Only Friends episode 1
Yes fam I loved it. This show was written and directed by queer cinephile millennials and it shows. The late 90’s erotic thriller cinematography, fashion choices, and edit is a perfect hommage to a very specific period. (see Cruel Intentions, Wild Things but also Scream and trust me on this one DAWSON’S CREEK.)
Hair and make-up are classic Jojo team. Everybody is moisturized, lip balmed and coconut oiled. No lightening make-up, we see every mole and every freckle. (They accentuated Mark’s eyes and whew !) Everybody’s earrings are real shiny too.
The actors are in their bag. Khao is blindingly attractive. He is so talented it’s just unfair. His improve with the seatbelt scene ? Too good. First is on 10 as per usual. Force is unrecognizable, cold eyes, mechanic smile, that man is a snake on legs. Neo WHEW. Mark Pakin is an amazing on-screen kisser on top of everything. Book is so difficult to read, I find it so intriguing. The whole cast is just enjoying themselves and you can tell.
There was a lot of excellent seduction in this episode but Nick dropping the act for a second, just amazed that his bold move worked as he leads Boston to the back of the store ? Nick’s not a player he just HAD to do it. (The “I put a nude in you phone is based on a true story. People are nuts lol)
I loved Mew repeating that he knows how to read people.I’m sure you do boo but 1. You also said that if you fuck Top you’ll fall for him. 2. You already fell for him so your judgement was kaput FROM THE JUMP.3 Top will , sing it with me, bleed you dry like a goddam vampire, even though you are indeed very smart. He dickmatized Boston so he is in fact Beelzebub.
First has experience in throwing people out of his house idc. That “take you shit and go”pants throw ?!! 10 out a 10.
Boston one night stand was kinda trash for his partner. Count on Jojo and his pals to put a selfish lover on screen. Also Topboy stopping the second Mew says so. Sand handling drunk baby boo with the outmost care. And masturbation of course. Nick being an amazing but fragile lover was my favorite.
LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING IF RAY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SAND BISEXUAL AWAKENING ??!!!
NB : The sex scene in the shop would be in a video store if video stores still existed.

my top ten redacted boys (because i am but a bandwagoner of trends)
1. sam - took me a bit to like him ( haven't even finished his playlist yet) but god his character hurts me, he and darlin have gone through so much shit . the video talking about the future with your vampire mate basically sealed the deal on him being my favorite character, and after reading one of the bright eyes series transcripts, it makes me even more interested in his character . (and his southern accent may or may not have awakened something in me)
2. avior - is it obvious i like tragic characters yet . his series is one of the first ones i've listened to fully, and the chokehold that the plot twist had on me was insane . the realization that he had loved starlight so much that he deus ex machina'd them out of the hellscape, and then was silently YEARNING when they were pulled back . i was sobbing you don't understand officer. also love his early sarcastic personality (despite it being a facade) and his constant need to wax poetic, i wish we still saw a little bit of that in his newer audios though
3. guy - ohh the love of my life . the only comfort character ever . babygirl . he does exude millennial cringe sometimes but i can gloss over all that because i love him 🫶🫶🫶 also love his dynamic with honey they r so cute together . his flashback audio is so good AUGGHH the tension . personal favorite audio of him though is his first sick video , because i am THE guy angst enthusiast and it's the closest i'll ever get to it . he is sooo silly idc i always binge his playlist when i can't sleep (ironically i always listen to the one where he attempts to help honey sleep and it works 🫶)
4. lasko - babygirl #2 🤞🤞🤞 love him he is just an overall sweet character . i've also said this before but, him being labelled early on as submissive irked me because i usually found those character tropes annoying and they tended to be infantilized . but the thing is with lasko its not his entire characterization , he's still a very good professor at the academy and ughhhqhh i know how 2explain it i jst love him (also. his slip up in the hot boi summer audio. he is freaky .)
5. geordi - his and cutie's story is so interesting . i love their storyline so much even if it hurts to listen to the audios . they're both flawed characters in a relationship but they're still taking the necessary steps to be better. additionally, while i definitely don't stand for the shit cutie did, i can relate to them in the sense of needing to know what people are thinking to function properly, which is probably another reason why geordi and his storyline hits so close to my heart . (is that corny. maybe)
6. asher - one of the reasons im in the fandom tbh !! he's one of the first characters i got into, specifically his valenweek flashback audio i ate that shit up . . i don't listen to him that much now but still !!! i owe me being here to his character lol
7. hush - creature/babygirl . i was kinda intimidated to listen to his playlist (for god's sake his title is "mysterious stranger") but ohhhh i love him he is so strange. tying doc up in one video and then asking them to hold his hand a few videos later??? love that . him showing up in carpe deus and fucking wrecking vega kinda sealed it for me . love theorizing about him too, if that's not obvious 🫶
8. porter - when i heard the voice that this character had. i can't even explain to you what my reaction was . he's such a fucking diva i love it so much , this guy is like 80% snark, and he just fucks with vincent for no reason .(when he said he was gonna bring treasure to the summit but didn't 😭) he's also so interesting . while ya he was sent to go to the summit and assassinate a clan king (which he succeeded in) he told sweetheart about the bennets discussing their partnership with closeknit so they could get necessary info, he provided an alibi for vincent, he also stopped grilling sam when darlin told him to . (also his 2nd video with treasure . killed me tbh)
9. marcus - not proud to admit that marcus is the first character i came across on erik's channel . marcus is weirdo number 1 (derogatory) and i just find his storyline so interesting. yeah its sad why he did what he did, but overall he knew what he was doing , he fucked everyone else over, and compromised a project, of which the failure could mean life and death, just because he wanted to get freaky with the robot . his obsession and little impulse control being overrun by the asset's obsession with him. GOD . . the satisfaction i felt when he was taken away 🫶
10. caller - weirdo (compliment) . again as a horror enthusiast i love this guy . he's like ghostface but if ghostface could phase through walls/was already in your house (and also weird and obsessive) . his audio made me have the same reaction when watching horror content : "holy shit i love this but also i hate this" 10/10 . he's only last because he has one (1) video . 💔
honorable mention:
gavin - GAVIN LOVE OF MY LIFFEEEE . i really did wanna put him on my list but i haven't listened to the freelancer series properly yet!!!! this is not a matter of him being my least favorite but rather not knowing much about him in depth yet !!!!
