Saw this post by @chapeldean a couple years ago and wanted to illustrate these two idiots yearning two feet apart cause they are gay. All the text is from chapeldean's post!
(ID under cut)
[Image ID: A five page black and white Destiel comic. Each image is one page.
Page 1: Cas, shirtless, lying in bed, looking off to one side, thinks: devastatingly handsome. ………….. devastatingly handsome?
Dean, also lying in bed, wearing a ratty t-shirt and looking in the other direction, thinks: i love you…. i love all of you— i love you?
They roll over at the same time, both saying: i don’t want to make this weird….
The 'camera' pans out to reveal they're both lying in Dean's bed in his bunker bedroom, facing each other.
Page 2: Dean says: you go first
Cas looks down at his hand on the blanket between them and says: oh. uh. so when i said i loved you. i meant i love you all. like a family
Dean pauses, then says: ok.
Page 3: Dean looks off to the side, away from Cas, and says: that’s good no that’s what i thought you meant. awesome. and when i said you were handsome.
He turns towards Cas and waves a hand dismissively as he says: i meant that as a friend. you know as a best friend, but really there’s nothing wrong with the way you look, man, seriously, you’ve uh. you’ve got it
Cas looks dubious as he says: thank you. i think
Dean doesn't look convinced either but says: yeah no worries.
Page 4: They stare into each other's eyes and the tension grows. Dean blushes, Cas frowns.
Then Dean turns over to put his back to Cas, faking a grin, and says: glad we cleared that up! we should sleep now
Cas looks disappointed, his left hand outstretched, lying on the blanket between them.
Dean pretends to sleep. Cas rolls onto his back, his left hand fisted over his heart on his chest: yes.
Page 5 is completely black, with white text: goodnight dean.
All the pages are marked at the bottom with the following text in light grey: 'original text/idea by @chapeldean' and 'art by @aerialworms' /End ID]
#supernatural#fanart#destiel#castiel#dean winchester#fancomic#spn fanart#if the last page looks different it's cause i did the first 3 in about a week when i saw the OP and it's been languishing in my wip file fo#2 and a half years since whoops#anyway happy 4 years of canon destiel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#everyone go check out chapeldean's posts they're fantastic#and this specific one has been living in my head since it was posted

Love (cannot emphasis how much sarcasm there is in that word) that an official Canadian government response to high cellphone rates is to switch carriers.
Switch it to what? We basically have three companies since one was allowed to eat the forth (with the government saying it wasn't anti-competition and the company eating the other pinky promising they wouldn't jack rates up). Even the smaller companies have to rent infrastructure from the Big Three so there's only so much they can do if that rent costs an arm and a leg.
And that's not touching on how many "small companies" are actually just subsidiaries of the Big Three. You may save $5 but you're still with Telus/Rogers/Bell.
Or that the actual small companies tend to have shit coverage because they don't have the infrastructure available to them and are prevented from getting it. Or their traffic is throttled in favour of the Big Three's customers. Or both.
Or that they're extremely regional thus aren't an option for a huge chunk of Canada's population.
We have no true options and the government has shown time and again that they're fine with monopolies, in multiple industries, and don't care when said monopolies jack up prices to make shareholders and the c-suite more money at the expense of everyone else. At most there will be a verbal slap on the wrist and a giftcard for $25 that people have to register for, for a decade and a half of price gouging.
It's not talked a whole lot about outside the country from what I've seen and heard but Canada is a country of monopolies. A handful of companies own nearly everything, every province has a family or two that owns a hell of a lot (Nova Scotia is basically owned by one family at this point), and our government ignores it. Even the branch that is supposed to be against monopolies is fine with mergers and takeovers in most cases.
Because, you know, the company said it totally wouldn't use consumers' lack of options to increase prices.
