Ain't no sunshine chapter 3
A/n: canon typical violence someone gets stabbed (not you) feedback is always welcome
The clock ticks in an uncomfortable rhythm, almost pounding in your ears, you swallow around nothing and try to take a deep breath, only a few more minutes now.
Sitting cross cross felt childish but you needed the comfort of being low to the ground, before you stood a proud grandfather clock, the thing always intimidated you for some reason, maybe it's because you could smell how expensive it was, how priceless, but it was the only room in the house you could guarantee would be free of any nuisances, aka your estranged family.
A lone little Debbie cupcake in hand, a candle in another, you stick the candle inside the soft flesh of the treat, lighting it with the silver zippo, the seconds begin to count down as the wax melts, today was your eighteenth birthday, and the day you'd find true freedom. A day you'd been waiting for since you'd decided to wash your hands of the Wayne's and all who associated with them.
Bruce had begun to add to his collection of broken people one by one a new face was added to the house, and one by one you were met with the same cold indifference.
Barbara Gordon came into your life warmly, on the arm of Dick, she was kind to you in the beginning, making a point to ask you questions and listening intently when you answered, immediately you admired the older woman, her charming grin and bright demeanor was like a light inside the house, until she became who you eventually discovered was Oracle, tied up in the world of heroes and monsters, she too joined the club of exclusion, unintentionally forgetting plans the two of you had made more often than not, sharing inside jokes with Dick about last night's patrol or even taking on a mentor role for Damian, each action like a stab to the heart.
The last straw felt like the smallest one. And it came in the form of Cassandra Cain.
The girl came to the family under reasons you couldn't know, but she was troubled, you could see the same look in her eyes you had when you looked in the mirror as a child, she didn't outright reject your friendship like Damian, but she was seemingly as disinterested in you as the rest of your family, the real kick to your heart came when you walked past a moment shared between her and Bruce, he was comforting her, you couldn't hear the words spoken but you could feel the love pouring from Bruce, how he had a gentle hand on her shoulder, showing her a kind of love he'd never once shown you.
It wasn't her fault and you held no grudge against her, but it still felt like a slap to the face, and every time you saw her, every time she followed them down to their little hiding spot, the acid-like sting deep in your chest got worse. It was then you made a promise to yourself, you'd stop trying, no more reaching out to Dick or praying Jason would message you back, no more begging for Tim's attention or Damian's respect, and you were sure as shit done asking Bruce to love you.
You're brought back to the present moment by the loud ring of the clock before you, the echoing sound brought a ear splitting grin to your face, finally, you were done.
Blowing out the candle, you toss it on the floor, standing with a pep in your step. You'd had your bags moved out days ago so the only thing left was to leave. A chatter could be heard the closer you got to the front door, male and female voices happily spoke with one another, but you were so unfazed, too excited about your current plans to care they'd gathered without you on your birthday.
"Oh hey (Y/n)" Dick says after spotting your form in the doorway, see the only reason you were here is because the dining room lead to the front door, and your new found freedom.
You nod at him, taking in the sight of popcorn and half empty pizza boxes, a movie projected on the wall, ah so they decided to have a little get together?
None of your concern.
"Sorry we didn't call you down, didn't realize you were home" Dick says a look of pity in his eyes, "do you want some?" It's almost said with a wince.
"Nah." Was your simple response, and with that you walked out of their door and lives.
You'd bought an apartment with your own money, you'd been working since you were fourteen, saving every penny for this moment exactly. It was in a shit part of town with an even shitter interior but it was yours and you loved it. Water dripped into a mostly full bucket in the corner, the lights took a full forty seconds to turn on and it reeked of old cigarettes.
Yet you couldn't wipe the smile off your face.
Feeling that euphoric rush had you buzzing all night, besides the bed in your room was, questionable to say the least, so you decided to stay up. Cleaning what you could with what you had made you feel even better, this terrible little space was all yours, no condescending people or assholes in sight.
Feeling hungry, you throw on a black puffer coat and a matching beanie and start to brave the Gotham cold. Each step is taken with a new gratitude, the farther you get from that family the better you feel.
Your happiness is pulled to a grinding halt by the sound of rapid footsteps behind you, without thinking you turn, fist balled tightly in perfect form, Patty would be proud if she saw the way you decked the bastard running up on you.
You nailed him right in the throat sending him to his knees, his knife cluttering to the ground before your feet, grabbing the weapon you point it down at his choking body, your hands still despite your rapid heartbeat. The wheezing man made a swipe at your ankles causing you to bring the knife down right into his shoulder, a scream rips though his throat, the adrenaline in your body has you running on autopilot.
Kicking him in the side of the head to quickly sprint to the corner store where you'd planned on going in the first place, your hands shake as you grab your food, but again, that smile stays on your face.
Not only had you moved out today, you'd proved to yourself you didn't need them for anything, not protection, not validation, nothing, it was like you could breathe again.
The next few weeks are business as usual at the manor, until Barbara looks at the calendar and realizes she'd, along with everyone, had forgotten your birthday. The guilt ate at her until she made her way to your room knocking softly, a cupcake in hand she called out, "(Y/n)? Listen I'm so sorry about your birthday, I got my dates mixed up." The lie came easy, but no response was heard, "I get if you're completely pissed at me, at us but-"
"Miss (L/n) has moved out."
"what? How is that possible we would have noticed her moving out." As if to prove Alfred wrong Barbara opens your door, only to find a barren room, empty of any signs of life. She turns to the older man, a thousand questions burning on her tongue, but he seemed to read her, "you'd be surprised what goes unnoticed in this house miss Gordon, have a good afternoon." He leaves her with this and it only makes the guilt and confusion worse.
She pulls out her phone scrolling to a number she hadn't used in a while, biting her thumb as it rings she's hoping you clear all her confusion when you answered, but you don't, instead an automated message tells her your phone has been disconnected. Now she begins to worry, you were so young, just barely an adult, the idea of you out on your own in Gotham had her heart sinking, clicking the family group chat she sends a message that will change everything.
"We need to talk about (Y/n)."

home to me — joe burrow
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary — bengals are now 0-3, and joe couldn’t feel worse about it. luckily, you’re there to help pick up his broken pieces
warnings — fem!reader, major angst, fluff, crying joey (SORRY)
note — surprise! and don’t come after me!
Tumblr media
YOU WATCH WITH AN ACHING HEART the last 4 seconds of the game. you wished so badly for a miracle, for an interception, for something to turn that 33 into anything higher than a 38. offense looked great, defense? you could do better than they did without the padding.
that was your bitterness talking.
you filed out of the stadium and down to where you usually met joe; outside the locker room. you knew that this wasn’t going to be the celebration you hoped for. you knew that joe wasn’t going to have that boyish grin on his face, and it broke your heart. you felt like you haven’t seen joe smile in weeks.
you stood there, anxiously swaying as you watched player after player shuffle in from the field. those who noticed you gave you a small, sad smile. others kept going, angry at themselves and at the world.
joe appeared at the end of the crowd of players, as he usually did, with his head down. his shoulders sagged, but it wasn’t until he looked up and locked eyes with you that you saw everything.
joe was devastated, and rightfully so.
he parted from the staff member and walked over to you, a small pep in his step as he did so. no words were spoken as he threw his arms around you, bringing you as close as he could get you. you embraced him back, cradling his head as he nuzzled into your neck.
he’s never done this before, even after a win. for joe to express this level of emotion right after a game was unusual. it worried you, but maybe you were overthinking. you hoped you were.
joe separated from you, sniffling and keeping the tears at bay. you held onto his hands and watched him with a worried eye.
“i’m fine,” he answered your silent question. you knew he wasn’t, and he knew that you knew. that much was obvious.
“ok,” you hummed, but that’s all you were going to say right now. you didn’t believe him, and he knew that. joe gave you a single look, his eyes opening a gateway into his heart, the depth of his sadness. he was beating himself up, and pretty badly too.
“i might be a minute, go on home. i’ll see you later,” he told you. driving separately wasn’t abnormal, sometimes you had to. especially if it was an away game. what was odd was the way he seemed to stick around, unable to move his feet.
“ok, i love you,” you reminded him. his face softened, letting your words permeate through the tension in his chest. he just needed to make it through the press conference.
“i love you,” he replied. he gave you a lingering kiss on the forehead before he stepped away. he didn’t want to, though. he wanted to stay where it was safe, where it was comfortable. he wanted to stay with you because he didn’t have to explain himself. somehow, you always knew.
you were showered and in your pajamas by the time joe got home. you sat on the couch, blanket draped over your legs and your phone in your hands. you saw the comments, the videos of disappointed fans. you saw the posts all about how much of an upset the loss was. the more you read on, the more you realized that the fans didn’t think joe was at fault. they’d be right, it wasn’t his fault.
your eyes flicked up from your phone as joe made his way further into the house. his footsteps are heavy, as is the rest of his body. he’s exhausted, and there’s only a thread keeping him from falling apart.
“babe?” you called out to him, and he slowly turned his eyes towards you. his eyes were puffy, his face was red; did he cry in the car on the way home? silence met your questioning tone, but it did stop him in his tracks.
usually after a bad game, or a loss, joe needed space. he’d trudge up to his office and stay there for a few hours, pouring over film and noting strategies they needed to try next time. he was still going to do those things, but tonight was different. you knew it was the second he hugged you like he did after the game.
“i’m fine,” he replied, his voice breaking. joe didn’t like crying, in fact, he hated it. but he grew used to it, learning that just because he cried didn’t mean he was any less or he was weak. it took him a while for him to trust you with that vulnerability, but once he did, the flood gates couldn’t be locked tight for long.
“you’re not,” you hummed softly. he knew he wasn’t, and he wasn’t trying hard enough to hide it. he screwed his eyes shut, trying to make the tears go away, but all it did was make his eyes burn more.
“don’t run away from me, don’t shut me out,” you stood up from your spot on the couch, slowly walking over to him. he was battling himself as he stood there, tears sliding down his raw cheeks. his mind was waging a war against him, telling him lies about himself and about how he played.
“why?” he asked you.
“why what?”
“i’ve lost three games, and i’ve treated you horribly after two of them. why are you still with me?” he voiced his vulnerability, his fear. his heart told him you wouldn’t leave him because of a losing streak, but the malicious whispers in his mind told him a different story.
“one, you apologized to me and we talked about it,” you started, “secondly, joey, i’m still with you because you are the love of my life. you’re there to pick me up when i’m down, you’re able to make me laugh, you’ve helped me put pieces of myself back together that you didn’t break in the first place. you’re protective, and you’re a fighter, that’s why i’m with you and will always be with you,” you finished, peering into his eyes. you saw your words sink in and start to meld him back together, but it wasn’t enough.
“i’ve lost three games, three. no matter how hard i fight, no matter how well i think i did, i can’t seem to win a damn game!” joe spoke through gritted teeth, his hands going through his hair. he’s frustrated, he’s angry, and he’s beating himself up. he’s not blaming the team, he’s blaming himself.
“all of these people, all of the fans, you, i’ve disappointed them. i’ve disappointed you, i promised myself that i was going to bring home a superbowl ring, for both of us, and if we keep losing-”
“stop, joey,” you interrupted his spiral with a soft hand to his chest. he’s panting, out of breath from the amount of anxiety he’s giving himself.
“listen to me, look at me,” you tilt his chin so his eyes meet yours, feeling the soft starts of scruff against your finger tips, “you did not disappoint me, and you most certainly didn’t disappoint the fans watching you tonight. you played well, you made decisive plays, you were quick to release the ball. you did your job and did it well. and you will get that super bowl ring, i believe that, and so do you. you’ve beat the odds before, you’ve showed the world to never underestimate joe burrow, the small town kid from athens, ohio. so, show them again. show them what this kid can do,” you went on, shining light on the things that made joe joe.
“i’ve failed that kid,” he whispered, afraid to say it out loud. he’s fought so hard his whole life, and he still fought. joe’s never given up and he doesn’t plan on it, but the anger hasn’t settled in yet. the vengeance hasn’t taken root yet.
“no, no love you didn’t, you haven’t. you didn’t fail him when you tore your acl, you didn’t fail him when you went to the superbowl, you didn’t fail him when you went to the afc championship, you didn’t fail him amidst the injuries and the doubts. that kid would do anything to play football, and that’s exactly what you’re doing,” you told him, cradling his cheek with your hand. you could see the crack in his hard exterior, the way his blue eyes showed the depths of his soul. you could see glimpses of baby joey, the anxiety that ran deep, that threatened to take hold.
when joe looked at you, that anxiety slithered away. it tucked its tail and ran; you were his god given solace. he felt at home, he felt the warmth and the safety that radiated off of you.
“what did i do to deserve you?” he asked, melting into your touch.
“absolutely nothing,” you replied. you took his hand, guiding him back to the couch. you sat down, resting your back against the arm rest. you didn’t have to offer him, joe just found himself laying against your chest, his arms wrapped around you. you wrapped your arms around him, kissing the top of his head and threading your fingers through his frosted tips.
“i’m so proud of you, you know that?” you asked.
“i do,” he replied. he melted into you, relaxing against the feeling of your fingers against his scalp and your steady heartbeat in your chest.
“panthers don’t stand a chance,” he mumbled against your chest, making you laugh.
“show em who’s boss, baby,” you chuckled. joe would always come home to you, which wasn’t always physically. sure, home was a place, but it was also a person. you were his home, and he was home as long as he was with you.
Tumblr media

Our Girlfriend pt 3
Based loosely off of this reblog, i loved the artwork and the first drawing made me think of Johnny stuffing his cheeks with the muffins. so i had to write about him bringing the muffins into work that morning. 1k snippet that technically happens before part one, enjoy!
Part One || Part Two
To say that Johnny had a pep in his step on his way to work was putting it mildly.
In his bag was proof. Proof that you were falling for the guys just as much as they've been falling for you. He was whistling on his way into down the hall to the rec room, the sound bouncing off the cinder-blocked walls and echoing back to him with every step.
Throwing open the door he was greeted with an empty room. That was okay. He'd just wait for the others to get there and then he'd share the good news. It's not like he was vibrating out of his skin in excitement or anything.
Pulling out a chair, he took a seat at the table and pulled out one of the muffins. Biting into it, he couldn't control his groan of delight. How did you always manage to make them taste so good? He's watched you bake them before, knew you didn't put any special ingredients in, so why were they always so delicious?
The muffin was gone within four gigantic bites, nothing but the limp liner remaining and even that had been scraped clean as best it could. Balling it up he tossed it into the trashcan and settled back in to wait. Why were the rest of them taking so long.
Five minutes later saw him staring at the bag with a furrowed brow. He shouldn't touch the other muffins. They weren't his, they were for the rest of the team. They were your muffins that you gave to them. He shouldn't.
But he did.
It started with just one. His reasoning that he could give the two remaining to the first two in the room and promise double muffins tomorrow for whoever missed out. That would work.
With a plan firmly in place, the second muffin soon met its fate. He tried to slow down, really savor this one but it was a struggle. This forbidden muffin. Honestly it was the other's fault for not being on time. If they would've been here he would have already passed out the treats and this wouldn't have even been an issue. In fact, it was only right that the last person in shouldn't get a muffin. They should've been here when they were supposed to be if they really wanted one.
Making peace with himself he enjoyed the last few bites of goodness and the second wrapper was quickly discarded.
How long had it been? He looked at the clock but couldn't remember the exact time he'd gotten in. He knew it'd been at least 15 minutes though. His foot bounced as he fidgeted with his phone, sending a cute gif off your way before pocketing it once more.
Back to waiting.
Seriously, did the team get called out on a mission and they just forgot to tell him?
This was ridiculous.
It was with annoyance that he bit into the third muffin. If they thought they could just leave him here with no repercussions then that was on them. Now only the first person in the door would be getting a muffin. The other two would have to wait. And he might not even give them one depending on how long they took. It served them right for making him sit here all by himself. They knew he didn't do good with the quiet.
He had just shoved the last bite of the third muffin into his mouth when the door opened behind him. He swung around with a glare just to see the other three all walking in together.
"Why do you look like you want to murder us?" Kyle asked with a laugh, pushing to reach the table first and sit down, knocking a foot against Johnny's in greeting. "You're never the first one in, what got you up so early?"
With the reminder Johnny beamed.
"My lass sent you muffins!" He mumbled around his mouthful, reaching into the bag to pull the last one out and set it on the table. He swallowed the rest of his bite, "She let me know this morning that she was thinking about you all and she wanted to make sure you had something to help get you through the day."
With the air of someone imparting a great secret he dropped his voice. "You know, she's really warmed up to you three. She asks how you're doing and worries about you. She's been begging for you to come over," he thinks back to you mentioning how you'd love to meet his teammates. You'd made your wishes well known—and he was able to read between the lines.
With a non-committal hum Price looked down at the singular muffin sitting on the table, a piece pinched off by both Simon and Kyle already. "I thought you said muffins. Where's the rest?"
It didn't take more than a glance at Johnny's innocent face to know exactly what happened. Looking over into the nearby trashcan only confirmed it. Three balled up wrappers sitting innocently on top of the trash.
"An extra lap of PT for each muffin you ate, sergeant," he sighed before walking over and swiping the remaining treat that the other two were silently arguing over. Kyle gave an affable hum and leaned over to start picking at Johnny but Simon turned to look at the captain with a frown.
"You two got a piece, the rest is mine."
Furrowed brows.
"I don't have to share with you."
A tilted chin.
"Damn it, I'm the captain and if I want the muffin then I get the muffin."
That finally got a grunt of disappointment out of the stoic man who turned watch Kyle in his quest to tease Johnny for eating their muffins. Kyle was poking at Johnny's cheeks, pointing out a bit of missed pastry.
"Dinner tonight?" Price asked, frowning in thought at Johnny's eager nod as he swatted Kyle's hand away. "I'll try but I don't know if I'll be able to get away. I've got a full day ahead of me."
Kyle left off teasing Johnny and jumped up from the table as Price started to walk back towards his office, jogging to catch up to him. The two remaining men could hear him offering to help speed things along. Another pair of hands to quicken the work.
Turning to look at Simon as they turned the corner, Johnny offered, "Dinner tonight, LT?"
A single, silent nod was all the response he was given but Johnny's face lit up like a sunrise. His favorite people were finally coming together, what more could he want?

