolverine fic, we deserve a soft epilogue, and the metacomedy of it all was deeply deeply fun to write. side note as a big enjoyer of the first deadpool movie, it's an actual crime that vanessa is written out so often haha hehe

and that was it! i spent october drafting ideas for my ficletvember 2024 where i wrote a fic a day for all of november, ending up with 28k. this year it was a pretty eclectic mix of twn and game and book canon.

overall i feel like though i wrote less than previous years, the stuff i did put out had more substance to them and were better written. i never could have written that ciri fic or claimed or even parallel lines in 2020. for one, no one could have predicted the absurd niche canon deep dive i've fallen into the past year. me?? writing more games canon than anything else?? it's truly whacky goofy. i wouldn't change any of it or the supportive crevices i've crawled into this past year.

I'm a fandom newbie, so I don't even have 5, but here are my babies:

5) Do you respond to comments?

Always. Obsessively so. Love responding to comments and chatting with readers.

6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

My fics have a good bit of angst and tension and heartbreak, but I always strive for an overall "warm" feeling in my writing, so those moments tend to get resolved at some point. No angsty endings in my portfolio (yet).

7) What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Accountant's Guide is where I gave Astarion everything I wish he could have. Zero regrets.

8) Do you get hate on fics?

Occasionally, but it's pretty rare. Not to make excuses for people hating on fics (because that is despicable; we're working for free here), but I don't think my fics are controversial enough to attract a lot of hate. They're cute. They're wholesome. They don't take themselves too seriously, so I think it's pretty difficult to hate on them.

Although someone once called Scarlett a b**** and sometimes I remember that and I become wrath.

9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Explicit smut is something I've really only started doing when I got into fanfiction this past year. I like incorporating it into my longfics to emphasize key moments for my characters and their development, so it's part porn, part plot.

It can get kinky, but it will always be consensual. Dubcon/noncon is a big no for me, personally.

10) Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No crossovers, but An Empirical Science is where I have a lot of fun butchering adapting Pride & Prejudice lines. I mean, it's a Rolan fic. How could you not?

11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know, but I have seen coincidences of very similar concepts and ideas popping up after I've introduced them in my fics.

12) Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, there's an ongoing Ukrainian translation for Accountant's Guide! I translate the comments every now and then and readers are really praising the language skills of the translator, so that's awesome!

13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, but we chat a lot about my stories on my Discord server, so that's often a little like writing together.

14) What’s your all time favorite ship?

Shalladin (Kaladin x Shallan from Stormlight Archive). I love Brandon Sanderson with all my heart, but for this, I will never forgive him.

15) What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I get very hyperfocused on my stories and rarely work on more than 1 project at a time, so I tend to finish what I start.

16) What are your writing strengths?

Look, my social anxiety makes me a pretty rizzless person to talk to in real life, but my writing is funny. It's charming. I am great at character voice. I keep things real. My OCs don't need to be perfect flawless beauty goddesses to woo the guy; they recite a few paragraphs and swing their fountain pen and the guy is on. the. floor.

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

According to a rather charming public bookmark on my fic, I struggle with "pacing issues" and "questionable narrative choices". Clearly, this person knows what they're talking about, so let's accept it as fact.

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think this is generally really difficult to pull off without being confusing (check out "The Wee Free Men" by Sir Terry Pratchett for a really good example how to do it). So unless I had a very specific reason for it, I would prefer to write around it as I've done with Infernal in An Empirical Science.

19) First fandom you wrote for?

Still BG3. First and last? Who knows.

20) Favorite fic you’ve written?

Accountant's Guide. It's the story I wrote when I hit rock bottom and thought I couldn't write anymore. It's the story that made me believe again. My first story in English and by far the easiest thing I've ever written. It's the story I reread when I'm sad, when I'm happy, when I want a hug that reaches all the way into my soul. I am never happier than when people tell me this is a comfort read for them, just as it is for me.

