Jack isn't used to this display of affection at all. Not even once in his life he happened to be trated this way - so lovingly. The last time someone behaved that way towards him it was his mother, and it didn't end well. Her colours weren't genuine, Jack discovered it too late, yet the same didn't seem to apply to you. When you first met him after his match, since Brunhilde had asked you to check on the injured human fighters, you brought him home-made sweets and talked non-stop about how cool he had been during his match - despite he could clearly tell by the colours you shown how upset you were because of Heracles' death. He could lso notice how you weren't mad at him for winning. Thanks to him, humankind was a step closer to its salvation after all. He suggested eating those sweets with some tea. After that first meeting, eating sweets made by you, whether it was a cake, cookies or anything else, with a tea flavour that suited them most became a habit for you. On these occasions he would get to admire new shades of colours, one day you were happy and excited, the day after worried and anxious, then you were shining brightly again - it was a rainbow of colours he had never got to see this close before. Growing up, he neved had the chance to eat many sweets. It was something he rarely got to eat on special occasions, when his mother had earned enough money - which happened quite early. Low-quality sweets were all she could afford to buy, yet he would eat as if they were the most delicious thing in the world, believing them to be a demonstration of his mother's love. Jack had completely misunderstood at that time. For the first time, while you were telling him about the latest new in the Heavens after offering him some heart-shaped cookies, Jack understood what it meant for something be baked with love. Those sweets were surrounded by that same bright colour you emanated - warm and kind, it almost brought tears to his eyes. He never knew something could taste the way what you cooked did.

Nnoitra headcanon and stuff?

I'm more the canon-compliant type and do not have big headcanon a part from few things.

1) I think Nnoitra is a very immediate kind of person. I read many hc and fics where he is super tormented behind his grim and sadistic facade... btw, I think he is rather matter-of-factly in his drives and decisions. He likes to win, he doesn't mind to cheat to gain the upper hand, he is arrogant but upfront. If you ever read von Clausewitz, he is that crystal clear, cruel and unapologetic kind of "upfront". The real desperation comes from accepting and embracing the nonsensical violence that comes with the strive for survival. I respect that in him.

2) I think he doesn't obsess that much about sex and speaks about it more than he actually practices it. Btw, he likes his sex torrid and dirty, and clearly revolving around dynamics of submission-control, exactly because he is fine with violence and brutality and accepts them as part of the game.

Also, dirty talker af, likes to see how much he can arouse his partner.

3) I have this idiotic hc that he is the only Espada capable of sexual reproduction, exactly because of the desperate self-assertiveness of his personality.

4) I don't think his mysoginy is real. Yammy Yargo's is. When he says Neliel and Tesla Lindocruz he detests women fighting, I think he is being tranchant and over-semplifying feelings he simply doesn't care to explore.

5) I think he truly detests two things about women: a) women can bring life in their womb. This is how much opposite to despair as you might think. b) Women generally get protected and their lovers tend to fight for them: this is despicable, in Nnoitra's view, as he doesn't accept or either stand the "optimistic" implication of love and protection. If you are bereaved of all hopes, you will likely despise and spurn anything people generally hope for or that gives them strenght to thrive.

6) I have this headcanon he is too thin and someone sooner or later will try to feed him, the granny "Are you eating enough, son?" kind of feeding, you know. I'm Italian, food is love, feeding is caring.

7) I think he is fine with his nudity, perhaps a bit of an exhibitionist, too.

8) Everything about him is big. Yes, that thing too.

9) He has a strong but not unpleasant scent, like... salty, you know, like wet seasand.

10) Seems like he would listen a lot of low-quality rap music and probably delve into trashy whatever.

11) He is the guy sending you pics of ghastly and/or offensive/blasphemous things just for the sake of ruining your day.

12) His car would be big, noisy and annoying, an old bull-barred Jeep or so.

13) I see him more like a cat person. Perhaps he could even show a decent behaviour to his pet.

14) Seems a rather unexpensive dude, not minding to have costy dresses or such.

15) Has a taste for bitter stuff like 99% cocoa.

16) Good with hands. Yeah, in that sense too but I meant more like fixing stuff, tinkering, ecc.

17) Cannot sing decently or even play ant instrument, but is an excellent dancer.

18) Loves kids toys, they fascinate him.

Hello tumblr! I recently started playing clangen (took me long enough), and after playing on this GooseClan world for 120 moons I decided that the story had been so silly that I would make a comic out of it. (btw: GooseClan was a randomly generated name, sorry if anyone else with a comic is using the same clan name)

I've already drawn all 120 moons worth of the comic so I'm going to be posting daily updates for the next couple weeks.

