Thinking about their struggles, when it all would get too much, what do they do…

Travel TOGETHER

2017

It would only be during their MMA 2018 after winning the Dasaeng that Jin would reveal the depths of their troubles, that the group had been contemplating disbandment.

At the time in their career they were reaching new successful career heights, but also impossible physical and mental lows as a team and individuals. They documented this time period after the fact, in their show ‘Monuments: Beyond the Star’ and also their autobiography ‘Beyond The Story: 10 Year Record of BTS’.

BTS were reaching new heights in their career, starting to receive greater Western awareness and achievements, after already making waves in their home country of South Korea (debuting in 2013) and Japan where they debuted the following year. They were in the final stretch of their Wings World Tour, which had started in February 2017, but all was not well for the group members.

They were overwhelmed and overworked and each trying to cope in their own ways, sometimes leaning on each other or others but mostly trying to power through alone.

As a belated birthday gift for Jimin (whose birthday was Oct 13th), when the members had some downtime from their tour dates, which would end in December 2017, Jungkook paid and planned for the two of them to go to Tokyo. Somewhere Jimin had wanted to go when not working.

Jimin had expressed interest in visiting Disney and had also through the years, expressed the desire to be able to spend personal time travelling with Jungkook as well.

Jungkook brought Jimin’s desires to life in the middle of one of their most difficult times in their careers.

2023

Another milestone period in the groups career, this time it wasn’t the looming consideration of disbandment plaguing the members but the inevitable pause of group activities, with all of them agreeing to complete their country’s mandatory military service for all able South Korean men.

Time and time again the members have let it be known their love for performing, being active members of the group and being able to connect with their fans, ARMY.

This time Jimin and Jungkook weren’t part of a group 4 years into their stardom but members of an established, globally accomplished group of 10+ years worth of fans, success and stardom.

Before enlisting in the army, something that had been the subject of national and international discourse for years. Before they would be under instruction from military superiors and surrounded by new comrades they’d never met before. Jimin and Jungkook decided to not just travel to Tokyo together like they had done in 2017, but visit several spots, to enjoy each other and the world before essentially being benched for 18 months.

Why I Think They Share

2017

Jimin and Jungkook both documented the trip to Tokyo in their own styles and shared it online.

It was a trip for the two of them, but like anyone who goes on a trip, sometimes during it or sometimes when we return, we post on our IG, our FB etc. We share videos and photos with our friends and family, our colleagues even our neighbours. We want to revel in the memories, share the stories of the fun we had, places we saw and food we ate.

Jimin’s video is totally that vibe…whilst GCF Tokyo is something so much more.

2023

Now superstars as a group and in their own right as solo artists, more internationally known than ever before and in the middle of (more than a break from a tour) solo promotions and preparing to retreat from society to serve in the military for a year and a half Jimin & Jungkook still made it possible. They still made it possible to enjoy time with each other and travel but also to share that like before.

This time not a video by Jimin and a GCF by Jungkook but an 8 part series! Not one trip but several trips, not a video each from Jimin & Jungkook but several episodes on a globally accessible platform. Something for people to watch whilst they are out of the public eye, they enjoyed during and now we can enjoy now.

I’ve said this before with Jikook and I’ll say it again.

Some things change but some things stay the same

TL;DR as third parties watch after the fact and be happy, smile and laugh at the fun times they enjoyed with each other. Witness and appreciate their sincerity and bond. Hope they have many more opportunities to do this whenever they need and want to, not just when rough times are had or coming. Be happy for them.

could yall imagine msby4, osamu and suna all at your grad at the same time!!!! i think it'd be so hectic and endearing :-(

they'd all come with their own boquet of flowers, probably having coordinated prior on what they're getting you!! the agreement was definitely small bouquets so that you'd at least be able to carry them all (BUT???? WHY WOULD BOKUTO NOT GIVE YOU AN ENTIRE GARDEN???? YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!)

atsumu is def a bit annoyed that bokuto got a bigger bouquet for you, BUT atsumu is the only one who got you a cute helium balloom!!

they'd be early to the ceremony, seeing you before and after!! you told them that it wasn't important for them to come so early (you had to be there 90 mins prior to the ceremony itself to get your gown, degree, and professional photos taken) but they insisted

they as in hinata, bokuto and atsumu... they just couldn't wait

sakusa, osamu and suna were more than happy to arrive on time... but for carpooling purposes and actually being able to find parking, going all together was the better choice

but what's 90 minutes?!?!??! time went by so fast with the number of pictures you got with them even before you got your gown

you'd obviously get solo pictures with everyone, all of them smiling in their photos that'd let everyone know how proud they are of you!!!

hinata definitely has his cheek pressed up against yours (careful not to smudge any of your make up though if you're wearing any!!), has an arm around your shoulders, and has his other pointing at your degree with you hold it! his smile is so bright and his eyes squint up. he giggles as you two take the photo which ends up making you laugh and show the camera a cheesy smile.

bokuto would have an arm around your shoulders too!! resting his cheek on top of yours and practically caging you as he gives the camera two thumbs up!! you'd smile big and mimic his pose which gets everyone laughing since you honestly give off "mini me" vibes with him

atsumu for sssuuurrreee sticks his tongue out in his photo with you. arm around your shoulders--not really since he puts up a peace sign behind your head to give you bunny ears--and his other hand pointing towards you. he'd wink at the camera too and they'd end up catching a photo of you rolling your eyes at him (that's the one he'd post LMAO)

sakusa, of course, is a little more reserved--but he's so proud of you and your accomplishments!! his arm still wraps around you respectfully and he smiles for the camera. he takes off his mask completely for you so you both get a good photo. he's definitely the most formal when it came to taking a photo with you (but anyone would be able to see how happy he is to see you graduating with the way his eyes squint up and his smile looks so natural)

osamu is super natural when taking a photo with you!! he's got an arm around your waist which atsumu calls him out for (he flips atsumu off LOL) and you laugh. someone gets a picture of this before the actual proper pose hahahaha. he'd tilt his head towards you and point at your degree, his smile cheesy and body language proud

suna, same as osamu tbh, but he practically headlocks you with how close he brings you with his arm. he smiles, rests his cheek against your head, and smiles at the camera while pointing at your degree. his smile is smth everyone gets caught off guard with--since when was he so soft?!