I was at my old campus today (graduated like ten years ago) and I had SUCH a flashback to reading Bleach Lists while in line for the double muffin special. If I remember correctly, you used to post, like, a list every six hours? (Insane output!) I would read them every day between classes. My crappy blackberry crashed under the weight of tumblr proper but could handle your text-only blog. Bleach wasn't even entirely entirely my thing, but Bleach LISTS were wall-to-wall bangers and I looooved reading them so much! It was like a whole separate canon. With sassy Ulquiorra and live tweets and whacky shipping stuff and crossovers and and and... Just thought I'd swing by to say thanks for your AMAZINGLY witty writing on those lists, I had so much fun reading them for yearrsss and you're the only reason I still know about 100 Bleach character names. I pretty sure your style of writing dialogue - especially the well-placed pauses - shaped my own writing (which is mainly comic strips ). I hope you are well and have fun creative projects! The my little pony fandom is crazy(in a good way). I remember watching cupcakes, rainbow factory, smile hd, and all those other spooky/gory videos on them back in the day. Thankfully I was to young and dumb to even understand what was happening in the videos

Overall I kinda love it either way. I love when ppl express themselves through fiction, being super fucked up violent stuff or the most toothrotting fluff imaginable~ I imagine it can be really cathartic for a lotta people. I remember going through a creepypasta phase as a teen and it was idk an outlet in a way?? By embracing things that scared me I suppose I felt a sense of control over my fears if that made sense?? Cause ya boi had and still has mega anxiety so allowing myself to feel scared in a safe environment feels good. Plus it was just fun

This one is hard... SO HARD. I love Seekers, I love the Scavengers and holy SHIT I love the DJD. I have a Kaon figure and it is my beloved.. Like.. Seekers are a fun group to roll around in my hands. Whats their deal? Why 3 of them? I like all the answers I get in the fandom. The Scavengers are silly little guys, just goofy dudes. I'd hang with them all day every day. Sublime guys. DJD are just cruel and evil and violent and pure horror. I love the dark side of things, and getting that REALLY dark stuff mixed in with the fun stuff? Its great and pretty horrifying and I love it.

     Ronnie exhaled to calm his nerves as the line of buses brought the campers to Camp Whacki Weechi for the first session of the summer. It was not only the first session but Ron’s first year as a counselor.

     Ron had worked at plenty of other camps since he was sixteen, but this was his first year in upstate New York working at a camp during the summer. He was excited, albeit a tad nervous.

     “Welcome, Campers,” Cliff, the head counselor and owner of the camp, greeted the campers as they disembarked from the blue buses, “to the first session this season at Camp Whacki Weechi. My name’s Cliff, I’m the head counselor here.” He motioned to the group of young men and women behind him. “These are your counselors this year. I hope you’ll treat them with respect and help them make this an amazing session, alright?”

     The kids gave him a half-hearted agreement, expected of a young group of pre-teens. While Ron was sure most were here on their own accord, there were those that weren’t. And they weren’t afraid to let their feelings known.

     No matter. Ron knew he could make it fun for his charges. At least, he hoped he could.

     “Now, behind you is the list of cabins on the board,” Cliff continued. “Go find your cabin and get settled in. Then head to the mess hall for lunch.

     The campers headed to the bulletin board, eager to find out which one of the six cabins they were assigned to. Each cabin had six campers in it, with a counselor acting as their de facto leader for the session.

     The six counselors, four men, and two women, stood around, holding up signs directing the kids to their respective cabins. Ron was number 5, a good number, if you asked him. As he stood, he glanced over at the counselor for cabin 3, a cute blonde named Ellie.

     Ron had only recently met Ellie, and already he got on great with her. She was funny, smart, nerdy as all get out (like Ron), and she was gorgeous to boot. Really gorgeous. To Ron, she was perfect.

     Of course, she didn’t know he thought that way about her. Heck, she probably had a boyfriend. She’d never date a guy like Ron.

     Before long, the campers found their cabins and met up with their respective counselor. Ron led his group to their cabin, or really their tent, a simple seven-person tent on a platform down a path.

     “Alright, pick whatever bed you want,” Ron instructed the six boys under his care.

     “Are there bears here?” one of them asked.

     “Not that I’ve seen,” Ron answered as the boys chose which bed they wanted.

     The boys hurried and picked their beds, thankfully with minimal arguments. The group then made their way to the mess hall for lunch: make your own subs with all the fixings.

     “Good group we got this year,” Mindy, the other female counselor, remarked as Ron sat down at the table with his plate of food.

     “I already got one girl asking about bears,” Ellie said.

     “Same here,” Ron said with a chuckle. “Is that a common thing?”

     “They ask about all kinds of stuff,” Ellie said. “I had one girl last year think zombies were going to attack us.”

     The table erupted in laughter at that.

     “Zombies?” Ron asked. “I would think they’d be more worried about serial killers than zombies.”

     “Kids get scared about anything,” Mindy remarked.

