FINISHED WATCHING MHA MOVIE 2: HEROES RISING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED IT

OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS WAS SO GOOD YO HOLY FUCK I LOVE IT AAAAAAAAAAAAA

This was truly My Bakudeku Academia. Watching that final battle felt like a religious experience- as if I was watching the birth of Christ. Holy fuck if that really was the original ending, with Deku passing OFA to Kacchan, and the whole "Oh it actually stayed with Deku and Bkg got amnesia" didn't happen, this would have been a dramatically different story moving forward.

Horikoshi really loves Bakugou- like absolutely no question. The story following this kind of ending would be about him continuing OFA's legacy with the guilt of a thousand suns on his shoulders for "taking away" Izuku's dream. Izuku would have continued the hero course as an actual quirkless student. I would love to see aus of this being canon and continuing their story from there.

I'm guessing Nine here was supposed to be AFO, and he would basically be gone too. Katsuma is perfectly set up to be the next protagonist (I can already imagine him using Cell Regeneration as Super Regeneration- he could become invincible while also healing others. Incredibly amazing quirk).

(note. THAT WOLF GUY CALLED SHOJI UGLY- A FELLOW HETEROMORPH, CUS HE WAS PROJECTING HIS "MONSTER" ISSUES ON HIM HOW FUCKING DARE YOUUUUU)

THEY ALSO MAKE IT ACTUALLY MAKE MORE SENSE HOW THE WHOLE CLASS IS SEPARATED ON AN ISLAND TOGETHER AS A WHOLE CLASS THIS TIME TOO (and not just half like last movie). They even managed to tie it in to AFO, the LoV, and Hero Society. Like it actually feels more grounded and reasonable why the class would be here alone with supervision.

They even add hints of Touya Todoroki with him having a short battle with Endeavor, Hawks spying in the LoV, the HSPC head cameo, and other little things too. Man I loved this fucking movie I would watch it 10 more times right now.

there are games that i enjoy playing more and there are games i enjoy thinking about more. sometimes the overall story and themes and blorbos are delightful but actually playing it is a little annoying so i just rotate it in my mind instead. sometimes i get absolutely sucked into the gameplay and the world and the experience for dozens or hundreds of hours and i enjoy listening to the soundtrack but it has little to no lasting impact on me as a person bc something in the story just failed to hit and that’s ok. both are good both are beloved. obviously the ideal piece of media is one i both enjoy actively consuming and thinking about but my mindset is that if a piece of media has any single good thing in it it’s a good piece of media. give me literally anything to work with and i’ll extract joy out of it. i’ve literally never played a game i didn’t like btw

#first category includes games like skyward sword and og twewy #for the record i do love both of those games even as actual games i enjoy a diverse variety of gameplay styles #but compared to some other stuff i’ve played yeah it’s not my absolute favorite #but the THEEEEEMES. the stories of those games give me brainworms #the kh mobile games fall into this category (<- has never played them per se but knows enough about em)#(in terms of gameplay i mean)#(also it is true that watching 6 hours of cutscenes isn’t always appealing)#second category is like. hyrule warriors age of calamity and tears of the kingdom #i bet you’re surprised to hear me put those in the same place #neither of them had the best writing in my humblest opinion but MAN did i enjoy playing both of those sooooo much #i got so sucked in they’re both really fun. in completely different ways lol #this is not to say i didn’t get driven crazy by totk’s story but just compared to other games maybe not as much #and that’s ok!!#oh also neo twewy is in this category. they kinda dropped the ball on the writing (even though i do have blorbos from that game)#but it is a really fun and cool game #botw does both things for me. beloved fav game #most perfect piece of media in existence #every pokémon game i’ve played has done both for me #well idk platinum didn’t have a Blorbo so it loses story appeal to me. but it makes me smile a lot i enjoyed playing it #even if it doesn’t like Live In My Brain like the others #i uh. can’t rank most of the kh games bc i haven’t played most of em 🫠#someday…#twilight princess is hmmmm ok so like the gameplay and music and world experience were PHENOMENAL #midna HARD CARRIED the story is the thing. i didn’t generally like the writing but she alone makes up for it.#in my view it still deserves to be docked points for that but like they did pop off nonetheless #peach rambles #this is the reason i have so much joy in my life btw #it’s because i simultaneously have a very critical eye and i have the ability to put into words exactly what i do and don’t like #AND i have the ability to turn off that part of my brain and optimistically embrace everything in good faith #i give everything the benefit of the doubt and focus on the good

#ramblings #it. i'll be honest it looks like an off-brand switch it doesn't look like an official nintendo product #but hey backwards compatability is always good. and the kickstand is actually usable #and there was new mario kart footage in there i think. which is neat #this is like. such an unceremonious announcement idk if a lot of ppl have even seen it yet #wonder if sonic racing crossworlds is gonna be on there or on the og switch #bc apparently the switch 2 is releasing this year so idk probably #it'd kinda suck if it's switch 2 exclusive tho bc i know for a fact i'm not getting it any time soon #i don't have the money nor do i wanna upgrade yet #and my laptop is probably not gonna be good enough to run it well #i wanna see what switch 2 exclusive games come out to see if it's really worth it too #splatoon 4 and whatever the next mainline sonic game is are probably gonna be on it so. it might be #also wonder if they're gonna have a lite version like the og switch #they kinda sorta did that with the 3ds. the 2ds was basically that and they made new versions of those too #it'd be nice to have cheaper options

You know i while i will always be a beliver of "not all games are made for you" kinda man, part of me really wishes it could like some games that i like the story or ideas (be that mechanic or in character) but hate the gameplay

Like i really like stuff like legues lore or dwarf fortress but man the barrier gameplay whise makes me just consume them in video format

Which isnt like i mind seeing about it but part of me wishes that i could just enjoy it
