Sorry for starving y'all, here are some shinyshrimp (mostly shrimpo) in their pre-parent parent era.

I am so tired chat, so I had to draw them sleeping for like the third time. Canon event.

Earlier I had an idea about Shimmer coming from an egg. It keeps the whole "not having a skeleton" aspect for her while also allowing for cute fluff moments (and parental denial).

They had very different reactions to the whole "being dads" thing.

Shrimpo: This thing is gross; we need to get rid of it- Glisten: What- NO!? We are not "getting rid of it" Shrimpo!! There could be a LIVING BEING in there! We're keeping it. (I've always wanted to be a father, anyways) Shrimpo: UGH FINE!! But I want NOTHING to do with it! I'd HATE being a dad! Glisten: Ok.

Not even a few days later:

Glisten: Hello, my darling Shrimpo~ I'd like to see the baby- Shrimpo: HIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSS Glisten: RIGHT UNDERSTOOD! Let me get you some tea with those chocolates-

Wow, for once Glisten isn't the one getting the princess treatment, how crazy is that!?

Glisten, despite his beef with Toodles, does genuinely want a kid. He has fatherly instincts and kinda wants to utilize them lol. Especially a girl. He would really like a girl.

Shrimpo has no fatherly instincts whatsoever. He talks to babies the way he talks to adults minus the swears. He was not that kind when it came to kids when Gardenview was in session, but it just took his own to violently rip out those instincts and show them to the world.

As the days passed, Shrimpo develops a parental mindset but like the overprotective kind. In the wild, actual shrimps carry their kids around under their tails, and that felt protective so *cutely projects that on Shrimpo*. Also the idea of the mean guy being the most nurturing parent is something I fw.

But as a result, Shimpo does not let anyone near the egg... including his husband. Although this peeves Glisten quite a bit, he puts up with it and stays nurturing in other ways, like bringing stuff to Shrimpo to keep the peace lol.

And to show more of the prehensile tail, here is Shrimpo carrying Shimmer.

They're probably going out to hang out at the park or something idk. Toodles is vibing with her sibling and kind of father-figure-not-really-but-whatever. Also, although Shrimpo could carry Shimmer in his arms, it's more comfortable on his tail to carry a person more than a heavy object (and Shimmer enjoys this better too).

Usually I stay out of shipping discourse but people need to realize that relationship dynamics can change. I personally don't think Lucilith, as of now, is canonically toxic, but i DO think there are toxic patterns in how Lilith treats Lucifer and his relationship with Charlie. I have every right to think it's fucked up that Lilith made a deal with her ex to stay in the realm that traumatized her husband though! This isn't me saying "Lucilith is bad and shouldn't be shipped" because I like pre-series Lucilith. More accurately, I like pre-Charlie Lucilith. It's implied in More Than Anything that Lilith didn't like the things Lucifer was showing Charlie so she just forced them apart, potentially making Lucifer’s mental health issues worse.

I'm not saying people can't like Lucilith, but if you think it's NOT weird for Lilith to be in Heaven on a deal with her ex, you're sanitizing the situation because by doing that Lilith left her mentally ill and traumatized husband and her daughter to rule Hell on their own. She hasn't talked to Charlie or Lucifer in 7 years.

(Also, they might not be divorced but they are separated, as mentioned by Charlie; she specifically refers to "after Mom and Dad split". I can't say I'd blame Lucifer if he did decide to divorce her though.)

I'm not trying to indicate that Lucilith is objectively bad or anything but I AM saying Lucilith shippers need to stop using the family portraits to deflect "Lucilith looks like it MIGHT be toxic in the current day" commentary because like it or not, Lilith leaving her kingdom that Charlie claims she absolutely adored for her daughter and mentally ill husband to rule and leaving to the realm that traumatized her husband so bad he doesn’t seem to care if they decide to try to kill him is fucked up.

This was kinda a bit out of my comfort zone, I think y’all know how much I struggle with anything that isnt front facing dhdhdhdhdhd. I mean full side profile works fine too, but if it’s in-between I just implode or whatever. 

So I think I did pretty good in spite of that hshshshs. references saving my ass.

Also did a color study again, which also went okay but when it turned out I actually had to paint the ocean a brownish gray physically hurt me/j

Okay but why are artists tagging ships on fanart on tumblr (thank you for doing so, it allows me to filter things that trigger, as tagging systems SHOULD work) but then those artists post that same art untagged on Twitter???? So I can't filter it with blacklisting words???

It's causing me to freaking backcheck EVERY fanart of Ram and Zen on Twitter now, ruins any enjoyment when I have to worry the art I am looking at is ship art of family dynamics. I just want to enjoy platonic Shambali bros.

:( please tag your ships on both Twitter and Tumblr, etc... It's not fair to fans within fandoms that you draw stuff with a ship intent but then post it untagged. Especially for niche characters. And it doesn't matter what fandom or what ship. Tagging a main character tag but not the ship makes fandom spaces less accessible. And not just so people can avoid the content--you would get more eyes on your creations if you tagged properly! So what gives?

I personally always aim to tag my ships, as well as state when I intend something to be platonic. Making people have to double check between your accounts is really bad fandom etiquette. ,:/

And yeah... not going to apologize for asking people to tag ships (regardless of what the ship is) because I have OCD and I am on the spectrum, so avoiding needless instances of triggers is apart of me taking care if my mental health, and being able to access sfw content of my sfw special interests shouldn't be controversial to ask for... Tagging makes the internet more accessible for a wide variety of people, so PLEASE tag ships.

finally some of my accoutrements for my Uni are arriving... ive got a handful of stuff to customize it with in the mail right now including some different buttons and a faceplate, but! my case and dust plug arrived :) i bought two of those shykutchi plugs, one for my phone too, because he is so cutes to me (also this photo does NOT do justice to how glittery that case is. its much sparklier irl)

its nice to get into the customizing aspect of vpet stuff. i have a bunch of cute little sparkly tamagotchi stickers i got alongside this order which i wanna put on some of my other shells... also i still need to get one of the new connections sometime.

im holding out a little to see if they release more shells/the japanese ones become any more accessible in the uk because i want those glittery ones dangit

Canonical things in my OC universe: Vic is from the same "planet" as not just ARMS, but Street Fighter and so on! That does mean that my Megaman X Reploid OC Marina also is from the same world that Vic is from, but that's... neat? Capcom world plus other fighting games.

I dont have a dni at all, but i do block people who call themselves endo neutral. If theyre not a system and they dont state any opinion at all on syscourse i dont care, thats fine, its when people specifically go out of their way to say theyre endo neutral. They have an opinion, they know what syscourse is, and theyve decided their opinion is “neutral”. Its like “racism neutral” or “transphobia neutral”. Its a “silence in the face of injustice is complicity with the oppressor” situation, if you have no connection to syscourse at all and’ve never heard of it thats fine, but someone who knows what endogenic plurality is and has decided they want to publicize the fact that they dont know whether or not a whole group of people deserves respect, that they think theres reasons to think both ways, or actively dont care or think it matters whether we’re respected, thats effectively “anti endo” for my purposes and im curating them out of my online experience
