i am about to ramble like a crazy person abt the fnaf movie so scroll if u don’t like spoilers

was not expecting all the love on my last post so i will keep posting thoughts abt the movie

another thing that rlly interested me in the movie was the focus on images, how humans process things through what we see rather than context, and how this sets up the fnaf movie trilogy to focus on fnaf 4 in the next movies.

the most obvious example is abby, we’re explicitly told that children communicate and understand things through pictures, which mike sorta shrugs off until he starts seeing the bigger picture. this then applies to the animatronics when he learns that they are also children and incredibly influenced by the drawings in their environment. the restaurant in the movie is very much a living thing of its own, the way it thrums to life when abby enters, and the animatronics know the truth of the drawing the second it is pinned up, and the animatronics are an extension of that.

a less obvious example is mike. even though he shrugs off abby’s teacher, and the point she makes about him being at the centre of all her pictures, he is much the same. it isn’t just children who are influenced by images. he has been returning to the same image every night for we don’t even know how long, the same picture of the nebraskan trees, the same perfect family picture he describes to vanessa, the same image of his brother looking at him out of the car window. everything he does is a result of this image. he is wholly consumed by it, believes he can somehow change the picture and see the truth beneath it if he just tries hard enough.

the ghost children, specifically golden freddy, change the image for him in an attempt to placate him into giving them abby, but no matter if he dreams of a happy family, it wont change the truth of what happened. just like how pasting a picture of five children happily holding hands with a golden bunny won’t change the truth underneath. images are fallible, they don’t tell the truth and we cannot trust our brains.

firstly i think this is a really fun direction to take in context to how the movie humanises the animatronics. fnaf 1 is a game made entirely of scary, still images of the animatronics, save for the jumpscares and foxy’s run. the lore is sparse and entirely given through exposition (if i hear one more person complain abt vanny only being there for exposition and not phone guy’s two minute loredump at the start of every night in the game i will lose it), and we know nothing other than that our death is imminent.

but the truth is that these animatronics are kids. they’re scared and lost and confused and cannot understand what has happened. underneath bonnie in the west hallway camera and freddy staring at you from the showtime room are terrified kids doing what they feel they have to. the movie was incredibly dedicated to showing that these kids still want to build pillow forts and sing to music and tickle their friends and be a family and i think it was a great choice.

i think all this focus on images is definitely a perfect lead into fnaf 4 (im not 100% on my book lore but i believe there are three books that cover fnaf 1, fnaf 4 and then sister location??) especially with the recent lore update that all of fnaf 4 is hallucinations. we don’t need a lore explanation of how the nightmares could be real because… they aren’t. following the game timeline, fnaf 4 would have already happened by now but we could easily see a return to it through mike, especially if the schmidt-emily or schmidt-afton theories are true and mike could have been the child in fnaf 4 but surpressed his memories. firstly we have a protagonist who is already on sleeping medication and has dreams that can be easily manipulated. this is a perfect setup for the nightmare animatronics to start making themselves known.

i also think that fnaf 1 was intentionally visually tame. the themes of the movie are actually very dark, they don’t shy away from the truth of the bodies being hidden in the suits, the animatronics Very Brutally kill the burglars, max is literally bitten in half and her body is hidden away, but the on-screen gore keeps it pg. this 100% allows them to experiment further with the levels of gore, tension and violence if they do fnaf 4, because quite frankly some of the nightmares are horrifying.

TLDR this movie sets up a million directions and theories that the next one could go in, and theres nothing the fnaf fandom loves more than vague lore and theory crafting

Anyways, take Morro from an AU i created in my head, theres no other content of it other then half completed stories in my notes/word documents and this post.