#this took way to long#but i had to#i have a few hot takes#because i am interested in the weird characters#is it obvious#redacted audio#redacted asmr#redactedverse#redacted fandom

Taylor releasing ANOTHER version of ttpd just as Chappell Roan's album topped Spotify's global chart is the BEST exhibit of capitalist greed I've ever seen. Ntm the fact that Charli xcx ft Billie eilish has also begun doing numbers on the charts. It's like clockwork, when another artist seems to be doing well.
And I don't care if her brain dead stans say, "it's actually for kanye" it's not. His piece isn't about to enter the chart until later. And even if it was about ye, Taylor KNOWS by releasing all these new/not so new, lame versions of a badly constructed album (yes the album is bad), it's going to hurt all the new artists who are out right now.
Idc if it's the Samsung smart fridge memo version of mbobhft or some other thing. She absolutely cannot stand to see other fresh, young artists win and it's tarnishing the legacy she's built up until evermore. Even before that, how she and her team absolutely wronged Olivia reflected poorly on her & revealed her true character.
"But yall don't say this when male artists do it" -name me one male artist who is currently doing this & I'll talk abt it. Matter of fact, name me one male artist who currently has the power Taylor has right now. She's got the Grammys in her pocket, she's capitalised on the nostalgia her fans have for her, & is now going after young artists. As a former swiftie, Taylor has become the very thing she stood against all those years ago.
She has shown that she will only be an advocate for yt issues, cuts down her younger, fresher competition & latch on to the yt indie/new pop girlies who don't have the power to outshine her, but are just popular enough to keep her relevant, see Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter (although Sabrina seems to be surpassing her in streams & popularity recently), ice spice (we all know this one was just a response to ppl calling her out for her obvious racism/indifference to pocs, especially her black and brown fans who CONSTANTLY face racism from her white majority, mostly millennial fans).
Anyway, Chappell seems to be doing just fine, this was just a grumble bc Taylor has been disappointing for a while & I'm glad we're starting to see swifties call her out for her crap. She's not untouchable. She's just a yt woman at the end of the day who will only speak up for yt women & their privileges. & she's just a product now, doing everything in her power to stay on top even if it means cutting down younger, new artists who with their new, growing fanbases, cannot compete with a parasitic capitalist group like Taylor Swift.

Pride and prejudice 1995 was a lot better than the 2005 “adaptation” but ur not ready for that conversation
lmao this is a bar but also so presumptuous ! i really love the 1995 miniseries as it was my introduction to pride and prejudice media bc my mom had the dvd set and i watched with her as a kid (and have rewatched multiple times since. i came out of barbie thinking about how it betrays itself as a product of millennials when the depression barbie ad has that clip from 1995 bc i dont think women and girls younger than me are really that aware of it anymore, but i loved it and that scene was where i laughed the hardest bc i have very much Watched That When Depressed). i think 1995 is an excellent adaptation, and while i obviously love the 2005 movie, i understand the critiques people have of it and dont really push back on them. i do think some people (not necessarily u anon) gloss over its departures in asserting its fidelity to the text (when in the book is mr darcy sopping wet lol) and i found when i read the book at 14 that its really funny in a way that the series doesnt quite translate entirely. ofc 2005 does away with much of the humor and emphasizes the romantic drama but idc bc its iconic ! i actually think the *real* conversation we should wake up is that 1995's sense and sensibility is the best true austen adaptation that understands and portrays both the humor and the romance to be honest

Pro abortion advocates I’ve noticed have a huge overlap with the crowd of people who call their dogs and cats their fur babies or believe that humans are all terrible.
There was this video I watched of a pregnant woman who developed an allergy to their pet (I think it was a dog) while pregnant and her husband didn’t want to rehome it fast enough, so she rightfully called out how he was basically putting a cats life over her and their unborn baby. So she left the pet at a shelter where it did unfortunately pass away which is sad and I understand that losing a pet is hard but everyone in the comments were ALL basically praising the husband for divorcing his pregnant wife because to them, a cat was worth more than her health and the wellbeing of the baby.
