“Fog?” Franky leans over the Sunny’s rail “That wasn’t on the forecast.”
Brook’s skull clicks “Yohoho, it feels… cold. Not weather cold. Soul cold.”
Robin closes her book “We’ve entered the Mirage Belt.”
Zoro squints “That supposed to mean something?”
“It’s said an island appears and disappears here. Controlled by a woman with strange powers.” Robin’s voice is calm, almost amused “She doesn’t leave witnesses.”
Nami frowns “If she’s real, she’s hiding from the World Government. That takes serious power.”
“Not just power,” Robin says “Intellect.”
Sanji claps his hands “And beauty, I hope?”
Robin glances at him “Yeah but these are just rumors.”
“Ooooh, I'm readyyyy” Sanji asks.
The mist thickens and then you arrive.
You don’t stride out of the fog like a villain. You simply appear, like you were always there, watching. You’re dressed in black, clean, minimal, tailored. Not flashy. Just… right. Eyes calm.
Luffy perks up “Hey! Someone’s here!”
You smile faintly “Didn’t expect to see you, Straw Hats.”
Your voice is smooth, quiet but it carries.
Zoro’s hand drifts to his sword “You the Mirage woman?”
You tilt your head “Depends who’s asking, so yes.”
Robin’s eyes meet yours.
Something sharp and unreadable passes between you. You feel it.
Recognition. From neither of you but of each other.
“Interesting...” you murmur.
Sanji steps forward, roses in his eyes “Mademoiselle, if I could just—”
You raise a single finger.
“I’m not interested in men” you say. Calm. Polite. Sharp.
He freezes mid-swoon.
Robin hides a smirk behind her hand.
“You knew we were coming” Nami accuses.
“I saw your ship half an hour ago,” you say “I gave you time.”
“For what?” Jinbe asks.
“For a choice.”
Brook tilts his head “Choice?”
You step forward. The fog curls at your feet like it knows you.
“I can offer you something,” you say, walking past each of them “Not pain. Not violence.”
Luffy tilts his head “Then what?”
You stop in front of him. Your hand rises not to strike, just to hover.
“Memory” you say.
Luffy blinks. Then, softly he sees Ace.
Usopp gasps as a warm breeze hits him, his mother’s voice, humming.
Brook clutches his chest as a young Laboon bumps against the side of a ship, smiling.
Even Zoro's gaze softens as he hears metal on wood, Kuina’s laugh, distant and small.
Each of them sinks into silence, faces softened with something close to peace.
Everyone... except Robin.
She’s still watching you.
You look at her “Nothing you want to see?”
She smiles slightly “Oh, there’s plenty I’d like to see.”
She steps forward too close. Testing.
“But I don’t trust people who offer gifts without cost.”
You grin “Good. Because while they dream…”
Behind you, your crew moves silently.
Swords vanish. Bags of coin slide from belts. Even Nami’s Clima-Tact disappears into a misty hand.
Robin’s eyes flick briefly to the movement. She sees it all but she doesn’t stop you.
She wants to see what happens next.
You step close enough to brush your fingers against her sleeve. Not touching skin... yet.
“Why didn’t you stop me?” you whisper.
Her eyes meet yours.
“I haven’t decided what I want from you yet.”
The Strawhats are still caught in soft illusions, gentle memories, warm ghosts.
Your crew is moving efficiently in the fog, like shadows.
You hardly need to oversee it. You’ve done this dozens of times.
But now, your focus is… elsewhere.
Robin stands perfectly still, arms crossed lightly. Her eyes are on you. Calm. Unblinking. Studying.
You break the silence first “You’re not like the others.”
She tilts her head “Is that a line you use often?”
You smile “Only when it’s true.”
She walks closer but not slowly, not dramatically, just… deliberately. Like she already knows where this is going.
“You offer people what they miss most,” she says “That’s clever. It’s not just illusion — it’s comfort. That’s harder to resist.”
“And yet,” you say, “here you are. Not falling for it.”
Robin’s lips curve “Oh, I fall for things. Just not cheap tricks.”
You raise an eyebrow “You think what I do is cheap?”
“Not cheap,” she says, stepping into your space “Just… predictable.”
The fog stirs. You stare at her. She doesn’t flinch.
You’ve made admirals flinch.
Your voice lowers “You’re provoking me.”
“Not yet” she says.
Then a flower sprouts from the mist behind you. Small. White. Delicate. An illusion, but not yours.
You turn your head just slightly, caught off guard.
Then another one appears. Then ten. They curl around your feet, up your arms, blooming from nothing but when you reach out to dispel them, they don’t vanish.
Because they’re not made of memory.
They’re made of you.
You turn back to Robin, a flicker of alarm under your calm expression.
“What did you do?”
She’s smiling now. Not cruelly. Just… enjoying herself.
“You’re not the only one who studies minds.”
Your illusions fade slightly and the Strawhats stir, groggy. But you barely notice.
You’re still watching her.
“You read me.”
“I listened,” she says “You touch others to see their minds. I never needed to.”
You exhale, a laugh that’s half disbelief, half… something else.
“I should be furious.”
Robin leans in “But you’re intrigued.”
And you are. For the first time in years.
Someone didn’t just see through your trick. She twisted it. Used your own threads. Turned it into something beautiful.
You smirk, genuinely “You’re dangerous.”
Robin’s smile deepens “I’m flattered.”
The fog begins to fade.
One by one, the Strawhats blink out of their illusions confused, and missing… everything.
Zoro reaches for his swords “What the—?!”
Nami checks her pouch “My money’s gone?!”
Usopp stumbles forward “Wait, what just happened—was that my mom?!”
Luffy blinks slowly “Ace was here. I swear.”
You don’t look back.
You’re already turning away, coat fluttering slightly behind you, voice calm “You can stay the night. The island’s safe for now. You’ll leave in the morning.”
Your crew, tucked into the mist, understands without a word. The heist is done.
You don’t explain yourself. You don’t apologize.
You never do.
But as you step off the stone path, the only sound that follows you is her voice.
Robin. Low. Smooth. Unhurried.
“You forgot something.”
You stop.
Just once you let yourself hesitate.
She walks toward you, hands clasped behind her back, eyes steady.
“You’ve got our maps,” she says “And our gold.”
You glance back over your shoulder “You want it all back?”
She stops a few steps away “Not all. Just what matters.”
Behind her, Nami crosses her arms, clearly fuming “It all matters.”
You look Robin in the eye and smile “I’m letting you stay the night. I’m letting you leave alive.”
Then, softer and slower “I think I’ll keep that small treasure you had.”
Robin’s expression doesn’t change but her eyes narrow just a touch. Like she caught the double meaning. Like she knows what you’re referring to.
She tilts her head “Then give us back our weapons.”
You pause.
Then reach into your coat.
One by one, you pull out Zoro’s swords, Usopp’s tools, Nami’s Clima-Tact, even Brook’s cane, returning them silently.
Franky hugs his wrench like a long-lost child. Jinbe just nods, quietly respectful.
You walk to Robin last.
No weapon.
Just a smooth, black book you hadn’t shown the others.
You hold it out, resting it on your palm.
Robin doesn’t take it immediately “You read it?”
“No,” you say “But I wanted to.”
She finally takes it, fingertips brushing yours. Just barely.
You turn away again slower this time.
Not because you’re being dramatic but because for once, you’re not sure if you want her to stop you again. This time, she doesn’t. She just watches. But you feel her gaze long after you disappear into the mist.
The sun starts to dip. Gold light spills across the trees, the fog finally pulling back like it knows its job is done.
The Strawhats are camped near the edge of the island, makeshift fire burning low, everyone quiet and tired, half trying to figure out what happened, half trying not to admit how peaceful it felt.
And then you return with baskets.
Piled high. Food from the island. Bottles of strange wine. Bread still warm. Sliced fruit arranged in clean spirals like a gift.
Everyone looks up as your silhouette steps out from the trees.
“Okay,” you say dryly, setting a basket down near the fire, “after years of being untouchable and bored out of my mind, I finally find someone funny enough to play me in mind games.”
Your eyes flick briefly to Robin.
She’s the only one who doesn’t look surprised.
You sit cross-legged near the fire like you belong there. Like you’re one of them.
“I could’ve let you leave without another word. But,” you say, opening the first basket with a dramatic flourish, “here I am.”
Nobody moves.
Then:
Chopper whispers, “Did you poison it?”
You blink “I didn’t.”
Sanji instantly sets down the cup he was reaching for and drops to one knee in front of you.
“Mademoiselle, you are stunning, generous, mysterious, a goddess of war and grace—”
You cut in, deadpan “Still not interested in men.”
He collapses in exaggerated heartbreak.
Robin, across the fire, picks up a piece of fruit and inspects it.
Then, quietly, she takes a bite. One by one, the others follow.
Usopp sighs in relief “Okay thank god it’s not poison.”
Luffy’s already devouring everything he can reach “You should steal from us more often if you’re gonna feed us like this!”
Zoro takes a swig of wine “Not bad for someone who robbed us blind.”
Nami mutters “Still mad about the gold.”
You smirk “I told you. I kept something small.”
Nami glares. Robin sips her wine, not reacting.
But when you glance at her she’s watching you again. Calm. Still. Amused.
You tilt your head slightly and she raises one brow.
The food is mostly gone.
The wine is half-finished.
Sanji is asleep with his head on the table. Luffy is snoring in the grass. Zoro’s leaning against a tree with his eyes closed, but his hand still rests near his sword. Old habits.
You sit at the edge of the firelight, cup in hand, relaxed.
Too relaxed.
Chopper’s the first to break the silence.
“So… why do you do it?” he asks, blinking sleepily “The illusions. The stealing. All of it.”
You swirl the wine in your cup, eyes flicking to the stars.
“Because people are easiest to rob when they’re busy crying over ghosts” you say.
It’s honest.
They blink at the answer.
“Damn” Usopp says.
Franky nods, more impressed than offended “That’s… cold. Cool. But cold.”
“Not wrong” Jinbe says quietly.
Nami glares “And you chose to take my treasure?”
You grin “It sparkled the prettiest.”
She grumbles. Robin just watches. Not smiling. Not judging. Just… watching.
Then Robin speaks “What was your first memory?”
You pause.
The fire crackles.
“That’s not how this works” you say.
“It is now” she replies.
You consider lying.
You really do.
But the wine makes your voice a little looser than usual.
“A small dock” you say “Storm rolling in. My mother… pushing my boat away from shore. Telling me to never come back.”
Silence.
Even Luffy stirs, his expression softening in his sleep.
Chopper murmurs, “Did you ever see her again?”
You don’t answer.
Usopp starts to say something else, but you raise a hand calm, final.
“That’s enough.”
Your voice is smooth. Not angry. But colder now. Controlled again.
You stand.
“I think it’s late,” you say “You’ve had your food. Your drinks. And, apparently, your questions.”
You glance at each of them, calm, charming, but just detached enough to pull back behind your wall again.
“If there’s a next time,” you say softly, “I won’t let you leave this island so easily.”
Everyone quiets.
You turn to go.
Then pause.
You glance back, just once, eyes meeting Robin’s. She doesn’t look surprised.
You want to say something... maybe more, maybe less... but instead you just nod once, turn, and walk into the shadows between the trees.
You don’t know she’s following.
Not yet.
Tumblr media
The night is quiet once you step into the forest again.
You walk slowly, alone, letting the wine hum in your blood. The island’s trees sway gently. The path is familiar... this is your home, or close enough.
You’re good at silence.
You’ve mastered it.
So when you hear the barely-there crunch of a step behind you, your first instinct is to disappear into the trees. Lose them. Hide.
But you don’t. Not this time.
Because you know who it is.
You don’t turn. Just speak softly, eyes on the moonlit path ahead.
“You’re not here to ask more questions.”
“No,” Robin says, her voice just above a whisper “I’m not.”
You finally stop walking.
She steps into view beside you, not close enough to touch but close enough to feel.
She looks calm. Not curious. Not scheming. Just… present.
For a moment, neither of you speak.
The wind moves the leaves. The air is thick with that soft wine-soaked quiet only found in the middle of nowhere, at the edge of something.
“You could’ve stayed with the others” you murmur.
“I could’ve,” she says “But you left.”
“And?”
She meets your gaze “And I wasn’t finished watching you.”
That makes something flicker in your chest.
It’s not desire, not quite, it’s something smaller. Older. Recognition.
You glance away, then back “I’m not very exciting when I’m not stealing from people.”
“Not true,” she says “You’re even more interesting when you’re pretending not to feel anything.”
Your lips curve.
It’s not quite a smile. But it’s close.
“You always follow people you’re drawn to?”
“Only the dangerous ones.”
You chuckle quietly “That explains the Strawhats.”
You walk a little further. She walks beside you.
Neither of you try to make more out of it than it is.
No flirting. No questions. No mind games.
Just this. Quiet steps in the dark. Two women who see too much in everyone else and maybe, finally, found someone they don’t have to.
The door creaks open under your hand.
You don’t look back to check if she’s still there. You already know she is.
Your house is tucked into the cliffs above the jungle wide, old, and built like a fortress. It’s full of echoes, shadows, and everything you’ve taken from the world. Gold, maps, weaponry, stolen books and silks and tools from across the sea.
And yet tonight, with Robin behind you, it feels strangely… small.
You don’t turn on the lights. You don’t need to.
You walk through the halls, your crew scattered asleep in different rooms, too full of wine and food to notice anything. Heavy snores echo faintly down a hallway.
Robin doesn’t speak. Her footsteps are light.
You push open your own door, step inside, and leave it open behind you.
The room is large, quiet. Clean, but lived-in. Papers on the desk. A map half-unrolled. A mirror cracked down one side.
And the balcony doors wide open, letting in the night.
You cross to the balcony without a word and sit on the bench that curves under the rail.
She follows... Of course she does.
You both sit there in silence, the ocean wind brushing your hair back, stars scattered above the black sea.
You try not to look at her but you fail.
She sits like she belongs there. Like this isn’t strange at all. Like she’s sat on dozens of balconies with people like you.
Then you clear your throat.
Awkwardly.
“So,” you say, “is that Sanji man always like that with women?”
Robin turns her head slowly. Her lips curve, barely “Are you really asking about Sanji right now?”
You pause, then sigh “No.”
She watches you. Not with judgment. Just patience.
You stare out into the sea and force a dry laugh.
“I don’t usually let people in… hell, I usually don’t even let them leave this island so easily.”
Robin doesn’t interrupt.
You look at her. Finally. Just for a moment.
“But you don’t seem like you want something here.”
“No,” she says softly “I just followed.”
That silence stretches.
Your voice is quieter now “I don’t know what to do with that.”
Robin leans back against the stone rail, arms folded loosely, eyes on you.
“You don’t have to do anything.”
You blink at her.
And for the first time in a long time, you don’t have a clever reply. You don’t flirt. You don’t run.
You just sit there, next to her, in a night full of wind and quiet and stars.
The air cools as the night deepens.
You and Robin are still on the balcony. You don’t know how long it’s been. An hour? More?
Neither of you have moved much.
You’re not tired. Not really. But the silence between you has shifted. It’s not awkward. It’s not heavy. It’s just close.
At some point, you curl your legs up beneath you. Robin mirrors it.
She doesn’t ask more questions. She doesn’t need to. But her eyes are on you. And that alone feels like being seen.
You exhale, arms folded on your knees.
“You didn’t ask me anything,” you say softly “Back in the jungle.”
Robin’s gaze flicks to yours “No.”
“Why?”
She tilts her head slightly “Because I know what it’s like to guard yourself. And I know how it feels when someone tears that apart.”
That hits too deep. You look away.
Your voice is quiet “You’re the first one who didn’t.”
Robin shifts closer, just a little.
“You say you don’t want people here,” she murmurs, “but you keep bringing me in.”
The words settle between you.
And then… you laugh. Soft, quiet, real.
“I didn’t mean to.”
“I know.”
Your hands rest between you on the bench. Not touching.
But not far.
Robin looks at them for a second. Then slowly, gently, she reaches over but not to take your hand, but to brush her fingers against the edge of yours.
You don’t pull away.
You let her.
She doesn’t try to go further. Doesn’t take more.
Just that one, light contact.
As if to say: I’m here. I’m not taking. I’m waiting.
You turn your head. Your faces are close now.
Too close for pretending you’re unaffected. Not close enough to close the space entirely.
And then she says quietly, almost a breath “I don’t want anything from you. Not unless you give it.”
That breaks something small and sharp inside you.
And without thinking, without permission, you whisper “Stay.”
Robin doesn’t blink. She just answers, simply “I will.”
You don’t kiss. Not yet.
But when you stand, and walk back inside, she follows you and when you lie down, fully clothed, on the wide bed beside the open window, she lies down beside you.
Not touching, but really close.
You fall asleep to the sound of her breathing, and the quietest peace you’ve felt in years.
Tumblr media
“CAPTAIN. SHE WASN’T HERE LAST NIGHT—”
“AN INTRUDER??”
“Captain, do we stab or shoot??”
