I know a lot of ppl are hating Eloise´s character right now but I think she is in the middle of her self discovery (also why I think Benedict's season will come before hers), as life is turning all she has known as she has become part of society, along with her siblings. She was free in Daphne's season because she still wasn't in the mart and was considered more of a child, as well as everyone putting attention on her sister rather than her. Then she entered society and she felt like all the freedom she had as a child was gone because suddenly she was a "woman" and they set standars to her, that´s why she felt like reveling. But with whistledown she gets reminded that her freedom was an illusion as she can now taint her family with her actions. She is sort of humbled, as she realises what her part in her family and society really is. And she gets maaaad.
That's why I think she is trying to integrate herself in society in this season. Trying to keep up but she is failing, because she just can't understand and leave her ideals behind, but she knows she has to, so she is in the middle of coming into terms with what she wants and what she has to do.
Yes, she is very privileged but that doesn't belittle her search of herself. And Yes, that also doesn´t mean she is free of guilt for threating Penelope badly or every other bad thing she has done. If anything, I think her season will be the most divergent from the book. At least I wish. So that we get to see Eloise finding that balance (in terms of what she wants vs what society expects of her) and maybe Phillip giving her the space or attention she needs to sort it out and be herself.
Anyway, whenever I try to understand Eloise, I think a lot of this analysis of Jo March and find it really relatable to her.

How do you think Sans reacts to Papyrus’s death during the runs?
If you mean in the base game, uh... we kinda already know? If Papyrus is killed, Sans doesn't show up again until the final corridor, where he'll ask "if you have some sort of special power, isn't it your responsibility to do the right thing?"
If you answer yes (that you do have that responsibility), then he responds, without eyelights or sound font, "Then why'd you kill my brother?"
And if you answer no (you aren't responsible), you get "well, that's your viewpoint. i won't judge you for it.... You dirty brother killer."
There's also the line of description you get if you go on to have a concert with Shyren after killing Papyrus: "A hooded figure watches the commotion from afar." It replaces the line that mentions Sans selling toilet paper tickets to your concert, and of course, of all the characters with hoods in the game, he's the one who would be most concerned with tracking your actions after killing Papyrus. So, it makes the most sense to infer that this hooded figure is Sans.
So his reactions, to me at least, suggest that not only is he heartbroken, he's furious with you. But Sans isn't one for direct confrontations and shouting like Undyne is, so he watches, and I think he still tries to understand why you'd do something so horrible. But that doesn't stop him from being angry because there's no excuse for killing his brother, but sparing other monsters, that he can fathom.
I'm personally not a fan of depictions of Sans sobbing over Papyrus' dusty scarf--he just doesn't strike me as a guy whose first reaction is to cry. For my understanding of him, it makes more sense for him to go numb, initially, then save his anger for his parting shot in the last corridor. No matter what you answer, Sans gets the last word in, and it's always to remind you that you did not have to kill his brother.
So uh, yeah. that's what I think.

Fury isn't even done (maybe ~70% of the art is finished?) She already has more assets than any other route in the game.

"horror movie characters make unrealistically bad choices" ok but what if it's a couple on the verge of a nasty, nasty divorce? they keep egging each other on to make the worst possible decisions in a time of crisis. there is a whole subplot where each character is trying to escape while ensuing their spouse still gets murdered bc it would save thousands in lawyer fees

Rin, smiling, and nagging
Tumblr media
Rinsha Fana’s character is summarized in a couple facts thrown here and there. Because she worries for him, she follows Kabru to help his cause and protect him, and to nag him. She’s a grumpy angry tsundere, but it seems not only rooted in her attitude but on a deep rooted physical level, to the point where any intense emotion she feels will make her frown and scowl even if it’s genuine joy. Her childhood was half spent ostracized in the tallman community her family lived in and half with the elves, where she’s said to have been treated like an animal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We don’t know how she was raised exactly or who it even was, but knowing she was "treated like an animal" by the elves taking care of her…
Elves are shown to have a highly hierarchical society, not only with their concern with status such as nobility and the purity of bloodlines but also reflected by its social culture imo. They have high society and etiquette, upmost devotion to the queen, very role-oriented, like cogs in a machine, and as such, it’s a bit skewed since most of what we see of the elves is in a military context with military people but they seem to value having emotions under lock and key to be efficient and not bring dishonor, Flamela is an interesting character on this. Don’t be a bother and do your job until you’re called on, fulfill your role, everything else is extra at best inconvenient at worst.
Personally I do think the canaries kept Rin, it’d make sense that whichever canaries got stuck with the job at the headquarters would be barebones with her and treat her like an ‘impounded article’, they couldn’t find another place for her and this way they can get her report on the events whenever she can speak again in however many years, and this way it makes sense that she could keep in touch with Kabru too. They’re used to prisoners, not kids. Being raised in a military context rather than at some orphanage would shape her further.
All of this to say…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’d already seen the world’s harshness to those who don’t conform in her hometown, but with the elves? Her disdain for those who had formal education at a magic school?
Wouldn’t she become very concerned with proving she is not an animal, proving that she’s smart and skilled in her own right on her own merit, even without schooling. And to do this she nitpicks and nitpicks, because even being pristine isn’t enough to be respected, but at least it’s not giving others reasons to disrespect and dehumanize her. Learning to school her emotions, to scowl as a defense mechanism because anything else makes her vulnerable, because they don’t care about her as a person with feelings, because showing other expressions was dangerous or punished in some way: because it was fit in or don’t fit in and that’s the difference between having your house burnt down and being tolerated, between getting her food or having her questions answered and being yelled at to shut up… Because all her life she’s been surviving in hostile social environments and at the mercy of others, but unlike Kabru she doesn’t become a people pleaser but becomes very self-reliant and wary of socializing.
So she nitpicks and nitpicks and nags, because she’s worried. Because flaws are dangerous. So she has a hard time smiling and laughing, because it’s dangerous to allow yourself to feel safe in being authentic.
Tumblr media
It would be nice…
