Keep repeating the same thing over and over again but the emotion Kamiki seems to display about Ai's... Really very close to loss and affection. I don't see this guy havlng ever tried to harm her in any way. There's too little of what's been shown, but at least.. What's actually been shown of him regarding his own feelings towards Ai doesn't seem to be that inconsistent.

In short, he simply could not bear having lost her. He couldn't accept the fact that she doesn't exist anymore because she died- not just dead but got killed because she had his children. I believe he must have wanted to do something about that. He seems to have believed whatever he'd done could change that reality somehow?? That's what's been driving him. But why...did he believe that is? How did he become this twisted;

I can sense a lot of despair coming from this guy and that actually pains me because it's not acknowledged or recognized so well...; what am I supposed to make of this guy?; is he really that terrible? I think he was driven insane because he really missed that one person who's meant everything for him, but; this comic just ditches it and drowns him so; everything feels so unresolved.

They say losing a significant other can bring the strongest emotional pain for someone, so he's feeling something very intense I guess. I don't see him as the selfish, ignorant, manipulative monster when it came to his feelings towards Ai at least? So what's happened must have given him a terrible time. I feel it. If it weren't, they shouldn't write him this way. I actually wish I didn't because I sense this huge despair of what someone may feel upon having lost their half?? And that makes me feel really bad, but does he deserve this sort of reaction? The writing is so cruel. What he's had really seems to be love and a pretty genuine type at that but the work makes it confusing. So what is this;

The feeling they seem to be holding towards each other seem to be really tender and sweet and it actually does make sense but at the same time, if it is, just why write the plot like this at all???

Anyhow, he's been grieving about Ai ever since she passed. And it NEVER got any better. He never healed, and he's never been happy once after she was gone. That's what I get from Kamiki and I feel that really strongly when I see the behavior he has and it's surprising. He's supposed to be evil, isn't he? But I think he really loved her. Why do I keep picking up this type of emotion. His mentality really is that of someone who's lost someone really dear though, I wonder how it's getting across when he seems out of it and there isn't so much of him that we get to see. Could be the songs?; I wish they did explore this part of him more in depth because it is there. He did care for Ai.

There are missing conjugations in Finnish, and it actually limits (slightly) the things you can say in the vernacular speech. For an example, saying: "We got sunburned." or "We are melting!" are both "impossible". Details ->

First, in the Finnish vernacular, the passive form is used instead of the first plural form. So me syödään instead of me syömme. The first plural carries a strange emphasis and is practically never used in everyday speech.

Secondly, there are a bunch of verbs for which the passive form is not used – e.g. palaa (to burn), sulaa (to melt), and sataa (to rain) – on the basis that they don't typically have a human subject or that they describe a transformation, which obviously requires a subject that transforms.

And it keeps going! Third, as a native speaker, most of the time, you can just conjugate verbs without thinking: The correct conjugations feel good and obvious. But for some of the verbs that are not typically used in passive form, the passive conjugations feel strange and icky: they break some underlying phonotactic rules most speakers are not even aware of. At least to me, the passive conjugations me palettiin or me suletaan sound egriegously wrong.

And this is a really specific and strange feeling: Following my intuitive conjugation creates words that are obviously wrong. I did everything "right" but came up with a wrong answer. It really strikes you dumb.

From the point of view of the standard language there is no issue, as you will never use them in passive -> the forms are just not supported. So the options are:

Weirdly formal standard conjugation (me paloimme)

Icky-feeling vernacular conjugation (me palettiin)

Circumvent the expression somehow (Aurinko poltti meidät, me kärähdettiin etc.)

Just avoid speaking to others

Well Irving Azoff signed an open letter in support of Israel. He is undoubtedly a Zionist. It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to think that Jeffrey would also be a Zionist. As is Ben Winston. I feel like Harry's knowledge of the history between Israel and Palestine would be very one sided being surrounded by those people. When Anne and Gemma were criticised for not showing support for Palenstine they liked a post saying something along the lines that it's a delicate situation and siding with one side would hurt the feelings of family and friends. I don't blame people for being iffy about the people around Harry and even Harry himself at this point.

But it’s all supposition. And inference. idk how to start this exactly, but I just need to get it out. My best friend, who I’ve known for like a year and had a crush on for nearly that same amount of time confessed to me. She just one day sent me a paragraph and we talked about it for a while.

A few weeks after, she got with my other best friend and I have no idea how to feel about it. Every time she comes over I act like we’re still just friends, but I have no idea how she feels about me anymore. She acts all lovey with him and it makes me so upset.

She still acts the same way she did when she confessed to me. Like cuddling, hugging, Jesus even making breakfast for each other. I don’t know what to do because i feel like if I say anything I’ll make everything weird between us and it sucks.

WORK RANT, FEEL FREE TO IGNORE THIS POST!!

I Uber drive and don't have many complaints about it, but the way the ratings system is implemented has been bothering me.

Today's complaint: I can no longer see individual ratings.

On the left is the view I used to have. The right, the view I have now.

It's important for drivers like me to have detailed information on ratings. The fact that this detailed view has been removed troubles me. Just having an average and the occasional pre-set comments does not help at all.

Also, when someone leaves a poor rating, leaving more detailed feedback should be a requirement. If nothing obvious went wrong during the ride and someone leaves a 1 or 2-star rating, I should know what specific complaint they had so I can fix it.

