Simran and Raj have ofc Tujhe Dekha To (it is teased SO much before the actual song it’s such a good like musical storytelling device that when you get to the actual song it’s like OHHH MY GOD)

But all the songs are more than just songs they each are purposeful to the story and affect more than just the character the song is about and I’m ripping out my hair at how fucking…how fucking GOOD that is

I love Deadpool and Wolverine for all the normal reasons, but one thing that im obsessed with is that now a whole bunch of people are watching the X-Men movies for the first time because of it. The thing is that, so many years later, its an enitrely new generation and demographic watching those films, and seeing the completely different point of views on Hugh Jackman's Wolverine from a 2000 target audience and now an audiance from 2024 is fucking hysterical.

Wolverine was fucking peak masculinity and one of the only superhero characters in a well-received high budget movie at the time, a really serious character in a really fucking serious film that removed all the comicbook campiness and whimsy to desperately avoid bombing at the box office in lue of Batman Forever's release. Like there is legit no room to question how fucking sick they make him in X-Men.

And now we are watching these movies again in 2024 and the general consensus is that he's just a silly little guy with kitty hair and making shitty girly Wolverine edits is hilarious.

I think if you made a comment about Wolverine having kitty ears in 2000 it would get you socially outcasted, now it gets you over 2k comments on tiktok agreeing with you.

have yall have seen the cinematic trailers for mc updates? steve literally has a completely different personality. steve is just a silly lil guy. hes just a curious dude who loves building and exploring! hes not jack black, or a wackjob who went crazy from being isolated for too long. he loves and parktakes happily in the world hes in.

i know we only saw one real scene, but i can already tell that jack black is not going to be playing steve minecraft, he is just going to be playing jack black. its so intensely disappointing when they had the opportunity to employ a new actor to bring to light like. imo steve minecraft should have been cast as just an average looking guy. just some random dude. BC THATS LITERALLY WHAT HE IS.

this is just my opinion but i think any good media needs obsession behind it. it needs passion, the kind of passion that's no longer "gentle scented candle" and is now "oh shit the house caught on fire". it needs a creator that's biting the floorboards and gnawing the story off their skin. creators are supposed to be wild animals. they are supposed to want to tell a story with the ferocity of eating a good stone fruit while standing over the sink. the same protective, strange instinct as being 7 and making mud potions in pink teacups: you gotta get weird with it.

good media needs unhinged, googling-at-midnight kind of energy. it needs "what kind of seams are invented on this planet" energy and "im just gonna trust the audience to roll with me about this" energy. it needs one person (at least) screaming into the void with so much drive and energy that it forces the story to be real.

sometimes people are baffled when fanfic has some stunning jaw-dropping tattoo-it-on-you lines. and i'm like - well, i don't go here, but that makes sense to me. of fucking course people who have this amount of passion are going to create something good. they moved from a place of genuine love and enjoyment.

so yeah, duh! saturday cartoons have banger lines. random street art is sometimes the most precious heart-wrenching shit you've ever seen. someone singing on tiktok ends up creating your next favorite song. youtubers are giving us 5 hours of carefully researched content. all of this is the impossible equation to latestage capitalism. like, you can't force something to be good. AI cannot make it good. no amount of focus-group testing or market research. what makes a story worth listening to is that someone cares so much about telling it - through dance, art, music, whatever it takes - that they are just a little unhinged about it.

one time my friend told me he stayed up all night researching how many ways there are to peel an orange. he wrote me a poem that made me cry on public transportation. the love came through it like pith, you know? the words all came apart in my hands. it tasted like breakfast.

i love the…. almost horror aspects of this album. all the references to ghosts and death…. and sonically, the unexpected shrieking in WAOLOM and the banging and screaming during “old habits die screaming” and even the way the tension subtly builds across the sixteen tracks and by the end you’re so stressed and shaken it’s like! losing your sense of self and feeling like you’ve become a monster is horror. and i’m sooooo glad she leaned into it