catch-up- l.norris (no.4)
------------------
Tumblr media
------------------
summary: lando after Monza.
pairing: land norris x fem! reader.
warnings: talk of workplace harassment
------------------
Lando walked into your apartment with a sour expression on his face. You’d been waiting for him all night. P1 to P3, not exactly a good result.
“Hey darling,” you sighed, walking up to him and wrapping your arms around his neck. He didn’t hug you back. You tried to press a kiss to his cheek, but he shrugged you off and moved further into the apartment and left you in the living room as he went to your bedroom.
Your day hadn’t been great either, if he’d cared to ask, but you didn’t really think faulting him right now was a smart idea. Emotions were high, you’d seen the interviews, you’d seen his face on the podium, and you’d seen him. It still stung.
You followed after him and leant against the doorframe, watching him take off his clothes to be left in his boxers. He didn’t look in your direction once. He lay down in the bed, his back to you, and that was that.
Shit.
“Great discussion,” you mumbled under your breath, and closed the door. Imola to Monaco was only a 3 hour flight and he’d left Imola at about 10pm. It was only about 2am now, and you had work in the morning. Work that you didn’t want to go to. The new co-worker you were teaching was probably the creepiest guy you could ever imagine, and he decided that you were his to touch all day on Friday. Disgusting.
You saw the door open as you settled on the couch, just hoping to drown out the worried and upset thoughts that ran through your head. You were worried about Lando, worried about the Driver’s Championship, worried about Oscar, worried about Lando and Oscar’s relationship, worried about Lando’s confidence, worried about going to work, trying to think about a strategic outfit, worried about the other girls in the office, worried about-
“Hi,” his soft voice invaded your senses, and you turned to face him. There he was, beside you, his hand in yours.
“Hi,” you answered, your voice hoarse and tired. “I’m sorry about today.”
He nodded. “It’s my fault,” he shrugged. “Oscar made the pass, and I was allowed to race him-”
“Lando, you’re not seriously blaming yourself for today, are you?” You asked. He didn’t answer, just staring down at where your hands connected. “It would’ve been a 1-2 finish if Stella and the team didn’t take a page out of the Ferrari handbook of how to fuck shit up. Papaya rules can fuck off, and so can Zak Brown. You deserved that 1-2. Both of you do. P3 is still good, but I know it’s not enough for you. But Lan, think about where you were last year, or the year before. The progress you’ve made this year alone? Unimaginable. Don’t get tunnel-visioned into hating yourself because of one bad race result when you know how talented and skilled you are, and how you won against Max with a fucking 22 second gap. Monza wasn’t your weekend, but next weekend will be and that’s what matters. Also, P3, standing on the podium being a bad result? I’d say you’re doing pretty well then.”
He smiled softly as you reminded him of who he was, but also how important you are to him. Speeches like that from you made him feel a thousand times better than any consolation pity pep-talk he could’ve gotten from someone in the team. “Thank you,” he pressed his lips to your cheek. “Please come to bed.”
You chuckled softly. “I doubt I’ll be sleeping much tonight.”
He cocked an eyebrow. “Why?”
“Just… head busy,” you shrugged. “But I’ll come in if you want me to.”
He pressed his lips to your neck in a soft kiss. “I always want you near me.”
You chuckled. “Ok Romeo,” you scoffed, getting up.
“How was work this week?” he asked, following you into your bedroom.
“Shit,” you sighed, lying down. “But probably better than yours.”
“What happened?”
“It’s fine Lan,” you brushed it off. “You’re tired.”
“Not enough to not hear what you have to say,” he sat up, waiting for you to speak.
You sighed and turned to him, resting your head in his lap as he ran his fingers through your hair. “I was training this new guy at work and he decided to make it his personal mission to make me as uncomfortable as possible. He just kept touching me, and not seeing how it was inappropriate. Now I have to think about what I wear even more, and tell the rest of the girls at the office, and-”
“Baby, you shouldn't be dealing with that,” he sighed. You could tell he was angry. “You need to tell HR.”
“That’s the worst part, he’s the HR guy,” you groaned. “Anyways, I just want to sleep, and I know you do too.”
He nodded, lying beside you and wrapping his arms around your waist to hold you close. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you whispered. “Please don’t come to my place of work and threaten this guy Lan.”
He scoffed. “I wasn’t going to threaten him, I was going to get Max to do it.”
You chuckled. “You’re a child.”
“I’m a problem solver,” he shrugged. “Ok, but he needs to be fired. I can come in and I’ll pretend like he’s insulted me massively as a customer, boom, he’s gone.”
“Ok Superman, whatever you say,” you giggled.

— hope is a thing with feathers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ft. sunday and robin as your older siblings (headcannons)
cw: youngest sibling in the fam, gn! reader, family fluff, reader is between ages 12-14, PLATONIC, i went silly on some of them, reader is a halovian but no specified appearance other than halo and wings
a/n’s note: sunday and robin’s relationship mean sm to me its not even funny like HOYO PLZ MAKE THEM REUNITE I WILL SCREAM IF THEY DONT :((( honestly wish i had them as family yk
Tumblr media
SUNDAY:
— even though he’s the leader of penacony and doesn’t have time to always spend time with you, sunday always makes up for it when he can.
— if you ever need help with an essay or math homework, he’ll assist you with it. even if it’s fucking 2+2, bro would still help you. heck at this point, he’ll do the whole worksheet for you. sunday loves you that much dawg.
— sunday would be rlly supportive for you, no matter what!! he’d encourage you to pursue your dreams, whether that’s becoming a nameless, a performer for the iris family, or something else entirely, he’ll be there alongside you every step of the way :3
— he’d be a bit strict with you, since you’re still young. would probably give you a curfew for when its night, like making you go to bed at 9pm at least. maybe a little later on the weekends. (does time even exist in the dreamscape i dont remember.)
— if you ask sunday VERY politely, (he’ll still oblige), he’ll sing you a lullaby for when you have trouble sleeping. tuck your blanket under your chin too while he’s at it, hehehe.
— LMAO IDK WHY THIS IS SO FUNNY TO ME but imagine you’re dating someone and introduce sunday to your significant other, I FEEL LIKE HE’D BE POLITE AND ALL THAT BUT AS SOON AS YALL DILLY DALLY OR WTV HE’D BE GIVING THEM SIDE GLANCES EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE.
— like i said, he IS protective of you and will go on a rampage if they’re toxic or hurtful to you. :)
— btw, if you watched robin’s trailer, you can catch a glimpse of sunday polishing her halo. and yes, he would polish your halo too, since you’re also halovian, sometimes even preen your wings too if he’s not too busy.
— if you take band or theatre arts in school or figure skating, acrobatics or just SOMETHING that includes performances, sunday doesn’t give a shit if he has something to do, he will find a way to go to every single one bc he doesn’t wanna disappoint you as an older brother :(
— pats your head. a lot. literally a mom-sibling, you can’t tell me otherwise. will occasionally pick your outfits and asks for your opinion before you go out or make sure your school uniform is crisp and unwrinkled. (if your school has uniforms.)
— overall, sunday is a doting and compassionate older brother. he loves you with his whole being. <3
Tumblr media
ROBIN:
— the best, nicest, loving, caring older sister you will ever have in your entire lifespan.
— like sunday, she would help you in any way possible. but she’s not the best when it comes to math homework :(( if you want, she’ll give you a pep talk though!! and trust me, robin gives out the best ad most encouraging pep talks ever like..
— if you do something hella devious, even if its 101% your fault, she’d side with you no matter what. this girl hardly gets to be silly due to her superstar reputation but when she has the chance, plz just let her be. (yall can be devious together.)
— would brush your hair for you!! it doesn’t matter whether you have short or long ass rapunzel-looking hair, she will somehow find a way to style it.
— definitely sang you songs during your childhood, and she still does! robin would hum a tune when you can’t sleep, or you simply just wanna destress and don’t feel like doing anything else. <3
— also like sunday, since she travels a lot, she’ll always make up for the lost time by brinking trinkets and gifts, maybe even bring you along with her during her one of her tours!
— also incredibly supportive in your passions! want to become a performer like her? she’ll be there rooting for you on the sidelines! wanna learn to sing and follow in her footsteps? sure, she’ll gladly teach you for free! (not like you had to pay anyway teehee.)
— robin would be somewhat protective of you as well, just not too strictly. after all, you should experience as much of the outside world as you can. 🎀
— i feel like she’s a horrible money spender.. (same..) if robin sees you glance at a piece of jewelry or smth hella expensive for 0.00001 nanoseconds, suddenly it’s in a gift bag at your desk when you get home from school with a little note from her along with some pastries she thought you’d like.
— if you gift her something, whether its handmade or you bought it with your own money, chances are she’ll keep it for the rest of eternity and repay you with a gift of her choice as well!!
— overall, robin is a sweet and soft older sister and is always there for you, no matter the distance that separates you!