It was really eye opening to see how much hatred this woman was receiving. There was blame on the unborn baby too on how she couldn’t just leave her home?? She was pregnant, and her health was being affected by their pet. Yet she was wrong for thinking about how this was affecting the baby that nobody cared to think about. There is a serious problem with how many people in society now do not value life and how serious pregnancy is. The husband clearly didn’t care. And clearly now, people value the life of an animal over other people. Idk maybe I’m just from a different culture and not very sensitive to this than the comments because I do like animals but it seems like in the west, pets are like children, siblings or family members? It’s just so weird to me. I can’t ever imagine looking at a cat or dog and see them as literal children. It’s creepy and dehumanizing.
Trash husband. Trash victim blaming ass supporters.
I like animals but people being so extra about their pets give me massive narcissist energy. You know, those people deifying animals precisely bc unlike humans, animals can't say to them "no", contradict or question their character.
Domestic animals are just pure unfiltered love, exactly like children, you're absolutely right. That's why both people obsessed with maternity and BABIES (not children) and "i love animals more than humans" types are major red flag.
And yeah, I think this obsession with animals is a very Westerner thing. There are pet everywhere in the world, but this borderline psychopathic obsession with animals that can be found almost exclusively in the West (especially cats) always came off super weird to me. My tinfoil is that the craze about cats (since ~2012) and the boom of social medias and meme culture was a psyop to distract millennials away from the 2008 financial crisis and potential militantism ("Occupy Wall Street") and dumb them down into intellectual anaesthesia. But I digress.
I hate that whenever there's a story of a dog who bit or mauled someone you ALWAYS have psycho defending the dog. Even when the victim is a child who's been mauled to death. I heard an elderly man lost his leg because of dog...
I like dogs, but the moment a dog displays the slightest form of aggressiveness to my children or any of my family I'll do everything I can for them to be put down. Animals will always be animals. I literally don't care if he's "family"
also those ugly dog shouldn't be anywhere near children and be required to permanently wear a muzzle.
Parents leaving them play with their own children should be reported to CPS idc

Pokémon Favourites!
repost, don’t reblog!
FIRST GAME: Pokémon Yellow version was my first; I got it as a gift for completing kindergarten. My reading was still a little shaky, and I didn't understand that I had to click "save game" whenever I turned my Gameboy Color off. So, I perpetually restarted the game for a week until my dad helped me figure it out. Yellow version is how my dad and I first REALLY bonded, actually, because he'd take me around to his job a lot (busy man) and I'd sit behind his desk and ask him for help with reading the big words.
FAVOURITE SPINOFF GAME: A tie between Pokémon Stadium for the N64 and Pokémon Colloseum. Stadium is how I bonded with my little sister; we played the mini games like CRAZY when dad rented it for us from Family Video. Run Rattata Run was our favorite. And my dad actually would battle me on Stadium; his favorite Pokémon were Dugtrio and Pidgeot, and he loved to do dramatic character voices for the gym leaders, especially Giovanni. Colloseum was my first experience with a more gritty, dark video game plot line, and was the first Pokémon game I helped my baby brother complete. Orre is just. So good.
FAVOURITE EVIL TEAM: It's a tie between Team Rocket and Team Magma. Rocket, because I'm a filthy millennial and will never NOT love them. Magma for no other reason than the fact that my favorite color is red, and the rivalry between Magma and Aqua is so funny. I'm in a competitive Pokémon clan that got formed back in 2016 when I was super into the Smogon scene; there was a series of clan battles called "turf wars" where we played across a region map, and all the clans were based on the different teams. Me and Team Magma won several seasons in a row, and we've remained lifelong friends even though that larger competitive group no longer meets up.
FAVOURITE TEAM LEADER: GUZMA. I love my boy so much. He completely blew Maxie out of the water the moment I laid eyes on him. He is just so fun, so complex, and even though I write Giacomo now, Guzma will always have a place in my dumb little heart. It's ya boy!
FAVOURITE STARTER: Squirtle. This is a Squirtle Squad support blog.
FAVOURITE BOX LEGENDARY: Groudon. I fucking LOVE Groudon.
FAVOURITE POKEMON: /to the cadence of the cut screen from Pikachu's vacation: Mag. . . Nemite. . . Mag. . . Nemite. . .MAG-NE-MITE!
FAVOURITE PROFESSOR: Sada is my new favorite. She became the favorite as soon as she was revealed. Women can do ANYTHING!!!!
FAVOURITE RIVAL: Green & Silver. No you will not make me pick between the two of them. Green because he is so iconic, and Silver because his music in GSC is fucking great; also, the hilarious Pokémon Vietnames Crystal translation that was played through by Delicious Cinnamon is one of my favorite things EVER. They called him Chedr. His lines were great. Also. . . . Was I the only one who accidentally named Silver just ??? (BECAUSE HIS NAME POPPED UP AS ??? IN THE FIRST BATTLE AND I JUST COPIED THAT WHEN ASKED) when they first played gen 2 as a kid??????? Or was I just dumb????
FAVOURITE CHAMPION: Steven Stone's champion battle was VERY memorable for me.
