Theres this trans girl at my school and she always makes me happy when I see her. Im not sure how I can put this but shes refreshing to see.

Ive been scared lately. Really fucking scared. With all the anti trans bills and hate going around the country like wildfire lately, I have not only feared my own saftey but the saftey of my friends and family members. I keep my phone by my bed every night just in case I get that text, or call, or whatever that something has happened to them. I check in on my friends often to make sure they are okay that, they are alive.

To see trans joy, to see a trans person hapily living their life in person helps see that there can be joy and we can truly live. Its different from the people you see on social media, they're real and in front of you.

As a trans cane user I've noticed a distinct difference in how people treat me when they think I'm a girl vs when they think I'm a guy.

When people think I'm a girl they're more willing to help me, almost to an excessive extent. To the point of one guy in my class pulls my chair out for me.

On the contrary when people think I'm a boy (which I more or less am) I get very little help with anything. Sometimes I get straight up ignored.

It's so strange.

now that I have more energy

last night I was at a protest against banning books and moms for liberty

the crowd was very mixed in with the agitators and the counter protesters.

I was in my wheelchair

I was next to a flag pole and suddenly this TERF starts full on screaming at me that I'm taking up too much space in my wheelchair and that I'm assaulting her because she wanted to stand where I was sitting. I just stare at her. a wonderful trans person behind me 💕💕 who I had never met starts yelling at her and calls her a bitch. she then starts screaming at every trans woman in the area misgendering them and calling them men (and yells at me calling me a woman but I care less about that. I am very protective of my friends and community) I'm now in defense mode and get in between her and my friend because she is inches away from its face.

she then accuses me of assaulting her again. she threatens to call the cops and I start shouting "DO IT COWARD DO IT COWARD DO IT COWARD DO IT COWARD" over and over again. she does not call the cops but does leave everyone alone. (temporarily) about 10 minutes later she decides to start yelling at a different trans person and pretending to film them. I start shouting "YOU'RE NOT EVEN FILMING COWARD" which pisses her off. I decide to further escalate because sometimes escalation is deescalation. I start shouting "WHERE ARE THE COPS COWARD? WHERE ARE THE COPS COWARD? WHERE ARE THE COPS COWARD?" over and over again. she stops. she's sick of me at that point.

in the middle of all this she was continuously assaulting me in my wheelchair by leaning up against my wheelchair as an intimidation tactic to the point she was touching my flesh body and not just my wheelchair. she also moved me out of the way without consent. she attempted to shoulder check me in the wheelchair (and failed) and was generally just uncontrollably violent. I had to put my brakes on multiple times because she saw me as an easy target.

anyways, the wheelchair protest experience is great 🙃