the late saturday afternoon sun beamed brightly over jujutsu high's football field, casting long shadows across the trimmed grass.
the stands were packed with spectators, a sea of navy blue with pops of lighter blue from the cheer squad's uniforms, which shimmered with metallic accents under the sunlight. the players, clad in their dark blue jerseys with gold trim, huddled on the sidelines, their helmets glinting. you could spot players number one and two — yuji and megumi — from where you were positioned with satoru, who had you held up over his shoulders to showcase the large poster you and nobara had spent hours decorating; she was currently lined up with the rest of the cheerleaders on the track, pom-poms shaking in time to a peppy chant, while the faint scent of hot dogs and popcorn wafted from the concession stands.
on the opposing side, ridgeview high prepared for battle. their colours (a striking crimson and white) stood out against the green field as their players jogged through last-minute warm-ups, their jerseys spotless and sharp. similarly, their cheerleaders wore matching crimson skirts with white trim, their coordinated cheers echoing across the field as they tried to rival the noise from you and your peers on the stands.
the game had begun with ridgeview high immediately showing you why they were team you should be worried about, their offence tearing through jujutsu high's defence with precision passes and swift runs. by the end of the first quarter, ridgeview had been leading by two touchdowns, their crimson-and-gold-clad players celebrating wildly under the late morning sun.
panda, your school mascot that had been part of nobara's cheerleading group at the front, had let out a roar of disappointment. you raised your brows at the sound — he truly was yaga's son.
"they bulldozed us," you commented, your arms growing tired from holding up your pink, sparkly poster. you held it to your chest as coach yaga called back the team for a pep talk: he did not look pleased. "it's gonna be so embarrassing if we lose. i was talking so much smack to one of their players on twitter."
"we're not gonna lose," satoru reassured you from below, patting your thigh as though your worries weren't rational. "but if — we won't, obviously — but on the very rare occasion that we do, we know who to blame."
you nodded. "player number two."
"exactly! player number t— wait that's megumi," satoru frowned, throwing his head back so he could look up at you. you thought he looked odd upside down.
"mhm," you hummed, waiting for the next play to commence. "it's his fault 'cause... 'cause i say so."
"nah, that's a shitty reason," said satoru, looking back at the field where the players were preparing to commence the second play. "it's only okay if i say so — don't pull my hair, ow!"
you had given him a firm tug, fed up with his antics as he shook your hand off his head, causing you to sway slightly on his shoulders. you quickly regained your balance, gripping his head tightly.
"stop squirming," you muttered, giving him another light thump, to which he groaned but didn't retaliate. instead, he tilted his chin up defiantly.
"as i was saying," he continued, his tone matter-of-fact, as though explaining the newton's law, "it's not megumi's fault when you really pay attention to player nine's form."
you looked around, brows furrowed.
"player nine?" you repeated lowly, searching for the number on each jersey. the players had begun to disperse, but you spotted nine next to seven, his arm extended to pat his friend.
you frowned, confused when the realisation of who was beneath the helmet had clicked to you.
"that's kamo," you spoke aloud, both to yourself and to satoru, who let out a low whistle below you.
"yeah?" he responded, before lowering his voice down to a level where you were certain that if you had not been sitting propped up on his shoulders, you would have missed it. "unsurprising."
you pulled down your poster to hit his face, his immediate reaction to become frantic, risking you falling off.
"stop!" you demanded, panicked.
"your fault for being smart enough to pick a fight with the same person who's holding you up."
he wasn't wrong there, you accepted to yourself silently.
the game restarted with renewed energy, and you and satoru had started loudly cheering for both megumi and yuji, your voices blending with the collective roar of the crowd. you continued to wave your pink, sparkly poster energetically above your head, waiting for megumi to catch sight of it, for it had been tailored to specifically piss him off.
midway through the quarter, the ball was in yuji's possession, who skilfully dodged two ridgeview defenders with quick footwork. he spotted megumi sprinting downfield, and with a perfectly timed pass, the ball soared through the air. megumi leaped, catching it cleanly despite pressure from a ridgeview line-backer. and with incredible focus, he charged forwards, weaving through the defence, and managed to cross the goal line just before being tackled.
all at once, the crowd erupted as the referee signalled a touchdown, jujutsu high having finally closed the gap in the score. you and satoru cheered wildly, his excitement nearly knocking you off balance on his shoulders.
from the middle of the celebratory huddle, megumi's gaze wandered upwards, begrudgingly enduring the pats and slaps on his back from his ecstatic teammates. his expression (though difficult to see very well from where you were) was one of mild irritation, his posture stiff among the jubilant chaos.
you tried not to laugh.
he hated hugging, especially when it came from people he was not particularly close with, and anyone could tell. he did not do much to hide his distaste, after all.
as his eyes drifted above the sea of helmets, they landed on you and satoru in the stands, and when his expression had become stonier than it was during the hug attacks from his fellow teammates, you knew he spotted the poster.
amid the sea of sparkly pink glitter, obnoxiously bold bubble letters read "YUJI AND MEGUMI <3" in a mix of hot pink and light pink, glimmering in the sunlight. the glaring issue, however, had been the centrepiece: a photo of him, clearly edited, showing a toothy, radiant smile he had never once produced in real life.
you'd used a face app since he never smiled.
yuji's face was on the other side of the poster, but you'd made sure to decorate his side normally. after all, his picture had remained unedited due to the fact that he knew how to smile.
the over-the-top embellishments, featuring musa from winx club and draculaura from monster high, made the megumi's side of the poster even more ridiculous.
you laughed when he took his helmet off to pinch the bridge of his nose in exasperation, though his teammates mistook his reaction for post-touchdown exhaustion.
"woohoo! porcupine!" you cheered supportively.
he only slammed his helmet back on his head and turned away, returning to the game with more drive in his steps.
"sir!" someone from behind you called out loudly. "mr gojo! we can't — we can't see! you're in the way —"
"you'll get over it," satoru called back cheerfully.
the game had eventually ended with jujutsu high sealing a victory in the final moments. the cheerleaders' blue pom-poms shimmered in the afternoon sun as the football team huddled together in celebration, and you had realised with ringing ears, how you'd never heard such loud cheers erupt from the stands the way that they had that saturday afternoon.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・
the room was chaos.
sukuna moved like a predator, his every step deliberate, his grin wide and mocking as he toyed with nobara. still, in her anger, she lunged at him, fist raised, her ferocity unshaken despite the bruises already darkening her skin. each of her attacks had been met with infuriating ease, sukuna parrying her strikes with casual movements that radiated his overwhelming strength. it was clear she was losing — her breaths were ragged, her stance faltering, but she pressed on regardless.
megumi was holding his sprained ankle, trying to find a way to stand on it that didn't feel like his entire leg was going to give.
every instinct told him to intervene, to distract sukuna long enough to pull nobara out of his reach, but doing so would be futile anyway, for his ankle had been annoyingly holding him back.
he gritted his teeth, glancing at the time on his phone.
you weren't here.
you had promised you'd come.
despite your tutoring session with kamo, you'd insisted that you wouldn't miss this. but now, with sukuna wreaking havoc and nobara barely holding her own, your absence stung, and megumi bitterly wondered to himself...
were you running late? or had you decided that turning up just wasn't worth the trouble?
his fingers tightened into fists. he didn't have time to dwell on your absence, yet it still lingered at the back of his mind like a haunting ghost, sour.
sukuna laughed for the nth time within the same hour — a cruel, echoing sound — as he knocked nobara's hairclips (which she'd been using to fight, somehow) out of her grip, sending her sprawling. megumi cursed under his breath, standing on his injured foot and pulling nobara back by her shoulder, putting himself between her and the demon possessing his friend's face.
"why do you keep coming back every twenty-ninth like we summoned you?" he demanded angrily, scowling when sukuna tore through another one of yuji's hoodies. this was getting really annoying.
"because you did summon me, megumi fushiguro!" sukuna roared back, his expression manic as he swung at megumi, his nails elongated to try and poke at his eye. megumi was pulled back by nobara's quick reaction time. "you summoned me once, now i'll return every month on the same day!"
"where's y/n?" megumi asked nobara, his head tilted slightly so he could glance at both sukuna and nobara at the same time. "she should be here by now —"
"i killed her!"
megumi and nobara exchanged a glance at sukuna's words, their reactions starkly contrasting. nobara's face flickered with confusion, her brows knitting together as if trying to decide whether sukuna was being serious or merely taunting them — it wouldn't be the first time, after all.
meanwhile, megumi's lip curled in pure disgust, his sharp glare piercing through sukuna's smug grin. the idea of you being dead — especially as an offhand joke — churned something bitter in his stomach, but he knew better than to react, for sukuna thrived on eliciting emotion, and megumi wasn't about to give him the satisfaction.
it was a stupid thing to say anyway. megumi did not like dramatics unless it came from you.
"is that... even possible?" nobara began, sounding uncertain.
"no," said megumi, brows furrowed, "obviousl—"
"— how would you know?" sukuna snapped, suddenly dropping to the floor to grip at megumi's injured ankle. megumi let out a hiss of pain as he kicked him off, but it had not been an easy feat, for sukuna's grip was iron-tight. "i ripped her body apart!"
nobara and megumi both worked simultaneously to take sukuna away from megumi's foot, but he was too strong.
"she said she's running a little late but she'll be here!" nobara hurriedly explained to the injured male, pulling at yuji's — sukuna's — hair.
he did not like that, choosing to release megumi's ankle in favour of jumping at nobara's neck.
"the library's not too far from here —" megumi snapped, throwing his arms over sukuna's shoulders from behind and pulling him away from nobara, holding him against his chest as hard as he could, "— hold and tie his arms — it shouldn't take her this long to — shit — get here!"
sukuna laughed menacingly. "she is in her tomb —"
"she — didn't — explain!" nobara said through heaved breaths; sukuna had been making it difficult to grab at his arms, swinging them back and forth with clenched fists, attempting to punch her away.
megumi let out a pained grunt, trying to shift his weight on his other foot. "well text her again —"
nobara widened her eyes at him, her pupils darting from sukuna to megumi to the mess made out of the room.
"— how?"
"SHE IS DEA—"
nobara karate chopped at sukuna's head, apparently having had enough of his constant interference with her conversation.
"can you speak when you are SPOKEN TO?"
furious with her attack at him, he roughly shrugged megumi off his back and immediately grabbed nobara's hair, pulling it harshly so she'd fallen to her knees before him.
"how dare you?" he began, contorting yuji's friendly brows into something more menacing. "this is where you belong, woman. at my f—" he stopped himself, looking over his shoulder at the sound of megumi's clumsy footsteps closing in on him. he immediately spun around and wrapped his hands around megumi's neck, tightening them to cut off his airways. nobara sprung into action immediately, trying to ease the iron-tight grip the demon had on her friend.
"what the he—"
"let go of him — oh my god —"
"I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS ONE MENTIONING THE OTHER BRAT!" sukuna stated stormily, eyes glinting a dangerous red. megumi could see the extra sets of eyes blinking back at him as he choked for breath. it was not a pleasant sight. "YOU WANT TO KNOW WHERE SHE IS? HOW ABOUT I LET YOU JOIN HER —"
"she's not dead!" nobara argued indignantly, her face growing pale at the vulnerability of megumi's state, "and would you get your disgusting claws off him?"
megumi's annoyance towards you burned in the back of his mind, barely tempered by his dwindling focus on survival.
you should've been here by now — how much longer was a simple tutoring session supposed to last? controlling sukuna was already a monumental challenge with three people; with only him and nobara, it felt like a hopeless endeavour, for the demon was too strong, too fast, and far too unpredictable. if you had been present, your support could have made all the difference...
or so he angrily justified to himself, as sukuna's nails bit deeper into his neck.
suddenly, the demon's grip loosened, and megumi had stumbled backwards, gasping for air.
but his reprieve hadn't been born of any mercy; it was a deliberate, mocking act.
sukuna had simply grown bored and wanted a new target.
with a sinister laugh, he threw megumi to the ground like a discarded rag doll before turning his attention to nobara, his lips curling into a gleeful sneer, his red eyes narrowing dangerously as he advanced towards her.
"why are you looking at me like that?" asked nobara, and while it might have sounded like she was being fierce and angry, megumi could sense the underlying fear in her voice.
"famous last words," sukuna teased, and megumi could have sworn he'd seen the tattoos on his body move in excitement.
but before anyone could say or do anything, sukuna's ears had wiggled, almost like demon dog's when he spotted satoru's expensive dog treats.
then, his head spun to glance at the door, which was now opened to make room for you, panting and wide-eyed, one hand holding onto the knob, the other closed around the spare key yuji had given you the night before.
your gaze swept over the chaotic scene: the dishevelled nobara, the bruised and gasping megumi on the ground, and sukuna's imposing form towering over them. the blood drained from your face as you locked eyes with the demon, his sinister grin widening like a predator spotting new prey.
"finally!" sukuna hissed, his voice dripping with venomous delight. his head tilted unnaturally, the extra eyes on his face narrowing with malevolent excitement. "the stupid chatterbox is here!"
"lock the door!" nobara ordered you as sukuna sprinted in your direction.
you slammed the door shut behind you with a resounding bang, shoving the key into the lock with practiced precision, and just as sukuna's body crashed against it with a deafening thud, you deftly sidestepped to avoid the impact, letting out a sigh of relief at how he had narrowly missed you.
with a swift twist of the key, the lock clicked into place just in time, and you tossed the key at nobara with wide eyes.
sukuna let out a loud howl of frustration. "you haven't even been here a minute and you are already such a NUISANCE!"
"i didn't even do anything — woah!"
megumi had speedily scrambled to his wobbly feet to pull you away from the danger that was sukuna by your shoulders. your back had met the wall harshly, making you let out a gasp of something in between pain and stupor, brows furrowed at his eerily cold expression.
it seemed that you were not aware of just how much wreckage sukuna could cause with one less person.
"where were you?" megumi asked, as sukuna made an attempt to rip the doorknob off; nobara had reached up and pulled his hair so he was stumbling backwards away from the door.
"the library —"
"— for that long?"
the crease between your brows had started to deepen as you blinked up at him.
"i never said i'd make it on time," you responded, as he stepped back and looked over his shoulder to see if nobara was in any danger; she had everything handled. "i told you i'd be late," you added, eyes widening as you pushed past him to help nobara with sukuna, but megumi had let out a pained grunt, making you stop in your tracks and eye him carefully. "are you okay?"
"fine," he said, failing to hide his limp.
you looked between nobara, sukuna, megumi, and the rest of the mess around the room, blinking confusedly.
"all of this happened 'cause i was gone for a bit?" you marvelled, shocked.
"can barely survive with three of us," nobara huffed over sukuna's loud threats, throwing the key that sukuna had been actively trying to retrieve over to megumi, who caught it with ease. "he nearly escaped six times with just megumi and i! shit, help me!"
you sprung into action, throwing your school bag aside to pull sukuna away from nobara.
"why is he shirtless again?" you said, squeaking when he shoved you away, stumbling into megumi by accident.
"how dare you touch me with your female fingers —"
"okay i'm sorry oh my god!" you cried, hands going up to shield your face from his onslaught of punches, but this action had done nothing to hide the level of pain that had shot up every area he targeted. "ow — stop!"
the room descended into more chaos as sukuna launched into a furious assault. his movements were wild yet calculated, his strikes unrelenting as he aimed to incapacitate everyone in the room.
he had decided to lunged at you first, his nails raking through the air as you ducked just in time, tripping backwards into megumi once again, but this time, megumi had instinctively shoved you aside to take sukuna's punch directly. he had stumbled as a result, but remained upright, apparently determined to shield you and nobara from further harm.
nobara, meanwhile, had grabbed the nearest object — a chair, for the sharpest objects had been wisely taken out of the room for everyone's safety — and swung it with all her strength at sukuna's back. the impact had barely fazed him, but it gave you just enough time to grab a textbook from your bag and hurl it at his head; the book smacked him squarely in the face, and he growled, red eyes glowing with rage.
"really, woman?" sukuna snarled, wiping his face with yuji's arm. "a book?"
he picked it up and tore it in front of your eyes, grinning grimly at your expression.
the book was a hardback.
"hey, kento lent that to me!" you complained angrily, before quickly scrambling out of reach as he advanced again, reminding yourself that you were talking to a demon.
nobara tackled him from the side, trying to pin his arms, but he effortlessly shrugged her off, sending her crashing into the desk.
megumi, visibly struggling, grabbed a metal ruler and jabbed it at sukuna's ribs, drawing a rare wince of discomfort.
"get the rope!" he barked at you, and you immediately darted to the corner of the room, pulling out the frayed cord you'd used before to subdue yuji when he'd started acting erratically.
the three of you worked in frantic synchronisation, trying to dodge sukuna's attacks and pull the rope taut around him whenever an opening appeared. nobara distracted him by tossing books and binders from your bag in his path, while you and megumi spent the time looping the rope around his torso.
sukuna's strength had been overwhelming, but each loop of the rope restricted his movements a little more, and you had managed to tie a final knot with shaking hands, backing away as he thrashed against his bindings.
for a moment, silence fell, save for sukuna's heavy breathing and the sound of everyone else gasping for air. then, with a sinister smirk, he chuckled darkly, the sound sending shivers down your spine.
"you think this will hold me?"
"let's hope so," megumi muttered, leaning against the wall, his ankle burning, "because i'm out of ideas."
in the brief moments the three of you used to catch your breath, the respite proved to be tragically short-lived...
sukuna, his muscles rippling with unrestrained malice, had managed to tear through the ropes with almost insulting ease. the frayed ends of the cord fell to the ground as he stood there, grinning like a wolf savouring its cornered prey, rolling his shoulders as though loosening the tension in his body.
"since you're all so determined to waste my time," he sneered, his voice dripping with cruel amusement, "why don't we take a little trip down memory lane? after all, it's only fitting to reminisce before you all meet your end." his voice lowered into a chilling purr. "let's relive our first encounter, shall we?"
"what does that mean?" you began slowly.
he did not clarify...
and with that, sukuna's movements became terrifyingly calculated.
in a matter of minutes, he recreated the chaotic tableau from the day he had first terrorised your group: you found yourself yanked by the arm and hoisted up onto the curtain rail, your body dangling precariously as the flimsy structure groaned under your weight. nobara was shoved to the ground, her hair a wild, tangled mess as she clutched her arm, a fresh scrape bleeding through her torn sleeve. and megumi, breathing heavily with one hand braced on the wall, was forced to limp to the side, his injured ankle trembling under the strain.
sukuna stood amidst the wreckage, laughing with unrestrained glee at his handiwork, savouring the helplessness etched into each of your faces.
right, he thought to himself, watching the room and remembering the exact position he'd been in several months ago in february. this is what he meant...
his eyed had met sukuna's, and the demon's patience wore thin.
"where's the key?" he demanded, his tone sharp and unforgiving.
megumi felt for it in his pocket of his pants, but defiantly refused to give it up, his silence very obviously fuelling sukuna's frustration. with a growl of annoyance, the demon's lips curled into a sinister grin, and he made a split-second decision.
if words wouldn't pry the information from megumi, brute force would suffice, apparently, for he marched to the door and, with a single powerful strike, shattered the doorknob entirely.
megumi knew it was too late, and so did you, for he heard you groan from the ceiling.
"oh my god..."
the door had creaked open, but before sukuna could take a triumphant step into freedom, he stopped short.
his confidence wavered for the first time as his gaze met the person standing in the doorway.
it wasn't choso, as it had been during everyone's first encounter...
it was satoru.
megumi had never been so pleased to see the tall man, not that he'd ever tell him that.
he looked amused, his own grin widening as sukuna's faltered, and for a moment, the room held its collective breath.
and then he spoke:
"what, you're a gangster now, yuji?"
sukuna's expression twisted in disdain the instant satoru referred to him as yuji.
his lip curled, baring teeth in a snarl as he raised a fist, ready to strike, but before the blow could connect, satoru had moved with lightning speed, effortlessly grabbing sukuna's wrist and twisting his arm behind his back in one fluid motion. you could barely register what was going on from where you were hung, viewing the world from an upside down lens, but you caught how satoru, with a well-placed foot, swept sukuna's legs from under, sending him crashing to the floor with a resounding thud that made the entire room tremble.
"heh, that's sick! — i got your text, y/n," he grinned as he ignored sukuna's furious growl beneath him and straightened up, brushing imaginary dust from his sleeve with an air of exaggerated nonchalance.
his attention turned to nobara.
and a laugh erupted from him, loud and unrestrained, as his eyes took in her disheveled state.
"but i guess i'm a little late," he declared with delighted amusement, eyes sparkling as nobara swatted her wild hair in annoyance, "i've never seen you this ugly."
he helped her up despite his teasing, her eyes widening as she glanced at sukuna, who was speeding towards the open door.
"the door!" she yelled, but satoru's long legs were proven to be convenient, slamming the door shut before he grabbed sukuna by the shoulder and forced him backwards.
"gonna have to do an exorcism," he explained all the while, pulling out a small, plain, and black book from the wide pocket of his large jacket.
at that, sukuna's roar filled the room, a feral, deafening sound that reverberated through the walls like thunder.
"AN EXORCISM?" he laughed, his back against the lower wall. it seemed that the mesh of yuji's and sukuna's strength was no match for satoru's adult strength, which made sense, as sukuna did not have full control over yuji as of now. you thanked the lord silently. "I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU TRY!"
yet satoru moved through it as if his bellows were the soothing hum of a lullaby, steps measured and unhurried; his eyes, sharp with amusement and calm confidence, flicked to you, still dangling precariously from the curtain rod like a forgotten puppet.
he looked even more like an idiot to you upside-down.
but you would tell him that after you got his help.
with an effortless grace that betrayed his strength, he reached up and steadied you, his hands firm but careful as he eased you down.
"upsie daisy!" he said, as the world spun right-side up again the second your feet had touched the floor.
you slumped against the wall with exhaustion, the blood that had rushed to your head moving back down again.
but you could not rest there for long, for satoru had swiftly ushered everyone out of the room with a wave of his hand. nobara had stormed ahead, muttering about how this should have been handled earlier, while you followed, glancing nervously over your shoulder.
was it safe for satoru to be left alone with the demon, who was now eyeing nobara as she began closing the distance between herself and the door?
megumi had lagged behind, wincing with every step, which did not go amiss by satoru, who tilted his head slightly to meet his eye.
"i'll drive you to shoko's, yeah?" he asked, his tone gentler but still carrying a teasing lilt.
but megumi shook his head firmly, refusing the offer as he bit the inside of his cheek.
"i'm fine," he said, and that was how the three of you found yourselves lingering outside yuji's door, leaning against the wall as tension hung heavy in the air.
from within, the sounds of sukuna's fury erupted.
a guttural roar rattled the walls, followed by a sinister, bone-chilling laugh that sent a shiver down your spine. there were loud thuds and crashes as if furniture was being flung across the room, and knowing sukuna, there was absolutely a chance that that was exactly what had been going on behind the door, each sound punctuated by the sharp crack of splintering wood.
amidst the chaos, sukuna's mocking snarls could be heard over satoru's carefree chuckles, his taunting voice carrying effortlessly through the door.
"that all you got?" satoru teased, his words dripping with amused arrogance. "i was expecting more — hah! nearly got me there! — the way she described you."
another earth-shaking bang followed, sukuna roaring in frustration while satoru continued to laugh, as calm and amused as if he were playing a game instead of exorcising a feral demon.
the three of you exchanged concerned looks with one another.
"he's gonna get himself killed, teasing sukuna like that," nobara muttered, leaning against the wall opposite the door in the dark hallway.
"he's survived worse," you responded, moving your head away from the door with a flinch at the sudden bang that had followed.
nobara raised a brow. "like?"
"toji —"
"watch it," megumi growled from below without missing a beat; he had been sitting against the wall, a hand on his injured ankle.
the three of you waited in silence, the sounds of sukuna's threats, satoru's chuckles, and every other bang and crash that followed filling the space like white noise.
you glanced down at your friend's ankle, lips pursed.
"is it sprained?" you asked carefully.
he didn't look up when he replied.
"don't know," he shrugged, his tone clipped. "it's fine."
there was a short pause.
bang!
BANG!
megumi scowled. "how come you were late?"
the weight of megumi's question settled heavily in your chest, sharp and pointed, like a blade that hadn't quite drawn blood but hovered threateningly close.
he wasn't being harsh — not exactly — but there was something probing about his tone, and the way his eyes flickered to yours at your silence, dark and expectant, made it feel more like an inquiry than casual conversation.
you couldn't blame him.
sukuna's near-escape had been catastrophic enough, and now megumi was injured because you hadn't been there on time. still, the timing of the question prickled at you, as though he were peeling back layers you hadn't offered to reveal, and for a fleeting moment, a sense of guilt tangled with unease tightened in your throat.
"the bus was delayed," you answered honestly, "so i texted satoru."
the way megumi's glance had intensified was almost comical. "you thought he'd come on time?" he asked.
"no, but he was better than anyone else," you said, pressing your ear to the door again and remaining unsurprised when sukuna had let out an excited laugh.
"if maki didn't have wushu practice right now, we could've called her," said nobara, who was now standing by the hallway mirror and flattening down her hair to make it appear less dishevelled. "she'd give sukuna a good run for his money."
"you should visit shoko," you suggested, looking down at megumi with raised brows. your ear was still pressed against the door, but it was eerily silent now. you frowned. "she can patch you up," you added wisely.
megumi shook his head. "she'll also ask questions."
he had a good point.
the silence behind the door stretched, unnervingly still. you could hear the occasional creak of floorboards, but no sounds of sukuna's chaotic laughter or the clash of any furniture that had been so familiar only moments ago.
it was almost as if the battle behind the wall separating you from him and satoru had never happened, leaving behind a heavy stillness that made your skin crawl.
frowning, you glanced at the others, noticing they were all waiting with bated breath for some sign from the other side, but nothing came...
not a peep, not a whisper, just that oppressive quiet.
suddenly, the door had swung open, and the faintest scuffling noise echoed in the hallway. you had instinctively taken a step back, eyes widening as satoru reappeared, a half-conscious yuji draped over his shoulder like a ragdoll, his limbs limp and face pale. the sight alone was enough to send a wave of unease through you: you hadn't realized how much you'd been holding your breath until now.
"all right, everyone, move it," satoru called out, his voice as casual as ever. "car's outside and— stop looking so worried! ijichi's not here! c'mon now."
his tone brooked no argument, and you all instinctively began to shuffle towards the exit.
nobara, ever the sceptic, gave a sharp look at the limp form of yuji. "why's he coming with us? can't he just stay in his room and sleep it off?"
satoru's expression was serious for a fraction of a second before his usual smirk returned. "just in case sukuna decides to pop back in for round two," he replied, his words matter-of-fact but laced with an edge that made it clear the situation was far from over.
he pulled out his car keys and clicked it with a smile. "better safe than sorry."
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・
"you're basically saying i should die."
"i never said that."
"but you're implying it."
"how?"
"making me sit next to him."
the car hummed softly as satoru drove you all through the quiet streets, one hand lazily resting on the steering wheel, the other tapping rhythmically against the window frame. nobara sat beside him in the front passenger seat, her elbow propped up against the door, head tilted towards the window as she basked in her victory of claiming shotgun without competition from yuji, who laid unconscious in the backseat, slumped against you, his head resting heavily on your shoulder as his soft snores filled the cramped space.
sandwiched between him and megumi, you shifted slightly, careful not to wake him while still trying to find a comfortable position for yourself, but it was difficult, knowing that there was a possibility that sukuna could open his eyes at any moment and lunge for your throat.
you were, after all, the one he hated most.
on your other side, megumi sat stiffly, staring out of his own window with a distant expression. the occasional glances he'd cast towards you and yuji  were starting to irritate you: if the way his brows would furrow slightly whenever yuji shifted in his sleep meant anything, then he should have swapped seats with you the second satoru placed yuji on the seat behind nobara.
as your argument with megumi ebbed and flowed, each sharp remark from him met with an equally cutting retort from you, nobara, blissfully detached from the chaos behind her, busied herself with exploring the various compartments in satoru's car. she gleefully unearthed a collection of canned sodas, neatly stored candies, and small bottles of fresh water, shooting the man driving beside her a dirty look at how well organised everything was.
"impressed?" he grinned, a dimple on his right cheek.
"don't get ahead of yourself," she sniffed, annoyed at the way he shrugged, looking pleased with himself.
"stop yelling at me," you had been saying from the back, eyes narrowed at megumi's cold expression, "'cause you're gonna wake him up! and then he's gonna come for me first! what then, huh? you're just gonna sit there and let that happen?"
megumi eyed the canned sodas and shot you a deadpanned look.
"you've got it handled," he said, and at your confused, furrowed brows, he elaborated. "i'll help you out."
he undid his seatbelt and leaned over you, extending an arm in between satoru and nobara to grab a water bottle and retreat, presenting it to you with a bland face.
your gaze hardened.
he felt the need to continue.
"you can drown him with your mermaid powers—"
"i know what you meant!" you snapped, angrily smacking the water bottle out of his hand.
"he's not waking up for hours, y/n," satoru called out loudly, shooting you a glance before keeping his eyes on the road. "stop worrying."
"easy for you to say," you shot back, pinching megumi's thigh as hard as you possibly could. he hissed and peeled your fingers off. "you're not sitting next to him!" your eyes widened suddenly. "wait... what if after you've dropped us all off, he comes back and strangles you from behind?"
satoru laughed at that.
"careful," he chortled, "it might sound like you're worried about me."
"only 'cause if he gets you, he's coming for me next," you scowled, brows furrowed.
the man driving the car met your eyes through the wide mirror. he hadn't put his glasses back on yet, so you could see every bit of amusement dancing around his blue irises.
"don't concern yourself with that. i got it handled," he answered at last, and despite his carefree tone, you still found yourself falling into a pit of worry, head first. "so! you four have no idea who ryomen sukuna is?"
"we know who he is," said nobara, and she maintained a dramatic pause before continuing. "a demon."
satoru shook his head. "that's not what i meant."
the girl in the passenger seat shot him an exasperated glance.
"look him up," satoru added, offering no other thoughts or help except that.
nobara, alert in the front seat, began scrolling through her phone with a determined focus following satoru's suggestion. for a moment, it seemed that nothing had come up, and that satoru was simply messing with the rest of you for fun.
but it was her gasp that made both you and megumi sit up straighter in alert.
"what?" megumi demanded, watching as you leaned forwards to push your front through the gap between satoru and nobara, and then raising your brows in realisation when yuji dropped onto your seat in your absence.
you hurried back and lifted him up again, letting him rest on you with a frightened frown.
"what did you find?" you asked her urgently, your voice low as yuji shifted in his sleep.
"ryomen sukuna..." nobara read out, her brows knitted together as she read about his origins, "was a fearsome demon figure said to have terrorised villages during japan's heian period. known for his monstrous strength and sadistic tendencies, sukuna was infamous for his brutal acts of violence, particularly against women and children. eyewitness accounts described him as a towering figure with crimson eyes, tattoos that writhed across his body, and an insatiable hunger for destruction."
you gulped. "sounds just like him..."
an unsettling silence filled the car, thick and heavy like a fog. the only sound that reached your ears was the low, haunting whistle of the wind as it brushed against the moving vehicle.
"is that it?" said satoru, who sounded disappointed.
"no..." nobara muttered, before heeding the hand satoru had kept on the wheel that gestured at her to continue. "a particularly gruesome aspect of sukuna's legend revolves around his penchant for mutilating women and consuming children. these horrific acts were carried out with the aid of an accomplice: u— u— ura... uraume, a mysterious and cold figure who served as sukuna's cook. stories claim that uraume prepared the remains of sukuna's victims into meals, feeding the demon's appetite for chaos and cementing their role in his legacy of terror."
"wait," you began, brows contorted in fear. it didn't help that every snore yuji let out triggered the memory of sukuna's roar in your mind. "that's the name he used when we first used the ouija board."
"keep going," megumi added icily.
"while some dismiss these accounts as exaggerated folklore, others believe that sukuna was not merely a tale to scare children, but a real and malevolent force that thrived on fear and destruction, leaving a legacy that endures in whispered myths to this day... what the fuck?"
nobara's hands trembled slightly as she lowered the phone, her expression an unsettling mix of irritation and unease. she glanced at satoru, her brows furrowed in a scowl.
"you really had to make me look that up, didn't you?" she snapped, though her voice was tinged with a nervous edge. despite her tough facade, it was clear the vivid descriptions had unsettled her.
you couldn't blame her. only a psycho would he unfazed with what you had just heard.
but satoru only chuckled lightly, one hand still on the wheel.
"oh, come on. you're the ones who decided to play with a ouija board," he said with a lopsided grin. "i'm just saying, if you're going to mess around with stuff like that, at least don't act surprised when you wake up a demon older than the concept of personal hygiene." he gestured vaguely, his tone only half-serious. "rule number one: don't poke the supernatural bear. rule number two: if you do poke it, don't be surprised when it growls."
"this one doesn't growl," you shivered, feeling uneasy. "it roars."
"everyone else gets something less terrifying once, maybe twice," nobara groaned, tucking the strands of her short hair behind her ear. "but the one time we mess around with the board, we end up summoning ryomen sukuna — professional cannibal!"
"eh, not surprising," satoru shrugged, looking way too unbothered with how terrified everyone else seemed in the car. "what? the east asian population in this town is large, specifically japanese people. you don't think that didn't have something to do with the fact that you summoned a demon that originated from japan of all places? even your high school used to specialise in jujutsu."
"why'd they stop?" you asked curiously.
"cultural diversity," satoru answered easily.
"hey," megumi had voiced firmly, his voice cutting across the tense conversation.
satoru's eyes had flitted to his through the mirror, brow raised expectantly.
"you okay, megumi?"
as they continued to converse, you glanced down at yuji and listened to the soft breaths he let out, shuffling uncomfortably. your lips in a straight line, you brushed his hair out of his eyes in disgust. if the fear of sukuna being behind those closed lids hadn't been looming over you, you would not have put up such a fuss: yuji was a peaceful sleeper.
"i don't want you to tell my mom about this," said megumi, his brows knitted together in annoyed certainty.
satoru hummed, looking all too pleased with himself. "you asking me for a favour?" he responded, sounding both smug and curious at the same time.
there was a slight pause, the sounds of yuji's quiet snores and the movement of vehicles outside of the one you had been sitting in filled the space.
"yes," said megumi, and when you turned to glance at him, you found that he looked quite serious (more so than usual).
satoru's smile stretched wider, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he leaned back in his seat.
"a special request from my precious student?" he teased, his voice dripping with playful mockery. at megumi's scowl, satoru's grin only grew, his usual confidence turning into something almost mischievous, as if he'd just caught megumi in a rare, vulnerable moment, but there was a glint in his eyes that suggested a certain pride in knowing that megumi had some form of trust in him — albeit reluctantly. "consider it done! my lips are sealed. you're gonna have to come up with a story for that ankle though."
nobara sat up as satoru had begun entering her neighbourhood.
"ugh, my mom too," she said, sounding desperate. "she probably wouldn't believe you anyway, but she'd find a way to try and get 'compensation' for my non-existent 'trauma' or something... you know how she is..."
you did know how nobara's mom was: a nice woman, who cared deeply about her daughters, but had a hunger for money that even toji could not compete with.
and satoru knew that like no one else...
"yeah, you've got nothing to worry about, i'm not going anywhere near that woman," he grumbled, before shooting the girl sitting next to him with a glance that was meant to be apologetic, but looked like anything but. "no offence, nobara."
"none taken," she sighed, for all of you knew how her mother would shamelessly flirt with the white-haired male for his money. it was both amusing and disgusting to watch (satoru found it horrifying, even if he did seem flattered the first time around).
then, his eyes flicked to you in the rearview mirror, catching your gaze with a certain glint of amusement. he studied you for a moment, his expression unreadable, before his lips curled into a smirk and he shifted in his seat, clearly enjoying the unease he was about to stir like the man-child he was.
"you're not gonna ask me to keep it from m/n?"
you stared at him, deadpanned. "she literally would not care."
"fair point," he nodded. "what about your dad?"
"the signal in antarctica is bad," you responded easily. "and also, don't stress that man out. he already has to deal with angry polar bears."
there was a challenge in satoru's gaze, as if he found amusement in seeing how you'd react, how you'd handle the weight of being almost blackmailed by him.
"didn't know you were such a snitch," you commented sourly. "well... snitches get stitches."
"you're gonna need stitches with that mark on your forehead," said satoru, and your hand had instinctively reached up to rub at your head where sukuna had hit you.
"it's fine 'cause megumi's gonna snitch me up."
"no i won't."
"what the hell, porcupine?"
"let me get this straight," satoru interrupted, preventing another round of arguments between you and the grumpy boy sitting next to you, "you kids have been dealing with ryomen sukuna for an entire year and didn't think to tell anyone?"
"how was that conversation meant to go?" said nobara, before her voice raised an octave as she continued. "'hey, mrs itadori! we need help 'cause your son gets possessed by an ancient demon every month on the twenty-ninth and has the literal potential to kill anything in its vicinity!' i mean, who would believe us?"
satoru gawked. "me!"
"yeah..." she said, looking exhausted, "that's not a good thing..."
satoru continued as though he hadn't heard her. "you guys messed around with a ouija board, but i'm the reckless one."
"i have a headache," you groaned, rubbing your temple with a pained expression.
megumi glanced down at his injured ankle, wincing slightly as he flexed it before settling into a frown. his gaze shifted towards you, a scowl forming on his face as though silently reminding you that he had the worse end of this ordeal.
he shifted uncomfortably, clearly still irked about your late arrival and the chaos it had unleashed, not that he planned on voicing that at all.
"that's karma for all those people you lied to about evil entities," said megumi, watching as you sneered at him.
"that was different though!" you declared heatedly. it wasn't like those people from kindergarten would even remember that anyway.
satoru looked back at the both of you as he eased the car into a smooth stop outside nobara's house, a compact, modern two-story home with clean, angular lines and a white-and-grey facade. a narrow path of neatly arranged stone tiles led from the sidewalk to a red-painted front door, framed by simple black lanterns. potted plants flanked the entrance, adding a small touch of warmth to the otherwise minimalistic exterior, while a lone bicycle leaned against the side of the porch. it was nobara's, you silently noticed.
"why was that different?" satoru asked curiously.
you had pulled megumi's ear for his response:
"sukuna hates her."
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・
megumi found himself seated before his mother in the living room, her figure covering the television behind her, arms folded over her chest.
"you injured your ankle," she began, kind eyes narrowed in suspicion, "by being slammed into during football?"
megumi nodded.
you weren't around, so it would be easier to keep up the act without worrying about pinching your side and silencing you when your lies went too far.
she did not look convinced; megumi remained unsurprised at that. she had always been harder to fool than his father, and called it a sixth sense that, according to her, all mothers had.
"megumi," she sighed, brows contorted in concern. it made him feel bad for lying, but also reminded himself of the fact that she'd be overwhelmed in fit of worry if she ever knew the true reason his ankle had ended up swollen. "this is the, what, third time this has happened now? was it by... what's his name...? todo? was it him?"
it obviously wasn't, but megumi believed that to be a good excuse to go with.
he nodded again; she sighed again.
"the first and second time, i can understand, accidents happen," she said, replacing the bag of peas that she'd kept on megumi's ankle (perched on the coffee table) with another frozen set. the first had become warm now. "but a third time? i'm starting to think he has it out for you."
that wouldn't be against the truth at all, megumi mentally decided to himself with furrowed brows.
he watched as she handled the bag of warm peas with a pout pulling at her lips. it had been times like these that he wished she wasn't so concerned all the time, for it would make lying a whole lot easier.
"can i watch tv now?" he asked, sounding a little more dismissive than he initially intended.
she raised her brows at him.
"you're making a face, megumi," she responded, easily avoiding the question.
megumi had made a move to frown, but found that he had already been doing it.
he silently cursed himself.
"i'm not," he mumbled, averting his gaze and trying to get a good glance at the ice hockey game playing behind her. she only moved her head where his eyes went, pressing.
"you are," she said, smiling. "if y/n was here, she'd agree. ah, where is she anyway? i feel like it's been years since i've seen you two in the same room."
"friday —"
"aside from friday dinners," she cut across him with a raised brow.
without meaning to, he found his face mindlessly deepening his default scowl. he immediately softened his expression, but it had been too late, she'd already spotted it.
"there it is!" she pointed at him, accusatory. "what's got my son in a mood?"
megumi tried his hardest to maintain a neutral expression, but it proved to be more difficult than he expected.
her eyes never did not leave his face as she crossed the short distance between them, watching as he tensed immediately, the scowl slipping away into something more guarded, more composed, as though retreating behind an invisible wall of indifference would make her retreat too.
but she didn't.
instead, she crouched beside him, her hand resting gently on his knee, warm even through the fabric of his jeans. her touch was soft but unrelenting, and the concern in her gaze felt heavier now.
"i'm always like this," he said quietly, she had to lean closer to hear him.
"you've lived under my roof for sixteen years," she responded, brushing his hair out of his eyes. he shook her hand off with an exasperated exhale. "i think i'd know when you're acting different... except for that time that you stole a rabbit even though you know i'm allergic —"
"— mom —" he grumbled.
"— and in my defence, i trusted my son," she continued as though she hadn't heard him, her smile still present. "why are you grumpy?"
"i'm not —"
"do you want me to call your dad?"
he scowled, and this time, he did not try to hide it, for the threat was enough to get him talking. it wasn't the fear of toji being called on him, it was the fact that he did not want to have a heart-to-heart with that man out of anyone.
he'd even prefer satoru to him when it came down to therapy sessions.
his mom pursed her lips at him, her expression grave. "did y/n frame you for disturbing mrs daphne's tea party again?"
"no," said megumi, cringing at the memory. he had still yet to get you back for that — the old ladies at the tea party had slandered his name for things he hadn't even thought of doing. "it's not that."
"but it's something to do with her, isn't it?" she pressed with a gentle smile. and at the way he peered back at her, she went on to explain herself. "you made that cute angry face when i asked where she's been."
"how can someone be cute and angry?"
"you'll know when you have kids of your own —"
"mom."
"i'm only joking, megumi," she said, as she took her hand off his knee and placed it beneath her chin, waiting for him to answer her.
he looked away, jaw clenched as he stared at the far corner of the room, anywhere but at her face, hoping she wouldn't wait for his answer, but he knew her... he knew that she would do exactly that.
megumi let out a slow, frustrated breath, the weight of her patient, unwavering gaze pressing down on him like a vice. he clenched his fists for a moment, the tension winding tight in his shoulders before he felt it unravel in resignation. there was no escaping her persistence — not when she had already pieced together more than he was willing to admit. she would wait him out, as always, and the battle of wills would inevitably end with him surrendering, he could tell.
reluctantly, he eased the tight set of his jaw and prepared to give in, knowing there was no point in dragging it out any longer:
"we're both really busy," he admitted, abashed. he was also simultaneously trying to find a way to explain his problem without revealing too much about how your absence had indirectly caused such trouble with sukuna. "i see yuji and nobara in classes. or in between classes. but not — stop staring at me — not y/n."
she hummed. "she lives right across from us," she reminded him thoughtfully. "why don't you go over there now?"
"don't want to right now," he shrugged, and even though, to an outsider, it would sound like he didn't want to see you out of spite, he knew that his mom knew what he meant: you'd just seen each other, both of you had still got mountains of homework to complete. "i'd get distracted. we still have a lot of school work to complete. she has to rehearse her lines for her next play."
he did not mention how you were spending more time with an outsider nowadays than with him. after all, that wasn't what bothered him that much.
it was more about the fact that said person was supposedly interested in his sister, but was spotted with you every other day.
or, that was what megumi had kept replaying like a mantra in his head. he wasn't too sure whether he had successfully convinced himself yet.
"a little time apart doesn't mean anything, megumi," his mom laughed, her voice soothing as he peered back at her expectantly. perhaps her advice was necessary. perhaps he ought to listen. "that time she showed me your timetables at the beginning of the school year, i wasn't worried in the slightest."
megumi remained silent as she went on, for he was starting to really pay attention to her.
"you guys have — what was it? — english together?"
"math," he corrected, trying not to sound bitter, but it must have seeped into his voice because she chuckled as she went on.
"math," she nodded, smiling again. "only math, right? ... you two have remained friends, best friends — don't make that face, you silly boy, you know it's true — you two have been best friends since you were in kindergarten! not many people can say the same, you know? your friendship won't end just because you spend less time in class together."
he knew that, he had concluded to himself. he knew that that wasn't his concern.
how could he figure out what he was so annoyed about if he was unable to fully communicate the whole truth with sukuna, your lateness, etc?
he'd have to tiptoe around the topic.
"what's on your mind?" she asked, and he cursed himself for making his discomfort so obvious.
"you're saying everything would still be the same," he started slowly, unsure whether he'd regret where he was going with this if he completed his sentence, "even if we're friends with other people."
his mother's gaze softened, but her expression remained unreadable, the kind of calm that always left him unsure whether he'd stepped too far or not far enough.
she studied him quietly, her eyes searching his face as though piecing together a puzzle only she could see. the silence stretched just long enough to make him shift uncomfortably, his fingers tapping restlessly against the arm of the couch.
before finally...
she nodded, a slow, thoughtful motion, her lips pressing together in a way that felt both understanding and reserved.
"exactly," she said, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "she makes friends with everyone. she's friends with the... dark-haired child... the one with the side bangs —"
"the emo kid," said megumi, blunt. "malakai."
"megumi," she said firmly, her tone scolding but not unkind. "but yes, him. and don't you go around calling him that."
she smiled at him then, her eyes crinkling warmly at the corners as she leaned back into the couch. her relaxed posture made him feel slightly less on edge, though a flicker of grumpiness still lingered within him, but it was tame, nothing like it had been earlier back at yuji's.
megumi noticed the gentle rise and fall of her shoulders as she breathed, the way her face always seemed to soften when she looked at him. the familiar scent of her jasmine tea filled the space between them, calming in a way that made him feel understood even when words failed.
"smile, megumi," she teased, her voice light and coaxing, but he remained stubbornly impassive, his lips refusing to budge.
she sighed playfully, shaking her head before leaning forwards again, her fingers curling into a mischievous grin.
with another soft chuckle, she placed her pointer fingers on each corner of his mouth, gently tugging his cheeks upwards.
"there you go," she murmured, her grin matching the exaggerated one she had crafted on his face. "see? it's not so bad, you should do it more often!"
he let out a resigned sigh, his eyes half-lidded, but beneath his feigned annoyance, a trace of warmth began to settle in his chest.
her eyes had grown distant, gazing at something behind him. it was when she'd removed her fingers from his face, did he know what — or rather, who — she'd been staring at.
"toji, why are you just standing there?" she asked, her tone playful.
megumi didn't need to turn his head to know his father was simply lingering. when it came to his mother, there was a rare stillness in his posture — a quiet reverence — as if he were gazing at a masterpiece, a painting too precious to touch.
"he doesn't know how to smile because of you," she jokingly accused him, standing up, "so you need to smile too!"
toji averted his gaze, silently unwilling.
she shook her head at him, raising her arms to present her pointer fingers.
"i'll make you smile," she warned him.
"run, dad," megumi grumpily muttered from where he was seated on the couch.
the older man turned away with furrowed brows.
"don't gotta tell me twice," megumi heard him grumble, followed by his mother's rhythmic laughter.

