My thoughts on how they changed up Armand’s backstory in the show is that I LOVE IT!! 🙏🙏so so true so true I love musical Armand he is so funny and real, that is such a good comparison. What I love about musical armand is that in making armand a very visible explicit adult while keeping his backstory relatively the same they kind of lean into this alternate reality where by growing up Armand sort of experienced living “past his prime” and was turned in less of a preservation of his beauty and youth (🤢) and more of in a panicked, pathetic last ditch move, which rlly kind of hammers home the sad kicked dog vibe he has ❤️. Like, I love the thematic value of Armand being an eternal child so much. It’s just so so sad and effective, picturing him as this visible child who is yknow, torturing and killing ppl and leading cults, and even owning property and running businesses, but no matter what he is doing he is always displaying this very apparent physical reminder of his stunted growth and his trauma, that will always be anyone’s first impression of him, that causes him active inconveniences and insecurities. He’s a physical embodiment of the most vulnerable time in his life, trying despite it to gain respect and instill fear. He’s like a child ghost!! I love how his stunted growth manifests as a disability, I love how he is often perceived as a girl bcus of his appearance which adds a trans layer, i love how when Armand’s sad he appears for a moment like the child who was abused, I love love love it.

And that version of Armand will always be my favorite, but I still LOVE the way in the show (and musical before her) is doing it. Back on the topic of the musical, while I don’t think it can carry the same layer of tragedy and depth as the books, the musical frames Armand in a way that’s very upsetting in a different way. He’s like, very pathetic 😭. This grown ass man still stuck in time as a “beautiful youth”, longing for the man who sexually abused him when he was fifteen, stuck in the mindset of the child he was, looking for his past in everything he does and everyone he meets. It’s different, but still carry’s that tragic weight 😭. But the musical wasn’t interested (or maybe didn’t have the time) in exploring that tragedy in any depth, so Armand’s pathetic past his prime vibe is framed more as almost comedically embarrassing then sad. And on the note of the show!!!!! What I love so so much about show Armand’s backstory changes is that they take what the musical was putting down but didn’t have time for and explore it with all the weight it needs, and it’s SO GOOD!!!

Armand as not of a literal external youth but instead a metaphorical one, a technical adult who was kept as a slave and treated as a child for his entire adulthood until he was eventually thrust into vampirism and subsequently abandoned, so he carry’s this internal stunting, is AMAZING. He was raised in a way that instilled in him and prevented him from ever being a functioning, independent person, and then forced into roles of dire leadership and horrible loneliness. In one of my fics I compare him to a pampered lap dog who’s been abandoned on the streets. Amc Armand reminds me of the song memory from cats, which has always reminded me of Armand but hits harder in this version. He’s so 😭😭 abandoned elderly cat who is longing for his past (which for Armand was super shitty, but remains the only time he was loved) and just looking to experience that love and comfort again 😭. The “love and comfort” that was sexual and physical abuse and literal enslavement 😭. It’s so sad.

I love that amc iwtv doesn’t necessarily change Armand’s backstory of being sold into slavery, but rlly hammers home in the details that he was and continued to be a slave. The racial element is just, ugh, omg, so mf good. They take Armand’s trauma in the books of being deprived of his cultural background by being sold into slavery and bought by Marius, and basically cut off from his religious beliefs and made to feel alienated from religion bcus of his sexual trauma, and by making Armand a person of color rlly elevate that in a super sad super meaningful way. I also love how they add little horrific traumas to rlly instill that Armand was a slave to Marius, that he was his property. Rlly sad!!! 😭 I love it.

the only thing that I don’t like about the changes in Armand’s backstory (which r not a lot, and r mostly based in Assad zaman’s casting whom I love as Armand, they stay surprisingly faithful to the books) Is the thing where Armand’s parents (apparently) willingly sold him into slavery. Part of the huge tragedy with Armand being sold and loosing himself to that is that his parents were not perfect, and not especially good to him, but they loved him so so much, and he looses his memory and connection to two parents who love and miss him, and are devastated by loosing him. Which even tho it’s technically a better reality for Armand then, he had parents who betrayed him, it hits sm harder imo. But, I don’t resent the writers for that bcus I have a theory that I think it’s very likely that the reality of the books is true, and Armand believes that his parents sold him bcus that was a lie Marius fed him to ease his own guilt about keeping Armand from his family so that he can sexually abuse him. If my theory is wrong, and Armand’s parents rlly did sell him, I will be disappointed and wish they stayed more faithful to the books, but I won’t be super mad cuz I love everything else they r doing so much, and it doesn’t retract from that too much.