#canada#so much of our infrastructure and critical construction such as housing#has been pawned off for decades to private companies#and i forgot to mention one (1) family owns the bridge that is a major international corridor between canada and the us#which is apparently fine even though they fought tooth and nail to stop a bridge they don't own from being built#like our housing crisis can be traced back to the government deciding to stop building public housing in the 90s#because they figured private developers would pick up the slack#affordable apartments don't bring in much money so we got decades of cheap-ass 'luxury condos' instead#and once airbnb became a thing we got entire buildings with units <300sqft#and of course when the party in charge rotates between conservatives and neolibs nothing changes and that can gets kicked down the road#and keeps getting kicked until something collapses and they see the chance to fully privatize an industry#something similar is happening to our healthcare system too#it has been left to languish for years/decades with funding freezes and cuts#and private companies are quick to jump in and get the government stamp of approval to do [thing] that the public system clearly can't do#when [thing] would absolutely be possible if it was actually funded and/or staffed#so many communities were cut off when greyhound closed up shop because there's no government inter-city transportation#we lost internet/banking/cell service/etc nation-wide because one of the big three decided to push an update to live without redundancies#and it bugged and took the entire company's network down#even the government agency that demands major companies have a backup on a different network was taken down because they ignored that#and they got a deal if they kept their backup with rogers while their main network was also rogers#so they couldn't even make an emergency statement or anything about it#half my province also lost all digital infrastructure because it's a private company and making a redundancy line would mean smaller bonuse#it's just so bad#joke all you want about how canada is nice and friendly#but you are wrong and it's hell if you actually live here#the only reason canada is seen as nice is because it's hard to not seem like the better option when the us is your neighbour#and because of decades of pr work to make canada seem friendly and nice and not at all problematic#in some countries you actually have to try to hide you're canadian because of how much we colonize and the damage we do to other countries#yes these tags have derailed from the post but ugh#i take major issue with people who insist canada is nice and has never done anything wrong

THAT'S ALL#I'm sure when i am reunited with my other dishes i will languish in bed staring at this psyching myself up to the task#but i like keeping random jars from food i bought and dishes that i picked up in different places.#they physically remind me of everywhere I've been and sometimes i just look at them and remember where I've been#my favorite is the old ratatouille jar i bought at carrefour in Chengdu#that jarred ratatouille was the nastiest food to grace this earth#i bought it in case it would make a quick easy meal (you don't really find those at the grocery store in China at least not back then)#but even my cheap lazy self couldn't eat it#so no one ever consumed that ratatouille but the jar was pretty big so i put other stuff in it and now it's my dish#and somehow the label is glued on PERMANENTLY it has never washed off after all these years#actually idk maybe it eventually did it isn't here for me to look at but it lasted a long time i know that

Brings me immense joy to see the Classicvania renaissance happening lately. So much fresh love for the old games, their stories and characters pouring in and despite having moved on to the Souls fandoms myself, I just want to say how glad I am that more people are seeing the beauty of the classic CV games at last ✨️
#sin speaking#(hi i am alive. just about. its autumn at last...)#(i will always have a soft spot for cv and the games. i left the fandom largely bc it was so intolerable as a space due to SOMETHING!!!!)#(but seeing the collective wake-up and newfound love for one of my favourite franchises has made me and my friends so immensely happy.)#(fun fact! i actually only got into Souls games bc a friend of mine kept lamenting [lol] over their desire for a bloodborne style cv game)#(then i played bb myself and a) i agree. i would sacrifice multiple of my organs on the altar for a quirky soulslike cv game lmao)#(and b) that was the beginning of my downward spiral into yharnam and i have yet to ever leave. funny how the dominos fall like that)#(ive been artblocked as all HELL just lately regrettably. very low mood. very low in esteem. very moderately down in the dumps as it were.)#(but seeing all the traction on my old cv art makes me smile. and also cringe bc oof it looks so bad to me now 😂😂😂)#(But that being said i would love to redraw some of it. its vampire season why not. maybe some cv x bb crossovers would be fun too.......)#(anyway hi ive been languishing playing lotf and praying for lop news soon hows your september doing)#(i dont go there but that dbd collab has done wonders for classicvania. imagine how shaken i was to see hd 3d trevor models in 2024. unreal)#(me from 4 years ago would have been OBNOXIOUS about it.)