     Ellie nodded in agreement. She reached for the paper towel roll on the table as Ron was, their hands touching. Ron’s brown ones met Ellie’s blue ones; neither of them moved.

     Mindy gave them a knowing look. It looked like it wouldn’t just be the kids that would be having a summer fling here at Camp Whacki Weechi this year.

Since the last one was a bit of a shitpost, and this one is pretty straightforward to answer, I'll reblog this, as well.

The price of the DLC is something that hasn't been announced, but realistically, it won't be higher than what the base game had. Is it technically possible, that the devs might come out, saying something along the lines of "The scope of the DLC is vastly larger than the basegame", and use it as a justification to attach a 40-60 dollar price tag? It... could be, but RW has already gotten a price increase, for the sake of future content (such as Watcher). And attaching an enormous price to a DLC is something that really doesn't strike me as the kind of thing Videocult would do, so it's highly unlikely. My bets are in the 10-20 range.

And if my predictions are correct, then I'll almost definitely be able to afford it, when it releases. Not to mention, the unique marketing, the idea of exploring an area that is completely separated from the grounds of LttM and FP, and the large focus on the ecosystem/environment, rather than whacky abilities, quests and power fantasies... it very much feels like it's going to be a spiritual successor to the base game, compared to DP's approach of being a fun adventure game for those who wanted a little more out of RW (not to discredit all the awesome things the DLC has added, it's just clear that its designers had very different goals, and very different approaches, than the ones who made the base game). And considering how much I loved and enjoyed the base game, this very much seems like the kind of thing I don't want to miss out on. So yeah, like most others here, I'll be getting it right when it releases! (And I really doubt I'll change my mind about this, but I suppose we'll see.)

I read through the addams!reader tag and I love it so much!! It made me happy stimm.

I was thinking of if max came over for a visit and maybe the party comes along to bc the reader met some of them before they left with Billy. I think it would be fun to see all their reactions the the family!

Okay so I’m imagining that Max has met at least reader before you and Billy took off, so she’s got an idea of how all of this might go down even if she hasn’t been to the house yet. She’s a lot more prepared and therefore way less shocked than the rest of the party, and whenever they totally freak out about something, she just acts all cool and tough and rolls her eyes like “YEAH it’s a disembodied HAND it’s not THAT cool” even though she totally thinks Thing is super cool lol

The whole Addams family would be looking at the party like oh…they look very…like they wear khaki pants 😬 like you know the “but Debbie…pastels?” Line from Values? That, but it’s like “but Michael…a Hawaiian shirt? With those shorts?” But they’re not gonna say anything. They just think they have unfortunate fashion senses.

Morticia is definitely more perceptive than Gomez, and she would totally clock that something is bothering Will. Whether it’s gay panic or upside down related or both, she would get him to talk about it. They would all be so fascinated by the concept of the upside down and just want to vacation there IMMEDIATELY

They would also have so much fun with El’s powers. I don’t think they would be shocked, they would just think they’re super fun—besides, there’s probably someone in the extended family with some sort of telekinesis, so they’re not all that surprised. The party would be taken aback by how chill they are, because they would be trying to hide all the whacky shit they’ve got going on while they Addamses are like “lmaoooooooooo let’s go dig up our dead relatives for fuuuuuuuuuunnn”

The party would also be absolutely flabbergasted by a healthier, more well adjusted Billy. Even if Max ever told them about what Neil used to be like with him, I feel like they would still hold a lot of resentment towards him because they all view him as Max’s shitty stepbrother who beat the hell out of Steve. When he walks in, all nicely dressed because he can DO that now without Neil calling him a pussy, with a glass of expensive wine instead of a can of cheap beer, they almost don’t believe it’s him…and they find that he’s WAY more relaxed and easier to talk to, because he isn’t on edge and upset all the time. So somehow, Billy acting so normal is strange, and that makes him fit in with this entire strange house and this strange family that keeps trying to feed them strange things

Wednesday and Pugsley would be more the Party’s age, so they’d be hanging out. They’d have some things in common, and I feel like they would play a very wild D&D oneshot in which Wednesday ends up with a super overpowered character somehow who destroys the entire campaign lol

Hey, it's Mutt! My computer of six years fell apart without warning yesterday (6/7/21). I made the world's worst graphic on my friend's Mac for this (sorry!). I'm trying to job hunt and recover from losing my temporary job that would've helped with July's rent. Collage Commission Info I've collected hundreds of magazines, comics, books, vintage publications, and other materials; I can make collages with a wide variety of themes. I like to do poetry on them, but I can do compilations of subjects without words, too. Some examples of ones I've done are up above, but there are more at this link.