FAVOURITE CHARACTER (if not already covered): Emmet and Ingo. No you will not separate them for this answer, they are a package deal in my brain. I was there for the height of Black and White hype and the dawn of Submas. It was magical. I love my silly train men.
FAVOURITE STORY: Black/White. Followed closely by Sun/Moon and Emerald.
FAVOURITE MUSIC: ALL of the music from Gen 5. Loved the Unovan Elite Four theme. N's theme. GHETSIS'S THEME STILL GIVES ME CHILLS. I also fucking love the Cipher Admin battle music from Pokémon Colloseum. Also, controversial kick, Miror B's theme in Colloseum was better than Gale of Darkness's choice. And of course Guzma's battle music is awesome, AND the Team Star Leader ost.
FAVOURITE REGION OVERALL: If you can't tell, I love Unova. Runner up is Johto; idc what people say, nothing will ever replicate the joy and wonder of playing through Johto for the first time RIGHT after the height of PokeMania in the 90's and early 00's. It was . . . Magical.

Don't mind me just going to be posting short reviews of recent comics I've read.
ODY-C Vo. 1 & 2
Christian Ward's art was great it really fit the vibe of this trippy genderqueer Space opera retelling of Homer's Odyssey. His designs for the Greek gods are in my top 3(the other two are Hades & Dislyte).
For Vol.2, listen I get that it's Greek mythology even as a retelling,so I can't really be surprised by the rape and pedophilia I know but hmmm really soured my liking. Especially because the POV characters for Vol.2 were more likable and I really felt for them. And again it's Greek mythology everybody is an asshole and that's the point but idc sometimes I like seeing nice people who are kind and fight for what's right. He you will always be famous!
Comics are a visual medium and the way the story was told I felt really worked. For one only the gods get speech bubbles all the humans/mortals only speak in the text boxes and in the manner of a third person omniscient relaying their words.
Overall 3.75⭐
The Nice House on the Lake: The Deluxe Edition
Finally decided to give this a chance after the announcement of the sequel series.
The art was phenomenal, the writing was pretty good too this is so far the only of Tynion’s works I’ve clicked with. The story did meander around honestly it could’ve been shortened, it felt like a 6 issue concept spread over twice the length, although if it was shorter then there’d be less of Alvaro Bueno’s great art.
The cliffhanger ending was really unsatisfying like that’s it? No questions answered or anything? I guess now that the sequel’s out there’ll be more to the story. But it felt a bit nothing burger, the vibes were immaculate but man can not live off vibes alone.
The characters were alright but the leakages of “snarky/quirky millennial” speak/attitude with Ryan and a lesser extent Norah and the comedian guy really grated on me. But surprisingly i didn’t find of the characters annoying or unlikeable even Walter.
Speaking of Walter I do love comic horror/eldritch beings and he was so effectively creepy and pathetic. He was so toxic and manipulative it was great!
4.25 ⭐
Invisible Kingdom: Library Edition
Sci-fi space adventure with a unique feature being it's set in a solar system with no humans, all the characters are aliens. Which was fun I don't think I've ever read a no-human Sci-fi before.
Can't believe I'm saying this but sometimes things that are gay are worse. Genuinely Grix & Vess should've stayed platonic. Their relationship tanked my enjoyment it was so unnecessary especially because Grix and Eline worked better as a queer couple.
Also I get the message but it became stilted and awkward when the characters started becoming mouthpieces for the themes.
I do like how religion was handled, very realistic in how corrupt religious leaders/institutions manipulate and exploit religion for their own gain but also not being horrible about good religious people and those who actually want their religion to be used for good. Unsurprising as the writer is a practicing Muslim. Christian Ward's art is as ever excellent.
4 ⭐
We Only Find Them When They're Dead vol 1-3
I really don't know or understand what exactly was going on here. I love timeskips but these big jumps in time to totally different characters and those characters getting killed off was a choice I felt just didn't work. I didn't really feel as attached to the cast. Even the central mystery of the gods was resolved but also not really?
I also wasn't a fan of how religion/religious people were portrayed. Feels bad man when every religious person is an unhinged fanatical zealot willing to murder children without any remorse, or a charlatan whose exploiting the gullible stupid theists, the most postive depiction was an incompetent easily manipulated head priest and ugh.
The setting was interesting, yes it's another one of those capitalist dystopia space opera with rich core worlds and everybody else but idc I thought it was cool. The characters were interesting and watching how their twisty motivations usually put them in conflict with the other characters was very enjoyable.
Something I enjoyed was how it was a majority POC cast, too often in space opera it's usually the case of everybody is white but a few token POC who have less importance and are disposal and yeah 300 years into the future it will not be mostly white people running the show. Another plus was the casual queer representation two of main characters are mlm and had a thing, also a queer interracial couple involving only POC very rare to see.
The art was stunning, although Simmone does have a bit of same face syndrom going on lmao. Al Ewing took some big leaps with this and it's good to see his non Marvel/DC work but imo this could've done with more issues maybe an extra volume to really flesh things out.
A tentative 3.75 🌟
The Authority Vol 1 Book 1 & 2
Who's an edgy boi? You are! Yes you are. Coming out of the grim and gritty edgier superhero trend of the 90s & 2000s it was okay. The character concepts saved it more than anything. The use of rape and mass death was just unfortunate. And for all the groundbreaking work it did for gay male representation in superhero comics the 90s style homophobic was just a bit much.
