reading The Protector of the Small quartet again for the ????th time (could be as many as the twentieth or more tbh, they're sorta my top comfort reads) and my brain keeps being stuck on Wyldon's character this time around. like he's just FASCINATING. I've rarely read a character who is presented as such a complete fucking asshole who does such a 180 in my estimation in a way that's nuanced and COMPLETELY EARNED, while still staying the same fundamental person at the core, and still being allowed to be flawed. (because oh boy he is flawed) I rank him with Zuko in Top Fantasy Character Redemptions of All Time. I hate him. I love him. some thoughts from this read-through: -he's autistic. like he's just SO very autistic it almost hurts, and half of the reason Kel and him end up eventually understanding and respecting each other so well is exactly for this reason. he's so This Is the Way Things Should Be Done Because The Rules Say So and he is SO rigid and specific but also he EVOLVES and that's a fascinating dichotomy -this is also the SAME reason that Neal and him get along like oil on water, because they are both autistic but Opposite, it's like the personality equivalent of trying to get two hedgehogs to hug -that being said Lord Wyldon RESPECTS Neal in a really bizarre way, or at least understands him? He'd never admit that but that one moment in Lady Knight when he's explaining to Kel about why he picked her for Haven's commander, and he says that he CONSIDERED Neal FOR THE JOB? but said that he thought Neal was 'too fair' and essentially that he would simultaneously care too much and be too irreverent with the refugees, not be objective like Kel would be? again. fascinating. -Owen being Wyldon's squire is such a wild combination of personalities that ALSO should not work at all, because Owen is pure !!!! and Wyldon is like :/, but then my brain was like: oh. Owen is basically a over-excited puppy and Wyldon loves dogs -when Kel rescues Lalasa at the end of Page & passes out, then wakes up to Wyldon and her mum in the room and her mum is arguing with Wyldon about Kel's schedule and stuff. I somehow never really registered before that she FIRST NAMES HIM. She calls him Wyldon, not Lord Wyldon, and is comfortable enough to berate him. do they fucking KNOW EACH OTHER from when they were younger? WHAT IS THE STORY THERE? now I'm remembering when Wyldon got all surprised to hear the story of Illane fighting off the Scanran bandits and saving the sacred swords of the Yamani Islands. hm. interesting. much to consider.
-the bit where Wyldon is like OH SHIT the pages nearly got killed because tradition dictates I don't teach them actual battle strategy and tactics. and I fucking love tradition but I also love pages not being dead, so I guess I better get my shit together on that one.
-or when he QUITS as training master because he's like 'damn toxic masculinity fucked these kids up and I'm kinda partially to blame for that. I gotta get my shit together', and he's like the best thing that came out of being training master was having you as a page. and acknowledges he nearly fucked that up too? -while we're on the subject of 'what went through Wyldon's head' WHEN KEL RAN OFF TO SCANRA AND THEN CAME BACK HAVING BASICALLY WON THE WAR FOR THEM? AND HE WAS SO DISCOMBOBULATED HE ACCIDENTALLY AGREED WITH NEAL? -speaking of the end of Page earlier, i wanna read or possibly write a fic about what went through Wyldon's head when Kel didn't show up to the big examinations, because I think that's SUCH a turning point for his character. Like yes he respected Kel and let her stay before that, but the way he's so clearly kicking himself in the aftermath, going to far as to rope in Duke Turomot, and INVOKE THE GODDESS IN HIS PRAYER FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER.... what happened when he had to give the command to start the examinations without her? Like it really struck me that he must have thought 'oh. she gave up after all' and I think part of him might have been disappointed, and part of him *relieved* because he was still clinging to those old attitudes despite everything. And to find out he was wrong? That she hadn't given up, but had sacrificed everything she had worked for in the finest single demonstration of true chivalry and courage he had probably ever witnessed from a page? like damn. Lord Wyldon of Cavall you funky, fucked up man, I want to study you like a bug

RNZ interview mirror - the original file is exactly 700 kb too big for tumblr so I had to compress it slightly 🙃
Transcript under the cut!
YouTube megastars Dan and Phil will be coming to Aotearoa next week with a live show full of scandalous stories. For those who don't know them, these two Brits invented being internet famous. Coming to stardom in 2009, the pair have amassed a media empire with over 40 million combined followers, 2 billion views on YouTube, as well as a handful of best-selling books. Dan and Phil went on hiatus in 2018, with each coming out as gay soon after. This is their first tour together since then. The show is called Terrible Influence and it's coming to Auckland's Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre next Thursday, the 19th of December. I caught up with Dan and Phil earlier on the line from Australia.
DnP: Hello.
(Interviewer laughs)
D: Sorry, was that a weird stereo hello there? That must have been disturbing.
I: That's exactly how I wanted you to answer the call.
P: Yes, that's how we speak all the time. D: We share one braincell.
I: You speak in unison.
P: Yes. (laughs)
I: Because you two have lived together for quite some time, haven't you? D: We have. I: Not only working together for many years.
D: Yeah, like imagine like being really fed up with your co-worker and then you want to come home and you want to be like, God, this guy, I can't stand him. Like, what are we doing here, people?
P: Then he's in your house.
I: How long have you lived together for?
D: Errr, fourteen- P: No. D: No, thirteen- twel- P: Twelve years. I want to say twelve years. D: Twelve years, but it feels like 2000. Do you know what I mean? P: Time is not real. We don't know what's going on. D: At this point, we're like, you know, when you go to a zoo and there's two elderly tortoises that are about 400 years old. P: Yeah. D: That's how we feel. P: Yeah.
I: I'm glad that you've decided to, you know, take air travel to get to New Zealand.
D: It's literally the furthest place from home we could ever. So we get some tweets from people that are like, Dan and Phil, thank you for coming to New Zealand because, by golly, you've travelled a bit of a way. But hey, we're happy to be there. New Zealand is a beautiful country. P: Yes. D: And so are the people.
P: Whenever I come to New Zealand, I just want to move to New Zealand. I'm like, why am I in London when I could be in this beautiful, verdant land?
D: A lot of people do abandon for New Zealand and we understand why.
I: Yeah. Yeah. I'm glad that you do understand that. And it's your first big tour back since coming out in 2018. D: It is. I: The show is kind of a little bit like a gossip session. Is that right? Setting some things straight?
D: Absolutely. We're people that have been on the internet for a very long time and people have talked a lot of smack about us over the years, as a lot of people do with anyone with a lot of followers. And we're like, you know what? We all deserve to look back at our past. We all deserve to be roasted for the things that we did and said. That includes us being embarrassing and what our audience were like when they were all teenagers on the internet. But if we have a bit of a therapy session slash Catholic confession, we can end it with a bit of a hug and a pat on the back and go, it's okay. We survived. Here we are now in 2024. So it's like a roast and a healing session at the same time.
I: That must be quite an interesting thing because, you know, you both grew up on the internet and made so much content. You have this huge following that you've built. And so many people work really hard to kind of erase their former selves online. And that's probably something that you cannot do.
D: Oh, no. I would love to. It's too late. P: That's the thing as well. Sometimes our audience know us better than we know ourselves because they watch these videos so much. I never watch my videos back ever. So they'll come up to us at a meet and greet like, remember that thing you did in 2014? I'm like, no. D: No, I don't. P: I don't know what I said or did. D: But Phil, you love this ice cream flavour. P: Yeah. Speaking of ice cream, I'm excited for the Hokey Pokey ice cream. That was the thing I remember in New Zealand. I: It is good.
D: Yeah. Someone said, hey, you're excited to have it again. I was like, what was that? P: We don't have that. D: Don't you remember the time that you had it? P: No. D: Here, I've got this photo on my phone. P: Yeah. I'm going to have some more when I get there for sure.
D: That is not the main reason why we made the travel, but it will help with the jet lag.
P: It's 80% of the reason, I'll be honest.
I: Why is the show called Terrible Influence?
D: I think there's this idea that everyone on the internet, all these creators, all these TikTokers and podcasters are just horrible people that are trying to sell you some kind of crypto scam. And the truth is 90% of them are. And the question that we're asking is, were we terrible? What did we do to all these young people that watch it? Maybe the other question is, what did they do to us? Is what we do inherently bad? Is it a two-way street? Well, maybe we can answer that question and along the way just giggle so much that we kind of forgive and forget.
I: I'm sure you have a pretty good idea of the extent of your influence. But being in high school in New Zealand when Dan and Phil were first starting out, it was almost like a code word. (Dan laughs) It was how weirdos, kind of, identified with each other.
P: I think we've always been happy to kind of have representation for the slightly alternative people of the world.
D: Yeah, we like to joke that it's for the goths, the girls, the gays and the geeks. Any type of person that feels like on any level, they may not be completely mainstream. They may not be vanilla. They might feel other in any kind of way. We have an audience and we look out now because you understand when all these people were 14, it kind of looked like they were all teenagers. Now that they're all adults, some people are coming up to us, they're like, hi, Dan and Phil, meet my child. (laughs) But all these people have been in such different journeys in life. But it's knowing that, you know, back in the day, there was a place where no matter what kind of person they are, they felt like, you know what? Here in this comment section with these guys, I can just be myself and that makes me happy. I think whether that is something that we did do intentionally or it's an accidental byproduct of our influence, we'll take it.
P: And a lot of them have grown up with us as well. That's the lovely thing. So we're meeting people now that are just much older, but they're still watching the videos because we've- we've grown up and they've grown up as well.
I: Absolutely. And you took this hiatus, you know, from the internet. How long was that hiatus for and what was the impetus for it? And for coming back?
D: It was five dark years. P: Five years. D: And there was no Dan and Phil in the world until one day, like Jesus, we returned and here we are now.
P: We did. I think it's always a good thing to kind of have a moment where you're like, what's going on in life? Have a reset. And and I think we're kind of back now.
D: You know, like when everyone, you know, there was a pandemic and then they were like, you know what? My relationship, my job, you have decided it's not for me. I think we were trendsetters there. We did that early, voluntarily style, because we'd been going nonstop since 2009. And I was like, I just need to hit the brakes and look around for a little bit. And then I came back and I was like, hi, guys, I'm gay now. And they were like, ah, yes, that makes sense. But sometimes you have to hit the brake in life in order to take the space, look around you, take stock of things, make decisions. And ultimately, when you come back, it'll be healthier and happier.
P: And we didn't know this Dan and Phil thing- Like when we came back, we're like, do you guys still want these videos? And then, like, the reaction has been incredible, like, so many people watching the gaming channel. D: To the extent people thought Dan and Phil, you need to go on a tour right now. You need to get your butts all the way to Auckland (laughs) because I've been waiting for you to come back and we need to have a good night together. P: Yeah.
I: Yeah. And get out from behind the screen and kind of just interact face to face. You two are hugely into gaming and it's been quite a good pivot from YouTube to kind of try and be more successful, I guess. It's incredible how popular you are on these platforms. Can you tell me a little bit more about how that works and how you kind of make a career out of this?
D: Well, Phil's been doing it so long that he did it before YouTube could even monetize videos. He was doing it purely out of boredom and passion for the craft. P: Yeah. D: That's terrifying.
P: I'm a YouTube dinosaur. But I think with the gaming, we've got a Sims series, which we've got- how many episodes now? Like- D: Oh a hundred or so. P: A hundred episodes. And I think people follow along the journey with us playing the games. And it's like, I guess it's like when you were a little kid and you're watching your big brother play a video game. It's kind of that thing. You're just like watching along, having the bants. So I think what the people come to our videos for is more of the personality and us having a laugh rather than getting really into gaming.
D: Yeah! I mean, gaming is just the topic. It's like any type of TV or radio talk or commentary show, it could be about football, it could be about music and pop culture or the news, you just want to see people that you relate to, that you find entertaining, doing something that you find interesting and then you pair it together, and for lots of people they go: yeah! This is what i want to see P: Yeah.
