Just because she knows what he's going to say doesn't make hearing it any easier. Sure, Rain is used to people having feelings for her, but almost always the bad ones. Or in the rare situations where people are interested, it is always surface level, because why the hell would it go deeper than that?

(Connor should consider therapy just for being interested in her, really.)

"Well!" She doesn't have anything at first, just bright red cheeks, and flames poking out around the edges of her fists. It happens whenever there is any kind of intense emotion, and she is certainly feeling them now. "Why not just like... ask me on a date! We can go on a date!" And now he's got her yelling too.

"Do you want to go on a date?!" It doesn't sound nearly as romantic as it should.

Rain's instant hesitation and unsurety cements the fact that she honestly, genuinely had no idea. And Connor truly does not know what to do with that.

But then she seems to catch on. She makes a joke, just like she always does, and Connor makes a strangled noise in the back of his throat. Because he can see the thought catch in her mind, all the subtle microexpressions that a human would miss. He, however, misses none of it.

It nearly sends his Thirium pump into overdrive. But Rain doesn't say it outright. She asks, and lets the unfinished question hang in the air between them. Because she is nothing if not the most frustrating, enthralling person he's ever met.

It's maddening.

"I have feelings for you, Rain!" Connor's voice nearly catches in his throat as he finally admits it.

you know something. shadow is honestly ridiculously lax and even veers on the edge of being """nice""" (in his own way) with the hinoxes. and it's hilarious:

like sorry but if it were me. and a bunch of clumsy ass hinoxes were fucking around with the mirror that granted me near-unlimited power and also a body. i would do a little more than call them idiots and shake my fist at them while yelling at them to get out. i would literally just straight up kill them. also him bursting in when vio hits (kills, actually, according to the fan translation where shadow actually says "why did you kill him?") the hinox and immediately giving him a squinty-eyed suspicious look because of it is SO fucking funny. and also the last picture is even more so because of the fucking expression on the hinox. just "shadow somebody threw a hammer on me after trying to break the dark mirror and now i've got a case of the ouchies :(((" like brother you just KNOW if they pulled that same expression in front of ganon or vaati they'd be vaporized on the spot. what's going on here