bonus scene:
there were many things mrs fushiguro had seen in the short time she'd been married to toji for.
she'd seen him yell (never at her), she'd seen him fight (never with her), and she'd seen him curse (never to her).
but she had never seen him in such a fit of rage, that he could only fold his muscly arms over his chest and resort to a quiet stillness, choosing tense tranquility over violence.
although, the way his jaw clenched had said otherwise.
she sat on the arm of the long couch as he stared down the lineup that started with a scowling suguru, a frowning satoru, a glaring megumi, and a blissfully unaware you.
honestly, she thought this was a bit much. you and megumi were barely even seven. so what if you had blindly followed the older two in believing that toji was cheating on her? you were kids. being influenced by older people was natural.
apologies were necessary, she understood that much, but lining each of you up with apology letters like you were part of some military?
that was a lot.
toji started off with the young man who had his hair in a dishevelled man-bun. dishevelled, for toji had shaken both him and his best friend till she had stepped in to stop him.
"go," her husband demanded.
suguru was halfway between rolling his eyes before he caught the sharp glare the buff man before him sent.
"i'm sorry for accusing you of cheating on your wife," he said, looking down at his lined sheet of paper with exhaustion. he then looked up and began improving. "and i also apologise on behalf of the people whose apology letters won't be any good —"
"dude," satoru interrupted, looking offended. the sight only made her smile, especially when her eyes moved down the line and you and megumi had been sporting the exact same expression, the three of you collectively staring at suguru in disgust. "the hell are you implying?"
"you apology letter is literally blank, satoru —"
"— i like to improv!"
"shut up!" toji snapped, taking everyone by surprise. "both o' you." he glanced at suguru with narrowed eyes. "whatever, you're done, monkey."
megumi's mom found herself watching with interest as suguru gritted his teeth. she still did not understand what the hatred for monkeys was about.
"you —" toji continued, glaring at satoru, who was scratching the back of his neck, looking confused. "you're next."
this would be interesting...
she watched as satoru cleared his throat with theatrical flair, holding up his paper as if preparing for a grand speech. he scanned the page, squinting at god-knows-what, seeing as she (and everyone else in the room) had been well aware that the paper was blank, before glancing at toji, whose glare grew sharper by the second.
and under the crushing weight of that look, satoru's bravado faltered. his fingers crumpled the paper into a ball with a slow, deliberate motion.
tossing it aside, he straightened up, forcing a grin as he placed one hand over his heart.
"toji fushiguro," he began with exaggerated sincerity, "i deeply regret the events of today, and i humbly offer my —"
"you little shit —" toji growled, his eyes narrowing further.
satoru's grin stiffened. "right. sorry. freestyling it is."
if his glasses had been taken off indoors, she would have been able to read his real thoughts through his eyes. instead, she was made to sit back and guess, watching the events play out before her like a sitcom.
it was unpredictable.
especially when it came to her husband and the godfather of their son.
"i'm... sorry."
toji was not happy with that:
"for?" he pressed, head tilted expectantly.
satoru shot him a disgusted look:
"the hell you mean 'for'? i apologised —"
toji turned to look back at his wife with a scary level of calmness.
"i'm holding myself back —" he told her through gritted teeth.
"okay, toji —" she began, trying to be the peacemaker but failing miserably.
satoru let out a loud groan, running a hand through his hair tiredly.
"fine," he said, exasperated. "i'm sorry... for accusing you of cheating on this gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, breathtaking, ethereal —"
toji instinctively stepped forward. "you tryin' to take my wife?"
"no," satoru scowled, "i'mmarried —"
"he's not," suguru coughed.
satoru recoiled dramatically. "whose side are you even on?"
toji clenched his jaw, his patience wearing thin as satoru's antics grated on his nerves. his eyes had darkened with a sharp, warning glare, fists curling at his sides as if holding himself back from throwing a punch.
his wife watched as the tension radiated from him like heat, his broad frame stiffening as he muttered under his breath about what he'd do if satoru kept running his mouth.
"anyway, i'm sorry for accusing you of cheating on her... not that you could find anyone better," satoru continued, his left dimple becoming more prominent the longer he grinned. "she's gorgeous. she's amazing. you hit the jackpot with her —"
"erm... thank you, satoru?" she smiled, visibly and audibly confused. "i... don't know if i should take that as a compliment, or..?"
"it's a compliment!" satoru assured her, his grin toothy and bright. "from the first most handsome person in the world to the second prettiest in the world."
"what the—" toji began, looking disgusted. he grunted, looking down at his own son with a glare. "fine. megumi —"
megumi looked up at his dad with a scowl. his mom could only bite back a laugh at his expression, a carbon copy of the man she married.
"— i didn't do anything wrong," he snapped.
stubborn like him, too.
toji took a deep breath in, and everyone in the room glanced at megumi, expectant.
but megumi had seemed firm on his stance, stagnant, no chance of moving. you were staring at him like he'd grown two heads.
she should have seen this coming, to be fair. unlike everybody else, megumi had not been holding an apology letter to begin with.
"if you don't start apologising, now, boy," toji threatened, his fists clenched.
perhaps now was a good time to step in:
"toji, he's just a —"
"smart brat is what he is," he interrupted grumpily, glaring down at his son. "apologise."
megumi let out a long, exaggerated sigh, the weight of frustration pressing his small shoulders down as if the air itself had turned heavy. his dark eyes slid shut briefly, and when he opened them again, they were filled with a mix of irritation and reluctant obedience, a reflection of his father's unrelenting will.
the sigh wasn't just a breath, his mom noticed with an apologetic glance — it was the embodiment of every ounce of exasperation he felt, a drawn-out gesture that spoke louder than words, as though he were releasing the burden of dealing with his family's antics all at once.
"fine," he grumbled, taking her by surprise. it usually took a bit more probing before megumi was made to bend at anyone's will. "i'm sorry for following them around even though i didn't do anything wrong."
"YOU —"
"my turn!" you beamed excitedly.
"oh here we go," satoru mumbled under his breath, being shot a warning glance by the woman shifting on the arm of the couch, her brows furrowed.
toji regarded a glaring megumi with one irate look — one that read 'this isn't finished' — before glancing down at you, the glittery strap of one of your sandals left undone like the messy child you were.
where toji found it to be a headache, his wife found it cute. she'd always wanted a girl at some point in her life.
"okay, so!" you began, clearing your throat dramatically. your little fingers had clenched your apology letter hard enough to crease every part you touched.
you took a deep breath in, before noticing all the eyes that had been placed on you, and then began looking around anxiously, as though everyone was staring at something behind you instead.
"what's the delay?" toji grunted, impatient.
"everyone's keeping on — everyone's keeping on looking at me!" you said, fidgeting where you stood.
"it's 'keeps on'," megumi corrected you icily.
"you better shut your mouth," toji started on him, only pausing when his wife scolded him for toeing the line that determined what was too far and what was not.
"it's — it's fine!" you smiled, your baby cheeks looking soft enough to squish. she had to refrain from doing so. you were in the middle of your apology, after all. "i'm gonna just close my eyes!"
and so you did.
you closed your eyes, your hands still clutching the sheet you were meant to be reading from, before you realised your mistake.
"'m sorry for... er..." you hesitated, your brows furrowed with how tight you had closed your lids. "wait! where did my apolology letter go?"
"'apology'," megumi had corrected yet again.
satoru snorted. "open your eyes, genius — ow!"
suguru had kicked his foot.
"y/n, honey, open your eyes," mrs fushiguro told you politely.
"that's what i just sai— ow, suguru, cut it out!"
with a deep breath, you opened your eyes and glanced down.
realisation had dawned as you spotted the crumpled apology letter clenched tightly in your small hands. a sheepish laugh escaped your lips, soft and warm, as if even you couldn't believe your own antics.
toji groaned in growing impatience, rubbing his temple with an exaggerated sigh that only made the moment funnier to his wife, who had hid her smile behind her hand, trying to maintain decorum for your sake.
determined, you squared your shoulders and lifted your chin.
"i know what to do!" you declared brightly, clutching the letter with newfound resolve. "i'm just — i'm just gonna turn around 'cause no one will see me!"
without waiting for anyone's input, you spun on your heels to face the television, ready to deliver your heartfelt apology with dramatic flair and a focus all your own.
only to be submerged by a fit of giggles, turning around with a wide grin.
"what now?" toji snapped angrily.
"turning around — turning around is so funny!" you laughed, before choking on your own laughter at the grave expression on the older man's face. "okay, okay! calm down... angry man!"
you finally started on your apology.
only for it to go absolutely no where...
in other words (she hated to admit it) but the same reaction satoru had been scolded for earlier was the same one that was found to be right.
you were talking just for the sake of talking, the apology going no where...
"i'm sorry," you started, eyes drifting down your lined paper, "that i — that i listened to the two old mans next to — next to megumi fushigo right now. my mommy says to listen to older people! so — so i listened to older people! but, toji the angry man says that — that he will crush satoru and suguru like a ladybug! and even though my mommy says i like ladybugs, i don't want to keeping on being shouted to! so now i have to say sorry because i have to be safe from toji the angry man —"
"right, that's enough," toji growled, waving a hand at you.
it seemed that just like his wife, he did not seem to know what to make of this apology.
all he knew was that you talked way too much.
"her mouth moves before her brain does," he said, turning to his wife who sent him a sharp look, one that easily translated to 'be nice!'.
"my — my mommy says —"
suguru leaned closer to his best friend. "either she's a serial liar, or her mom's been lobotomised."
"can i leave now?" asked megumi, looking past his dad and at his mom for her approval.
but before she could respond, toji leaned forwards with a casual grin that didn't quite reach his eyes, cutting off her words before they could form, but there was a sharpness in his movement, like a blade waiting to strike.
"no," he said, his darting from you to satoru and back again. "no, i'm not satisfied yet. this bastard's still grinning —"
you turned to megumi with a frown. "what's a bastard?"
his mom stood up almost immediately, but megumi had already begun his explanation:
"when a man and his mistress —"
"megumi!" she interrupted, alert.
the two of you looked up at her, one of you wide-eyed, the other with narrowed ones. she hurriedly ushered her son away from you, glancing at toji, suguru, and satoru all the while.
"well this has been nice," she mumbled, trying to smile despite her slight irritation towards this entire ordeal, "and i appreciate the apologies, but toji, let's wrap this up now.
toji's eyes lit up with a glimmer of mischief, his grin spreading slowly as though a particularly devious idea had just taken root in his mind. his gaze flickered between satoru and you, and the sharp arch of his brow hinted at a plan already forming, a dangerous sort of amusement playing at the corners of his mouth as he leaned back slightly, the picture of a man who had just found the perfect way to make things even more chaotic — and far more entertaining — for his own amusement.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・
the door had clicked shut behind him with an ominous finality, and satoru stared at it in horrified disbelief, hands pressed flat against the wooden surface as if sheer willpower could force it open again.
his shoulders sagged with defeat as your voice filled the small, stifling space, a rapid-fire stream of chatter that had no clear beginning or end. you were halfway through a story about some incident involving your dad, a rogue basketball, and uncle ogi's furious tirade, and satoru groaned quietly.
his fingers twitched at his temples as if rubbing them would make it stop. he glanced at you, half-distraught, half-bewildered, mouthing a silent help me to the empty room, realising there would be no escape.
"— and my mommy says we're just keeping on staying here!" you added at last.
but you weren't done; you tugged at the fabric of his jeans.
"wanna play i spy with my little eye?"
he banged on the door angrily.
"get me out of here!" he begged desperately, and when you had gone on a long tangent about why every single grey-haired person on the planet was a long lost relative of satoru's, satoru found himself nearly detaching the door knob.
"i will break this door down!" he threatened loudly.
but the only sounds that could be heard behind it were the calm chatter between the fushiguros, and the little fushiguro who had settled on sitting against the other side of the door to correct your english where necessary.
even suguru had left him behind (which he should have seen coming, ever since the kfc incident).
satoru would never accuse toji of cheating on his wife ever again.