I: Phil, how have you noticed the kind of gaming culture change over time, and was that something you're a little bit hesitant about, you know coming out as gay in that kind of domain, because we know generally that - you know, over the last decade-
D: The gamers are the worst demographic in the world absolutely- I: Things have changed. D: We’ve been on the internet since the ancient times and it's hard to say, like in a way obviously the internet these days, it feels like it's more terrible than ever, but in a sense it is a lot less toxic and a lot more wholesome and inclusive than it used to be.
P: Yeah, I'd say coming out on the internet is always going to be a scary thing, when you're saying that and being kind of vulnerable in front of so many people. Thankfully we've got such a great audience that the reaction was incredible, I would say.
D: And i think that what's great about the internet is that people can find their own communities, so even within spaces that you might think, oh they're dominated by this type of person – any subculture, any type of person that feels like, I want this space for myself – you can find it. If you want to order you know a ping pong club for girls with ginger hair called Susan that drink wine on a Tuesday, you can start that discord server, people will love it.
I: And I think it's nice to have those pocket on the internet where people can feel safe and can kind of commune together. You will be playing the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, on December the 19th. What about people who didn't grow up watching you, who think you might be quite funny right now. Like what could you say to them if you want them to come to your show?
P: I'd say, well luckily for you we have got a whole section of the start of the show which is the complete history of Dan and Phil in five minutes, so if you might have just slightly known who we are and be like, what's going on with these guys? We're going to catch you up in no time.
D: A lot of people drag their boyfriends, their sisters, sometimes like that mum that you need to drive you so you can have a couple of cocktails to the show, and we're like we need something for these people, we're going to catch them up, we're going to get them on our side, and if we have a spot- there's like a grumpy dad folding his arms in row three, I'm like, I'm going to crack you P: but- D: My mission for the night is you're going to be belly laughing by the end. P: They're always smiling at the end though. That's the thing, we do. We do crack them.
I: Oh and this will be your last show before a well deserved Christmas break, then back into the new year. What will Christmas look like for both of you?
P: I mean we're going to try and get home for Christmas. D: Yeah, yeah the question is, can we get back from Auckland on the 21st of December? P: Twenty- yeah. I think it's gonna be a challenge to get all the way home, but then I'm probably just gonna be asleep on my mum's sofa with jet lag, hoping to drink a lot of cocktails. D: I'm gonna slip into a nice coma.
I: I'm really glad to hear you are back together again.
D: Oh, well thank you! We really, really appreciate it and we're so excited for the show, so thank you New Zealand. P: Nice speaking to you!

Hi! Can I Request a dom! Poseidon and or Hades x female sub!wife reader who is sweet/shy, and kinda oblivious, and they just got married and are trying to navigate their life together as newlyweds. I think logically they would have na age gap as well because I believe (could be mistaken in Poseidon’s case) that their wives were younger than them in the myths. If you could make them dotting towards reader too (bit colder than the depths of the sea/Underworld to everyone else), I just really want a sweet obsessive take on their relationship without them being too ooc if this makes sense. Kinda like they fell for reader and they fell harder almost Yandere level obsessed with her. I really loved your Hades x male reader but really want to see you take on this if it’s not too much to ask. I hope my word vomit makes sense.
This is such a cute idea 😆 thank you!
Note : hades and Poseidon are not romantic/ or shipped to each other! ⚠️ I do not support incest. They are only romantic towards reader, but not each other. Cus they are brothers. They only have love towards their darling.
Hades + Poseidon × reader headcanons.
Tumblr media
- tbh, how on earth did you bag not one, but TWO of the strongest gods there is? That's crazy...😭
- not only did you get hades, but Poseidon??? Now you must have accomplished some sort of feat to earn him. Or you were just very loved by the gods. Let's all nod our heads in agreement.
- Considering that there are two of them, gotta say that you take turns being with each of the two.
- it's not very tiring, at least you get a free ride to the underworld and the sea each time you are transported. For example, one day you go to hades, the next day you go with Poseidon. Easy.
- but, it's not always like that. They've insisted on taking you into their own place. but to make things fair, you'd be staying in a completely different home.
- actually, you know what? To make things funnier, what if you were Odin's daughter/daughter figure? You'd be staying with him instead. You have your own room in his place, away from those...bastards..or that's what he liked to call it.
- Like imagine the faces of your beloved darling's when they find you missing. Now that? That really sent them berserk. Harsher and colder than usual, and absolutely will not stop until they found you. Until they did. In Odin's place.
- Bro they all had a staring challenge I swear on my left toe. Like imagine Odin's face when he opens the door to find two gentlemen standing there pissed. And he just responds with "what can I do for you?" With a bitch face.
"I'm here to look for my wife"
"OUR wife, Brother."
"same thing."
- Odin took that personally.
- he was about to say that you weren't there, until you immediately showed up. Your presence filling the room to be more breathable and fresh. You ran over to them happily, embracing them with open arms.
- but let's just say you were pretty oblivious to the death glares they all pointed at each other, a silent warning not to touch you.
- but now let's move on to random ass headcanons I thought about.
- one time a guy called you cute and you never heard from him again. I wonder what happened..
- naughty time with these two is literal heaven. You'd be full in all holes bruv. Do not lie to me, I know what y'all are 🙄
- there would be times where they both have to combine their interests to pick out a dress for you. Believe me, your room is full of so many gifts from both the gods. Trinkets, dresses, jewelry, fancy useless stuff that you find pretty. ANYTHING.
- I can just imagine how sweet and nice they are towards you. someone else tries to talk to to them, they are as cold as the deepest depths of their realms. The moment you enter, they turn their whole personality 360 degrees from what they just displayed earlier.
- and no they will not take flirting from others lightly. A nymph approaches Poseidon? He'd be like, "I'm not interested." Hades?"I'm busy, kindly do not disturb me."
- they aren't really fond of wearing rings, but they do anyway. It's proof of their hold over you, and how they love you lots. You cook for them (or at least you try) and clean around the place.
- you were literally housewife material, maybe a mother one day. At least they hope.
- and as long as you stay, they won't inflict too much harm on anything or anyone. Unless it did smth to you. Let's not talk about it though.
- and yeah.

Piggybacking off the last anon, what is it you like about Jane so much? I find my feelings on her kind of mixed but I lean towards positive.
okay i haven’t read act six in probably like 5 years so bear with me here. *cracks knuckles*
jane is sooo so interesting and it’s really a shame people miss like everything fun about her.
pre-scratch she used her detective work to literally succeed at tearing down the crocker cooperation, to the point that HIC has to fucking abandon ship and head into another universe to have another shot at her evil empire. pre-scratch jane is also fucking hilarious! if you didnt enjoy her antics with john as nannasprite you must just have no heart
meanwhile HIC breaches a new universe, and her FIRST fucking order of business is to NEUTRALIZE JANE CROCKER because of how goddamn detrimental she was to HIC’s plans the first time around.
not ONLY does HIC pump subliminal messaging and brainwashing into nearly every aspect of jane’s life, she also tries to straight up mind control her basically whenever possible! she ALSO sends assassination attempts after jane 24/7! (people will seriously try to say that jane lived a safe normal life… as if she wasn’t almost killed by walking into her backyard.) this is because HIC is fucking scared of jane, as she very well should be!
jane is also NOT a boring weepy annoying crybaby like everyone and their mother complains about. jane is literally the most fucking supportive friend and emotion-repressing dumbass you could ever hope to meet. jane combines john’s emotional repression and jade’s intentional cheerfulness together into one of the most fucked up cases of emotional repression in the whole comic
act 6 suffers from a LOT of shitty writing choices, but it’s not jane’s fault the whole act turns into a soap opera— and she’s ALSO not the only one who acts all soap-opera-y either! literally all of the alpha kids suffer from this, people just like jane the least so they project it all onto her. despite the fact that she did her very fucking best to NEVER talk about her feelings, to the point where she ONLY started telling people about shit when she was mind-controlled or took mind altering substances to make her do so! and you can say “ohhh that’s stupid she shouldn’t repress things in the first place how dumb” but, one she’s sixteen, and two, everyone eats that shit up when it comes from like. literally any other character.
people (cough hs2 writers) act like she would actually be “pushy” with a relationship on jake— as if she wasn’t literally the one who helped him make the decision to explore dating dirk?? because she thought it was the right thing to do???
jane is incredibly thoughtful and mature and people really throw all of those traits out of the window with preference for a version of the story where she Comes Inbetween Their Fave Gay Pairing as if she wasn’t, again, the one who got them together. jane is also extremely interesting in terms of queerness; she’s got the makings of a really interesting arc, not to mention she’s the only human girl that dresses mainly masc! there’s a lot there that people just don’t care to explore.
people just have less patience for the prospit kids in general. not to mention homestuck fans love to be misogynistic and berate jane for stuff they love the men doing, or claim she’s coming between them when she’s not, etc etc. and then because no one was writing fun meta posts about her, nobody ever rereads the comic to grab little scenes or lines to expand the online discussion about her! and then because there’s no discussion about her, people assume she’s boring and don’t go looking for bits to start discussing, which cycles on and on forever until we have the ripple effects we see of that misogyny today. which mostly consists of, “oh i hate jane because she was a villain is hs2”, or, “i know hs2 isn’t canon but i still don’t care for jane because she doesn’t do anything that interests me.” (and she’s only not interesting because of the cycle i mentioned before causing NO ONE to have meta discussion about her).
idk, it’s been a while since ive read so i could be talking out my ass but that’s what i’ve got.
TL;DR: jane is fucking COOL, she just suffers from intentional fandom ignorance. and she’s also a canonically hot, fat, masc woman, so i don’t know what else you could possibly want.

You step into Stark Tower, the high-tech doors sliding open with a soft whoosh, revealing the sleek, modern interior. It’s your first time visiting Bruce here, and although you’ve been to labs and research centers your whole life, this place feels… different. It’s buzzing with an energy that’s almost alive, a sense of invention, chaos, and genius wrapped together in steel and glass.
Bruce greets you at the entrance with that warm, shy smile you’ve known all your life. He wraps you in a hug, a bit more tightly than usual. You can feel the tension in his shoulders, as if he’s not fully relaxed even now.
“You didn’t have to come all the way here,” he says softly, but you see the gratitude in his eyes. “It’s not exactly the safest place.”
You raise an eyebrow, giving him a look. “I think I can handle a bunch of scientists, Bruce. Besides, I wanted to see your new lab. Heard a lot about it.” You grin mischievously, “Plus, someone has to make sure you’re eating more than just coffee and anxiety.”
Bruce laughs, a rare sound, but it’s short-lived as his eyes dart to the side, toward the glass elevator in the corner. You follow his gaze, and that’s when you see him.
Tony Stark.
He’s standing there, leaning casually against the wall with his arms crossed, wearing an expensive-looking suit that screams "I know I’m good-looking." His eyes, hidden behind those signature shades, are locked onto you as if he’s already figured out who you are—or at least is very interested in finding out.
“Banner didn’t mention he had a sister,” Tony says, pushing himself off the wall with a smooth motion and walking toward you. There’s a playful glint in his eyes as he takes off his sunglasses, revealing those sharp brown eyes that have probably charmed half the world.
Bruce tenses beside you, and you can practically hear his internal groan. “Tony…” Bruce warns, stepping slightly in front of you as if that’s going to stop the man known for his lack of boundaries.
“Relax, Big Guy,” Tony replies with a smirk, eyes flicking from Bruce to you. “I’m just being friendly. You must be the famous Dr. Banner’s sister. I can see the resemblance—brains and beauty. A rare combination.”
You roll your eyes but can’t help the smile tugging at your lips. “You must be Tony Stark. I’ve heard about you. A lot.”
Bruce shoots you a look as if to say don’t encourage him, but you ignore it. Tony grins wider, and suddenly, you understand why people say he’s hard to resist. There’s an effortless charm about him that feels like it could pull you into his orbit without even trying.
