this might sounds like im throwing shades, but im not. im jsut comparing stuffs that i knew of. im sorry before hand if this offends anyone, it was not my intention.

okay, now i know why ffxiv is righfully crowned the best story mmorpg ever had looking at gw2 story development in and out of game is a fricking mess. idk if im looking forward for the story (gameplay still super banger tho, i prefer this over xiv outside of instanced duties) the more i look about this, the more diheartened i became. found out that a lot of HoT story is scrapped and i heard writers got laid off? 

in xiv they take lore seriously. even across different writers. its almost like they treat it sacredly and checks with each other for cohesive narration. even the ‘weakest’ story that is stormblood, its still masterfully done. makes me kinda hope for gw2 to not have 'main story' at all. because the pieces of 'small stories' during events is entertaining enough and those are great.

idk i feel like im disrespecting gw2 writers, but i really dont want to get my hopes high and got trahearne ending’s treatment again... i cant even enjoy eir’s death because theres no build up, i just feel nothing. which is sad because shes my favorite of destiny’s edge. 

i dont mind someone more knowledgeable in this or been here for awhile to give me more context. what the hell happened during development??

am i going crazy or did anyone else notice that in S3E9 of tua it's insinuated that klaus and sparrow ben did the shabangbang? i swear to god i never picked up on it before but in my most recent rewatch i was like "okay... they wake up after a drunken night that neither of them can remember.. both shirtless.. sprawled out on the floor and on the pool table.. klaus is in his undies.. he also says something about ben opening up his 'kimono' to him..." AND later in the episode luther asks five if ben hooked up with anyone and five just smirks and doesn't answer. not to mention ben and klaus were cuddling when all of the siblings were outside after luther and sloane's wedding. y'all i swear im not crazy, watch the scene where they wake up the next morning and tell me there isn't some kind of tension there. tbh it's probably some more queerbaiting weird sibling sh!t that the writers are pulling cause let's be honest i do not put that past them. it just caught me so off guard and i haven't seen anyone on here mention it so far.

calling it bad writing when you dont get your way is some of the most childish shit ever to me tbh. like he was never supposed to be more than he was. neither was their relationship. the writers always meant for it to be temporary and that shows from their very first episode. his actor getting bitter in an interview because he lost his paycheck and your hurt feelings (which to be fair, it is valid to be upset your ship broke up i wont deny this) over grandiose expectations you made up in your own mind dont change that.

the story you wanted isnt what the writers wanted or ever planned to tell.

Writers notes: I normally don't put tw but Ik this isnt gonna be everyone's cup of tea, but uhhh: period sex is happening.

Vlad pulls you onto his lap as you are walking by. He starts to kiss your neck, but you try to wiggle out of his grip.

"Noo," you tilt your head to the side to try to push him away. "Not right now."

He loosens his grip on you and plays with your hair. "What's wrong?"

You wiggle out of his arms and lay behind him on the bed. "I'm gross."

"What?" He turns around, kneeling beside you. "What would make you say that?" he goes to feel your forehead to see if you're sick.

You look away from him and turn on your side. Suddenly Vlad realizes what's going on and leans closer to you. "Oh I get it."

"Yeah. I'm gross," you pout.

He chuckles and rolls you onto your back. "Nothing about you could ever be gross," you continue to pout. "But I think you also forget who you are talking to."

He leans down and kisses you on the lips. Even though you kiss him back, you whine.

"Vlaaaad."

"Yes my love?" he looks at you with so much love in his eyes.

"I'm gross," you just repeat yourself, looking away from him.

"I would like to think of you as a whole meal," he purrs in your ear before kissing you.

That's when you get it. Your eyes widen.

"N-no. I'm not letting you do that. That is way too embarrassing," but your cheeks blush at the thought.

"Embarrassing? Says who?"

To be fair. You have heard that it sounds amazing on your period. But it'll be a mess! But he is a vampire, one who can't even drink from you without turning you.

"It's the one way I can taste you," he kisses you again. You let out a soft moan.

Vlad smirks and sits up, moving down on you.

"V-Vlad. N-no," you squeeze your legs together.

