Paige Bueckers is sitting in the stands at a hockey game, eyes darting to each blue jersey on the ice. Scanning all the numbers for #47, the number of UConn’s star left winger, who also happens to be Paige’s girlfriend.

When her eyes land on the #47 jersey, there’s an unmistakable energy in the arena has said hockey player breaks away from a particularly pushy defender to receive the puck (with immaculate timing, the kind that Paige has seen her GF’s team practice countless times) that allows Y/N to make a sneaky move around the last defender. Then a with a precise flick from the wrists, the puck is hitting the back of the net.

Paige and her teammates celebrate with the rest of the students section, as with only 37 seconds left on the clock, that goal has sealed a 6-4 win for the Huskies.

When Y/N skates towards the section where Paige is, she shoots an arrow towards her GF’s general direction. Then draws a heart on the glass and taps the stripes of masking tape under the bottom of the grip, where ‘Paigey Baby’ is written underneath, on her stick 3 times.

“I love you and that goal was for you” is silently communicated between the couple. Paige feels a weight lifted off her shoulders with that.

The couple had gotten into a silly argument the day before, after Paige tried making a TikTok of her shooting a basketball with Y/N’s gloves on.

Y/N was already in a bad mood as she’d just gotten out of a bad chem lab session, and was wanting to put her pent up energy into some shots into the goal at the training facility. Paige didn’t see the text her GF had sent her about what she was doing, too distracted with trying to forget her unproductive study session from that morning to notice anything else.

It would be fair to say Y/N wasn’t up for listening to Paige’s explanation of why said basketball player was wearing the gloves she was looking for.

Both athletes stubbornness made it impossible to see the other’s POV, with Paige letting her earlier frustrations about her bad study session and her GF’s bad mood, the argument spiralled quickly.

So the 3 little taps lifted the weight off Paige’s shoulders.

A post game tiredness was seeping through the thrill of the win, leading to a comfortably quiet ride back to the dorms.

A content sigh leaves Y/N when the couple hold each other in bed that night, with the argument resolved and a promise for better communication in the future.

The Directors of Civil War actually confirmed he didn't know it was Bucky for sure... I mean Zola only hinted and Zola was a Nazi. Would you believe what a Nazi told you?

Also, yes: Tony's response only serves to suggest Steve was right to not tell him. There's no reason to assume Tony would have acted differently had he been told earlier because he know he's violent, he's unstable, he's volatile, and he bears grudges, and well.... Steve is not required to endanger Bucky for Tony's sake.

(I have a post somewhere about the actual long-term consequences if Tony had actually killed Bucky... but that's a subject for another day....)

Even if Steve did know though, saying that event caused the Snap is absurd. I mean utterly and completely ludicrious, and with no foundation at all.

Steve gave Tony a phone and *everybody* was telling him to make that call. He didn't have to forgive or even like Steve to make that call: but the world was at stake and when the stakes are so high decent humans will put their own arguments and resentment to one side to do what is right for the sake of others. They could fight together against Thanos and then go their seperate ways afterwards and never see each other again if that was what they wanted.

...but no, Tony chose not to make that call. Tony chose not to turn his ship around. Tony chose to try and solo Thanos, but despite the fact he did that of his own free will, suddenly its all somebody else's fault.

Because Tony blamed Steve on the basis of something he said when he discovered Tony had secretly made a murderbot, that means its his fault. Tony Stark cannot be held responsible for his actions.

Tony Stark cannot be blamed for his role in breaking up his team, or refusing to make that call. Tony Stark can do no wrong. Everything is always somebody else's fault. Never Tony Starks' fault.

That whole idea is just ridiculous. As though Tony Stark has no agency of his own. As though he cannot make his own choices or descisions- even if those choices are bad ones.

Honestly, this is why Stark fans are so annoying. They cannot accept the idea tha Tony can be wrong or capable of wrongdoing. They cannot bear the idea of him being responsible for his actions. Yet they still want to tell you he's a flawed and developed character- which is silly.

What they're describing is a Gary Stu. A character who can do no wrong cannot be flawed by definition.

And no it's not fair for any parent to have to lose their child, but then that leads to the story being one person getting what they want or devastating consequences for millions of others

The thing is, Clint already did lose his kids. All 3 of them. Queen Ramonda also lost both her kids, and neither of them could "just have more kids" because... well biological reasons and humans to not work that way.

You are right though: Tony Stark getting what he wants - to keep his personal paradise at the expense of HALF OF THE UNIVERSE including the children of his supposed friends if needs be does not make him look sympathetic.

One claim I often see Tony fans making is that Steve was being selfish for not "considering children born during the Snap" in the team's desire to bring everybody back.

This is obviously a form of emotional blackmail After all- how could *anybody* want to erase *billions* of children?

Well, this claim is wrong for a number of reasons

1: There is no evidence of large-scale births or an increasing birth rate during the Snap. Tony fans often say that there must have been millions and milions of children born during the Snap, but this makes no sense because, as a general rule humans do not simply "get over" losing their entire family an "move on".

Even losing one child can be an emotional blow that person never recovers from. Clint Barton lost all 3 of his children, and we know he did not simply "move on" and start a new family.