“All good things, I hope,” Tony quips, stepping a little closer. He looks at you, his gaze more intense now, as if he’s trying to figure you out, and you feel a spark, something electric between the two of you.
Bruce, sensing the shift, clears his throat and steps firmly between the two of you. “Tony, she’s just visiting. Don’t… start.”
Tony raises his hands in mock surrender. “Who, me? Start what? I’m just being a gracious host. Isn’t that right, uh…” He pauses, clearly fishing for your name.
You cross your arms, narrowing your eyes playfully. “Y/N.”
Tony smiles, repeating your name as if testing how it feels. “Y/N. Lovely name. So, Y/N, how do you feel about guided tours? I happen to know a guy who gives the best ones around here.”
Bruce groans. “She’s not here for a tour. She’s here to see me.”
Tony shoots Bruce a sidelong glance, pretending to look hurt. “Oh, come on, don’t be so overprotective. She’s a grown woman. She can decide who she wants to spend time with.”
You raise an eyebrow, finding the banter between the two amusing. “You two bicker like an old married couple,” you comment, laughing softly.
Bruce shoots you a look that says, not helping, while Tony laughs, clearly delighted. “See? She’s got a sense of humor. I like her already.” He gives you another one of those smiles that could probably melt steel.
Bruce sighs, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “Y/N, seriously, he’s… trouble.”
You grin, stepping closer to your brother and nudging him with your elbow. “Relax, Bruce. I’m perfectly capable of handling myself.”
Before Bruce can protest further, Tony steps in with a dramatic flair. “How about this, we have dinner. You, me, Banner over here, though he might just sulk in the corner, what do you say?”
Your heart skips a beat, and you can tell Tony’s not exactly asking as a casual invitation. There’s something more there, something sparking between the two of you that’s undeniable. You glance at Bruce, who looks ready to protest again, but before he can say anything, you smile and look back at Tony.
“I’d like that.”
Bruce stares at you like you’ve just betrayed him, but Tony’s smile turns into something a little softer, something real beneath the playful mask. “Great. How’s tonight?”
Later that evening, you’re standing in front of the full-length mirror in your temporary room at Stark Tower, second-guessing your outfit for what feels like the hundredth time. It’s simple but elegant—a sleek black dress that’s casual enough for dinner but makes you feel confident. You inhale deeply, trying to steady your nerves. You’ve been on dates before, but this is Tony Stark, and there’s something about him that has you on edge, in a good way.
A knock at the door interrupts your thoughts, and you open it to find Bruce standing there, arms crossed, looking as anxious as you feel.
“You’re really doing this?” he asks, his eyes filled with a mix of concern and disbelief.
You shrug, trying to play it off, though your heart is racing. “It’s just dinner, Bruce.”
“With Tony?” Bruce raises an eyebrow, his expression all too knowing. “He’s not exactly… subtle. And he doesn’t just ‘do’ dinner.”
You roll your eyes, stepping past him into the hallway. “I’m a grown woman, remember? You don’t have to worry.”
Bruce follows you, lowering his voice as you both head toward the elevator. “I’m not worried about you, I’m worried about him.” He presses the elevator button a little too hard. “Tony’s got a reputation. You know that.”
You stop, turning to face him, your expression softening. “Bruce, I appreciate you looking out for me, really. But I know what I’m doing. I’m not some starry-eyed girl.”
Bruce sighs, clearly unconvinced but unable to argue. “I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
You give him a reassuring smile and squeeze his arm. “I’ll be fine. And besides, it’s just one dinner. If it goes badly, I can always punch him in the face.”
Bruce chuckles at that, though you can see he’s still tense. “Just… be careful, okay? He’s charming, but he’s not always as easy to handle as he seems.”
Before you can respond, the elevator doors open with a soft ding, and there’s Tony, leaning against the wall inside like he’s in some kind of movie. His suit is gone, replaced by dark jeans, a black t-shirt, and a leather jacket—still effortlessly stylish but much more relaxed. His eyes light up when he sees you, and he gives a low whistle, clearly impressed.
“Well, don’t you look stunning,” he says, that smooth, playful tone back in full force.
Bruce glares at him immediately. “Tony—”
“Relax, Banner,” Tony cuts him off, straightening and stepping out of the elevator to offer you his arm. “I promise to have her back in one piece. Maybe two, if we get into any trouble, but that’s half the fun, right?”
You laugh, shaking your head as you loop your arm through Tony’s, ignoring the death glare Bruce is sending his way. “I’ll text you if I need backup,” you say over your shoulder to Bruce, who mutters something about regretting this decision.
As you and Tony step into the elevator, you can’t help but feel the electric charge between you again, stronger this time. The doors close, and for a moment, there’s a silence that feels almost intimate. Tony glances at you out of the corner of his eye.
The restaurant Tony chooses is, of course, one of the most exclusive in the city. It’s the kind of place with mood lighting, impossibly polite waitstaff, and a menu without prices. As you both walk in, it’s clear everyone knows exactly who Tony is, and they give you both a wide berth as you’re led to a private table in the back.
The moment you sit down, Tony leans back in his chair, folding his hands behind his head as he studies you with that same intensity from earlier. “So, tell me about yourself, Y/N. What’s it like growing up with Banner as a brother? I imagine it’s all science fairs and controlled explosions?”
You chuckle, relaxing a little as you lean forward. “It’s a lot of science, yeah. And explosions. But Bruce is… different now. He used to be more carefree, even a little reckless, before everything happened with the Hulk.”
Tony’s expression softens, a flicker of something more serious passing through his eyes. “Yeah, I’ve seen how much he carries around with him. He doesn’t talk about it, but… I get it. The weight of it.”
You nod, surprised by the empathy in Tony’s voice. “He’s still my big brother, though. He’s always been protective, even when I didn’t need it.”
Tony smirks, leaning forward slightly. “Yeah, I noticed that. He looked like he wanted to murder me earlier.”
You grin. “That’s his default mode when it comes to guys showing any interest in me.”
Tony raises an eyebrow, his smirk widening. “So you’re saying there’s interest?”
You give him a playful look. “I think it’s obvious, don’t you?”
He laughs, the sound rich and genuine. “Yeah, I’m not exactly subtle.”
The banter between you flows easily, and as the evening goes on, you find yourself more and more drawn to him. Despite his reputation, Tony is surprisingly attentive, his jokes never crossing the line into arrogance, and the way he looks at you—it’s like you’re the only person in the room.
By the time dessert arrives, you’re leaning in close, the conversation growing quieter, more intimate. There’s a pause, the kind where you know something is about to shift.
“So,” Tony says, his voice soft but teasing, “what do you think Bruce is doing right now? Pacin’ around the lab, making some kind of anti-Stark protocol?”
You laugh, shaking your head. “Probably. You’re lucky he didn’t plant a tracking device on me.”
Tony grins. “I wouldn’t put it past him. But don’t worry, I’d still find a way to steal you away.”
The words hang in the air between you, and for a moment, everything else fades. It’s just you and him, the electricity sparking again. You can feel it, the inevitable pull, and for the first time in a long time, you don’t feel the need to resist it.
The night goes on, and by the time Tony walks you back to Stark Tower, there’s no denying the connection between you. As you stand outside your door, Tony hesitates for a moment, then flashes you that signature smile.
“So, when’s round two?”
You smile back, heart racing. “Soon.”
And with that, he leans in, just close enough that you feel the heat of him, before he pulls back, leaving you breathless.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he says softly, before turning and walking down the hall, leaving you with a smile you can’t quite wipe off your face.
Days pass, and you find yourself seeing Tony more often than you expected. It’s not like you’re seeking him out—he just happens to pop up every time you visit Bruce’s lab, or when you’re wandering Stark Tower. And each time, you can’t help but feel the magnetic pull between you growing stronger.
After a few more flirtatious encounters and subtle touches, Tony finally convinces you to go out on a proper date. You’re not sure what to expect—especially considering how not subtle he is—but Tony surprises you by choosing something… quiet.
The date begins with Tony picking you up in one of his sleek cars, of course. He’s dressed down again, but still looks effortlessly good in dark jeans and a leather jacket, while you opted for something comfortable but cute—a simple dress with a jacket that flutters in the wind as you step out.
“You ready?” he asks, opening the door for you. You nod, stepping in and giving him a curious look.
“Where exactly are we going this time?”
Tony smirks, but there’s a softness to it. “I figured we could skip the fancy restaurant scene tonight. I’ve got something a little more… low-key in mind.”
Low-key? From Tony Stark? You’re intrigued.
He drives you out of the city, and you find yourself staring at the skyline as it slowly fades into the distance. Before long, you arrive at a secluded spot overlooking the water, the city lights shimmering in the distance. Tony pulls up to a small, private dock where a sleek boat is waiting.
You raise an eyebrow. “This is your idea of low-key?”
Tony grins, holding out his hand to help you onto the boat. “I never said I wasn’t going to impress you.”
The boat glides smoothly across the water, the sound of the waves creating a peaceful backdrop. The night is clear, stars twinkling above, and the city skyline looks like a sea of jewels in the distance. Tony has arranged for a picnic—laid out perfectly on the boat’s deck, complete with a bottle of wine and an array of food that’s surprisingly simple but delicious.
As you sit together, talking and laughing, you realize how easy it is to be with him. There’s no awkwardness, no pressure. Just the two of you, sharing stories about your pasts, your work, and even your hopes for the future. Tony opens up more than you expected, letting his usual sarcasm and wit drop in moments to reveal the man behind the genius.
“So,” he says after a long silence, his voice soft but with that signature playful edge, “do you think Bruce would kill me if I kissed you right now?”
You smile, feeling the warmth of his gaze on you, your heart pounding in your chest. You’ve been waiting for this moment, the tension between you having built up over the last few days. Without hesitation, you lean in, closing the distance between you.
“I think Bruce will get over it,” you whisper, just before your lips meet his.
The kiss is slow, deliberate, and everything you didn’t know you were waiting for. There’s something about it—something that feels real, like the start of something more. Tony’s hands gently cup your face, his touch soft but confident, and you can feel the heat of his skin as he pulls you closer.
When you finally pull away, breathless, Tony’s lips curve into a smile. “Okay, well, now I’m officially dead when we tell him.”
You laugh, shaking your head as you lean into him, resting your head on his shoulder. “You might be, but at least you’ll go out with a bang.”
A week later, you and Tony decide it’s time to break the news to Bruce. You’ve kept it quiet long enough, and besides, Tony is itching to “gloat,” as he puts it, in front of Bruce. You, on the other hand, are more concerned about Bruce’s reaction—because no matter how old you are, telling your big brother that you’re dating Tony Stark feels like walking into a minefield.
The three of you are in the lab—well, technically, you and Bruce are going over some research notes, while Tony is just hanging around, making sarcastic comments and tinkering with some new tech he’s building. The tension between you and Tony has been pretty noticeable, though, and you know Bruce isn’t an idiot. He’s probably already suspicious.
Finally, Tony clears his throat dramatically, stepping between you and Bruce. “Banner, there’s something we’ve been meaning to tell you.”
Bruce looks up from his computer, pushing his glasses up on his nose, already frowning. “What did you do now?”
Tony grins. “Oh, it’s not what I did. It’s more about what we—” he gestures between you and himself—“are doing. Together.”
Bruce freezes, blinking in confusion as he looks between you and Tony. “Together? Like… working on a project?”
Tony tilts his head, trying to suppress a laugh. “Well, you could say that. More like a long-term, hands-on collaboration. You know, with kissing.”
You shoot Tony a look, and he just shrugs, clearly enjoying himself.
Bruce’s eyes widen as he processes this, and then his gaze locks onto you, completely baffled. “Wait. Are you saying… you and Tony…?” His voice is rising, like he can’t believe what he’s hearing.