"Say that louder if you mean it," but all you do is press your lips together. You do want to know what it's like, and he is a vampire after all. "That's what I thought," he chuckles and gets the lower half of your clothes off.

"It.. it's going to make a mess," you try to push yourself again, but you don't try very hard. It's not that you are trying to be a tease. You want to know what it's like, but embarrassment is taking over.

"Trust me. It won't," he smirks and tosses your clothes to the side. Your legs close immediately, worried about blood getting on the bed.

Vlad spreads your legs open, his tongue immediately licking at you with a moan. When he looks up at you, your face is bright red.

His hands wrap under your thighs to get your legs over his shoulders, and reaches around to grab your hips.

You bite your lip trying to keep quiet. Suddenly his grip tightens on you and he rolls the two of you over. Vlad is on his back and you are forced to sit up on his face.

"Vlad!" You scream, not expecting it. Then you have the awful feeling of more blood coming out of you. It sends a shiver down your spine. Vlad just licks it up.

"Ahh!" His tongue makes you squirm. You hold one hand out in front of you against the headboard of the bed, while another combs through his hair.

You look down to see his bright red eyes looking up at you. Your face is flushed. He moans into you as his tongue makes his way into you.

You moan louder. "V-Vlad!"

You get overstimulated quickly. His tongue licks every surface of your walls, wanting to taste you as much as possible. You think you can feel his fangs poking at you.

"I-I'm not kissing you after t-this," you keep moaning and tug his hair.

He grips you harder and tries to bring you down further into his mouth. His tongue leaves and comes back, lapping up all the blood it can.

Vlad moans like he's having a good meal. He's wishing he would have had this idea sooner. In the past you have always tried to stay away from him while you're on your period.

The idea that he could smell the blood was embarrassing..you thought the smell would make him want to bite you so you wanted to make it easy on him. You never thought he would be so eager to eat you out like this.

Even after cleaning you of the blood he could get, his tongue still flickered inside you as if it's trying to reach more.

You tug his hair more but he keeps you as close as he can. "V-Vlad. Th-that's enough. I-or I'll," moans stop you from finishing your sentence.

He already knows what you're going to say and it doesn't make him stop. You begin to rock your hips against him, begging to feel a release.

His hands reach around and grab your ass, helping you rock yourself more. You look down again, your head resting against your outward arm

"Ahh-hh Vlad!" you feel your eyes roll to the back of your head as you cum on his tongue, followed by a little more blood.

He licks the rest of you up, cleaning you, before letting you fall back onto the bed.

You lay on your back and pant. Vlad sits up and wipes his mouth on the back of his hand.

"I could have never imagined you tasted so good."

"We... We aren't doing it again," you try to shuffle off the bed to grab your clothes.

"What about tomorrow?" he hands you your clothes and looks at you lovingly again.

"You're just so addicting."

You pout a little and know you're going to end up giving in. It felt great. Amazing. He's a vampire you shouldn't be worried about this.

"W-we'll see."

Just me reflecting on Sansa Stark, her Show Character Arc, and how one aspect of the show that I was critical of (some of the later costume design choices for Sansa and what they meant for her character arc and what they indicate about the attitudes of the writers) in turn helped inspire my art...

So I've been working on an art piece on and off since February and it might just be my favorite portrait I've ever done-both for how it turned out and for the inspiration behind it...

Before I started this piece I was dwelling a bit on my dissatisfaction with some of D&D's handling of this character in the later seasons... and soon came about the desire to do a portrait that incorporates the intensity, strength, and resilience of Sansa Stark while still getting to embrace and maintain some of the general softness, feminity, and romanticism that characterized her appearance and personality in the book and earlier seasons of the show...

It always seemed shitty to me that the show felt it had to squash out any traditionally feminine or more girly aspects of her appearance and personality to show that she should be taken seriously as a character

....As though these aspects are some sort of flaw Sansa had surpassed and that erasing her "softer" traits is some powerful cumulation or amazing visual cue for her character arc.... "Look she dresses all in black... she doesn't need or trust anyone...she put away all her childish dreams and hopes...doesn't she finally seem like a real stark....isnt she now so gritty and impressive - isn't this the best sort of ending/arc for Sansa!"