You sigh, rub your temple “No stabbing. No shooting.”
“But she’s a Strawhat—!”
“She’s Robin” you say firmly.
That shuts most of them up.
The sniper squints “Captain… why is she here?”
Robin, amused, stays silent.
You shrug, casual “I’m just bringing her back to her crew.”
A pause.
You glance around as if you’re noticing it for the first time.
“Also, uhm… if the island looks different, don’t freak out.”
Robin tilts her head “Different?”
You avoid her gaze.
You’re lying so poorly it’s almost charming “Yeah, just— the island’s a little… connected to my mind. So… sometimes it changes. Depending.”
Your second-in-command mutters “It was full of thorns and fog yesterday.”
You give them a look.
They shut up.
Robin’s eyes flick across the trees, then back to you.
“Then you’re in a good mood” she says softly.
You make a face like you don’t understand what she means “I’m not not in a mood.”
She smirks.
Your crew looks increasingly nervous.
You start walking down the hill “C’mon. Let’s get you back before Sanji faints.”
Robin follows. Calm. Beautiful. Dangerous.
Your crew watches in stunned silence.
And one of them whispers “She’s gonna break the captain’s heart.”
Another mutters “Nah. Captain’s gonna break hers.”
But no one says it louder.
Because whatever’s happening between you and Robin is already beyond their understanding.
And they can all feel it blooming, just like the flowers under their feet.
Robin walks calmly into the Strawhats’ temporary camp with you beside her, quiet as ever.
You both step into view.
And instantly “ROBIN-CHWAAAN!!”
Sanji throws himself dramatically forward, almost tripping over Usopp in the process “YOU DISAPPEARED AND I THOUGHT I’D NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN—”
“She was gone” Chopper yells “We thought you were kidnapped!”
“I said she just wandered off” Zoro mutters, already bored.
“She’s with her...” Nami says, eyes narrowing at you before you can even open your mouth.
You raise a hand lazily “Relax. She wasn’t a prisoner.”
Sanji freezes in place.
Everyone else freezes too.
Usopp blinks “Wait. Why does that sound like a lie.”
Robin walks past them all without explaining a thing, just calmly brushing some invisible dust off her skirt “I wasn’t.”
“Did you drug her?” Sanji gasps, turning to you.
“I—what?” you blink “No!”
Chopper squints at you from behind Zoro’s leg “Her food wasn’t poisoned?”
You stare at him, deadpan “It was fresh fruit. From the island.”
“Suspicious” Nami mutters.
You shrug like it doesn’t matter, like Robin staying the night didn’t affect you at all.
(It absolutely did.)
Zoro’s eye shifts to you “Why are there flowers everywhere now?”
You start to reply, but Robin cuts in smoothly “The island reflects her emotional state.”
You freeze.
Everyone turns.
You slowly turn your head toward her “You weren’t supposed to say that out loud.”
Robin smiles. Just a little.
Sanji gasps again “Wait. Wait. You’re telling me the whole island was foggy and full of thorns—and now it’s a garden—because of feelings?”
You sigh “That’s not... it's not like that.”
“It’s exactly like that” Robin says.
She’s calm. Almost smug. But there’s something warm in her voice.
Usopp leans toward Nami “You think they…?”
“No” Nami says too quickly.
Then glances between you and Robin again.
“…Maybe.”
You rub the back of your neck “Alright. You’re all alive, nothing’s been stolen, you got a free dinner. Your weapons are intact—”
“AND our treasure isn’t” Nami snaps, pointing.
You glance at Robin.
She just lifts a brow.
With an exaggerated sigh, you reach into your coat and toss a pouch of coins toward Nami “Fine. That was me.”
Nami catches it without looking away from you.
Luffy grins, finally waking up behind them “Did you have fun Robin?”
You and Robin glance at each other.
Neither of you answer.
The Strawhats are almost ready to leave.
The Thousand Sunny is docked, glinting in the sun, and your crew stands nearby watching like hawks, still tense despite the peace.
You're relaxed. Almost smug.
Robin walks calmly up the ramp to the ship without looking back.
You wave lazily “See you soon!”
Half the Strawhats trip.
“HELL NO” Nami snaps, spinning to point at you from the deck “Next time I’m hiding every single coin. You won’t find anything!”
You grin “You think I didn’t let you hide it last time?”
Sanji clings to the railing dramatically “Give me a chaaaance! I can change! I can be whatever you want me to be—!”
“Still not interested in men” you call smoothly.
Chopper and Usopp huddle behind the mast, whispering in horror.
“She’s even creepier when she looks happy…”
“How does she even find us?”
You smirk and raise your voice just enough to reach them “My island reaches every point I want. The Mirage Belt is my mirage, after all.”
They all stare “...what does that mean—?”
“Wait, is she serious—?”
“IS SHE FOLLOWING US RIGHT NOW—?”
Robin finally turns at the top of the ramp and instead of saying anything, she just gives you a soft smile.
You don’t smile back but your expression shifts just a little.
Your crew notices. They're definitely going to talk about it later.
But for now, you simply stand there, watching as the Strawhats pull away from shore.
And Robin watches you back.
Until the sea swallows the distance.

Period Pains and Care
Summary: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Law, Killer, and Kid ranked by how they would handle themselves while you have your period. Implied established relationship♡
Warnings: none!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The worst actually. Not on purpose but Luffy's lack of awareness or self-restraint makes it difficult to appreciate his efforts. Not to mention he eats your snacks. You'd think with Nami and Robin on board he'd have some idea of what you're dealing with. Nope, you have to explain it again, it'll stick this time but it comes with another round of curious/invasive questions.
All your period comfort foods? Gone. The replacements? Also gone. You're lucky if there's a crumb of your favorite snack left over. Thankfully for everyone involved, his crew lends him a hand to make sure you're (eventually) satiated with alternatives and don't go on a murder spree during your cravings. On the flip side, Luffy abuses his power as Captain to have Sanji bring you both all the food when the kitchen is finally restocked. Good luck and bite him back if you have to!
His saving grace is using Gear 2 to cuddle and keep you warm. Giving you heated massages, foot and belly rubs until you're purring like a kitten. Unfortunately, he can only do the same thing for so long before growing bored. He needs a lot of intermittent breaks.
Has no tact, will ask you uncomfortable questions about your "thing going on" or your "comma" because he's so very curious and maybe also looking for ways to "fix you." Once he finds out about period poops, its over for you - there will be hourly check-ins. He'll make sure you're well stocked up on absorption products so there's that (also say thank you Nami, Robin and Franky)!
Tumblr media
Zoro is shockingly adaptable but I guess if you spend enough time with one girl for two years - and also live with 2 full time - you're gonna learn a thing or two about having a period. Also, surprisingly reliable at getting you what you need, so long as you don't mind 2 hours to 2 business days to get it. Look he's trying ok?!
Be careful with what you say though. If you joke about cutting your uterus out, he'll take you at face value and have his blades ready. No one is a better slice master than he! Why is Chopper having a heart attack? BRB gotta tend to the younger bro.
Is not phased by your bodily changes or anything you might perceive to be "gross." Bodies are natural and they're just doing what they're meant to do, and for what it's worth he's trying to say things that will make you feel better but they don't always land. This comes from a guy who showers maybe twice a week so take the compliments as you will. He means them with his whole heart!
Out of all the guys, he's the only one who will respect your craving habits in a supportive way. That's to say he'll give you everything you want, but he knows when to cut you off before you make yourself sick. He also has a (terrifying) gift of knowing when your body is flushing itself out and he'll be right at your side with a tampon or pad in his hand at the ready. "I'm very in sync with you."
Tumblr media
Ranks third because he's so fucking logical and doctorly. The kind of doctor that expects his medical advice and prognosis to outweigh your personal experience/feelings. Has Law ever experienced intense cramping and a headache while gushing a pint of blood and also pulled a full day's shift? No! "Doctoring" immediately invalid. Unless he gives you paid time off in which case his license is once again formally recognized.
On the OTHER hand, he will always have a colorful variety of options for you to take care of your personal business. He buys all biodegradable products, recyclable ones too! He also offers the best choices in birth control for you. Gynecology wasn't his specialty but taking care of his crew is so he studies and gets his license on the downlow.
Is VERY particular about his time spent and frankly, cuddling in bed isn't something he's entirely excited about. Sure he can do it with Bepo but that's like sleeping with a teddy bear you've had your whole life. Another person is different, especially one that needs his undivided attention and comfort. He'll give it and he won't complain about it, but he's not familiar with it and might be awkward at it for a time. Once he figures out what works best for you and let's himself relax around you, he's got the cuddling and rubbing your belly/lower back down to an exact science.
Questionable palate offerings when he first experiences your cravings. You had to teach him what's what when it comes to comfort eating and nutritional eating when you're in pain and your brain feels a bit scrambled from existing. Ikkaku had tried in the past to broaden the snack closet but it never stuck. With you, Law suddenly remembers to get things outside of his own personal preferences and comforts. It's comfort food for the BEPERIODED, LAW.
Tumblr media
It's entirely because he's a chef and a well-groomed cutie that he ranks this highly. Honestly it was neck and neck between him and Law. His resume in the kitchen makes you forget about his perviness and near-infantilization of you.
You'll never have a craving unsatisfied because Sanji will go to the ends of the Earth to curb your hunger. The One Piece and All Blue can wait, his darling needs a rich, velvety chocolate mousse two minutes ago! He absolutely spoils you which may lead to overstuffing you until you feel worse than how the cramps made you feel.
Sanji waits on you hand and foot during your period. Practically carries you from point A to point B if you so wish. It might get annoying after a while if you don't like a hot blonde popping in your face every 10 minutes to offer you something you knew you needed but didn't know you needed right that second and you're kind of annoyed that he got it before you could even vocalize your own needs! Does that happen to anyone else or...? If you're into that pampered lifestyle, Sanji is the guy for you.
He wasn't around women a lot but living with Robin and Nami he did learn about products used and comfort items sought out, which he gives you in abundance. Sanji's weakness - period boobies. The slight swell has him a blubbering mess and he will always try to sneak a peek. He may or may not be able to smell your pheromones - its unclear but he is definitely sniffing you from time to time.
Tumblr media
The clear winner out of the others its not even a joke. Is the trifecta of caring, supportive, and intuitive. The Period Manager™ everyone else should go back to their ship. No I am not biased.
Killer is the Chef of Carbo-loading but he knows his way around the kitchen and can make anything you desire at any given time. Desserts aren't his strongest suit but its the effort that makes it taste all the sweeter. You will never be without chocolate, praise be.
You've seen him so you know he knows muscles. Yours will become putty in his hands as he gently massages your aching body. With the help of low dose pain killers, Killer will slay your pain one sore muscle at a time.
Killer is so intuitive that he knows you have your period before you. Has your cubby on the bathroom countertop that includes: pads, tampons, flow-cup, aspirin, fuzzy socks, eye mask, and bottled juice. Your robe is hanging behind the door. He loves you so much.
Tumblr media
Haha bitch you though. Kid is the true winner. Killer was the favored winner but you might have forgotten this is me we're talking about and Kid has never done anything wrong in his life ever. I support all his rights and wrongs, and I cheerlead at every speck of effort he puts in.
Where everyone else had mentors or positive authority figures to bond with, Kid had Killer - and Killer tried his fucking best. But not even someone as amazing as Killer can be a single mom and raise a mentally stable, well functioning person in society in a corrupted, gang-ruled regime. HOWEVER - Killer did teach Kid how to treat his period-having partner during their woes and Kid's success is Killer's pride and joy.
Like Luffy, Kid will definitely swipe your snacks and food because he's a greedy, greedy glutton. Prove you can bark back at him to stand your ground and he'll yield to you with a scoff and a pout. He doesn't even LIKE your snacks, he claims🙄 He'll make sure you have enough to satisfy your craving and then have a month supply in the hull of the ship just in case. This is where he'll sneak a few for himself without your notice.
Being the King of Treating Himself, Kid will generously make you things to comfort you. A weighted, heat-controlled blanket; a vibrating teddy bear that hugs your belly; a snack organizer to keep your preferences nearby; a personal cold/hot water cooler; pretty things to make you smile; dirty things to excite you for when its over; the gifts are boundless. So are the period products that he basically just steals from the other women in the crew.
“Captain you better reimburse me for those heavy flow tampons!!”
“I’m busy Quincy. Go bitch to the piggy bank (Wire) about it!!!”
“KILLER STOP THAT MAN!”
In his line of work, he's used to nitty gritty and things better left to the imagination. Also a bit grimy himself on occasion. That said, nothing your body does will ever disgust him. He rolls with whatever you throw at him. Bloodied bedsheets? He'll gently toss you and the sheets in the tub. He'll help clean out your soiled clothes. Buy or steal whatever you need to ease your comfort. Embarrassed by the way you feel or look? He'll give you a reassuring kiss on the cheek and say, "Eh, I've seen/heard/smelled worse."

When the Mask Cracks
One piece x Fem!Reader
You were the strong one. That was your role. Not officially, of course — Luffy never assigned positions like that. But unofficially, in the unspoken spaces between laughter and battle, everyone knew: you were the one who didn’t bend.
You grinned in the face of chaos. You fought with a spark that scared even Zoro sometimes. You stitched up your own wounds with a shrug and told Chopper you were “all good, doc.” No one had ever seen you cry.
Until today.
It started like any normal day. A sunny island port, a cheerful crew disembarking for supplies and sightseeing, and you walking beside them with your usual swagger. Sanji offered you a drink. Luffy raced ahead. Nami warned him not to get into trouble, and Usopp was mid-monologue about some imaginary creature he swore he saw in the sky. The world felt… simple.
But it wasn't.
Not when you saw that.
A familiar merchant stall. A faded, raggedy blue plush rabbit. The exact one.
Same floppy ears. Same mismatched button eyes. It looked just like the one you used to clutch as a child. The one you buried in your arms the night your family was taken. The one you dropped as you ran, feet bloody and lungs burning, into the night — and never saw again.
You froze mid-step. The crew kept walking. Laughing.
And then the crack in your armor came quick, violent — like glass shattering under pressure. Your breath hitched. Eyes widened. Hands trembled before you even realized you were reaching for it. Your fingers brushed the fur, and something inside you snapped.
A sob burst from your chest, raw and guttural.
You dropped to your knees.
Zoro was the first to hear. His head turned like a hawk’s, eyes narrowing. That sound wasn’t one he’d ever heard from you — or expected to. He sprinted back without a word, sword at the ready… until he saw you kneeling in front of the toy, tears streaming down your face, completely broken.
The sword lowered. His guard didn’t.
Sanji skidded to a halt right after, panic instantly flaring. “Oi—hey, hey, what’s wrong? What the hell—who hurt you?!” His voice cracked at the end. He’d flirted with you a thousand times but never seen you so much as frown. Now you looked like the whole world had just ended. He crouched down slowly, like approaching a wounded animal. “Talk to me, sweetheart…”
Nami arrived next. And unlike the others, she didn't speak at first. She just looked. Looked at the plush. Looked at you. Her expression shifted from confusion, to realization, to gentle sorrow. She crouched too, putting a hand carefully on your back. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “You don’t have to explain.”
Usopp froze. “...She’s crying?” he whispered, stunned. “No way. That’s—she doesn’t do that.” He looked to Chopper, whose eyes were already glossy.
“Yeah,” the little doctor murmured, “but everyone does. Eventually.”
Robin stayed back at first. Watching. Understanding. “Even the strongest trees can crack in a storm,” she said softly. “Especially if they’ve stood alone for too long.”
Franky pulled his sunglasses off. “Damn,” he muttered, voice low. “She’s never looked so small.” He hated it. Hated seeing his crewmate like that. But he didn’t look away.
Brook knelt beside you with eerie grace, resting a bony hand near yours. “Would you… like me to play something soft?” he asked. “Sometimes, music can catch tears when nothing else can.”
And then came Luffy.
He didn’t say anything at first. Just walked right up, crouched in front of you, and mirrored your posture.
You hiccuped a sob. Still clinging to the stuffed rabbit like a lifeline. “I’m sorry,” you choked out. “I don’t—I don’t know why I—”
But Luffy shook his head. “You don’t have to say sorry.”
You blinked at him. And saw, in his eyes, no confusion. No pity. Only understanding.
“I cry too,” he said simply. “When it hurts.”
And with that, he reached out — and pulled you into a tight, grounding hug. No one said a word.
The strongest one had cracked.
And instead of falling apart—
She was held.
The plush rabbit was still cradled in your arms, soft and familiar in a way that made your chest hurt.
The vendor stood frozen behind the stall, a middle-aged man with a sun-wrinkled face and stunned eyes. He looked like he’d just seen a ghost — or a miracle — as he watched you cry into something so small and frayed that most people would’ve passed it by without a glance.
Then—
Clink. A small pouch of beli hit the counter.
Nami stood there with a look that dared the man to argue, hand on her hip, the other tossing the coin bag like it weighed nothing.
“For the rabbit,” she said, voice firm but not unkind.