during the ceremony, the rowdy ones get restless because why the hell is it taking so long ahlddjsjdjdjdj but!!!!!

as soon as they see you getting ready to walk, they're EXCITED

everyone is up from their seats, clapping and cheering for you as loud as they can (except maybe sakusa, but he's still definitely standing and clapping obnoxiously loud) as soon as your name is called and they cheer allllll the way until you walk off the stage

the rest of the graduates and audience laugh at their enthusiasm, but, of course, find it endearing as they're yelling things along the lines of "that's our graduate!!!" "walk that stage y/n!!!!" "i love you!!!! give me your autograph!!!" "thats 40 thousand dollars right there!!!!"

and of course some people know who they are!!! you're definitely the talk of the town and some people are jealous you've got the rowdy volleyboys cheering you on so excitedly!!

after the ceremony, more pictures are taken (lots of group photos and silly ones too!!) and this time even with your family.

your family thanks them for coming and comments on how hilarious it was to hear them cheering. it gives them a great feeling (esp one of comfort!) knowing that you are loved so dearly by others!

the boys are also invited for dinner and who are they to say no?!?!?!?

later, they're definitely all posting photos on instagram!! hinats posts on his story and makes an actual post for you--he filmed your walk and definitely posted that, probably captioning it with "slaying their best slay rn 😫" LMAO,,, he also makes a cute collage of you, obviously wanting to highlight YOU as the graduate, for his story. for his post, he makes a photo of you two together the first photo, followed by a bunch more, a group photo, and then his favourite solo picture of you giving a cheesy smile to the camera as you hold up your degree!! he'd caption his post with a short cheesy paragraph about being proud of you and knowing you'll have a great future

bokuto also posts a video of your walk on his story and his yelling is so loud 😭😭😭 everyone who watches it definitely turns down their volume LOL but it's super sweet!! he follows it with a photo of you two together and just sticker bombs it. he also makes a post, making the first picture one he took of the bouquet he got you, then his favourite picture of the both of you, following it with more duo photos, a group photo, and even a photo of him and the boys while they waited. he captioned it with "SO HAPPY FOR @ YNUSERNAME !!! CONGRADS AND REMEBER ME WHEN YOU'RE FAMOUS!!! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!"

atsumu spams his story of your entire graduation actually LOL it started with him getting ready, him with osamu, the both of them getting you each a bouquet, him getting a balloon, them meeting up with the other boys, the hectic car ride that consisted of a loud karaoke session much to sakusa's (the driver) dismay, a video of them seeing you for the first time and how your face lit up, two 6-photo collages before the ceremony (mostly pictures of the both of you striking many different poses), a video of you getting ready to walk and him saying "it's happeenninng!", a video of you walking and his screaming (he's the one who yelled that he loves you and wants an autograph for suuurree), and bunncch of photos afterwards. he posts one group photo followed by his favourite photo of the two of you on his feed and captions it with "so proud of this scholar!!! c's get degrees!" and you're definitely defending your honour in the comments when you eventually see the post LMAO

sakusa, more reserved tbh, posts a picture of you walking the stage on his story! he has a video but thats for safekeeping and he fucking hates how loud atsumu was jsdkdjshdkdjsjdj anyways,,,, he tags you in the story, follows it with a cute photo collage with a couple cute stickers that said congrats! and some confetti, and he also posts a group photo on his feed. he captions it with something sweet and simple! "congradulations to @ ynusername. so proud of you and your success :-)"

osamu posts a video of you walking on his story (volume included LOL) and he's also cheering for you! a part of the video he posts, the camera turns to him and suna and they both exaggerate their cheering. they laugh together but it gets cut off (((and everyone who views it replays it just to see that part again))))). he posts a lot of pictures on his story, so obviously proud of you, and he also gets pictures at dinner! he's late for the actual feed post because he forgot LOL and the first picture is of him, you and atsumu together! it's a silly photo, of course, and it's follow by proper ones, duo photos, a group photo, and a cute picture of you! he captions it with "sry it's late :P happy grad to our happy grad <3" and ofc the boys put him on blast for being late

suna is similar to atsumu (not surprisingly) but not as aggressive. he definitely makes it more mysterious as to where he's going on his story as he posts a mirror selfie of him all dressed up (practically a thirst trap ugh....) and even posts the cute bouquet he got you without context LOL. after that, the next story post is a video of you scurrying over to him and the rest of the group. he posts a picture of the two of you together (def a .5 pic) and captions it with a simple "with the cutest graduate" !! of course he films your walk, posts it, and follows it with a collage of photos! his post for his feed is of the two of you (his favourite photo ofc), followed by a group photo, one with the boys, one with osamu and sakusa, a selfie, and then a silly one of you (probably a picture of you zoned out during dinner because of how tired you were LOL). he captions it with "cograds @ ynusername B] slay your best slay 🫰🏼"

The Grammy Awards - Part Three.

Part 2

It was amazing how quickly the South Korean government could move when it needed to. The news had arrived on the President’s desk the moment the Grammy’s had ended in Los Angeles, 17 hours behind them. It was all over other various media sites as Seoul and the rest of the nation were waking up to the news that BTS had secured two Grammy wins with their female member, Grace Chu. 

She had won 7 Rings - Record of the Year and In My Head - Album of the Year, with Bang-PD & PDogg also receiving their own Grammy’s as producers of the album. It was a huge accomplishment considering BTS had been up for similar awards so many times and had walked home empty handed every time. The fact that they had been even nominated was a huge accomplishment but now they could hold their heads up high and say their female member had won it for them. 

The military had given Jimin, Jungkook, Yoongi & Namjoon an extra day of leave after the news had arrived so they could be part of Grace’s welcome home party. The government had been quick to act - a hero’s welcome home for opening the door to the rest of the world of idols and K-Pop that a Grammy could be won. 