On the subject of amc and musical Armand comparisons, I hope the show adapts/ takes inspo from a change that the musical made that I love a lot and think could rlly rlly work in the show. In the musical, during the scene where Armand throws Lestat off the tower, Lestat pushes Armand into doing this by mockingly telling him that Marius is alive and has not only chosen to not reconnect with armand bcus he’s not as important to him as Armand perceives, but also he has told Lestat how Armand was a mistake and he should have never made him bcus Marius thinks he’s crazy and beyond hope. And musical armand screams at Lestat that he’s lying, shouts HE LOVED ME!!! And pushes lestat off the tower, bcus he refuses to accept the reality of his fucked up relationship with Marius. Which, dude, I literally love that change in the musical sm and almost wish it was in the books. I sometimes forget that in the books Armand finds out Marius is alive from Lestats book offscreen and we don’t see his immediate reaction at all, just his reaction to reuniting with Marius after already processing that he’s alive. I RLLY HOPE that amc iwtv takes this change the musical made and elevates it, bcus I am the only guy who talks about it and I need everyone else to care 😭. It would translate so perfectly in the show amc pls hire me.

That was his name, the richest boy on campus

He was rich, filthy rich.

Yet also a mean person who never cared about others

He always comes to school in a limo or a rolls-royce, while you on the other hand, weren’t so stable when it came to money.

Your mother had left due to an argument when you were little, and you father was left to provide for the both of you.

You worked a few part-time jobs to bring more money in, yet it wasn’t always enough.

Which is why you vowed to study hard and become rich later, and to spoil your father for staying with you when your mother had left.

One day, he invited you to a party of his.

He walked up to you and said:”Hey (y/n)!! Im throwing my birthday party this weekend on sunday! Wanna come?”

You were surprised but agreed, since you didn’t have money to buy nice clothes you just wore a normal, simple dress to his party.

As soon as you arrived, Leeknow’s friends started laughing really hard.

You just stood there, clueless, while Leeknow came up to you.

“Are you serious? I give you an invitation to my party and you actually have the audacity to show up like this?”

“What?!” You were quite annoyed,

“Your too broke to buy nice clothes?” He mocked.

You just stared at him angrily.

“Well not everyone is born with a golden spoon yknow?..” you mutter out.

“I made this money myself, you peasant.”

And then the others laughed at your mistake, while you stood there embarrassed.

“Gosh youre so dumb.”

And that was it.

You snapped as you slapped him and ran away.

The guests were all flabbergasted.

It was so silent you could hear a pin fall.

You just got to the exit and dialed a taxi to brung you home.

Little did you know, it was probably not a smart choice to do that..

The next day came, you got ready and left for college.

Everyone was whispering about you and giving you mean glances.

You simply chose to ignore this and went up to your locker.

You opened your locker and out your stuff in it.

But then as you turned around you noticed someone behind you.

You looked up and saw Leeknow starring daggers at you.

“You think you’re going to get away with embarrassing me at my OWN party?”

You then pushed him away and went to your class.

After all your lessons you went to the school bathroom.

Leeknow silently followed you in the hall and before you got inside the bathroom he pinned you to the wall besides the door.

“Gotcha”

He whispered.

“Please stop” you said.

“Ill make your life a fucking hell, I’ll make sure your dad gets fired” he then answered.

“What?!- who do you think you are? You can’t just do that?!”

“Yes I can and I will.”

He gripped your wrist so hard it was painful.

“O-Ow.. you whimpered out

You started tearing up.