If anyone rlly wants me to, i can go more into depth of this AU and give it a name. But for now, all you need to know is that its mainly canon compliant, just with a few changes to the story of Morro and then the actual canon divergence starts during the merge. Morro in this drawing is still a ghost, but in this AU to differentiate departed ghosts from cursed, cursed ghosts look like how they did in the show and Morro’s og design, but departed ghosts tend to look more like how they did when they were alive (with some differences and yknow, being see- through)

this is my comprehensive guide to acne

my qualifications: years ago i had a guy take a picture of me and play connect the dots on my face (it was actually pretty funny and i made fun of him too bc he was 5’1 so it’s okay)

first of all don’t pop ur pimples for the love of god, i know everyone says that but what could likely happen is a short term problem can turn into a long term problem with scarring and damage to the skin barrier due to trauma to that surface layer of the skin, instead use things like pimple patches, most brands that make those cute colorful ones don’t really stick to the skin and so they are practically useless, a pimple patch is supposed to mimic a hydrocolloid bandage which draws liquid out of a wound, if the patch isn’t sticking well to the skin because you didn’t clean the area of skin first or the patch just isn’t very high quality again it is going to be practically useless, also micro dart patches are great, the micro darts go into the pimple and so not only are u drawing out the sebum, u are also putting whatever acne fighting substance into that pimple, my favorite brand for these is hero cosmetics, u can also use a hot/cold compress on the pimple to draw it to a head which will help ur products work better on that pimple

now for the nerdy stuff, chemical exfoliants are ideal at least for me because they aren’t physically abrasive like a scrub which again can cause trauma to the skin and then possible scarring, the ingredients that u want to look for that will chemically exfoliate the skin and help acne are benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, glycolic acid and others, u don’t need expensive products, pay attention to the ingredients and find one without fragrance and has the ingredients you want, and for acne scarring other than the ones i mentioned which are more focused on helping acne but also can help scarring are vitamin c, niacinamide, azelaic acid, vitamin a and others, my favorites are panoxyl products with benzoyl peroxide, and ordinary has some good things for glycolic acid and others

now the way u treat ur body can have a big impact on ur skin, i won’t tell u to drink water bc i think someone might stab me for it and i wouldn’t blame them but rlly it won’t hurt, fueling ur body and having a balanced diet can be huge, this doesn’t mean cutting things out for the most part it means adding things in like healthy fats and protein, this can help balance hormones which are huge factors in acne, also if u have a period u can consider going on birth control, again it can rlly help balance ur hormones and talk to ur doctor about one that specifically has been known to help acne, now if u can go to see a derm it’s a good choice, they can prescribe treatments at a higher concentration than u can get over the counter, they can also give u things like antibiotics which can be very beneficial and aren’t likely to have side effects, but they might recommend things like accutane and spirolactone, these are more likely to have side effects and u mostly can’t get anything like it without a dermatologists permission, this will likely mean blood tests, pregnancy tests and regular visits to check up on ur overall health because they can be very abrasive treatments

finally, wearing sunscreen and keeping ur skin moisturized are going to be huge, sun exposure can worsen acne scarring and most of these treatments are very drying so on top of sun exposure ur skin is also constantly being dried out, if u are nervous about breaking out from a sunscreen then do ur research on the ingredients and others experiences, also u can get tinted sunscreen or bb cream with SPF in it so that u can have some coverage of acne or scaring while also protecting ur skin from further damage

i’m sure i missed some things so if u have questions i’ll do my best to answer, i know how frustrating this can be which is why i made this post, remember that the way that u look is the least important thing about u and that u will never see urself the way others see u, it isn’t even close to as big of a deal as we think it is just like any other physical insecurity

You two work together rlly well though! Often doing tricks together to get through parkour, it feels almost flawless w/ how well you two work together. Even off screen, you two come up with really good ideas for scenes and scripts

I was gonna give him more eyes but I got lazy I am gonna rant abt the watchers and stuff under the cut cause I really love my version of the watchers and have been dying to share how I view the silly eye cryptid.

Watcher rant ^^ (This wasn’t proof read btw so gl)

Sooooo Ima start off with talking abt the drawing I made, so this is watcher Grian aka Xelqua (Fun fact, Xelqua was Grians old name for his channel) and basically this would be considered their causal watcher form because DUN DUN DUNN they have a few diff types so they have a base form (so player disguises) semi-base form (player disgue + watcher features) lowest of watcher form (basically just what is shown in the peice here just less wings and eyes) their causal form (the one shown here in this piece) and thennn full form which is some creepy biblically accurate “humanoid” cyrptid creature.

