28 January 2025
Had a bad mental health day today, couldn't study everything I'd planned. I managed to make some flashcards but didn't have the energy for revision, so now I'm very slightly behind schedule but oh well. That happens. One of the main things that have been worrying me today has just been resolved though, so this evening got a tad better. Hopefully tomorrow will be more gentle with me. Have a peaceful day/ night everyone 🍃

TMAGP Theory Board (S1 EP 7)
Dang that episode was a RIDE Hope everyone had a relaxing week because after the newest protocol episode I am screaming!! so lets get right to it
What Happened in Episode 7: Give and Take
Celia seems to know something about the powers with her references to the buried and the flesh in the opening conversation with Alice
Celia recognizes Chester's voice!! since the introduction of Celia's last episode, I wanted to see how she would react to hearing Chester and Norris and we got that in this episode. It's safe to say that Celia recognized Chester's voice as Jon. This piece of evidence makes me almost 100% sure that this Celia is the same Celia/Lynne from Archives
Jon is Back!!! after Chester's statement (more on that later) we learn that Sam has been getting emails from someone named Jon. He also mentions it in an internal email. This helps support the theory that Jon and Chester/FR3-d1 are fused somehow which is what I (and a lot of the fandom) have been thinking. This leaves me with a lot of questions how else can Jon communicate through FR3-d1 with the outside world? Are Martin and Jonah sentient as well? Also, my big question is if this is the first time Jon has been able to signal to the OIAR Staff or if he has been trying to get them to listen since he manifested in the world and Sam was the first one to notice him or is this his first attempt to make contact. I'm interested to learn more about how Jon will continue to influence Sam. I think he's either trying to warn Sam about the OIAR's true intention or is he looking for some way to escape FR3-d1 and needs Sam's help.
This week's statement involved a place called Hilltop Centre branch of the Oxford people's trust. if you were like me and my roommate all your lore alert bells started ringing the moment Hilltop was mentioned. for people who are new to the Magnus Universe Hilltop Road is a major location for avatars (usually web-aligned ones) and also was the childhood home to the desolation avatar Agnes Montague. Hilltop is a big deal in TMA. Hilltop Centre being located in Oxford also lines up nicely with where we know Hilltop Road is located. I'm interested to know if we will hear anything about the house at 105 Hilltop Road being student housing because if that is true then we can connect the statement giver Anya Villette From MAG 114 to being from protocol's world. if that's true there could be a way to get to the Archive Universe through the gap in reality (a wormhole that exists where the house was built) Anyways definitely will have to listen for any more mention of a place called Hilltop in Oxford
Gwen was promoted by Lena to external liaison and is officially "In" It's time to learn the OIAR's secrets! after doing some research into the job title of external liaison it seems that Gwen is almost gonna be acting as a messenger between the OIAR and another party which is unclear at this time. my guess is it has something to do with Starkwell which was the private military contractor that was mentioned in Episode 4 but that's just a guess and me trying to fit in pieces that have not found a snug place in the lore yet. could be someone else (I'd love to hear your thoughts)
Remember our Buddy Klaus from Episode 4 who we thought was killed by Lena? turns out Klaus is still alive we learn through Gwen and Lena's conversation, that Lena was paid by someone to kill Klaus but failed.
Colin is more paranoid than ever! could be because of the eye or the institute but he does not want to be near technology right now.
Ooh boy that was a lot I'm still reeling from this episode so I'll leave it there for now. honesty I'm most stoked to hear Jon's back in the story and excited to see what role he'll play in Protocol.
Hope you guys have a wonderful week ask box and comments are always open and I'll be back next week for the episode 8 debrief/theory crafting

Rebel Moon AU
Kara as Kora, a war orphan raised by the enemy for the purpose of eventually helping her adoptive father kill the royal family.
Lena as Princess Issa, who becomes Kara's ward as a child-- and is assassinated by Kara at the will of her plotting adoptive father. Except Lena has magic, which preserves hdr life long enough to be smuggled off the dreadnought to safety.
Kara goes on the run believing she's killed her much adored ward, and lives as a fugitive, eventually coming to a small farming village called Veldt. There she's taken in by the Danvers as an extra hand to help with the harvest, and remains for a few seasons.
Meanwhile, Lena recovers and goes into hiding, soon finding herself among the rebels. She learns to fight and joins the cause. Not necessarily to avenge her family, but because the Motherworld is harming the galaxy, and needs to be stopped. Plus, she finds community among the freedom fighters, and devotes her loyalty to the resistance's leaders. She comes of age with them, while Kara is escaping through hyperspace, and is an adult when Kara comes to the resistance asking for help defending Veldt from the Motherworld.
Lena is among those who join Kara's cause. Kara doesn't recognize Lena-- not only does she believe the princess dead at her hand, she last saw Lena as a child, and Lena wears heavy eyeblack that helps to obscure her features. But Lena recognizes her. She's dreamed of her would-be murderer's face over the years, but in this moment she sees how broken Kara is, how desperate she is to save the lives of innocents.
When the Motherworld's forces ambush them at the black market trading post, Lena is the sole survivor of the rebels. She watches her beloved leader sacrifice himself to take out a turret, but vows to continue supporting Kara in his stead.
Lena and Kara grow closer as they return to Veldt. Lena doesn't confess her identity, not even when Kara confesses her role in the assassination plot, in explanation for being a high target bounty. Lena simply holds her hand, and listens to Kara's words.
They and the others of their motley crew help bring in the harvest before the dreadnought comes-- a glimpse of what a simpler life might have looked like for them. They help train the townspeople to fight and defend themselves and their homes. The night before the anticipated arrival of the dreadnought, the crew trades their backstories. Kara confesses some of her story-- a war orphan raised to be a soldier devoted to the Motherworld. Similarly, Lena only shares some of her own-- an orphan left for dead, adopted by the resistance. They make no mention of their unlikely--and semi unknown-- connection.