This comic is meant to be very silly and low quality compared other people's clangen comics (I drew the whole thing in a week and a half), so please do not have high expectations.

Squalo has trouble managing his stress because his ego is humungous and he prides himself in his accomplishments, especially in regards to his ability to kick ass and get shit done. He is an overachiever with high standards for himself and he still works himself as if he is the official leader of the Varia (what he originally was meant to be, and might as well be, granted Xanxus is anti-paperwork and often anti-owning up to his responsibilities as boss.. y’all give Mr. Superbia a raise or else).

He’s adopted certain self-care rituals to wind down whenever he has free time, including (but not limited to) polishing his blades, spending some quality time with Alo, taking a nice long hot shower or soaking in the bath with a classic book (the art of war), and washing and brushing his hair.

I personally think that he��d be more low energy outside of work, but it doesn’t mean that he isn’t just as prone to having an outburst and yelling about something, anything, at the drop of a hat.

The rattling of keys captures your attention as the tall silver-haired swordsman discards them onto the dresser. He pads lightly into the room towards you, rolling out his shoulders silently, tilting his head side to side in a poor attempt to stretch his stiff neck muscles.

“Ah, you’re back, Squ-?!” Your greeting is interrupted by your face colliding with his sternum as he slumps against you, an arm snaking around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder.

“Long day, huh..?” You mumble empathetically as you reciprocate the embrace, softly brushing your hand over the small of his back in an attempt to soothe him.

“No fuckin’ shit, [y/n].” He grumbles, clearly not in the mood to elaborate.

You lean against him in understanding, nuzzling your nose against the crook of his neck. Ideas float around in your head around how to take his mind off of the day he just had.

[1] You offer to run a bath just as a simple act of service to start the wind-down process for him.

The faucet spills hot water noisily into the porcelain tub and you catch yourself daydreaming as you stare into the frothing and bubbling liquid. You hear the door creak open and come back into reality, eyes moving quickly to meet the gaze of the man entering the bathroom.

“Hey! It’s almost ready..” you dip your arm in to about mid-forearm depth and swish the water around to feel for the temperature. “...salt?”

He grumbles an affirmative as he brushes out his hair in the mirror, threading slender fingers through the silver locks. His hair is always so pretty.. Oops, that’s enough salt..

You finish mixing in the Epsom salts, feeling soothed by the calm movement of your hand through the warm water. “Perfect,” you comment, lifting your limb out and shaking the excess liquid off, moving away to allow him to enter the bath. He does so, fairly quickly, clearly not in the mood to chat any further.

You read silently over his shoulder, pressing a soft kiss to his temple before you begin to massage the shampoo into his hair, leaning forward to squint at the small text.

“It's so... technical. I don’t know how you find this engaging,” you muse, gently massaging his scalp.

He grunts, turning to retort something and chew you out for being shallow. He is unable to do that, as you tilt your head in to catch his open mouth in a quick kiss before pulling back smugly.

“What the h- what was that for?!”

You giggle and remove your hands from his now thoroughly lathered locks, letting the long strands back down to pool into the waters below. “Sorry,” you murmur, clearly not sorry about shutting him up in that way. “You should save your words, don’t mind me..” your smile reaches your eyes as your hands move to his shoulders this time, squeezing the tense muscles.

“What I mind right now is that you’re not in the water with me,” he grumbles, before setting the book down on the side table and sinking deep into the bath, closing his eyes.

That was your cue to join him. Your nose scrunches and your eyes light up, as you hastily act on that sarcastic request. Relaxing is best when done with someone you love, huh.

[2] What could you offer to make him feel better? A little treat, perhaps. He does enjoy his whisky neat, and prefers it be chilled through the glass or with the specialized stones instead of ice that waters it down.

“Could you use a drink?”

He pulls back from the embrace, and you can almost see the question stewing in his mind, the cogs turning slowly and his brows furrowing.

“Actually, yeah,” he mutters, punctuating it with a slight nod.

You fight back a smile, this was going to be a good night.

Later in the evening, you find yourself lounging on the couch with a wine glass in hand, swishing the red liquid around as your mind wanders... as do your eyes, over your partner resting nearby, after a few glasses of whisky. He is fairly reclined, with his hair draped over the plush fabric and his eyes closed in contemplation.