a/n: it’s been a bit since I last posted a ff but here goes nothing I guess ;-; feel free to send me any requests and maybe I’ll post more - inspired because im seeing Bryson this weekend <3
readers pov
You take a step back in front of the mirror in your shared dorm with your roommates Azzi and Kamorea. You had on a lacy, black corset and a tight black leather skirt and a pair of those cute heels, that have the pretty strings going up your leg- also black. You may ask, what’s the occasion? Well, you’re going to your first concert. As roommates, you got lucky since both Azzi and KK know how to do hair and makeup, which you weren’t gifted with. But, you had all the cute clothes, so you all helped each other out, and honestly - who knew a bunch of college basketball girls could look so hot because you guys really did look good.
“I am so glad we convinced you to come along with us y/n because you look so fucking good.”, Azzi says, taking a picture of the three of you in the mirror. KK hummed in agreement before getting the shot glasses and setting them on your dresser. “Okay, how about we do three here and we can have some in the car ride there.”, you say and the girls were far from opposed. You didn’t want to get too far gone, especially since this is a concert to remember. You loved rnb music a lot, it was your favorite genre - making Bryson Tiller one of your top artists.
You all finish your shots, taking a few more photos together and you run to your uber that you ordered a few minutes prior. “No way.”, you say in the car - staring at a message on your phone. You had posted a picture of your fit on your story on Instagram, with some text saying “bryson tn <3”.  Not only did your crush like the story, but she had responded to your story too.
pbuecketz
hey, didn’t know yall were going to the concert tn, you should’ve told us
                                                                                                                               st3rg1rl (y/n)
who’s us?