(re: reblog tags on the nimona post) so. i went back and found the boy. the lad. my editing white whale. the trajectory went like this: friends and i had been talking in a groupchat about idris elba being cast as knuckles circa 2021 and the subsequent quick resurgence of people outright admitting they’d sick nasty bang a fictional echidna if they could, so i made this edit in response to that line of conversation:
admittedly. this was my first mistake. i then expanded on it (second mistake) by editing knuckles into a pre-existing animal crossing meme (it had been a callback to a previous conversation in the chat)
(i think i acc submitted the compressed version to this blog once ive put it below for continuity reasons but cannae remember for sure ANYWAY)
so then a friend in this chat says ‘eurgh hate how this looks like that one rayman 3 advert’ and i go ‘…bwah?’ find the ad, laugh my ass off, rush to my editing software and produce THIS monstrosity in a blackout fugue state. it’s the most unsustainable edit ive ever made so glad for it to see the light of day even once more as it likely never will again. i gave him the froggy footstool bc he was too manlet to reach the urinal comfortably and i thought it was better than making him huge or stretched out so! w/o further ado i present: ✨knuckles_pissing_shortly.jpeg✨
sorry.
I'll be honest my takeaway from all this is that you're too funny for this website and also that you should probably become an author
#jokes aside this one has kinda been languishing in my inbox for a while because I hadn't a clue what to do with it#but you know what#public release#what's the worst that could happen#not a pic#someone asked me a thing!#OH ALSO I'm pretty sure I already knew this about you but [points sagely] that's the neurodivergent anectodal ramble I know it when I see i#[spider-man voice] You're like me...

tom's straightguysona was constructed by looking to the emphasis of exclusive heterosexuality without necessarily macho masculinity in 40s-modern middle america as well as academia, particularly the excusable effeminacy granted to men in the upper classes due to it simply being a mark of man being civilized, which is perfectly fine so long as you openly lament the loss of true masculinity. and greg's straightguysona was constructed by listening to weezer in middle and high school
#tom wambsgans#greg hirsch#tomgreg#do NOT take this as an admonishment of weezer either they're def one of my fav bands#i just think that greg has lowkey weezer masculinity whenever he does attempt to perform it#like i imagine him languishing over pink triangle in hs as an excuse for having no gf#like 'oh what a tragedy every girl i like is a lesbian'#and then later he realizes that he was purposefully having crushes on unattainable girls bc it was safe#anyway back to tom. i've been reading this book called Gay New York and it's gay history from 1890 to 1940#and it's got a lot of insights on how homosexuality and gender were constructed specifically through class#and how that intersects#fun example is that middle class men - as opposed to working and high class men - are the least likely to tolerate homosexuality#BUT middle class men who ARE gay are more likely than working and high class gays to be versatile#like both in the sense of top and bottom and also in just accepting both the masculine and feminine in yourself rather than going hard in#either direction#mine#gay tom#gay greg

😘 (( Abigail kissing Hannibal on the cheek? Probably to mess with him, but well, I think that she's the affectionate type of daughter too xD ))
It’s international kissing day! Send 😘 to kiss my muse.
@collidingxworlds / & Abigail
After a relatively calm evening, Hannibal was cleaning the kitchen with Abigail's assistance. The cutlery and fine china carefully washed, dried and put in its rightful place, the girl announced that she was heading off to bed, and Hannibal wished her goodnight.
He had not been expecting this soft display of affection from his adopted daughter. A wry smile curved his lips, studying her curiously.
"The dessert must have been quite impressive tonight."