You bite your lip, stepping forward. “Bruce, I know this is probably a shock, but—”
“A shock?” Bruce cuts in, standing up from his chair, his voice going an octave higher. “You’re dating Tony Stark? My Tony Stark? The same guy who blew up half a city block because he was ‘experimenting with mini rockets’?”
Tony looks offended. “Okay, first of all, it was only a quarter of a block, and it was mostly contained. Second, this is about us, Bruce, not my tech adventures.”
Bruce looks between the two of you, his mouth opening and closing like a fish as he tries to form words. Finally, he throws his hands up in the air, pacing back and forth. “I can’t believe this. I leave you alone for five minutes, and you start dating the most reckless genius on the planet!”
Tony folds his arms, looking proud. “Reckless? Genius? You flatter me, Banner.”
Bruce turns to you, shaking his head. “Are you sure about this? I mean, this is Tony. He’s—”
You step forward, putting a hand on your brother’s arm. “I’m sure, Bruce. Tony makes me happy. And believe me, I know what I’m getting into.”
Bruce groans, covering his face with his hand. “I need to sit down. Or maybe lie down.”
Tony claps Bruce on the back, grinning. “Don’t worry, big guy. I’ll take good care of her. Besides, I’m not that bad. You could’ve ended up with someone way worse, like—”
“Tony,” you cut him off, giving him a pointed look.
Bruce sinks into his chair, staring at the ceiling like he’s having an existential crisis. “I just… I can’t believe this. I thought it was bad when you started hanging out with him. Now you’re dating him?”
Tony shrugs, looking smug. “Love works in mysterious ways, Banner. Even for geniuses like us.”
Bruce groans louder, shaking his head. “This is a nightmare. I need a lab break. Or maybe a tranquilizer.”
You and Tony exchange amused glances as Bruce continues to mutter to himself, clearly still processing the news. Finally, Tony leans in, whispering in your ear, “Well, that went better than expected. I’d say we’re off to a great start.”
You laugh, shaking your head as you watch Bruce pace the lab, still muttering about “impending disasters” and “Tony Stark of all people.” Maybe Bruce will need a little more time to come around, but deep down, you know he’ll accept it—eventually.
Dating Tony Stark comes with a lot of perks. Stark Tower itself is like a futuristic playground—fully automated, filled with high-tech gadgets, and with the best view of the New York skyline. It’s also full of surprises, many of which involve Tony pushing the boundaries of propriety. Especially when it comes to public displays of affection. And especially when Bruce is within a ten-foot radius.
Since you and Tony officially got together, life at Stark Tower has been anything but boring. Mornings usually involve you trying to grab breakfast in peace while Tony insists on inventing new ways to make coffee (most of which end in small explosions). Afternoons might be spent in his lab—where you’re technically helping him, though he tends to get distracted by the fact that you’re there, which leads to less science and more stolen kisses.
And then there’s Bruce, poor Bruce, who is constantly trying to ignore the fact that his best friend is now dating his sister. Tony, of course, makes it his personal mission to remind him at every possible opportunity.
One afternoon, you’re in the lab with Bruce, going over some research notes. The air is filled with the quiet hum of machinery, and you’re both deep in concentration. At least, until the door swings open and Tony strolls in, whistling as if he owns the place (which, to be fair, he does).
“Hey, Banner! How’s my favorite big green guy today?” Tony calls out, already making a beeline for you.
Bruce looks up from his computer with a wary expression. “Tony, please. Not now. We’re working.”
Tony waves him off as if this is a minor inconvenience. “Yeah, yeah, science and all that.” He slides right up behind you, placing his hands on your shoulders and leaning down to press a kiss to the top of your head. “Hey, gorgeous. How’s your day going?”
You smile, shaking your head but leaning back into him. “It was peaceful. Until now.”
Bruce lets out an exaggerated sigh, clearly trying to focus on his screen. “Seriously, Tony. Do you have to do that? Here?”
Tony grins, clearly enjoying how easily he gets under Bruce’s skin. “What, this?” He leans down further and plants a dramatic kiss on your cheek, making a point to linger there.
You laugh, nudging him gently. “Tony…”
Bruce groans, rubbing his temples like he’s developing a stress headache. “Do you really have to kiss her in front of me? Can’t you just—wait until I’m not around?”
Tony straightens up, looking completely innocent. “Oh, come on, Banner. We’re in a relationship. It’s perfectly normal. Besides, we could be doing much worse things in front of you.”
“Tony!” You elbow him in the side, though you can’t help but laugh at the horrified look on Bruce’s face.
Bruce looks like he’s about to keel over. “I’m begging you. No details.”
Tony leans in again, this time whispering just loud enough for Bruce to hear, “Don’t worry. I’ll spare you the juicy stuff.”
Bruce groans louder, closing his laptop with a snap and standing up. “You two are impossible. I’m going to the roof. At least the air up there is free of… whatever this is.”
As Bruce marches toward the door, Tony throws his arm around your shoulders, looking as smug as ever. “Come on, Bruce! You’ve got to get used to it eventually. I mean, what’s a little affection between friends? And family. And soulmates.” He winks at you, and you shake your head, laughing at his antics.
Bruce doesn’t even turn around, just waves a hand dismissively as he walks out. “I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that. Enjoy your soulmate time.”
The door slides shut behind him, leaving you and Tony alone in the lab. Tony turns to you with a playful glint in his eyes. “You know, I think he’s starting to come around. He only looks half as horrified as he did last week.”
You laugh, wrapping your arms around his neck. “You’re incorrigible.”
“Guilty as charged.” Tony leans in and kisses you again, this time properly—slow, warm, and completely distracting.
You pull back just enough to speak. “You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you? Making him squirm?”
Tony grins, brushing his nose against yours. “It’s one of life’s simple pleasures. Right up there with inventing new things and kissing you.”
Of course, this isn’t the only time Tony manages to fluster Bruce. Over the next few weeks, he finds increasingly creative ways to engage in PDA whenever Bruce is nearby. Like the time Bruce is trying to explain gamma radiation theory, and Tony, who claims he’s listening, suddenly pulls you into his lap in the middle of the lab.
“Tony, what are you doing?” you hiss, laughing despite yourself as he casually wraps an arm around your waist.
“What? I’m just getting comfortable,” Tony says innocently. “Keep going, Bruce. This is fascinating.”
Bruce stares at him, completely bewildered. “You’re not listening. You’re… distracting her.”
“I’m a multitasker,” Tony quips, giving you a wink. “I can listen and hold my girlfriend at the same time. It’s a gift.”
Bruce throws his hands up in the air, clearly at his limit. “I’m done. You two deserve each other.” He grabs his tablet and stalks out of the room, muttering under his breath about “public decency.”
Tony chuckles, watching Bruce leave, then turns back to you. “What do you think? Too much?”
You shake your head, laughing. “He’s going to have a meltdown at some point, and it’s going to be entirely your fault.”
Tony shrugs, leaning back in his chair and pulling you closer. “Eh, he’ll get over it. Eventually. Probably. Besides, it’s good for him. Builds character.”
You roll your eyes, but you’re still smiling. Life with Tony may be chaotic, but it’s never dull. And there’s something oddly comforting about the way he teases Bruce—it’s like the three of you are caught up in this weird little family dynamic, where you’re the calm center and Tony and Bruce are constantly bickering, but in a way that somehow works.
One evening, you’re sitting on the couch in the common area, curled up with Tony, watching a movie. Bruce walks in, clearly intending to grab something from the kitchen, but the moment he sees you both snuggled up, he pauses in the doorway like he’s reconsidering his life choices.
Tony, ever the opportunist, notices immediately. “Hey, Bruce! Wanna join us?” He pats the space next to him on the couch. “There’s plenty of room.”
Bruce stares at him, deadpan. “I’m not sitting next to you while you’re doing… that.”
You blink, glancing between them. “Doing what? We’re just watching a movie.”
Bruce narrows his eyes, pointing at you two. “You’re snuggling. It’s unnatural.”
Tony grins. “Oh, come on. It’s perfectly natural for two people in love to cuddle on the couch. Don’t be so repressed, Banner. You’re going to make yourself even grayer.”
Bruce sighs, looking exhausted just by the sight of you both. “You know what? I’ll just—” He gestures vaguely toward the kitchen, like he’s going to hide in there for a while.
Tony watches Bruce retreat to the kitchen with the kind of smug satisfaction that only comes from knowing you’ve successfully pushed your best friend’s buttons. He leans back into the couch, pulling you closer as the movie continues to play in the background.
“You think we should go easy on him?” you ask, glancing toward the kitchen where Bruce is clearly pretending to be busy with something, probably plotting ways to avoid you and Tony for the foreseeable future.
Tony shakes his head, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Go easy? Nah. He needs this. It’s good for him. Keeps him on his toes.”
You chuckle, resting your head on his shoulder. “You’re going to give him an ulcer one of these days, you know that, right?”
Tony grins, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Eh, it’s character-building. Besides, deep down, he loves us. He’ll come around. Eventually.”
Just then, Bruce reemerges from the kitchen, holding a bottle of water and clearly trying to act like he’s not noticing you two wrapped up in each other. You swear you see him wince when Tony casually starts tracing circles on your arm with his fingers.
Bruce takes a long, exaggerated sip from the bottle, standing awkwardly in the doorway. “You guys, uh… planning on going to bed soon?” His tone is hopeful, like maybe you’ll take the hint and give him some peace.
Tony looks at him, perfectly deadpan. “Oh, we’re definitely going to bed. Just… probably not to sleep. You know how it is, Banner.”
Your jaw drops, and you elbow Tony sharply in the ribs, stifling your laughter as Bruce’s face goes through several stages of sheer horror.
“Tony!” you whisper-shout, trying to keep it together.
Bruce lets out a strangled groan, covering his face with one hand. “Oh my God. No. No, no, no. I did not need to hear that.” He points at Tony with a glare. “You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Tony tilts his head, feigning innocence. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. We’re just being affectionate. Perfectly normal, right, sweetheart?” He gives you a sly smile, completely enjoying this little game.
You bite your lip, trying not to laugh as you turn to Bruce. “We’re just teasing. You know that.”
Bruce glares at Tony, who’s still smirking, clearly enjoying the whole situation far too much. “You know what? I’m just going to go up to the lab. Where there’s no… whatever this is.”
“You sure?” Tony asks, stretching out lazily on the couch. “You could hang with us. Watch a rom-com, talk about feelings, maybe even join in for a group hug—”
“NO.” Bruce cuts him off with a sharp wave of his hand. “Just… no. I’m going upstairs. Goodnight.”
With that, Bruce practically bolts for the stairs, his water bottle clutched in a death grip as he escapes the scene, muttering something about “emotional trauma.”
Once Bruce is safely out of earshot, you burst out laughing, burying your face in Tony’s chest. “You’re terrible.”
Tony just grins, looking completely unbothered. “I know. But admit it—you love me this way.”
You roll your eyes but can’t stop smiling. “I do. Even if you’re a menace.”
He leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips, and when you pull back, you catch that familiar glint of mischief in his eyes again. “What do you say we make Bruce’s nightmares come true and really give him something to complain about tomorrow?”
You laugh, shaking your head. “Tempting. But I think we’ve tortured him enough for one day.”
Tony sighs dramatically. “Fine. For now. But I reserve the right to increase the PDA by 20% the next time he annoys me.”
“Deal,” you say, grinning as you snuggle closer to him on the couch.
The next morning, you’re sitting at the kitchen counter, sipping on coffee and flipping through a magazine, when Bruce walks in looking surprisingly calm. He glances at you, then at the empty chair where Tony usually sits, clearly expecting another ambush.
“Where’s Stark?” Bruce asks, sounding both cautious and curious.
You smirk. “Still sleeping. He stayed up late tinkering with some new invention.”
Bruce visibly relaxes, sitting down across from you. “Good. Maybe I’ll get a few hours of peace today.”