“Squ..” your head tilts inquisitively. His long hair falls over his shoulder as his head raises from what he was doing. You notice that the first few buttons of his shirt have been undone, and your eyes trail over the way his sleeves are rolled up, exposing his lean forearms. The warmth builds in your cheeks, from the wine, you try to convince yourself.

“[Name],” he exhales audibly as he stands from his seated position. “I can see what you’re thinking..about,” the swordsman mumbles, arms crossing in front of him as he shifts his weight and stands facing you directly.

“Wh.. uh,” you can’t help but be distracted by the way the muscles in his forearm flex with the motion, and he absolutely tracks the way you gawk at his long legs. He feels his ego swell with pride, and this time his head tilts.

“Oi, eyes up here, perv.”

“Oh! Uh, sorry.”

He snorts in amusement, taking steps closer to you, slowly, teasingly. “If you wanted me to unwind by taking it out on you,” the tall man leans over your seated form on the couch, arms caging you in and a knee between your thighs before you’re able to shrink away. “Could have just said so..”

The syrup sweetness and smokiness of the drinks he had linger on his tongue as he kisses you greedily, forcing you to crane your neck back to accommodate him.

"Now that I'm warmed up, I can think of some ways that you can help me relax, actually.." a predatory, shark-like grin dances on his features, illuminated by the dim lighting in the room.

Your puffy lips fall slack as you watch him move, his hands travel down to tug at the buckle of his belt. The sight and sound of the metal clinking as he pulls it loose is certainly... mouthwatering, to say the least.

I'm sure you're entirely sick of talking about this bc that initial anon was... dumb as hell and I too would like to forget about it if I were you lol, so feel free to ignore this ask!! but I just wanted to throw in my two cents as a fellow non-white non-American fantasy writer. cause fantasy as a genre is so insanely whitewashed, and even in settings like TES that have multiple different fantasy-cultures that are meant to draw inspiration from lots of different real-world-cultures, they tend to be shallow and lacking and let's be real, TES isn't getting any awards for being politically correct. I for one always get insanely hyped when I see more diverse takes on fantasy, whether thats in original fiction or fanfiction, cause 1) it just vastly improves the quality of the world building and 2) it creates more welcoming spaces for other bipoc to create more cool stuff. and also, it's just fun as hell to project your own culture into dope fantasy settings. I do it all the time and I fuckin love when other people do it.

Yes yes YES I could hug you! Inclusivity and breaking away from whitewashed fantasy is one of my main goals with this blog! My recipes and worldbuilding have me neck deep in exploring global cuisine and culture, but as soon as it's a picture then people go off about cultural insensitivity. Because reading comprehension is low here so most people barely glance at the worldbuilding posts.

Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, as far as Asian actors in Hollywood went, you had Lucy Liu and Jackie Chan. There was that show about Imperial Chinese cats called Sagwa (傻瓜 shagua literally means "dumb melon" which is what you call a certified idiot). Mulan (forever my favourite). Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? But that's it. Seeing Michelle Yeoh winning everything recently makes me feel proud to be Asian. I cried when I saw Over the Moon.

If just ONE person looks at this blog and goes "cool, I learned something" or "cool, my culture is being recognised and represented as a form of inspiration", then I have done something right. Other Chinese/East Asian people in the past have applauded me for bucking the western "Asian" stereotype, simply because I express my love for my culture differently.

I'm no less Chinese for being fluent in English (which is actually my mother tongue btw thanks colonialism), or being a goth, or an author who happens to be atrocious at math. I just am. And I want everyone to just be too. To embrace their otherness, to rejoice in the diversity of the human experience, and to learn to live together. And most of all, I wanna see more awareness in writing (especially fantasy) about non-Global North cultures and the people who represent them. I'm sick of being a media cliché.

The Seven Deadly Sins

This post will contain spoilers for all of Twisted Wonderland, including the main books, events, and cards may be referenced. This is your only warning.

For those who are unacquainted with the concept of the seven deadly sins, let me explain briefly.

The seven deadly sins are basically sins that you should never commit/act upon. Acting upon them can "inspire further sin". These sins include pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth. There were two sins that were removed from this list, vainglory and acedia.

Pride is basically like having a big ego and being full of yourself.

"consciousness of one's own dignity"

Vainglory is just being prideful and bragging

inordinate pride in oneself or one's achievements; excessive vanity.

They're pretty much the same thing, so they got lumped in together.

"intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food"

Lust:

"very strong sexual desire"

Envy is just being jealous, to put it simply

Wrath is extreme anger

Sloth:

"reluctance to work or make an effort; laziness."

