Phantom letters - DPXDC PROMPT
The bats wake up one day to the internet going crazy; people around the world were getting letters from they're diseased loved ones. The reactions are mixed, from people being outraged for the "prank" to people crying in melancholy at getting closure.
All the letters have something in common: They're closed with a green sealing wax that had an stylize DP and the name Phantom beneath it. Posts about the cards were using the # Phantom Letters.
The bats are discussing the viral posts in the cave when Alfred comes holding a basket filled with letters, announcing they were left at the doors. The letters had the sealing wax that they recognize from the posts. Checking the cameras they can see how they glitch before the basket appears.
Alfred starts to distribute the letters that had only one destinatary. Letters from each Thomas and Martha to both Bruce and Alfred. Letters from each John and Mary to Dick. A letter from Catherine to Jason. A letter from the Drake's to Tim, and another one to Bruce.
Once they had calmed down enough from the shock, Alfred proceeded to read the shared recipients. From Thomas and Martha to "The grandchildren we never got to meet." From John and Mary to "the family that took our little Robin in." Letters from Catherine to "My little boys family." The letters were directed to people the deceased didn't get to meet.
As much as the mere existence of the letters tugged at their hearts, they decided to not read them until they verified that the handwriting actually belong to the ones it claimed. They checked each letter, and in the end confirmed the letters were in fact from they're lost love ones.
After much discussion, each person makes the decision to read they're own letters later in private, and they proceed to read the ones that shared recipients out loud. The letter mentioned specifics like names and events that the deceased shouldn't have been able to know, including they're vigilante abilities, which had them pause each time to panic a bit. But what was more interested were certain pieces of the letters that mentioned a Prince Phantom.
"Prince Phantom said to don't mention things past our death, but it wasn't a command, so we're hoping this won't be much of a problem." - John and Mary
"I still can't believe Prince Phantom is letting us do this, but I'm so glad." - Catherine
It finally paints the mystery in a more concerning light when at the end of Thomas and Martha's letter there is a call for help.
"We're sorry for ending the letter on a serious tone, but seeing the kind of job you all get involved in, we wanted to ask: Could you please help Prince Phantom? Phantom had asked us to not give information about this, but he's so young, and has already been hurt so much. Please, check on Amity Park, Illinois."
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
Meanwhile, team Phantom has decided that they needed to get the news about the GIW out of Amity and ask for help. Two problems:
the GIW blocks any technological attempt made.
People might be afraid to learn that ghosts exist and side with the GIW.
As a way to deal with the public image, Phantom opens a possibility that the death have never had:
"All afterlives are open to write letters to their love ones that are still alive today. Nothing that includes threats, and don't go talking about the anti-ecto acts or Amity Park yet, we're trying to ease people into our existence first. Also, I know you all check on your love ones when the veil is thin, but please keep the things you shouldn't know out of the letters if possible. If you want your letter to be sent in the first batch, make sure to deliver your letter before the week ends."
Letters are a good way to reconnect people with the death, they aren't digital, and the GIW won't be able to intercept letters if they're send through inter-dimensional portals. Two birds in one shot.

What were Narinder and the Lamb’s reactions to finding out they’re having kids?
Tumblr media
It was definitely… unexpected
The lamb had been under the weather for some time, so begrudgingly visited Kallamar at the medical tent by Narinder’s demand.
At first it was a joke by Kallamar that the Lamb do a pregnancy test after they came back clean as a whistle, but this did spark the idea in the Lamb’s head of “what if?”
So two or so days later, they got their answer
Don’t worry Kallamar was fine

Friendly reminder that Athena and Hera rebelled against Zeus in a full fucking coup and defied him again in the Iliad and still live in all honors in Olympus. Zeus never went further than empty threats with either of them.
Let that sink in

I don't know what possessed me to draw this, and I don't know who this character will be... but I love her.
I'm picturing her as a folk musician from some fantasy island nation, but that's likely to change at some point since I'm still world building.
(Image Description: a digital drawing of an unnamed original fantasy character. She is a fat woman with light brown skin, dark hair and eyes, and a hooked nose. She is wearing a pinkish-purple head wrap, a white sleeveless shirt, a dark brown skirt with an over-layer similar in colour to the head wrap, and tan sandals. The woman has a bright, open smile on her face, and is holding a drum in one hand and banging on it with the other. End Image Description.)
(@fatphobiabusters @timidsketch I hope it's okay to tag you all! I'm kinda counting this as an entry to FLAugust's Music prompt.)