“Aww, is the little brat gonna cry?” He cooed.

After a while he said this: “you know what? Let’s make a deal, you become my pet and listen to every single thing I tell you to do, and in return I will spoil you, make sure your dad will keep his job.

I’ll let you have a little taste of how it is to be rich.”

He said.

“Y-Your pet?..” you mutter out confused.

“Correct, if you become my pet nothing bad will happen to you, trust me, I will spoil you and you can spend my money all you want.” He smirks.

Gently tucking your hair behind your ears and leaning in closer.

“C-Can I give some of that money to my dad?..” you whispered.

“Hmm, if you’re a good pet then I guess it wont hurt to do so.” He shrugged.

“Okay then..” you agreed…

“Good, now come with me, we’re skipping school to go on a.. what was it?.. a shopping spree or sum.”

You silently complied and walked behind him as he led you to his car.

You stepped in and immediately noticed the expensive smell of wood and vanilla mixed together.

Leeknow gave his driver a location to go to as you put on your seatbelt.

Soon you guys were driving through the city, with the sky a mix of orange and pink, the clouds looking beautiful.

Oh boy… was this a good idea?…

Hi uh it's been. Awhile. I'm not too active anymore but like. What's going on with you, Ash, Chess, Bree, and uh fuck I forgot their name, the "Your Favorite Girlie" or something similar blog? I thought yall were besties? I'm a little confused. I follow almost everyone because of the yknow who incident, but now everyone's at each other's throats? I don't wanna stir drama I'm just rlly confused 😭

i don’t actually know bree at all. basically in a discord @/vonillabean got a anon that sounded like her and talia made a joke saying it sounded like bree which she got on the defense immediately saying how if it was her she’d speak with her chest blah blah blah. she went radio silent and then talia made a general post about issues in the african american community and bree thought it applied to her so she went on her alternate account to handle the situation for herself and then reaped the repercussions on it.

the whole thing was stupid so i made a joke saying biggest dick rider of the year which made bree want to start reblogging me. she tried to insult me but it was just like first grader stuff and it was just me clowning on her for having a second account she’s pretending to be and how obvious it is. she deleted posts talking about me to cover up wrong information as well as not show how stupid she looked. it was all very embarrassing and it was just her reaching for scraps because she feels the need to have the last word for something that isn’t that serious. she then tried to diminish my opinion saying im a writer who gets no notes when if we were to compare the notes and the writing skills it would be a mess for one of us.

bree has a questionable view on miles smut, writes minors in unsafe situations, and is overall a questionable writer. it’s just embarrassing to watch her anon herself and get 0 notes as she talks to herself on her page about me as it’s clear my comments got her tight. it’s just funny watching someone pretend to be another person when it’s painfully obvious and embarrassing. since everyone seeing what ive posted i got a bunch of messages talking about weird fics that she write that i had no idea about and it’s just super concerning. at one point she started talking about honey and how she needs to speak up like clearly she was just using tumblr and her anon to vent her adrenaline and frustrations.

but to summarize, the whole thing is about bree using alt accounts pretending it’s someone else when it’s her and attacking people, defending miles smut, writing questionable things, and just being as she says best about me: a weirdo. don’t edge her on in her inbox y’all it’s actually sad to watch someone inbox themself all day and make posts that nobody is looking at about someone else. it’s embarrassing, humiliating to people outside of herself, and she clearly has her own problems.

Ok so like, yknow how in my posts i'd be all like "stab me w/ pitchforks but i rlly like:" yknow right? well thats bc of the stupid affect I got from being on other social media, or hell games (Twitter, Tik Tok, Roblox) Like hell it might've not been me ever but I saw people get bullied on these platforms and I always just was like anxiously twiddling my thumbs all like "erm.. what if that happens to me.." Poetry mostly but I also roleplay online if that counts, plus I do DnD,, I love my character creation 🤧 Tangentially related but psychology is also one of my main interests I absolutely love learning about it!!!