During the fated battle between the people of Veldt and the Motherworld's forces, Kara is tasked with taking her old ship up to the dreadnought with the plan of sabotaging it. Lena remains on the ground with the farmers, to help lead the charge to give Kara time to pull off the sabotage.
They're both successful, but when a grievously wounded Kara all but crashes her shuttle escaping the exploding dreadnought, Lena's magic senses Kara's imminent death. She abandons the farmers' celebrations to dash to where Kara lies dying. When Kara is unable to fight her injuries, Lena is overcome with power-- her power, that has lain dormant for over a decade.
The depth of her love and her desperation to save Kara floods her with healing power-- it spreads from her in a bright, warm glow, spreading first through Kara, then the bodies of fallen farmers and Motherworld soldiers alike. Kara's eyes open to the sight of the magic she had seen once before, in a little girl she'd sworn to protect. Finally, she sees the princess in Lena's features, through the disguising eyeblack now stained with tears. She understands now, that the princess lives-- and that Lena loves her despite Kara's role in her near death so many years before.
The strain of raising so many people from the dead causes Lena to lose consciousness. Kara carries her across the battlefield, as soldiers and farmers alike kneel in reverence. When Lena awakens, Kara is at her side, still brimming with questions. But Lena can only lift her hand to Kara's cheek, and offer the one answer she can give, for now.
"I forgive you."

If magical madness, character development, and quirky questing is the game, then Arcana & Ambitions is the name. Welcome to a new fantastical alternate universe inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, where our favorite ensemble cast is preparing to face challenges -- and capers -- unlike anything they've confronted before. This story world has everything: hard-fought found family, themes and motifs, Charlie-centric religious allegory (I'm not saying he's A&A's Jesus / Moses / etc., but... I'm not not saying that?), tragic nuanced but hopeful RL backstory, magic as a metaphor for queer identity...
Also, Mr. Puff is a 12-foot tall dragon. Did I mention that part?
So much lore to unravel, epic legends to share... and this is just the beginning. Prepare your satchel and grab your lute, friends and vagabonds alike, because the adventure starts now. Welcome to the world of A&A, created for Meg as part of AMBITION Secret Snowflake 2024.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
CREATOR NOTE: Happiest new year, Meg! So... um... here's the thing. As you know, I have been all over the place these past few months. Life crazy, brain melty. So I told myself upfront I wasn't going to write something this year. But then, after a helpful and very fun brainstorm conversation with Lena (@dunsbar I owe you several life debts), I got this idea. I figured I'd make some notes, make these little trading cards, boom done. Cute idea, incorporates the blorbos and their complex dynamics (platonic, romantic, and otherwise), features fantasy and D&D which you love, so slam dunk. Only then... I got inspired. And then I got very inspired. And suddenly I had buckets worth of lore and several campaign ideas and a whole overarching plot for the entire "series" of A&A and there was just absolutely zero way for me to comprehensively complete all of that in, you know, a month or so. To say I overwhelmed myself would be an understatement. But this AU was also always intended to be a living document of sorts, in the spirit of D&D, where we could grow and play in the narrative together. So despite the fact that my proofs aren't completed and I've written like 5K words of scraps here and there nowhere near a coherent reading experience (though rest assured, I will share them with you), please accept this gift as a long-term investment. This is a promise, from me to you, that I will continue to sketch out this story world and play in the story sandbox with you -- and the rest of AAAGC, of course -- for many moons to come. This is my destiny, and hopefully yours, if you'll join me as a recruit. Thank you for opening your heart to the world of AMBITION, to my silly, story-weaving (sometimes out of control) brain, and gracing me with your friendship. Here is to many more campaigns to come. 💜🐉 Love, Maggie (And maybe someday I'll finally learn how to actually DM. This is a good starting point, right? AMBITION truly solves everything).
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Like any good D&D-type universe, there will be several quests to embark upon, but every journey has to start somewhere. For A&A, that's OBLIVION.
(And of course, there's music. Follow the playlist on Spotify!)
Synopsis and general description proceeds under the cut.
In this whirlwind first campaign, we follow Charlemagne "Charlie" Gardner, a human from the humble, pious fishing town of Haverfort. He'll be quick to tell you he's a very normal guy, fully content to live out the rest of his days as a quiet monk in the order of Charles Magnes studying the ancient texts. At least, that was the plan, until one little detail derails everything -- he has sorcerer blood in his veins, and thus magic at his fingertips, which chooses to present itself at the most inopportune time. In a community where use of magic is seen as sinful and strictly frowned upon, Charlie finds himself exiled before he can blink, even despite his insistence that he has no intent to use this new power. As far as he's concerned, it doesn't exist.
Charlie can problem solve though, so he crafts a new plan as his ostracism begins. He'll travel across the continent of Yew Nork in search of his older sister, Bridgit, who mysteriously also disappeared from home around her 20th orbit. If he can find her and bring her home, he figures, maybe they'll both be allowed to rejoin their town. Only one problem: the world out there beyond Haverfort is big, and full of curiosities and dangers Charlie has never even thought of facing before.
Not to mention it's lonely wandering on your own. Very, very lonely.
Lucky for him, it won't be long before he encounters new recruits to join his campaign. First there's Schippy, the seemingly average wild mutt-like critter whom Charlie elects to share some food with and immediately earns his devotion in response. Then he meets Dylan Orlando, a lively half-elf bard from Green Witch Village who is happy to partake in a little adventure (and more than eager to make a new friend). A trip through the vast canopy of the Brook Lynne Forest introduces Asher, a (reluctant) young tiefling druid who perpetually wears a pair of goggles he tinkered together himself, who only agrees to go along with them to Grand Central East marketplace to run an errand for his pixie friend, Jade Green. Once that's done, they'll go their separate ways again...