The 8th sin, acedia, is:

"spiritual or mental sloth; apathy."

I did a bit of extra reading on this one, and it pretty much sounds like depression.

"a state of listlessness or torpor, of not caring or not being concerned with one's position or condition in the world. In ancient Greece akidía literally meant an inert state without pain or care...In modern times it has been taken up by literary figures and connected to depression."

If you take a moment to think about it, you can see how these sins can connect to certain characters.

Riddle is wrath, this one is obvious. Riddle has a reputation for being easily angered, so him representing the sin of wrath makes the most sense.

Leona is sloth. He's lazy. It's obvious he does care about things, but he doesn't care enough to make an effort. He also displays the sin of pride, though I feel like sloth is a better choice because his laziness is more apparent as opposed to his pride.

Azul is greed. C'mon, he's completely capitalist. He's greedy in two ways. One, his money. That's one of the most important things to him, hence why he buys ingredients "for the low low price of free", according to Jade. Two, his power. It's clear that he values his power above all else, which is why he goes completely insane once Leona destroys his golden contracts.

Jamil is envy. He's envious of Kalim, not because of his status, but more so his lifestyle. Kalim will get praised and thanked for doing the bare minimum, whereas Jamil could plan a whole banquet and not get a single thanks. No praise or gratitude for anything he does, because it all goes to Kalim. I was going to put lust, because of Jafar, but I'm going to try and keep my reasoning strictly canon to Twisted Wonderland.

Vil is pride. Vil is very prideful when it comes to himself, and Rook and Vil's other fans aren't helping. Vil has high self-esteem, which is good. However, assuming you watched chapter 5, you would've seen what happened when someone hurts his pride. He goes "evil berserker mode". When his pride gets hurt, bad things happen. If you look at the song lyrics of "Absolutely Beautiful"(a banger btw), this point becomes much more clear as well. He puts himself above others, and views himself as more important.

Idia is acedia. It's really obvious Idia has depression. Given his backstory and the way he acts, it would be weird if he didn't. Just like Leona, you can tell he cares, but he just can't bring himself to care, physically or mentally. He stays in his room, refuses to socialize, and if he has to attend class, he just goes via tablet. This is clearly depression, and remember, depression is pretty much acedia.

Malleus is lust. Ok, hear me out. It could happen. I know I put the definition up top, but technically it's possible to lust for someone or something non-sexually.

"In fact, sometimes lust has nothing to do with sexual desire. It can be “intense enthusiasm; zest,” which is closer to its earlier meanings of “pleasure,” “delight” and “inclination.”"

So it would be possible for Malleus to be lusting for Yuu, in a friendship way. Or perhaps Aniplex will cater to the simps and make it sexual, though I doubt it.

Grim is gluttony. I feel the prologue monster was either overblot Grim, or foreshadowing to overblot Grim. Either way, Grim is a glutton, he LOVES food. If he can eat it, he will. Blot stones, grass, etc.

It's been a while since my last rant about automotive industry, but here we go again.

As a premise, i must say that this will probably be more valid for EU than for the rest of the world. Also expect a LONG post. So.

Hybrids and EVs are surely more efficient and "clean" than the average ICE car. But, as a car enthusiast, i'm very aware that technology end efficiency are expensive, definitely not for everyone. Here where i live we get bonuses for changing old cars with brand new "eco-friendly" ones, but only if they are old enough. Bonuses that, anyway, even in best cases will cover less than a quarter of the price of a new vehicle.

Most importantly, and that's something i learned the hard way, no institution will give you a single cent for the running costs - and they're high running costs. And about (stupidly heavy) EVs, electricity now is so expensive that the cost-per-km is the same of regular gasoline, so no real advantage. I remember when the seller told us that the simplicity of the powertrain meant less service costs, it was quite the opposite. Moreover, we were forced to service the car at their shop, at their prices, because they were the only ones who knew how to work on those components. Oh, and it was the only way to keep the warranty valid on expensive parts, too.

I had a (second hand) hybrid, like my parents. But i went from precarious worker to student and i'm unable to find a proper job while i'm studying due to some issues with my mental health, so my income suddenly dropped to zero. Keeping the car is expensive and in three years, when the warranty expires, the value will decrease drastically (a new battery could cost until 8k euros, nobody would buy a car with that risk). So i planned ahead and sold the hybrid car to get a cheaper one with decent quality and safety, reasonable running costs, free from the blackmail of our official dealer and easily fixable by any mechanic.