Of course, some said it was because her song was in English and that she was British had a hand in it. Her citizenship was always a bone of contention amongst some Koreans that she had never given up her British identity, preferring to be dual. And there were the anti-fans who thought their groups deserved it more than she did, that she hadn’t done any hard work, hadn’t done any of the lyrics (although Grace had her name on every song credit) and it just continued as the news was pumped around. 

No one cared though. 

It came down to one simple thing: Grace Chu had won two Grammys in a single night, for an album she had worked her bum off for with two of the men that had always been number one supporters of her solo career. 

HYBE were already making plans to open a special display for the awards, her costumes, and her dress and hype it up even more. 

For Grace, it had been a blur. From the moment her name had been called for the first award, then the second, and then backstage where everyone had congratulated her and there were sooo many celebrities clambering to get a photo with her, and the boys were on the phone sending their congratulations and by the time they got back to the hotel with a police escort, Grace had simply asked: “What the hell has just happened?”

There was champagne, expensive bottles of it, being popped and her father had drunk at least one bottle on his own. Her mother had been calling Korea, telling their friends and family about the night and Sejin had been updating HYBE, Big Hit and the boys with what was going on. 

Grace sat down next to Bang-PD and he reached over, putting his hand on her knee to pat it. “Hell of a night?” he asked, laughing. 

“You could say that again,” she gently laughed and ran a hand over her face. She was more than ready to get the makeup off, get the dress off and have a long shower then crawl into bed. All the stress of the night had melted away the moment the hotel door opened.

“I’m proud of you though, Hea. You work exceedingly hard, double that of the boys and yet you never wanted anything at the end of the day. You simply go with the flow and if it happens, it happens. But look at what happened tonight - your performance and two awards in your name.”

“Our name,” Grace corrected with a grin. “Our name, PD-nim. You, me and PDogg. We each get our own in three months.”

“Three months?” he asked, looking horrified. “Hang on, I need to make some calls.”

She guessed he hadn’t heard that part when they had gone backstage to do photos and they had taken the awards off them, explaining that these were simply props and they would receive the actual ones in the post in three months. 

Sejin sat down next to her and let out a large breath, running a hand over his face, through his hair and slipped his glasses off. “Wonder if they're doing room service right now?” he asked, wiping the corner of his eye.

“I could do with a big greasy burger with extra pickles and a cola,” Grace sighed. If there was going to be a cheat day, now would be it. 

Bang-PD came back just as room service was bringing in trays of burgers and fries and cola, complimentary from the hotel for what she had won tonight. “Perfect timing,” he said as he swiped his own burger and took a seat next to his artist and her manager. 

“So, want to hear some good news?”

Grace and Sejin turned to look at him, eyebrows raised with matching expressions as their mouths were taking a bite out of their burgers. It made Bang-PD laugh and he waved a hand, letting them carry on eating.

“I spoke to the Grammys, we can pick up the awards on the way to the airport. They are going to rush-order them as it were. Took a bit of talking but we did it and the President has been on the phone.”

“President of South Korea?” both Grace and Sejin asked.

“That one. He’s got the information of our flight tomorrow and we’re landing in Incheon around 5:30pm so he’s going to roll out the red carpet as it were. It’s going to be a big hero’s welcome - press, photos, a little bit of a speech, and the boys are going to be there. They're off but they’ve been asked to come in their military dress for the day.”

“Jin is going to hate that,” Grace laughed as she threw the extra pickles in her mouth. “So is Yoongi.”

“From what I’ve heard, they're planning their own celebration dinner for you, us, and their families. So be warned,” Bang-PD said as he reached over to wipe some sauce from her chin.

“You always look after me,” Grace grinned as she took a napkin and wiped at her chin anyway.

“You are his favourite after all,” Sejin mentioned. 

Their flight was leaving Los Angeles at 10:50am so everyone said their goodnights and went to bed. The next morning, it was a bit of a hurry to get the crew moving though Grace’s parents had opted to stay an extra day to avoid the chaos that would be awaiting them when they got home. 

The airport was chaotic anyway and they had managed to get to the first class lounge without much issue even though there were plenty of people with cameras and phones out. The Grammy Awards, which had arrived three hours ago as promised, were locked in a large briefcase which went on with Bang-PD and a bodyguard and had to have special clearance. 

For Grace, it was still a bit of a blur. She hadn’t fully processed what had happened and she hadn’t fully realised the magnitude of winning such an award was going to bring to her, the boys, the company and the country. 

BTS had always talked about how the goal was a Grammy and though they didn’t need one to know their success, it would have been nice to point at it and say ‘We won that.’ No one had ever talked about what winning one would actually mean in the grander sense of things - it opened the doors for other artists out of South Korea to put forward for an award. That anything was now possible thanks to Grace opening up that opportunity. 

When she settled in her seat and they had taken off, she had sent a message to the group chat with the boys, unsure if any of them would be awake or active with the time difference.

‘On the flight home - it’s a 14-hour flight so I’ll see you at whatever time that is.’

Unsurprisingly, it was Yoongi who answered.

‘We have to wear our military dress uniforms. I hate you so much.’

Grace grinned and took a screenshot of the moment when her name flashed up on the screen when she had won her first Grammy and sent it over with the message: ‘Not my fault I won.’

He sent back a grumpy looking selfie but Grace knew underneath all that he was happy and excited and proud.

They were an hour away from landing when Sejin came over to her seat.

“So this is roughly how it’s going to happen - everyone is going off the plane first and us last. And then we’re going through like we normally do but they’ve laid out a red carpet and they're going to have military personnel lining the carpet. When we get to the doors, it’s the usual cameras, photos, bow and wave. There’s going to be a small stage with Bang-PD and we’ll have one Grammy out so they can take photos, answer a few questions and then finish.”

“All this because of the Grammys,” Grace groaned and rubbed her eyes. “They're making it sound like I won every championship in every sport for South Korea. Rather than it just being a music award.”

“They did this when Son Heung-min won his Golden Boot and they did this when the Parasite director, Bong Jun Ho came home after winning an Emmy,” Sejin reminded her. 