But things are only about to get wilder, with several compilations arising once they get to market. For one, Charlie's powers keep acting up the more he tries to suppress them, basically giving himself shock therapy on accident; Asher doesn't seem much better about his own tiefling abilities, which he's so scared of he also avoids using his druid powers (like being able to turn into a phoenix -- Bird Bones -- which is pretty damn cool if he'd actually use it). They're being tailed by this shadowy figure apparently known as Snapback, who seems intent to murder Charlie once he's done having a little fun with him (which hex knows why, but perhaps the ghostly shade woman who helps them out of a sticky situation in Tekkie Hollow can shed some light despite being surrounded by the darkness...)
There's the fact that Charlie has been having strange dreams, corresponding with a beautiful (who said that), bold figure compelling him to embrace his abilities who, oh yeah, apparently turns out to be a patron deity, AKA a literal god. Or what about the looming threat of Hell's Cauldron in the distant west, where the daemons of the dark world lurk and are certainly putting their mischievous fingers on the scale in what started as a small hike for a reunion that has now spiraled into a matter of gods and gravity far beyond Charlie's comprehension? Don't forget the worried whispers of The Oblivion, a monstrous force that has been terrorizing the continent in the west for well over a year and leaves utter ruin in its wake?
But like any epic saga with themes and motifs, the truth is never as simple as it seems... and we're about to start peeling back the layers in Ambition & Arcana Part 1: OBLIVION.

incredibly intrigued by your sam thoughts give me more
hooooohohohohohoh *rubs together grubby little raccoon paws*
I am excited to answer this and also don't know how much more I'll be able to say about Sam that I haven't already discussed here and here (though danged if I'm not going to try!)
Something that I think is central to understanding how my brain thinks about Sam is the way I think about Gwen; more specifically-
(Gwen and Sam from @boonsandwhatever 's amazing art, found here)
While I don't truly think they're the exact same character, I believe that what we've seen of them so far suggests that we are looking at two characters who, in their heart of hearts, are very similar in terms of their inner selves and motivations, but who are nonetheless being set up to walk two very different paths.
So how are they similar? We've seen so far that Gwen and Sam are both
goal-oriented
hardworking
stubborn
temperamental (Sam less openly, but it's there)
petty (not as obviously as Alice, but it's soooo there)
curious
seeking validation for their work/pursuits/questions
not in the career/field they had aspired to be in
under tremendous pressure from their families (Gwen's has not been directly addressed, but what we know of the Bouchards and and Gwen's comments about her 'friend' circles seems to suggest this)
driven (Gwen towards power/recognition, Sam towards understanding - both of these tie into that need for validation)
barely holding it together
more sensitive to teasing than they let on
imposter syndrome? (this one may actually be a stretch but all of the above similarities strongly suggest this one)
Of all of the above traits, "curious" and "seeking validation" are the two that I feel are Sam and Gwen's strongest motivators right now - and were also the source of their conflict in episode 18. They are, of course, pursuing answers to their own questions without realizing that, in this case, they are the ants seeing separate parts of the massive and horrible mystery that is pushing into their lives.
Sam's path has him looking out as he seeks to learn more about The Magnus Institute and about the catalysts and victims of the cases they get at the OIAR. Gwen's path has her looking up, as she questions the role the OIAR plays within the government/society, how it is structured and managed, and what employing literal monsters has to do with it all.
In an ideal world, Sam and Gwen would team up to be like the supernatural Wonder Twins. If they're able to see past their misunderstandings and the walls they've put up, I think they could actually get a lot done - but I worry that their insecurities, ambitions, and lack of validation at the right times/in the right places will push them further away from the best possible allies they have: each other.
(If you're fanfiction inclined, I've actually explored some of these team/friendship dynamics in my fic "Pieces of You." Part 2 continues to explore how Sam and Gwen interact when they are seemingly in opposition)
I do think there is a very good chance that both Sam and Gwen end up in difficult, morally challenging, or outright evil situations as a result of their need for understanding, recognition, and validation. I've seen a lot of folks suggesting that Sam could become "avatar-ized" or willingly take on The Powers of the Horrors in order to finally "live up to the potential" that he perceives himself as having been denied when he was rejected from The Magnus Institute. As for Gwen, I think (hope, pray) that her own insecurities and need to prove herself could lead her right into the claws of Lady Mowbray, someone that she has already defended in front of Lena simply for being of a higher echelon, and who has already given Gwen a level of recognition that she did not expect but clearly craves (when Lady M asks about her family line). Of course I would be tickled pink if they both got over themselves, communicated, and worked together to overcome (or at least understand) The Horrors!
Anyway, I know this ended up being more of a Sam and Gwen rant, but I hope you enjoyed, and thanks again for asking!

Baylee "Baaabe" Graham Talbot (they/she) App Designer and Social Media Manager for the Dahlia branch of Vesta. Has had top surgery, plays guitar

Bellatrix "Darlin" Lovett-Hunt (they/she/he) has a full sibling 16 years younger, their first shift broke covert in a big way (towards the end of last year of middle school) which is why their family moved to Dahlia in the first place. Also Pack Karaoke Champion
Lena "Lovely" Sebert (she/they) was an independent/freelance journalist with a community college degree prior to meeting Vincent. Was raised by a single father
Elijah "Freelancer/Deviant" Samson (he/they transmasc) parents are still paying for their T shots, he's still on their insurance but gets no allowance or funds from them. They tried to ship him off to live with his and Angel's grandparents because they couldn't deal with the accidental magic anymore. They're exploring their femininity again thanks to Dear.
