Only for Jazz to be like “boo I knew about your fuckedupness from the start”

One thing I find so interesting is how in book 19, Cassie’s reckoning comes at the realization she may have leaped after Jake said to back off. When she had permission, she didn’t feel responsibility.

I mean, that's Jake's whole dang role on the team, isn't it? As Marco puts it "No votes. Jake decides. Then if it goes bad, we can all blame him" (#25). As with every Marco line ever, he's both joking and... not. Throw in all the times he sarcastically calls Jake "Dad", as a way of calling out someone else for treating Jake like a dad, and it's clear Marco gets it.

That is the point of Jake. He gives the order, and thus neither Ax (who pulled the lever) nor Marco (who made the call) has the blood of 17,000 yeerks on their hands. It's only Jake's crime. Jake gave the order, and so not only can Cassie (in #50) and Rachel (in #47) blame him for David, but he can go ahead and blame himself (#41). Jake gave the order, and so Ax did not actually run from battle (#26). Jake gave the order, and so Marco did not actually let his mom die (#30).

He's their water-carrier, their scapegoat. He doesn't want to be, but someone has to do it.

Gotham is a city with a lot of ambient ectoplasm, enough that the Fentons move here instead of Amity Park. Danny being a pretty smart kid being the son of 2 scientists gets a scholarship to Gotham academy where he makes friends with Tim and Damian. Well the 2 were only doing it at first because they wanted to keep an eye on them scientists rarely didn’t become rouges in Batman’s gallery so can you really blame them for being cautious?

Danny is telling them about the portal that they were trying to build and how it wasn’t working and how Danny felt guilty about it. The 3 venture down there when the parents are gone and Danny wearing his hazmat goes into the portal while the other 2 watch on. Danny trips and no one’s having a good time.

They decided to take Danny to Wayne manor until they can figure out what exactly happened to him, unfortunately Danny’s new powers act up and he winds up phasing through the floor into the basement… or more accurately the Bat cave.

#why do you need this many legs sir #toedscruel #woah holy shit i just looked outside and it's super dark out. i'm queuing this up at noon why is it so dark #lemme look #yeah it's. dark. there's a bunch of dark evil clouds in the sky lookin like it's gonna storm oh i just heard thunder yeah it's gonna storm #uh oh. good thing i'm queueing this guy up before the storm so my power doesn't go out. this happens frequently #anyway toedscruel. it's definitely an evolution of toedscool. it definitely looks like tentacruel #if it's a different pokémon why does it evolve into something so suspiciously similar. i can understand wigglet and wugtrio being #different pokémon. just based on how different they are from diglett and dugtrio. even though their names are a typo away #but this guy is. it. really should've just been a regional form‚ i think #unrelated‚ but on random occasions seemingly whenever someone new finds the blog and reads my tags #i'll occasionally get folks asking me how i type commas in the tags #the answer is that this character → ‚ ← is not a comma. it just looks identical to a comma because of tumblr's font #it's actually a lower quotation mark. so for a language that does ‚this kind’ of quotation marks #and i use it as a comma because i have a fancy linguist keyboard that can type all kinds of fancy symbols. and it's easily accessible #some of my favorites include the single-character ellipse: …#the degrees symbol: º and °#small A: ª #fractions: 1⁄2 2⁄3 1⁄4 etc #and obviously IPA symbols and various diacritics‚ so that i can type the word pokémon without having to copy-and-paste the E #currency symbols‚ too. £¢$§¥ euro is on here somewhere but i don't know where bc i don't use that one really #i just like being able to type things the way they're supposed to be. like it's 80º outside. the stopwatch costs 15¢ in the shop #and‚ of course‚ pokémon. it's the linguistics and computer 'tism combining together i think #it's storming harder now but i found the euro symbol: €#oh fuckin hell my lights just flickered. this is gonna be rough..!

It was great! I loved Pomni and Gummigoo. Who doesn't enjoy tapping into some good ol' existential dread? Pomni comforting him and sharing her own feelings with him was sooooo sweet! And of course I was furious when Caine blipped him out of existence. I new it was coming but by god was it still upsetting. That was probably the point tho lol

And JAX. Ohhh boy, he was about as chaotic as I expected he'd be and I loved every second he was on screen!! Just look at him! The bloodlust in his eyes is Tangible

Ragatha and Kinger had some wonderful sweet moments too. I'm so happy that Kinger seems to have a wise father figure situation going on, even if he's forgetful and not always mentally present. The vibes are so good there

Overall, an excellent episode and I already can't wait for the next one!