“God help them when someone wins an award worth winning then,” Grace yawned as she stretched up her arms and started getting herself ready. 

Her make up artist did a quick job of covering any eye bags and making her presentable, brushing out her long hair that had been tied up in a messy bun for the flight. It felt too much for something so little.

But then Grace had always been good at downplaying anything. 

Even something as big as this. 

She felt the nerves twist when the last passenger was off as was the rest of the team, leaving only Sejin, Bang-PD and three bodyguards left on the plane with Grace. The pilot bowed at her when she passed and thanked her for her contributions, to which she bowed back and thanked him for keeping her safe. 

As predicted, there was a red carpet from where she stepped off the plane to the long hallway which would take her to arrivals. Her bags were already collected by the team that had got off before her. 

Letting out a deep breath, Grace glanced towards Bang-PD who winked at her and gave her a gentle push forward so she would be the first one out of the doors with two bodyguards flanking her. 

She bowed in thanks to those military personnel who lined the hallway for her and she could hear the noise the closer she got towards the doors though they had been closed and blocked off by military and police. 

The moment they parted and the doors opened, the noise became overwhelming. Screams from fans, from the general public to ARMY, to the press as they all tried to get a picture as she stood there, bowing in thanks.

A hand on her back from Sejin gently pushed her towards a stand that was put up with a podium with a microphone on it, the backdrop a mix of big names like HYBE, Big Hit Entertainment, the Blue House, Korea Air and the Grammys. There Bang-PD pulled out one of the Grammys and handed it to her and for the first time, she could feel the proper weight of it.

The prop had been lighter, for obvious reasons, but this felt heavy with its full metal and she could see her name engraved on the plaque at the bottom - both in Korean and English. 

Then the questions started.

Was she happy to be back home? 100%.

What did she think of her performance?  She was very happy with it and happy it went to plan, there were no hiccups. 

Did she wish the boys had been with her? Of course.

What did she think of the Grammys now she had won it?

The question made her pause and out of the corner of her eye, she could see her boys lined up at the side but at the back so they weren’t in the crowd. They were all watching but waved the moment she looked over. 

“It’s a grand prize for a lot of hard work that myself, Bang-PD and PDogg have put into this. But I still think I’m undeserving of this when I know for a fact that Bangtan Sonyeondan is more deserving of it as a group rather than me as a solo artist. However, I’m proud and I’m proud that I’ve opened the door for others and that this brings honour to my family and to my country that I’ve called home since I was a child.”

It seemed the appropriate response as the crowd cheered and she stepped back, handing the award to Bang-PD so he could answer his questions. 

She kept her eyes on the boys though. 

One lot of people pleasing to get through with photos and then she could be out of here, back at HYBE with her people and onto the next thing. 

She was out in record time with a police escort driving her from the airport to the company building, the Grammy briefcase now with her rather than Bang-PD who had gone to see the President of Korea himself. 

“Noona!”

That’s all she needed to hear.

Her arms were trapped to her side as Jungkook rushed over, now in a t-shirt and shorts, wrapping his arms around her to hold her close. Jimin and Taehyung soon followed, Hobi followed straight after that with excited yells and finally, they were joined by Namjoon, Yoongi and Jin. 

“Thank god,” she sighed and leaned all her weight on her muscle bunny who happily accepted it. It felt good to be home, it felt good to be with her boys again. There was no need for more words even as the seven talked around her, mentioning the press conference. 

“Hang on,” Grace laughed as she pulled away. “Let me go and wash my face and wake up. That was a long flight and I don’t even know what time it is.”

They pulled away enough for her to grab the briefcase and hand it over to Namjoon, who blinked rapidly at her. “You can deal with that,” she said and headed off to the bathroom, with Seokjin following.

“This is going to look really weird if someone comes in,” Grace grinned as she watched him glance at the door as it closed behind him. She splashed cold water on her face and scrubbed at the make-up, splashing more water on her face.

Seokjin handed over a towel and leaned against the radiator, shrugging. “I’m sure the boys are betting on what we’re actually doing but I just wanted to say hello and I’m proud of you.”

The make up was off which made her skin felt a hundred times better and it felt like she could breathe for once as she used the towel to dry away the droplets. When it was all done, she walked over to her boyfriend and rested her head on his chest as he wrapped his arms around her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

“I wished you had been with me,” she sighed.

“I know but your parents had a blast from the sounds of it and the night was meant to be about you and you only. Not me, not the rest of the guys, though wait till you hear the stories from when they were at mine - you’ll laugh your socks off,” he laughed and gave her a good squeeze, taking hold of her hand. “I’m very proud of you though.”

“Our time will come,” Grace nodded and smiled at the forehead kiss. “All eight of us.”

Her boyfriend dragged her back to the room where the rest of the boys were looking at the Grammy award, Namjoon holding one and Jimin holding the other.

“It doesn’t look like much, does it?” Taehyung mentioned. “All the prep, stress and everything else for something so small.”

“So what’s going to happen when they introduce us now? Is it going to be BTS with two time Grammy awarded singer, Grace Chu?” Yoongi asked, grinning over at his sister who glared at him and then gave him a good push on the other shoulder.

“Shut up. It doesn’t change anything, not for me anyway,” Grace sat down and shrugged. “If anything it’s more work because they’ll expect another album from me.”

“I’m going to say this now,” Namjoon started as he placed the award on the table. “We’re all very proud of you and we were watching with big smiles on our faces, though the outfit and dance moves need to be talked about. But regardless, she’s BTS. If anything, she’s become more important than me because everyone will want to see her more than us.”

Namjoon got a disgruntled look from his female member and he grinned in return. “Sorry noona, it’s time for you to step up to the plate now. I’ve done my job.”

“What job? I trained you, don’t forget,” Grace pointed out then pointed at each boy in return, especially Seokjin. “Don’t start getting all lackadaisical now. ARMY is waiting for us and you’ve all got months to go before some of you are back.”

“Yeah we need SK1,” Jungkook pointed out.

“Exactly,” Grace agreed. 