Nova "Starlight" Rice (she/they) Full-Cert, Professor at DAMN idk what they teach yet
Rigel Aspidiske "Warden" Stellar-formed, Congruent of Rak'Xit, bound in his Madrigal. (they/them) named for a star in the Orion constellation, their horns form a circlet across their brow, with the release of the D(a)emon quiz, they have been renamed for one of the brightest stars in the Carina constellation as a nod to kinship with Avior
Nell "Cutie" Hanson (they/them, sometimes she/her) was a cheerleader at DAMN. Parents are both telepaths so while their powers didn't manifest until puberty, they did not grow up with the privacy of their own mind at home. Coupled with a string of both empowered and unempowered relationships that left them with trust issues, Geordi was so open and honest with his thoughts it was such a comfort just being able to hear him, he's the best thing that's ever happened to them.
Brook "Dear" Yasuda (she/they transfemme) Sailor Mercury vibes. (I was also maybe inspired by this one specific fanart of a masc!Dear in a yukata that I first saw on twitter) Loves the beach. Has, in fact, learned all the waterbending moves from ATLA and TLOK.
Sunshine (Luci, she/they) and Honey (Beam, they/any) I'm still working on quite a bit with them.
Shaw Pack next gens below the cut (take 'em or leave 'em)
All shifters, age order
Benjamin "Benji" Talbot (he/him) eldest by a year. has his dad's smile and eyes but Baaabe's nose
Hallow Greer (he/they) is the best at non-shifting magic
Lilith "Lily" Shaw (she/her) future Alpha, has been a menace since the day she was born. Frank says she looks a lot like David's mom.
Joy Talbot (she/her) has vitiligo like her dad, hotly debated among pack elders whether she or her brother will be future Beta but she and Lilith were born just two months apart
Gabriel Shaw (he/him) basically Fooliverse!David, youngest by two years
Lily knows Benji is her mate, he hasn't quite figured it out yet but he's loved her forever. (Mary's Song is their love story)
Everyone thought Angel and David would be the first to have a kid.
It took some time on Sweetheart's part to convince Milo he'd be a good dad but it wasn't until he held Benji the first time that he believed it.

Mr. Magnus,
Your presence (as well as the presence of other people from what I can only assume is an alternate universe to mine of some sort, from the data I've gathered) has recently come to my attention. I find this rather intriguing for several reasons: first of all, the implication of a parallel universe. Second of all, the fact that I am able to communicate with this universe via this website. Third of all, the similarities and differences present within this different universe.
It seems that you and your peers have come into contact with and studied these "Powers" that seem similar to the sort of things my office keeps track of, though you seem to have created an entirely different, much more...simple, let's say, way of categorising these Powers. Perhaps they are different in nature to the ones I've been involved with for a good majority of my life.
Regardless, I've decided to contact you for the following reasons: 1. I am fascinated by this phenomenon. 2. You seem like a rather reasonable young man. 3. I'd rather not contact the...older version of yourself, as he seems. Well, frankly, obnoxious. No offence. 4. Your last name is...familiar to me, from past events in my own universe.
Regards,
Lena Kelley, Office of Incident Assessment and Response. ( @lena-kelley-oiar )
Ms Kelley (though if I am using the wrong title, please do correct me),
It is a pleasure to speak with you, and thank you for writing to me. I too have noticed the seeming ability to communicate with people from other worlds with this site; I have spoken to an alternate version of myself who, bizarrely, married and had children.
From your description of how you and yours study the Powers of where you are issue, it does however rather seem as though your world is even more different from my own than that other me's is. I cannot dispute your statement that they are categorised in a rather simple manner, though in our defence, that is more of a framework these days than any true attempt to order them. If you are willing to speak of yours in any manner, I would be rather curious to learn of them—however, there is of course no obligation to do so; an unsecured public forum is hardly the best place to speak of Entities beyond any real comprehension of us mortals.
And do not worry, I take absolutely no offence at your description of Elias as being obnoxious—it is almost objectively true. I am glad you find my reasonable, and again I find myself interested in what you say—past events? I take it the Magnus Institute is not so well-established in your world, then. Fascinating.
Yours curiously,
Jonah Magnus

THE MAGNUS PROTOCOL SPOILERS
This is a totally personal theory, so i might be wrong (I probably am), but, there's nothing I love more than making silly little theories.
I think that if the general theory (at least it's one I've seen multiple times) of Augustus being Jonah Magnus is right, then he might try to manipulate/help Gwen get Lena's position, which we already know she wants. Maybe he's already on it, even. He kinda communicates through statements in tma (mag 160) so why not do it again?
Besides, Gwen is a Bouchard, and it seems like her family is somehow linked to the OIAR (based on the Gwen/Alice exchange of: "Oh? Nepotism, is it?/I learned from the best"). Having Gwen in a more powerful position could help him reach his goals and perhaps get out of an ancient PC? (based on the fact that Lena seems to have some sort of Eye powers in the trailer.)
idk just some thoughts (and sorry if this is terribly written, English is not my first language heh).

I'm 👀 pretty hard at your choice of characters and roles.
Not gonna lie Cool ImpMentio is a genius, he is cute enough to pull a good imp And flighty and convinced enough for the cool trait to fit. I choose mage as because my thought process is he likes fire and explosions and power ans stuff. But he said "I CaST LiGhtiNg" instead >:C and when he does cast explosion it's against the goddamn apple slimes.
I had to take it out of my system. sorry.
I've made Mario cool though, because backflips and extra hard hits.
, ahem. here's the...
Tales of the Fae Retreat
Mario was on the way to Luigi's house to bug him, as it is his obligation as Luigi's brother, got called by God right before knocking on the door. When he got there he went to the closest building to maybe learn what the hell is happening. He rang the bell and was immediately answered by the tini cartoon duck.
She got scared on how much he looked like her friend that got captured but still answered all his questions and tried to recruit him to her party. Because he shouldn't walk around without something to defend himself either way, she handled him the only spare "weapon" she had. A frying pan her friend choose to hold onto because he would eventually, when they got time, give it back, even if he thinks it was going to be trashed.
