what awakened your passion for big women ?

ever since i was a little girl i saw women older than me ajd id try to impress them by doing things like doing good in school (i was very dumb lots of teachers hated me but that made them give me more attention and that made me go yay !!! uf i suck they yell at me more and oay attention to me yippeee !!! ) and giving them drawings of things ... that attraction to okder women then developed into atttractoon to older AND bigger women because god i jsut mena .. fuck .. have you sen them ... i love my womej big .. tall .. wide .. like just BIG .. maybe it debeloped because i enjky weighted blankets and so the thoight of a big womab sitting on my face is hot ... or maybe because i want to hold them and grip their body and alsl .. show then love .. theres more skin fo4 me to kiss and bite and be all roamntic on .. aldo because im a lady who loves wpmen .. i mean really at this poinr ... who DOESNR love big women like actually .. i fucking love big women ..

Lady Stede part 1: the shift!

(this is all about prep & the pattern, tomorrow we will begin the actual making!!)

so as ive already mentioned, im not focusing in on a specific period for my shift pattern, instead trying to make something i can get the most wear out of as possible. i dont think theres going to be anything inaccurate about my finished shift, but thats not been a specific consideration for me.

Ill mostly be following this blogpost by Angela Clayton & the cutting guide linked within it. theres a couple other resources ive looked at to make this, but i think those form the foundation of how im going forward.

im using a linen that i bought a couple of years ago for the purposes of making a shirt or shift, so it feels good to be finally getting around to using it! its pretty light and slightly see through, and when i prewashed it the hand softened up a ton, which im super happy about too. it should drape up really nicely!

its 140cm wide (actually, its more like 145cm, but lets ignore that, im just going to work it into the length of my shift) so ill be cutting my body with a shoulder seam for better fabric efficiency.

If you wanna read more specific stuff about patterning & even see my cutting plan, its below the cut! this was just getting a little long :)

Theres 4 shapes i need to cut for a shift - the main body, the sleeves, the side gores & the underarm gussets - but a lot of the measurements are pretty arbitrary, especially in this era where they were a relatively loose garment.

i knew i didnt want too much extra around the bust, both because it ties into how far off the shoulder the seam falls, and for sensory reasons- i hate having too much fabric underneath a tight garment, aka my stays- and i wanted slim sleeves for a similar reason, as sleeves in this era are pretty tight, so i drafted a quick mockup from my bust & flexed bicep measurements (and a couple other things i picked at random) to see how things were looking. you should be able to do a shift without a mockup, but im personally glad i did, because i decided to adjust a couple numbers after it!

while thinking about cutting, i thought id have a look to see if there was any lay planning software out there- i found this one, which i think is for cutting wood, but works great for planning out rectangular sewing projects too! i had a great time tweaking numbers until it fit together in the best way possible !!

So! heres my final cutting plan w/ measurements :) ill need to cut a diagonal down my gores to make triangles, but other than that, this is exactly what ill be working with!

(i have more yardage than this, so the extra section will just be left attached to the rest of it! though i did see narrow cuffs for the sleeves mentioned in some sources, so ill get those out of there too, if i decide to include them!)

WTAF, Etsy?!

So a few weeks ago, I sold a cross stitch pattern on my Etsy shop and realized it'd been so long since I sold anything, my bank has actually been closed for over a year. I never had checks for this bank and I didn't have the routing/account number written down anywhere because it was in the app. I went into my seller account and apparently in order to change your deposit account, you need to enter the old account number.

I went back and forth with customer service, even showing them the letter saying the bank was closing. They still stood firmly and said that if I can't enter the old account number, I can't change my deposit account. They even tried to send it to the closed account and it obviously got returned, just like I said it would. The only thing they said I could do was open a new store. They'd help me transfer everything to a new store and refund any listing fees that were leftover from the old store.

Obviously, this was a ridiculous thing to have to do. Especially since I have a listing in my drafts for the absurd amount of metal circular needles I'm getting rid of (they hurt my hands).

Today at work, I was cleaning off my computer desktop and realized I have a few tax returns and W2s saved on there. It occurred to me that if I could find my taxes from a year when I still had that account, I could finally enter it in and change my account.

I went upstairs to our file box and found a tax return with the account number. Then, I opened my Etsy finances and clicked "edit" next to the old deposit account number. Instead of asking me for the old account number, it directs me to Plaid, where I can login to my current bank account. Within a few clicks, I was able to switch to my current bank account.

What. The. Actual. Fuck.

I spent several days going back and forth, pleading with Etsy to let me change my deposit account because the bank was closed and I had plenty of proof to show them that was the case, just not an account number and no one to call to get it. Then, I dig out a tax return that has the account number I must enter to change my account and all I had to do was login via Plaid and it changed it without a problem.

Fuck you, Etsy. All this for $1.86.