I'm an edgelord so yes the ultra violence and 2Kewl4Scewl Attitude era WWE type heroes did appeal to me I'm not gonna lie. That's what I can say for Book 1 written by Warren Ellis, which gets a low 3.5 🌟
BTW Fuck Warren Ellis he's far more despicable than Millar because at least Millar's degeneracy is regulated to edgy shit comics.
Book 2 on the other hand...
Fuck mark millar what a talentless edgy hack. He didn’t get the memo that rampant racism rape & pedophilla + beastaility wasnt a substitute for actual good writing, like his bearly disguised abused asian rape doll fetish was skin crawling. Plus the pro authoritarianism bent but it’s okay because the Authority is always right! Not even the very few pleasant character moments could save this. What a waste Millar has the reverse midas touch, where everything he that has the misfortune of being written by him turns to nuclear waste.
The only good things being the art, some rare pleasant character moments, Midnighter & Apollos wedding ,which weren't enough to salvage this trainwreack Book 2 gets 2 🌟
Also am I tweaking or does the Authority have an issue with orientalism & anti Asian racism?(rhetorical question it does :/ )
#books#comics#book review#bookblr#comicblr#ODY-C#the nice house on the lake#Invisible Kingdom#We Only Find Them When They're Dead#the authority#finally actually talking about books#...I'm really only doing this so i can post a rant later and i don't want most of my book talk to be negative lmao

all the gen z vs millennials talk wasn’t bothering me that much yk it was kinda all fun and games even if some people take it too far by being “offended” by the generalization gap (which is on brand because they started being too attached to those words because gen x were being like “young people sucks” to them) but i have a problem when they start talking about pre teens and teenagers girls like one entity and dehumanizing them by using a word used in the sociological world to make broad generalizations and was never meant to be use to describe a small pourcentage of that demographic.
my biggest issue when it comes to talking like that is with ideas like:
“gen alpha are destroying shelf at sephora”
first of all it’s a very small pourcentage of teen kids. secondly, my niece is technically gen alpha and she’s only 2 months old bc genA ends in 2024 she obviously can’t do that shit and all the kids in kindergarten and elementary school aren’t either!
even if you consider gen alpha to “end” in 2022 or 2023 idc a lot of those kids are like 5 years old
obviously i’m also making generalizations about millennials here but you guys have no clue how long my block list is on tiktok and twitter (thankfully i haven’t encountered that behavior on here yet) because of how many 30 years old were acting like teenagers with the concept of generations
*googles how to force tiktok to ban millennials talking about millennials and even using the word*
NO ONE FUCKING CARED ABOUT THESE GENERATIONAL NAMES EXCEPT YALL !!!
also it started with usamericans and they’re still basically the only ones talking like a buzzfeed article from 2014 or something

I had some trans cake today that I found from the grocery store. It was with rainbow cake and they’re labeled “carnival cake” and not pride I guess, which is kind of annoying, but I KNOW the area I live in has a lot of pockets of old white republican people, so I’m SURE they would have complained.
Speaking of, been feeling off and on about being a trans girl. Today’s a bit of an off day. I want to be a girl but I don’t want to do any of the work to ‘pass’ really. I think I’m not too bad at least, but again, I’ve been seeing these republican/trump people around where I live and just... it makes me uncomfortable.
I don’t even want to post a picture of it, but today we had a truck parked in front of our home covered in all the most stupid bumper stickers like “I’m TRYIN’ to drive this way to PISS you off” and like Fox News stickers and all that typical stuff you see from those people, and I just thought like... These are the type of people that might hassle me. I can’t deal with that. I don’t want these kinds of people here, where I have to worry about what I look like in my own home.
Speaking of my area... here’s a couple of the kind of masks my gf @likes-words-and-shrimp and I like to wear
Masks are coming off
California got rid of our mask mandate everywhere here a little less than a week ago, and EVERYONE is taking them off everywhere and SO quickly. It’s really frustrating. I really like wearing a mask outside. They make me feel comfortable, they hide the hair on my face, some masculine parts of my face, etc. I’m already starting to feel like the odd-one out for wearing a mask and like... they just make me feel comfortable in my gender. I hope I’ll be able to keep wearing them without feeling judged.
Oh yeah it was my birthday
Some stuff I got from girlfriend again. I might have showed it earlier but who cares??
I had Fish Grill which is like my favorite. I just eat Alaskan Salmon and rice and beans and I feel like I could eat it for my whole life.
I’m 31 now and it doesn’t feel like much is different except my back hurts more often...
Had to call my family for it of course, which was stressful. I didn’t call them till like a week later even though they called me on the day. I just didn’t want to talk to them. They don’t know I’m trans and I don’t know if I’ll ever tell them or want to deal with it. When I finally did call, it was... all right. Nothing too bad. They misgender me which sucks, but I’ve never told them, so its not exactly their fault (yet)
my mom complained about people my age as per usual at some point. Like millennials have any money or power to do anything. After the call was over, I felt just off and weird and judged throughout the day and it reminded me why I don’t like calling my family.
PILLS here!