People do not simply recover from such things in a few years and create new families. It almost never happens.

Furthermore, population dynamics come to play: some planets lost as much as 3/4 of their population due to Thanos pre-Snap genocides.

Even for those who lost "only" half though this would mean half of all birthing females and existing children snapped.

Fewer birthing females means..... a lower birth rate. Also take account of things like infertility and the fact that some women who lost thier children would have been beyond childbearing age: notable case - Queen Ramonda.

Even assuming people were interested in relationships and reproduction (and most were not) the birth rate during the Snap would have been expontentially lower then it was before.

Real life disasters and catastrophes also reveal that it takes a long time for the population to recover. The Black Death killed 1/3 to 1/2 of the population of Europe in the Middle Ages- and it took something along the lines of 3 to 4 centuries for the population to reach the level that it had been before the plague struck.

Literally: it can take HUNDREDS of years for the population to recover. The idea that the world would have returned to normal after only 5 years is ludicrous.

2: The children killed by the Snap.

Half of the human race were snapped. This would have included children. Potentially hundeds of millions of children were killed by the Snap. This is far more than the number who who have been born during the Snap.

There's another issue however: many children would have died after the Snap.

Sick children whose parents or doctors were snapped and were unable to get the medical treatment they needed

Young children whose parents were snapped would have died within a few days if nobody found them.

Children in poorer countries would have been the first to succumb to things like famines and food shortages caused by the Snap.

However, children in rich countries would have followed. Food shortages and the breakdown of intractructure would have caused problems witht the availability of food and medical supplies. Diseases would have become more common without the medicines to keep them in check, and poor sanitation.

In other words, potentiallly hundreds of millions more children would have died after the Snap in addition to those who had been Snappped.

None of those children would have been bought back by Bruce's Snap in Endgame. They would have stayed dead. All because of Tony's selfish insistence that he "didn't change anything from the last 5 years".

So, no matter how Tony fans want to try and twist things: Tony Stark was quite prepared to sacrifice *hundreds of millions* if not billions of children for the sake of his desire to preserve his personal paradise.

He did not, in fact, "save everybody" at all. He saved only those bought back after the Snap and ... not really even them as they had to contend with years of social and economic problems.

You know what the most interesting irony of it all is though? Tony fucked over all those people for nothing. Pepper was already pregnant before the Snap, so reversing it would not have erased Morgan anyway.

I think the thing I really love about Desert Duo is the warmth between them.

The way they banter and poke and prod at each other but always with an undercurrent of fondness. Scar teases about Grian's secret soulmate, Grian huffs that his heart is for someone special, Scar whispers with Pearl about ideas to mess with their soulmates, Grian mutters about leaving the desert all season. They both stay. They both giggle together and quickly drop any faux hurt.

The way they play each other. Scar coaxes Grian into doing work for him, Grian snatches a life away from Scar, Scar practically robs Grian blind through 'fair trade', Scar stabs Grian in the back in Thirdlife, Grian stabs Scar in the back in Limited Life. It's all in good fun. They sigh and roll their eyes and smile.

The way they gravitate towards each other. Easily partnering in Thirdlife, dancing around an alliance in both Last Life and Limited Life, being paired by the universe in Double Life, trying to reach for each other only to be torn apart by the universe in Secret Life. They meld easily together, like whispered plans and a presence beside each other is the most natural thing in the world.

The way they understand each other. "You and me, we know monopolies" Scar says, and Grian smiles. "Why DON'T you come along with me?" Grian giggles, and Scar can breathe for the first time all session.

I think it’s interesting how as time goes on Zoro kind of becomes more and more like mihawk in some ways whether that’s just because if you spend time with someone for 2 years you’re bound to pick up their habits or a deliberate attempt to emulate him is a conversation for another time. And Mihawk and Zoro where already pretty similar at the start so it’s a little hard to notice now.

But yeah whether unconsciously or consciously Zoro is becoming a bit more like Mihawk and it’s interesting to think that while this means maturing in some ways (he’s swordsmanship for one but he’s also just quieter much more assured of himself) it also means deaging in some others.

Despite their significant age gap and general dispositions, when it comes down to it Zoro is just a lot more emotionally mature and developed than Mihawk is. And a big part of why is because he found something larger than himself to devote his life too, hell Mihawk himself even kind of acknowledges this when he agrees to take Zoro on as a student when Zoro begs for the sake of his captain and crew. He acknowledges that putting aside his own ego and dreams for the sake of someone else isn’t something he can do and sees it as a fault in himself and a strength in Zoro.

Mihawk may be outwardly mature and his skills defiently did not stagnant but I’d wager that Mentally Mihawk is still stuck at the same age he was when he took over the title of world’s strongest swordsman. Honestly maybe even younger. And it isn’t until training Zoro, letting Perona stay with him, for probably the first time in his life taking charge of lives outside his own did he finally unarrest his development.