The vendor blinked. “No—no, miss, please.” He raised both hands quickly. “I couldn’t possibly charge. Just—take it. It obviously means something. I—I found it in a box of old goods, wasn’t even sure why I put it out—” He cut himself off, eyes drifting back to you.
You still hadn’t let go.
You sniffled, trying to pull yourself together, but it was like your body hadn’t caught up to your brain yet. Tears were still slipping down your cheeks even though the wave had passed. Your shoulders trembled faintly under Luffy’s hands, and your throat burned with how hard you’d sobbed.
But you were here. Still here. And so was the rabbit.
You pulled back a little, enough to look down at the toy now nestled in your lap. Your fingers grazed its stitched belly. The fabric was older, sun-bleached in places, but it was the one. Or close enough that the universe clearly wasn’t being subtle.
You let out a ragged breath.
“…Stupid thing,” you mumbled, a shaky laugh in your voice. “Didn’t even think I’d recognize it.”
Zoro stood nearby, arms crossed, watching you with a quiet intensity. “Guess it remembered you first.”
Usopp nodded slowly. “It’s like one of those enchanted childhood objects, right? You imprint on it, and then—boom. Years later, you’re crying in the middle of a marketplace.”
Chopper elbowed him. “Now’s not the time, Usopp.”
You swiped your sleeve under your nose, awkward and clumsy. “Sorry,” you said again, even though Luffy had already told you not to be. “I didn’t mean to… freak everyone out.”
“Too late,” Sanji said gently, lighting a cigarette that trembled between his fingers. “I think I aged a decade.”
“Don’t apologize,” Robin added. “We’re your crew. If we can’t be here for you when you do break, then what are we even doing?”
You looked around — and really saw them this time.
The worry in their faces. The way Franky had stopped his pose halfway. Brook’s violin still slung under one arm. Chopper, half-waddled forward, clearly trying to hold himself back from tackling you in a hug.
And Nami.
Nami, who gave you a small smile and sat down next to you, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear as she plucked the bunny from your lap for a moment, checking it over.
“He’s seen better days,” she said.
You nodded. “So have I.”
She chuckled, handed him back. “Then you’re a good match.”
And for the first time in what felt like a long, long while — you smiled. Soft. Still watery. But real.
You held the bunny close to your chest again, more gently this time.
“…Thanks,” you murmured.
“To us?” Nami asked.
“To all of you. For not… looking away.”

I think it’s interesting how as time goes on Zoro kind of becomes more and more like mihawk in some ways whether that’s just because if you spend time with someone for 2 years you’re bound to pick up their habits or a deliberate attempt to emulate him is a conversation for another time. And Mihawk and Zoro where already pretty similar at the start so it’s a little hard to notice now.
But yeah whether unconsciously or consciously Zoro is becoming a bit more like Mihawk and it’s interesting to think that while this means maturing in some ways (he’s swordsmanship for one but he’s also just quieter much more assured of himself) it also means deaging in some others.
Despite their significant age gap and general dispositions, when it comes down to it Zoro is just a lot more emotionally mature and developed than Mihawk is. And a big part of why is because he found something larger than himself to devote his life too, hell Mihawk himself even kind of acknowledges this when he agrees to take Zoro on as a student when Zoro begs for the sake of his captain and crew. He acknowledges that putting aside his own ego and dreams for the sake of someone else isn’t something he can do and sees it as a fault in himself and a strength in Zoro.
Mihawk may be outwardly mature and his skills defiently did not stagnant but I’d wager that Mentally Mihawk is still stuck at the same age he was when he took over the title of world’s strongest swordsman. Honestly maybe even younger. And it isn’t until training Zoro, letting Perona stay with him, for probably the first time in his life taking charge of lives outside his own did he finally unarrest his development.
If Zoro is purposely trying to emulate Hawkeyes, which it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was that’s who he’s trying to be Afterall, then it would honestly set him back emotionally because fundamentally as he is now Mihawk’s attitude doesn’t work in a crew. It’s too singular, too abrasive. And while that abrasiveness can be useful in Zoro’s role as Luffy’s first mate sometimes it makes him a little too callous a little too apathetic, like with his disregard for Luffy’s sadness over vegapunk.
But Zoro has his crew to temper that, they are honestly just too ridiculous to ever stay serious around. And try as he might to hide it Zoro is also just a silly dude who likes to be horrifically petty with his opponents. And zoro still has so much fire in him, so much he has too prove and so much he wants to protect to ever really fall into Mihawk’s apathy. Zoro has Luffy who even after they reach their dreams will probably still continue to turn the world upside down forever keeping Zoro in some kind of trouble and his life interesting.
Zoro can’t be Mihawk because even Mihawk can’t be Mihawk anymore. Being with crossguild and crossing with the Red hair pirates and the strawhats is going to change him, it has too. if Mihawk is going to live after losing his title he’s probably gonna have to become a little bit more like Zoro.
#can you tell how much I like the phrase arrested development#mihawk is essentially mentally still a teenager and honestly that tracks#in psychology terms he never developed his super ego#everytime I write a long post I’m so scared that I didn’t make any point at all and it’s just a bunch of jumbled nonsense and half points#so I hope this made sense 😭#zoro and Mihawk are great they are so alike yet the little differences matter so much#don’t you just hate when people say Zoro has no character arc?#they aren’t even two sides of the same coin they are literally just Son learning from the mistakes of his father#I can’t lie before I really got into timeskip I also thought the changes in zoro was just Oda choosing to rewrite him diffenrtky more badas#I also missed the loud smiling and laughing zoro but the truth is that he’s still there#and maybe it is just Oda deciding to make Zoro cooler but it’s honestly so in line with who he already was and makes so much sense given#who he was training with that it still works as character development#zoro can still be loud and silly and maybe his digs are not said instead of screamed and maybe his smiles are a little meaner instead of#genuine and maybe he doesn’t laugh out loud anymore but honestly sometimes thats part of growing up#Zoro is the way he is so Luffy can be who he is that’s why they work. somebody’s got to take it seriously#somebody’s got to feel the weight of being an emperor’s crew. might as well be Zoro#one piece#throwing thoughts to the void#zoro appreciation post#dracule mihawk#hawkeye mihawk#roronoa zoro#zoro#character analysis#one piece meta#goth fam#goth family#one piece goth family#the strawhats#strawhat pirates

tbh i think oda meant to reach wano and make it all about zoro the same way he reached whole cake and made it all about sanji. I mean like, at the very beginning, back when he made him japanese and then said "there is a country that's one piece's japan, btw, and that's not where zoro's dojo is" - I think that's why his original backstory is so simple, it was supposed to follow the same trend as luffy's and sanji's and turn into this whole grand thing once they reached wano and discovered that he's the only direct descendant of one of the last daimyo and also of the greatest samurai ever lived, those are great bases to start some form of conflict on? tbh? and also directly mirror our finding out that sanji is some form of prince himself, but then instead we got to wano and the only thing we found out on page was that kuina's relatives were from there, and everything about zoro is revealed in a sbs family tree with oda going "I don't think I'll ever say this in the manga at this point so here". Imho what happened was that oda wanted to form some kind of conflict between zoro's family rights/what was expected of him in wano and his belonging in the crew, but then the way he evolved as a character through the story made it so that his only plausible reaction to finding out all that would be some form or another of I don't care and you don't really write an arc on that, do you. zoro's so simple minded and goal oriented that it's impossible for him to have any serious drama that's not about luffy, at this point. I do prefer it like this, though? everyone in the fandom likes to draw comparisons and parallels between zoro and sanji one way or another but my favourite one is the narrative foils one and zoro's lack of a proper backstory and complications to his being part of the crew make for a great black-and-white situation with them. something like sanji's story being all about running from his past and zoro's being all about running towards his future, I love that so I'm glad this is the zoro we got in the end
still, would be cool to know what oda had planned for him exactly

⛥゚・。 piña colada
synopsis: some women just can't take a hint... good thing Zoro's only got eyes for one girl.
cw: nsfw (oral: female receiving), this woman is really shameless, surprisingly tender Zoro, you two are so in love, kinda magical ngl, etc.
Tumblr media
"Hey, there," a woman—who was in the tiniest bikini known to man—hummed, tone low as she approached the lounge chair. "I don't think I've seen you on this island before."
'For fuck's sake...'
Annoyed, Zoro let a heavy sigh out from his nose, not even bothering to glance in the girl's direction as his sunglasses shaded his harsh side eye.
You'd think after seeing eight other women walk dejectedly away from his umbrella, the others would catch the hint?
"Not interested," he stated, curtly, hands firmly tucked behind his head as he looked out to sea.
The woman chuckled, softly, completely ignoring his comment and taking a seat in the sand.
She sat criss-crossed, dropping her hands in her lap and using her arms to slightly push her tits together, attempting to endearingly lean closer to your swordsman.
"Don't be so hasty," she sweetly smiled, taking his rudeness in stride. "Haven't even given me the chance to speak."
"Well, that's 'cause I really don't give a shit what you say otherwise," he sighed, shutting his eyes.
"I can name ten other men off the top of my head that would beg to differ," she countered, slyly.
"I'm not other men."
"You certainly aren't..."
'Walked right into that one.'
His brows flattened, and for a moment he wondered if this was a real person talking, slightly glancing around to see if he could find a camera crew of some sort.
Yet, to his surprise, there was none.
"I have a girlfriend," he dealt the finishing blow, delivering the final line that scared away all the other women from before.
He could finally get some peace and quiet.
"I don't see her here," the woman shrugged, simply, as if what he just said made no difference to her.
Zoro threw his head back with an irritated groan, wanting nothing more than to drop kick the woman away and go back to napping.
This was all Luffy and Usopp's fault.
The crew had been docked on a tropical summer island for a few days, and for all of them, you and Zoro had gone down to the beach together and lounged in the sun—tanning, napping, eating, and drinking in rotation.
But on that particular day, the boys had whisked you away to go explore some cove they found on the beach's edge, leaving your swordsman to fend off the wolves by himself.
And at first, it wasn't that bad.
The girls that approached were polite and had pure intentions, and actually respected his wishes when he said he was uninterested.
But numbers four through eight?
Hell, the woman sitting next to him?
Less so.
"Are you deaf or somethin'?" he asked, brows furrowed as he sat up, not appreciating her comment at all. "I already told you, I'm not interested. So get lost."
"Oh, c'mon," she rolled her eyes with a laugh. "There's no way you actually have a girlfriend. No girl in her right mind would leave her man alone on a beach like this, especially if he was as handsome as you."
"Maybe that's why she's my girlfriend and you're not," he scoffed, sarcastically.
Her brow twitched, the remark clearly striking a nerve as her posture suddenly straightened, her sickeningly sweet tone turning sour in a second.
"Well then, maybe your girlfriend can step up and we can see who's really the shit," she spat, standing from her spot in the sand. "Since she's so fuckin' great, let's see how she fares in a fight."
A smirk rose to the woman's lips, her hand coming to rest cockily on her hip.
"I might not look it, but I'm this island's martial arts champion... And I've yet to lose a fight. So let's see how she does with her face in the sand."
Zoro paused a moment, almost disbelieving, lifting up his sunglasses and taking a breath to see if the woman was serious.
She was.
Deadly serious, actually.
'HA!'
The man threw his head back in a burst of uproarious laughter, the sound causing the woman to jolt with surprise, and slight fear.
She'd never seen his expressions range anything past annoyance, so seeing him so amused seemed almost uncanny, especially since he was nearly howling with hilarity.
But he couldn't help himself.
You, the woman with a bounty over one billion?
You, the woman with the devil fruit of the personified spirit of death?
You, the woman who has fought literal monsters with her bare hands?
Lose to a random martial arts lady on a peaceful summer island?
It was almost too much.
The woman's brows furrowed, face warming at the mockery.
"The hell's so funny?!" she huffed with a childish pout.
Attempting to regain his composure, he wiped a tear from his eye, slightly clutching his stomach as his laughs died down.
"She'd fuckin' kill you," he chuckled, shoulders bobbing. "Like actually."
Furious, the woman broke into a long-winded tirade about why she would win... or how badly you would lose... or something along those lines.
If he was being honest, he zoned out the moment she started talking, something more interesting seeming to catch his eye.
You.
Like a dog with a bone, he watched, mesmerized, as you made your way over, hips looking ripe and tender for the grabbing.
'Goddamn...'
After days in the sun, you'd developed a delectably smooth tan, the sunscreen you had him apply earlier giving your skin an alluring shine.
Eyes scanning over your body, he took in the light (f/c) of your bikini, which had a few complimentary, (o/c) flowers decorating its corners, along with the waist beads resting lazily over your stomach, not to mention the gold anklets and bracelets that littered your ankles and wrists.
You looked good enough to eat—a thought he didn't mind indulging in later.
"Hey! Are you listening to me?" the woman continued pestering him, her hand coming up to rest on his bicep.
Huge mistake.
Faster than she could even see, Zoro grabbed her wrist, pulling her hand off and staring her down with a deadly glare, his patience long since run thin.
The woman froze, fear slowly creeping into her chest at the sharpness of his eyes.
He looked like he had half the mind to slit her throat right there.
"I'm only gonna tell you this one last time..." he warned, tone leaving no room for argument. "Get. Lost."
Roughly, he let go of her, and she quickly scrambled to her feet, scurrying back over to the safety of her friend's towel just as you arrived.
"Hey, Zo'!" you chirped, taking a seat on your swordsman's lap as you took a sip of your cocktail, which was in a cut-off coconut.
"Hey, pretty," he greeted with a smirk, placing a kiss on your neck. "Whatchu got there?"
"Some kinda coconut-rum drink," you answered, plucking the pineapple off the rim and taking a bite out of it. "The guy at the bar called it a Piña Colada."
Zoro nodded, "S'it any good?"
"Might be a bit too sweet for you," you shrugged, holding it out to him. "But try it."
Leaning forward, he sipped a bit from the straw, his nose scrunching slightly.
It was incredibly sweet.
"Yeah, I figured as much," you giggled, amused by his expression as you took it back. "By the way, who was that girl that went running away from here? She looked scared."
Slightly, you leaned over to glance at her, who was sitting not too far away, and raised a brow as she quickly turned around, terrified by your gaze.
'The hell?'
"Was she in trouble or somethin'?"
Zoro chuckled, knowingly, his hand sliding up your side to give your hip a lackadaisical squeeze.
"Nah," he shook his head, finally leaning back and allowing himself to relax in the chair. "Just needed help takin' a hint."
Tumblr media
"So... I miss anything while you were on your trip with Luffy?" Zoro asked with a smile, slowly gliding his oar through the sparkling ocean.
You lit up with excitement, suddenly reminded of the events of the day.
"I wish I dragged you along! You woulda loved it," you sighed, leaning back in your spot in the canoe. "Turns out this island isn't as peaceful as we thought. When we went to the edge of the beach, we found tons of monster-sized crabs and lobsters, all of them strong as hell."
You smirked, holding up your fist.
"Me an' Luffy made a game over who could beat the most, while Usopp kept count. And we ended up in a draw."
'Damn.'
That blew his day fighting off women right out the water.
He should've gone with you.
"What about you? Anything interesting happen while I was away?" you asked.
"Eh," he shrugged, moving his oar to the other side. "Nothin' worth mentioning. My day was honestly pretty boring."
But he was hoping to change that.
While you were gone, he found Nami and Robin on the beach, and managed to weave through theirs sea of admirers in order to ask some advice.
Things had been going really great between the two of you, and since you were always so good with surprising him with gifts and gestures, he wanted to try his hand at it.
Of course, he had no idea where to begin.
And while Nami was little to no help, spending most of the time talking his ear off about how brutish and hopeless he was, Robin recommended taking you out to the nearby cove for a romantic night.
So, after scrounging up his island allowance and buying some booze and a canoe, he swept you away, all of the day's tribulations fading to the back of his mind as he watched you sit down in his lap.
"Y'know, this is really sweet of you, Zoro," you smiled, your fingers carefully tracing the scar across his chest. "Makin' me feel all special..."
He nodded, eyes raking over your face with an almost analytical look.
God, you were so fuckin' pretty.
It was almost baffling.
If he wasn't in this canoe—
"Figured you deserved something nice," he cleared his throat, warding off the less than decent thoughts creeping into his head.
He couldn't keep the romance up if he was too busy thinking about jumping your bones.
But little did he know... you were thinking the same thing.
Shifting your position, you rested your knees on either side of him, smoothly moving to bury your face in his neck, placing firm, meaningful kisses on his flesh.
Instinctively, the man leaned into your touch, one of his hands coming up to steady you at the small of your back, while the other continued to paddle.
Gliding your manicured hands up his body, you rested them on his strong shoulders, using them for purchase as you continued to nip at him.
His chest rumbled with a deep hum at the feeling, relishing in the way your lips felt against his pulse point, sucking a hickey onto his skin.
Yet, just as it was getting good, you pulled away with a soft pop, moving to obscure his view of the water.