Right, last time I talked about anti-depressants. I got new ones recently and they make me feel a decent bit better. I’ve been taking half a dosage which was OK’d by my psychiatrist if I didn’t like how full made me feel. I think a full dosage actually DOES make me feel emotionally better and less stressed all around!
BUT! I think it also makes my back hurt? Just constant back pain?? I don’t know if this is true or not, it feels like I’m making this up, but when I go back to taking just half a pill again, it seems like my back doesn’t hurt as much?? And half a pill still has good effects on me overall and makes me a lot less anxious I think.
CREATIVE time??
I’m sure I’ve mentioned this a million times, but I’m STILL working on Hotel Wario (the big sequel to my Detective Luigi series) and I’ve only VERY recently starting finally writing it again. I’ll give you a little snippet, AND! I will show you a little surprise I got for it. A preview of a commission I got from @artpghero
The commission IS done and I look at it almost every day and feel energized into writing more of it! But I don’t want to show the full thing until this longfic is DONE.
Anyways, we’re still sitting at about 74k words here. I’m expecting the finished product to be around 90k, maybe even 100k? Probably not that long, but who knows. I’m really happy with how my creative works are going.
VIDEO GAAAAAAAAMES!
I have been playing video games as you all well know because those are what keep me going. I have a LOT I’ve played and I have feelings for them.
I played and beat Rabi Ribi and I really really liked it! This was a metroidvania that’s MUCH more open for exploring than actual Metroid or Castlevania and its got a cast of EXCLUSIVELY girls. The entire WORLD is cute/sexy anime girls and they are all CANONICALLY gay with each other, so you can be sure this will be one of my favorite games I played this year.
Played a game called Genesis Noir on Game Pass. Pretty neat artsy little point and click. Almost no dialogue. Over in a few hours. Was a cool experience where you just go through trippy and pretty art and try to understand WTF is going on. (The picture is probably gonna look terrible on tumblr, idc)
In the middle of playing Ghost of a Tale on Game Pass right now, and this game has been a GEM for me. I did not know anything about it or what I was getting into, but I really like it. You basically just play as a lil mouse friend and you go exploring this really interesting fantasy world and learning about the lore and characters. It feels like a fantasy book that you get to just sort of meander around in. Not much gameplay to speak of, a bit tedious but I just love the writing and feel of the world and that’s clearly what’s most important in this game. We’ll see how much I keep liking it as time goes on!
OTHER media??
I’m still reading Gideon the Ninth. It’s still cool! I like it. I can’t say anything new about it other than its still gay, its still necromancery, and its still got really cool environments and is still fairly funny.
As for anime, I’m mostly just watching Slayers now, and I ADORE Slayers. We’re on Slayers Try now, and I just... I love everyone. It’s a good show, it’s good nostalgia, it is just good.
AND UH....
I think that’s good enough for now. I probably talked overly much here, but that’s about the gist of things. Yeah, my life is kind of just going to the grocery store and playing video games and hoping I will write. But it’s been okay. The day itself today has been pretty meh, but like 90% of my days are good and I’m content, and I know for a fact I’ll be feeling better very soon so I’m not too bothered. Thank you pills. Let’s hope they keep working and I keep gettin em.

...so this is (hopefully) my last original post on this topic bc unless i see a take shittier than any i’ve already seen, i’m gonna take my own advice and shift my political focus to union and grassroots efforts. Anyway:
Electoral politics are less impactful than union efforts ffs the general election has a set number of outcomes and they're all predictable and they all suck for the working classes can any wannabe socialists please educate themselves on American imperialism and also the effectiveness of unions instead of posting about the general election? Bc both those issues are more important towards an actual revolution of the working classes than any mind bending hypocritical defense of Biden or Harris you could give me.
I fucking swear if there's one statement I'm sick of by now it's that "well unless you can figure out a revolution before November, you better start simping for Biden, honey"
This isn't a new sentiment, motherfucker. You and everyone's mother and even dumbass little old freshly minted voter me was saying it four years ago. And yeah, there wasn't a revolution before 2016 November. But you know what else there wasn't? A revolution in the four years since. And you know what else there won't be? A revolution in the next four years (definitely not under Biden, probably not under Trump).
It's almost like the American military, a military designed for global imperialism, a military which commits human rights violations on the regular while the UN does fuck all, accompanied by a militarized police force, is too armed to be taken out by citizens.
Now the people who make this statement typically believe that the REAL way to enact change is from within, via voting. Voting can, theoretically, do a lot to give people power. In practice, it can still do a little. Personally, I support voting because it's just one more piece of red tape for the elites to deal with. We will never be allowed to vote a socialist in as president in the United States. But we could maybe vaguely irritate and waste the time of the elites who will maintain power regardless. For a good rundown on all the ways we can’t enact real change, I’d recommend checking out the end of Malcolm Harris’ Kids These Days: The Making of Millennials
And fuck it, sure, vote Biden. Just as long as you don't become a doormat in the process. Biden is a small step right while Trump is a giant leap right and there are arguments for why Biden is better. But those arguments are not "but he's not Trump" (see Žižek on Marine Le Pen) and they are not "but he's an inch to left and if we keep inching left we'll reach socialism eventually" and they are not "Biden will allow America to be imperial but like in a nice way". They can be "we can pressure him a bit left" BUT only if you don't preface that with "oh please Mr Biden step on my face if it means getting rid of Trump you could literally kill my wife and I'd still vote for you" bc idk if you know this but saying that is also called surrendering your ability to pressure a politician.