He's septic but accepts. He thinks is not a good idea to go against the being who talks directly to the one who can bring him there out of nowhere.
(Mario Does deserve three paragraphs, fight mii if you think otherwise.) (Chef because him and Luigi has to have the same job)
Peach was working on her usual princess things and Timpani was chilling, having a day to herself, when they got summoned.
Peach had her fan in her dress, Timpani found herself besides a tank and thought "why not?"
Mario, being the gentleman that he is, immediately compliments Peach when we got her in the party. Like she got in, we head out, Lena one shot a twerky and he does it.
He's the only person who escorts her to safety, he heals her every turn (EVERY TURN. When a monster gets a turn she's the target), they keep showing off mostly for eachother I'm kind of scared of them. I think by this point they have the most friendship out everyone. (Besides Luigi and Dimentio, but i grinded with the first party to not get bodied when getting them back. )
When we were at the citrus cave, Peach drank from a puddle. Idk why that's on the notes :v she turned invisible. Lena drank later, turned into a monster.
And this time, after making an friend, Lena the cartoon duck the cat made a effort to be extra nice to her new party. She brought Peach perfume and castanets to Mario. Peach liked her present, Mario? Not so much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Timpani is a very good glass tank. She only used human cannon ball two times and each with different people. And she didn't hit the party with Wild shot, expect in karkaton, where she hit O'Chunks once but that's another day's tale.
For some reason with her the prep from being cautious trigger in the same turn instead of waiting for her next. it's instant double dmg. Idk why. but I'm not complaining either.
BUT she's using cardboard as armour and it doesn't hold against pretty much anything. If she isn't at the safe space when the enemy attacks she instantly dies, and she hates all the defense food available atm, i backtracked and tested :/
Btw did you know that the voices of the Miis who sing in the title screen in the switch version are from your party?
See ya when you unlock the quests. Good luck.
let me start off by saying that when i started playing this game i knew nothing about the plot or the roles. didn't know about my party getting replaced twice or new jobs cropping up, but MAN i'm so lucky i waited to put Dimentio in the game until Neksdor because the Imp class is BUILT FOR HIM:
incredible. it's like i wrote this role.
(Mario knows better than to defy a duck-cat who communes with God)
Peach and Mario also immediately hit it off in my party lmao. by the time I added Luigi into the party they were already like level 7 together. Timpani SHOULD get to be a tank. it's what she deserves.
anyway, i got my party back. Mr L and Luigi are very confused by each other's presence. O'Chunks keeps sticking bananas in everyone's pockets, and I can't keep Timpani away from the damn horse - lucky for Blumiere he's too busy being possessed to know his wife is cheating on him.
Mr L is generally being the nuisance he's designed to be - he keeps "getting sick" but it's pretty obvious he's faking because eventually someone will check on him and he'll go "ehhh i'm done resting"
because i have 0 restraint, my current party is a dimigi sandwich. somehow, Dimentio is the most emotionally stable of all of us. (i switched Luigi to a cook because the flower class was annoying me. now he's OP)
notice everyone hates my husband, Mr L. he needs to stop being a lazy dick.
they chose the next castle to start a terrible love triangle, and then the above chart happened. Luigi also keeps finding unidentified bottles on the floor and drinking from them, and Dimentio keeps falling through holes in the floor.
Mr L is still surprisingly reliable, even if also terribly infuriating
hey there, gorgeous.

Oooo ooo proper ask. What are your thoughts around Kara and Kal landing on earth at the same time.
Whether they both got stuck in a phantom zone pocket or just landed at the intended time together.
I know you kind of touched on how Kara may be with a baby after so much trauma in POI but, could you imagine her as a teenager with Kal…
The different landing times both have far reaching connotations in relation to Lex (and therefore Lena) obviously. Including the Kent’s and the Danvers involvements in their respective lives.
The rabbit hole goes so deep when you follow along the butterfly effect it has.
I dunno, spit some thoughts at me.
Also, I dislike the idea of Lena being a witch randomly at the end of the series BUT if Lena did happen to obtain an ability/abilities. What would she have and HOW would it have come to pass.
Ooh, this is a great question to mull over. I actually haven’t thought much about this before, so I will think out loud.
In the comics, when Kara arrives on Earth, she usually seems very disinterested in humans and human society (and often just goes off into space to hang out with a more intergalactic community). Humans are… intellectually underdeveloped at best.
I think Kal’s effect on her really rooted her down in humanness in the show - she learned he had grown up as a human, and she was suddenly lost and in need of guidance, so she took his lead and settled down with the Danvers family. (And in the show, she was younger - 13 instead of 16 - so she was a bit more willing to take his guidance.)
But if she had been with Kal since the beginning? Then she would’ve had an obvious purpose - while she would still be mourning Krypton, she would be able to instill her memories and traditions in him. She would feel alone, but not as alone, and might’ve even felt that she was keeping her society alive in the process.
I can’t imagine she would know much about Earth. At some point, she might start spying, trying to observe the culture around her. They would be strange… because they look kryptonian, but she knows they’re much dumber and may not even know life on other planets exist. Krypton would’ve learned of Earth as one of the horribly backwards planets that hadn’t even done any real space travel. They did little bunny hops to their moon? How quaint.
It’d be easy to observe them from afar, with her newfound powers of superhearing and supersight. Over time she’d pick up their habits, their language. She might steal some tasty sweets from their bakeries from time to time, take some clothes because she needs them, listen to the TV from a few miles away.