#apologies this has been languishing in my inbox with so many things T_T#but no pressure to reply! we can keep it as a one shot thingy if you'd prefer <3#hannibal ; murder family v#& collidingxworlds & imprvdente ; picture perfect family

#bellum x linebeck tag ramblings im not making this an actual post i just wanna throw some ideas around bc its still abstract n all that#cuz its not like. just romantic? like im not gonna sit down and treat it like some conventional relationship tho sometimes it is#like i sit down and not a single au/bit of post ph are they actually just. dating. they generally just have Something going on#like in ph. off the bat. i think when linebeck learns about bellum he starts to research him- checks libraries and personal collections#and hounding oshus and the spirits and trying to scrape together every little bit lf information he can find#at first its to quell his fear and maybe find tips he can pass on to link but once he digs deeper he just starts doing it out of curiosity#so theres just a mutual. they really want to know more about each other- linebeck doesnt just stop at researching bellum as an enemy#and bellum doesnt just stop at ‘researching’ linebeck as an enemy and someone to take advantage of#before they meet they have already gone a little farther than necessary into finding info on each other so they. have that mutual interest#and neither of them are too familiar with that i mean linebeck gets link but hes just used to limiting what people know about him#and bellum is used to just being a demonic enemy in need of eradicating (justified tho) whose other traits have been lost to time#like i imagine that long long ago bellum was worshipped as a like. god of war deity of survival against the odds that sort of thing#but the more positive aspects were left to languish when he decided to take the easy and simple way out and towards power and survival#but thats Bellum Lore that i need to add to That Post bc i don think its on there lmao#ok but. specifically in the crimson king au. theres this whole thing bellum eats people he has linebeck bring back limbs and stuff for him#but like some nights they make dinner i (linebeck is. not going to eat human meat. probably)#and while bellum prepares whatever dead guy linebeck brings him linebeck usually brings over a fresh squid#i feel like there’s something there. in other aus bellum ends up being intensely protective of linebeck due to them being reliant on each#other and bellum has known linebeck for a while. in some hes just like. his boss? the space au one is fun thats a fun dynamic#space au is probably the current au where theres the least romantic w/e between them but its still weird#anyways. but like in post ph its that sort of curiosity about each other that drives them to be kind to each other and. civil#theres some recognition they kind of see themselves in each other they understand how they think to a certain degree#bellum is possessive (heh. heheh) of linebeck very quickly partially to be able to keep. well. studying him and eventually bc of liking him#like on a level bellum is kind of just this violent animal that linebeck studies and finds ways to sustain and take care of but bellum#also knows linebeck incredibly intimately so while empathy is generally not there he can talk about very personal stuff to bellum and.#and vice versa a bit! its weird. like bellum has done heinous shit but linebeck kinda just. cares about the present and the future#it kinda ties into my idea that linebeck would rather not touch the past much like he keeps it in mind but moves forward no matter what#so he keeps his eyes forward with bellum and while initially distrustful and keeping him on a short leash just like. gives him some grace#this might be tag limit but like. yknow? im getting there but i might stick to just being loose with it bc it works#salty talks

I think its genuinely fascinating how Biden has somehow become the bad vibes sin eater for the party. I'm seeing people who were doing the whole "voting doesn't matter both old men are the same" pivot hard into voting as harm reduction. The anti voting rhetoric has COMPLETELY lost The Youths on tiktok. People suddenly remember the good things the Biden administration has done but don't associate Harris with any of the things they didn't like. In my swing state volunteers are signing up in droves. People feel ENERGIZED, the vibe shift pre and post Biden dropping from the race has just been insane
Y'know, that is a... good way of putting it. It's also why I'm quite sure that Biden has probably been planning it for a while. I don't think he was intending to step down, and didn't want to be forced out at the drop of a hat, but after he realized that the circus was never going to stop until he did, he did the honorable fall-on-his-own-sword thing and definitely, DEFINITELY spent some time choreographing this behind the scenes. Because while the roll-out has been very smooth, it could just as easily (as many of us were expecting) have been a total disaster, and that doesn't happen without SOME planning. It's also entirely possible that the campaign staff flipped from Biden to Harris are superhuman, to come up with a massive online roll-out, new branding, new signs (they had plenty of 'em in Wisconsin yesterday), new everything, but I'm guessing it's a combination of both. Biden has spent his entire political career being underestimated, and after we literally made a meme out of Dark Brandon juking the Republicans out of their shoes, we should definitely give credit where credit is due in how masterfully he pulled it off.
Because we have had eight years defined by the central question of Whether The President Is a God King Who Should Serve For Life (the MAGAts obviously think yes), the sheer idea of a president willingly giving up his power BEFORE he had to is also novel and admirable. It's sad that this is the case, but so be it. The Republicans also got a heaping helping of Be Careful What You Wish For that was undoubtedly brilliant; they've been yelling for years that Biden is old and frail and can't serve and should step down. Biden went "lol okay" and gave it to them, and now they're fucked.