Oh I’m also currently studying art, my skills are mostly in traditional drawing and painting but lately I’ve tried pottery+ceramics and I’m slowly cracking away at digital art too!! My goal is to one day be able to write and illustrate my own stories someday ✨🌈 My favorite genres are fantasy, mystery, romance, and horror!!!

I rlly love spooky stuff teehee, I tend to be a lil thrill seeking, mostly just for stuff like roller coasters, horror movies and games, haunted houses, escape rooms, etc, I find it SO fun I love Halloween sooo much

Hello Anon! You put a great amount of information! I'm trying to finish the original Obey Me game before I get too into Nightbringer, but with me only being up to Lesson 18, it could take a while. Hope you like your matchup!

If you can cook, you'd be able to make things you know you'll like, and you won't have to worry about dying from Solomon's attempts at cooking.

If you can't cook, either the brothers or Barbatos would be more than happy to help you out, making dishes for you while also teaching you how to make them yourself.

Solomon loves spooky stuff so he's right there with you in haunted houses, cinemas to watch the latest horror movie, on rollercoasters...you name it, Solomon's up to the challenge!

He also loves sitting down with you and trying to copy whatever you're drawing or painting. He's probably not as good as you but he tries his best. He can always just use a bit of magic while you're not watching to make his scribbles look a bit better.

Solomon loves that you have the desire to write and illustrate your own books. He'd feel honoured if you would share your progress with him. But he's also happy to wait until the final product is finished. It just means more anticipation and surprise when he finally gets to see your work.

Solomon playing D&D would be an experience. He's got so many stories from his years of life that all of his characters are probably just him from different eras. I really want to write a fanfic about the Obey Me character playing D&D now...

Because Solomon's been around so long, he's also a ready reference for a lot of psychology questions you have. He's seen so many people and how they think so there are very few questions you could ask that he wouldn't be able to answer.

its my favourite part of his character the way the narrative treats him as this Serious Dangerous Villain and everyone is actually afraid of him/respects him (although thats most likely also jst due to the fear of whatever the hell he might come up with as punishment if they dont so yknow) but he is. so goofy. (which honestly makes the fact that he isnt actually the real main antagonist of the story even funnier. like hes seriously jst this way for the sake of it huh

anyway back to his cringe loser behavior. its also so funny to me how he keeps bragging abt how daaaangerous he is and how he threatens to personally torture the main cast on multiple occasions but he never rlly. does anything even close to it. like at all basically. he kicked his idiot minion goons whod probs knock themselves out on their own if he jst asked them to and hit vivia a very generous number of Once. and i guess stomped on yakou a bunch of times but the man was already fucking helpless dying on the floor like do u get wht im trying to say he only gets physically aggressive with ppl obviously much weaker than him/not able to defend themselves. his ass was RUNNING the Second halara moved in that one scene. this man thinks hes some kind of evil badass but take away his pathetic little whip and he is running to look for someone to use as a human shield asap. i lose 3 years of my life anytime anyone says he could ever win in a fair fight. did u see this man theres not a single defined muscle on his body ok im getting off track wait. point is he makes himself out to be Big and Gweat and Scawy but hes like a cat that hisses and cries if u spray water in his face a little too strongly. also dont get me started on the scene after the ch4 labyrinth where he is POINTING 2 GUNS in yuma and vivs faces but hed still rather stall for 10 minutes monologuing like dude they r literally right there jst pull the trigger. nie masz psychy. god i fucking love him

