At what seems to be the end of the world, he holds a quiet but mighty gesture to mend something they wouldn't have had time to mend with words.

He holds out his hand.

initially, Macaque hesitates to take it. But he reaches for it. (don't worry about the overlay guys ahah)

Then, Wukong welcomes him with a reassuring smile.

I just think there's such a level of deepness to this exchange. Wukong is choosing to live what he believed to be his final moments hand in hand with Macaque.

He's not allowing fear to consume him, not allowing it to continue to drive him away from Macaque.

It almost feels like an apology, to make up for what had hurt their bond so much before.
