Bespoke (2024): BBC Sherlock is flawed and bogged down by increasingly poor writing, which many fans refused to see while it was airing, leading to hugely misplaced expectations (particularly for the final series), AND it has the seeds of some compelling characterizations and portrayals, some genuinely solid performances, and touches--albeit imperfectly--on complexities that are still being discussed today (particularly as it relates to the relationship between Sherlock and John). The huge cultural impact of the show has created a massive pendulum effect in its public perception, leading to most people today remembering a caricature of the show (whether positive or negative) rather than appreciating its nuanced merits and failings...that being said Season 4 sucked

thinking about how the first time i ever actually got gale killed in a fight was in my first origin gale run, which also happened to be my first time playing an origin character— so it startled me when not only was gale thrown into actual literal lava, but i was also thrown into control of the next character in my party setup (astarion) and gale was suddenly talking to me at length, after like 30-ish hours of silence, about the long and complex process to reviving him so that he didnt Fucking Nuke the entire underdark.

and you know. i did what anyone would do: panic use a regular revivify scroll to bring him back and not touch his true resurrection scroll with a ten foot pole. because i didnt understand a single fucking word he said. it worked out fine by the way, he didnt nuke a whole ecosystem, but it did scare the shit out of me for no reason.

Jokes aside, it took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that the player character is a bird-man creature (originally thought he was a lizard or dragon man). Then I saw an interview with the developers who specifically said that he's a "bird guy". Huh.

Anyway, after looking a bit more closely at the mirror segments, this is how my brain saw him. Was supposed to just be a rough sketch, but I guess I went ham with detail lines and paint. He's a little bit disproportionate, but he's like a monster dude, so...

thinking about Naruto Clash of Ninja (the first Gamecube game) and how in it when u pit Iruka and Kakashi against each other they're like

Kakashi: Careful now, don't overdo it.

And how, when I was a kid I was CONVINCED that they were flirting. I didn't even know what Naruto OR flirting was! My grandparents just got it and the Gamecube in a raffle and I played it knowing nothing.

Anyway the point of this post is that my eight year old self was absolutely right they're definitely married.