"I'm blockin' you. You can't see. What're we gonna do?" you grinned, cheekily, continuing to move in front of him as he tried to peer around you. "Oh, my Gods, we're gonna crash."
He looked up at you with a small smirk and a raised brow, amused, as you continued your antics.
"Oh, no. What's gonna happen?"
Suddenly, his hand roughly pulled you into his side, a soft squeal leaving your lips as he chuckled, allowing you to wrap your arms around his neck and continue your kissing assault while his two hands returned to the oar.
Nuzzling into the crook of his neck, you peppered lazy kisses on his skin, your hand coming up to card through the hairs at the base of his neck.
Tenderly, Zoro placed a few kisses of his own on your shoulder, his eye perking at the sight of your destination.
Robin had given him impossibly thorough instructions on how to get there, which is the only reason why you two hadn't miraculously made it to the next island.
"Hey..." he lightly nudged you as the boat approached the shore. "We're here."
Lifting your head, you carefully flew out his lap, touching down on the dry sand as he hopped into the shallow water, walking around to the back and pushing the canoe onto the shore.
"Oh, wow," you gasped, in awe at the beauty laid before you. "This is beautiful! Look at the view"
The moon hovered over the water, making the waves crystallize like diamonds below, just as the stars in the ink-black sky.
The sea breeze wafted your hair and cooled the sweat on your body from the heat of the day.
It felt good to get away from people, the serenity too nice to put off.
Suddenly, Zoro scooped you up, you in one arm and the case of booze in the other as he began walking toward the cove.
"It gets better," he smirked, leading you over to where the tall rocks flattened out and arched upward, turning themselves into a natural cabana.
Placing you down, he quickly gathered some sticks from nearby, before bringing them back and starting a fire.
And as he did so, you couldn't help but marvel at his body, thick, corded muscle flexing and extending under his skin at each minute movement, looking delicious enough to bite.
And that wasn't the blood-sucker in you talking.
You sighed in contentment as you tipped your head up towards the sky, admiring the stars twinkling above
Finishing up, Zoro plopped down beside you and threw an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his side with a proud smile.
"Nice, right?" he chuckled.
You lazily nodded, wanting to stay there forever—among the water, stars, and him.
You peered up at him through your lashes, hesitant to speak in fear of ruining the moment.
Slowly, he wrapped his arms around you, engulfing you in them. And you let yourself be pulled into him, sighing when your head met the crook of his shoulder.
You embraced him back, crushing your breasts against his hard chest.
There, you two stayed, holding each other, linked together like magnets.
"You smell nice," he murmured into your skin, taking a deep inhale of you. "Like coconut."
You smiled, shyly, warmth rising to your cheeks at the compliment.
And after a few silent seconds, he pulled away from you, his eyes dark as the night sky.
"I'm gonna kiss you," he stated, curtly, his gaze alight with enamor.
You didn't get to say a reply, too preoccupied with the lips pressing against yours.
The kiss was hungry, your lips moving against each other's like you both were starving for one another.
And you were.
You could tell Zoro wanted the same thing you did when his hands moved below your waist to squeeze your ass, the feeling making you moan into his mouth.
He replied with his own grunt and pulled away, his eyes glazed over with lust.
"I wanna see you," he stated, his voice a deep rumble.
There was a molten tenderness in his gaze that had you shivering in pleasure and anticipation, wondering what else he had in store for you.
So you stripped.
Catching the hint, your hands glided up your back, pulling the string of your bikini top and letting your breasts fall out of the cups, along with the strings to your bottoms.
Zoro's eyes raked over the sight of you as if you were a piece of art he was admiring in a museum.
"Shit," he softly hissed to himself, amazed at the sight of your brown, hardened nipples.
You softly whimpered at his calloused hands caressing your sensitive breasts, causing him to move on to other matters.
He leaned in and latched his lips onto one of your nipples, where he began to suckle on.
You threw your head back to stare at the endless sky, your mouth open in an O as pleasured moans fell from your lips.
You couldn't help yourself, especially when Zoro began to suckle and flick his tongue along the sensitive bud of your nipple, his hand kneading your other breast in the process.
Then he switched, giving your other breast the same treatment.
Your hands found his hair, your fingers aimlessly wandering through the green strands.
You were ruining its somewhat even style, but he didn't seem to care.
He was more concerned with nibbling along your nipple, making you sharply inhale before your voice choked on a broken moan.
You couldn't take it.
All of this was going straight to your core, which was now throbbing and begging for attention between your thighs.
"Please, Zo'..." you whined, gripping his hair. "I need you to touch me."
With a cocky smile, the man nodded, slowly leaning forward to lay you down in the sand.
Your eyes flitted up to the torch lit beach across the water, realizing any eagle-eyed person could come out and see you naked.
"Wait... what if someone sees us?" you asked, uncharacteristically timid.
A devious smirk rose to his lips, and he pressed a reassuring kiss on your lips.
"Let 'em... They'll be in for a show."
Gently, he pried your thighs open, revealing your sobbing, wet core.
You watched his face change from playful to downright feral as he stared at your cunt.
You flushed at his expression.
'Gods, give me strength...'
"Zoro, I'm serious—"
He shushed you, leaning forward to press wet kisses along your inner thighs.
"No more talkin', pretty," he growled against them. "All I wanna hear is my name on your lips."
He continued to pepper you thighs in kisses while his hands pinned your legs apart, his hold on you firm.
He didn't want you hiding from him.
And it felt good.
You didn't stop him when he dove right into your pussy, first peppering your lips and clit in open-mouthed kisses as if he was making out with them.
It had been so long since the two of you'd gotten intimate like this, you nearly forgot the way the man worked his mouth.
Especially when he started to flick his tongue against your clit.
His tongue swirled around it and flicked it gently based on your responses.
And shit, you were responding well.
Your body couldn't help but react pleasantly to the sensations—your toes curling; your back arching; your eyes fluttering shut; your mouth falling open into an O as moans and gasps fell from your lips.
Zoro was not only good with his tongue, but good with his hands.
He reached up and played with your titties, tweaking and pinching your nipples according to your verbal cues.
"H-Harder, please!" you begged, to which he pinched the hard, brown peaks a little harder, the burst of pain making you gush all over his lips.
"Fuck, Zo'," you moaned. "That feels so good..."
Zoro hummed approvingly into your cunt, the vibrations making your clit quiver pleasurably.
"Keep feelin' good for me, pretty," he said between the wet flicks of his tongue on your rosebud. "Lean back and wrap your thighs around my head f'me."
Before you could even say anything, he was already tugging you closer by your ankle, earning a squeal from you.
He stood on his knees for a moment, taking you in.
His lust-blown eyes trailed up and down your naked form, drinking in every part of you.
Then he inhaled deeply, as if struggling to process the sight in front of him.
"Christ, you're so fuckin' gorgeous," he huskily said.
You had no idea what to say to that.
All you could do was shyly smile up at him as he stared down at you, both of you enchanted with each other.
Then he was ducking back down and throwing your thighs across his shoulders with ease, wrapping your legs around his head.
This gave him better access to your pussy so he could easily tongue-fuck you.
As soon as you felt the wet muscle entering your wet folds and his nose brush against your clit you were in heaven.
Your eyes rolled into the back of your head and your hands found his hair, gripping the blonde strands as your hips began to grind shamelessly into his face.
"Mmm-hmmm," he hummed approvingly, keeping up the pace.
He didn't pause or slow down.
He continued to work your pussy just how you wanted, making you see stars behind your eyelids and cry to the moon above.
It didn't take long for that feeling of release to dawn on you.
You couldn't help it.
His tongue just felt too good.
Plus, the atmosphere and the whole idea of getting caught in such a risque position turned you on more than you'd like to admit.
Zoro must've realized you were close because his jaw started to move fast, accompanying his tongue-fucking with porn-worthy grunts of his own that nearly threw you over the edge.
"Fuck, Zoro!" you whined. "M'gonna come!"
Eagerly, he hummed into your pussy, pulling his tongue out of your hole and proceeding to suck on your clit while his finger began to stroke the outside of your slit, barely touching your insides.
But it was enough to push you further and further down that road to releasing all over him.
His darkened eyes flicked up to yours, staring you down between your thighs.
"Come for me," he demanded. "Come for me, baby. Don't fuckin' hold back."
He grinned up at you, his eyes glistening in the moonlight.
He attached his mouth to your pussy again, and ran it until you couldn't help but fall over the edge.
"Come for me," he groaned into your cunt, becoming gradually louder as your moans reached higher pitches. "Come for me. Come for me. Come for me."
And you finally did.
That tight knot in your core finally snapped and a wave of euphoria washed over you as you came all over Zoro's face and eager lips with a loud moan.
You saw the entire galaxy and beyond as your pussy gushed, your body shivering and shuddering.
Your back arched and your hips widened into Zoro's face, trying to keep as much of the feeling going as possible.
When it finally faded, you were left feeling tired, spent, and oh-so good.
Zoro lazily cleaned you up, taking care to not overstimulate you as he ran his tongue over your sensitive, twitching core.
Then he lifted his head up away from your thighs, giving you a peak of his chin and mouth shining in your juices.
With the moon in his glazed eyes, he hummed to himself.
"You taste better than the rum."

how to disappear. (opla!zoro x fem!reader)
Tumblr media
synopsis: joining luffy’s crew made you believe that you’d finally escaped your former pirate crew and nightmare of a captain for good. that is, until a certain butler starts looking a little too familiar. good thing zoro’s keeping a close eye on you.
warnings: opla spoilers (ep 3), some direct dialogue from opla, mentions of verbal/physical abuse, kuro is just a weirdo tbh, reader is called a bitch, protective zoro, for the sake of the story sham and buchie joined the black cat pirates after reader left
word count: 4.7k
Tumblr media
“this guy is full of shit.”
you knock your shoulder into zoro’s wider one. “be nice. and so what if he is?”
zoro gives you a pointed glare. “then we should turn around and look for someone who can actually help us find a ship.”
“all business, as per usual,” you reply, with a purposefully dramatic sigh. “why can’t you have a little fun?”
“what about this is supposed to be fun?” zoro spits out the word like it’s poisonous. “this is the blandest village i’ve ever seen.”
you scoff. “now you’re the one that’s full of shit. nothing’s ever bland with us and you know it.”
the us in question was your newly formed pirate crew… if you and luffy could even be considered that. having left the ship you’d been on a few years ago, you were in search of a new crew. luffy was persistent and charming — when you’d crossed paths in shells town, it took little to no time for him to convince you to join his hunt for the one piece. zoro and nami, on the other hand, had yet to follow in your footsteps.
“well, considering that we’ve only been traveling together for a day and a half and i’ve already escaped a marine base, defeated a marine captain, and fought a clown with devil fruit powers… i’d actually have to agree.”
you can’t help but giggle at his sarcastic delivery. “be grateful, zoro. not many pirate crews are this fun to be on, trust me. oh wait, that’s right, you still haven’t officially joined—”
“tell me about your old pirate crew,” interjects zoro, your comment having piqued his interest.
you notice that the playful atmosphere dissipates. “god, where do i even start?”
zoro answers that for you. “why did you leave?”
“starting with the hard hitting questions, huh?” you joke, mostly to stall. you clear your throat before you answer. “well, it was different. nothing like what luffy has going on. he actually cares about his crew… and even those who aren’t technically on it.”
at that, a smile tugs at the corner of zoro’s lips. even you crack a small grin. although as you continue speaking, it fades.
“on my old crew, we were dispensable. anytime something went wrong, our own captain would threaten to kill us. it was… scary, to be completely honest. there were so many times when i thought i’d die with that filthy crew. and i never wanted that. so as soon as we docked at shells town, i left.”
zoro’s jaw clenches as imagines the things you’d seen and been subjected to. “this old captain of yours sounds like a real—”
“he was a nightmare,” you tell him. “he didn’t care that i was the only woman on board, he treated me just as horribly, if not worse.”
zoro stops so suddenly that it takes you a second to realize he’s not walking alongside you.
“what do you mean by that.” the way zoro phrases the inquiry doesn’t even make it sound like a question. more like a demand. his narrowed eyes are fixed solely on you. holding his gaze feels… intense.
you can’t help but glance away as you answer him. “he was just a bit of a creep.”
before zoro has the chance to try and extract more information out of you, a familiar voice calls both your names. you’re not really sure when you and zoro had fallen behind but from where you currently stand, the rest of your group looks miniature. or perhaps it’s just the massive size of the mansion behind them that makes luffy, nami, and usopp look pocket-sized in comparison.
“why’d you stop walking?!” your captain shouts, hands pressed on each side of his mouth to amplify his voice. “get over here, we’re about to go in through the top secret entrance!”
you vaguely make out usopp gesturing for luffy to keep his voice down. you’re sure that would warrant another comment from zoro about his reliability but he’s too busy staring at you with that expectant look in his eyes.
“we better catch up,” you tell him, heading in the direction of the deluxe home.
he allows you to dodge the subject and sighs, walking in long strides to catch up to you.
Tumblr media
“i’ve never seen a house this big before,” luffy admits, admiring the mansion along with the wellkept greenery surrounding it.
“awesome, right?” usopp gloats, walking around like he owned the place. “kaya’s given me an open invitation to drop by anytime i want.”
“wow.” you’re not sure if luffy was just going along with usopp’s act or if he really believed him. knowing the devil fruit user, it was more than likely the latter. “all this for just one person?”
“well, she lives here with her butler and a few other staff,” usopp replies, leaning against the stone well that sat in the middle of the lawn.
“money really shows you who people truly are,” nami mutters, eyes scanning the property. “most people only care about themselves and what’s theirs.”
zoro is quick to throw the insult back at her. “sounds like someone i know.”
you roll your eyes at his comment, though you make no effort to disagree with him. nami was a little on the materialistic side.
“and a small staff makes for easy pickings,” she continues, proving your point.
“we just got here and you’re already planning on robbing the place blind?” you ask though you already know the answer.
“at least a little blurry,” she smirks, following behind luffy and usopp who walk toward the entrance.
you and zoro share a look. one that says disappointed but not surprised.
going under a shrub shaped as an arch, you’re met with a beautiful pond. you admire the pink lilies that float at the top and the bushes that were intricately trimmed into the shape of various animals. even if the people that lived here were filthy rich, at least they had good decorative taste.
“so if you have an invitation, why are we going around the back way?” luffy ponders.
usopp’s answer is nonchalant. “oh, i never use the front entrance. like i said, this is the vip entrance reserved for special guests.”
zoro scoffs. “this guy’s definitely–”
“don’t start,” you groan, cutting him off.
abruptly, usopp freezes and spins around, attempting to usher your crew back. “you know what, there’s actually a more exclusive entrance this way–”
the sharp swoosh of a knife cutting through the air and burying itself in the ground between usopp’s feet cuts him off. from the direction the kitchen utensil was thrown stands a heavyset gentleman with his face wrinkled in anger. his demanding voice booms through the garden, “the hell are you doing here, usopp?”
the dark-skinned boy fumbles over his word. “buchi, buddy, uh, kaya’s expecting me.”
“another one of your lies,” the man – seemingly named buchi – seethes, grabbing him by the collar. “you ain’t welcome here and you know it.”
“i know nothing of the sort,” usopp retorts, keeping his cool even when he was practically being lifted off the ground by his shirt. “i’m here to give kaya an extra special gift.”
before buchi can get another word out, a feminine voice calls out for your companion. coming down the steps is a frail looking girl in a pink dress. on her arm is a man dressed in a crisp suit, presumably the butler usopp had mentioned earlier. though, from where you stand you can’t see either of their faces too clearly.
“what a wonderful surprise,” she exclaims, breathlessly.
“kaya!” usopp exclaims, returning her enthusiasm. buchi has no choice but to let him go, begrudgingly. usopp makes sure to shoot him a smug look before walking towards the young girl. “happy birthday.”
the butler clears his throat, not afraid to intrude on their special moment. “usopp, we’ve discussed this before. you mustn’t show up unannounced.”
“nonsense, klahadore.” kaya smiles warmly. “have you come to tell me another story? i do love hearing about your adventures.”
“i’ll do you one better,” usopp smirks with such confidence that even you’re left wondering what kind of surprise he has up his sleeve. “i brought some of my crew!” he gestures back towards the four of you, proudly.
your excitement vanishes. “oh. the surprise is… us.”
“well, that’s boring,” luffy agrees, just as disappointed as you are.
kaya, on the other hand, is none the wiser. “it’s so nice to meet you. you must all stay for dinner.”
klahadore lowers his voice. “miss kaya, it is a bit last minute. i’m afraid the kitchen hasn’t prepared for any extra guests.”
“please,” begs kaya, softly. “it’s my birthday. can’t be too much trouble can it?”
giving in, klahadore purses his lips. “anything for you, miss kaya.”
luffy claps his hands together. “alright! when do we eat?”
“you don’t. not dressed like that, at least.” the butler directs himself to a staff member with teal colored hair. “sham, kindly show usopp and his friends to the guest suites. you will bathe and change before dinner.”
she follows his orders and leads the way. luffy, usopp, nami, and zoro trail behind her and you go to do the same. however, all it takes is a quick glance to stop you dead in your tracks. usually, you weren’t one to stare but klahadore’s face. that stare. so dark and depraved.