me, ice, nika, and aubrey
let’s meet, it’s all floor tickets anyways
Your roommates take your phone and read over the short conversation. “Yeah we knew Paige was coming, but if we told you, we knew you wouldn’t-”, KK started, before stopping to watch you down the small plastic bottle you had filled with soju.
If Paige was going to be here and you looked this good, you couldn’t waste it being in your head. You had to shoot your shot. Liquid confidence can’t hurt anyone. Maybe that’s just the alcohol speaking. Your thoughts are silenced when the uber driver pulled up, a full block from the venue, like you had requested.
You all quickly thank the driver and get out, drinking the last of the small bottles of alcohol you brought, fixing your clothes and checking your makeup.
The walk to the venue was nice, it was a cool night and since it’s May, it’s not too hot but during the evenings it’s the perfect temperature. Azzi teases you about Paige, showing you her stories on instagram with her fits - since you refused to look at them. “AZZI, STOP SPOILING THE GOODS”, you say to her, flipping her off. Getting into the venue was fine, you showed your tickets and ID since there was a bar. You all knew this prior to arriving, but why pay for overpriced water downed alcohol when you could just pre-game. But the pre-game has gotten to your small group of friends, since you all were smiley, giggly and not making much coherent sense. At security when checking in, you all tried your best to be the mature adults you were.
It was a bit early, 8:17 pm and the event didn’t start until 8:30. You drag your girls to the bathroom, and ask for a pep talk. “Y/n, you’ve liked her for 3 fucking years, if you don’t do something about it then it’s your own fault.”, Azzi tells you, rubbing your arm. “You look hot, Paige would have to be straight as a fucking ruler if she doesn’t have her eyes on you the whole night.”, KK tells you and you look in the mirror and fix your lip liner.
“You’re Y/n, uconns second best player, right behind Paige. You look hot tonight, and you can do this.”, you mumble to yourself as you follow your girls out the bathroom and the find some of your other teammates and you all find a good place, near the stage.
“You look way better tonight in person, your story didn’t do you justice mamas”, the girl you were nervous the entire way to the venue said, standing right in front of you. Something was different tonight, something felt different but you couldn’t put your finger on it - maybe it was the alcohol messing with you again but you go for it.
“If I knew you were coming tonight, I would’ve put some more effort in - you’re a tough girl to impress.”, you respond. It’s true anyways, she was hard to impress. It wasn’t the first time you’ve worn something like this, or just about done anything for her to say something like this.
The concert starts, and the team is taking selfies with each other to capture the moment, and of course KK is on live with Ice and Azzi, streaming the concert and you, Nika, Aubrey and Paige are singing along and taking videos. You glance at Paige, and admire how she looks. She didn’t have to wear much makeup to look so gorgeous, she wore black dress pants and a black crop top, matching your vibe - unintentionally of course. As the concert progresses, you feel the alcohol start to ware off, and though you didn’t want to waste money at the bar, you end up going to the back and getting a drink. You still had to shoot your shot, which you still had no clue what you were going to do.
Then it hits you, you knew what to do. You get another quick shot of soju, down it and make your way back to your friends. “Hey guys, I gotta use the bathroom anyone wanna come with.” you say to them, and luck is on your side because the very girls at the concert with you all know about your 3 year crush on Paige, and they let her answer. “Yeah, I gotta go too.”, Paige says, grabbing your hand and pulling you through the crowd.
Azzi and KK shoot you a look as you get dragged through the crowd and you feel your face heat up. When the two of you get to the bathroom, Paige actually goes to the bathroom and you bend over slightly over the counter and fix your eyeliner. Nodding along with the music, mouthing the words, Paige comes out of the stall, and you can see her checking you out.
Perhaps, you might have bent over slightly more - of course you won’t admit it but this has to work somehow. Paige washes her hands and then sits on the counter. It’s just you two in the bathroom, so quiet enough to have a conversation over the loud music from behind the door.
“I didn’t know you liked Bryson.”, Paige says, watching you reapply your lip gloss. “I could say the same thing about you Paige, don’t you mostly listen to gospel?”, you say to her, teasing - you are familiar with her music taste since she often has aux at practice. “Hey, don’t even start, you listen to Taylor Swift.”, she says, laughing but not taking her eyes off of you. “Paige, stop doing that.”, you say, getting frustrated at her. For 3 full years you’ve liked this girl, and she’s never noticed and it’s quite obvious. From all the cookies you’ve baked for the girl, the light night calls while playing fortnite, the ice cream cheer ups after a rough game, you spent a lot of time with her, just her.
“Doing what.”, she says, getting off the counter and facing you. Usually, you wouldn’t be able to be so honest but it came so easily when you’ve drank over your limit. “Come on Paige, I like you and you act like you could care less. It’s painfully obvious, but you’d rather keep me on the back burner right? You’d rather be in my arms crying over a girl you’ve got too close too who was supposed to be a casual hookup, countless of times, then even give me a fucking try.”, you say to her, your voice not even wavering at the accusation that just spilled from your lips. Paige reaches for your hips, pulling you closer and not letting her hands falter, but just rub small circles on the bone. “Y/n, you know it’s not like that.”, she says, avoiding eye contact.
“No but it is Paigey, it really is and I can’t keep waiting for something you won’t even acknowledge, let alone for something to happen.”, you say, resting your forehead on hers.”Y/n, I mean it, it’s not like that.”, Paige says, in almost a whisper. “Then what is it like,”, you say in return. You take a step back, and a deep breath. Preparing yourself for the answer you’ve waited years for. “Y/n, you’re like this super talented athlete, who spends all of her time devoted to her school and her sport and I am here just as this girl who just sleeps in others beds every other night and yeah, I’m fucking good at basketball too. But to you it comes effortlessly, and you know what you want, you have this big plan for your future of everything. Down to the name you want your fucking cats when you graduate. You deserve more than me.”, Paige says to you, her voice breaking and her back against the counter.
“One try, okay? Give me one try, and I can show you why you are what I deserve. You are so gifted and your sport will take you places. Sure you do have some labels at school, but those don’t reflect the Paigey I know, the real you.”, you tell her, suddenly feeling bad for the ambush. You reach over for her hands, and hold them gently before placing soft kisses on them.
“I only fucked all those other girls to try and get over you y/n, it wasn’t me crying over the fact I got too close to any of them, it’s just none of them were you.”, Paige confesses to you and all you can do is bring her into a hug. The answer you were so scared to hear all this time, it was so simple. Maybe this could’ve been easier, if you said something sooner.
The two of you return back to your group of friends, holding hands and you enjoy the rest of the concert. You all take photos for Instagram and call ubers to get home. “Guys, lets all sleep over at Aubrey’s and Paige’s.”, KK says, and the team all agrees but you get on your tippy toes, and whisper to Paige, “I want some time with you alone tonight if it’s alright.” She nods her head, trying to not make anything obvious as the group was walking to the door. You call a separate uber, and as everyone else is getting in the cars called a bit earlier, Paige says, “Hey, Y/n had too much to drink, I’ll meet you all at the house, I just want to make sure she gets back okay.”
Of course everyone believes what Paige says, because they knew you were in love with the girl not the other way around. When the two of you arrive at your dorm, you tell her to excuse the mess and she just laughs. “Y/n, trust me you guys could not be anymore messy then me and Aubrey.”, she says, as you walk in. Now that the two of you are finally alone, you pull Paige into a tight hug, feeling her warmth and embracing her smell - a mix of old spice and ariana grande’s cloud perfume. You feel her breathing, slow and deep as she hugs you back. “You good mamas?”, she whispers and you hum in response.
You slowly let go of her, and you make your way to your bed. “Paige, can I ask you something?”, you say to her and show follows you to the bed, sitting right next to you. “What’s on your mind?”, she says, not taking her eyes off of you.
“You know…I haven’t you know. Lost…. Uhm, you know, lost it yet.”, you say to her quickly, avoiding her gaze. She laughs lightly, “Yes, y/n I know that already, what about it?”. “I’ve always wanted it to be you.”, you tell her, bluntly. It’s true, you’ve had offers before, you’ve had people confess to you plenty of times, but you’ve waited for Paige. You needed it to be Paige.
“Yeah, and why is that?”, she say, gently turning your face towards her and leaning in closer. “Because, with you, it’s real.”, is all you can say before giving into the space left between the two of you. You kiss her, and it’s far from what you expected it to be. Her lips tasted like her cherry lip balm, but the kiss itself. It felt so good, and before you know it, Paige is kissing you back needily, and pulling you into her lap, setting her hand on your lower back. You pause to breathe finally, and there is a single string of saliva connecting your lips together. But Paige doesn't waste her time. She moves her hands to your waist, and kisses your neck gently while untying your corset top. “This okay ma?”, she whispers against your skin. “Mhm, Paige I trust you, I want this.”, you tell her. Looking up at you she says, “At any time you want to stop please tell me okay?”, and this is the reason you’ve fallen in love with her in the first place. She is always so gentle and caring with you, and knowing she felt the same way this is what you wanted.
Paige gets off your bed and kneels in front of you, helping you take off your top and pulling down your skirt. Admiringly, she stares at you - as if she’s never seen the body of another woman before. You bend a bit down and kiss her lips, feeling vulnerable to be this naked in front of someone. She returns the kiss and places her hands against your chest, rubbing her thumbs against your nipples and you can’t help but whimper into her mouth quietly. She leaves one of her hands on your chest while the other slowly slides down your bare and cold body, rubbing between your thighs. You widen your thighs because you know you want more, you need more of her. Paige takes the hint and stands up and pushes your back against the bed. Before getting on top of you, she takes off her shirt revealing her defined abs. God… she looked so fucking hot and she isn’t even doing anything. She removes her sports bra and her pants, leaving her just in her boxers. She goes back to appreciating your body, kissing and sucking on every inch of your neck, your collarbones and your breasts. Circling her tongue around your nipples, you feel yourself weaken. You want her to make you feel even better and in a small voice you tell her, “Paige… please just make me feel good.”. Kissing your forehead gently and tucking your hair behind your ears, she moves down and gently rubs between your folds, feeling the slick that’s accumulated from her previous advances. It’s clear how needy you were for her and it was embarrassing to you.
But Paige made it known it turned her on because she groans at the sight of your wetness coating her fingers, she takes her own boxers off and latches her tongue onto your clit. You are so entranced in the feeling of her sucking on you that it takes you a while to realize that she is using her own fingers, that were wet with your slick, to finger herself while she pleasured you. It was so hot to see, you close your eyes from everything that was presented with you. You feel Paige moan against your dripping wet cunt, wet from your slick and her saliva. You get greedy, and want more, yearn for more so you start rolling your hips against her face.
“Oh my fucking god… paige, paige, please, oh my, fuck just like that, please, ah oh my god, keep going.”, was all you could get out as you took one of your hands and collected some of her hair and shove her against your cunt, wanting even more. You’ve touched yourself to your own dirty thoughts of Paige before, but you could never have imagined it was this good. You feel yourself getting closer and closer, and Paige notices too and she takes her own fingers out of herself.
“Sweetheart, can you get on your knees for me please?”, she says, in such a loving tone you felt compelled to not even question what she was going to do. You get up and do as your told, and Paige slides one of her fingers into you, letting you get used to it.
Letting out a few desperate moans, Paige slides a second finger into you knwoing you could take another and begins to curl her fingers up inside you. And that is what just about does it for you. “Oh my pretty girl, how does it feel, can you tell me how it feels please angel?”, Paige asks you, using her free hand to caress your waist while her other hand does what only exists in your dirty thoughts and dreams.
“Paigey, oh so good, more please, fuck me more.”, is what you tell her, feeling your face redden even more. You widen your legs, spreading out your ass for her and pull your plushie into your arms. Paige listens to you, wanting it to be the best first time you could ever be given. She shoves three fingers into your throbbing cunt and you moan into your plushie only dirty things. Whispering in your ear, Paige says, “let me hear what I’m doing to you my love, you sound so pretty for me, it’s only right I get to hear.”, and you let out a few more moans, getting louder the harder Paige curls her fingers into you.
It was getting overwhelming, having your wetness drip down your thigh but knowing that Paige was taking care of you so good, just the way you’ve wanted turned you on more. It felt like a dream. Before you know it you’re spurting out cum against Paiges fingers, and she doesn’t waste a minute to lick her fingers and eat you out from behind to get everything. The overstimulation was driving you insane, and Paige removed herself from your cunt, leaving a gentle kiss on it. You lay on your back and Paige is quick to pull you into her arms, and placing the covers over the both of you.
Your forehead is sweaty, making your hair stick to it and Paige tucks your hair behind your ears neatly and kisses your forehead, your cheek and then your lips. “Did I do good for you mama?”, she says, and suddenly the vulnerability you thought only existed in your previously virgin self, you realize she wanted to know if she did good enough for you. “Uh huh, just like I’ve dreamed of, only better.”, you tell her, placing your head against her chest and encapsulating her smell. “I’m so glad I could do that for my girl.”, she tells you and you feel yourself drift off to sleep.
All the previous anxiety of everything that existed between the two of you has gone away and you feel at peace in her arms. You are sure you can prove to her she deserves you, and that you deserve her.

My love, is mine all mine - Max Verstappen x Norris! Reader x Charles Leclerc Part 3
Plot: Norris' Twin sister is also a driver in the 2021 line up and is in her rookie era. Not only do the commentators struggle to now talk about the pair in the race, but they also struggle to talk about talent. What happens when two drivers find her eye-catching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the Charles incident you didn’t really know what to do. The next weeks to come you continued straight on from France into 2 rounds at the Red Bull Ring. Of course everyone was looking to Max for the wins as this was the home for the team.
Practice hadn’t gone well, and it was completely your fault.
You’d gone 12th fastest in FP1, however when your best friend from home surprised you at the track you had the time to confide in her.
You told her all about what had happened with your twin and with Charles and Max. She was just as shocked as you were.
You showed her everywhere while you guys went to get some snacks to bring back to your drivers room.
You ended up bumping into some of the drivers, but the one you stuck around the most was Max, he asked you how you were after the post France fiasco and you’d asked him to drop it.
He ended up changing the conversation to your friend asking who she was and you guys all spoke about that instead which as a delight for you.
Eventually Max needed to go for some kind of Red Bull test, and he left you two to get back to the McLaren Paddock.
You guys gossiped like two little girls until Zac and Nico your race engineer came into your drivers room telling you it was time for FP2.
After having that pep talk from Y/BF/N you went 2nd fastest only 0.3 of a second behind Max himself. You were glowing when you came out the car. Everyone was congratulating you and the McLaren admins were taking pictures and videos of you happily getting out of the car!
However, when you turned your head looking towards the garage entrance you couldn’t see Y/BF/N anywhere. You finished up your media duties, talking about the pace of the car and how your head was clear on the flyers you did in FP2.
You spent ages looking for you friend, you assumed she’d stay in your hotel room with you so you were looking for her all around the track.
You eventually gave up sending her a text instead asking where she was to which she sent a short reply explaining she was back at her own hotel.
You went back to yours, laying awake thinking of qualifying and how tomorrow would go.
You thought you’d have a really good day today, you woke up extra early having a nice hotel breakfast and going to the paddock in a really nice outfit from one of your clothing sponsors Versace.
But when you got the the paddock seeing Y/BF/N kissing Max Verstappen’s cheek you were confused. He handed her the jacket she’d been wearing yesterday and you couldn’t help but think the worst.
You wanted to confront him, but with FP3 coming up you knew it was about time you’d have to get ready so you try to ignore it as much as possible. However it was the only thing on your mind.
Max had been so nice to you in your first season. And you always fell for the nice guys, who turned out to be twats. But you didn’t think he was a twat.
If anything you were more upset at the fact that Y/BF/N had potentially lied to you about where she was, and you didn’t know why she would feel the need to do that.
FP3 was awful, and you went 17th fastest a stark contrast from yesterday. Mick in the Haas was faster than you and if that wasn’t a wake up call you don’t know what was. The only comfort was that your brother was P19, so it wasn’t just a you thing the car wasn’t at peak performance.
Come qualifying your cars performed better, especially Landos where he went all the way to Q3 taking second row in P4. You on the other hand only made it to Q2 and was left starting next to Sebastian Vettel behind Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz. You were hoping the Ferrari could give you a slip stream and you’d be able to move up to go for an overtake on George.
You started off really well, doing exactly as you said. You dived in between Carlos and Yuki, both distracted attacking and defending each other you managed to get ahead.
You stormed through the field overtaking Lance and George consecutively, your gotten yourself to P9, left to take over the Alpine and then make a move on Charles. However, Lance came up too close behind you going into turn 4 your car spinning out because of how he hit you in the side.
The car went straight into the barriers not stopped by the gravel and the car was buried. There was no way for recovery.
"Are you okay Y/N?" Nico asks and where you are so winded you don't reply for a second.
"Y/N are you okay?" Nico asks again, you have a little shake of your head now that you breath is back and not caught before you reply.
"Yes. I'm okay. I don't know what happened i was turning on the inside line and Lance was just in the side of my car and I spun out" you say, looking at your hands waiting for Nico to reply.
"Stewards are reviewing footage now, come back to the garage and we'll see you in medical" Nico says.
You switch everything off chucking the wheel out the car onto the gravel before pulling yourself up over the halo. Lance had managed to continue his race but would need to put for wing damage. You came back with a Marshall to the McLaren garage profusely apologizing to Zac who had come to see you from where he had been sat on the pit wall.
"It's okay Y/N! This is your first DNF, there's no need to worry okay? This wasn't your fault at all!" he tells you rubbing your shoulder. You nod and watch as he shows you the decision made by the stewards. Lance was being made to do a stop and go 10 second penalty.
The race ended with your brother up high in the points making up for your unfortunate end to the race and getting the team the much needed points.
All the post race interviews you were asked about the incident with Lance and whether you were happy with the decision made by the Stewards. You kindly explained that you trusted the FIA in their decision making and the penalty clearly paid off as Lance was kept out of the points.
As Lando had done really well, you agreed to take him out to dinner that night. You'd asked Y/BF/N if she wanted to come but she said she'd be staying at the hotel because something in the McLaren hospitality hade made her sick so she'd be having plain toast at the hotel.
You and Lando dressed up really nice as you were taking him to a fancy restaurant so you didn't have to deal with the agg of the media or fans as the crash had really taken a lot of your energy.
You were seated at a central table one where you both had a view of the whole restaurant which was perfect as you could both people watch and comment on all the funny things people were doing. It was a little past time you and Lando had since you were kids.
Where it was one of the nicest restaurants in Austria, you guys saw some of the other drivers. Lewis, Sebastian and Valterri came in, and sat 4 tables down from you both, then Charles and Pierre came in together and sat in the seats behind you.
You were just served your starter when you looked up to thank the waitress, when your eyes locked on Max Verstappen walking in with Y/BF/N.
“Y/BF/N?” You ask in shock, where you ask loud enough for them to hear both their attention is now on you and the rest of the people sitting in your vicinity also look up.
“I thought you said you were to sick to come celebrate with Lando and I?” You ask offended that she’d ditched your for someone else and not told you, you wouldn’t have had a problem if she’d told you.
Not only that but it irked you she was with Max and you didn’t know why.
Did this mean that she had in fact been with Max when she said she was in her own hotel room? Did she even have a room?
“What are you guys doing here?” She laughs awkwardly before looking up at Max who now looks like a deer caught in headlights.
“I told me Lando and I were going out for dinner, to celebrate?” You say as if trying to jog her memory.
“Yeah but let’s be for real it’s you and Lando, I would expect your celebratory meal to be McDonalds and class it as cheat day for your insane diet!” She exclaims making you recoil a little.
“Is that why you said no? Because you didn’t think we’d take you someone nice, so you went with the person that had the better offer?” You ask looking up at Max who was trying to avoid all eye contact by looking everywhere but you.
You couldn’t believe it, was your childhood best friend about to admit she was only your friend for the money?
“Y/N that came out wrong. Looks let’s just enjoy our nights out, and we can talk about this on the plane home tomorrow!” She offers reaching a hand out to you.
“Im not going home tomorrow, I have another race here next weekend. Me and Lando are staying here because it’s cheaper. I told you that the other day” you voice before going back to sit down with Lando and enjoy your meal.
The hostess guides them to the other side of the restaurant, as they didn’t want any more disturbances so both Max and Y/BF/N are out of sight.
“Hey are you okay?” You hear from behind you making you turn round to see Charles turned round on his booth seat looking at you, Pierre also sending you a kind smile.
“Im fine, why wouldn’t I be” you smile but it really is the furthest thing from the truth.
You try to enjoy your night, but it’s constantly playing on the back of your mind.