You raise an eyebrow, pretending to be innocent. “I don’t know, Bruce. Tony might have something special planned for you today. Maybe a surprise PDA session in the lab.”
Bruce groans, rubbing his temples. “Please. I’ve been through enough. I’m getting second-hand trauma from all the smooching.”
Just then, Tony enters the kitchen, hair messy from sleep and wearing his usual loungewear, looking completely unbothered. He walks over to you and, without saying a word, plants a quick kiss on your lips. “Morning, gorgeous.”
You smile, greeting him back, while Bruce groans audibly from across the table.
“Seriously?” Bruce mutters, rolling his eyes. “It’s not even 9 a.m. and you two are already at it?”
Tony glances at Bruce, completely straight-faced. “What? A little kiss in the morning? It’s called affection, Bruce. Maybe you should try it sometime. I hear it’s great for stress reduction. You’d stop Hulking out so much.”
Bruce sighs, clearly fighting the urge to respond with anything more than an eye roll, but you can see his fingers twitching like he’s thinking about throwing his coffee mug at Tony. He takes a deep breath instead, rubbing his temples. “Tony, I know what affection is. I just don’t need to witness it at every possible moment, especially in my own kitchen.”
Tony grins, as if this was exactly the reaction he wanted. He leans down, dramatically kissing you on the cheek before turning back to Bruce. “Come on, buddy, it’s not like we’re—”
“STOP.” Bruce holds up a hand, eyes closed, clearly trying to block out whatever is about to come out of Tony’s mouth. “Just… don’t say it. I don’t need any mental images. I’m trying to not need therapy.”
You laugh into your coffee, biting your lip as you try to rein in the amusement bubbling up inside you. Tony, however, is in full-on playful mode now. He leans back against the counter, crossing his arms and grinning at Bruce like he’s enjoying this way too much.
“All I’m saying,” Tony continues, unfazed by Bruce’s growing horror, “is that you shouldn’t knock PDA until you’ve tried it. It’s very healthy, emotionally and physically. We’re setting an example for the tower. A beacon of love.”
Bruce snorts, looking at Tony like he’s lost his mind. “A beacon of something, sure.”
Tony shrugs, grabbing a piece of toast from the counter and taking a bite. “We’re adorable, and you’re just jealous.”
Bruce glares at him over his mug. “Jealous? Of what? Watching you two practically make out every time I turn around? Pass.”
You lean over, nudging Tony in the side with a grin. “I think he’s just upset because he can’t escape us. Maybe we should tone it down. Give him a break.”
Tony glances down at you, raising an eyebrow. “Tone it down? You mean, stop being ourselves? I can’t do that. It’s against my code.”
You roll your eyes, smiling as you sip your coffee. “Of course it is.”
Bruce, now finished with his coffee, stands up, clearly ready to flee the kitchen. “For the record, I’m happy for you two. Really. Just… try to keep the beacon of love at a safe distance from my workspace.”
Tony watches him head toward the door, then looks back at you with a mischievous glint in his eye. “Oh, we’re definitely kissing in front of him in the lab later.”
You laugh, shaking your head. “You really have a death wish, don’t you?”
Tony grins, leaning down to kiss you again, this time slower and more deliberate. “Totally worth it.”
Later that day, as you predicted, Tony finds the perfect opportunity to annoy Bruce once more. You’re both in the lab—well, you’re working, and Tony’s pretending to work while glancing at you every five minutes. Bruce is furiously typing away at his computer, clearly trying to stay in the zone and ignore whatever Tony might be planning.
As if on cue, Tony sidles up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pressing his chin to your shoulder. “Hey,” he whispers, loud enough for Bruce to hear, “I think it’s time for a break.”
You glance over at Bruce, who is visibly tensing, fingers pausing over his keyboard as he waits for whatever Tony’s about to do. “Tony…” you warn softly, though you’re already fighting a smile.
But Tony’s already leaning in, brushing a kiss to your temple, then down to your cheek. “Come on, we’ve been working hard. We deserve a little… affection.”
Bruce makes a strangled noise, pushing away from his computer. “Please. Please don’t do this.”
Tony grins against your skin. “What? Just showing some love in the lab. Totally professional.”
Bruce stands up, throwing his hands in the air. “You know what? Fine. Make out. Hug. Whatever. I’ll just be somewhere else. Somewhere far, far away.”
Tony watches him walk to the door, calling out after him, “We’ll miss you, Banner! Try not to get too lonely!”
Bruce doesn’t even turn around, just waves a hand over his shoulder as he storms out. You watch him disappear, laughing as you turn to Tony, who is looking entirely too proud of himself.
“You know, one day, Bruce might actually snap. And it’s going to be your fault,” you tease, shaking your head.
Tony pulls you closer, his arms snug around your waist. “Nah, he loves me. Deep down. Very, very deep down.”
You roll your eyes but smile up at him. “You’re impossible.”
He grins, leaning in for another kiss, and as his lips brush against yours, you can’t help but think that life with Tony — chaos and all — is pretty perfect.

There’s a Certain Slant of Light.
Tumblr media
Yan (Soulmate) Chrollo x F Reader.
Synopsis: Something is different. But what could it be?
Warnings: Yandere themes, the reader is unwillingly a Spider and from Meteor City, mentions of religion/religious imagery, implied drugging, manipulation, and unhealthy relationships.
Word Count: 1k.
i’ve been seeing a lot of chrollo being paired with a phantom troupe member reader and i just think that the concept is very interesting! :D
credits for og art piece here!
*~*~*~*
Your sword, while having the ability to stab and slice just about anything, is still by far the most frail weapon at your disposal. It is a slight sadness that fills Chrollo’s mind, then, once he realizes this. The feeling is small, minuscule, just like most of the other emotions Chrollo’s heart cannot beat with, the blood that flows through his veins frozen with the concept of what he wants to be. He feels next to nothing as if he were a walking corpse, a prisoner who has just been released from the deepest depths of hell, not once being able to see twinkling eyes and shining stars. Light is a concept unknown to people like him, and people like you, foreign, as alien as a coup made of peasants storming a palace larger than ten of their villages combined.
Your two true weapons are your lips calling out his name, and the thin red string that connects your little finger and your fate to his thumb and his future. Despite the thread being wispier than that of paper, it has a will stronger than one forged in diamonds and never had to be a carbon crystal to be so. Chrollo is thankful for it, more so than he is for most things that he would rather leave in the past. It has linked you two together for so long and has been the key for chaining down your animosity towards him whenever he had gone too far. All he had to do was tug, and you would be right back wherever he had placed you. But even diamonds can shatter when a love made in a less-than-fortunate childhood turns more and more into hate.
This entire act is like a balancing beam. He must not be too loud, but also not be too quiet. He must always have cards up his sleeve for any potential mishaps down the line. Inside one hand is the key to your freedom, but inside the other is the key to a false route to such fantasies, the trap of reality. Even Chrollo does not know which is which, for he is a dreamer himself at heart.
“Good morning, sir,” It is a rare sight, you yawning, your posture nowhere near how put together it usually is. “How are you today, sir?”
“Very well, thank you.”
“I must have been quite exhausted last night; my apologies, sir.”
“I told you if you ever wanted to take a break here, you are more than welcome to.”
“I’ve always declined such an offer for a reason, sir.”
“Just as I’ve always told you that you may call me just Chrollo for a reason, [First]. I think I haven't heard you say my name without an honorific since we were both still children if my memory serves correctly.”
“...”
The provocation of the past seems to hurt you more than him it seems, from how you flinch at the word children, and from how he smiles at your discomfort.
“We are not with the rest of the Troupe right now, it is quite alright if you want to relive prior times, wouldn’t you say?” He asks, and with his eyes appearing to look back at his books, he sees yours darting around the room, looking for an escape route.
They move left, to the tables at the back of the sitting room which hold lamps and framed photos and paintings. Then right, to the fireplace and the large but still solitary couch, covered with leather and embroideries. Then up, to the crackless and spotless white ceiling, and then down, to the wooden rosewood planks of the floor.
“I saw a book in your satchel. Crime and Punishment, hmm?”
“Yes. Please do not say how ironic it is, sir.”
“Very well.”
To you, perhaps the room feels deathly still. To him, it feels like the scene right before the climax. Slow, steady, full of tension and dread. Though Chrollo will never let the curtains that cover your very soul close ever again. It would not be hard to get them to open up again, you have known each other for so long after all, but regardless he needs you to stay within the palm of his hand forevermore. Only then will he be able to feel something so warm and soft once more.
Oh, how he wishes that he could open the floor below you and trap you there. But he cannot. At least not yet.
“...Where is my bag?” At your question, Chrollo pulls his thumb towards him, and you move accordingly. “It is not in the room.” You continue, your eyebrows furrowing as you attempt to resist. “Sir?”
Desperation. Then a hand raise and a pause.
“Stolen treasure from the last meeting.” Chrollo begins curtly. “A contact list full of people I have not permitted you to speak to. Keys to a car that is not mine.” He proceeds to say. “Tell me, [First], what is all of this, hmm?”
Something akin to a mix of a horrified chuckle and a choking sound emerges from your throat as if his hands were squeezing and squeezing until you burst. He sets the book he was reading down, and without his hands covering both the front and back of it, you see the title, the synopsis.
“Crime and Punishment, hmm?” He repeats, and for the first time in what must be a few years, he sees you terrified, shaking, and near to tears. “A clever way to code your plan.” Chrollo crosses his legs. “By the way, it is an hour or so past sunset by now.” He hears a small gasp from you. “You missed your flight a long time ago, sweet thing.”
“...I… I…”
“You were planning on leaving us, weren’t you?” When you don’t answer, instead looking straight towards the door, he raises his thumb again. “I know you never wanted to join the Troupe, per se, but still… this hurts.” He pulls and pulls, and being forced to be a puppet for the umpteenth time since the soulmate string has appeared in Chrollo’s vision, you are placed where he wants you to be.
Close to him.

are you able to write a mash x m!reader whos a notorious double liner that just transferred to the school and is stuck into finn and mash's room because there wasnt anyother rooms? (if thats to specific im down for just mash x m!reader!)
Love blooms just like a flower in a garden
Mash Burnedead x male reader
Request made by Anon. Thanks for waiting, and sorry for the delay
I found the idea interesting and it was also my first time writing for Male Reader, so if there is a part with wrong pronouns, I would be grateful to be alerted about it.
Warning: The reader is said to have a hobby of watching butterflies and taking photos of them and gardening; the reader is completely male! Everything is from Finn's point of view, except the bonus
Summary: After (Name)'s transfer, Finn notices how close Mash and (Name) are and how their love has blossomed just like a flower
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today was supposed to be a normal day
And because it was a normal day in the lives of Mash and Finn, they had to share their room with a new transfer student.
Now Fin and Mash were facing their new roommate until he had his own room
"It's a pleasure to meet you, my name and (Name) (Last name)" The boy called (Name) while bowing in an elegant manner
If it weren't for the two-line mark on his face, Finn would know he came from a prestigious family.
"Ah.. and equally a pleasure I am and this is Mash" Finn says while pointing at himself and Mash
"And a pleasure too, what a profiterole?" Mash says while holding a profiterole in front of the (h/c) haired boy
"Ah! Thank you very much" (Name) says as he accepts Mash's profiterole
"Dispose" Mash responds
"Thank you so much for letting me sleep in your dorm until I had one" (Name) says and then he takes a bite of the profiterole "Amazing! And very delicious wherever you buy it Mash!" (Name) says as he takes the profiterole from their lips and their (e/c) eyes shine as she looks into the monotonous golden ones.
"I do it myself" Mash says nonchalantly
"That's amazing! I've never tried anything like this before" (Name) says as their gaze shifts to their half-bitten profiterole
"Really?" Mash says with surprise in their tone of voice
"Hm! The outside is crunchy but at the same time soft to the bite, along with the inside which is soft to a good extent and the cream combines perfectly with the crunchiness and softness of the dough" (Name) explain
"Wow! You must know a lot about confectionery!" Finn said in surprise
"Hm~ I like confectionery" (Name) responds to Finn
Without realizing it, Mash had a small smile on their face.