“yes, miss?” he asks, holding your gaze. “can i help you?”
“n-no, i…” your throat goes dry as you attempt to recover smoothly. “i just wanted to, um, thank you for being so hospitable.”
his lips curve upwards into a sinister grin. “the pleasure’s all mine.” as if to confirm your worst fear, klahadore uses his palm to readjust his glasses. his beady eyes gauge your reaction closely.
the familiar gesture sends chills down your spine. appearance-wise, he had changed drastically but his aura was still just as menacing as you remember it. he was still the corrupt pirate captain you used to serve under. you feel like a weak and helpless subordinate all over again.
“klahadore!” giggles kaya. “you’re smiling! that’s certainly a rarity.”
he hums. “i’ve simply come to the realization that having guests once in a while can truly be a delight.”
his sickeningly sweet tone makes your stomach turn. just the fact that you were standing in front of him – captain kuro – again after all these years was nauseating in itself. last you’d heard he had died at the hands of captain morgan. how was this even possible? then again, he wasn’t dubbed kuro of a hundred plans for no reason. he always had a trick or two up his sleeve. you assumed this was no different.
“hey, you comin’?”
you turn around to see zoro waiting for you. he meets your gaze for a moment. the softness of his eyes is a stark contrast to kuro’s. it’s a breath of fresh air. he then shifts his attention to your former captain and you swear his eyes darken.
“yeah, sorry,” you mumble, trying not to look shaken as you walk up the steps.
zoro follows behind you, this time closer than before.
Tumblr media
“why would anybody even need this many clothes?”
“it’s not about need with these people, luffy. it’s about want,” nami spits, thumbing through the various fabrics on the wall.
“at least she’s rich and nice,” luffy replies, innocently.
nami rolls her eyes. “yeah, letting us stay for dinner must be her idea of charity work.”
“what are we even supposed to wear?” luffy continues, uninterested in nami’s criticism of the rich.
“anything you want. when are you ever going to get the opportunity to wear things this nice?”
you step out from behind the changing board where you’d swapped out your old tee and cargo skirt for an elegant satin dress. it was a stunning shade of olive green and frilly lace decorated the edges. not to mention, it hugged your curves in all the right ways.
nami’s eyes widen. “see, she’s got the right idea. you look amazing.”
you smile, bashfully. “honestly, i feel amazing.”
“you look the same to me,” your captain shrugs.
nami shoots him a death glare but you intervene before she can scold him.
“way to keep me humble, luffy.”
“no problem!”
at that exact moment, a freshly showered zoro arrives donning a silk robe. he eyes the multitude of garments that cover every inch of the room, not particularly impressed.
“there you are. don’t you think she looks nice?” nami asks him, gesturing towards you. she doesn’t notice how you shrink under zoro’s gaze. neither does he, as his eyes take their time raking over you, from top to bottom.
he hums. “suits you.” with that, he sets off towards a chair in the corner of the room.
“seriously?” sighs nami, exasperated. “are you two physically unable to give compliments or something?”
“hey, doesn’t that butler seem familiar to you guys?” zoro asks, promptly ignoring nami’s complaint.
his question causes your breath to hitch. you’d pushed the kuro problem to the back of your mind while you were in search of a suitable dinner outfit. you figured that as long as your crew was by your side, he wouldn’t dare try anything. and even if he did… well, you’d seen what had happened to axe-hand morgan and buggy.
“yeah, i think he was at the last dinner party i attended,” nami replies sarcastically, taking a handful of dresses behind the changing board.
as he takes a seat, zoro grumbles, “i swear i’ve seen him before.”
“where?” you can’t help but ask, fiddling with the lace on the neckline of your dress.
“so far, i’ve got two suspicions. a wanted poster or funky bar on mirrorball island. you ever been?”
you know zoro’s teasing you, judging by the grin on his face. after all, funky bar was known to get insanely rowdy; never would he imagine finding someone as gentle as you there. but what he didn’t know is that it happened to be one of kuro’s favorite bars. per his request, you and the rest of the black cat pirates frequented it often, so he was more than likely right about having seen kuro there. he’d probably even seen you in passing, once or twice. thankfully, he doesn’t seem to have any recollection of that.
the thought of zoro knowing about your past forms a knot in the pit of your stomach. would he think less of you for having joined such a ruthless crew at one point in your life? what if it put a strain on the friendship you’d worked so hard to form?
“i’ve, uh, heard of it,” you decide to reply, pushing down your worries for the time being.
he tilts his head slightly, thinking out loud. “then again, i have seen a lot of wanted posters and bars in my time as a pirate hunter.”
you feel a grin creep onto your face. “probably more bars than posters, huh?”
zoro mirrors your smile. “shut up.”
Tumblr media
by the time dinner rolls around, the entire crew is doing what they do best.
luffy is stuffing his face, nami is attempting to swindle one of the staff, zoro is hanging by the drinks, and you’re hanging by zoro.
“hey zoro, you gotta try this!” luffy calls through a mouthful of food.
“i’ve got all i need right here,” he mutters, taking a swig out of his champagne flute.
“you know, i don’t think i’ve ever seen you choke down something that isn’t alcohol,” you comment, watching the way he downs the glass in one go.
dryly, he replies, “that’s because i haven’t.”
“very on brand.”
“ladies and gentlemen,” calls out that voice from the top of the stairs. “may i present… miss kaya.”
arm in arm, kuro and kaya walk down the steps, all eyes on the birthday girl and her stunning gown. well, except you. your eyes never leave the so-called butler by her side. your jaw clenches when he has the audacity to meet your gaze and hold it. shameless bastard.
once they reach the bottom, merry leads kaya to the guests while kuro takes his post at the bottom of the stairs… right next to the drink table. before you can think about steering yourself and zoro away, kuro speaks.
“forgive me if i am speaking out of line, madam, but i must inform you. you look positively radiant,” he purrs, soaking in your appearance. he looks ready to pounce.
you can’t stop your eyes from rolling. good to know he’s the same pervert he used to be.
looking between you both and sensing your discomfort, zoro steps in. “and you look familiar.”
kuro’s head stiffly turns to face him, eyes peeling away from you. “highly doubtful, sir.”
“funky bar? mirror ball island?”
“funky bar?” kuro repeats, disgusted. “well, i can assure you i’ve never patronized that type of establishment.”
while it was amusing to see your highly esteemed former captain lie through his teeth, the tension between him and zoro was unbearable.
“well then.” zoro continues with his little interrogation. “ever been on a wanted poster?”
you cringe at his bluntness. sometimes it seemed like he had less of a filter than luffy.
kuro puts on a scandalized face at the question. “sir! such an accusation is highly offensive.” tugging on his collar, he goes to remove himself from zoro’s probing. “now, if you’ll excuse me, i’m going to help prepare the dinner table.”
he leaves, en route to the dining room. zoro’s eyes follow his figure until he disappears, squinting as he racks his brain for any further recollection of this suspicious butler.
you sigh. if zoro was going to continue being so relentless, you were sure the night would end in bloodshed and uncovered secrets.
Tumblr media
“keep this coming,” zoro demands, handing the empty wine bottle to sham. she takes it with a glare.
“would it kill you to say please?” you ask, slicing the slab of fish on your plate into smaller pieces.
“the service here is shitty. why should i have to be polite?”
you scowl. “remind me to never have dinner with you again.”
zoro turns to you with that cocky grin of his. “what if i asked nicely?”
his quip makes your heart flutter but you manage to keep your composure. “you can try your luck.”
before he can respond, usopp speaks up. “luffy, isn’t there something that you wanted to talk to kaya about?”
luffy gesticulates enthusiastically with his fork. “oh, yes! usopp told me that you own the whole shipyard.”
“well, actually, my parents founded the shipyard and merry’s been running the business since they… passed. but all that’s about to change. tonight, at midnight, i will become the sole owner.” she smiles somberly.
“well, that’s great,” luffy says, raising his drink at her. “because we want to buy a ship from you.”
“ah, i see. usopp mentioned that you’re sailors.”
“nope, not sailors. we’re pirates!”
you’re certain at least three people at the table choke on their food, yourself included.
“this ought to be good,” zoro mumbles behind his glass.
you’re too busy coughing into your napkin to chastise him for finding this entertaining.
“pirates?” kaya repeats, unsure of how to react.
“yup! we haven’t sailed together for very long but we’ve already defeated an evil clown, raided a marine base, and taken down a captain with an axe! for a hand!” luffy holds up a fist, presumably to impersonate axe-hand morgan.
“sounds a lot like your adventures, usopp,” kaya says, turning to the brunette.
all he can do is laugh dryly. “yeah, that’s… that’s crazy.”
“and we’re just getting started!” luffy continues, climbing up onto the table.
“someone put me out of my misery,” you mumble, looking down at your plate to ignore the secondhand embarrassment.
a tap on your shoulder answers your plea.
turning around, you find yourself face to face with kuro once again. “madam, a word please?”
“might i ask what for?” zoro cuts in before you can so much as think of a response.
kuro offers him the most forced grin you’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing. “i’m afraid that is between the lady and i.”
the swordsman turns to you, scanning your face for any ounce of discomfort. “you okay with that?”
you inhale, figuring it was finally time for you to confront the darkest part of your past. it was silly to assume you would be able to ignore him throughout your entire stay here. besides, you were sure zoro, just like the rest of your crew, would be on standby if kuro got brave enough to try anything. “sure. just… keep an eye out.”
zoro understands completely. truthfully, you didn’t even need to ask – he always looked after you. “got it.”
you push yourself out of your seat and smooth out your dress. you allow kuro to lead you to the doorway – he was smart enough to know that was the farthest you’d let him take you.
“what do you want, klahadore?” you seethe, folding your arms.
he arches a brow. “why must you call me that? it’s ridiculous.”
you tilt your head with faux innocence. “oh? is that not your name? must have misheard.”
he gives you an irritated look, dark eyes drilling into you.
“i remember that look,” you mutter, your memory serving you well. “it’s the same one you’d give me before you’d threaten to slice me to bits with your claws.”
kuro has the audacity to chuckle dryly. “but i never did, did i? although there were certainly times times where i should’ve.”
“what you should be is dead,” you hiss bitterly. “when i heard the news, i knew it was too good to be true.”
“you wound me, kitten,” he drawls, reaching up to fix his glasses.
the condescending nickname makes your skin crawl. it carried so many awful memories of your time spent with the black cat pirates. it reminded you of just how weak kuro viewed you — nothing but a helpless, pitiful kitten in his eyes. typical of the man that abused his authority and treated you with not a single ounce of respect.
he continues, putting on a sweet tone. “after all these years, stuck waiting hand and foot on that spoiled brat, there’s nothing i’d love more than to hear my favorite crew mate say my real name.”
you snap at him. “i’m no crew mate of yours.”
he sighs, dramatically. “sadly, you’re correct. after all, you did slip off the ship the moment we docked in shells town. locating you on an island crawling with marines proved to be nearly impossible. we had no choice but to leave without you.”
“that’s exactly why i chose to escape there.”
“and to this day i can’t for the life of me figure out why you would ever do that. why would you want to leave us? leave me?”
you actually laugh right in his face. “is it really that hard to figure out? you were evil. you threatened and harassed me on a daily basis.”
“so your solution was to join that ragtag crew?” he glances at the table. “it’s pathetic, even for you.”
you lean into his face, lowering your voice down. “i’m happier than i ever was on your shitty crew. every day i wake up grateful that i managed to escape you.”
you see that vein on his forehead bulge before he’s gripping you by the chin. “listen here, you little bitch–”
the shiny silver of a sword slides between you and kuro, coming to rest against his neck. his adam’s apple bobs as he gulps anxiously, releasing you. thanks to zoro’s sword, it seemed as if he finally remembered where he was. you were no longer on his ship, he was no longer allowed to treat you like the dirt he walked on. not without someone noticing, that is.
“why don’t you step away?” zoro offers simply.
that much was a kindness. usually those who found themselves on the end of zoro’s blade(s) weren’t lucky enough to receive a warning. however, the swordsman didn’t wish to cause a scene. at least not when you were right there and everyone was watching with shock from the dinner table.
kuro obliges, stumbling back. he meets kaya’s horrified eyes, feeling ashamed that he allowed his act to slip. surely this would cause some setbacks in his plan. with no excuse for his uncharacteristic behavior, the raven haired man scurries away and up the stairs.
zoro turns and locks eyes with luffy, giving him one singular nod. luffy returns it, jumping out of his seat and going after the butler. quiet murmuring breaks out at the dinner table, everyone surely confused.
sheathing his sword, zoro directs his attention to you once more. “are you alright?” a calloused hand comes up to grip your chin, much like kuro had. however, this time, the touch is gentle. loving, almost. you welcome it.
“yeah, i’m… fine.” your heart is beating out of your chest and it has everything to do with your close proximity to zoro.
he tilts your face around, inspecting every inch of it. once he finishes, he pulls back. his demeanor goes serious once more. “we need to have a talk.”
you nod. “i know. i’ve been keeping some things from you guys and–”
“just tell me what’s been going on,” he demands. “and don’t overcomplicate it. you can be straightforward with me.”
his sincerity makes you start over, this time far more candidly. “klahadore used to be a pirate. i was part of his crew. he was my… captain.”
the shame in your voice pulls at zoro’s heartstrings. didn’t you know there was no reason to feel guilty with him? “is that it?”
you open your mouth to speak but come up empty. all you can do is furrow your eyebrows at his unexpectedly dismissive reaction.
“i knew it,” zoro continues, annoyed. “i knew i’d seen him on a wanted poster before. just didn’t have any proof.”
“wait, so you don’t– you really don’t care?” you ask, still avoiding eye contact. “me being a former black cat pirate doesn’t bother you?”
he shrugs. “you said it yourself. ‘former.’ all that matters is that you got the hell out of there. and away from that creep. would he always put his hands on you like that?”
you blink a couple times, sighing. “his temper was really bad so–”
that seemed to be enough for zoro. “i’ll kill the bastard,” he hisses. “wanted to slice him to bits the moment i saw him grab you.”
though it’s a violent threat, you can’t help but smile. the idea of zoro being so protective that he’d kill a man just for touching you made you blush. pirate love language, you suppose.
“well, i wouldn’t have stopped you,” you tell him, more than ready to see your former captain go.
zoro clicks his tongue. “nah. could’ve stained your new dress with his blood. i never would have been able to forgive myself.”
“so you do have a soft spot,” you tease.
“only for pretty things.”
“do you mean me or the dress?”
now it’s zoro’s turn to become bashful. though, his lack of response is an answer in itself. you can’t help but giggle.
a loud bang from upstairs interrupts your moment with the green-haired man. you assume luffy had gotten his hands on kuro… or vice versa. zoro must be thinking the same thing judging by the way he instinctively rests a hand on the handle of his blade.
“you should go up there,” you tell him. “i’ll stay with kaya.”
he gives you a nod, though he doesn’t make any effort to leave. he stands there like he wants to say something… or do something. before you can think about it too much, you pull him in by the collar and crash your lips onto his. they’re slightly chapped and taste like the wine that’d come from the cellar – it’s pleasant. his large palms come to rest on your lower back; his hold feels tight and secure.
when you finally allow yourself to pull away, you’re biting back a smile. “kick his ass for me.”
“will i get more of that if i do?” asks zoro, wetting his lips. they now taste like the cherry lip gloss you’d borrowed from kaya. he takes a step forward, attempting to close the gap between you two once more.
you shrug, pushing him away by the chest. “go help luffy and we’ll see.”
you both know that means yes.

The war for Wano is over.
Kaido has fallen. Orochi is dead. The Beasts Pirates have been crushed.
And yet, despite the celebrations, the laughter, and the cries of victory in the Flower Capital, you stand apart alone, as you’re used to.
The battlefield still writhes with shadows. Black, eerie figures kneel at your feet, remnants of those you’ve slain, now bound to your will.
Your power grants you dominion over the dead. Every opponent you cut down becomes yours, their shadows shackled to you in eternal servitude.
Some call you a monster. Others call you a deity of war. Either way, they fear you.
And that’s why the three most dangerous men alive are now fighting over you.
“Oi! There you are!”
Luffy’s voice rings across the ruined battlefield, his footsteps loud as he runs up to you. His grin is as bright as ever, completely unaffected by the haunting army of shadows still lurking behind you.
“That was so cool!” he says, eyes practically sparkling “You should totally join my crew!”
You blink “What?”
“You’re strong! And awesome! And you’d love the Sunny!” Luffy laughs “I bet you and Zoro would get along!”
You tilt your head. He’s serious.
Before you can answer...
“Tch. Move it, Straw Hat.”
Boots stomp onto the cracked ground. Kid.
His crimson eyes burn with something like admiration but it’s buried beneath his usual arrogance.
“You’re not actually considering that dumbass, are you?” He folds his arms, metal arm gleaming under the moonlight “You belong with a real crew… mine.”