“Anyway,” Hobi clapped his hands as he stood, distracting Seokjin from trying to strangle the youngest. “Let’s go and celebrate! Noona deserves to be wined and dined. And then sleepover?”

“Yeah Jin-hyung has plenty of space,” Jimin agreed as he helped lock up the Grammy award. 

“I do?” the man in question asked just as Jungkook said, “Yeah he does. We can all sleep on the couch.”

Big Hit would later upload two photos from the boys to Grace - one with all of them together at the dinner, the Grammy Awards in the centre of the table and the second photo from Jungkook, taking a selfie with all of them fast asleep in the background. 

The perfect welcome home for the two-time award winning singer, Grace Chu.

I still don´t know what is my opinion about what is currently happening around Liam but since it´s trendy to sh*t on him, fuel the drama and basically to cancel him, I saw a lot of posts from h*rries who ofc need to fuel the fire (eventho they are mostly solos) and they are posting videos from 1D times as a proof that H absolutely hated Liam and was done with him multiple times during interviews. Is that true or it´s just h*rries being h*rries who just like to cause more drama and need to prove everyone that ofc his fave and untouched idol H knew about Liam being a sh*t person eversince and hated/hates him for a reason. When the photo of Liam and Niall dropped, I saw comments how Niall took a photo with him because he had no other option (literally was forced to it) and the only person who can stand him is Louis. There is so much drama and i'm just watching it all wishing people would stop, breathe and think. I've seen so many bad takes with no foundation in reality.

I see so many fans who's started sharing their own abuse stories, and a lot of people have gone through similar things that MH is describing themselves. I think they feel a kinship and feel like they weren't heard, understood and acknowledged when it happened to them, and now they're taking their pain out on Liam. They're projecting and creating more hate and drama, while forgetting that we've still only heard one side of the story. I feel for them and what they've gone through, but i also don't think Liam deserves all the hate directed at him.

I also see a divide between fans who think MH and Liam were a fake relationship for PR (or bearding) vs. Those who think it was a real relationship and everything MH saying is the truth. I also see people yell "believe women" while other yell "innocent until proven guilty". What annoys me the most is people conflating the different stories coming out. Liam can have sent fans dick pics or sexted them, without having done anything to MH. These things have nothing to do with each other. The fans saying that the other 1D members hate Liam and don't want him around is simply not true. We've got evidence of the opposite.

I wish people would not react so emotionally and project so much of their own pain and experience with abusive men onto Liam and this situation. Maybe then they'd be able to see things more objectively, sort out fact from fiction, distinguish between people who pile on for clout and attention and people sharing real stories, because tensions are running too high right now to find out what's actually going on. People are too busy policing others on how they should feel and validate each others feelings so there is no room to parse through all the information that's brought forward.

When people are ready for it i want them to consider some things;

Have Liam in any way acted carelessly, abusive, inconsiderately to any gf before? Or shown any behaviour that would lead us to believe he's aggressive or emotionally manipulative? Aka have there been any prior signs?

Does MH have an agenda, benefits in any way from this story coming out or wants attention? Has she proven to be truthful before or been caught lying or changing her story? Is it possible that it was a toxic relationship where MH was giving as good as she was getting, and they're both equally to blame? Does Liam show any signs of having been in a abusive relationship?

Is Liam in a postition to speak up to defend himself? Is it possible that there are contracts stopping him from revealing certain things about the nature of their relationship that would prove he's not to blame? Considering the iron claw image clauses all the 1D boys have been under since the start of 1D?

Is it possible that Liam is guilty of sexting fans, but not anything of what MH is claiming to be true? Is it possible that all of Liam's relationships have been for PR purposes, to make him more interesting to pap and to project on to, and he's been texting other women while in these PR relationships?

I know what i believe to be true, based on the information i have about all this. I also know that MH is too unreliable, considering the context of which this happened, to automatically default to "believe women". I need to hear what Liam has got to say, he deserves to be heard. So that's where i'm at.

A post where I say random things (including spoilers) about Earthspark Season 2 Part 1

The season started great, I was super here for it. Aftermath is fun and Breakdad is entertaining. Didn't love the part where they had the flashbacks and the photos of Aftermath and Breakdown's faces pasted on stereotypical father/son things. Felt weird.

Not a ton to say on the second episode other than fuck yeah Quintessons and lore!

Hashtag upgrade was really fun and we got some great Con scenes. Ravage finally gets some solo time and Shockwave is here being cool too. This is also the episode where I sent the text "Hhggngnhngng starscream" to my amica. Starscream is fucking amazing in this drop.

Swindle and a human immediately threw me back to TFA, Fairmaestro is voiced by the guy who voiced the villain in The Bad Guys and I had to skip to the credits to make sure I was right because nobody had updated wikis with the new VA info. The butterflies thing was kind of funny but I'm too aroace to enjoy it. Cosmos didn't get enough lines. Still a really fun episode though!

The ending to this episode made me sad. Like ok we got the return of the contaminated energon and new horrors and that's great. Jawbreaker is a sweetheart and he was making a friend and they were cooperating so well! JBAM! They were friends! But then Aftermath just was mean and it was upsetting. I am aware that I am a soft baby.

I liked Spitfire during this episode. She had a fun attitude and I liked her vibe. Her asking if everyone there was old as dirt was great. Obstacle course and a fun fight!

I stopped liking Spitfire and get to the first of two episodes I am unlikely to rewatch even beyond me usually not rewatching stuff. The title says it all, it's an impostor episode and a significant number of characters are frustratingly unobservant. The Decepticons are fun though, this is another example of Starscream getting to be cool and stuff. Also I do not like that they made it seem like Wheeljack could have died and then didn't make it clear that he was fine???? Like I was going OK BUT IS WHEELJACK OKAY for a while. Spitfire going to the Con base with the weapon at the end was great though.

The second episode I'm unlikely to rewatch! It's not as personal as the other one, it's just a flavor of cringe-adjacent comedy (especially the Jawbreaker things - I love him but god the interview bit was not my speed) I don't jam with. The family helping to fix up the trailer was really good though.