warnings: minor injuries, vulgar language
author's note: okayyy, i know i said this was fluff & the warnings seem otherwise, but i swear there's fluff!!
_____________
matt breathed in deeply, looking at himself in the mirror before muttering, "final game of the season, you got this."
"stay calm." he added on, knowing that every time he was on the court he would get a little crazy.
but it's not like it was his fault, the referees were just blind as hell and didn't even know the difference between pivoting with the ball and traveling.
or maybe it was him. whatever, even if it was he wouldn't dare to admit it.
"hurry up, boys! gotta get you kids out there for some warm-ups," coach yelled, his voice echoing off the walls of the locker room.
matt sighed, closing his eyes and taking one more deep breath before throwing his jersey on.
04, under the number was the name of his school, WESTFIELD HS.
"matt!" chris's voice broke the brunette boy out of his trance, looking over his shoulder before turning around fully to look at his brother.
matt couldn't help crack a smile at the excited expression on his brothers face, his eyes bright and his smile big.
"what's up?" matt said, running a hand through his hair.
chris straightened our his jersey, number 03, before looking back up at matt and speaking, "oh. nothing, just wanted to check up on you, you nervous?"
matt nodded, "yeah, but i'm still hopeful. the other team isn't all that, either, but we still need to be strong. and aggressive."
chris nodded, his facial expression serious now, "yeah. hey, let's go to the team, give them a pep talk?"
_____________
"bring it in wildcats!" matt called, and the team was quick to get together, chris going over to matt's side immediately.
the players looked around at one another, giving knowing looks and muttering quiet encouragements.
"hey, today isn't any different than our other games. we always come to win, and what do we always do?" matt asked, and the team responded proudly:
"win!"
matt smiled, "yes, exactly! we need to play with energy and sportsmanship, no matter how pissed the other team gets you. and above all, we need to play aggressive and fast." chris nodded at his brother, his eyes scanning his other teammates.
"so, we're gonna play all the basics. 2-3, box, etcetera. now, everybody knows that the other team isn't that good, they've lost a majority of their games this season and the main reason for it was them not being on defense."
matt inhaled deeply, "some of us have a bit of a problem with that, too, so, we need to always, and i mean always be on our man. everybody just goes to the ball and leaves the other team open."
a boy on the team nodded, knowing that the comment was mainly directed to him.
"even if we don't win, we're still the wildcats, and we'll always have our confidence. no matter what." matt encouraged, giving soft smiles to his team.
"preach, matt." chris laughed, earning some smiles from his teammates.
matt rolled his eyes before putting his fist out, leading the whole team to do the same thing, "wildcats on three!"
"1, 2, 3, wildcats!" the team roared, voices echoing off the gym walls as they parted ways, some players going on the bench and some going onto the court.
coach smiled at matt, giving him a thumbs up before matt went to jog on the court.
matt's attention was quickly turned to the crowd on the other side of the court, his eyes immediately landing on you.
you waved, giving him a thumbs up with your free hand as he waved back.
chris was in the middle, his eyes never leaving the ball as the referee raised it in the air.
matt went into his defense position, getting low and in front of a player from the opposing team.
the tension was high as the gym fell silent, only the sound of quiet buzzing from the scoreboard heard.
then, the referee put the whistle to his lips, and blew. he dropped the ball, and chris swiftly smacked it behind the opponent and into his teammates hands.
"let's go wildcats!" was heard from the sidelines, and as matts teammate dribbled the ball up court and shot a lay-up, the crowd erupted in roars and screams.
well, this was gonna be an easy win.
_____________
this wasn't gonna be a very easy win.
matt groaned in frustration as the ref called a foul on him. he hadn't even touched his opponent!
the wildcats and sharks were neck and neck, 30-30, the scoreboard read.
the opponents coach had waited until they were losing by a lot to put in his best players, and now the wildcats were on the brink of losing a game.
"shit," matt muttered as number 08 on the other team ran up the court.
he pushed himself to run with all his strength, and as nunber 08 went to score, matt jumped up to try and block the shot.
number 23 on the opposite team pushed matt with all his strength, sending him flying onto the floor face first.
he landed on face, his knees sliding on the freshly waxed gym floors.
a loud roar of anger was heard from the wildcats, and the whistle blew many times before the gym was shut up.
"fuck, fuck, fuck!" matt groaned in pain, holding his nose as he breathed heavily.
nick, taking the pictures of the basketball team for school, quickly raced down the bleachers and to his brothers aid.
chris did, too, worry evident on his face as he patted matts back, "you're okay, matt, c'mon, get up."
nick helped matt to sit on his butt, carefully grabbing his chin and noticing his bloody nose.
"it's fine, you'll be okay. we're gonna get up on three, alright?"
matt nodded, groaning as he stood up on the count of three.
his knees ached and so did his nose. shit, there was no way he was going to be able to have more playing time.
sure, his teammates were good, but matt was the best player on the team.
nick and chris walked matt to the sidelines, letting him sit down on the bench before nick handed him his water bottle.
"you okay?" chris asked, tilting his head a bit.
matt nodded, his head fuzzy with frustration.
the game went on, and number 23 got benched & fouled. 1 more foul for the sharks and the wildcats would get two free throws.
1 more basket and the wildcats would win.
the game was getting heated, and people the opposing team were screaming at their teammates.
it had only taken a few missed shots from the wildcats to get matt stirred up, and he shot up from his seat, walking to coach with a passion.
"put me in." he demanded, and in any other circumstance, he would've crumbled in fear at the way his coach looked at him.
he cocked an eyebrow, "you're hurt, matt, we can't risk it."
matt grumbled, looking down at his feet as he balled his hands into fists. why not put him in? he was the best player, and the others were clearly not locked in. he needed to be in there.
"put matt in!" you and nick chanted from the bleachers, making the coach and matt himself turn their attention.
the chant caught on quickly with the rest of the wildcats, even the players that were on the court, currently on timeout.
matt smiled sweetly at you, and you just cheered for him, your heart melting at the way he looked at you.
the brunette boy turned back to his coach, not daring to break eye contact again. he took deep breaths, trying to control himself as he asked once more:
"can you put me in, coach? please." he asked, and this time, coach didn't hesitate to nod.
the people controlling the scoreboard wasted no time in subbing out a worse player for matt, and the brunette boy ran onto the court, determined to win.
the game started back up again quickly, and matt was quick to steal the ball when 06 on sharks were passing the ball in.
he ran down the court, his legs burning and his throat dry. the crowd cheered loudly, and so did his teammates.
even over all the other voices, the only one he listened to was yours, you were the only one he cared about.
he jumped up, the ball rolling off his hand and going up into the air.
matt drowned everybody out, his breathing heavy and his legs tired. the ball spun around the rim not once, not twice, but three times before it fell into the basket and dropped to the floor.
matts eyes widened, and he could finally hear everything. cheers erupted from the wildcats and the coach for the sharks threw his clipboard down.
"holy shit. oh my god!" matt yelled, the realization that he had won the game finally hitting him.
you didn't hesitate to scramble off the bleachers and onto the court, wanting to be the first one to speak to him.
you jumped into his arms, almost sending him falling to the floor, but he steadied himself and wrapped his arms around you tightly.
"you won, baby! im so proud of you." you muttered into his shoulder, and he smiled.
"thank you." he whispered.
_____________
matt and you sat at a booth in a local diner, drinking celebratory milkshakes.
you couldn't help but smile as he drank it, putting the cup to his lips before putting it back down, leaving whipped cream on his upper lip.
"what?" he questioned before licking his lips, and you couldn't help but laugh softly.
"nothing. just wanted to look at you. you literally just won the state championships, can i not be proud of you?"
matt smiled softly, hiding his face as he blushed.
"couldn't have done it without my favorite person." he praised, reaching his hand out to yours that was on the table.

obsessed with the idea of driving lessons with Steve or Eddie<3 in Stevie’s car orrr in Eddie’s van! reader being a terrible driver and steve or eddie being to nice to call it out :’)
Thanks for requesting!
Eddie Munson x fem!reader ♡ 1k words
You think you’d feel a bit better if Eddie didn’t keep squeezing his eyes shut. He’d been the one to make the call that you were ready for the highway, promising you a million times that it’d be fine despite your apprehension, but as soon as you’d gotten on the entrance ramp his confidence had seemed to flee him—which isn’t ideal, because he was the only one of you that had any to begin with.
“Eddie.” Your voice pitches, knuckles white on the steering wheel. “The car behind me is getting really close.”
“He’ll go around us,” your boyfriend says without opening his eyes. He takes a breath, cracks an eyelid. “You’ve got it, you’re good. We’re all good. Everything is fine and dandy.”
You wonder how much of this is for you.
You stay there for a while, eyes volleying between your mirrors and the speedometer, until you come upon a car in front of you that can’t be going more than forty. You take your foot off the gas, coasting down to its speed.
“Go around him,” Eddie instructs.
You glance into the next lane, just as a car whooshes past your window. “I can’t,” you say, voice going high.
“You can do it,” he says, though his hand curls around the handlebar above his window. “Just look for an opening, speed up, and change lanes.”
You take a few quick breaths before pushing down on the gas, head whipping around to check your blind spot before you signal and move over. Another car tries to switch lanes at the same time, blaring their horn at you, and you shriek and swerve back into your lane, slamming on the brakes to avoid rear-ending the slow car in front of you.
“Jesus Hendrix Christ,” Eddie hisses. Then, with more pep, “Doing great, baby!”
“I can’t do this!”
“You don’t really have a choice at this point!”
“What?”
“I mean, yeah you can!” Your boyfriend’s nearly wheezing, head on a swivel as he keeps track of the cars around you. “You’re doing awesome.”
“I almost hit someone!” you remind him, voice starting to waver as panicked tears clog your throat.
“Not your fault.” His hand wraps around your thigh, squeezing so the cool metal of his rings bites into your skin. “He didn’t see you either, he was just being a dick about it. You acted fast, which—which is the best thing you could’ve done.”
Your lip wobbles. “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure as shit, baby. Take a breath, okay? Panicking makes you a bad driver.”
“Pretty sure I already am a bad driver,” you say, but do your best to fill your lungs anyway.
“Nah, you’re the best I know.” Eddie’s hand rubs your thigh soothingly, at odds with the tension in his voice. “Not including myself, obviously. But it’s fine, you’re learning.”
You want desperately to take his hand but can’t risk taking one off the wheel. You glance in your rear view mirror, watching cars go around you and the clunker barely trudging along in front of you.
You chew your lip. “Can we be done? I want to get off.”
You think you hear a relieved sigh. “Sure, if that’s what you want,” he says. “Take this next exit.”
Eddie talks you through decelerating back onto the frontage road, helping you change lanes until you start to slow down in the shoulder.
“Don’t pull over here,” he tells you. “There’s a parking lot just after this light.”
You shake your head. “Nope, I’m done. I’m pulling over.”
“But you can’t just—wait, you’ve gotta—” Eddie grimaces as the car tilts, one wheel going up onto the curb. “Okay. Okay, good job.”
“Fuck.” You heave a sigh and move the gearshift while your boyfriend bends to kiss the dashboard, murmuring apologies to his van. “I think I need to start driving in something else, Eds. This van is too hard to learn in.”
“Hey, don’t talk about her like that.” He caresses the dashboard lovingly. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, you were…you had a learning experience. Plus, once you can drive her, you can drive anything.”
“I don’t know.” You lift your foot from the brake, moving to hug your knee to your chest. “I think maybe—”
“Shit,” Eddie says as the van starts to roll backward. “Shit, shit, baby, the gearshift!”
You gasp, setting your foot back on the brake so Eddie can shift the van into park.
“Oh my god.” You drop your head into your hands, breathing heavily. “I can’t even park!”
“It’s—” Eddie’s voice is high, but he clears his throat. “It’s okay, that could happen to anyone. Reverse is, like, right next to park, so…it’s an easy mistake, I guess.”
“I don’t want to drive anymore,” you groan.
“Hey,” he says. “Hey, come here.”
He reaches over and starts to grab for you, but you stop him, lifting your foot from the brake hesitantly. Eddie does you the courtesy of not making fun of you, and when the van doesn’t move you clamber into his lap, setting your chin on his shoulder while his big palms rove your back.
“You’re not so bad,” he says, hair tickling your face as he tilts his head to accommodate you. “It just takes practice. Same for everybody. You want to be able to drive yourself around someday, right?”
You make a noncommittal sound. “Maybe you can just take me wherever I need to go.”
Eddie laughs, hand sliding down your back to pinch your waist. “I’m not available for a cab service at the moment, sweet thing.”
“Mean.”
“You like it when I’m mean to you,” he reminds you.
You wonder if he can feel your cheek heating against his neck. “Only sometimes.”
He huffs amusedly. Wraps a hand around either side of your rib cage, easing you back until he can see you. “You’ll get there,” he says. “We’ve just gotta keep practicing.”
You gnaw on your lip, exhaling through your nose. “Yeah, okay. But can we stay on the ground for now? I don’t think I’m ready for the highway.”
The humor saps from Eddie’s expression. “Yeah,” he agrees, “no more highways for a while.”

❝ baby, take a chance on me! give me one sign and you will see. // crushing on the local barista ❞
✧ feat : xiao x gn!reader
✧ a/n : FIRST POST OF THE YEAR!! yk it had to be my beloved xiao <3 here's to a fourth year with my baby hehe
✧ note : this is a very late entry to ying's cafe week for the prompt americano !
please reblog w tags + leave comments ! it rlly makes my day :)
Tumblr media
“uh, hi. could i please get a…” you flash what you’re certain is the most awkward grin of your life at the poor barista, who’s currently running the cashier as well. you swear you’re never the type to hold up a queue, pondering for ages over what to drink to get – in fact, you always get the exact same drink. it’s just that the way the barista’s pretty amber eyes almost seem to gleam in the late afternoon sun has you stumbling over your words, barely able to form coherent sentences; it’s so embarrassing you wish the ground would open up and swallow you whole, you're lucky there's no one else in the line behind you.
“your usual?” he raises an eyebrow, a few strands of jade hair tumbling out of his loose bun to frame his face, and holy archons this man is such a masterpiece he belongs in a museum. you gape at him for a few seconds, opening and closing your mouth like a goldfish before you realise how stupid you must look and you scramble for a reply, “how do you know?!” the corner of his lips quirk up into what might be a smile, “you order the same drink every time.” you’re fumbling for a retort when he continues, “and you come here three times a day.” now you’re ninety-nine percent certain your face is on fire.
“that’s true…” you mutter sheepishly before making a valiant attempt to defend yourself, “but maybe i just really like coffee!” “i think you drink too much coffee,” he chuckles softly as he writes your name on the cup. you’re freaking out over the fact that what has to be the world’s cutest barista is actually aware of your existence, he recognises you instead of seeing you as just another customer from the endless throngs of students that flock to the campus coffee shop daily. then you gasp, “wait. how do you know my name?!” he lifts an eyebrow once more, “i just told you that you order coffee here three times a day. you say your name every time.” great. now he definitely thinks you’re an idiot. it’s not your fault that all your braincells seem to fly out of your head every time you see him!
“oh.” you laugh weakly as you pull your wallet out of your bag, “that makes sense.” mentally, you’re slamming your head against the wall, cursing yourself for being so head-over-heels that you can’t even carry a normal conversation with the barista. as he types your total, he suddenly murmurs so softly that you have to struggle to catch it, “it’s a pretty name, though.” “o-oh, you think so?” the compliment makes your brain short-circuit, but thankfully you manage a proper response, “i like your name too… xiao.” saying his name out loud almost makes you spontaneously burst into flames, which honestly would be pretty inconvenient for the rest of the customers in the coffee shop. not to mention you doubt it would endear you to xiao if you exploded in the middle of his workplace.
you aren't sure if it's just your imagination, but you think that xiao's ears look a little red as he taps on the screen in front of him. then he clears his throat, “you know what, today's drink is on the house.” “what?! really?!” your eyes light up and xiao meets your gaze for a split second before looking away, the faintest pink tinge dusting his cheeks as he starts making your drink, “yeah.” your heart's beating at a million miles per hour from just this small interaction, but you swallow your nerves and give yourself a pep talk as you wait to receive your drink. you never know unless you try, right?
and as xiao turns to give your drink, you blurt, “icouldtakeyououtonadate!” he blinks slowly, cat-like, and furrows his brow in confusion, “sorry, what did you say?” doing your best not to melt into a puddle on the ground, you mumble, “to make up for the free coffee, i could take you out to lunch or something.” there’s a pause, and you quickly continue, “only if you want to, of course!” you're cursing yourself for even daring to be so bold, there's no way he'd want to go out with a caffeine addict like you- “i'd like that.” his reply is so unexpected you look at him incredulously, “what?” “i said, i’d like to go for lunch with you,” now xiao's face is bright red, and he's gripping your coffee cup so tightly his knuckles are turning white.
at this point, you think that you could jump over the moon. “oh! that's great!” you beam, and xiao thinks that your smile is like the sun, “maybe sunday?” “sure,” he smiles, and it's the most adorable thing you've ever seen, “it's a date.” he turns away after saying that to hide his blush, and with the biggest, cheesiest grin on your face you reply, “yeah, it's a date.”
(and later when you finally drink your coffee, you realise xiao has scribbled his number on the side of the cup. maybe all this time you were crushing on the local barista, he was crushing on you too.)

Random Things About Your Future Spouse | Pick A Pile
Hello and welcome to this Pick A Pile! In here you'll find out some random things about your future spouse you might enjoy. I hope you guys enjoy and find this useful. Do make sure to leave comments down below on your experience! I do want to remind you all that this is a General Pick A Pile which means this is for a lot of people; therefore keep what resonates and leave what doesn't.
Masterpost > Questions > Paid Readings
Pick A Pile!
Tumblr media
Pile 1:
Your future spouse is great in knowing what they want, knowing how to get what they want, and actually do what is needed to get what they want. They are great at making plans and finding the most innovative ways to get to their goal. They don't make things complicated, but they make it enough to leave an impression.
They do have a tendency to think they are always correct in situations because of this. They always analyse every, single thing and rationalize it in their brain for them to understand and make up a solution or a reaction. Because they always think through like that, and not many others do, they often automatically assume they are right when they aren't; although they are able to realize they were wrong when it's told to them.
They have a close circle of friends, although many people are in there. They love to socialize with people and talk about things they had trouble with, or actually enjoyed in their life; they love to listen to stories and others experiences, they find it entertaining and educational.
Pile 2:
Your future spouse is a trouble maker when it comes to making decisions; they make it too difficult for themselves, and everyone around them. They take in so many future possibilities it makes you wonder how many things are even going around in their mind, it must be a maze.
Just like having trouble with making decisions they have many things they'd like to become in life, and like to learn. It might not be farfetched to say they change their hobbies every few months or so because they suddenly thought about something else, or thought about something they had done in the past. Because of this though, they are able to tell tons of fun stories, which can be interesting to listen to.
Something your future spouse posesses, which fits perfectly in the other mentions, is that they have eyes and ears everywhere, they absolutely love to know the drama and opinions of everyone around them. If you want more understanding of a social situation which is happening around you, around them; they'll tell you everything you want to know. They know just enough people to find out all about it.
Pile 3:
Your future spouse is someone of two ends. They can be incredibly depressing and negative; finding anything that could possibly go wrong, and worry about it a great deal even though what they made up is hardly possible in the first place. Yet they can also be the most positive and vibrant person you'll ever meet. Someone who finds little things in life beautiful and important, someone who can point out the things you've made progress at when you can't see it, someone who gives you a pep talk so you don't give up on your goals and dreams.
They are overflowing with energy, while thinking positive and negative, which can be something they can have trouble with; constantly using all your energy up when you don't mean to do so can be absolutely draining.
Something else they are good at, which again, is often directed towards other people, is being able to defend the ones they care about. Your future spouse isn't someone who is too scared to speak up, rather, they speak up a whole lot, whenever they are able to talk they do, and they will. If someone they care for has met with unjust, they'll fix it right up and confront the person they deem bad. But they'll also be honest if they believe you're at fault, and will help you get to know yourself a little bit better.