Surprise Custom: You pay me for a collage, I go wild, and then I ship it off to you. This option is for people who might want a collage from me but aren't really sure what they want/don't have any specifics. ($35.)

Pet Portrait Commission Info

You give me references of a pet or animal character you want drawn with an attention to detail (I can do anthros, too!), and I send it out to you. These are always done at 9 x 12 so you can easily frame them! Most of my art is done digitally, so I don't have a lot of examples on hand, but you can check out my art tag at this link to see what I can do.

$80 for pencil drawings on mixed media paper.

$100 for colored pieces done with Prismacolor pencils accented by Tombow markers or watercolor on mixed media paper.

Additional characters/pets in the same piece will be +$40 and +$60 respectively, so a pencil portrait with two characters will be $120, three will be $160, and so on.

Marker Page Commission Info The last three pictures are examples of marker pages. These are experimental and design-based. You give me a theme or a concept or a creature and I'll fill up a page of ideas for it! Colorful, fun, more whacky stuff than the realism of my other portraits. The last picture is just another reference for what I can come up with design-wise, but the colors will be done in marker the way the previous two references are! ($40.)

The Morning After (Werewolf In London? sequel)

I finally managed it! This is a sequel to Werewolf In London? which I wrote after this fun little idea took off for a lot of you guys!

Ugh, Jack felt terrible.

It wasn’t that uncommon, the last night of the full moon was always the worst. It seemed like the universe had it out for him at the end, but now he had twenty-seven days to just meander about and do his usual thing.

Well, he usually did. 

Despite wanting to lie on this very comfortable bed, it occurred to the man that it was not the bed he should be waking up on. With a groan, he cracked an eye open, and it took a second for the room to come into focus. The apartment was a decent size for whatever city they were in, with bookshelves lining the room, and despite those books were piled on various surfaces with abandon, and with his heightened smell, Jack already adored the smell of aging pages. He could also smell the oil and metal of weapons, and hoped they weren’t ready to be used as he slowly pushed himself into a sitting position. The clothes he wore, just some boxers overlaid with sweatpants, were quite welcome, and he had long stopped caring if people saw him naked.

“Hello? Are you alright in there?” A soft voice had Jack snapping over to look towards the small kitchen in the flat. There was a man he apparently hadn’t noticed, hunched in on himself slightly as he waved, half hiding behind a fish tank. 

“I have been better.” The Mexican man shrugged, finally sitting upright with his feet over the side of the bed. “Where…?”

“Oh, you’re in my flat. My name’s Steven, and yours?” The man is still keeping his distance, but Jack can smell the coffee he’s holding and can’t help but eye it. “Cream?”

“Black is fine.” Jack flashes a smile, and Steven pads over, handing over the warm liquid. “Thank you.”

“Don’t mention it yea?” 

“Jack, my name is Jack.” Oh this was some good coffee, Jack downing almost half the cup before letting out a happy sigh. “So eh, what happened last night?”

“You um, uh…” Steven seemed at a loss of what to say, and Jack just gives him a smile. “You’re a werewolf.”

“Si, I am. Usually only for a few days, then I’m me.” He takes another sip, subtly taking in the smells of the flat again. Now that he’s gotten some caffeine in his system, he can smell the fish from the tank, some tofu in the fridge Jack would definitely love to sample, and the scent of…sand? No, more than just sand, the scent of old stones and aged metal, which is very much not normal. He’s torn from his investigation when Steven starts to giggle to himself, and Jack looks lost.

“I’m sorry, but you’re a werewolf, in London. I’ve been laughing myself silly about that all night.” Jack just snorted into his coffee, having been ridiculed far too many times over the years over that.

“You’re not the first, and not the last. Though I was in Ireland, or I had been, so this is uh, not to plan.” He must have been able to get free, and knew Ted was going to admonish him once he got home.

Sigh

“No wonder you were uh, not as angry as you coulda been? You had to be exhausted runnin’ all the time.” Steven carefully worded, clearly trying not to offend. Jack waved his worry away, draining the last of his cup.

“Say, mind if I have some of your tofu?” 