The problem: the most reliable and most fuel-saving version of that model on the second-hand car market (and well, basically the only one i found nearby) was a Diesel one. And Diesels are EU's scapegoat for the increasing air pollution, so Countries are forced to make laws to stay within certain limits - that's not bad itself. The problem is that private cars, depending on the sources, are only between 10% and 20% of the total greenhouse gas emissions.

But it's easier to wage war against citizens than corporations who are truly responsible for that 80-90%. And i'm not talking about those wealthy citizens who already got their fancy Tesla, but those who literally can't afford a new car (for any reason). This is a class problem.

There are "old" Diesel cars which still require less fuel than modern, high-end Diesels that satisfy the new requirements for mass production. A 10 years old 1.4 Diesel will always require less fuel and pollute less than a 2-tonne mild-hybrid "environmentally friendly" 3.0 Diesel BMW or Audi. Oh wait, it gets better: ironically an Euro 5 Diesel could be stopped from traffic while a brand new 1500 hp quad-turbo W16 Bugatti Chiron can roam around in the city centre on the very same day. But hey, the Chiron is not an evil Diesel. Once again, this. Is. A. Class. Problem.

Forcing people to go hybrid/electric with restrictions is repression against low-income classes. There could be so much more that can be done if private transport really is the root of all evil. Like a bonus that covers 100% the price of a new car (oh btw, an Euro 5 Diesel is old enough to get stopped on certain conditions, but not old enough to receive a bonus). Or investing in bio/synthetic fuels so people can run their older cars with carbon neutral emissions - but that'd make the poor automakers angry as they couldn't sell their new hypertechnological cars. Or provide new catalysts for free to install on older cars - but also that would make automakers quite angry. Don't get me wrong, technology and research are good, hybrids and EVs are fascinating and surely relatively more efficient. But not affordable by everyone, nor a permanent solution for environmental problems: not only for batteries, but also for the energy required to charge them, and the fossil fuels still needed for hybrids. A lot of research is still needed but, while we wait, we should stop pointing the finger at who can't afford to buy and sustain a new car.

Now, i know what you're thinking: "but you could've got another non-Diesel model and save even more money" maybe you're right, but for me the choice of the car is very personal and important, there are many criteria i have, picking any cheap shitbox is not an option for me if i have a decent budget. Laws can change, safety and reliability don't. There are good cars out there which only problem is bad laws made against them. Cars that can perfectly run and could end up in a junkyard only because of these laws, that's the opposite of sustainability, that's forced consumerism. Plus, it's not only about me, but also and most importantly about the millions of people that get screwed everyday and have no fucking choice.

There is no divide between "high" art and low art except what the artist can convince people to pay for it. Oil paintings are art. Furry porn is art. Memes are art. Rapping is art. Protest posters are art. Graffiti are art. Graphics on toothpaste packaging are art.

There is no divide between original art and fanart. All art exists in the context of earlier art and uses the stories, characters, images, ideas, instruments, and techniques of earlier art. Every piece of art--visual, musical, literary--is a message or story that uses all the art that came before it as the vocabulary with which it tells itself.

The more art you know, the more history you know, the better you can understand the message of each new piece of art you encounter.

Distinctions between "high art" and "low art"* are lies privileged people tell in order to maintain their illegitimate power. It's another iteration of the argument for distinguishing between who is a man and who is not, who is white and who is not, who is intelligent and who is not, who is a criminal and who is not, and it is made by the same people for the same reasons those other arguments are made: to determine who should hold power and who should be subject to that power.

Look closely at who makes distinctions between "high" and "low" art, and why, and you will always find that

1) Those distinctions do not hold up to scrutiny,

and

2) Those distinctions all arise from--and try to justify--the same idea: The people in our group are better than the people we have excluded from our group, and therefore we are entitled to power and they are not.

Every time someone makes such an argument, they are telling you something about the way they see other people and the way they want the world to work. They are telling you something about themselves.

Honestly, "high art" of any kind isn't really any more or less incomprehensible or unapproachable than Tumblr meme culture. It's basically the same kind of thing, really, but with a longer time span and more reading to catch up to - things making references to things that were a thing earlier, and everyone kind of supposes that everyone who sees the work also has some background knowledge of the previous work being referred. Just imagine an art history teacher breaking down a tumblr post like

"...And here we see the next poster replying with this image. Here, this image of a statue has a very exact symbolic meaning. The figure of the statue is the Greek god Apollo, here in his role as a prophetic deity, which you may have concluded from the original post referring to future events that may or may not come to pass.