And yes, I do acknowledge that the specific feedback can be abused. I once got a complaint that my car was severely malfunctioning and my license plate was listed wrong, all because my passenger left their Prime bottle in the car and they "wanted to get my immediate attention."

my campaign hiatus has gone on for too long so to cope ive combined my interests at their maximum potency and had some dnd-strawhats thoughts

thoughts in depth under read more... :)!

this is SO self indulgent. their designs literally did not change. but i am a firm believer that dnd doesnt have to be european high fantasy. and also one piece literally IS fantasy. no changes are necessary to fit into dnd. ive already imagined plenty of campaign/oneshot ideas inspired by one piece. so this was basically just an exercise of trying to replicate their canon abilities in dnd 5e as much as possible without totally homebrewing everything. well. aside from luffy. you just cant take away or change his stretching.

LUFFY: (human monk. drunken master subclass. outlander)

the only plain human of the crew to balance out with the fact that he still has rubber powers. obviously a monk. but drunken master subclass specifically because i think the flavor(not the fact that its about being a drunkard) and abilities both fit him really well. this line in the subclass' flavortext especially fits him: "A drunken master often enjoys playing the fool to bring gladness to the despondent or to demonstrate humility to the arrogant, but when battle is joined, the drunken master can be a maddening, masterful foe."

ZORO: (tiefling fighter. samurai subclass. bounty hunter)

a fighter with the samurai subclass is so very incredibly obvious... but i actually had a lot of fun geeking out while comparing the abilities to what he can do in canon; Fighting Spirit, Rapid Strike, and Strength Before Death especially! tiefling is also pretty on the nose for his demon pirate hunter shtick and asura form, but i thought he'd be really human-passing for a tiefling and theorized about his tail getting cut off at some point or another before joining the strawhats. initially wasnt gonna give him a feat, but i gave sanji a feat so i thought itd be unfair to not give him one as well, so sentinel fits the bill pretty well i think!

NAMI: (tabaxi rogue. arcane trickster subclass. criminal)

cat burglar -> full grown literal humanoid cat. this one is INCREDIBLY self indulgent... i love... cats... theres nothing deeper to this and no other reasoning. i took cat burglar and ran with it. can you tell that i love izutsumi dungeon meshi? rogue for the aforementioned burglar-ing as well, and the arcane trickster subclass for when she picks up climatact! the mage hand will be very useful for her pickpocketing. in the future as she levels up with timeskip, i can totally see her multiclassing into wizard as well! weather wizard!

USOPP: (lightfoot halfling artificer. artillerist subclass. urchin)

I HAD SO MUCH FUN THINKING ABOUT HIS CHARACTER SHEET. halfling's Naturally Stealthy ability lets him hide behind his crewmates since theyre (almost) all bigger than him, so its perfect for hiding behind zoro or sanji all the time. Lucky is also perfect for him, and I think Brave fits pretty well too when he puts on the sogeking mask. artillerist artificer is also very fun! tinkering and making magic items for his crew, and i think Eldritch Canon or Arcane Firearm could both be easily reflavored as kabuto or any of his inventions. for emphasizing his sniper-ness, the spell sniper feat was also necessary. i think hes my favorite of all the concepts. big ears and long nose combo is so cute to me.

SANJI: (half-elf monk. drunken master subclass. guild artisan (cook!))

race was mostly based on vibes i wont lie. squints. and that vinsmoke balogna or whatever too ig. but mostly vibes. along with the idea that i think a dwarf zeff raising him would be really funny and cute. monk is also obvious, and same subclass as luffy for mostly the same reasons. though the flavor fits him much less, i think the abilities still fit him perfectly, and this blurb specifically; "Your martial arts technique mixes combat training with the precision of a dancer." i really wanted to give him a different subclass from luffy, but i dislike all the other monk subclasses a lot and i found none of them fit him as well anyways, so to try and give them SOME differences, i gave him the crusher feat.

CHOPPER: (awakened deer(shifter statblock) cleric. life subclass. hermit)

this ones definitely a mouthful im sorry. awakened deer for obvious reasons, but due to magic instead of devil fruit stuff. when i was struggling with his race, i looked a lot at shifter because of his forms, but it occurred to me that itd be super cool if he could shift between all of the different shifter options instead of being stuck with just one to replicate his rumble balls. something like heavy point/guard point=beasthide, horn point/arm point(?maybe?)=longtooth, walk point/jumping point=swiftstride, and brain point=wildhunt. hed definitely need some kind of nerf though to balance out that homebrew... and cleric for class. duh.

ROBIN: (high elf wizard. order of scribes subclass. criminal)

robin is definitely the one i struggled the most with just because of her class. elf came pretty easily- shes very elegant and i think shed look cute with super long ears- and i landed on high elf instead of wood elf for the int-based abilities. i was really on the fence between sorcerer and wizard for her because i knew shed be a full spellcaster, but i didnt feel that any of the subclasses really fit her. i ended up going with wizard for order of the scribes since it focuses on texts and knowing everything. but also because robin with a flying talking sentient book would be crazy cool. it could also be similar to how she spawns mouths and eyes places to talk to or watch people. my "fuck it, why not. this would be rad. its my house" mindset kicked in with her i will admit. also the One with the Word ability made me cackle out loud when i read it. thats the funniest ability ever. anyways, i cant really think of a way to replicate her powers, but maybe we could just reflavor a bunch of spells to be her limbs or clutch; hold person, maximillian's earthen grasp, or evard's black tentacles. thatd probably work okay, and theres a handful of spells to replicate her ability to spawn eyes or mouths. unrelated, but i imagine nico olvia to be a drow. why? her hair is white. i am a simple man!