You smirk “You mean a ship full of lunatics?”
Kid’s grin widens “Exactly, you’re obviously one of us.”
Before you can respond—
“You two never shut up.”
The voice is calm, sharp. Surgical.
Law steps forward, hands in his coat pockets, golden eyes locked onto you. Unlike the others, he doesn’t demand or taunt.
He simply says “You’re not looking for chaos. You’re not looking for a crew of idiots fighting over scraps. You’re looking for something bigger.” His gaze sharpens “Join me, and I’ll give you exactly that.”
The air tightens. The unspoken challenge crackles like thunder.
Luffy’s grin never fades “I’m not losing to either of you.”
Kid scoffs “Like hell you aren’t.”
Law just smirks “We’ll see.”
You exhale. They’re serious.
Three captains. Three paths.
You sigh, crossing your arms as you watch Luffy, Kid, and Law glare at each other, their presence crackling like lightning in the air.
“You guys do realize,” you deadpan, “that I never said I was joining any of you? You all know I’m a lonely pirate and somehow I already have my crew…”
Luffy ignores you “They’re all shadows… Join my crew, Y/N!” he says, grinning ear to ear “We’re all super strong! And we have a cook who makes the best food ever!”
Kid scoffs “You think food is what’s gonna convince them, Straw Hat?” He turns to you, crimson eyes gleaming “You’re wasted with these idiots. With me, you’d have the strongest crew on the seas. No one could touch us. And admit it, your powers fit us.”
Law sighs, rubbing his temple like he’s already exhausted by both of them “You two are insufferable.” He looks at you, his golden eyes sharp and calculating “You don’t need chaos. You don’t need a circus act. You need something real. Join me, and I’ll give you exactly that.”
You blink at them. They’re serious.
You already knew that Luffy was stubborn as hell, Kid was relentless, and Law was dangerous in the quietest ways, but you didn’t think they’d actually fight over you.
Your silence seems to fuel the fire.
“What can you even offer them, Trafalgar?” Kid sneers, cracking his knuckles “A crew full of weaklings?”
“I have a submarine” Law says coolly.
Luffy pauses “…That’s actually kind of cool. But the Sunny is way cooler! And we have the best musician ever! Do you guys even have music on your ships?”
You exhale through your nose “You guys do realize you’re treating me like a damn prize, right?”
Luffy blinks “Huh?”
Law sighs “That’s not what this is.”
Kid smirks “I mean, it kinda is.”
The ground shakes as your shadows shift, the weight of your power pressing down on the air “You’re acting like I’m just gonna follow one of you like a lost puppy.”
Kid grins “Wouldn’t say no to that.”
Before you can reply, a new voice cuts in.
“Oi! What the hell is going on here? We thought you were killing each other.”
You glance over to see Zoro, Killer, and Bepo approaching, the rest of their respective crews trailing behind them. Nami, Sanji, and Usopp are already watching from a distance, curiosity burning in their eyes. Heat and Wire stand near Killer, arms crossed. Shachi and Penguin exchange glances, whispering to each other.
It’s clear that the entire alliance has noticed the brewing tension.
“What is this, some kind of territory dispute?” Zoro grumbles, adjusting his swords.
“Oh, it’s worse,” Sanji says, lighting a cigarette “They’re fighting over y/n.”
Zoro pauses “Wait, seriously?”
“Seems like” Nami confirms.
Bepo looks at Law, confused “Captain, what’s happening?”
“Nothing” Law says flatly.
Killer sighs “Eustass-ya, this is ridiculous.”
Kid waves him off “Shut up, Killer. I’m working.”
“Working?” You narrow your eyes.
Kid shrugs, smirking “I like collecting powerful things.”
Luffy snorts “Well, I like collecting friends!”
Law rubs his temples again, clearly regretting everything.
Sanji exhales a plume of smoke “Well, well. What an interesting little mess.” as he eyes you with a smirk.
Your shadows ripple violently.
“Absolutely not.”
The temperature seems to drop as your aura expands. Even the wind seems to hold its breath.
The crews tense. They’ve seen you fight. They’ve seen the horrors your power can unleash.
Kid whistles, impressed “Damn. I like that.”
Luffy grins, unfazed “Your powers are so cool!”
Law watches you closely. Too closely. His golden eyes see more than you want him to.
You exhale “I don’t take orders from anyone. Not you. Not the World Government. Not anyone.”
Kid smirks “Then what do you want?”
You hesitate.
Because the truth is that you don’t know.
Luffy steps closer, eyes bright with something honest “You wanna see the world with us?”
Kid leans in, voice dropping into something dangerous “Or do you wanna rule it?”
Law, ever the strategist, doesn’t ask. He just looks at you and says “You’re searching for something. I can help you find it.”
The weight of their offers settles over you like a storm.
And for the first time in a long time you feel something real.
Luffy’s grin softens “You’d be awesome on the Sunny!”
Kid scoffs “Or you could actually be on a ship worthy of your strength.”
Law sighs, tilting his head slightly “You’re both exhausting.” But his eyes flick back to you, and for a second you see something intense.
They’re not letting this go.
“Yeesh, are they flirting or fighting?” Nami mutters.
Usopp stares “I… honestly can’t tell.”
Killer just sighs “Both.”
Heat nudges Wire “Should we start taking bets?”
Sanji exhales, watching you closely “Lucky bastards.”
You ignore them all, looking at the three captains in front of you. You’re not stupid, you know this isn’t just about power anymore.
It’s about you.
Kid steps closer, voice dropping just for you “You’re different.” His crimson eyes glint with something hungry “You’re not scared of me. You’re not scared of anything, are you?”
You smirk “Should I be?”
His grin stretches wider “I’d like to see you try.”
Luffy, still smiling, grabs your wrist. His fingers are warm, rough from battle and adventure, but there’s nothing forceful in the way he holds you. It’s just excited, unfiltered emotion.
“You’d have so much fun with us, y/n!” He leans in, voice almost giddy “I wanna show you the whole world!”
Your heart skips. Just a little.
Then a hand grabs Luffy’s wrist, yanking it off of you.
Law.
His touch is cool, precise, almost possessive. He doesn’t say anything, just stares at Luffy, then at you. There’s something undeniably sharp in his gaze now.
Something dangerous.
“Don’t touch them so casually” he says. His voice is low.
Luffy just tilts his head “Huh? Why not?”
Law doesn’t answer.
Kid watches, then laughs “Holy shit. You’re jealous.”
Law ignores him, eyes still locked on you “This isn’t a game.” His voice is quieter now “Not for me.”
And for once, you don’t know what to say.
The air feels heavier now, not from battle, but from something far more dangerous.
This isn’t just about alliances anymore.
This is a chase.
The weight of their gazes presses in. Too much.
You exhale slowly, rolling your shoulders back. The shadows one by one sink into the ground, vanishing like ink in water, back to where they belong.
The battlefield is quiet.
Kid watches with sharp interest “Tch. Even your Devil Fruit is showy.”
Luffy tilts his head, blinking “Huh? Where’d they go?”
Law doesn’t speak, just watches you with that calculating gaze, as if he’s trying to figure out what you’re thinking.
But you don’t give them the chance.
You turn on your heel and walk away.
Not a word.
Not an explanation.
Just silence.
The festival in the Flower Capital is alive with laughter, music, and sake. People are celebrating, embracing their long-awaited freedom.
The people of Wano don’t know you like they know the others. You’re not a Straw Hat, not a Heart Pirate, not part of Kid’s crew. You’re just a shadow passing through their victory.
It should be freeing.
It isn’t.
You settle against a wooden post near a quieter part of the town, eyes drifting up to the lanterns lighting up the sky. The night is warm, the air thick with the scent of grilled food and spilled alcohol. Somewhere in the distance, you can hear Brook playing music, the faint sound of Luffy laughing, the chaotic voices of pirates and samurai alike.
And yet, you’re alone.
Just how you like it.
…Right?
“You’re hard to find.”
The voice is low, familiar.
You don’t have to turn around to know who it is. Trafalgar Law.
He steps beside you, hands tucked in his coat pockets, golden eyes flicking toward yours. His expression is unreadable, but there’s something different in the way he’s looking at you. Something unspoken.
You don’t acknowledge him right away. Just sip from the drink you swiped earlier.
“You followed me?”
Law doesn’t deny it “You left without saying anything.”
“You guys were annoying me.”
He exhales through his nose, amused “I figured.”
Silence stretches between you, comfortable but heavy. The festival noise hums in the background, but this moment feels separate from all of it.
After a beat, Law speaks again.
“You’re not staying, are you?”
“Would that disappoint you?”
Law’s gaze sharpens, but not with irritation, but something deeper.
“I don’t like wasting my time,” he murmurs “And I don’t chase things I can’t keep.”
Your heartbeat stumbles.
A challenge. A warning. A confession. Maybe all three.
For the first time in a long time, you don’t know what to say, and Law notices.
Your grip tightens around your cup, but you force yourself to keep your expression neutral “That so?”
Law doesn’t answer right away. He just watches you, too closely, as if he’s already mapping out every possible move you could make. Then he tilts his head slightly.
“You don’t run from battles.” His voice is smooth, steady “But you walked away from us.”
You scoff “Don’t tell me you took that personally.”
He exhales through his nose “I don’t take things personally. I just like to understand what I’m dealing with.” His golden eyes flick to yours, sharp, unreadable “And you? You’re an enigma.”
A small smirk tugs at your lips “Flattery, Trafalgar?”
“Observation.”
The weight of his gaze lingers. Heavy. And something about it, about him, unsettles you in a way you don’t want to acknowledge. Because he’s right.
You don’t walk away from fights. You don’t back down from challenges. But something about them, about this whole mess, made you leave.
Before you can respond, a loud, familiar voice cuts through the air.
“There you are!”
Footsteps. Heavy boots against wood.
Kid.
He stomps over, crimson eyes flicking between you and Law, his lip curling “The hell is this?”
You raise a brow “A conversation?”
Kid huffs, rolling his shoulders like he’s shaking off some irritation “Didn’t think you were the type to have quiet conversations.”
Law clicks his tongue “And I didn’t think you were the type to go looking for someone who left without a word.”
Kid’s eyes darken “Tch. You think I give a damn if they left? I just don’t like loose ends.”
But the way his gaze lingers on you says otherwise.
You sigh, rubbing your temple. This is exactly what you wanted to avoid “Why are you two even here?”
Kid folds his arms “Maybe I don’t like being ignored.”
Law hums “Needy.”
“Shut the hell up, Trafalgar.”
You sigh “You’re both ridiculous.”
Kid leans against the post next to you, his smirk sharp “Maybe. But you didn’t answer the question.”
You glance at him “What question?”
He tilts his head, watching you like a predator watching its prey “Are you staying?”
The air between you tightens.
You could lie and tell them exactly what they want to hear, but you don’t answer at all. And this silence is what gets them.
Kid’s smirk twitches, like he doesn’t like not knowing. Law’s fingers flex at his sides, like he wants to dissect every inch of your thoughts.
And just when you think you might finally get some peace a familiar laugh echoes.
Luffy.
He lands in front of you, grinning like he hasn’t just dropped into the middle of something tense.
“Oi, y/n!” His grin stretches wide, his eyes shining “I’ve been looking for you!”
Of course he has. Of course they all have.
Luffy's wide eyes flick between you, Law, and Kid and he doesn’t miss a thing.
“Eh? You guys are here too?”
Kid rolls his eyes “No shit.”
Law sighs, rubbing his temple “Straw Hat-ya, this really isn’t—”
But Luffy’s already stepping into your space. Closer than the others. Closer than anyone should be.
His warm fingers brush against your wrist, tugging lightly but not pulling, not forcing.
“You left before the party started,” he says, pouting “I wanted to drink with you.”
His voice isn’t demanding. It’s something worse... soft.
Unfiltered. Real.
Your pulse skips just for a second. And from the way Law tenses and Kid narrows his eyes, you know they notice.
You don’t pull away, but you don’t answer either.
Luffy tilts his head “Are you mad?”
You blink “Why would I be mad?”
He shrugs “Dunno. Maybe ‘cause we wouldn’t stop arguing in front of you.”
Kid scoffs “You mean because you wouldn’t shut up?”
Luffy grins “Well, yeah.”
Law exhales, voice flat “Straw Hat-ya, you’re not helping.”
But Luffy doesn’t care. He never does. He just looks at you, his fingers still wrapped around your wrist.
“You didn’t answer Kid’s question” he says.
You freeze. Of course he noticed.
Kid shifts beside you, arms crossed, eyes burning “Yeah, y/n. You staying or not?”
Law watches you, calculating, unreadable.
The festival noise fades. It’s just them. Just this. And you still don’t answer. Not because you don’t know, but because they all want different things.
Kid wants power. A challenge. Someone who doesn’t bend to him but still stands beside him. And you can give him that.
Law wants strategy. Precision. Someone he can trust, someone who understands things without needing to say them. And, angain, you can give him that.
Luffy just...
Luffy just wants you as you.
Not for your strength. Not for your Devil Fruit.
Just because you’re you.
And that’s the scariest thing of them all to you.
So instead of answering, you finally pull your hand back.
“I’m going to get a drink” you say simply.
Then you walk away, again. And this time none of them stop you.
Your boots move over the worn wooden planks of the street, but your mind lingers on the moment you pulled away. On the way they looked at you. You grip the sake bottle you swiped from a distracted vendor, your fingers pressing just a little too tightly around it. You shouldn’t care and yet... Footsteps. You don’t turn. You don’t have to. “I thought I told you I was getting a drink” you murmur. A low chuckle. Rough, amused. “Didn’t say I wasn’t getting one too.” Kid. Of course. You glance over your shoulder. He’s close.
Crimson eyes gleaming, coat still torn from battle, his usual sneer replaced with something slower, something that lingers. He’s looking at you like you’re his favorite fight.
You sigh, raising the bottle to your lips “What, afraid I’ll disappear?”
Kid’s smirk sharpens “I don’t get afraid.”
You swallow, letting the warmth of the sake burn down your throat “Could’ve fooled me.”
His grin widens “Tch. You wish.”
You should tell him to leave but you don’t. Because despite the way Kid is all sharp edges, all arrogance, all chaos, he’s also the one who followed. The one who didn’t let you slip into the night alone.
“Where the hell do you think you’re running off to, anyway?” he asks.
You tilt your head, watching him “Who says I’m running?”
Kid scoffs “Please. You didn’t just walk away. You walked the hell out.”
You hum, taking another slow sip “And yet, here you are.”
His smirk doesn’t fade “Damn right.”
“You’re different from them” he mutters.
You raise a brow “Them?”
His eyes flick back to where Law and Luffy were.
“They don’t get you like I do.” His voice drops just slightly, lower, rougher “You don’t play nice. You don’t follow. And you sure as hell don’t belong on a crew that treats life like a damn adventure story.”
You exhale, tapping the bottle against your thigh “That why you’re here?”
Kid takes another step closer, his voice a challenge and a promise all at once.
“I’m here ‘cause you don’t belong to anyone, y/n...”
His grin turns sharp.
“...but you could stand beside me. And you know that.”
A challenge. A temptation. And a mistake.
Because before you can answer, another voice cuts in.
“You don’t decide that for them.”
Kid turns, scowling, just as Law steps into the light.
You exhale through your nose “Figures you’d show up next. You all won't give up until I make a choice, will you?”
Law doesn’t deny it “Because you keep walking away” His voice is level “But you didn’t leave.”
Kid scoffs “Oh, for fuck’s sake!”
But Law ignores him. He steps closer, close enough that the air between you shifts. His voice is quieter now, meant only for you.
“If you were really leaving, you would’ve been gone by now.”
You grip the bottle tighter “And what if I just wanted a damn drink in peace?”
“Then you wouldn’t have let him follow.”
Your pulse stumbles. Kid’s jaw clenches, but before he can snap back, a familiar warmth crashes into you.
Luffy.
Arms wrapping around you like it’s the most natural thing in the world, his laugh bright, unbothered by the tension thick enough to cut with a blade.
“There you are!” He pulls back just enough to grin up at you “I knew you weren’t really leaving yet!”
You blink “What makes you so sure?”
Luffy tilts his head, confused by the question itself “Because you didn’t say goodbye.”
The simplicity of it hits harder than it should, because he’s right. You didn’t.
Law’s eyes darken, but he doesn’t look away from you “You’re still deciding.”
Kid’s jaw ticks “Tch. Just say it already.”
Luffy just waits, still smiling. Because he already knows.
And suddenly, you realize that so do you.
You inhale. Exhale. And then you turn.
Not to Kid.
Not to Law.
But to Luffy.
His eyes widen slightly, his fingers twitching against your sleeve “Eh?”
Your lips curl into a smirk “Took you long enough to find me, though”
Then he jumps with joy, hugs you tightly and kiss you on the cheek, which shocks you.
Luffy’s arms still wrapping tight around you like he never wants to let go.