The finale! This one I'm like 90% down for. Hashtag wanting to keep exploring is amazing and a mood (yes yall keep going let us see the Lore), TITAN TERRATRONUS, QUINTUS AND QUINTESSON LORE (Mo asking if Quintus was good and Terratronus saying he is a Prime deserving of respect....that's not an answer I'm excite), the fucking fights, Starscream having some really good lines and once again obtaining cosmic powers, STARSCREAM CHANNELING FUCKING HORROR AND STABBING AFTERMATH AND SPITFIRE, THE ENTIRE PART WHERE HE CONTROLS TERRATRONUS, Shockwave going "fuck this" and all the other Cons following him as Starscream does his ego stuff....

I know this is just the end of the first drop, but I really found the ending unsatisfying. Like I was just going 'Terratronus is still there'

And also I don't like that the rest of the Cons were trapped inside the dome with Terratronus and Starscream. If the dome stays up to contain Starscream, that means that none of those Cons can do anything. I want to know what Shockwave's plans were. He talked about returning to Cybertron, he can't work on that from Green Quintus Magic Jail.

The other thing is so many characters got good moments (I didn't go into all of them but most of the Cons got them, Wheeljack got multiple really good things, Megatron and Optimus got some highlights) but there was ZERO sign of Tarantulas. Hardtop even got some good lines! Like if it just means he's getting his own episode again in another drop that's OK ig, but like. We didn't see him at all after his debut. Soundwave in the s1 finale was originally going to be Tarantulas, that's why he's sitting like that. Where is spider.

Cosmos was also underutilized, but maybe he'll come back later on. He's definitely voiced by Weird Al (positive). The lore dump was great, can't wait for more screaming about Quintus Prime and his creations (and there being a Quintesson Judge in one of the lore dump images).

Again, it was a fair drop. I said 7.5 but maybe more of a 7.8 idk. The two episodes i don't vibe with and the way it ended take it down but there's a lot to enjoy. Steve Blum continues to be fucking fantastic as Starscream, one who gets to experience all the cosmic powers TFP didn't. He gets to be cool as fuck and also mildly terrifying

You would say to share the Kadi photos and videos in DMS in private! How would I know if I can trust you or anyone else? What if they're a hater disguised?

You can ask the old insta group members the old admins made they trusted every kaisooits there turned out 3 were moles and they shared and exposed everything in the group to others and even went digging about the admins'personal lives and tried hacking them. You think these kind of people won't harm KAISOO? Don't be selfish.

This is the main reason KexoL and Cherries and Jap Le don't share anything with us because they simply don't trust us with our own faves. I also think there are a few qualities that Travis has that Taylor admires. 1) He is fearless and doesn’t really overthink. You hear him talk a lot about riding the rollercoaster of life and taking it as it comes, and heck, he damn near took the podium from the President for fun on a whim 🤣. 2) He had a moderately wild youth and is still super close with his friends from high school. As we know, Taylor never got the school experience she wanted and deserved, so it’s probably nice for her to see that and be around it. (As long as those friends behave and don’t post plane pics, ahem!) 3) By definition, Travis is a team player. Not to say that Taylor isn’t - Jack and Aaron are basically teammates at this point - but she has had to shoulder so much on her own, and to build her brand she’s always had to have a solo, me-against-the-world mentality. Travis has enough ego to want his name in lights, but the concept of not doing that alongside his brother / his team / his parents is just absolutely foreign to him. Taylor has probably never really allowed herself to be part of a team for fear she’d be weakened by it, but for him it’s second nature.

Yibo-Official international accounts

I've gotten a lot of asks about the new Twitter account, so I guess I'll finally address these accounts Yibo-Official has created on international platforms:

Yibo-Official Instagram <- fake?

Yibo-Official YouTube <- fake?

Yibo-Official Twitter <- FAKE!!

Because the Twitter account has been shown to be fake, this calls into question the authenticity of all of them for me. The fan club that shared the Twitter account is the same one that shared the others. Proceed with caution.

However etiquette is still important so I'm going to leave this post up.

Let's talk a bit about etiquette...

International account etiquette

For those who are maybe newer to the fandom or who haven't spent a lot of time on the Weibo supertopics, you might not be aware of the rules and protocols turtles have over there.

Here are the rules in brief:

Never use their real names or tag their accounts.

Nor any other public figure.

Stay 'on-topic' and in your own lane, don't attack others.

Observe and respect top-bottom dynamics.

Don't use other people's content without permission, always attribute.

No feminizing or denigrating, or anything that can damage their image.

No sharing of private information or media about GGDD, no oversexualizing.

No fandom policing or spamming of the supertopic.

No sharing of anti material.

No reposting of content from other platforms.

No spreading of unconfirmed rumors and gossip.

Don't fill the supertopic with unrelated or personal posts.

No unauthorized contests or lotteries.

No merch or sales without admin approval.

There are some people who feel strongly that those rules should apply to international platforms as well. I've always disagreed with that to some degree. I talk about that a bit in this post. However, with GG and DD going more international these rules are becoming more and more relevant to us.

The first rule of BJYX is...

However one of the rules I feel absolutely must apply here as well as on Weibo, is rule #1: Never tag their official accounts or refer to them using their real names.

There are many good reasons for this, but ultimately what it boils down to is,

"what happens in turtledom stays in turtledom."

Everything we do here is for turtle eyes only. When you tag outside accounts or mention/tag their names or initials, you bring others into our world. That crossover can harm GG and DD in various ways.

This is something I talk about in my Fandom Etiquette guide, and it's something I feel very strongly about.

Just look at Twitter, where BXG are often tagging CPN posts, fan art and photo edits with GG and DD's individual names. Look at all the fan wars that causes when solos browsing their hashtags stumble across CPN and turtle fan content. It's completely out of control.

We don't like it when solos tag their hateful rhetoric with #bjyx or #yizhan, and this is why. It invades and impacts our experience of fandom. Please respect the fandom experience of others. Even solos you dislike deserve this courtesy, and as I have already stated, fan wars are harmful. We need to do whatever we can to prevent them.