There’s 5 types of watchers, low rank (usually newly turned ones) mid rank (most common one) high rank (woah your stupid for trusting these creatures this much 💀) pure watchers (blipped into existence as watchers) and then prime watchers (also blipped into existence but hold a lot more power, knowledge, wings, eyes, just rlly a lot more of everything tbh.)

The ranking system is based off skill, power, and reputation ig?? (it’s a odd one ok-) the easiest way I can explain it is it being the opposite to the feduel system so you can move up ranks you just can’t become a pure or prime watcher for obvious reasons.

Watchers usually only have 3 pairs of wings at most, pure watchers having abt 5 and prime watchers are undetermined. Their tails usually include some wings so a pure watcher might have one or two sets of wings on their tail with max for them being three and normal watchers very rarely have wings on their tails but will only have one pair if they do. (I am so not hinting at anything with this very specific thing noooo Grians wing number is soooo normal ;D)

This a bit of a odd one but they like don’t reproduce, pure watchers and prime watchers are just blipped into existence every now and again and taken care of by the previous generation of watchers and stuff.

Watchers can also be any species/hybrid so for example for example I usually base Grian off a great horned owl or rarely another owl I can’t remember the name of (I think it’s a long or short eared owl I sometimes base him off of idk) but anyway so watchers can be moth hybrids, phantoms, bats, anything but if the creature is non winged it’s eh a lot more painful to get turned because lets just say they give you wings you didn’t know you had :,)

Grians actually missing his eyes like his main eyes on his face like he has zero vision in those and usually tucks them away by covering his face with his main pair of head wings or the ones on top of his head but he wasn’t born blind it was more so a “freak accident” that made his eyes like that. He still sees tho through the rest of his watcher eyes because with his watcher type he can use more magic to hide things so he keeps his “extra” eyes out and makes them invisible and use those to see.

Hello!! I can’t remember if you’ve said this before but in what situations would vita not be smiling? Bc I feel like she does a lot, but if she was, for a completely hypothetical example, alone in the prison dimension, are there times she would have more of a forlorn or even blank expression? Or would girlie just be grinning all the time?

I don’t believe I’ve answered this and I gotta say I rlly like this question!!

Well this is quite long so under the cut it goes!

For your completely hypothetical example:

If she were completely alone, yeah, blank expression, head empty, wandering aimlessly. But if she heard the Krang? If she saw a Krang hound in the distance? She’d be grinning ear to ear in seconds. Her mind gets so twisted up in the prison dimension that she’d rather actively search for the Krang than be alone (Mainly because she can’t stand the anticipation of waiting for Prime to find her so instead she finds Prime). She’s also grinning at her own thoughts half the time. I’d say in the prison Dimension (after her breaking point) it was 75% grins, 20% blank/deadpan, and around 5% genuine terror (most of the terror resulted in the grins and laughter which is why it’s not higher than 5%)

But in the very beginning of her time in the prison dimension, when she was what? 12? The only time she’d smile would be when she tried to convince herself that Draxum was coming to save her.

After the prison dimension:

She is practically always smiling, even if it’s not her wide manic grin she’ll have a small, shy smile on her face. She is just so happy to be around people after so many years of isolation that she can’t help it. But there are times when she doesn’t smile, if she’s bored, in awe (like the sunset drawing), concentrated, genuinely sorry or concerned (<- this is rare but it does happen. Usually if she’s sorry or concerned she’ll grin and laugh like she did in the prison dimension but she learns to take things a little more seriously as time goes on with the Hamatos), also times like in chapter 2 “Broken Promises” when she is crying, but more often than not it quickly transforms into hysteria.