If Zoro is purposely trying to emulate Hawkeyes, which it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was that’s who he’s trying to be Afterall, then it would honestly set him back emotionally because fundamentally as he is now Mihawk’s attitude doesn’t work in a crew. It’s too singular, too abrasive. And while that abrasiveness can be useful in Zoro’s role as Luffy’s first mate sometimes it makes him a little too callous a little too apathetic, like with his disregard for Luffy’s sadness over vegapunk.

But Zoro has his crew to temper that, they are honestly just too ridiculous to ever stay serious around. And try as he might to hide it Zoro is also just a silly dude who likes to be horrifically petty with his opponents. And zoro still has so much fire in him, so much he has too prove and so much he wants to protect to ever really fall into Mihawk’s apathy. Zoro has Luffy who even after they reach their dreams will probably still continue to turn the world upside down forever keeping Zoro in some kind of trouble and his life interesting.

Zoro can’t be Mihawk because even Mihawk can’t be Mihawk anymore. Being with crossguild and crossing with the Red hair pirates and the strawhats is going to change him, it has too. if Mihawk is going to live after losing his title he’s probably gonna have to become a little bit more like Zoro.

ok so now I'm thinking about clown Texas Chainsaw Massacre....

I always already saw Chop Top as a silly rodeo clown - during the very end of the radio station scene especially he puts on L.G.'s cowboy hat and scurries off, honking his bike horn. CLOWN BEHAVIOR

Bubba is the big comedy clown with like pants way too big, wearing suspenders to keep them up. to make fun of the fact he's already so damn large, and he's somehow wearing even bigger clothes. he wears a painted mask. very clumsy. and obviously quiet, so pantomiming. (basically what he does anyway)

So, Drayton is just a grumpy clown, but if I had to visualize his style, I might go for the "hobo clown" archetype? Not that i think he specifically fits that bc he's not the type to be a "tramp", but I see the suit outfit and his demeanor fitting the performance style. could maybe see the fact that he's a salesman playing a part there at least too.

Nubbins is the jokester. He's intentionally playing pranks on Drayton or getting Bubba into trouble, and he has a good laugh. Chop Top also falls into this role, but he's more cowboy than his brother.

The family members easily work off of each other - they already annoy each other or are stupid. like cmon it's SO cartoonish and clowny that Drayton just fuckin kicks Bubba in the butt already in tcm 2. That is like.... peak.

so it's easy to imagine like, uh oh whoops Nubbins tricks Bubba into accidentally pie-ing Drayton in the face and now mister grumpy clown is gonna initiate some slapstick, but Chop Top's being a little shit and tattles while laughing and now the twins are both in for it.

... It's all a very less abusive way of seeing their dynamics and I think that's much nicer lol.

I guess they'd still eat people tho, like they aren't all nice. But hey.

Should I be allowed to include Sims 2 Store/preorder/exchange content in Calcinidae Bay

There are several reasons why I'm keeping Calcinidae Bay CC-free but first and foremost it's to see "how far can I get with only TS2 Maxis content?" and so there's always this nagging voice in the back of my head saying "but this is TS2 Maxis content".

Lots that I share will remain CC-free, and I'm not including Stories conversions. Only things made by EA, for TS2.

i feel like the original series was red guy centered, the first season was for yellow guy, and i am BEGGING AND PRAYING that season 2 will be more about duck!! i will probably cry if anything happens to him though lol 💀 everytime writers break a comic relief character i just OUGSHGS.. it gets me.

h well I don't think you're wrong about that! Webseries being Red Guys time to shine, S1 of the TV show being for Yellow (esp the last two episodes I think? Even thought outside of that, he does get a lot of focus/he IS the one who talks to the audience the most directly). From what I remember hearing, the pilot was pretty Duck-centered.

But I think even if he GETS his big moment in the sun, so to speak, it's NOT going to be as emotional as the other twos. On top of him just not being a very um… let's say sentimental character, he's just not the make-you-cry type! It's just not him imo!

IDK, I operate under the opinion that… in his weird little head, the most important thing that he values over everything is keeping the three of them together. Both because he thinks of them as a weird little family AND because he really doesn't have anyone else outside of the trio. We also know from the interview, and you could maybe argue from the Family episode ( Who do you love?/Anyone who loves me back., I asked every member of my family who they loved the most, and they all said me ) that being loved is something that he actually values QUITE a bit! More than you would assume on first glance! He's weirdly upfront about it haha!

In that way, I imagine that if they were to TRY to pull something to put him in the spotlight in the way you're imagining (i.e. something emotional and focusing on his issues like they did with Yellow & Red) it would either focus on his desire to be loved OR his dedication to keeping the three of them together. But I would argue they both already did that in the Family episode AND put him through the worst case-scenario in regards to those more emotional aspects of his character ( here I think the worst case scenario to him is the other two rejecting him, harshly, unambiguously and to his face, multiple times and the three of them separating ). AND THE THING IS… THAT ALREADY HAPPENED! THAT DIDN'T BREAK HIM!

He had his little pout over it in his dress and was like FINE! I DON'T NEED THEM ANYWAYS! So, I really don't think that big "character-breaking" moment is coming. If the Family ep didn't get him I honest to God don't think there's anything else the house could throw at him that could get under his skin.
