IT'S FUN SEEING IT FIT IN THE MOVIE LATER ON #the twist of there being two bodies was so fun tho cause at the start of the movie i was sure two murders happened the same night #so when it was played off as just one i was like Oh. Ok. im still stumped on how he snuck a body out of the apartment #but yk what one detail is like. whatever in comparison to the rest of the movie being fun to watch #god im running out of tags POINT IS. i remember it used to be a bit of a fandom pet peeve of mine that some people would forget that the gung ho guns and eye of michael were two separate groups with some membership overlap but then stampede came along and made the eom into a project of conrad’s backed by knives. another example of how the reboot feels like bad fanfiction.

#the eom worked best as a predominantly shadowy unknown group most closely tied to wolfwood and LR’s stories #i LIKED that we didn’t know who ran it or what their broader goals were outside of what contact they had with knives/the ghg #extradiagetically nightow just didn’t need to explore the eom in detail. they served their narrative purpose.#but i also find stories that try too hard to ask you bonus questions with overexplained answers to be very lame #so while prestampede it was kinda annoying but ultimately excusable to see ghg/eom used interchangeably #the new show cemented it them as interlinked in a way that actually made the story structure much weaker in an attempt to get ahead of you #this is all very much a critique of mine from the perspective of a writer not just a viewer btw #bad writing isn’t always enough to kill something yk. but plot holes are harder to excuse when your themes and structure are lacking #the manga’s Foundations were just much stronger than the reboot’s if you will #you can turn your brain off with this show and just watch the pretty colors if you want. absolutely no shame in that. we need that stuff #i guess i just struggle to accept a no brainer show like this as being another core leg of the story in the way trimax/98 are bc of it #pretentious of me i know.#stampede critical #for my followers that filter it

When a Black person who almost exclusively hangs out with/dates white people complains about being called whitewashed it’s just like…well yes.

You can date and hang out with whoever you want. No one can take your blackness from you. But also there’s a reason why you choose to exclusively hang out with white people lol Bringing attention to it by complaining about the optics feels like denial.

#at first I was like oh it’s probably because she was raised around a lot of white people so that’s what she knows #but even when I tried to be close to her she kind of acted weird around me #and would only talk to me about things like ‘the black girl experience’ because her white friends couldn’t relate #then she moved to a predominantly black city and STILL found only white people to talk to #that’s when it was like ok so that’s just a choice you made lol

i love how real project sekai feels

like yeah nothing about hatsune miku giving therapy to kids through a pocket dimension is realistic but like. everything that happens in the stories is just. ough.

like normally i dont like slice of life stuff that much but something about reading the stories and being able to just relate so easily to them (correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure i heard prsk is kinda geared towards younger audiences/teens so it makes sense) in a way that a lot of media doesnt do for me just hits really hard. especially when they get into the really shitty stuff about being a teenager which they just do it so well. like even if they have to censor some stuff (like wording what is essentially mafuyus suicide attempt as "disappearing") they really dont hold back or water it down to "dont kill yourself youre our friend :(" and mafuyu going "ok yeah ur right im fixed", its just like. it feels good to have a game that doesnt just show highschool through some super happy lense and actually shows what being a teen is like, at least in my experience

is this anything or am i just being a silly teen boy with too many feelings

Ties are such a weirdly archaic garment. Like, in the 1600s men started wearing a silly little scarf in the form of a cravat and never looked back.

#i just started True Detective and the gigantic 90s ties made me think about it #it's weird because most men's clothing is predominantly functional. a button up and slacks are worn by office workers and park rangers.#but the “function” of ties are their symbolism. it's a sign that the man is a professional and/or #is treating the current place/event/present company with respect and gravitas.#as an accessory is very much secondary because a man can wear a plain tie every single day either by choice #or as a part of a uniform and no one thinks twice.

this series is always difficult to summarize concisely, but I will do my best!

the long hair prettymen series you're likely referring to is Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/MDZS/The Untamed! it was originally a BL novel series, but it was also made into a wildly successful live action drama (The Untamed) which was my avenue into the series! it's about the rise and fall of Wei Wuxian, an extremely talented cultivator (sword wizard) who goes from celebrated war hero to reviled necromancer. the series opens with his death and then resurrection 13~16 years later. it's about necromancy and the horrors of war and politics and reputation and the rumor mill and family and sacrifice, but it's also about what if the class clown bad boy and hall monitor valedictorian were madly in love with each other. it's also about one kid having a shit ton of uncles. it's great! I cannot recommend it enough, it's truly a delight to read and watch, even when it's supremely corny. the creator does a fantastic job of balancing humor and tragedy, and the characters make me want to eat drywall

however, the waters may be muddy, because recently I have started posting about another long haired prettyboy series, which is Scum Villain's Self-Saving System! it's another novel series by the same author as MDZS and I'm only halfway through it, but I'm having a great time. it's about a dude getting isekai'd into an absolutely horrible web novel that he obsessively hates, and he gets thrown in the villain's role. it's hysterical, and also has been shredding my heart periodically. but it's mostly very funny, and I'm obsessed with the characters. everyone in this series needs serious help, they're all fucked in the head

in my head daron is just a fancier version of the gray+black coat that foxes and japanese serows have.. and probably others species i dont know of

its the silver n black swag. looks great in real life!

but as an actual flat 2d pattern it fails very miserably at being interesting. even if you used more tones inbetween its still just 2 colors and it cant capture the texture of the fur like in real life.. sob

i love the coat a lot but i also cant seem to apply it to daron. i just cant possibly imagine him not being blue but every time i see this silver n black coat i go thats me!! so cool!! so pretty!!

more aminals should have this coat. faaaar too little silver n black animals its always grey n brown. ew! go silver!!

thinking about my job ! idk man i really really love my job yesterday i went through this girl's maths tests with her just like . bc i was there and i could . (i was off the clock, but only just so i figured i'd just help get her started) and it was sweet !! it was sweet she did really fucking well on one of them and pretty well on another and like idk i really just like teaching i like being part of these kids' lives and i don't think that i'm a big part of their lives or anything, but i do hope that i can give them a sweet moment here or there......... it's just nice i like it i'm so grateful i was able to find and get this job i am so happy that this is something i get to do

#this kid got 100% on like a test-esque type thing that's part of the program we use on friday and i was so proud of him #like it was INSANE my entire day was made because of it and i got to like congratulate him and he was so like . shy but happy about it #and like . idk !!! i just really fucking love it <3 that kid told me the other day that he needed a rubber to erase my face cuz it was so #ugly and then like 5 minutes later he was like 'i'm sorry i said that' completely unprompted and i was like bro that's alright worse #don't stress ! but thank u i appreciate that . how's ur work going ? idk i just like it i like it all i am so glad for it.......#the irony of me being predominantly an english tutor and this post having 0 proper punctuation but um . that's unimportant .