At the local level, we can enact small changes that will NEVER add up to real structural change, but they can still help a few people here and there and really that's enough for me to put an afternoon into voting. It's like charity. No amount of charitable donations will end global poverty (see Jason Hickel’s The Divide), but the donations that actually get to people do make a difference, just at the individual level. (Or how neither tipping nor not tipping will fix the shitty system of underpaid wait staff, but at least with a tip the individual worker gets paid).
America, regardless of its leader, is too powerful, too imperial, and fundamentally cannot and will not exist in a world where the material stability of any and all persons is an expected right. If we lived in an easier world, the entire (yes the entire) American government could be thrown back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. Unfortunately, we cannot do this.
Anyway this is all a very long and complicated way of saying that 1: the federal government is too big and holds too much power to exist, idc how left-wing the top dog is (not that they'll ever be particularly left-wing); 2: there will very likely not be a successful revolution in the traditional sense of the word (though if there is all you blue no matter who pseudo socialist fucks had better be out there supporting it); 3: unions can help to dismantle concentrations of power in the government and will do more towards a revolution than calling people Russian ever will; 4: so will educating yourself on America's imperialism, human rights violations, and exploitation of the global south
If you're giving leftists phrases like "I'm a socialist but" or "I don't see this magical revolution that needs to happen before November", then here's a statement for you to mull over: six months of simping for Biden online will do less to effect real progressive change than a single afternoon spent helping unions
#damn isn't it funny how we have very little political power as individuals#but as a collective of individuals we do have the ability to influence culture#and through culture politics#and one of the big things we can do is carefully select our language#and apparently the collective that is liberal social media#has decided that the most empowering language to use to prevent fascism#is demanding that people do something they find morally repulsive without question or criticism#and then pretending like those demands are in fact the only ethical things that can be said in the realm of politics?#wouldn't it be neat if we oh idk deliberately used language on social media to remind politicians that they are servants?#language as power has strong limitations of course#but as i said we have very little power#might want to not squander the scraps that haven't been taken from us yet#at least as long as it's... u know... quick and easy and costs 0 dollars to not use language that reinforces the power of the elites#regardless of the so-called ethics of the individual elite

Communication Training Western Australia
SOME EFFECTIVE TIPS FOR DEVELOPING COMMUNICATION SKILLS
t's a very normal fantasy that recent college grads are languid, entitled, need duty and before they even put their foot through the entryway, they're searching for the following huge thing. The considerable thing about legends is that they're only that, they aren't authentic. Be that as it may, there is a comment said in regards to twenty to thirty-year-olds getting lost behind smartphones, tablets and PCs and the departed craft of penmanship, that may call attention to something that isn't a fantasy: immature Communication Skills
Disclaimer: I will be the first to concede, I am a millennial and I am totally protective of my companions with the theme comes up. Is there any good reason why i wouldn't be? There are stacks of us in the workforce at this moment, a large number of which began from the base, and moving their way up. I need my associates to succeed on the grounds that we are the future pioneers. So don't believe I'm simply staying here on my overinflated ego hatin' on my associates. I'm definitely not. Twenty to thirty-year-olds make them astound qualities: they're committed, driven laborers, the most noteworthy taught workforce, and need to feel some portion of a group as well as work someplace with reason. So twenty to thirty-year-olds aren't too awful, however, we need to discuss the obvious issue at hand sooner or later.
Innovation and Millennials: Where It All Began
In the event that you recollect our relationship with innovation, and how for a considerable lot of us, it formed our lives as we probably am aware it. A few of us got our first PCs in 1995 and had our first since forever experience with that irritating little paperclip. Chocolate-bar style mobile phones turned into an important, if not overwhelming, malicious, but rather helped us make another dialect, IDC G2G, TTYL that finished all of us adulthood. The web, Google and Wikipedia changed the way we discover data; never again expected to go to libraries and chase down dewy-decimal codes for answers. Facebook changed the way we collaborated with our companions, to how we interface with individuals, and how to piece mum from seeing pictures of you from that one night you would prefer not to discuss. Twitter helped us refine our contemplations to 140 character limits. Images helped us make inside jokes, while GIFs and emoticons enable us to exhibit what verbal communication just can't (and FYI – don't send an eggplant emoticon to your colleague since that could in all likelihood be lewd behavior). I can't neglect to say wearables that let us know with information in case we're excessively lethargic and require, making it impossible to run 'round the piece a couple of times. Cell phones give us access to nearly all that we need, need and want at the touch of a unique finger impression (or asking Siri). Most would agree that innovation did in truth change the course of how this age conveys on an everyday premise, and with computerized disturbance having not a single end to be seen, there's a decent shot innovation will just keep on evolving Millennial (and how about we not overlook our younger siblings and sisters-Gen Z) communication skills too.
HR and L&D pioneers: make a stride back and take a gander at methods for understanding the communication skills hole through successful training that addresses twenty to thirty year olds. So how would you do this?