In reality this trope is lazy, over done, and reeks of underlying misogyny (Sansa was hardly the only character to get- or suffer from- this visual treatment in the later seasons of Game of Thronew but I'd argue that for her this choice was distinctly disappointing and had some important consequences/implications for her character arc)

Sansa’s biggest strength should have always remained her ability to maintain her kindness and compassion despite the horrors and mistreatment she experienced... and a satisfying arc should have involved her having the ability to demonstrate both her natural empathy and the burgeoning ability to apply said compassion in a more careful and considered manner which would live up to the values of her parents/family and ensure that the north (after experiencing such immense betrayal chaos and hardship) once again thrives under a just and fair ruler.

So I wanted to make a portrait of that would embody the sort of ending/arc (and be the sort of tribute) I think she deserves... (that the unfinished book series has not provided and that she certainly did not get in the tv series)

Looking at the core of this character and the ways the writing/narrative of the show ultimately let her and the audience down I have the following thoughts...

Sansa is strong enough to face and outlast every villain who targeted her family and tried to manipulate and use her as a child...

....Fierce enough to rally support to reclaim her ancestral home and land

... determined enough to hold Winterfell and the North's independence against any invader that wished to subjugate them...

....who- in a manner deserving far more praise than it gets-kept her integrity compassion even when at her most powerless and vulnerable...

... whose love of stories and songs or even beautiful dresses is not something that deserved erasure or ridicule

...who had hopes and dreams about family, marriage, motherhood, and being reunited with her siblings that despite how hard life - and the showrunners- tried to stomp out of her actually deserved to evolve into something grounded and real ... (fulfilled in winterfell with a worthy partner rather than being abandoned entirely as she is left isolated in the north without any of her surviving kin).

The sort of ending I want for the QITN is one celebrating her survival, her resilience, and strength of character... as well as rejoicing and still embracing who she is as a person... including her more traditional and feminin interests/hobbies/appearance, her hopes and dreams for her future and family, and her inherently compassionate nature (which is a strength all on its own).

Ned Stark's daughter, the blood of Winterfell, who will rule the north with the reverent support of her people, with an incredible mix of ferocity in the face of adversity and compassion in the face of need, who will not stand idly by and let vultures pick away at her remaining family, (or fall for any of the bullshit spewed out from an invading conquerer and their yes men advisors)...

...all the while she should still get to eat lemoncakes, sew, listen to stories, sing songs, experience love and family with her siblings and one day through her marriage and children, while she still gets to wear whatever fucking beautiful dress she wants 💙

And while this portrait may not cover every aspect of her ending that I hope she gets in the books and wished she got in the show- i'll save those aspects for my other sansa (or jonsa) centric art pieces- I am satisfied that it managed to captured some of her determination and strength while also presenting her in a way that does not judge or erase her more feminine characteristics.

Now For anyone who decided to read through my very rambly thoughts thank you and have a little glimpse at what the ongoing process has been like for this portrait as a treat...

i noticed all the comments from the other person are now gone, which means nobody can read them at all and it isnt fair for you to just say things and not even let others see what they had said. unfortunately i think im going to be unfollowing you because i cannot support someone who acts like that. not allowing others to speak is censoring their freedom of speach and their opinion. youre a good writer but i simply cannot agree with what youre doing.

i can’t say that i’m sad to see you go because you did send this anonymously, but i can say that this person has been annoying me all day and i have the right to block people when they said they don’t like reading fics with “x black readers” when that is my whole entire brand. i did us both a favor by blocking them so that they don’t have to see my works that should’ve been blocked in the first place. ik you’re probably late to the party so you’re only seeing my responses, but they did get the chance to respond and we didn’t see eye to eye. this isn't about "winning", I simply responded to their request and they kept on pushing.