I’m not sure where the Luthors, Danvers, or Kents fit in this at all. It’s unclear to me if the DEO exists because of Kal’s arrival, or because of Superman’s debut. But as a military-esque organization… it’s possible that Eliza and Jeremiah would’ve been in some other branch of the military (that would eventually spin off into the DEO), and so still eventually become entangled in Kara’s life? Or maybe Kara and Kal crash-landed near the Kents, and it was Martha’s pies that she would keep stealing, until Martha eventually discovered the curious 13-year-old and the baby she was toting around. Maybe Kal got cheeky with his flying powers in his toddler days and flew over to the Kents’ place to get some pie himself.
Maybe Kara would’ve become Supergirl first - that would’ve triggered Lex just as much as Superman, though in a different way. Lex in the show is concerned about measuring up. Kal’s strength (and hair) is a threat to his sense of manhood. Kara wouldn’t tap into that threat in the same way. Which could make Lex a bigger threat in the end, because he would be able to see a little past his own hubris in his attempts to take the super down. And I think Lena would still jump in to stop him, so our super and Luthor would eventually cross paths.
Though if Kara and Kal never went to the phantom zone… then Lex and Lena might’ve found out about kryptonians while they were still kids. Maybe Lex would completely nerd out about it for a while (and he is capable of that, we know that from his Oscar Wilde era). But eventually, I think, it would take the same sinister turn as on the show - he wants to be the man on top, and Kal is a threat to that.
As for Lena’s magic, I wish they had signaled that earlier if that was the way they wanted to go! Cramming it into 6B was no fun. But with the Medallion of Acrata in season 5, that was the perfect opportunity for Elizabeth’s random obsession with the medallion to actually be part of a magical ecosystem she was trying to wrestle with - good witches and bad witches, all trying to deal with each other. Maybe she wanted the medallion for herself. Or maybe she knew it was a curse, and wanted to save others from themselves. Maybe she told Lena that story because that’s how you introduce magic to a 4-year-old who will eventually get those powers.
Though personally, I would’ve just kept Lena without powers entirely, and leaned more into the science/tech/engineering stuff. Into the genius stuff. I loved that about her. Though given that they did do it, I wish they had allowed her to balance science and magic more - but that would’ve required more time and respect for the plot than it seems they had available.
This came out longer than I intended, yet I'm not sure it's a good answer 🤣 But those are the musings I have for the moment. Thanks for the ask!!

I was reading your tags for Kara/Lena and Drarry and got so curious about the supergirl fandom what happened??? Was the supergirl actress homophobic?? The one who was in glee and that’s why she wasn’t?!?
OH MY GOD OKAY I AM SO SORRY FOR WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN
The place? San Diego Comic Con. The year? 2017. Everything seems normal. Casts of shows are doing interviews, cracking jokes, it's a good time. And then the Supergirl cast are interview by MTV. And Jeremy Jordan sings a little musical recap of the previous season, in which he jokes that Kara and Lena are just friends. Well, I say joked...he very enthusiastically insists they're just friends. It is, shall we say, tactless. The cast seems surprised but are all laughing to various extents. Later on in the interview they're asked about shipping, and Jeremy Jordan says he's probably going to get some hate for his having "debunked Supercorp." Melissa Benoist tells him that he's "very brave."
Thus ends the part of this story that physically takes place at Comic Con 2017, but the real drama is just getting started.
(the page break is here for dramatic effect, but also because this somehow got very long)
You have to understand, anon, this is in between the second and third seasons of Supergirl. Karamel (Kara and Mon-El) were season 2's highly divisive power couple and the Karamel stans were making it everyone's business to know they had come out of the season on top. And you'd think they'd be in the midst of a great ship war with Karolsen (Kara and James) who decided to just be friends at the start of the season, but nope! No, their big enemy was the Supercorp fans. It was heated. It was tense. There was a block list that got circulated.
I'd say the Supergirl ship wars were the worst I'd ever encountered, but I would go on to join the Timeless fandom, and learned the very hard lesson of why small fandoms and ship wars should not mix. That being said, I'd put the Supercorp/Karamel drama as worse than the Clexa/Bellarke drama, if that helps put things into context for you at all.
So, suffice it to say, the internet was in upheaval over this.
Since I was firmly on the Supercorp side of the Supercorp/Karamel divide at the time, I can't say with much certainty how Karamel shippers reacted, though I assume they were pleased with themselves. But Supercorp fans were not okay. See, anon, I don't know when you started your journey into fandom, but in case it was after this, 2017 was a much different time. Lesbian ships weren't really shipped with the intention of them becoming canon since it was only recently that lesbian ships had started becoming canon, and wlw fandom spaces were all still reeling from the Great Lesbian Purge of 2016, in which roughly 40% of the canon queer women on television were killed off during the television season. (To this day I will watch shows and a queer woman will unexpectedly die for seemingly only shock value, and I'll be horrified, until I see the date the episode aired. Spring of 2016? Yeah, that tracks. Deep sigh. Lost another one to the Bury Your Gays.) Lesbian ships did not have the strength in canon that straight ships had, or the mainstream nerd appeal that gay male ships had. Not only did you have to contend with bitter ship wars, you had to contend with everyone telling you that you shouldn't be shipping the ship in the first place, that having a vested interest in a ship that would never happen was a lost cause and a question of sanity. To be a fan of a wlw ship was to be shut down at every single turn when you weren't even asking to go down the road and were just looking to see a potential view.
(Supercorp was far from the only ship to ever have to put up with this. If you take a look at fandom history, you'll see this countless times. Heck, the Xena fans who wanted Xena to end up with Ares were very determined that the lesbians would not overtake their show.)
But for some people, Supercorp was their first wlw ship. Their first queer community. Their first validation that it wasn't wrong to look at the main character of an incredibly popular show and wonder what it would be like if she kissed her same-gender best friend. I sincerely hope, anon, that whatever flavor you may favor, you have found that kind of validation in your media. It's liberating.