And it's not just solos we should be concerned about. Anyone interested in GG or DD, when going to Twitter, is likely to browse #wangyibo and #xiaozhan. The last thing we should want them to stumble across is a fanfic prompt about spitroasting, pornographic fanart of GGDD, or CPN clowning.

Respect GG and DD's personal reputations.

It's fine to clown, it's fine to write fanfic and draw fanart - even smut. But it's not OK to make that a feature of what passersby will see when looking them up. STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE.

This is doubly true with their official accounts. Just don't do it.

And this goes triply for tagging official accounts in fandom disputes. Incredibly I've seen this happen on Twitter quite a bit, including solos tagging official endorsement accounts to slander BXG.

Do I really need to explain why that's an insane, ridiculous, utterly disruptive and awful thing to do?

EDIT: And toxic XFX on Twitter are currently tagging Yibo-Official on turtle CPN posts, trying to start a war. As I said in this update, blocking is the best protection for turtles and for Yibo-Official. Toxics can't tag and harass over posts they can't even see.

Bottom line: Just don't tag their official accounts. Don't comment in their account threads with anything Yizhan related - or anything related to the other (i.e. don't mention GG in DD's comment threads, or vice versa). Don't mention their real names in your clownery.

Don't do it.

Stay in your own lane.

A note on authenticity

I waited to post about these because I wanted to be sure they weren't fakes. While DD's fan club did post them on Weibo, I wanted to be doubly sure because of how misleading fakes can be. Especially since there were issues with one of the videos being removed from the YouTube channel (it was later restored).

The release of the Hidden Blade roadshow video on YT confirmed for me that this is highly unlikely to be a fake account. The video uses English captions in the same style as the Chinese ones that appeared on Weibo, which means that whoever added the captions had to have access to the original footage.

The amount of effort someone would have to go to in order to fake that clip, it's unlikely to be fake. They'd have to hunt down all the original clips (if the footage was even ever released previously), edit it precisely and then add captions. Not something I see a faker bothering with.

So while these accounts will likely never be 100% verified, I think we can be reasonably certain of their authenticity.

UPDATE: The Twitter account was a fake, so I think that we need to consider that all of them might be fake because the fan club that shared the Twitter link was the same one that shared the link to the YouTube and Instagram accounts.

Is Tumblr coming next?

Some people asked me if Yibo-Official will create a Tumblr account. You people are monsters!! 😅 No, please no! The last thing I need to worry about is DD's team reading our clownery here! 😅

Rest assured, this is highly unlikely to ever happen. Tumblr is far too tiny of an audience to make maintaining an account here even remotely worth it. Especially since most of the people here also use the other major international platforms. There would be no point.

Jikookers have talked about Jimin sabotage from that company. When that article praising JK came out Jikookers talked about Jimin mistreatment from that company and got ratioed by Armys and JJKs like Jikookers always do. When it was revealed that Tae was getting 5 mad, Jimin mistreatment was talked about then too. When the other members released songs during Jimin’s debut, Jikookers talked about that. When it was revealed that Yoongi was getting a turn and that Jimin’s promo period was over, Jikookers talked about that too. Any time solo Stan’s tried to say Hobi, Yoongi, or Namjoon got less than Jimin and that Jimin is the company’s fave, Jikookers defended him then too.

Y’all just don’t like the fact that Jikookers defend Jimin while also praising and loving JK at the same time. Now I don’t know what kinda of Jikookers y’all keep up with but the ones I keep up with have always defended Jimin. A lot of Jikookers even became PJMs because of how Jimin has been getting treated.

I'm fine with people celebrating each one like the individuals they are. Not everything has to be connected. Some things are not the same.

I've stated in posts that Jk deserves good fans who love him. I've defended Jk myself. But I won't worship Seven or anyone who is the cause for Jimin's music to not be recognized the way it should be.

I saw photos from Louis' show in Łódź, but I didn't see anyone post a review of this concert. A review finally written by someone who is not paid by Irving. Someone who did not compare him to other artists, but described what he saw, what he heard, what he felt.

Louis Tomlinson's phenomenal show

Fans' emotions reached their peak. British singer Louis Tomlinson performed on Monday at the Atlas Arena in Łódź as part of his solo tour "Faith in the Future" promoting the latest album of the same title.

The concert started promptly at 9:00 p.m. The stage in front of the stage was packed and the excitement in the air could be felt long before the show started. Finally, the moment came when Louis Tomlinson entered the stage, causing an explosion of loud cheers from the fans. Their enthusiasm was indescribable, and the atmosphere was filled with magic and electric tension. The artist began his performance with the song "The Greatest".

For the next hour and a half, Louis Tomlinson presented to the audience his greatest hits, as well as songs from his latest album. These included, among others: "Back to You", "Out Of My System", "Walls" and "Written All Over Your Face". Tomlinson's fans did not spare their energy and shouts. The crowd sang along with Louis, and the atmosphere at the concert was unique. You could feel the excitement that spread throughout the Atlas Arena.

During the final "Silver Tongues", red streamers shot up, causing great euphoria and starting one of the most memorable moments in the history of Atlas Arena. Some of them hung in the air, creating magical fabrics that added even more charm to the place. Fans left the concert with smiles on their faces and with streamers hanging from them.

Louis Tomlinson is in great musical form and performed at his best. You could feel that he had a great voice and charisma. He felt like a fish out of water on stage, and the audience was delighted with his performance. Without a doubt, the sound system and special effects of the concert were also of a very high standard. The entire event made it an unforgettable experience for everyone present.

Andrew Cushin and The Lathums performed as support for the concert, which turned out to be an extremely good choice of the organizers. The artists heated up the atmosphere before the main performance. Andrew Cushin, a young and talented singer from Newcastle, fully deserves his place on this stage. His voice exuded passion and power, and his entrance with "You Don't Belong" sent fans into euphoria. The Lathums, a band from the north-west of England, also provided an unforgettable experience. The melodies and lyrics of songs like "Struggle" and "The Great Escape" were full of energy and emotion that easily filtered through the crowd. The performances of Cushin and The Lathums were not only solid support, but above all a unique spectacle in their own right.