I post pictures under the cut of the things I commented back on. I wish I could say I don't care but this is my personality we are talking about. I always let people explain themselves, but it doesn't mean I have to agree.

im sure everyone’s seen the argument by non-wincest shippers that canon weirdcest moments can be explained off as particularly close brothers. i’ve seen wincesties respond by straight up denying it, but honestly, i see where they’re coming from. they do TECHNICALLY have a point, yet still, it fundamentally doesnt sit well with me.

if you isolate all of these little incidents they could be perceived as purely brotherly. its got me thinking about what exactly makes wincest so appealing, and why i as a wincest shipper immediately have an exasperated reaction to people insisting that sam&dean are purely platonic.

i also see this argument frequently bundled with the stance that “weirdcest isn’t a justification for shipping wincest” (which is a whole other can of worms altogether— the puritan culture of ship culture rn), but you gotta take a step back and just ask yourself… why am i so intent on seeing these characters as platonic?

the prevailing argument ive seen is that siblings CAN be terribly close without being incestuous. this is totally fair. i’m not saying that if you are particularly close with your siblings in a sam & dean type manner that you are incestuous. obviously relationships between family is vastly complex & changes with the culture you grew up in.

the only problem here is that people try to go so far to explain sam&dean’s relationship as to not paint it as romantic. if they weren’t related, it’d be insane to think they weren’t romantic. they are consistently and repeatedly put in situations and exchange dialogue that’s used to convey romantic tone in western media. my point here being— the writers know that they are doing. and they are doing it INTENTIONALLY.

yes, certain cultures find extensive physical touch and kisses between siblings platonically acceptable. yes, you can be very close to your siblings without wanting to fuck them. but that is such a reach given what you are being presented with. you are missing the fundamental thematic point of supernatural: family horror!!

by so steadfastly arguing that sam&dean cannot be read as romantic you are purposefully ignoring the the text. you are glossing over the repeating themes of generational trauma and incest that are touched on time and time again, with john’s father abandoning him, mary’s parents being hunters, the struggle she went through to get out of the life but how family trauma & the past permeates itself into your being. you are ignoring the benders, the ghost pregnant with her fathers child, and the time azazel KISSED MARY in HER FATHERS BODY.

supernatural pushes incestuous themes SO HARD. it purposefully plays with & explores the double-sided blade that is family. it touches on a REALLY TABOO subject without being overwhelming or heavy handed. of course its going to attract people who enjoy these themes. OF COURSE we’re going to look at the two homoerotic brother leads and see something between them! it’s intentionally placed in the script! its a valid reading of the text!

this is why i get frustrated when people say that wincest shippers are twisting canon for the sake of shipping, because we’re not. when people say this they are taking a piece of media that is intriguing in how it handles a socially unacknowledged part of the human experience and forcing their viewing of it on others. they are saying that you aren’t allowed to enjoy those themes because it is inherently wrong or shameful to EXPLORE THE TOPIC. i dunno. that sounds pretty authoritarian to me.

it’s totally fine to be grossed out by incest or avoid wincest because it makes you uncomfortable. what ISNT okay is to say its an exaggerated reaction to canon, because it really isnt. in fact, its a pretty normal & sane conclusion to come to after seeing those two. the fact that they aren’t explicitly incestuous might even enhance this idea. it touches on the unspoken secretive nature of family trauma and the complicated, messy reality of crossing boundaries with blood without being cliche or overdramatic.

im going to incite occam’s razor here: yes, they could just be brothers. yes, you can explain it all away as particularly close siblings. yes, you can argue that it isnt explicitly canon. but really, why would you do all that when the show incessantly implies that they’re more? and more importantly, why are you so quick to say that a topic cannot be explored because it’s complicated? is that really the sentiment that we as a society want to hold regarding media?

First meetings from Tango's pov... (I'm not much of a writer but I wanted to try it :3, sorry if its not good...)

Tango wouldnt say he was oblivious, sure he sometimes missed some important gossip and some PR announcements but to be fair his work is the car. He couldn't care less for some random gossip or stuff from the PR people, his work is making the car better and he is a simple mechanic, no one to be in front of cameras.

Thats why when conversations about a driver move to Williams came up on the racing community, he payed no mind to them. Tango knew some name was circulating around, but again he really didnt care about it, gossip was common and nothing he is interesting in, can some people call him ignorant? That he didnt even noticed news outlets posting about it or watched his team principal's interviews? Yes, some people can call him that, however he still thinks he isnt oblivious, obviously he will know when a driver moves to his team, he isnt dumb.

