For the fanfiction trope ask: Came Back Wrong
100% A. Some of my favourite characters (Jason Todd, Wei Wuxian, Wen Ning) are my favourites because of this trope. The caveat for me is it can’t be half assed. The character has to actually die and be mourned before they come back. I love this trope for the multitude of the themes it can contain and everything it inspires in the characters who love the person who comes back
