in todays news of asinine bullshit discourse on tiktok: apparently there's a hot debate over whether or not you're entitled to nice greetings and conversations with cashiers/retail workers. and. now here's the kicker. whether or not thinking no one's entitled to the pleasantries of an overworked exhausted employee is counterintuitive to the idea of a "third space". yes this is real life

#''ermmm if you don't think cashiers should say 'hi! how are you! 😊' then you don't REALLY want third spaces''#when is the last fucking time you've stepped foot in your local library. do you know where your public parks are.#if somehow the biggest affront to the idea of a 'third space' you can think of is a grumpy/quiet cashier ringing up your shit at walmart #and not the increasing commodification of nearly all aspects of public life. or anti-homeless/hostile architecture.#or the exploitation/underpaying/overworking of workers like that grumpy cashier that make it fucking damn near impossible for them #to actually GO to a ''third space'' outside of work because they're fucking exhausted or don't have the money to go out #then you need to step back and re-evaluate what your idea of a ''third space'' really fucking means #mine

im curious to see how we'll see how we feel about takehiro and the others' new designs when they're fully revealed but it did get me thinking about how i would design his outfit. unfortunately i realized very quickly that i would just put him in my own fashion style: department-store-clearance-core

#art #traditional art #watercolour #fanart #virvox project #kurono takehiro #vocal synth #voicevox #no id rn because i havent figured out how to translate all this to alt text yet... gimme a bit to think on it orz #BUT yeah like. well im sure their new designs will be fine. but one thing that did stand out to me. is that i do not like muscle tees LOL #and i guess it snowballed. i like fitted tank tops. and loose 90s moe tank tops. but not muscle tanks. turtlenecks are fine.#but you know maybe my walmart clearance fashion sense works for him. i always liked that he kind of dresses like some fucking guy #like his blazer is pretty slick but the rest of him is just a guy in jeans and a t shirt. and i love that #like akashi dresses like my grandpa with better colour sense. kotarou dresses like a pokemon trainer? sourin has his like #traditional modern stylish thing going on. and the mysterious fur strip glued on the back <3 and aoyama dresses lowkey kinda hypebeast #streetwear esque. but takehiro? thats literally just some dude <3 <3 <3 i do worry his new design will make him tooo trendy looking #BUT im intrigued. i think they said they're hoping to do multiple designs by a bunch of people? which i hope they can #the original designs had a very. moe? appeal. a distinct sort of cuteness and squishiness without being toothrottingly so #that might be missing from some newer designs but if we have a whole variety we can have like #a zola project situation at least. like we have the stylistic amano art all the way to the v6 glossy designs #a whole variety would be nice. but i am worried about ryuuseis hair the most lowkey. what are we gonna do without his huge bizarre fauxhawk #BUT maybe i should throw my hat in the ring.... really push myself to make more fan designs and outfits for all these characters i like #maybe i'll be able to draw something thats not just zhers clearance clothes. maybe i'll step up to gap clearance clothes. even winners??

I have never worn work appropriate shoes a day in my life

#deity dialogue #probably untrue but for the most part im doing fuck all #currently im wearing some slight platform shoes that are Walmart brand that I trhdited #trying to remember what I wore prior because I didn’t really have any work like shoes #im gonna be honest im pretty certain I was wearing my purple boots with a heel to work #not a huge heel but there was a heel #I don’t really know what shoes count as work appropriate and ive theifted most my shoes I own #any shoe I buy from the store and not thrifting has been slippers #I love slippers. too much they keep being #dying *

WIP Wednesday (1/17) || Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 87.5)

Aaron presses the eject button and the TV screen goes back to blue when the tray pops out. Andrew watches as he takes the disc out and turns around with a look on his face. Aaron clears his throat and waves the disc around.

“I thought it would be like that movie Nicky made us go to that one time. Ya know, the one with the grizzly bear and the little goat, or whatever it was.”

“The bear and the little goat…” Andrew repeats, confused.

It takes a moment, but memories of high school come flooding into his head and Andrew recalls the night Nicky dragged them both out on an adventure to the movies. But on the way there, the two of them started arguing. Nicky decided since they were acting like babies, they could watch a baby movie. Instead of one of the horror movies that they were arguing about. It was called Open Season and it was about a pet grizzly getting turned out into the wild for the first time.

It was a fitting, but also unjust punishment. For Aaron, anyway. You see, Andrew had still been medicated back then and… Well, he found it hilarious. He remembers cackling at every joke and flipping off an actual seven year old when she looked at him funny. Andrew cringes internally.

"It was a deer. Not a goat." Andrew says finally. "And it wasn't that good."

“I know it wasn't. But you really liked it." Aaron says, confused.

“I was high off my ass on anti-psychotics.” Andrew says, matter-of-factly. “I thought watching the bathroom faucet drip was fun back then.”

“Oh.” Aaron’s expression crumbles like wet sand. “I thought… Uh. Anyway, happy birthday.”

“Mm. Thanks. You too.” Andrew says, crossing his arms. “What are we doing for Christmas? Waterboarding practice? You can go first."

“It wasn’t that bad!” Aaron insists.

“It was.”

“Okay, it was.”

How do you go about choosing facial features for ocs?

sorry ive been on the half life grind you couldve asked this days ago and i didnt know until now. but ☝️ just like. look at real people. not like models and celebrities like just people you see in real life in the street or in stores or something. look at how their face mixes and how their body type adds to it. once you get out of the "women are soft and skinny and short and petite. men are jacked and tall and chad" mindset it gets alot easier i think. give that girl a big nose and fat cheeks and eyebags and fucked teeth. give that guy a babyface. give them an uneven face. make one eye open more than the other. give em lazy eyes. make em fat and tall or short and skinny. its up to you whatever you choose but just get real with it. dont make all of em look like models all the time