This was Finn and Mash's first interaction with their new roommate (Name)
Finn remembers the day they met (Name) like it was yesterday.
It was about two weeks that (Name) slept in their room until he had a free room
Those few weeks were difficult for (Name) as he got used to a new school and in the middle of the semester
So he joined their little group, being another two-liner like Lance
And of course (Name) surprisingly got closer to everyone in the group
But.... (Name) and Mash's relationship was different from the personal
Even if they weren't with the staff, it was possible to see the two of them together most of the time.
Finn couldn't even count all the times they were together
How he once found Mash teaching (Name) how to make profiteroles
Another when (Name) helped Mash study for exams in the library
Or when (Name) was showing their collection of butterfly photos to Mash during breaks
And also the time when Mash talked to (Name) while he was gardening and there's that too....
The list was huge
But.... Finn doesn't know when, but he noticed their fleeting touches
He once came across Mash sleeping with their head in (Name)'s lap while he played with their hair.
Another time he saw Mash and (Name) talking, he didn't know what they were saying but suddenly (Name)'s face turned red and he hid his face in his hands while Mash looked at him with their slightly pink cheeks.
There was also when he saw (Name) playing with Mash's hair and his own cheeks were red.
And when they are with the group, Finn notices every time Mash or (Name) reaches for each other's hands and holds them without anyone noticing.
Finn wasn't stupid for that, he knew Mash and (Name) liked each other, no... they loved each other
Finn wasn't disappointed or embarrassed
In fact... he thought it was cute
It was as if he visited a garden and then every time he visited that garden he found a flower that little by little grew and in the end it bloomed and it seemed like it had always been there
But it was never there, it started to create its way to the surface and then it started to grow and become what it is today.
And that's why Finn sees their relationship like this, a love that wasn't at first sight like Lemon says and his love for Mash, but rather a love that grew like a flower in the garden where there were other flowers, this flower wasn't the only one or special one, it was just growing and it stayed there and since then it was there without anyone noticing
Even if other people notice this flower and say it grew overnight, Finn will be proud to say that he saw this flower, it didn't bloom overnight but it bloomed over time to where it is.
And he hopes that this flower remains rich and strong just like (Name) and Mash's relationship
𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒖𝒔
"So... like we said before, we have an announcement to make" (Name) says to the group that was in front of him and Mash
One day (Name) and Mash called the group to say something
"Me and Mash are dating" (Name) says and then Mash holds his hand to confirm
.....Silence permeated the air around the group.....
(Name) breaks out in a cold sweat thinking it wasn't a good idea while Mash squeezed his hand as a form of comfort
"WHAT?!?????!!?!?!?!?!" Lemon and Dot scream at the same time, bursting Lance's eardrums, who was next to them.
"Congratulations on your relationship!" Tom says in an excited tone while raising a thumb "May your relationship be as strong as a bamboo" He finishes
"How long have you been together? How did this happen? When are you getting married? Why didn't you say this before? How is the mushroom head (Name) dating?! ...." Lemon and Dot ask dozens of questions while get closer to (Name) and Mash without letting them talk
While this situation is happening, Lance notices that Finn was quiet the whole time.
"...Aren't you going to say anything Finn?" Lance asks as he looks away to look at Finn.
"Oh no... actually I already knew" Finn says as he continues to stare at (Name) and Mash talking to the people about their relationship
He couldn't help but notice the way Mash looked at (Name) with so much love and the way a smile formed on her face.
"I'm glad they're together, they make a good couple" Finn says as he smiles
"Hm.. If you say so" Lance takes his gaze away from Finn and faces the group

MARS CONJUNCT CHIRON SYNASTRY| SYNASTRY SERIES. . .
It’s interesting. I have found that most people use fear, pain and their internal trauma to justify avoiding a relationship and then there are others who use their pain, triggers and trauma to inflict upon others with unconscious intent to project what’s hurting on the inside, outwardly. In such a case, those on the receiving end of a hurt person, hurting you- you are in fact, a victim.
The theme of this synastry combination makes things difficult in determining who the “victim” is amongst the two individuals. The question remains, is the Chiron person the one inflicting and projecting their internal pain upon the mars person? Or is the mars person triggering the Chiron person and or the source of the pain? That is to be determined, if at all possible.
If you’re into tarot, then this synastry conjunction is very similar to the 9 of wands card, “the wounded warrior” except the word wounded is applicable towards the Chiron person and the warrior is the mars person. collectively, they are wounded warriors for being together and possibly warriors, fighting each other. This is not a Bonny and Clyde synastry combo, let’s be clear.
However, things become unclear very quickly because is the Chiron person wounded because of the mars person? Or was the Chiron person already wounded, and the mars person just came in to inflict more pain to an already open wound?
Does the Chiron person project their wounding, trauma, and triggers on the mars person? if so, does the mars person become the Chiron person? who is the strongest one in this synastry? - the mars or Chiron person?
With Mars being about action and Chiron being about injuries, both the mars and Chiron person must experience this to understand it.
Has any one of you been in a narcissistic relationship or heard about one? For those in that kind of relationship, you know the pain and suffering caused by the narcissist however, whenever you try to explain what you’re going through in addition to the true character of the narcissist, most, initially do not believe you. This is what I mean by “having to experience” this synastry to genuinely understand it- just like someone who is not being abused covertly, needing to experience what you are to finally understand and believe you.
This synastry presents so many questions that neither person will be able to answer. With conjunctions and oppositions in astrology and energetically, it’s hard to determine the beginning from the end. the cause and the effect. Which is first? I digress.
From experience, the Chiron person is the one who is already hurt, triggered, angry and mad. Now, when I think about warriors or fighters due to mars influence, I cannot say real warriors or fighters go after “weak” prey or opponents. They want the best of the best- in most cases. Therefore, the Chiron person is more likely to try to get the mars persons attention- especially in the beginning, The mars person represents the Chiron person- without being hurt, bruised, and beat up. It’s kind of like a parent who is now a Chiron – worn down but aware of life cycles and a child who is the mars – young, abundance in energy and hasn’t experienced life yet. When we get older, we become more reserved, pessimistic, and unimpressed with a lot of things that we were once into when we were younger and didn’t have this or that experience, when we are older, we look down on younger folk and judge them harshly or see ourselves in them. Seeing ourselves in others is a projection.
Back to my initial point, the Chiron person is already hurt, triggered, insecure and or suffering to some extent. When we are in pain etc., it’s very difficult to detach from that pain to see people, places, and things as they are, truly. Therefore, the Chiron person may look upon the mars person as a walking trigger, Chiron will be attracted towards the Mars person however, that infatuation will disappear just as quick as it came- no pun intended. To Reiterate, the only reason the Chiron person is attracted towards the mars person is because the Chiron person sees a healthier, happier and whatever they wish to be, or once was in the mars person. Soon, the mars person may or may not intentionally trigger the mars person furthermore. If the mars person appears to be strong and in their mars placements glory, the Chiron person can and will eventually make the mars person a Chiron person, like an energy exchange.
It's interesting because, the Chiron person has a lot if not, all the power in this synastry. The Chiron person can make or break the mars person and or, use the mars person to get well, get stronger, get healthier. Ultimately, the Chiron person can become the person they’ve always wanted to be with the inspiration and energy emitted from the mars person. Sadly, that rarely happens. Instead, the Chiron person will project and over time, the mars person will morph in the Chiron person. the mars person may at some points have been confident, strong, happy, sexual, athletic or whatever but then stops being all that because the emotional drainage, guilt or demands from the Chiron person.
The mars person may “falloff” when dealing with an unhealthy Chiron person and grant it, the mythology surrounding Chiron reveals Chiron never healing. So, when I say an unhealthy Chiron, I mean someone who is not actively trying to heal or better themselves despite what life has thrown and concluded with pain. I digress.
Have you ever been in physical pain? It changes your reality, thoughts, movements, and mood significantly. That’s the power of the Chiron person, they can really hurt the mars person in the same ways they themselves have personally been hurt. Example, if the Chiron person has been cheated on and it caused internal wounding like insecurity, depression and profound trust issues- what will then happen if chiron comes into contact with the mars person, all of a sudden the chiron person can only see the mars person as a possible cheater, liar and dog (because of their past). Then we start to see the chiron person treating the mars person in such a way that isn’t deserved. If the Mars person is strong, eventually, the chiron person can wear them down. When the mars person becomes worn down and start internalizing the chiron persons projected pain, you will observe the mars person being a shell of a person. when this occurs, somehow the chiron person gets a false sense of feeling better, strong, confident, and whatever else. This is the energy exchange I was speaking on earlier.
The famous quote “hurt people, hurt people”. But the table always turn.
The Mars person may be a bully and can sense weakness or pain in the chiron person.
Regardless, the Chiron person is f*****, okay? But with the tables turning, the mars person is like an animal who can sense weakness, pain, and fear. Some Predators like dead/ weak animals because it makes for an easy kill. With that being said, the mars person may, be the narcissist who delights and gets off on inflicting more pain in the chiron person’s life. If the tables turn, the mars person has all the power in this synastry because the chiron person is too broken or consumed by what life and people did to them that they really don’t realize how powerful they are. All this unknown power is then given to the mars person who will abuse it or help the chiron person discover their power. As with anything but more specifically oppositions and conjunctions, it’s hard to tell.
The mars person can play the role of a therapist, the demon or coach. The Chiron person can play the role of a student, victim, or abuser.
Let’s say, for example. the mars person is aware that their Chiron person is insecure about their appearance and or weight gain. The mars person will either uplift the Chiron person by helping with meal prep, becoming a gym accountability buddy, a cheerleader etc. or the mars person can use that insecurity to start cheating or develop blatant wandering eyes or in arguments, say things that will make the Chiron person more insecure and or threatened that they may lose their mars person. This creates dependency which isn’t good but also, desperation.
The Chiron person in a negative sense can gaslight the mars person in addition to, making them weak and self-destructive over a period of time. The pain the chiron person hoards within will then be projected upon the mars person to fight and with fights- there are losses. The mars person may develop the same coping mechanisms of the chiron person- which aren’t good, and this will be the beginning of the end for the mars person.
Due to human nature, observations, and experience- most people are toxic therefore, I conclude that this isn’t a synastry aspect is not compatible. I find it to be more damaging, codependent and abusive. To each is own.

Hi. So I’m not a Layton guy and all THAT familiar with the lore, but a close friend of mine is, and as far as I understand Layton has a dead girlfriend? Can I please know who Magolor’s dead girlfriend equivalent in this AU is? I’m legitimately so curious. /pos
Tumblr media
I have been thinking A LOT about which Kirby character would fit Claire's (dead gf) role. In the end I chose Taranza bc I feel he and Claire are the most similar in character. They're both really good at what they do (Claire: brilliant scientist - Taranza: immaculate mage), quick thinkers, humble, and have a lot of love to give.
I'll explain more under the cut (along with images of Claire and younger Layton for design ref), but Taranza could've also fit in as a couple other characters bc I made Sectonia as Descole. In this essay I will-
Tumblr media
In Kirby there's an interesting connection between Magolor and Taranza. Primarily based on that one Magolor portrait in that haunted house in Triple Deluxe (like ok huh????) and also that one Star Allies Wave 3 illustration.
With that portrait existing, to me it implies that Magolor has met Taranza and Sectonia before the events of the game somehow. This theory is further backed up with the Old Friend mask in Merry Magoland. Magolor would HAVE to have known what Joronia looked like before her transformation, and that means he would also have met Taranza too at that time. I could be completely wrong about this HAHA but those are my thoughts on that.
When Wave 3 was announced, I didn't think much on the connection of the 3 characters other than they were from the first three core games of modern Kirby. But then they posted this art piece.