Aside from that, on the most basic level, it's far, far easier to see the actual difference in the parties with Harris as the nominee, just because it shows that one party is willing to make progress and reflect the new demographic reality and social mores of America, and the other one is not. Now to be clear, Biden deserves an incredible amount of credit for coming out of retirement (he was ALREADY 77 years old when he became president and had had decades of a long and respected career in public service behind him) to fight, beat Trump, and deliver an incredibly successful presidency. He held the line against authoritarianism at home and abroad, he rescued the trashed American economy and managed a world-leading recovery from Covid, he stood up for democracy, he spent four years filling the benches with liberal judges to reverse even some of the Trump/McConnell hack job, he finally passed comprehensive infrastructure investment and the Green New Deal under the name of the Inflation Reduction Act -- and so on. Many of these priorities had been languishing for decades or were completely trashed under Trump, and he could not have done so much in just 4 years without all that age, skill, and experience. Hence why all the Ageism!!! was (aside from being a Republican/media smear job) dumb. He's able to do the job because he has had decades to study. Turns out that makes you actually pretty damn good at it.
Yes, Biden could not do as much as he wanted or originally planned, had to deal with MAGA Republicans and Joe Manchin/Kyrsten Sinema sabotaging him the whole time (lololol Manchin, possible possessor of the World's Biggest Ego and with Trump around that's saying something, popping out of obscurity to self-righteously announce he would not be willing to be Kamala's VP. YEAH ASSHOLE. LITERALLY NOBODY ASKED YOU. NOBODY WHATSOEVER. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AT LEAST WE WILL SOON NO LONGER HAVE MANCHIN IN THE SENATE). And yes, Biden made some serious mistakes of his own, because he IS from an older generation and a different style of doing politics/different beliefs that no longer resonate with the younger segments of the electorate. But this old white Catholic guy at the age of almost 80 still managed to be the most progressive president ever, coming in at a moment of incredible domestic and international crisis and getting us safely to the other side, and all cynicism, criticizing, and caveating aside, he deserves an incredible amount of credit for that. I mean that absolutely, and I am very grateful.
As I said, willingly relinquishing that power takes guts, and when Biden saw the writing on the wall that he had to sacrifice himself, he took his time, he didn't jump too early, and he didn't jump too late. On the most basic level, it becomes a hell of a lot easier to make the "both parties are not the same" argument when one is running a (comparatively) young brown woman and the other is still running their loathed felonious old demented orange traitor. Most Americans are not plugged into policy minutiae and details. They look at Biden-Trump, they see two old white guys. When you take one of those old white guys away (who goes in a self-sacrificially heroic manner and in sharp contrast with the coup-happy fascist) and put Kamala Harris in there instead, it generates an obvious jolt. People can see for themselves that there is a real difference that doesn't rely on closely reading news and tracking complex policy, because as noted, most Americans simply don't. The brown first-generation American daughter of brown immigrants is a quantifiably different story from "old white guy career politician," which for better or worse is how Biden was seen, especially the old part. We needed that establishment expertise to beat Trump in 2020; I still think Biden is the only one who could have done it, and as noted, we owe him a great debt for doing so.
However.... 2024 is not 2020, and it is not 2016. There has been this HUGE and unbelievable swing to Kamala because she represents the antithesis of what the last eight years of Trump-induced anger, fear, panic, chaos, and hatred has stirred up. That's why people are so ready to rally around her, just as they were (I daresay) around Obama in 2008, after the exhaustion, chaos, war, and mounting economic misery of Bush. Trump has been out of office for the last four years, but his shadow over the American political landscape has been omnipresent. Now people know that we finally have a real chance at getting rid of him forever, and just as Biden was uniquely positioned to capitalize on that in 2020, so Harris is now. Which is why, however tough it will be, she has a real shot at winning. I can guarantee the Republicans know that, and are shit scared. Because the Black Lady Army of Democracy has indeed arrived in force to Get This Shit Done and I don't know about you, but I found that incalculably comforting:
Yikes! All lined up for Kamala pic.twitter.com/Dt4OCDp7WX
— Alex Cole (@acnewsitics) July 24, 2024
This, at the most basic level, is what scares fascists the most, it's exactly what we need now, and what Harris is uniquely positioned to mobilize, along with her gangbusters appeal to young voters:
This is the energy we need. This is what Biden saw and planned for and which he launched us into, and where all that experience and age paid off. This is why people, even people otherwise disengaged, disillusioned, or checked out of the tedious and mind-numbering drudgery and depression of American politics, are responding to it. Because it's easy to understand, it offers hope, and it tells a very simple story that is nonetheless long overdue:
Thanks so much, Joe. Go absolutely waste that orange fucker, Kamala. We got your back.