please don’t be - ch. 1
Tumblr media
for context! this takes place after season 3, and in my head Jamie plays one season with Richmond under Roy, then goes back to City to play for Pep bc let’s be real, he’s a Manchester boy at heart. so that’s what’s happening, that’s the timeline, this is def the most non-canonical thing I’ve written. it might be out of character. it might be self-indulgent. I don’t know, I would say I don’t care, except I do. enjoy.
table of contents be good to me
It’s Julia who reminds you, he’s the one who asked for your number. Because she has to remind you. Otherwise you’ll tear yourself to pieces thinking about how it’s all your fault.
Oh, it was easy in the beginning. You meet Jamie Tartt of all people in a chicken shop of all places. Things like that don’t just happen. Except it did, and he smiled at you first, and you had a stupid, stupid thought that became a stupid, stupid reality.
And Julia was there from the beginning, what with her raised eyebrows and frosty opinions.
“Be so careful,” she warns. “He doesn’t understand that he doesn’t deserve you.”
You laugh and squeeze her arm as you slip out the door and into Jamie’s car.
Because it’s fun and silly and he has exactly the right words all the time. Words about your eyes, your voice, your humor; words you know not to take seriously, but he says them with such sincerity that you allow yourself to believe them for a second.
He says strange things too, things about meeting his mum and holidays in the far future where you’re on a beach with him or maybe in the stands or in a room that costs more than you make in a month.
He says the word marriage on the third date and it’s not even in reference to the both of you, just to him. He wants it, someday, sooner than people think. You study the wall behind him and sip your water. It’s ice-cold, with just the right amount of lemon. You keep your thoughts on the matter to yourself. No sense in filling the air with meaningless words. Marriage is a conversation for another girl. Not you.
No, you do your best to take it for what it is, although you’re slipping.
It’s a fling, albeit long-term. You have incompatible schedules, never mind the way you bend your time to the breaking point just to see him for ten minutes. You have a career, bills to pay, people to fix; he has football, a team, and history to make.
It’s a whirlwind of parties, matches, flights to Dubai, photographers, dresses, jewels. You know it’s a dream. You do.
Still, it’s hard to think of it as such when he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear and tells you, “My mum really liked meeting you the other day.”
It doesn’t matter how many times he tells you you’re just going out, he’s not your boyfriend (as if you aren’t painfully aware). He’s acting as if it’s more.
“It doesn’t mean anything,” Julia says when you come home, confused and conflicted. “I don’t fault you for staying, but don’t forget you can leave whenever you’re ready.”
But you’re not ready.
You’ll bend over backwards, put everything on the shelf if it means loving Jamie for half a minute. He’d never ask, no one ever does, because they always assume they know how you’ll respond.
But they don’t.
There’s a horrifying moment when you’re at some posh coffee shop, and you’re standing up to grab extra sweetener from the counter. Jamie grabs your wrist so gently to ask for a cup of water, but all you can see is the sweet expression on his face and an eyelash resting on his cheek. He’s smiling up at you and you brush away the eyelash with your free thumb, palm cupping his face. The air changes for a split second and you know.
You’re not making it out of this unscathed.
One of you will leave. It’s inevitable. It will not be you.
It’s inevitable.
So you hold his face for a beat too long before heading inside to compose yourself. You pretend not to notice the family with their cameras out. It’s a common occurrence, as common as footballers being seen with a girl who comes from another life and means nothing in the grand scheme of the Premier League.
There are so many times you want to scream that there are bigger things than the Premier League.
“I can fix him,” you tell Julia. “I get it. I understand his whole brain, how it works, what he thinks. I understand all of it. I can fix it.”
Julia sighs. “You’re not his therapist. It’s not your job, love.”
Still.
You do what you do best: love.
It shows itself in the way you smooth out the knots in his forehead, his chest, his back. The way you smile that special, soft, just-for-Jamie smile. The way you listen extra carefully and joke and laugh when things are especially difficult.
“I won’t change for you,” he says one day, early on, when you explain the panic you feel when he doesn’t speak to you for a week.
“I’m not asking you to,” you say, voice steady despite the fact that your hands shake so hard you almost drop your tea. “I’m just explaining to you why I’m a bit strange today.”
Except he does change. His words- they don’t match his actions.
I won’t change for you.
Except you hear from him every day.
I won’t change for you.
Except he makes time to see you.
I won’t change for you.
Except he’s inviting himself for tea with your family.
I won’t change for you.
You never asked him to.
So why is it your fault?
“You knew I was moving back to Manchester at the end of the season,” he says accusingly, because you did know. You’re not asking him to stay, even now.
You nod silently, letting as few tears streak down your face as possible.
“What did you think was going to happen?” he asks.
Nothing. You didn’t think anything was going to happen.
You reply, “I didn’t expect anything to happen. I never pressured you. I never- I didn’t ask for any of this. Am I not allowed to be sad?”
There’s no point in telling him you’d move with him if he asked. Seven months together… it’s a long time. But it’s not forever, and it’s not long enough, apparently.
Julia’s in the flat that night. She always seems to know which nights to be home and not out with her sickeningly perfect boyfriend.
She doesn’t say anything, just hands you the box of takeout as you whisper, “I’m so tired of begging to be loved.”
It’s a cheap shot, you know that, but still. There’s plenty of love in your life. But the begging…
It’s silent, never leaving your lips. But it’s always screaming inside your head.
Love me, love me, love me. I am making myself lovable for you. Love me.
He knows not to text, not to call. You hear he’s in town and are relieved that you don’t hear from him. At least he knows enough to leave you alone.
You’ll love someone for eternity, until they decide they don’t want it anymore. Once they decide, they’re not allowed back. They can’t come back. It wouldn’t be healthy.
And fuck if you weren’t going to be healthy.

hi can you do a headcanon reaction for Scoups... he finding out the reader moved on fast and is dating another idol, weeks after their breakup. Thanks<3
Don’t Wanna Cry - S.Coups
a/n: hi nonie~ thanks for the ask! hopefully this is what you were looking for. there's no comfort here, only pain lol
warnings: hurt NO comfort, just angst. post break up, drinking, toxic relationship vibes but nothing in detail.
It’s been two weeks.
Two weeks since you said those four words. Two weeks since he’s seen you. Two weeks since you walked out of his life.
Seungcheol knows it’s his fault, he’s not dense, and he’s not trying to trick himself into something he knows isn’t real. And he damn sure isn’t letting his friends talk poorly of you for leaving him, not when he knows it’s his own doing.
He might not have been the best boyfriend in the world, but Seungcheol loved you. Damn it did he love you. He loves you, still. He never stopped and probably never will. You were his first love, fresh out of debut and still a confused young adult.
You’d been together for the better part of five years, despite your short breaks in between to study abroad or to ‘find yourselves’. Five years he’s spent loving you, regardless of how much he showed it. He wishes he showed it more, wishes he told you more. Then maybe he wouldn’t be sitting in this bar, nursing a beer as he watched his friends play a drinking game he had no interest in. Maybe he’d be with you at your apartment, watching a movie on the couch or out on a date, walking along the river hand in hand.
But that’s no longer Seungcheol’s reality. He’d ruined his chances with you once and for all. It was a blow out fight, one that started because Seungcheol missed a date night. Again. For the third time in a row. You yelled back and forth at each other in the living room of your tiny apartment, he definitely said some things he wishes he could take back, and you told him to get out of your life once and for all. In the heat of the moment, he did. He walked away and naively thought you’d be back to normal the next day, like usual.
Instead, Seungcheol was met with silence in the form of his number and all SNS being blocked. When he finally worked the courage up to go over to your apartment, he realised you changed your door code and despite standing outside in the hallway knocking on your door for over twenty minutes, you never answered. That was when Seungcheol knew it was really over.
“Cheol, c’mon, cheer up man,” Soonyoung slurred to his left, starting to get past the point of ‘too drunk’ for a Thursday night, “she’s not worth-”
“Don’t finish that sentence Hosh.” Seungcheol warned, not wanting to hear another one of his friends ‘pep talks’ about how you didn’t deserve him. Because that couldn’t be further from the truth. The truth was he didn’t deserve you.
Soonyoung heaved a sigh before turning away from his elder and looking at Mingyu instead, opting to continue his drinking game rather than deal with a grumpy leader. Seungcheol silently thanked him and turned his head towards the entryway again.
That’s when he saw it. It being none other than you, the girl of his dreams, the woman he’s loved since he was 19. Except, you weren’t alone. And you definitely weren’t down in the dumps like Seungcheol currently was. No, you were smiling and laughing and you had your arm linked with someone. A man. A tall, handsome man with a sharp nose and cheekbones and thick, dark eyebrows. In a way the man you were with reminded Seungcheol of a more handsome, taller version of himself, and that thought made him want to retch.
He looked away as quickly as he could, trying to mask his hurt with another sip of his beer which only succeeded in making him feel even more nauseous. It seemed the only one of his friends who noticed was Joshua, ever the perceptive one.
Joshua gave him a sad, tight-lipped smile as he took in the scene at the entrance of the bar, slinging his arm around Seungcheol’s shoulder to give a slight squeeze of comfort. There wasn’t much anyone could do or say to make him feel better. He knew it was his fault all along, but to see the consequences of his actions right in front of his face…. It felt like a cruel sort of punishment. Of all the bars you could’ve chosen tonight, of all the places in Seoul, it had to be this one? Seungcheol chuckled darkly. Karma really was a bitch, wasn’t she?
“You want to head back to the dorms?” Joshua asked from his right, voice low enough that the rest of the table wouldn’t hear. “I didn’t drink, I can drive us.”
Seungcheol didn’t even need to think about it, immediately nodding at Joshua’s questioning. He knew Joshua wouldn’t question him further, wouldn’t make him talk about his feelings, or whatever. He was the kind of friend who would listen if needed but gave you space otherwise. Seungcheol appreciated that about his friend, more so in this moment when Joshua led them both outside through the back entrance, avoiding seeing you and the mystery man you were with.
As they made their way out of the bar and into Joshua’s car, Seungcheol did his best to hold back his tears. He couldn’t cry now, wouldn’t cry. He would wait until he was in the comfort of his own room before he let the tears fall and the memories of the last five years replay on repeat.

Kitsune HRT Part 3
Doors, are fucking,
TERRIFYING.
The office was unassuming by itself, yet the details spoke behind the facade's back, hinting to a truer nature. A nick upon the doorplate, how it could be pushed easily from any point on its towering height, or how dirt prints came in more varieties than just shoes. Snap! My gaze scampered upwards. The sun gazed unflinchingly from high above gazing through its mantle of clouds; it weighed like a crown with all of its aching heat. "I wonder how it'd feel with fur," I mused, before turning my gaze back to the office's doorway. I... couldn't distract myself for long. All that research I had done, the pep talk with my friends, they made it very clear: the first visit was the worst of them all. But like anything good and necessary, it still felt larger than it was. I could feel myself take a step back for just a moment. And then I stopped. The words of the kind man from before, and his quiet push to bring me to this place, they rang in my head as a gentle bell. Thoughts of her returned to my mind - my hands unconsciously went over my heart, head rolled to the side. I started to breathe. In. Out. In. Out. In. Out. In. The door gave way to a refreshing reprieve an an audience of chairs. "Barely anyone else here... suppose it *is* a work day." The few merits of unemployment aside, it did make me feel still ever so uneasy. I couldn't help it! And it wasn't just fear either. Looking to my side, I saw the wounds upon the wall, infamously left by one of the most notable patients. Those pictures were how I knew this place even existed, and now here I was caught in the wake of it all. I passed the healing plaster patch and shuffled towards the counter. A slight woman greeted me with a smile. "How can I help you?" "I'm here for... um, I think his name was Herian?" "Oh, Dr. Herian. Did you schedule a visit?" "Yes. Uh, it's under-" "Here it is. Miss Wild?" Her pleasant smile set me at ease. I simply gave a nod. "Just sit down, it won't take any time." I sat down. Names, are a tricky thing during transition. You're constantly confronted by them throughout the process. Modern society asks you what you are through your name, but what if you don't know? What if you wished you didn't need one? Right now, my appearance didn't speak for itself but already so many people just called me the truth: "Fox". It wasn't a name, but it was me. I'd gone through earlier versions; Wild was just a nickname that I enjoyed better than the one I buried states away. And maybe this one would meet the same fate. Her voice flittered upon the air. I knew the routine, and followed my part. If the front door was merely daunting, though, the door of Dr. Herian's was something *else*. Not by the door's fault. It was entirely the man inside responsible. A man no younger than 40 sat behind a heavy desk bolted to the floor gazed right through me as I came through, his gaze shielded by thick spectacles. Only wisps of hair decorated his scalp with a bush rounding the rest and sitting over his lips. Theodore Herian was the stern face of the entire program, a genius amongst his field and a veritable boogeyman to the community. Wordlessly I sat before him in the tiny chair provided, shuffling to cut a smaller figure. "Miss..." his eyes glanced at the file before him, "Wild. According to my schedule, you're here on behalf of the Humanity Removal Therapy?" "Correct." "Mh. I see. Specifically.... ah, right. Kitsune, which involves a variant of vulpinestin. We do have the medication-" Here it comes. "-but have you been living as a fox for years, now?" "For as long as I knew what thought was." "Yes sir. I've been presenting as a fox publicly for a while now, both online and in person." Physical visits were so much more stressful than the online consultations my first transition brought with it. And the questions he asked, I felt as if he was investigating the fiber of my being. Pouring water upon glass to find any sign of the slightest crack. "To be clear, what you're asking for-"
"Practically begging for." "-is the kitsune type, not the standard North American Red Fox. This comes with more than just tails. Even more so than other HRT medications, the kitsune comes with notable side effects. Illusions, fire, s..." The voice filtered out. I knew what I was getting into, and I knew to some they'd misinterpret why. 'That I just wanted the powers' or 'it'd be okay if you were just a fox'. I might be a vixen, a creature of cunning and sneering grins - but I wasn't some kind of plotting mastermind! My fingers pinched the sweatpants I came by today in with frustration twisting under the skin. The irritation ran like wax, my mouth pulled into the faint signs of an oncoming sneer. I would be a beautiful vixen even if it killed me. Not for any reason other than to ring in a new spring. "I'll do this. I'm right here. It's almost the-" "MISS. Wild.... Good. You're back. Did you hear what I said?" I gave a flustered nod, which he responded with an exasperated sigh. "Then, I would like to be the first to thank you for coming here, and to let you know - you may pick up your medication at your chosen pharmacy." He handed over a pamphlet that felt as precious as gold in my fingers. For moments, I was on autopilot. Step Step Step Step At some point I recall bidding a polite farewell to the receptionist? But my mind was a buzzing hurricane of thoughts, a whirl of actions. Petals honey gold silk cars sirens light heat skin sweat lock key ho-! My door clicked behind me, the vacancy greeting me warmly. The bag crumpled underneath my fingers. And when I heard that rattle? The light kissing the bottle and coming out changed as an amber gold nectar that seeped into the floor? I wept, and delighted sounds of a fox escaped my throat. Kitsune HRT: Week 1 OH MY GODS OH MY GODS I HAVE THE MEDICINE, AAAAAA -No changes yet. First pills, but so stoked. -Gods I felt I was going to die in that office. -Thank the fucks I do not have oh HELLS. -....I hope I end up fluffy

HI ANY TIPS ON BEING THE NEW KID AT A NEW SCHOOL
GENERALLY GETTING ANXIETY ATTACKS LOL
ALSO I LOVE YR BLOG SMM
Tumblr media
𝜗𝜚 ݁ ˖ Doll tips! ; Being the New Kid!! 🎀⭐️
Tip #1 ; Taking a Breath now speaking from experience being the new kid at school is very nerve racking ik ive done it so many times and just sitting back and just breathing snd relaxing can definitely help just calm you down!!
Tip #2 ; Making a Good Impression!! now for this one i not saying you have to be the most outgoing person ever bc it can be overwhelming especially if you have social anxiety or you just have trouble with interacting!! but definitely being as polite as possible can definitely help you in the long run!!! ⭐️
Tip #3 ; Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself
now since you are new to the school you may or may not have to introduce yourself and ik how nerve racking this can be but doing a simple “Hi! I’m _” is really good if you don’t wish to speak then a simple smile and wave is also just as good!!!
Tip #4 ; Recruiting Friends!!
if you wanna be friends with a particular person try going up to them and saying hi to them also helping people with something is a way to get to know a person or having desk/table mates is like a gold mine for making friends with people !!!
Tip #5 ; Not Everyone is a nice person
if you can tell someone is a mean person stay away from them have little to no contact with this person its will save you all the energy and time because people like this can be extremely draining trust ik that!
Tip #6 ; Be nice but don’t be a pushover
obviously being nice is ESSENTIAL but never let someone cross your boundaries or disrespect you call them out on it don’t make a huge scene obviously but definitely let them know that you’re setting a boundary and if they cross again then cut this person off because obviously they don’t respect your boundaries!!
Tip #7 ; Don’t be a Bystander!!
if you see someone getting bullied say something about it,defend them or just ask them if they’re okay being a bystander to the problem makes you part of the problem as well!!!
Tip #8 ; Don’t let others bring you down
again with making boundaries never let someone cross you or make snarky remarks call them out on it and remember this person words obviously don’t matter what other people say doesn’t define you
Tip #9 ; Join a Club!!
joining a club can be an amazing way to make friends while also doing something you enjoy and over all its just an amazing activity!!
Tip #10 ; Don’t overshare!!!
unless you genuinely trust a person don’t overshare because people switch up and anything you say can and will be used against you!
Tip #11 ; Have Main Character mindset
even if you have zero confidence fake it till you make it!! walk with good posture and some pep in ur step!!🎀
Tip #12 ; If u have a group assignment don’t do all the work
omg i can’t stress this enough only do your part if someone is failing to do their part don’t do it for them let them fail thats their own fault
Tip #13 ; Being popular isn’t everything!
social hierarchy in high school or middle school (idk what grade ur in im sorry!!) is so bleak okay being popular isn’t everything i mean sure by some chance you’ll be popular but still you don’t HAVE to fit in because ur made to stand out
Tip #14 ; Channel ur inner Elle Woods & Cher Horowitz
* apply ur self in ur academics
* if you need help ask its not a bad thing to need help!!
* Make an Organizer to stay in top of ur work!!
* STUDY!! STUDY!! STUDY!!
* if you have an assignment with a rubric read it carefully to ensure you can get the highest grade possible!!
* if you unhappy with your grade or feel like you should’ve gotten a better one ask your teacher to review!!!
* wear cute clothes and style ur hair neatly not to for the lookism esque obviously but looking ur best and feeling your best are definitely good ways to feel better!!! 🎀⭐️
* have a “what? like its hard?” mindset
* Don’t Judge!!
* Pursue ur dreams!!
* Don’t be afraid of a challenge
* Be yourself!!
Tip #15 ; Don’t Leave people out!!!
say ur in a group setting and you see one particular person being left out and not getting their chance to speak make them feel welcome ask them about what they were gonna say and include them into the conversation!!!
Tip #16 ; Eat what makes you happy and don’t yuck someones yum
if someone has a cultural dish for their lunch DON’T EVER make them feel bad about it don’t care what it is that loser behavior! also eat the kind of food that makes you feel good inside and that nourishes your body i definitely suggest packing a lunch the night before!!!
Tip #17 ; Don’t hang around Slackers!!
be friends with people that actually apply themselves in their academic and working for what they want!!!