Tumblr media
It's so cute how Magolor and Taranza combined their magic to create a shield for Kirby!! Both of their respective magic circle designs are melded together perfectly. Did they practice together on their own to perform this or was that a lucky in-the-moment occurrence? Either way, they must know and understand each other's magic abilities to a decent extent. Like how both Claire and Layton understands each other's careers and goals. Layton is a professor in archeology. Claire is a scientist researching time travel and other stuffs. Those fields go hand in hand, and the two do what they can to support and improve each other's passions.
Now onto the other characters that Taranza would've fit as and reasons why I ended up putting him as Claire.
So I put Sectonia as Descole. Descole has an extremely loyal partner/butler/henchman named Raymond. Yea Taranza would easily fit as him, but a few things made me decide not to. Descole may appear cold and not show it, but even in his madness he cares for Raymond. He does order Raymond around, but he still gives Raymond freewill to do as he pleases. Sectonia is very controlling over Taranza. If Raymond were to make mistakes, I don't see Descole punishing him for them. Sectonia would. She blasted Taranza away for mistaking Dedede as the hero of the lower world. Maybe when she was Joronia she wouldn't and wasn't as controlling but....I feel we don't have the full story on their relationship. I also focused more on Sectonia's overall in-game personality. I absolutely love seeing the two spiders enjoying each other's company and having fun, but in-game we never really got what Joronia really thought of Taranza. As Sectonia, she saw him as a disposable servant. You can say her personality was corrupted by the mirror, but I personally believe the mirror actually amplified her negative feelings and views. Negative emotions are brought up a lot in Kirby lore. I personally find that more interesting than just the mirror possessing her or something. I may be very wrong on that, but those are what I thought about.
Last reason, which is uhm, Raymond saves Descole from death FGDHSJ I don't think I need to elaborate on that. It would be so neat and ironic to have Taranza as Raymond, but I also wanna keep things in line as possible with Kirby lore canon.
Yet, who could be Raymond then? Idk fgdsj that's why I struggled so much. If Claire wasn't an option, Taranza would've been Raymond.
Now the one other character Taranza could've fit as is Descole's late wife. His wife was never mentioned by name, to my memory, and didn't have a huge role in the games. There's not enough information on who she was. I wanted to give Taranza a fitting role in personality and importance.
So in the end after all that thinking, Claire it is! I also don't know who else in the Kirby cast would fit her better and be Professor Magolor's late partner. One may think Susie would fit Claire more, but I've already decided she will be Emmy. Emmy's and Susie's personalities are very similar to me. And Emmy's lore? Fits quite well with Susie's. I'll draw that at some point.
So uh yea. Thanks for reading all that if you did! Hope you enjoyed the insanity

Regarding future season structure, I do see the show moving away from a narrated format after TVL but I do hope we get some flashbacks of other characters (not full seasons) bc I do hope we get some TVA moments and if they are doing past DM🤞. And Marius.. hate him or love him he is an interesting character.
I know they keep calling S3 TVL and I might be wrong but I got the sense that they are doing TVL/QOTD at the same time with TVL as the focus for S3. Tbh I always thought of both books like a duology bc they go together so well.
I'm torn on TVL being one or two seasons bc I do think there will be some pushback if past Lestat takes up more than 50% of the season. I am not downplaying Lestat's popularity but if Louis is missing for more than 50% of the season? Yeah won't be a good look. I also don't really see the show going back and showing too many previously established scenes from Lestat's pov in Nola.
So imo it makes sense to me to stretch TVL to two seasons but to also do QOTD as the current story going on at the same time.
Either way I'm beyond excited bc I love both books.
Arguably, I think they have already started on QotD (in combination with Amel, imho). Because we have the ever increasing vampire population, the "great conversion". "Those who must be kept" have been named, several times, the importance of the blood of Akasha has been pointed out.
TVL and QotD were always a story that went together, and I am not sure how much episodes they will give us, but I do think TVL will end on the show with the same cliffhanger the book does: namely Akasha coming in and kidnapping Lestat right after the (a) last? concert - and worse here, I think it will be from Louis' arms.
S3 will not contradict or reshow all of S1&2. TVL doesn't do that either. And the season 3 press release has been clear:
“In season three, resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller ‘Interview With The Vampire,’ the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can—by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma.”
There will be Louis. Of course?! The show is built on Loustat. But we are not on IWTV anymore. This has also been stated:
"Sam worked really hard for two years as a supporting actor, and I think Jacob is very excited to do the same thing for him, and put Sam front and center," Jones tells EW. "We've just scratched the surface with Sam, who's an incredible actor."
To repeat in what I said in my recent PSA (reblog): I don't care about actual screentime percentage. Or top billing, or whatever. They said they would keep Jacob and they better(!).
IWTV was Louis' story, narrated by him. TVL, QotD, TtotBT are all narrated by Lestat (for the most part). That will reflect, but I also think that there is no way we will not have a LOT of Louis in the story.

Nova’s Notes - DD - May 9 & 11
I’m combining both of these entries into one since I have similar thoughts about both!
First off, yay we get our first time meeting Mina and Lucy!!!!!!!! And may I just say it’s great to see these girls being besties and chatting? You can tell just by the way they write that they have known each other a long time. Bram actually did a good job writing these women talking to each other. It feels natural and organic. Finally a “men writing women” moment where I don’t want to gag. I will still never get over the adaptations pitting these two lovely ladies against each other!! Why do we still feel the need to make them “compete.” Ugh :(
Mina’s Letter - I love how she starts right away with “forgive me for not writing you.” She already KNOWS Lucy is going to get on her for that, lol. Also her gushing about Jonathan is adorable and I love how she talks about writing to him in code. Those two nerds, they’re going to end me with their cuteness. Also, studying lady journalists to help with your journalism? What a queen doing that research. As she should! Again, it’s the bare minimum, but Stoker really did a good job with this one I must say. Seeing her be hopeful about Jonathan’s trip to Transylvania and the subsequent promise of seeing places like that together is a bit sobering. :( that is, until we reach her PS!
“You have not told me anything for a long time.” This line makes me want to laugh for some reason and I’m not quite sure why? Maybe it’s because I can hear a slightly scolding tone when she says it, or maybe because I can totally see me telling one of my friends this, especially to goad them into telling me the tea. Either way, it’s great.
“I hear rumours, and especially of a tall, handsome, curly-haired man???”
I’m convinced Stoker read my texts or something because LOL that’s literally how I type! The idea of her writing “???” is adorable and I love it so much. Also by “rumors” does she mean Lucy’s mom? I’m pretty sure she means Lucy’s mom. I think it’s funny the first really descriptive thing we really hear of Arthur is his curly hair!
We can get a good glimpse of Mina’s personality just by this letter. We can already tell she’s genuinely excited to be married to Jonathan and help with his work. She is also very methodical, as she is thinking of several different ways she can practice her stenography and shorthand to help assist him. Like Jonathan, she does her research by reading up on how women in similar fields conduct their craft. She is obviously hopeful and in love with him, as she dreams of seeing new places with him after they are married.
However, she does not neglect Lucy in her missive! While her letter is mostly about Jonathan (which I assume is likely due to to Lucy asking after him and most engaged people do tend to talk about their fiancé — just look at Jonathan), she does take time at the beginning and ending of the letter to a) assure Lucy she misses her and b) tell her the latest news ASAP!! This shows that she deeply cares about her friend, even with her impending nuptials.
Lucy’s Letter - “I must say you tax me very unfairly with being a bad correspondent. I wrote to you twice since we parted, and your last letter was only your second.”
Yep, sure enough, Lucy gets on Mina for not writing to both of her letters (I do wonder if Mina answered everything that was in both letters…). Of course, it’s in a good-natured way and it gives me the same vibes as Rarity from MLP:FIM fainting into a couch or something and I am HERE FOR IT (for those who don’t watch the show, I genuinely mean this as a compliment. I love Rarity -- also I could probably make a whole post about Dracula characters as MLP characters, hmm…).
“Besides, I have nothing to tell you. There is really nothing to interest you.”
*Proceeds to list the hottest gossip* I love this girl so much. She has my whole heart.
“Some one has evidently been telling tales.”
Yep, definitely Lucy’s mom! I would love to see the letters between Mina and Lucy’s mom tbh.
Also when talking about Arthur, it’s so adorable because you can tell at first she only tries to sprinkle in a little bit about him, like “oh he’s just someone I met” and then it quickly morphs into “we met this guy who would be great for you” (Seward mention!!!! Can’t wait to meet everyone’s favorite pathetic wet cat /pos) to “I’m already picking up his slang and using his first name and did I mention IM IN LOVE WITH HIM????”
You can already learn so much about Lucy from this first letter. She’s sweet and caring to the people around her, lively about everything and a bit unsure about love (since she doesn’t quite know if Arthur loves her back). I looked up her age (idk if that counts as spoilers but I’ll tag this as such just in case) and she’s 19!!! This is exactly the kind of letter I would expect a 19-year-old to write to her best friend. I just love how excited she sounds, as she should!!! She’s a young girl in love, perhaps for the first time, and wants her best friend to know. I do love how she tells Mina “write back to me IMMEDIATELY with your thoughts.” Same, Lucy, same.
Back to Seward. It’s so funny to me that he wants to make a psychological study of her while staring straight into her soul and she seems to be chill with it!! Like she still loves Arthur, but she’s also not put off by Jack, either. He’s just got that neurodivergent urge to study her under a microscope and honestly, who can blame him? I can also see why Lucy would ship Seward and Mina together; obviously, I’m a diehard Jonmina shipper (and I’m pretty sure Lucy is too, she just likes chaos), but I feel like Mina and Seward would totally bond over train schedules and other nerd stuff.
So, to sum it up, I love both of these girls and their friendship so much and I can’t wait to see more of them!!! Eeeee

Stranger Tales Part 26
Tumblr media
Read the rest on AO3
I ended up combining the top two results because they were fairly close and worked well together. Thanks for following this silly little story 🤍
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
After Eddie finished his ice cream and walked with the others to the front, he froze and looked back at the food court. He could just barely see Steve with his head on crossed arms by the register. Was he pouting?
He felt a little bad at possibly hurting Steve, but he shook it off and left with the others.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
Not getting Eddie's number left Steve feeling far heavier than he thought it should have. He caught a glimpse of Eddie's group leaving and he fully deflated, knowing that he blew it.
For the rest of his shift, he moved about as if he were a zombie, just going through the procedures without a thought. Robin tried to be supportive, but it fell on deaf ears.
His ego had never been lower. He couldn't even succeed at flirting with a guy. He'd officially lost his game entirely.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
When Steve put the keys in his car door, he froze at seeing something in the driver's seat. It was a folded piece of paper that must have been slipped through the window he usually kept cracked for airflow.
He opened the door and picked it up as he sat down. When he unfolded it, he saw that it was a torn out notebook page with a list of very random and confusing questions.
"How many rings of power are in Lord of the Rings? How many strings does an electric guitar have? What's the armor class of a mimic?" Steve squinted in confusion. "The what of what?" He chalked it up to some joke and tossed the paper in the passenger seat with a sigh as he made his way home.
He almost left the paper behind when he got home, but something about it nagged at him, so he took it with him to his room. He looked over the questions after he got changed and almost none of them made sense to him. The Dark Crystal sounded familiar, but he wasn't sure what a gelfling was.
He'd unfortunately been around Dustin and the others enough to know that a lot of these were nerd terms. He was tempted to ask them, but he'd likely never hear the end of it, and with Dustin still in his stupid summer camp, he'd have to rely on the others.
He sighed and crumpled the paper up, tossing it into the corner of his room. Why did he care? It was probably just some stupid joke, anyway. He shouldn't pay it any mind.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
That note stayed crumpled up in the corner of Steve's room for a few days. He wanted to say it was forgotten about, but he almost picked it up multiple times, but left it where it laid. Even picking it up and putting it back when he vacuumed his room.