Even his good friend Impulse, asks him what his opinion about Solidarity's move to Williams, which takes him by surprise bc if he's not mistaken no one at the team knows who will be the new driver and wasnt Solidarity a Redbull driver? That's what he says to Impulse and that honestly even if he knew, his friend is still on a different team. (Impulse looks at him like he doesnt believe it)

Later, much for Impulse amusement, Tango only discovers that Solidarity would race for Williams after a PR colleague says it straight on his face, apparently it was neither speculation nor a secret on the factory.

And the fact he somehow missed multiple times the presence of the driver in the factory, thats stays only between him and his colleague.

Tango wouldnt say he was that oblivious, of course he now knew Jimmy Solidarity was going to race for William's this season, but it still takes him by surprise when the driver approaches him with two cups of coffee.

"Here, you look like you need some" he says extending one cup to him

The mechanic feels a little taken away by the gesture, and doesnt know what to say. He never thought a driver would do this, he must be mistaken and that's not for him. So he just stares in shock to the said driver.

After some time of silence Solidarity slightly gestures to his extended hand and Tango finally gets the memo that yes, it's for him.

Tango takes the cup and takes a sip, unsurprisingly the coffee isnt exactly like he likes but even so it astonish him that it's close enough. "Thanks", he says softly with a small smile to Solidarity, the driver just smiles in return and leaves, probably to analyse some data.

Even as time continues Tango continues stunned with the small random interaction, till Hunter, one of his colleagues who was watching the exchange, tells him that it was very known that Solidarity was really friendly to every team member and since joining the team he had been randomly interacting with everyone.

Tango then concludes that maybe he is a bit oblivious because there's no way he never noticed the driver interacting with is colleagues.

But surely this was gonna be a one time thing, he was a simple mechanic and there was no way the driver truly cared of him.

Little did he know that Jimmy asked around how the pretty blonde mechanic that worked the whole morning liked his coffee.

i might be bias, but outer banks is really not that bad of a show that is meant for teenagers.

outer banks has a lot of its own issues like some inconsistencies in the plot, plot holes, corny dialogue, questionable filming, and some interesting character choices. —which those things might make it seem like the show is horrible. but when compared to some other shows that are meant for teenagers, it is really not that bad.

outer banks shows a lot issues in a way that makes the show progressive. starting with giving their main black lead character a MAJOR arc and plot in season two. which is almost unheard of in shows for teenagers which typically dont use their black characters at all and their only existence is to be the token black character. "oh no! we cant give a major plot and arc to character that isnt a conventionally attractive white man."—is what i imagine a lot of writers of other shows say. (i am not saying pope isnt conventionally attractive. he is a cutie pie! i love pope!!! he is actually my favorite)—compared to supernatural, teen wolf, criminal minds, riverdale, & stranger things

also, the show is not overly sexual. i HATE it when shows are overly sexual; especially when they are about teenagers. like i LOVE outer banks because it is basically just teenagers having fun and treasure hunting with a lot of drama.—compared to euphoria & riverdale

this is a rarity lately, but the writers of the show actually know how teenagers act and talk! what! CRAZY! i mean there is some corny lines in outer banks, but the dialogue is not horrible.—compared to ginny & georgia, riverdale, & mean girls 2

i also really enjoy the show because all of the characters have depth and different family dynamics. pope is actually the only character with good and proactive parents (which also breaks stereotypes). crazy how most shows still actively refuse to break stereotypes when it comes to their poc characters. but not outer banks! their poc characters are not made from stereotypes!

i also like outer banks because i like the take the show has on classism. if you have not noticed, the shows theme is, classism. funny how they portray the rich as bad guys than the poor? again more stereotypes are being broken! the show is like: rich people get away with their crimes and are treated better because they are rich. while poor people are left to suffer and that is not fair!—compared to riverdale

and DONT get me started on how they write their female characters vs the male characters. the only female vs female conflict in the show is between sarah and kie. and they get over that in like three minutes. while the male vs male conflict is never resolved. notice how the men are the overly emotional ones with mood swings? while the females are the ones with level heads and are the more mature ones? sounds like feminism to me! & also sounds like people who know how to write teenage boys & girls!

thank you to the outer banks writers for making a show that is progressive and not using stereotypes when making your characters! us viewers appreciate you!