Step by step instructions to Develop the Soft Skills in Your Millennial Employees
As per Manpower Group's current study on Millennials, 93% of twenty to thirty year olds see progressing skills improvement as a vital piece of their future vocations. And afterward PwC's Millennials at Work: Reshaping the Workplace whitepaper, express that 35% of recent college grads discover training and improvement openings alluring parts of an imminent manager, alongside 65% discovering profession movement the key victor. Coming to an obvious conclusion here, we can see this is extraordinary news for associations, Human Resources and Learning and Development chiefs. Since recent college grads have that ability and commitment to build up their own delicate skills, it's simply a question of how, and an organized training system can be an alluring way to deal with achieve and hold millennial staff, particularly in the event that they know it will enable them to advance professionally. Approve, so we know the advantages, great. So here's a few hints to kick it into high gear:
Build up a training program that tends to the vital delicate skills, similar to communication skills. There are a wide range of training styles to suit the person. Regardless of whether it's a mixed blend of up close and personal (F2F), online e-learning courses, individual learning systems, social learning, down to earth at work involvement and perception. There are various ways you can build up your training program. It's tied in with finding the correct blend of conveyance strategies to accomplish the most ideal result – and have it fit inside your L&D spending plans.
Be that as it may, recollect your millennial gathering of people! Twenty to thirty year olds adore innovation – so don't overlook this when you're assembling a training program. A F2F training session on "compelling communication" with a PowerPoint slide deck most likely won't get the outcomes you're searching for. As a millennial, I know I like to gain from a blend of self-coordinated learning (I'll save my nighttimes to get up to speed with a MOOC from Coursera to build up my skills or side-premiums), social learning (Quora, Reddit, and different discussions where I can extinguish my hunger for new thoughts), e-learning (yes, we do take our own courses here at Learning Seat) and from the typical at work stuff that we invest 70% of our energy in (ah, 70:20:10). Be that as it may, one thing I've learnt? The main way I can deal with F2F training if it's as drawing in as a Ted Talk, it's intuitive and depends on helpful support. While I don't represent 100% of the millennial populace, it's constantly great to check your crowd and what they discover helpful to gain from. Bear in mind to use the full abilities of your Learning Management System (LMS) to track and report your student's advancement in the event that you are utilizing eLearning modules as a feature of your training program.
Begin at the absolute starting point, to get the most out of your delicate skills training program. What are the communication guidelines in your association? Is communication one of your association's organization esteems and your working environment culture? What delicate skills will new contracts need to truly flourish in your association? What does your corporate structure look like and what are the desires for their new part on an everyday premise with regards to conveying and working together with key partners? A compelling onboarding system can help incorporate recent college grads into your association, and sets a reasonable course on delicate ability desires and necessities to truly flourish in their new part.
Set an arrangement for vocation objectives, and what points of reference recent college grads need to reach to arrive. Let recent college grads realize that your association will offer them the profession movement that they're searching for. Make an improvement design. Feature the way that delicate skills, for example, communication skills, critical thinking help with long haul initiative and administrative parts, and it's basic to meet points of reference, and finish training to draw nearer to those profession objectives.
Make a mentorship program for your recent college grads. An organized, tutoring project can enable millennial representatives to get input, training and support from somebody inside the association that won't not be their immediate administrator. Tutoring twenty to thirty year olds give an inside take a gander at what it takes to be somebody at an official level, and take in direct from them what it takes to convey adequately at the best. Also, if twenty to thirty year olds do have optimistic profession objectives to one-day fill their coach's seat, it's an extraordinary chance to perceive what it takes to arrive.
Try not to sit tight for that yearly execution audit to give input. As specified before, persistent input is key for overseeing recent college grads. They're an age quick to develop and build up their skills, and they need to recognize what they're doing and how they could be improving. Sitting tight a year for that execution survey won't cut it. Consider setting up a private Slack channel where you can give nonstop, particular input in a way that isn't disciplinary (and startling), yet rather a method for instructing your millennial worker and telling them you're on a similar group working towards similar objectives. Utilizing a social channel like Slack, can help make a discussion and make negative criticism less cumbersome. Besides you can toss in a motivational image, or a thumbs up GIF to help the discussion.
not-certain if-positive-or-negative-input
Comprehend your millennial worker and how they have to get criticism to succeed. On a more individual level, when one of my best administrators (now companion), gave me input, he didn't sugar coat anything besides he additionally didn't make it an individual assault. The no-BS approach (see: radical openness), functioned admirably with the working relationship I had with my administrator (circumstantially, likewise a millennial), yet additionally my own particular identity and my qualities. It tested my mentality, my activities and my yield, however emphatically. It additionally demonstrated to me that my supervisor sufficiently minded to be totally straight-forward, and needed me to prevail past simply my part at that organization. While I'm not overlooking this approach as it won't not work for everybody, and cautioning: could apparently be marginal hostile if not done accurately, but rather it is completely vital for administrators to comprehend their individual representatives inside their groups and how they have to get criticism to flourish. Since toward the day's end, what worked for me, won't not work for the following individual in my group. It's tied in with building a successful working relationship where you can take advantage of their expert improvement needs and give them the suitable help, instructing and input, in a way that will impact them the most, when you have to.