I think many fanfics or other works featuring Yomi depict him as like Way Too Serious than he actually is like. That's the guy who mastered the skill to ugly cry on command just so he can mock pretend to be distraught at Seth's heinous atrocities (pointed out by his gf of course) before sending him to the chopper this is the only scene where he did so they even gave him like three unique sprites just for that. This is the man that upon watching the liveleak footage of the submarine explosion (whilst using his gf as a seat) exclaimed in the most enthusiastic voice "KABOOM!! It sank all right! Haha!" in front of tens of his men completely unbothered, minutes later after the woman cube incident he says "alllll right now let's go and find the corpses of those detectives that got blown up :)" with his hand up in the air. And that is after his cube scene. And I cannot state this enough, the Cube Machine was not specifically just made as a one time thing for Martina, the weirdly passionate way he speaks about The Cube, stating he's gonna carry the woman flesh cube on his form at all times in front of tens of his men once a-fucking-gain, the goddamn "even humans can be turned into pretty (highlighted in game.) little cubes" line that even I can't fucking decipher is just... he's just really obsessed with the Cube object. There is no normal (well, as normal as attempting to turn your gf into a cube can be) explanation for this. Plus, invented detectivephobia, according to some people. Even if he claims to Makoto, he can easily also be just... gently coaxed by him just politely saying "please🥺" once, into letting an alleged terrorist completely off the hook, that he wanted to capture and torture so bad before that point. Something that always sticks out to me in the book is that Ponyboy is religious and goes to church with Johnny (but then the gang RUINS that 😒😒) so perhaps some hcs for ponyboy going to church for the first time since that whole embarrassing moment anddd maybe curly is with him, hell maybe somehow curly the person to convince pony to go again? Idk I was thinking about this cause I'm in a church choir (just for their Christmas show, I've never even stepped foot in this church 😭😭) and it got me thinking. Also, i am putting pony in church choir and NO ONE can tell me otherwise (OOC? maybe. But let a girl dream)

•pony was thinking of going back to church eventually, and curly knew pony used to go, so he just asked!! pony was hesitant bc he doesn’t have anything TO wear to church, but curly let him borrow some clothes from him and it took some more convincing bc if going to church w his gang was hell he could only imagine it w the shepard, but curly assured him they don’t do much

•of course johnny went a long way pony, johnny really had nothing better to do and he would go to church to get some food, johnny also didn’t have clothes and curlys clothes were NOT gonna fit him, so he just went w his normal outfit. curly said the people at the church don’t rlly mind WHAT u wear as long as ur there, so johnny didn’t feel as awkward about it for sure

•now the church wasn’t in a good condition like pony’s old church, it was in a basement (my old church was too lmaoooo) but pony’s not complaining, a church is a church in his eyes so it’s whatever, but one thing he made sure of when he was in there was that he was way from the shepards mom, tim, and angela for they scare him. semi thankfully tho, curly pulled pony and johnny to be in a different pew behind em, this is like the first time he’s actually been alright just being in a church and it’s bc he has friends!!!

•the pastor made pony and johnny stand up and introduce themselves bc they were new there, they were soooo uncomfortable curly knew that was gonna happen and didn’t warn em he wanted to see the color in their faces drain, pony said his name and they thought pony was trynna b funny, pony’s already wanting to run out the door

•when the service starts if u thought curly was gonna sit there and do nothing, ur wrong, ITS NOT BC PONYS THERE, curlys always acted up in church, pony being there just makes it worse, pony’s trying to pray and curlys whispering his name. doesn’t last for long tho bc tim turned around and smacked curly w a bible. pony would die to see that again btw

•pony’s not saying that the ppl at church can’t play their instruments well, it’s just WOW they’re passionate about it, pony respects the hustle cause the songs they sing r bangers, bonus points if curly gets to play an instrument and that’s y he wanted pony to come along

•that church service was long as shit, usually pony’s at church for 2 or 3 hours, but pony got there in the morning, and left at 5 god damn pm, his ass HURT, but aye,,, the food was worth it,,,pony and johnny got some leftovers plus some purse candy from aunties/grannies who went up to em after squeezing their faces

•at the end of it all, does pony go back to that church??? noooo not rlly, it’s not even a bad church, pony just can’t do a whole DAY of church, at some point he just wants to go home his social battery ain’t that good

they both have supportive parents but in like. different ways almost? king hyrule is like That Is Cool My Daughter Zelda I Will Not Misgender You But I Will Also Not Ever Acknowledge Your Transness Ever Again whereas link’s parents are the type to like suffocate him in suuuuper outward support. link is kinda the type that would rather not be smothered in support and attention but zelda is in love with link’s parents. she can’t believe he finds it embarrassing