She has her moments of sincerity and she has her bad days, in those moments the smile will drop, but most often she’s just a smiley girlie :D

[clarification because why not! When she laughs at horrible circumstances or when she is concerned or sorry, it’s not because she doesn’t understand how serious it is, she knows it’s messed up, but she thinks is funny how messed up the situation is. Like when she was laughing at the fact she forgot her own name, she thought it was hilarious that she was so broken as to forget her own name. And sometimes she does just think it’s funny. for instance, when the turtles view Raph being Krangified as such an awful thing, she thinks it’s funny because she has been Krangified more times than she can count, so being Krangified once isn’t bad at all in her mind. Idk if that made any sense at all but I wanted to attempt to explain her fun lil bit of insanity!]

THIS MAKES ME RLLY HAPPY FRR him being described as made of obsidian was such a fun concept to me bc it meant I could make him look mostly shadowy and featureless in appearance while rlly bringing out the stark detail of his eyes, which are the main drawing point of his design/whole vibe in general hehe

Another aspect of my thought process behind it was also making him parallel my Benevolence design in a number of ways— Bene’s eyes are covered bc he’s blind but his mouth is visible, synonymous with the whole thing abt voices and oration being the power of the Parish, while Koda’s eyes are distinct and visible but he has no mouth, synonymous with his eye imagery and the fact that he doesn’t really have a tangible voice for most of the show, being effectively dead and all, and acts solely through the impulses and sway he has over the Chaperones he’s formed a connection with. I just thought it was a very fun idea :3

- Cater once played this dress up game for fun (or to make some content out of it), got some HARSH constructive criticism, never played again (person who insulted gave him advice was idia)

- Weepy often puts wax on the hair in front of his face to keep it out of his eyes while performing. (totally not based on an oc x canon thing i thought of.)

- Mime Bomb often has makeup residue around his eyes, making him look more tired than he already is. He struggles to get it out and also doesnt see the point bcs 9 times out of 10 hes gonna be hopping on another flight anyway!!!!

- Idia is half filipino. dont try and change my mind YOU CANNOT

- Cater has freckles and used to cover them up around highschool - year one in NRC. maybe because of insecurity or to follow the current "trends". maybe both!!!!!1!1!1!1! probably still does it to this even better if no one actually knows if his freckles are real or nah

- weepy is a jack of all trades, master of none. he'd observe and learn other peoples crafts silently from other people at the circus! even if he's not that good at most of them, he knows the basic stuff.. maybe.

- Cater often puts white eyeliner on to brighten up his eyes!!

- i think idia likes watching those process videos on sculpting and carving, just traditional art in general.

- cater probably likes to deconstruct a bunch of stuff, mainly content-making related things and especially music! I saw someone mention how passionate he seems about music based on the details in his room (might sound like a total idiot rn if those details were disclosed in one of the vignettes or something) so in my heart it seems like something he'd totes do. he's also a very detail oriented person so !1!1!1!1!1

- Joker dislikes popcorn, also smells like stale buttered popcorn(/hj)

This is a rlly fun idea anon, had fun writing this but sorry it’s shorter than u may have liked

Cw) cursing (like one bad word), akito and ena are little shits but we love them, plot twist at the end 🙀(it’s not that cool)

Being the youngest Shinonome can be very… interesting… sometimes. Of course, it’s a regular family at the end of the day. But days like these made you question how normal your siblings were. If they were normal to begin with, that is.

“(Name), tell us, who’s your favorite? I promise Akito won’t get mad if you say me!”

It was a random question from Ena, there was no build up nor expectation for her to ask that, making you spit out the water you were drinking. Akito looked annoyed at you and his older sister, wanting to finish his dinner before this could escalate.

“That’s random- uh- I don’t have a favorite? You’re both just… there. My siblings.”

Now Akito was intrigued, what did you mean you don’t have a favorite? You had to have one! And it had to be him, he thought. After all, in his eyes, all Ena does is treat you like her personal fashion doll and art reference, you had to have been annoyed at this, right?

Ena, however, thought it had to be her, and you were only trying to spare Akito’s feelings. She wouldn’t believe for a second you actually enjoy Akito teaching you all about these different street musicians and watching clips with him. You had to be bored around him. Besides, his personality is too aggravating!