The concert at Atlas Arena was certainly one of the most important musical events in Łódź this year, and Louis Tomlinson's performance was further proof that he is one of the most popular and talented singers of the young generation.

The Great Produce 48 Rewatch: The Unaired Auditions

Hey there, National Producer! (That's you!)

In the previous installment of my beautifully pointless Produce48 recaps, we finished off the majority of the auditions, but there were still a few more to talk about -- the ones that MNET didn't air at all, not even for a second, including the audition of soloist AleXa and future members of Lightsum and Secret Number. We also need to look at some pie charts and stuff to analyze the complete distribution of grades amongst the different contingents! So let's get to it! This is a relatively short post, so don't be afraid.

Let's start with

Audition 36

Shitao Miu(17), Nagano Serika (17), and Honda Hitomi (16), from AKB48, doing Mister by Kara.

My thoughts: At least they’re really trying to do a kpop song and choreo. The beginning part where they’re all doing different things is part of the original choreo of the song, if you're wondering. They don’t really nail that classic “butt” choreography that Mister is famous for, but it’s actually pretty deceptively difficult to do. They also manage to not clap on the beat at about the :45 mark when they’re supposed to be… you know… clapping on the beat. Aww, bless ‘em. But they are singing in Korean, they’re throwing themselves into the choreo, they’re singing on key, really this isn’t bad at all. 

I am distracted by these horrible pants, however. They look like something one of my aunts would order from the Chicos catalog and wear to the vortexes in Sedona. They look like 1990 threw up on a group of Y2K ravers. They look like something Balenciaga would convince a dumb millionaire to buy and wear to Ibiza. I don’t much care for them, is what I’m saying. 

Hitomi got a C; Miu got a D; and Serika got an F. I think the F for Serika is a bit harsh but as always it’s hard for me to hear their live singing.

Audition 37

My thoughts: Oofta. She must have been really nervous. She was ahead of the beat a lot of the time, her vocals were shaky, and she was sharp most of the time. Her dancing was sort of vague, somehow. Just… really not so great. I think the judges were actually pretty kind to give her a B. We still love you, AleXa. You’ll be coming back into vogue. 

Audition 38

These are the two models, here from their modeling agency to show that they can do other things. But can they? The dancing is lazy and vague, but I’ve seen much worse. Yewon had that smile frozen on her face the whole time, while Yeonsoo forgot to smile even once, and I’m not sure which is worse. The singing sounded really good, but given that Yewon got an F from the judges and Yeonsoo got a D, I think that was all backup track. I can’t figure out why Yeonsoo deserved a higher grade than Yewon, so maybe it was their solo singing later. Really, they weren’t Hyewon level atrocious, and I don’t think Yewon deserved an F unless she literally couldn’t sing at all on her own. 

Audition 39

Kim Dahye (16?) and Kim Nayoung (15, future Lightsum) from Banana Culture performing I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend by Weki Meki

Overall, really not bad, though this choreo looks a little silly with only two performers. I don’t love Nayoung’s vocal color, but she was on key and strong. Dahye mostly rapped, and when she sang, her tone was strained and harsh. I think she’s applying for the rap position so she’s held to lower vocal standards. She did that kind of talk-rap that a lot of girl-group members do in Kpop (Twice, I’m looking at you). Dahye showed some pretty strong, sharp dance moves, and Nayoung mostly kept up. Nayoung had the better stage presence of the two, but neither of them seemed unusually nervous or shy.

The judges give Dahye an A and give Nayoung a C. I think I would have given them both Bs. I really don’t understand the A for Dahye in particular when she didn’t really display any vocals. 

Audition 40

Seoyoung sang mostly decently, though she obviously relied heavily on the backup track. Jinny rapped over it with a lot of CL/LE-style swag to her voice, in a way that sort of threw me off because it’s not in the original song and sounded a little out of place. It wasn’t “bad”, just surprising. It reminded me of that old skit about Obama’s anger translator, where President Obama says something in a formal, political way and his “anger translator” says that thought in angry slang/AAV.

Both of them danced pretty well -- this choreo isn’t easy -- and had decent stage presence, though Jinny was a little… too much. They both get Cs. I actually think that’s pretty fair. 

Bonus “Audition”: Tanaka Miku and Tabuki Nako, both age 16, from HKT48

Not really the audition, but here 

Ok, bear with me. This is the best we can do to see what their audition would have been like, since their audition isn’t on Youtube due to MNET censorship. The song is about two bananas talking to each other about who will mature sooner. I mean, obviously -- what else would a song be about? These lyrics are suggestive in a variety of ways, and I think that’s on purpose, but MNET really over-reacted. I’m not going to list all the more suggestive things mentioned in many of the other auditions, but you probably have a sense. In any case, I can’t actually evaluate this as it wasn’t really live, but I guess it’s cute…? Their audition didn’t go very well, I guess, since they both got Fs from the judges.

The judges announce the final ranking results, including how many trainees were in each grade. Here’s the overall break-down:

It’s worth taking a look at the difference between outcomes among the two groups. 

There are 39 Japanese girls and 57 other girls (most are Korean, though a few are from other countries and signed to a Korean label) in the competition. Since about 40% of the trainees are Japanese, you’d hope that about 40% of each “grade” would be Japanese. But most the Japanese girls got D or F, and most of the Fs and Ds were among the Japanese girls.

Put differently: 

15 As were awarded, and only 2 of them went to Japanese girls (13%)

25 Bs were awarded, and only 4 of them went to Japanese girls. (16%) 

22 Cs were awarded, and only 5 of them went to Japanese girls. (22%) 

15 Ds were awarded, and 11 of them went to Japanese girls. (73%)

19 Fs were awarded, and 17 of them went to Japanese girls. (89%)

So the Japanese girls have quite an uphill battle in front of them. 

The End of the Audition Phase

Per AleXa in her interview with Grazy Grace, that first day of filming was 24 hours, with only short breaks for food. Wow! And it only took me, what, two weeks to write all this.