Fair warning! I am horrible of keeping track of the books I've read so my recs will be a just a bunch of random books I like. @mermaidsirennikita and @triviareads are far more organized in their book recs than I am so you can always check their pages.

The Chief (the entire Highland Guard series actually) by Monica McCarthy. Tor MacLeod is a highland laird very much focused on helping Robert the Bruce with his secret plan to free Scotland from English Rule but his sudden marriage to sweet Tina is distracting him. They're forced to marry after she's found in his bed (her dad blackmailed her into getting herself ruined instead of her sister). The entire series is honestly a banger. It marries actual history with romance in a very clever way. The Chief is 1 of 12 so you have a lot of different tropes and stories to choose from if this one isnt for you!

Convergence of Desire by Felicity Niven - A TRULY WONDERFUL book with great disability rep. Harry (Harriet) is probably the biggest STEM heroine Ive read in HR (I know you love those based on your writing) and is on the spectrum. On paper Thomas is a rake that cannot fathom committing to only one woman but he needs to marry for money fast and she just wants to solve Fermat's Last Theorem. They enter a marriage of convenience and this book is just plain lovely. The very few books that have made me cry. Its emotional and the relationship that builds between these two is just🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽

The Winter King and The Sea King by CL Wilson. CL Wilson is an amazing writing imo. I haven't read romantasy since high school and these books were the first ive read and enjoyed after such a long time. The first book is a marriage of convenience/ forced marriage situation. Her brother killed his brother and fiance?? I dont remember the specifics. But he wants a bride as payment and Thasin (our herione) father is an ass and decided TW there is dubcon. The first sex scene is the wedding night and there are aphrodiacs involved. Second one Dilys is a merman. Thats always fun. Super feminist too. Dont remember the exact details but did have a great time reading this one too.

The Duke Gets Even by Johanna Shupe. Shupe is a great writer and from the very few books I've read of her, The Duke Gets Even is probably my favorite.

Anything by Lorraine Heath but the most recent book I remember reading is The Duchess Hunt where the hero appoints his secretary (who secretly loves him) to find his a wife. Preferably one who is as organized, wonderful, and knows him as much as she does LOL. Lorraine one of the best writers in the genre and they always hit emotionally. You won’t go wrong with anything by her.

Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas. An all time favorite book of mine. Think Persuasion but with a revenge plot. Aline drives McKenna away when they were younger to save him and he comes back a rich ass bitch ready for revenge. The chemistry between Aline and McKenna is insane. One of the few times I truly believed the “soulmates” thing. These two are definitely soulmates. And there’s a wonderful secondary romance as well.

What I Did For a Duke by Julie Anne Long. An Age Gap romance where Alexander plans to seduce Genevieve as revenge against her brother (who slept with his mistress) but she susses him out quickly from there they become sort of friends? he helps her win over her crush, he tells her she has stars in her hair, and along the way they fall in love. Alex is one of my all time favorite heroes.

Lord Of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. As much as I love the hero of this book, Dan I recommend this book a lot solely for the heroine. Jessica Trent has my heart. She is that bitch.

Heartless Duke by Scarlett Scott. An intense romance between Leo, an agent for England and Bridgit, a fenian rebel. Lots of angst and sexual tension. So good.

Lost in Your Arms and That Scandalous Evening by Christina Dodd. These books were one of the first books I read when I started my own reading journey so these hold a special place in my heart. LIYA is about Enid who’s living her life as a widowed caretaker but then someone comes to tell her husband is alive and on the brink of death so she’s forced to nurse him back to health. The love confession that happens is honestly one of my favorite confessions of all time. TSE is about Jane who is back from self imposed exile after a scandal that ruined her ten years back. Ransom, the cause of her scandal and her last crush, suspects of being a spy and tries to stop her. With his heart (and dick).