“Well- you gotta have a preference at least. Who do you like spending more time around? Me, or Akito…”

The way ‘Akito’ rolled off her tongue with annoyance made you aware this was definitely a competition between the two of them, and not just a fun question. But you weren’t letting either of them win- not without seeing a good fight.

“Ena, clearly it’s me. I bring back clothes I see at my work that (Name) may like all the time, and I teach them all about street music. I’m expanding their interests and giving them crap, it’s me!”

“Or maybe they’re just trying to pare your feelings! Unlike you, I try to spend quality time with (Name), they’ll be my reference for a drawing and they appreciate it! Also, the clothes you bring back for them look like shit.”

personally I feel like my anatomy is still very much lacking🧍‍♂️I think im a bad person to ask for advice bc I HATEEEE doing studies and stuff like that. im just soooooo . lazy. and don’t want to do it at all 😋 here r a handful of v general art things that I found most helpful:

1. I abandoned lineart completely bc I feel like it sucked the life out of my sketches ! if I want a more polished look (which I rarely do) ill just clean up the sketch a bit but I never ever do line art 🙅‍♀️ never feel like ur obligated to do a set in stone art process (ig sketch lineart color shading blah blah) ,, maybe that’s bad advice but letting all that go rlly helped me. similarly I don’t like using body guidelines/face guidelines when I draw bc I feel like it makes poses stiff!!! i kind of just dive right in (which is y i think my anatomy suffers a bit whoopsie)

2. I love references 😋 I basically doom scroll Pinterest to get inspo, and don’t feel limited by “art specific” guides and whatnot. other people’s art/regular pics of people just like standing around r so helpful too . like im suchhhhh a proponent of just straight up redrawing someone’s art that u love in private for ur own benefit and learning (without posting it obvi/posting with credit)!!

3. related to references, i usually start every drawing session (?) w very little and quick croquis of fashion pics on Pinterest! I try to make them mini so that it forces me to not go into detail and just focus on overall body shapes and curves .. that can help take a little pressure off each individual part, and it’ll help make ur stuff look more natural 🧑‍🍳

that’s kind of it .. once again omg please don’t take this as professional/good advice bc I know my process can be improved a lot 😭😭😭 this is just coming from a lazy girl that has absolutely no patience for doing muscle studies/light studies or anything else so I still have work to do!!!! but def if u want to know more abt a part of the process (or specifically abt anatomy/muscles bc i feel like I didn’t have much to offer….) more specifically feel free to reach out again !! privately or thru my inbox, either works!

i am by no means a professional and i’m mostly self taught so take what i say with a grain of salt lol, but here’s some tips that helped me personally!

it also rlly depends what stage you’re at but i think these are just general tips that may be helpful :)

1. experiment! it’s very important to step out of your comfort zone and i still have a lot of trouble with that one, trying new things like techniques and styles is hard, but it’s so rewarding once you start to get the hang of something new

like seriously experimenting was SO helpful to me, that’s how you discover things. especially with things like brushes, textures, layer settings, shading, don’t knock it till you try it!

2. try not to get too caught up in replicating other people’s styles or methods especially in tutorials, i would often try to copy people’s exact steps and get frustrated when i couldn’t do it, think of tutorials more as a general guide than a concrete method. put your own spin on it!

3. take inspiration from other artists you like, one thing i did was gather up lots of drawings from my favorite artists and made a list of specific elements that i liked, to try them out for myself and see what worked and what didn’t

4. don’t compare yourself to other artists, i still have trouble with this, we’re all going on our own path and comparison can really bring you down and bum you out

5. depending on what you wanna do with art, don’t take it too seriously! especially if it’s just for fun or a hobby, there’s always room to improve but remember at the end of the day you’re doing it for you and you shouldn’t d work yourself to the bone

6. have fun! be silly with it, draw whatever you want and what makes you happy, i used to hold back drawing so many things out of some fear of being ‘cringe’ but who cares! if you’re not hurting anyone draw what you want!