“Of course!” The Brit seemed delighted by the fact, and Jack takes the time to shower while Steven cooks. He feels a bit bad when dirt and leaves clog the drain for a moment, knowing that the bed had to be changed. It was nice, however, to have a hot shower, he would probably be limping his way home naked had Steven not found him. The smell of sand is particularly strong when he emerges from behind the folding door, and he unconsciously bares his canines for a moment. 

“You alright mate?” Steven called, looking at him with curiosity and a bit of shock. 

“I…I think so.” Jack awkwardly cleared his throat, and the intense smell of the desert fades when he takes a step forward. The tofu dish distracts Jack enough, the man eating slowly as Steven puttered around the flat. “You know, you’re taking having a werewolf in your apartamento very well.”

“I suppose? The ah, supernatural doesn’t shock us much mate.” He remarked with a small snort, and Jack does not miss the plural. “I’m just glad you didn’t wake up screaming and the like.”

“Oh no, the day after is always the pain and the soreness.” Jack groaned, looking into his drink miserably. “When your body has to adjust, bones get broken and healed. Still aches in the morning though, especially my back.”

“Oh, I can relate.” Steven winced sympathetically. “Remind me to tell you about the time we fell out of a window and landed on a car, right in the spot with the least armor. Couldn’t walk for a good day.”

“You fell out a window and survived?” Jack blinked, and the smell of the desert has now returned and settled behind Steven.

Jack was too old to be dealing with this.

“Mhm, we have…a good suit that helps.” 

“Why do you say we?” Steven froze, and Jack felt a little guilty. 

“I, um…” The man seemed to be grasping at straws, and Jack’s lips twitch when the smell intensifies. Jack has been around long enough to know something was there, and fragmented memory of last night filters through his mind.

Steven is cast in white, but speaks with a different accent. He feels like the moon, spilling with the power his wolf side craved, but is calmed by. The wolf likes this feeling, and plays with the man bathed in white.

“Did you play fetch with me?” Jack blurted out suddenly, feeling absolutely mortified and confused.

“Er…yes?” Jack just stares at Steven, and isn’t sure how this random man had accomplished such a feat.

You are both children of the moon, it makes sense your bestial half would not wish for violence

Steven was very much expecting Jack not to hear Khonshu, but the man clearly did. He tilted his head, and Steven can just imagine dog ears perked up as if they were there.

“You serve a god? I know some of them are on earth, but hijo de la luna is a new one to be called.” Jack shrugged, eyes trained fairly close to the place where Khonshu was currently hovering.

“You can hear him?”

“And smell, he smells of the desert. Don’t care much for the desert, too much sand.” Jack pulled a face, and Steven can’t help but laugh.

“Oh mate you’ve no idea, we’ve had to venture into a few, and the sand is the worst.” Steven finally joined him at the table, and Jack smiled.

Steven Grant turned out to be an absolute gem, he and Jack talked until the werewolf figured he needed to head home. Steven gives him some clothes for the journey, and when he offers to pay, he just asks Jack to come back for a visit. Jack can do that, it’s been a long time since he’s had someone he already considers a friend, and has a pep to his step as he makes his way to catch a bus back home.

Ted is unimpressed when he finally makes it home, but pats the top of Jack’s head when he speaks of his new friend.

Currently going to school for chemistry with a math minor (also I got a 94% on that biochem test!!!) I also work at a thrift store on weekends, sometimes cashier and sometimes sorting through donations (sometimes the weirdest shit ends up at that store lmao)

What do you go to school for?

That’s awesome! My grandma actually works at a thrift store run by her church too! Thrift stores are a big thing where I live and I have seen some whacky shit. Even at her store I think I literally saw like a paper plate craft with googly eyes and was like. Is that. For sale. Is someone gonna buy that. I actually got a few things last time I was there though, my mom got some books, I got a shirt I’d been looking for and some craft stuff, and she bought us a sewing machine which was super sweet of her (we just haven’t used it yet, been too busy tbh).

Oof I wanted to be in a BA of Science but I suck at math. My teacher is trying to convince me to go to med school and I’m like but I’m not smart enoooough (in that area). NGL though she has me thinking about looking into it.

Right now I’m going to school for psychology. There are definitely ways to double-major in psych and med school. I just watched a video last night where the YouTuber hosted a neuropathic psychologist. I did actually try and take a nuero-something class online for one of those like free Harvard classes but it was a LOT different (and harder) than I expected.

So, TL;DR, psychology but I might reconsider looking into more med-school type things (I’m already taking some nursing classes just for fun).