Kid curses loudly, wheeling around to storm off, shoving a stunned passerby out of his way “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me.”
Law sighs heavily, running a hand down his face “Honestly.” But there’s no real bitterness in his voice, just understanding. Because they both saw it before you did.
You were never meant to follow. Never meant to stand beside them.
You were meant to run wild and free, with the only captain who never wanted to tame you in the first place.
Luffy pulls back, beaming, his hands still tight around you “So that means you’re coming with me, right?”
“As if you’d let me go.”
He grins.
“Never.”

You Just Do It Better
Summary: There are some things that are better left to you
Characters: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Ace, Sabo, Law, Kid
Genre: Fluff
CW: None // SFW
———
Luffy:
When his hat is in a state of disrepair, as it often is, he now hands it over to you to be fixed. You did it once when he was sound asleep after a fight, and when he woke up, he discovered his most prized possession looked better than it ever had. People are so rarely allowed to touch his hat, but he begs you- puppy dog eyes and all- to fix his hat for him every time it gets damaged. You just do it better.
Zoro:
Why does your sake always taste better? And your beer? And, though he’s loathe to admit it, he’d rather swipe that fruity cocktail you’re drinking than have his own whiskey because whenever you order a drink, it just tastes better. Oh, and when you make it? Forget about drinking it yourself. If you make a drink yourself, be it ice water or hot tea or something with liquor, Zoro will at the very least be stealing a few sips, even if he’s made his own. You just do it better.
Sanji:
Who knew you had such a talent for frosting cupcakes? He takes such pride in cooking for you, never imagined for a moment he would allow you to pick up even a single kitchen utensil. But he had his hands full one day and you took over the cupcakes he’d made upon Luffy’s request, and you did such a beautiful job he didn’t even let the crew eat them. Now, it’s your job to frost any sweets he makes. You just do it better.
Ace:
It’s everything you touch, really. Whether you’re picking out a necklace or seasoning a dish, you just do it better. But most especially, you talk. Whether you’re talking about nothing or speaking on something important, you have a way with words that he simply doesn’t. He always puts his thoughts and feelings through a you filter because however you phrase things is going to be the best way. You just do it better.
Sabo:
You edit his manuscript. He has no shortage of people who could do it for him, people who have real experience doing such things. He could do it himself, too, educated as he is (though he hides it well). But you’re so much better. You know exactly how to read his words and improve on them without changing the underlying point he is trying to make. He even has you read his private journals just for your opinion. You just do it better.
Law:
You put the right words in his mouth for him. Law often stumbles over his words and isn’t the best at communicating his emotions. You have a special talent for reading his emotions and explaining them, so much so that when he has a conflict, he comes to you and you help him piece together the right thing to say so he doesn’t end up snapping and saying something rude (still probably ends up snapping, but it’s not as bad with your help). You just do it better.
Kid:
Applying the soothing gel intended to calm the residual pain in the stub of his arm used to be a private ordeal, the fact that his arm hurt perhaps his most closely guarded secret. But you walked in on him one night and found him in so much pain that you took over despite his protests, and he found the gel worked even better when you massaged it into his arm. Now, he doesn’t even bother trying to do it himself. You just do it better.

One Piece Monster Trio HCs (Both NSFW and SFW)
Luffy-
- He is like a clingy puppy. Alwaysss wanting attention and cuddles from you. He also follows you around the ship or anywhere to make sure your safe (and cause he clingy)
VERY and I mean VERY big on PDA. Why wouldn’t he show the world his amazing partner? Doesn’t matter where you are. The kitchen, his room, a restaurant? Heck, even if you’re on a mission. You’d be on the middle of a fight and Luffy would be like “THATS MY S/O!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO”
Speaking of PDA, he is a BIG cuddler. So if you’re a bit chubby or plus size, he don’t care. Softer the better <3. If you’re not it’s ok too, he’ll carry you around like a damn potato sack (he gonna get lectured by Sanji on hOw yOu shOulD cArRy yOur pArtneR rIght 🤓👆)
Also, you’re the ONLY person he shares his food with. The first time he did it, it shocked you and the other strawhats.
Zoro-
Zoro is the type of boyfriend to be really. really. REALLY protective. A man looking at you in a very suggestive way? That man won’t have eyes no more to look at you like that. Someone tries to flirt with you RIGHT infront of him? Hah. No. He aint having that.
Zoro also lets you watch him train (You sometimes cheer him on and it feeds his ego a bit)
Also he absolutely LOVES to tease Sanji about having an s/o before him
Zoro: Something wrong, lovecook?
Sanji: I hate you so much right now, moss head
Zoro laughs this off as he holds you close to him to make Sanji even more pissed
Sanji
Oh wow someone is interested in him- I mean WOW good for him 😁 (The others are like “How-“)
Well, get ready to be spoiled like a prince/princess and being worshipped like a god/goddess 24/7/365.
He cooks extra food for you (sometimes hides it from Luffy cause he a big back ngl)
He absolutely LOVES pda. Hugging, kissing, and cuddles? Yes please
And when you give him words of affirmation? Someone get Chopper rn before he faints from his nosebleed.
The first time you kisses him he almost passed out (Poor dude lmao)
He LOVESS calling you pet names in french, like mon amour, ma déesse/mon dieu, mon chéri, and mon tresur (my love, my goddess/god, my darling, my treasure)
~~~~~~~~~*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*~~~~~~~~~~~
NSFW
Luffy-
He is DEFINITELY into pussy/dick/ass eating you can NOT convince me otherwise
He also LOVESSSS doggy style or cowgirl style. Just seeing you ride him is the most satisfying thing ever for him
He also loves food play. Specially when you got bits of meat on you, he’ll eat you out and give ya love bites everywhere AND anywhere possible
Dude has unlimited energy and combined with his stamina? Yeah no ya aint walking for the next week
For aftercare, he definitely lovesss cuddles and kisses on the cheek and telling you how happy he is to have someone like you
Zoro-
He is an ass man. 100%. Like can you blame him though? Like damn that thang juicy (if you’re flat its ok. He’s still gonna fuck it <3)
Will probably be really rough.
Also loves degrading you <3
Damn that cock thicc as shit like holy hell- they should call him the 4 sword master with how big that is
Will bend you over any surface when in the mood
Considering he is a swordsman… yeah the stamina is gonna be endless. Good luck walking <3
Speaking of ass, he is probably those kinky dudes who like to slap them booty cheeks while clapping it
For aftercare. There is none. Already asleep (what did you expect from the man who takes like 100 naps a day?)
Sanji
Oh he is gonna make sure it is as romantic and as sweet as possible. Anything for his love ❤️
Definitely loves it whenever you sit on his face so that he can eat you out like the fine meal you are (love yourself <3)
He absolutely HATES the idea of BDSM (he loves you to much to hurt you 😔)
He makes sure to praise you during the whole thing. Making sure you are spoiled and loved absolutely ROTTEN
And if you ride him? Oh he is seeing STARS
For aftercare, he definitely takes a small break of just hugging you and telling you how amazing you are, and then makes a lil snack for you <3 and then says “A snack for MY snack” (ik really corny of him)
Calling Them By Their Full Name
OPLA Headcannons! I thought htis was a funny little thing lol. Anyway enjoy
Warnings: slight mentions of nsfw topics but nothing too serious
Sorry for any spelling errors!
Luffy
Tumblr media
-ohhhhh that did not sound like your usual happy, loving voice.
-he knows he fucked up and now he’s hiding from your wrath.
-“MONKEY D. LUFFY, GET YOUR ASS IN THIS KITCHEN. NOW.”
-you could hear a pen drop from how quiet the ship got
-ok so maybe he ate that super expensive, super special dessert you had been saving for a while now. And like, it was going to go bad! All he wanted was a little taste! Than a taste turned into accidentally eating the whole thing.
-He was gonna tell you, honest! But it had proven obvious you found out before he could. He seen you round the corner with RAGe on your face and tears in your eyes.
-"TRAITOR!" You yell, throwing a tired punch to his chest.
-“I’m sorry mami, I’ll find you another one. Promise.” He hums, peppering your face with kisses, squeezing your face between his palms when he did.
-There’s no way you could stay mad at him for long
Zoro
Tumblr media
-whoa whoa whoa why are you so ANNNGRY
-hated when you call him by his full name like that, makes him feel like a child being reprimanded
-“RORONOA GODDAMN ZORO.” You boom, Nami’s jaw dropping at the sound. Even she could tell you were pissed
-he’s the sassiest mf alive so he’ll probably just be like, “who the hell are talking to woman?!”
-“You’re a real piece of work you know that??” You’re still yelling and he wastes no time rolling his eyes at you and grabbing you by your waist, the action shutting you up.
“Wanna stop yelling and be a big girl and tell me what’s wrong?” He teases, that stupid smirk you love falling over his features at your speechlessness.
-It’s not often you say his full make but when you do he makes sure you’ll never forget it that same night.
-“Say my name baby, real loud.” He groans, a hand around your throat to steady spent body as he slams back into you
Sanji
Tumblr media
-I know thats not a cigarette i smell Vinsmoke Sanji."
-awe hell. Yout tone is deadly. he tried he damndest to stomp it out before you rounded the corner but nope.
-You never use his full name like that. Never.
-did he just get chills?
-"Of course not my love!" He lies throigh his teeth but before he can say anything ese you re lips are on his, you fist gripping the fabric of his shirt.
-He knew he was caught, the taste of tobacco mixing with your usual mint. You pull away, smoothing his shirt out with a warning smile.
-"Don’t lie to me again, I’ll always know when you do, Black Leg." You explain , taking the small cardboard box from his pocket and walking off.
-Even though it was ment as a threat, he couldn't help but feel hotter than ususal. God he loved it when you talked all serious to him.
Bonus: Mihawk
Tumblr media
-You know better than to use his full name. Orr to even call him anything besides the usual endearing pet name.
-So when he hears his name called with nothing short of rage, hes trying to figure out who you think you’re talking to.
-"Dracule. Mihawk." You spit, holding the empty bottle in your hand
-Ok so your rage was warented cause he managed to drink the entire vintage bottle of wine you'd been saving...it wasn’t like it was on purpose!
-He doesn’t even bother to look up from his book, just barely giving you a slight glance when you were right in front of him, pointing to the bottle.
-"Id watch your tone darling." he warns, smirking at the way you purse your lips and turn away with a fierce attitude he'd be sure to deal with later.
-“Oh shove it up your ass Dracule.” You scoff, trying to quicken your pace but failing when he’s already behind you, his much larger hand holding your wrist as you yelp.
-His look says it all. You’re screwed.
-So now you’re sitting pretty, bent over and counting each time his hand meets the sore and slightly reddened flesh of your ass.
-“Now, what’s my name again darling?”
pairing: zoro x f!reader warning: none - but when zoro sees you all dressed up to go undercover, his hardened heart softens, and he realizes he would do anything to protect you
--------------
"Absolutely no way! You and Zoro are going to stay on the Sunny," Nami said firmly, to the pouting Straw Hats Captain.
"And why can't we go?!" Luffy whined. "There's an all you can eat buffet, and I'm hungry!"
"There's gonna be booze, isn't there?" Zoro huffed. He usually didn't care either way, but he for sure wasn't going to back down the chance for free alcohol. Their navigator stood in front of the highest pirate bounties with her hands on her hips, ready to hit them on the head for their gluttony.
"No! This mission is really important - we need information and both of you are going to blow our cover! You," Nami pointed at Zoro, "are going to get lost before you find the booze and you," she pointed at Luffy, "are just loud everywhere you go! This is a super fancy party, with some very high ranking individuals - hopefully we find out what we need, and maybe swipe some goodies on the side."
You happened to come out of the girls' sleeping quarters, hearing the commotion from the crew. Zoro's one eye flickered towards you, and you smiled at him in greeting. But his annoyance was evident as he barely gave you a nod at your appearance.
"What's going on?" You asked in confusion. "What's happening?"
"Ah y/n!" Brook greeted. "May I see your panties?"
BONK.
There was a sharp hit from Sanji who smacked Brook in the back of his skull, yelling at him to stop being so indecent towards you.
"Ah! There you are!" Nami grinned, as she hooked her arm into yours. "We're going to a party! You, me, Usopp and Robin. We've got some work to do, so we're going to have to dress the part. Let's go to my closet!"
-----------------
An hour before the party, Nami descended from the upper deck wearing a very extravagant dress sending Sanji shooting into the air from the pressure of his bloody nose. Robin and Usopp also looked very much the part, but all of this was barely noticed by Luffy and Zoro who were still grumbling about not being able to go for the free meal. The swordsman was brooding against the side of the Sunny, his arm crossed over his broad chest, still annoyed that he was missing out on some quality alcohol.
"Nami where's y/n?" Chopper asked.
"I'm right here, Chopper."
Zoro looked up, and he felt his breath hitch in his throat, as his steel gaze softened at the sight of you descending down the stairs. You were wearing a beautiful flowy evening gown, that highlighted your collar bones with the off shoulder features. Nami had leant you a necklace that she had swiped from their last adventure, and you had hair down in soft curls.
"Oh my," Brook said in admiration, as Chopper had to try and revive an unconscious Sanji. Your hand lightly touched the side rail as you came down to balance yourself.
"Supppper nice," Franky called out. "Y'all are looking super fancy."
"Y/N, you look like a princess!" Chopper gushed, as he tried to fan Sanji awake.
"It doesn't feel like me," you confessed. As you came down halfway, Zoro wasn't aware that his body moved on his own. He had left his spot and met you at the step below the one you were on. He held out his one hand , as the other one sat loosely on the hilt of Enma. You were shocked at his sudden display of protection in a non-battle situation - it was usually Brook or Sanji that would coddle over you. His grey eye was fixed on you, but nothing else from his expression indicated anything else.
"Watch your step," he said gruffly. You flashed him a grateful smile as your fingers gripped his hand, helping you down the rest of the way.
He didn't realize how small your hand was compared to his.
How soft your skin was against his own which was calloused and rough from training and battle.
How tall he was when he towered over you even being a step below you.
How good you smelled as the wind gently caressed your soft locks , catching the fragrance of your shampoo.
"Um Zoro?" Your voice broke his thoughts and he stared down at you.
"Yeah?"
"Um I think I'll be okay, you can let go."
He didn't realize he was still holding your hand, and he slowly dropped your hand, his fingers suddenly cold from the absence of your touch. As Nami was explaining the plan for the evening, and how she would kill Luffy and Zoro if they wandered off, Zoro realized he was not going to heed the navigator's strict instructions.
You were by no means weak, as he caught a flash of your dagger hidden under your dress when you showed Robin and Franky what you were carrying.
You had earned your place with the Straw Hats, and had gotten stronger , especially during their years apart.
But in that moment he realized, that he would do anything to protect you. Whether it was an attack from enemy pirates, marine, warlords - or if someone were to look at you the wrong way, their heads would be gone before they could say "One Piece."
"Zoro?" Your voice pulled him out of his thoughts once more. You were gazing up at him curiously.
"Huh?"
"We're leaving, I'll make sure to bring booze back for you," you teased. A smirk came across his lips and a chuckle escaped his lips.
"Yeah, sure. Just be careful," he reminded you, and you nodded.
"Okay - wait for me then. Or Nami will kill you," you said before walking away, unaware of the swordsman's steel gaze on you and the words that came out in response to your warning.
"Tch - worth it. If it means keeping you safe."
End.
Irrational Fears (Luffy, Sanji, Zoro)
Tumblr media
_____ Pairings: Luffy x Reader; Sanji x Reader; Zoro x Reader Summary: Your fears come to light, but your boyfriend is there to protect you. Warnings: Hurt, comfort, fluff, fears/phobias mentioned at the beginning of each character pairing, Female Reader A/N: Sorry for the lack of uploads, I've been swamped by assessment and exams, I hope you enjoy :) [One Piece Masterlist] [Part 2: Law, Kid, Ace] _____
- Luffy - (Fear of Spiders)
You were in your room, not a care in the world. You were hiding from the raging sun that lay on the deck, relishing the peace that comes from immersing yourself in a book after weeks of fighting; finally, back on the open sea. The pages passed through your fingers like clockwork, and you were lost in the ease and safety the Sunny provided you.
You turn your body to the side, your book falling with you as you do so, but your heart is suddenly torn from leisure as your eyes catch movement beyond the pages you look to.
There is a Spider on your bedside table.
In a blur of moments, your heart drops, eyes darting from your book to the black creature, mere moments away from crawling onto the bed with you. Instantly, cold sweat rises from within you, and your breath is suddenly lost and within you all at the same time.
Before you can help it, you scream.
You rush in a hurry of scrambled movements away from the spider that had been only a few inches away from your head, and your back hits a wall now meters away. But there's not enough space. You can feel its eyes watching you, you can see its creepy being as it moves, and you feel a sickening pool in your gut at the thought of it having been so close.
You know you should move - the door to escape is just a few steps in front of you - but fear has made your limbs useless. You feel your eyes fill with tears, and you find yourself silenced; the only sound is the pounding of your heart as your phobia sets in. Your hands tremble as the spider moves, and you resist the urge to squeeze your eyes shut; you do not want to lose sight of the wretched creature.
