as y'all know, being verbose is my main character trait. but as I'm looking around, I'm finding that there is literally no other viably large social media website that like. allows you to post an entire chapter of what you're working on without you having to host it yourself, as well as images and just like. notes about the day to day. it feels bad man. RN I'm bouncing between the three options on my shortlist and more and more it's looking like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and use Twitter. I didn't like it because of how much it limits what you can say and forces strangers into your feed, but at this point there's no where else that would fit what I make as well as tunglr does.

I do not have words to describe this dread. the last month has been... nine kinds of hell one after the other. because like. Believe It Or Not. my dog dying doesn't make the top 5 worst things to happen in the last 30 days. this is kinda just the straw that's breaking the camels back rn.

Random Whimsigoth/Fairy grunge/ Witchy Fashion Tips i came up while daydreaming:

First make sure to take into account your proportions and adapt the trends accordingly! Have a more defined waist or curves but are short? Invest on pencil skirts, Midi skirts serving as Maxi skirts and tighter fitting things such as corsets to exude a whimsical look and bring out the whimsy. Have short arms and or legs? Focus on flared bottoms to enloand luxurious fabrics such as lace or velvet for a proper alternative chic look. Try different types of flared or open sleeves. Puffy or princess sleeves and things with a more revival medieval to Renaissance look. Peasant blouses and dresses and empire waistlines can aid on the look.

As far as color palettes are concerned if you find that Jewel tones don't suit you, leaning more earthy Is more forgiving for warmer undertones. Neutrals with low saturation can be used and you can never go wrong with a lot of Whites, blacks, greys and browns.

Find out the specificities of your "Whimsy" style, are you more witch, fairy or boho like? Are you more goth-y witch or fairy or more Hippie Boho New Age Witch/ Fairy?

Accessorize; things such as multiple rings, rows of necklaces, hairclips, hats and scarfs and handbags. Chokers are universally quite flattering; The bigger the statement accessory the better, but plain chunky chokers can also work. Chain like chokers are to be avoided unless one is aiming for a more edgy take on the style.

Go beyond the celestial theme of the style for a more unique spin; themes that bring whimsy to me: Bats, cats, dragonflies and Butterflies, fairies and elves, pentacle, tarot, sacred hearts, quilts and patchwork, rhinestones and fake sparkly gems, Flower patterns etc.

Fleece tights, legwarmers and tights are essential for when it's cooler. Skirts should be made of a heavier material such as whoop for extra warming. Bell bottoms/ Flared out jeans are more likely to be comfortable.

Flowy garments and light fabrics in cotton or gauzy are summer/spring appropriate. Greens, blues and Dusty or even very light desaturated pinks and purples and brighter reds can make for a more "springy" or summery feel without sacrificing the Aesthetic's more moody side. Swapping Blacks and dark browns for Whites and greys can be more comfortable for warmer weather as well.

Giving the strong emphasis on the 90s; make up looks from the era, glossy lips, thin(ner) eyebrows, frosted eyeshadow etc. Goth make up looks of the era are very a part of the style as well. Emphasis on a very subdued or clean look. Going with no or minimal make up is great too for a more youthful/ natural look. ( also sensory gang rise up).

Chunky belts/ belts in general. Especially if you want to cinch in the waist or are turning your maxi skirts into a mini dress.

Shoes that have a bit of heel are recommended given the styles tendency of having long garments. It doesn't have to be a dramatic heel however. Lace up and zip up boots, slip on loafers and Mary janes ( both plataform and not) are great to have in one's wardrobe. Shoes with buckles and other details with character add to the look.

Teased/ spiked hair, braids and buns for those with long hair can add to the whimsy. Navy blue, dark purple, green, black, silver/grey can be great colors to dye one's hair in as well as the more natural shades such as shades of brown or red. Not needed but if you want to spare your hair the bleach or are just easing into color dying well styled wigs could do the trick.