It wasn't until he overheard Mike, Lucas, and Will talking while he got them ice cream that his interest was piqued again.
"Dude, my arrow blasted through that dire wolf's armor class," Lucas bragged.
Steve froze and chewed on his lip. "You wouldn't happen to know the armor class of a... what was it... mimic?" he asked awkwardly, handing Will his cone as Mike paid for them.
"Why?" Mike asked accusatorily.
"Uh, no reason. Forget it," Steve muttered.
As Mike and Lucas walked off, Will hung back with a look of deep thought. "Seven," he stated softly, with a sweet smile at Steve.
"Thanks, you're one of the good ones," Steve laughed.
"Will, you coming?" Mike called.
"Yeah!" Will perked and rushed up to meet them.
An excitement built in Steve at getting his first answer. He wrote a '7' on the back of his thumb in pen so he wouldn't forget when he got home.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
Steve rushed up to his room and smoothed the crumpled paper out on his desk. He'd looked at the seven on his thumb so many times throughout the day that he didn't need the reminder anymore and wrote it in after the corresponding question.
He beamed at himself, feeling a little proud, and he read over the other questions. Even if it was a joke, a scavenger hunt could be fun.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
To his surprise, Steve found himself at the library that weekend. He checked out the books referenced in the questions and stopped by Family Video on the way home to pick up a few movies.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
Eddie had been struggling with trying to focus at home, so he decided to hit the food court to work on his next campaign. The noisy bustling around him helped him focus for some strange reason. As he passed Scoops Ahoy, something caught his attention, and he backpedaled to see Steve on his break in one of the booths with his nose in 'Dragons of Autumn Twilight'.
The wide grin was unavoidable. Eddie wasn't even able to bite it away as he made his way to his preferred table. He chose it so he could keep half an eye on Steve in his little sailor uniform. Honestly, he felt a little silly for making that list and even more ridiculous for actually giving it to him, but when he saw the paper that he'd torn from the same notebook he was opening spread out in front of Steve, he felt a little bubble of hope.
He wasn't entirely sure what he was hopeful of, but never in his life did he expect to see Steve Harrington with his face buried in a fantasy novel. To top it off, it looked like he was actually invested in it.
When Steve lowered the book, Eddie saw that Steve was chewing on a pen. Not only was it adorable, but Eddie bit his tight smile when he saw Steve jot something down on the paper.
He had no idea what would come of Steve answering all of those, or if he'd even make the connection of what it all meant, but just the fact that Steve was putting effort towards it made Eddie beyond happy.
༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒༒
It took him almost the full week, but come Friday, Steve had every question answered. Even though the books interested him more than he'd anticipated, he generally stopped reading after he got his answer. He planned to pick them up again sometime, but for now, they'd served their purpose.
Steve placed the paper on the table in the back room of Scoops Ahoy and stared at it proudly, The partially read 'Lord of the Rings' book sat on the table beside him as he wrote a '20' after the last remaining question. "Done," he sighed happily to the empty room. "Now what?"
He furrowed his brows, looking over the paper. He'd answered everything, but he still had no idea what it was for. Who had given it to him? Why did they give it to him? Was it meant for someone else? He'd hoped that once he'd answered all of the questions, he'd get some answers of his own, but all he had was a paper filled with nerd trivia.
Don't forget to vote and reblog ^-^

Which is your favorite primarchs, loyalist and traitor and why?
roboute guilliman is my favourite loyalist, even though i know that is a basic bitch answer. in 30k, i love that his superpower is basically ‘actually knowing how to plan things’ and ‘had parents who loved him’ — and these two things combine to make him a complete powerhouse of efficiency (who can also kill word bearers in the void of space). in 40k, i love his major ‘tired older sister holding the shitty family together’ energy — he’s tired and broken and wants nothing more than for it all to stop so he can run away onto a farm somewhere, but he knows it won’t stop, and he can’t stop, so he does his duty and keeps going. there’s something so beautifully human about his story: the story of the child who must shoulder the burden his father gave him; of the good man who does what he must even though it eats him alive; of the king who never wanted the throne, but — ironically — is the most fit to sit upon it.
traitor is harder - i like writing perturabo, because he’s just a massive arsehole who could have saved himself if he wasn’t such an unlikeable prick. i also really like writing konrad, even though he’s the absolute worst and completely insane. i think my favourite has got to be magnus though, because although he did do quite a bit wrong, he was also the victim of some terrible terrible parenting (more so than the others!) and almost to the end he was just trying to save his sons.
honourable mention also goes to the lion, because he’s a feral bastard in 30k and a man who has wisdom forced down his gullet in 40k; both are very fun to write. its a shame that his legion doesn’t have much in the way of really interesting lore - would have loved if they had leant more into the welsh king arthur returns thing.

Adopted Au Headcannons for R!Leo
So this is very heavily based off of the Adopted Mikey Au and the Adopted Donnie Au done by @tblsomedoodles so if you don't know the basics that would be a great place to start. (They also gave me permission to write these headcannons to thank you again!!!!).
Basically, I was at work, and absently thinking about their Adopted Aus, and thought, "who would adopt R!Leo (otherwise listed as Blue) if he went missing in another dimension?" And first some reason the first person that popped into my head was 2012 Donatello, so this is that train wreck.
Keep in mind that Blue is, like, 3-4 yr. old in this au, and happened to get sent to the 2012 universe after being attacked in the sewers of his own dimension and doesn't go back to his home dimension until right before the Rise show starts.
Purple is R!Leo's comfort color (since it reminds him of his twin) so I can see Donnie being the first person he would latch onto.
-It helps that the reason Blue is in this universe would be a highly coincidentally timed portal on 2012 Donnie's end that transported both Leo and the mutant attacking him to the sewers nearby
Donnie goes to investigate the energy surge that happened during the fight and finds Blue, saving him from either the mutant that had been attacking him prior to the portal or the krang who might have been the reason for the portal in the first place, haven't decided yet. Donnie takes him home to patch him up, and gets imprinted on by a very lost, confused, and scared Blue who just wants his twin but hey this stranger is wearing Purple's colors so he must nice, right?
Blue obviously gets most of his sense of humor and energy from Uncle Mikey. They love to skateboard together and play pranks, usually involving a lot of messes to clean up. Both get into food competitions, where whoever can throw together the weirdest food combination and eat it without throwing up wins (Donnie always gets upset when they do that though, worried about Blue's health).
Uncle Raph is probably (read definitely) the most protective of the uncles, and even though he isn't the sensei, he still helps teach Blue how to fight. He'll introduce him to Chompy and show him to use the pinball machine, and if anyone accused Raph of going soft he'd slap their head then go get Blue for their scheduled nap (because Blue will only sleep if someone else is there). Blue likes that Raph is so big, because it reminds him of Red (even if Raph is bigger than he remembers Red being), and naps with him are the best (but he'll never tell his dad that). If I do include the fact that Blue gets plushies that remind him of his brothers like @tblsomedoodles did in their au, they were made/knitted by Raph (once again, something he'll never admit, he just claims he found them randomly)
Uncle Leo, of course, is the sensei, but they still interact outside of training. Out of all the uncles, Blue probably looks up to Leo the most, resulting in another "Splinter Junior" situation, but between Leos, and less copy but no less "hero worship." Leo is like the Jupiter Jim or Captain Ryan of Blue's childhood. Leo will introduce Blue to Space Heroes, and the two will spend hours basically fan-boying over the show.
Obviously Blue is closest with his self-assigned dad, Donnie. Donnie is the reason that Blue gets so interested in medical practices and chemistry, and Donnie has a lot of practice (cough Mikey) with grabby hands in the lab, so he knows how to keep an eye on Blue while still working in a way that lets Blue stay in the lab during the day if he wants to. Blue thinks his dad is the coolest guy ever, being able to make whatever he wants (He built such a cool car! and Metalhead was awesome!) and fixing anything that breaks (like his toys). He learns sarcasm by watching his dad talk with Uncle Casey, and boy was that something that Donnie will always regret (second only to the fact that Casey also seemed to be trying to teach Blue how to flirt). (side note: this would be in a universe that did not emphasize a lot of romance. While all of that drama still happened when they were teenagers, the only couple that I MIGHT have as canon in the Au would be Raph/Mona, because it was the only ship that didn't have some kind of problematic background). When Blue decides that his dad hasn't slept enough, he'll go and sit on his lap, and just start to fall asleep. In an effort to make him comfortable, Donnie will try to move him to the bed, and when he tries to go back to work, Blue will latch onto his arm and refuse to let go, forcing him to stay "just until Blue falls asleep." Leo walks in ten minutes later to the father-son duo practically dead to the world on the bed. On the other hand, if Donnie doesn't want to be disturbed by anyone, Blue will make it his personal mission to keep the uncles out of the lab.
It's unclear when exactly Donnie became Blue's "dad," it just happened one day with Blue walking into the room, half-asleep, and asking his dad (by his now new title) if he had seen his blanket/plushies. Donnie, understandably, freaks out internally (and later externally) but can't deny that something in him was both happy and sad: happy because he had grown attached to the little tot; sad because he knew that a time would come when he would have to send him back home (dealing with alternates has left Donnie with the very real realization that this is probably a another little Leo, especially after hearing Blue talk about his brothers). Among the infinite possibilities of universes, though, that would take some time, so maybe it would be ok for the kid to call him that? He'd ask for advice from his brothers and April, and all of them, while equally cautious, would encourage him to let it happen because dangit they're attached too (although Leo would be the most hesitant, with his sense of responsibility).
I'd like to think that Blue learned Spanish by watching tv with April and Casey. Sure, he watches tv with his uncles too, but I can't see them watching anything that might have Spanish in them. I'm imagining that April and Casey were babysiting and both fell asleep with the tv on (thinking Blue was asleep too). Some Spanish drama came on and little Blue fell in love with the accent, so he started trying to copy it. Donnie caught on and set up a system to teach him some of the words instead of just copying the accent (he doesn't know spanish, but there are a lot of learning programs online he can hack into). It becomes a bonding experience between little Blue and the humans, since they take it upon themselves to help him learn whenever they babysit (April being more successful in these lessons than Casey).
Blue was seen as very athletic in Rise!, so I imagine that he fairly enjoys sports. Watching Casey play hockey probably kick started it, which evolved into skateboarding, basketball, baseball, football, etc. He couldn't play all of these a lot, but skateboarding and basketball (or at least shooting hoops) were fairly simple to set up and do constantly. He likes baseball and football simply for the fact that it gives him and excuse to throw a ball and run around a lot, but he doesn't play them often and prefers the other two. His uncles help set up a basketball hoop in the lair for one of his birthdays, and all he did for the next week was shoot hoops.
He thinks April is cool. Leo may be Blue's personal hero, but April is a SUPER hero. She had powers and a cool outfit, and in Blue's mind that's all he needed to label his new favorite aunt as an honest to goodness superhero (followed later by Mikey's alter-ego Turflytle). He's always following her around when she visits the lair and trying to get her to make him "fly."
Instead of the lair being attacked by the mutant/yokai that tried to kidnap and eat Blue, I imagine that the event that triggers Blue's return to his original world involving the Krang. The Krang attacked the lair or there was an attack outside somewhere that Blue snuck out and got stuck in, but a Krang would attempt to drag Blue through the portal to use as bait or leverage, and Blue's ninpo messed with the portal and sent him home (without the Krang for some reason, idk its fanfiction so fanon magic). He returns to the same place where he disappeared in his world, not that he remembers that that is where he left, and instead of Tello or Angie finding him, it would be Raphie (because I'm trying not to be too similar to the original Adopted AU, no more than I already am). The rest of the Rise show continues as normal.
Maybe if I get more inspiration I'll do some headcannons for when R!Leo reconnects with his family in the 12 dimension, but for now this is all I can think of.