God, why now? Why me?
You are so panicked, your heart jumps when the door to your room is suddenly opened.
"[Y/N]!!!"
Your boyfriend bursts through your now-opened door, eyes wide and frantic and breath light as though he rushed to get to you.
Because, well, he had.
When Luffy had been sitting on his figurehead as he always does, with the cool breeze on his face and the peace of the open sea, the last thing he expected was an unfamiliar scream bringing him into motion. Unfamiliar because Luffy was not used to you being so alarmed; he was not used to hearing the echoes of your voice catch onto fear.
Luffy swears his heart had almost fallen to his feet when he heard your scream, and despite other crewmembers looking up in surprise and concern. They were no match for the speed of your boyfriend as he travelled quickly to the deck and disappeared in a blur of movements to your side.
The entirety of the ten seconds it took for him to get to you, his heart had paced his chest in worry, but now, as he witnesses your tearful eyes and the way you seem to try to hide within the walls, his worry only increases tenfold. This was you, [y/n], one of the strongest women he knew, and he felt a flare of protectiveness as he witnessed a sight he was not used to: you, scared.
"[y/n], what's wrong?" His voice is rushed, soft hands reaching for you, eyes searching yours for the cause of the dread he sees etched within them. His heart pounds.
Was someone here?
Did someone threaten you?
Who does he need to beat up?
What does he need to protect you from?
His eyebrows pull together as he watches you, the love of his life, try to form words. But it is then that he realises your eyes seem distant, not in an emotional way, but you had been staring past him, not meeting his gaze for some time now. And you know you should feel embarrassed, but you do not find it in yourself to hesitate when you raise a shaky hand towards the direction of your bed-side table.
"[y/n]?"
The Spider.
"L-Lu, please, can you g-get rid of it?"
Your voice is soft but trembles under your fear, a few tears slip past your cheeks, and it breaks your boyfriend's heart to see you that way. His eyebrows furrow in confusion when he sees you gesture in the direction of your bed, and he witnesses the creature you were so afraid of. In normal instances, he feels as though he would've laughed, but when he looks to see you, looking at him tearfully, in need of help, all he wants to do is reassure and protect you.
He quickly goes to your bedside, tilting his head at the creature as though waiting for it to protest to its removal before grabbing it swiftly between his hands. "I'll be back!" He quickly runs from the room, leaving you in silence, but returns shortly after with the absence of the creature in his hands. You finally feel yourself take a breath, and a rush of heat travels to your cheeks.
"Thanks, Lu..."
You murmur, unable to meet his eyes, but all you hear is your boyfriend's laugh, and all you feel is his warmth as he travels up to you, wrapping an arm around you tightly. It causes you to look up, and his grin is so bright and proud it rivals the sun.
"It's okay [y/n], you don't have to worry about Spiders when you're with me. I'll protect you!"
- Sanji - (Fear of Heights)
God, how did you get yourself into this situation? Maybe it was the lack of thinking, or the barrage of enemies that rushed you into movement, but now, in the middle of a dense forest, you found yourself stuck atop an abnormally high tree.
You sigh shakily as you look down at the forest floor, instantly regretting your decision to do so; it seems eons away. You feel sickness fill you and sweat promptly rises across your body, along with a flush that reaches your cheeks. You were a Strawhat, for God's sake, and yet you could not seem to move. Your hands burned at the tightness you held the trunk, bark etching itself onto your skin, and courage was a distant being to you.
Panic invades your senses, and your breath comes to you in short and shaky increments. You didn't know where your friends were, and you didn't want to call out, only for them to see you in no real danger, but lost in your head because of your irrational fear. Irrational. But to you, it was perfectly rational; to you, it felt as though you were on the brink of falling to your death.
Your mind scrambles, in a haze of wanting relief from the stress and the fear, but also in knowing you would likely get laughed at if you were ever found. Luckily for you, however, you hear the voice of one man, who you think will save you from turmoil. A voice calling to you, that took on a worried edge, most likely because of the onslaught of enemies that separated you from him.
"[y/n]!! Love, where are you?"
You find your boyfriend's familiar figure, his blond hair travelling far beneath you. Instantly, you feel queasy at the sight of him so far from you, and you force your eyes to face forward once more. But you don't know if you have the voice to reply.
"Love?!"
But you have to.
"S-," your voice is lost for a moment, but the tears that fill your eyes seem to encourage you to shout out to him; your fears are too much to bear. "Sanji!! I'm up here!"
You find solace in the fact that your voice stayed strong, and didn't give way to the tremors that invaded your body.
"Love?" Sanji's eyes instantly dart upwards, relief filling him in an instant at the sight of you unharmed. You were far up the breadth of an extremely tall tree, and Sanji could only imagine that you were rushed up the branches in the pursuit of safety from the enemies that had swarmed you.
Your boyfriend almost laughs out in ease, but his senses seem to pick up on your distress and the way you stand so rigid and unmoving, even when there is no adversary near.
"Love, you can come down now, there's no one here."
You hear the ringing of Sanji's voice in your ears, but again when you look down, you are instantly regretful, eyes looking sharply upwards and trying to contain your cries and embarrassment. You feel the branches creak at your movements, the breeze ruffles your hair slightly, and you hold tighter and unwavering.
"Love?"
Another swift breeze has you clutching onto the trunk of the tree like your life depended on it. More tears slip past your lashline, and you can't hide the way you are so afraid anymore. Sanji's brows come together in concern and worry, his heart beating faster as he realises you are so distressed. The love of his life, afraid.
"Love-"
"I-I can't! It's too high! Sanji- I can't-"
Sanji's heart drops sharply as he hears the trembling of your words falling from your mouth. He can practically feel the pain of the bark etching itself on your skin, can see the way you are so static and unmoving, can see your tears that threaten to break his heart. Never had he seen you so distressed, so scared of something before. Never had he acted so quickly to one's words.
Instantly, Sanji moves, kicking at the air in a rush to get to your side and reassure you.
"Don't worry, love, I'll come get you."
"Sanji..."
Only a second passes and you open your eyes from when you have fought to keep them tightly shut. You feel the pain in your limbs after being so rigid and stubborn, but you have yet to feel the relief that comes with safety. You can scarcely see past your tears, but Sanji's gaze reflects one of worry, as he caresses your face and catches the teardrops that run along them.
"I've got you, love."
Quickly, he gathers you into his arms, and you squeeze your eyes shut once more as you feel his gentle hands prying you into his chest. You only feel your fear start to fade when you feel your boyfriend's arms wrap themselves around you, in a cocoon of his scent and safety and warmth. Sanji doesn't feel his worry fade as he still feels light tremors travel through your skin.
When you are finally both on solid ground, you open your eyes slowly, a deathly grip still on your boyfriend. You meet worried eyes and try to smile sheepishly, fighting embarrassment as you wipe your tears frantically from your face. "S-sorry Sanji, guess that was stupid huh, afraid of heights, what a-" But Sanji quickly cuts you off with a gentle smile and the caress of hair that has fallen to your face.
"Love, it's not stupid, you were afraid, and that's okay. Everyone gets scared sometimes."
You still feel hesitant even under his love-lorn gaze, and the flickers of his eyes as he admires you, and relishes in the feeling of having been able to save you from your dread.
"But-"
"No matter what, I'll protect you, love."
- Zoro - (Fear of Enclosed Spaces)
"Take them away."
You grit your teeth at how the men behind you handle you harshly; their fingers gripping tightly onto the flesh of your arms. You do not turn, but you hear your boyfriend being treated the same, despite a lack of struggle on both of your parts. You don't exactly know how the two of you had gotten into this predicament, but Nami had told you both to surrender if ever captured; there was an easier escape route from the dungeons.
You try to contain your want to wrench free from grasps and show the men behind you what you are truly capable of, but you know (and Zoro knows) that this place was the primary breadth of enemy territory, and in doing so, it would be almost impossible to find a way out. You are both escorted through hallways and down several flights of stairs, the whole time you can feel your boyfriend's eyes trained on how the guards handle you. But finally, the men slow down and you find yourselves in what you are supposed to be the dungeons.
Supposed, because instead of jail cells, what greeted you was rows of metal doors.
You try to ignore the increased thrumming in your heart and try to stay voiceless when the men start to mutter about the cells you and Zoro would be confined to. You had been expecting metal bars and open spaces, not a metal box to be confined to. But before you can say anything, the guards move once more, opening a metal door before shoving both you and your boyfriend into the small space.
"W-wait-"
But the guards slammed the door shut and you were stuck in essentially, a box, where there was just enough space for the two of you to sit, and only just tall enough for the two of you to stand. The only light was the thin lines that seep in from the edges of the door, and the only sound is a humming sound and a soft breeze you knew to be air that was blown into the space.
Air, and yet you seem to forget how to breathe.
Zoro groans as he sits on the floor, but you remain standing, suddenly static on your feet. A harsh dread has kicked in, and as your eyes dart around the dark and enclosed space, sweat rises on your skin and your heartbeat burns against your chest. There is a panic, an indescribable phobia that fills you, as your trembling hands reach the coldness of metal that surrounds you, your eyes darting every which way to try to find an opening in the space around you.
Your boyfriend, unfazed and simply waiting on the crew to notice their absence and save them, is ignorant of the silent fears that your mind has entrapped you in. But he still feels you tense and standing next to him, and he furrows his eyebrows, confused.
"Oi, sit down woman. They're gonna be a while."
But you do not move, you can barely hear or accept his reassurances. Your panic flares wilder as you think of being entrapped in this space for a long period of time. Instantly you move into action, anxiety coursing through your veins. The chains around your wrists clatter noisily as trembling hands travel the metal box, breath coming in more laboured increments and trying to stop the sobs that want to break free. A rush of tears has fallen past your eyes, and all of a sudden Zoro is all too aware of you, the love of his life, in turmoil.
"Oi, wo-, [y/n], what's wrong?"
His voice is urgent, tense as if he doesn't notice a danger you are all too aware of. But now you can't control the way your breathing is beyond you, and your cries fall more freely from your lips.
"Z-Zoro, I can't- we- we have to find a way out. Zoro please, I can't stay here, I can't-"
Zoro's heart drops at the pain that is etched in your voice, at your pleading and your fear that entwines itself with your words. He cannot see much but he feels the frantic of your trembling movements, the way the woman he considered strongest in the world, crumbled beneath the weight of the metal room they were confined to.
"[y/n]..."
"Z-Zoro," your voice is etched with the weight of your tears, and though you think you should be embarrassed that a strong fighter such as you, crumbles in an enclosed space, those thoughts are beyond you. You just need to get out.
"Zoro, please- please I can't-"
Instantly, calloused hands reach for yours, and Zoro's worry increases tenfold as he feels the way you tremble beneath his gentle hold. You fight the fear that invades your senses as you feel your boyfriend pull your muttering form to the ground next to him and into his warm embrace. More tears spill as you feel one of Zoro's arms encircle you as though to shield you from what burdens you. You let out a gasping breath, feeling as though you were drowning in your fears.
"Z-Zoro..."
You bury your head into his chest and close your eyes tight as if to try and pretend that the two of you were just on the Sunny, lying in the comforts of your chambers. Zoro's heart aches against his chest at the feeling of you curling up against him, small and afraid of something he cannot save you from. He grits his teeth harshly as he thinks of the unknown amount of time the two of you may be stuck here for.
Soothing circles are splayed on your skin, a gentle murmur of words in the silence but still you keep your eyes shut and try to match your boyfriend's breathing.
"It's fine, woman. Nothing hurts you, as long as I'm here, remember?"
Zoro's voice is gruff in the ringing silence of the room, and if there was light and if you weren't so afraid, you would notice the blush on his cheeks as he murmurs his words to you. But instead, you feel his words cure the racing of your heart and slow the rate of your tears cascading down your face. You nod into him, relishing his warmth and strength and scent. Zoro merely holds you to him tighter.
You do not know the length of time that passes until Nami and Chopper appear from beyond the metal door, harsh light invading your senses. But all you know is that your boyfriend was quick to silently offer you a hand, never speaking of the fear that had reduced you to tears, but providing a gesture that silently promised he would protect you, from whatever you needed him to protect you from.
Hi, I was wondering if you could do Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji (separately) X Reader, and it's of them already in a relationship, and kind of based on the trend on TikTok, Reader calls them "Buddy" to see their reaction?
hi!! sorry this took so long, i just returned from a trip and didn’t have much time to write at all last week. thanks for the request, this was so fun to write! this was my first time writing short drabbles like this, but i hope i captured the boys’ reactions well :)
Tumblr media
“Buddy”
Pairings: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji x Reader (separate)  Tags: sfw, fluff, established relationship, GN but written with F!Reader in mind, no use of y/n
Tumblr media
Sanji
The lid to the peanut butter jar was exceptionally tight that morning.
You glanced at Sanji, who was trying and failing to prevent his lips from turning up into a mischievous smirk. You rolled your eyes as a small huff escaped your mouth.
Did he seriously think you wouldn’t catch on to his little schemes? You had long been aware that he’d sometimes purposefully tighten the lids to all of the jars in the kitchen just so you would ask him for help.
After struggling for a good few seconds, you finally relented and passed the jar to him, “Open this for me, please?”
Sanji beamed at you, “Why, of course, dearest! With pleasure.”
He popped the lid open with ease and handed the jar back to you.
You took it gratefully but couldn’t resist the temptation of getting back at him in some way. So, as you walked away, you patted his shoulder and said lightly, “Thanks, buddy!”
You instantly regretted it when you saw Sanji’s crestfallen expression, “...Buddy?”
He looked like he was close to tears as he searched your face, “A-are you mad at me? Is this about the jars? I promise I won't do it aga–”
His small voice broke you and you immediately rushed back to him, “Oh sweetheart, no, I’m just joking!”
You planted a kiss on his cheek, “I’m sorry, honey.” You moved your lips to his other cheek, “Baby.” To his forehead, “Darling.”
He let out a relieved sigh at the return of your usual repertoire of nicknames, before squishing your cheeks in between his hands, “Don’t ever call me buddy again. Please.”
You chuckled, “Yes, my love.”
He nodded, satisfied at your answer, before leaning in and melding his lips to yours in the sweetest kiss.
Zoro
“Hey, can you pass me the towel?”
You were sitting on the bench of the crow’s nest, quietly reading your book as Zoro spent hours after hours working out. This was the first instance that he had spoken to you in all that time, which was no surprise, really. You knew that he took his workout very seriously.
But, you couldn’t deny that it still annoyed you to no end that he had not glanced even once in your direction this whole time, despite this being one of the rare moments that the two of you could spend alone onboard this rowdy ship.
“Sure.” You reached for the towel beside you and tossed it in his direction, “Here you go, buddy!”
“Thank–” Zoro started to reply before he registered your words. He looked at you, his face contorted in what you could only describe as disgust, “Ha?!”
You smirked at how readily he took your bait, watching him closely as he wiped off his sweat and stalked toward you. He placed his hands on the bench on either side of you, caging you in as he bent forward to bring his face close to yours, “What did you just call me?”
“What, you don't like my new nickname for you, buddy?” You taunted, fully realizing that this would piss him off even further.
“Oh, am I your buddy, now?” He pressed his body even closer to yours, an intense look in his eyes as he said, “Well, would a buddy do this, then?”
Your heart danced in victory when his lips finally captured yours in a hungry kiss, and you wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him down onto the bench.
Maybe you should rile him up more often.
Luffy
Luffy was sitting at his usual spot at the figurehead when you approached him.
The conversation you had with Nami earlier still plagued your mind. She had told you that men hated to be called “buddy” by their significant other, but you were pretty sure that Luffy wouldn’t mind at all. He had liked all of the nicknames you gave him so far, no matter how ridiculous they were. She laughed and disagreed, telling you that Luffy was a man after all, and there was no way he would not be affected in some way.
So, that’s how you ended up climbing the stairs to the figurehead, on your way to test Nami’s theory.
“Hey, buddy!” You called out to Luffy.
His head tilted in confusion as he turned to face you, before replying uncertainly, “Hey to you too… buddy.”
Well, how the table had turned. You didn’t expect him to call you "buddy” back. And you didn’t like it. At all.
“Ugh.” You groaned as you sat down beside him, “Forget that. Please don’t call me buddy.”
He pouted, “Hey, you said it first!”
You chuckled and caressed his cheek, your thumb lightly grazing over his scar, “My bad, turned out I don’t like it when you called me that.”
“Well, I don’t like it either.” He shrugged as he admitted, “It made me feel like I was just your friend. And I’m not… right?”
So Nami was right. It did affect him.
“You’re right, I’m sorry." You smiled, somehow filled with a strange satisfaction, as you pulled him in for a quick kiss, "You're definitely more than just my buddy, Lu.”
You kept his face close to yours as you said, “I promise I won’t call you buddy ever again if you promise not to call me buddy too.”
Luffy laughed before closing the gap between you again, “Deal!”