And now here you had Jeremy Jordan and Melissa Benoist "debunking" the myth that Kara and Lena could ever have feelings for each other. In all ways except physical, it was like the Supercorp fandom had just participated in the ice bucket challenge. And, whether it was as part of the Supergirl fandom or elsewhere, the Supercorp fans had already been through hell. It got ugly. Then there were memes. Then there was a lot of hate tweeting. Then there were people yelling about the hate tweeting. Mostly everyone was just a weird mix of angry and sad. These were two actors, two of the leads on this show, engaging in this behavior. It was a gut punch when everyone was already down.
Friday night, Jeremy Jordan releases an apology. It's not really an apology. It's an "I'm sorry you're upset" with a lot of condemnation and self defense. It has the general vibes that we'd describe in 2023 as "it's not that deep," but instead of addressing it to the fans, he condescendingly addresses it "Hey Kids."
Yeah, he'd spend the weekend regretting that.
Sunday, Jeremy Jordan would put out another apology. It was a sincere one this time, admitting he messed up and didn't truly understand the implications of what he was saying or the deep roots of homophobia in fandom culture. Most people accepted this - he was an idiot who made a mistake. Time would tell if he made it again. (Spoiler alert: he did not.) Some people, however, are still mad.
And then there was Melissa Benoist. Mind you, I don't think she personally acknowledged any of this at all. But her publicist sent out a statement (according to the fact checking I'm doing as I write this, it was in a private email to a fan, who then posted the response to tumblr) that Melissa was a proven ambassador of LGBT acceptance, as shown by her work on Glee. Uh, yeah. So that became a meme.
This, more or less, is where our story ends, unless you count a since-deleted Blind Item put out by TVLine that may or may not have been about the cast of Supergirl (but was heavily speculated to be about the cast of Supergirl) in which someone overheard two actors fighting before an interview the following day about one of their behavior, that ended when the other said "I just can't talk about this right now." (I am so bummed I cannot link this article, anon, you have no idea.) (The leading theory was that Katie McGrath, who of course came to Supergirl already having amassed a sizable queer following from her role in Merlin and also possibly her role in Dracula, gave Mr. Jordan a piece of her mind about what was and wasn't acceptable to say to a queer fan.)
And that's my tale. In addition to the season they were promoting, the cast of Supergirl would go on to do four more seasons and manage to get out of the Arrowverse without overstaying their welcome or being cancelled unceremoniously. And they moved on. Jeremy Jordan went back to New York, where he returned to Broadway and Off-Broadway and he's soon to be Off-Off-Broadway in the premiere of The Great Gatsby: the Musical. He also along the way ended up playing one of Hallmark's very first gay main characters. Katie McGrath went on to be a bisexual character on an Irish show, do the audiobook narration for a lesbian period romance novel, and is a masked evil lady in the new John Wick tv show. And Melissa Benoist went on to do a lot of incredible things in her personal life that don't necessarily belong in this little essay I've written here.
Genuinely, I wish everyone in that cast all the best.
Anon, I am so sorry this got as long as it did. I hope this answered your question!
#tl;dr it was a bunch of silly drama#and no one is actually homophobic#also me saying melissa did incredible stuff in her personal life isn't tongue in cheek or anything#I just didn't want to muddle those accomplishments by making them some kind of redeeming end to this story#because it's not relevant#and also her story doesn't need redeeming#this was wild drama but it was also just a moment#so please do not take away from this that i think any of them are bad people or anything to that effect#can't believe i can spend two hours fiercely dedicated to writing this but not any of the actual essays i have to write#would you believe i actually took out a whole little tangent?#it was about agents of sheild and skimmons#god i have to wake up in like four hours#asks

Karamel Star Trek au
Alrighty then. Let’s see if this works.
Kara Danvers. Kryptonian. Captain of the Starfleet Federation ship the USS Solitude. Her cousin is the captain of the USS Smallville. Adopted by the Danvers family on earth after her planet exploded. Only has her powers on earth
Mon El. Daxamite. Kara’s husband and Number One on the Solitude. He was the prince of his planet which was destroyed in the aftermath of Krypton’s explosion. He tries to make amends for his mothers crimes even though doesn’t really have to.
Winn Schott Jnr. Human. The Solitude’s Chief Engineer. Kara’s best friend. Mon El’s confidant. He knows how Mon El feels about his mother because Winn’s father was a serial killer back on earth and Winn is still trying to undo the damage it did to him.
Samantha Arias. Kryptonian. Copilot of the Solitude. Winn’s live in girlfriend. Ruby’s mother. Still trying to learn about Krypton’s history from Kara. Wishes to one day retire to Argo so she can learn more from Kara’s mother Alura In-Ze.
James Olsen. Human. Communications Officer on the Solitude. Kara’s close friend and best friend of her cousin. One of Kara’s many confidantes. Started the petition that allowed Kara to retain Alex as the Solitude’s doctor
Lucy Lane. Human. Chief of Security on board the Solitude. James’s live in girlfriend. Her older sister is Communications officer on the Smallville. Youngest daughter of a rather infamous General at Starfleet.
Nia Nal. Naltorian. Ensign on board the Solitude. Kara’s protege. One of the younger officers on the ship. Sometimes uses her dream powers to help Kelly and Alex with their respective patients. No longer talks to her transphobic sister.
Brainiac 5. Coluan. Chief Science officer on board the Solitude. Nia’s live in boyfriend. Very much the Spock on the ship. But he’s getting better at the emotional stuff with Mon El’s help. He trips up from time to time. But he’s getting there.
Alex Danvers. Human. Chief Medical Officer on board the Solitude. Trained in combat medicine. Kara’s adoptive older sister. Assigned to the ship, with James’s help, due to her unique knowledge of Kryptonian and Daxamite physiology
Kelly Olsen. Human. The Solitude’s resident psychiatrist. James’s younger sister. Alex’s live in girlfriend. Former combat officer until a personal trauma led her to retire from active duty. So she retrained to be a psychiatrist.