A wooden statue of the priest Baozhi, transforming into the Eleven-Headed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva upon reaching nirvana. 11th century, Heian Period. Currently on display at the Kyoto National Museum. The Eleven-Headed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is a form of the Bodhisattva who represents compassion. This figure has one main head and ten smaller heads, which symbolize the ability to see and understand the suffering of all beings. Each head represents a different way the Bodhisattva perceives the world, showing compassion in various forms.

The thing that gets me about history and humanity is that you never know what is immortalized, and the things that will be immortalized are things you would never think.
I saw a person sharing a new tattoo, and it was one of Onfim's drawings. A boy who lived so long ago he is barely a blip now, but his drawings meant so much to people that somebody is now permanently marked in their skin with one of those drawings. Do you ever look at the things you make and just sit there and wonder if this is the thing that future people look at? Do you ever look at your art, your writing, your schoolwork, or anything that is yours and just wonder who will find it, who will fall in love with a piece of your humanity and become overwhelmed with emotion over? It's not unlikely. It's not totally unlikely that somebody will find a piece of you in the distant future and devoid of any other context of who you were will still love you because you were here. You were here, and you are still here, even hundreds or thousands of years later. Treat yourself with the same love that so many have for dear Onfim.

I feel practically exploitative re: you posting all this Morty art; do you have a tip jar or anything?? Like the girlies are DEVOURING IT, I just feel rude continuously asking for more

(hey I remembered csp has proper comic options! my shit will now be Legible. yippee, etc.)
ahhh ya'll r too kind...I do have an ancient kofi somewhere but do NOT feel pressured to do anything with that, these r just fun doodles, for Fun. Trust me when I say if I did not want to do something it would Not Get Done. If I ever got a request I didn't like I would simply say 'not for me, sorry!' and there would be no hard feelings.
BUT. since you asked. top non-monetary forms of compensation are:
a) reblogs with tags/comments (I do little happy dance every time notification number goes up, double that if there's incoherent screaming involved. ya'll are doing great on that front i'm having so much fun already :3c ) b) oc/personal canon interaction. I have 200+ named ocs, fandom and original. most of the fandom ones are involved in relatively extensive plots. ask me if they know canon characters. ask me stupid shit. ask me plot questions. ask them questions. whatever. you're here from 40k so juno and her gang would be the group of interest. I have 17k words worth of stuff for her already written, they're just not posted bc they're not chronological within the overarching plot. but just in case you needed proof for how insane i Can and Will be given the chance. c) if you want me to love u forever and ever, giving me any excuse to talk about Z will do that!!! He is a non-fandom oc but he is designed for crossover stuff so he's around. Right now he's. Uh. [checks notes] terrorizing nightlords. i think.

I got the latest issue of the "GameStar" magazine (the article itself was already published online two months ago apparently, but the hard copy came out three weeks ago), which had a few pages about Veilguard (and a review of the whole series), and while it didn't include any new information, I thought the final "personal opinion" piece by the author was really sweet, so I wanted to share it on here, too. (The author is this magazine's editor-in-chief, who was one of the journalists who got to see the full one-hour presentation of Veilguard at Summer Game Fest. I tried to translate it as best as I could. :3)
Tumblr media
"Dragon Age means the world to a lot of my colleagues. To my co-worker Alex Schneider, the artbooks are pretty much part of his office equipment, Heiko's boss Rae can basically quote the prequel novels from memory — backwards —, and my co-worker Steffi rushes through the hallways like a vacuum cleaner every time there is the tiniest new piece of rumor about Dragon Age to "absorb". I am more lukewarm about it. Yes, I've played Dragon Age Origins multiple times and enjoyed it very much, but Thedas was always too theatrical and not believable enough of a world for me to really get immersed in it. So the fact that even I walked out after the one-hour presentation thinking: "Damn, when is my flight back home, I need to (re)play the whole trilogy again!" - that's saying something. Again: The Veilguard still has a lot to prove. That it knows how to fill its world in a meaningful way, that its mechanics offer enough depth and most of all: That it tells a good story. But during my conversation with Corinne, every second felt like I was talking with people that understand exactly what made Dragon Age so good. The kick-off to Veilguard is as brilliant as it is intense, sparks curiosity for its world and amidst all the action, it doesn't forget to show a bit of heart. Whatever comes out of it after its release: For years Bioware hasn't looked as promising as it does now."
I also got the "PC Games" magazine, but that one had even less information than GameStar, even though they put it on the cover? :/ (Had to buy it anyway of course, because it has Dragon Age on it 🤡❤️)
