i think poppy has been fearing this (ian not actually wanting to work on her game) for a long time. i think ever since they started grimpop, she's been wondering if they'll still work together when the roles are reversed.

i think poppy's always tried to comfort herself with the idea that their imbalanced relationship was okay, because one day she'd be in charge. she'd be the one with the vision. one day the game would be hers. and poppy told herself that when that day came, ian would listen to her. ian would be the one trailing her, hanging onto her every word, like she did to him at mythic quest's start.

poppy daydreamed of just being in charge for once. to be the one that could shoot down his ideas. the one who could go on insane ego trips because she had the vision. being respected and appreciated and valued and praised the way ian is, not only by the public but by ian himself.

and it would make all of it worth it.

i think poppy was really really hoping that when the day came, ian would respect her. that he'd accept the role, and everything would be fine, and they would be them again, but it would be her turn in the spotlight, and ian's turn to actually listen to her.

and now she's finding out that it was never going to work both ways.

ian doesn't respect her. ian doesn't want to listen to her. ian doesn't care about her vision.

i don't really see them coming back from that.

Look, I love Azula. Y'all know this. I probably have more thoughts, opinions, headcanons, and plot bunnies/fic ideas about her than any other character in the series.

But I have been seeing a lot of posts lately trying to reframe the entire series around her. And I need y'all to understand that Azula is not the main character. She is a side character who exists for the purposes of serving the story.

Whatever problems you have with how the narrative frames her (and I have plenty of my own), this was never going to be a story centered around Azula.

That's what fanfic is for.

Ahahaa do you want me to talk more about that? Kenny's eldritch stuff is the best part.

Kenny's family were all killed- Including him- In the past which is what led to the boys being friends again a few years after after Vax special. Despite respawning as always, even without his mother, Kenny decided to stay hidden. I can't remember the exact reason why so I'll have to ask Erratic, but I believe he was sort of going on as a vigilante for years. The only two people who know he's alive is Henrietta Biggle and Tammy Warner who are both close friends of his. Over time, he's beginning to physically change in sometimes hard to hide ways into an eldritch being, and that keeps him hidden, until he's discovered by his friends.

From there, he continues to slowly change but he and Henrietta and Kyle discover that all along, Kyle and Kenny have been spiritually connected since the very start of their lives- Kyle in this AU is pyschic and telekinetic- He always has been, which we based on a few throw away psychic jokes the show has occasionally had with Kyle. But so basically, Kyle's soul is not really... His own, if that makes sense? It's sort of a changling type deal. His human spirit before he was born was replaced by a divine servant of sorts to the new eldritch God, Kenny, existing to protect and accompany him and basically be anything Kenny wants- Though of course, Kenny gladly recognizes Kyle as his own person despite what any eldritch bullshit thinks Kyle should be and Kenny doesn't want Kyle to be anything but himself. But there's a lot of little things related to this- The reason Kyle was sick so often in early seasons? Because Kenny's physical form kept dying far too often, leading to Kyle becoming sickly and weak for a time as his own form was negatively affected. And when Kenny was missing, Kyle wasn't as physically well as he had been for a while, having a tendency to be sick because of their separation.

I thought it was over but of course not. Every time I see a post on my dash about this ship starting harassment (on BOTH sides, everybody sucks here and you should all be ashamed) it takes away any semblance of motivation I was starting to get to get back to reading and translating the katfl novel (and motivation already comes and goes with me, hyperfixation stuff. This just makes me want to stay away from Kirby until things finally calm down again, though)

Demo and Engie both are aged pretty ambiguously to me, they're not given hints of a canon age range like Heavy or Spy or Soldier, with bits of their lore (the gulag, being Scout's parent, and wanting to enlist in WWII respectively) all pointing towards some kinda range. Demo doesn't have an explicitly stated age like Scout either. It's kinda just in bad faith to assume that Demo is older than Sniper based on nothing, but also I cannot emphasize this enough even if Demo were confirmed to be in his forties that would not change how I feel about swordvan. I post bushmed. Clearly that doesn't bug me