J’onn J’onzz. Martian. Retired Captain of the Solitude. Kara asked to him stay on in an advisory role. Sees Kara and Alex as his surrogate daughters. He also runs the Solitude’s chapel after becoming an ordained minister on earth.
William Dey. Human. Main Pilot of the Solitude. Thanks to his family’s recipes everyone’s stopped using the replicator for desserts. He’s just that good at it. Quite possibly the smoothest pilot since Hikaru Sulu himself.
Andrea Rojas. Human. Winn’s protege. May or may not have a thing going with William. There’s a betting pool on. Mon El’s winning. She, unfortunately for her, knows all of Lena’s criminal moves. As as such, she gladly helps to apprehend the psychopath.
Lena Luthor. Human. Harry Mudd. That is to say. She’s an unrepentant criminal. Repeatedly arrested. Repeatedly escapes. It’s become somewhat of a vicious circle. Especially for Andrea and Kara who view her as a completely lost cause.

eye emoji. who helps the lads with the kid... someone give able therapyyy we are handing out therapy to everyone. ev e r y o n e. but baby angel!! adopted siblings!!! lovely. i do like the song!! i only understood like one outta ten words but the v i be is off the charts, very good sounds. whats the... design type and shit. whats the difference between angel and demons? hows the theology work? what makes someone higher ranking and what makes noah the highest?
ok i dont have recent art of the characters i was thinking abt at all so bear with me. i have two ocs from my very very first oc group, arthur and maria, who were always the support team and i was thinking abt them,,, so im thinking theres a whole group of people who are angels, demons, but mostly who are out of that system, living in that purgatory space, and who abel and cain work with/helped out to get out in the past...
arthur was always the scientist/mechanic one ? so im thinking that. cain n abel see that jasper is unresponsive and they bring him to that little group to find whats wrong, if theres a way to fix him, or if he's really just... a messed up experiment who has no will of his own.
so jasper spent a lot of time w that little group !!! he has a whole family............................. sobs gently
ive thought abt angel a bit (im gonna keep calling them angel i think sobs). they live inside of jasper's body heart and soul, very long blond hair, little sunshine person, tries very hard to help jasper without him being able to hear him,,, they're also most likely blind. either from something before/how they were created or spending so much time as jasper's body. no lights in there.
design differences between angel and demons :
demons have horns, typical devil tails, and typical devil wings
angels have typical angel wings, lion like tails, and a halo that isnt always here but ! it appears !
they can both fly but it's a learned skill. lena is great at it but nell is SHIT at it lmao. angel would have very tiny useless wings bc they could never fly : ( babey
also all angels and demons have a power, a way to fight when they wake up... most times it's weapon summoning (knives for nell, bow and arrow for vik, sword for titania... the list goes on) but sometimes it mutates (eden for exemple w his healing. cody has a similar mutation but im not set on it. something that looks like white fire which could be an indication of who she is lol)
the theology and the hierarchy.............................. its veeeery vague for now . basically god communicates with the higher ranks of each sides. the war started forever ago for god's favors. at first god would help the side they liked most - never using their full power or smth, but giving little help here and there, a legendary weapon, a vision of what the other side was plotting... eventually god got bored of the war and left them to their own devices, each side thinking that they were waiting for one of them to win. so they kept on with the war.
the war in itself has been in a standstill for centuries. angels and demons both go on earth to achieve some things - helping or hurting someone mostly, depending or sides and orders - and it's usually where they end up seeing each other and trying to kill on sight. its a whole aspect i havent really explored yet, and also how vik and nell meet !
the hierarchy is more of a,,,,, typical political,,,, votes and stuff,,,,,,, there's a noah equivalent on the demon side but i havent really pushed that too much yet. in the end its ok if i dont figure out all those details because it's not what interests me until i have a an actual idea :]
#ask me#the unwanted#jasper#angel#arthur#maria#MAN ...................... took me a while to answer sorry

I'm about to answer some asks for this, so my brain needs a scenario where this kind of situation would happen. Maybe Lena and Kara both visit Krypton via transmatter portal bc J'onn's space ship is broken and the means to fix it don't exist on Earth and so they've scrapped the thing for parts. The visit is totally normal, but on their way back, Kara goes through the portal first, and just before Lena steps through behind her, one of her new Kryptonian lab friends calls out to her, almost forgetting to give her a parting gift of some data Lena had wished to study further. So Lena lingers, accepting the gift and issuing many thanks, before she finally turns back to the portal.
Which promptly malfunctions in a shower of sparks and maybe a shock wave/power surge of some kind.
It goes dead as the farewell party stares in shock. Lena too stares, trying not to let her sudden panic at being left behind bubble up her throat and burst out of her. Alura promises they'll be able to fix it, that Kara should have been well through by the time it malfunctioned, that it'll all be okay and Lena will be home soon.
Except the problem isn't easily fixed. Lena does fix it, physically, over the course of months, but even when it should be working, it doesn't. Over the course of several more months, they learn that there's an electromagnetic cloud between Argo and Earth that's preventing both a transmatter connection *and* any kind of communication from reaching earth.
Through Lena's calculations, they estimate that it will be over a year before the cloud continues on its way and leaves the way home clear again.
What if, post S6, Lena visited Argo? Like to fix something that only she could figure out, but it goes wrong and Lena wound up trapped on Argo for like two years? And then she finally reunited with Kara after that time? How do you think Lena would adapt to living on Argo for that long of time with only Alura as someone she sort of knows? And how do you think Kara would be on earth without any way of finding Lena until those two years are up? And how do you think the two years would change them once they reunited?
Hmmmm.... I don't know if Lena would go without Kara, so this one is hard for me to visualize.
What do y'all think?
