cannot comprehend Bruce Wayne being romantically involved with anybody. He's already insecure enough about being a father, you think he'd be able to handle romance? You think he wouldn't avoid it like the plague? That guy is too tired to have rizz. People might think to try and flirt with him at banquets if he weren't falling asleep in his mashed potatoes because Tim kept trying to sneak out for extra patrol time last night. The only shape he has is the Bachelor Dad shape. He's so awkward and emotionally constipated it's a miracle the general public somehow still finds him charming. His priorities are 1) his kids 2) crime fighting 3) alfred's lasagna nights. He'd rather throw himself off a cliff than give Dick and Jason another thing to rib him about. His kids snuggle with him so much he'd give anything to have a single night to sleep alone.

I think the most beautiful thing about writing of Howl and Sophie's pair is that they are written as people before being written as a pair. Let me explain this very quick.

The thing about book Sophie and Howl is that they are not really fully fitting into any "classic" romantic trope. They are not exactly enemies to lovers, as their angry chats are definitely cannot be considered a life or death battle, they are not rivals to lovers because the only aspect of rivalry between them is the cleaningness of Howl's room. They are not friends to lovers, as their relationship just doesn't fit into "friendship" structure at the very start, nor they are roomates (yes, they live in the same house but that's not the core aspect of their relationships). Of course, you can go on and fit the name of the trope you found specifically for them, but that's the thing.

They simply cannot be processed through a pairings lenses only, in order to understand how they act in relationship you need to analyse them separately, as a characters first of all. Cause that's what the book itself does!

Sure, it doesn't have a whole lot of romance instead, but it gives us time to learn and observe the life of incredibly written, alive characters, understand them as personalities first of all, while slowly immersing the dynamic between two characters (in this case, Howl and Sophie) into work. They are written as personalities, both being fully separated and interviewing, changing eachother's point of view.

It's difficult to find a trope for them. They're are not a trope. They are Howl and Sophie, and that's probably the only way their dynamic can be properly described. Just as real people, they are not really fitting into the boxes of linial character progression, but go way deeper into being complex, filled with little differences and moments only people with their personality can have in romantic (or any different) kind of interaction. They're imperfect, and silly, and multidimensional and the reader knows them well enough to imagine them interacting way beyond of what the book says to them.

They are being people before being a ship, a pair of a trope — and that's why they work so perfectly charming in the end.

Howl and Sophie are unique in being themselves.

Me trying to figure out when cait betrayed vi, but if they mean cait turned her back on vi after she felt betrayed and felt her tether snap then yes.

And the way people continue to talk about caitlyn "suddenly turning" against ambessa. Her morals were always there. Those never wavered, her actions just didn't always align. Idk how many more times they needed to sprinkle it in there for yall to understand. Or how much more obvious they needed to make ambessa for yall to understand.

Caitlyn can be held accountable but the way people act like she went full on zaun hating pro piltover or some shit when that never was the case.

Also to address the fact that this person is complaining about the way they meet up in episode 6. For them both it has been a while, how long idk, but we see that in episode 4 that Cait is talking about the passing of time. She "didn't think it would go on this long."

I think the way they meet was the only way, without caitlyn having captured/killed jinx beforehand. And yes we get their quips, that people are so rubbed the wrong way about, but even after their disagreement during the memorial in episode 1, vi tries to smooth it over with some little awkward talk. Like that's just how she is? Plus it's clear caitlyn is hyper vigilant, she's not the only one in the cliffs, as we literally see rictus. Plus when caitlyn first attacks vi she obviously doesn't know it's vi. In case people didn't at least grasp the bare minimum of that

Thinking about how much I love the voyeuristic nature of the vampire chronicles and how much it adds to the experience of reading them. Especially in the books which are supposed to be one character literally sitting down with another and telling them their life story (iwtv, tva, etc) it creates these strange sort of immersion breaking moments where you're reading descriptions of horrific assault or bodily functions or even just smth cringe and embarrassing the interviewee did and it takes you out for a minute bc ur like wait hold on Daniel/David/whoever is just sitting here listening to this? Louis why are you giving so much graphic detail u didn't have to say all that?? And in that moment you ARE interviewing the vampire, you're feeling and thinking exactly what Daniel probably is in that moment and so by briefly pulling you out of the story you end up going back in even more immersed than you were before

And from the other side sometimes in very intense scenes the opposite happens, where the first person pov makes you feel like you ARE Lestat fighting the wolves, or Armand exploring renaissance Venice for the first time or whatever, and idk for me I think that's a big part of what makes these books so compelling, it's that combination of unfiltered sincerity and intimacy and lack of pretension and the way they sort of just open their arms and pull you in like a lover or smth

stoic illiterate unwilling assassin deeply in love with unfailingly kind rich sad gay man almost stabs his crush's brother because the brother cares so much and so genuinely for the gay man that he searched assassin's room out of worry and found knives and a mysterious letter before being interrupted by the assassin who then does not want to show him the letter which seems incredibly suspicious, only for a later scene (after the gay man interrupts them and thus stops any escalation from happening) to quietly reveal that the very sus letter in possession of this illiterate assassin is not in fact a sign he's lying about being illiterate.... it's just two pages of him practicing the gay man's name over and over in neatly spaced lines...... a reveal which he was going to STAB a man over because he doesn't know that the gay man's brother knows the man is gay and loves him with his whole heart and would never ever do anything to hurt him........ i will never get over this, how could i ever get over this, everything else ever is going to be downhill from here
