Can i just say, cuz i saw the tag and it’s bothering me a little (as a lover of history)
Yes Japan allied with germany in world ward II, but they didn’t really do it because they agreed with germany. Like i’m not giving Japan a pass on anything they’ve done (they’re very much a coloniser as well)
But Japan joined germany out of anger a spit not out of shared ideology. Japan was angry they got short shafted after world war I where they fought alongside the allied forced and helped win some major battles, and then when it came to making a peace treaty they got nothing.
They didn’t get any labd like britian, france and the USA.
They didn’t even really get invited to be a part of the peace treaty like other countries on the winning side.
Japan joined Germany more out of frustration than being actual fascists. Like, yes. Their country has gone a really sort of terrible way in terms of government and they did commit a lot of war crimes and murder for the sake of getting rid of people they deemed ‘beneath them’
But had the other allied countries shown them even an ounce of respect after world war I maybe they would have stayed on their side.

Soulful Jewel- (Yandere!Sesshomaru x Reader) pt 3
Tumblr media
Warnings: yandere relationship, yandere temper, yandere behavior, hurt, betrayal, confrontation, rage, aggressive behavior, yandere behavior, blood, fighting, arguing, not proofread (I probably should get a proofreader at some point)
~~~~~~~~
"So, do you have a big animal form, Lady (Y/n)?"
You glanced over at the little girl that sat on the back of Ah-Un as your group of mismatched ends traveled together. Rin had always been good company during your travels and always seemed to know when you got too lost in your mind and needed a way out. Ever since your mutual Lord both claimed and showed his interest and power over you, you had found yourself feeling more attached to the dog demon.
Despite the less than kind way he had approached you about the subject, you felt an inherent need to stay near him. It felt as if you were bound to him in more ways than one even as you traveled with him and his group. From returning you to life after your sacrifice, to teaching you how to be a demon in feudal Japan, Sesshomaru had done more to help you than hurt you overall.
Now you were pulled from your thoughts by the innocent enough inquiry of the little girl you sacrificed your old life for. It was a good question, did you have an animalistic form? She had spoken about Sesshomaru's dog form several times prior and it made you wonder if you would have a similar fox form. There was also a chance that your form could become less human as you aged and the animalistic features would show through your humanoid form then.
"I don't know, Rin. I think it could be possible."
"Well, why don't you try it now? I'm sure if you try, you could-"
It was then Sesshomaru actually spoke up, Rin quickly silencing herself to hear what he had to say.
"It is still too early in her growth as a demon to attempt such a thing. Should she try and actually succeed she will likely become feral with power and instinct. It is not something to attempt lightly and without good reason."
"Oh," Rin started, "okay, M'Lord!"
It was while Rin was turned to look ahead that you caught a scent on the wind that stopped you in your tracks. Something was painfully familiar about this scent and it made a mixture of emotions well up inside of you, bringing with it a rush of energy that seemed to hum within you. memories came unbidden to the front of your mind as they flashed and played in short clips.
Kagome smiling at you by the campfire.
Songo polishing her giant boomerang.
Shippo curled up against Kirara's side.
Miroku cooking up fish.
Inuyasha training fiercely.
Each memory sent emotions flooding your senses, but they were all overshadowed by pain and with that pain came anger. A burning and broiling rage filled you as you remembered all the injustices done against you by the group and that rage poisoned your mind. The faintest of burns came from where you keep your soul made jewel as you felt a change overcome you.
You heard a voice somewhere near you, but that seemed to be so distant from your mind that you couldn't even focus on what it was saying. All you felt was rage and all you could hear was the blood pounding in your ears. Nothing mattered beyond reaching the source of your pain and putting an end to it.
It wasn't long before you were racing through the forest, headed towards those familiar scents with nothing more than rage on your mind. There was little sound that met your ears other than the profound snapping of branches from your vicious flight forward. A clearing was coming closer as you raced forward, but the moment you burst into the opening another creature slid before you.
A white dog-demon with a purple crescent moon in the center of his forehead snarled at you in warning, his fangs bared and head low. Beyond the dog demon's figure stood a surprised group and their simple presence made a furious growl erupt from within. The dog demon looked over at whatever it was you were snarling at and some kind of understanding seemed to dawn upon him as he turned back to you.
"Enough, (y/n), the human woman isn't worth this rage."
"That bitch left me for dead! I have a right to confront her!"
"As your mate I am demanding you stand down. Back off, (y/n)."
"Never."
He actually seemed surprised at your snarled response and refusal to back down, his demonic aura lessening as his form began to shift back. The group behind the two of you actually reacted now to Sesshomaru who still stood with his back turned to them. Inuyasha was first to draw his blade and prepare for a fight with his elder brother.
"Stand down, half-breed. The vixen doesn't need you or your human pet angering her further."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
It was then you cut in, your voice raw and full of pain. Now the group could hear you as well and it was clear the sound of your voice unsettled them.
"It means you killed me! And when you were done you bastards just left me there! You all deserve the same treatment you gave me!"
"Why the hell do you sound like (y/n)? Answer me damn it!"
"Because I am (y/n)!"
It was then a blue flame surrounded you and you easily leaped past Sesshomaru, ready to dig your teeth into Inuyasha. But as you snapped your fangs, another weight pulled you back. Sesshomaru was back in his dog demon form and was preventing you from letting your rage take control. Even as you struggled to free yourself and felt all of your frustrations mounting, you couldn't escape the larger and more experienced dog demon.
Despite how he didn't seem to believe you at first, Inuyasha took a quick sniff and as the scent registered to his brain the blade fell from his hand. His response told the others that your words were true as they all now looked at your angrily struggling form, trying desperately to snap them with your fangs but unable to move beyond the limited range Sesshomaru gave you. Even as you struggled and cried out, you began to exhaust yourself.
"She's a demon..? But how? That doesn't even make any sense, she died-!"
"Inuyasha," Kagome now spoke, her eyes wide with sorrow and disbelief, "her chest. She- she has the full Shikon jewel!"
"Wait, but what about those shards you have? How does she have them?"
"I still have them right here! But how can she have..?"
You continued to struggle against Sesshomaru's hold, finding yourself unable to break away from the demon dog. Eventually your form began to melt back into what it had been prior. Were you had seen paws with the same white-prismatic color fur that your hair now was, they returned to hands. The muzzle you could see clearly in your peripheral sunk back into the form of your regular nose. Even the size that you had gained began to lessen until you were easily pinned by a paw from Sesshomaru's dog form. He too returned to his other form, continuing to keep you down and preventing you from reaching the group you once called your friends.
"Wait," Songo now spoke, her boomerang falling from her hands as she refused to try and fight you, "do you think she did the same as the first priestess who created the Shikon jewel? Could it be possible she created one too the day she died? It could make sense, but it doesn't explain why she is a demon now..."
"It doesn't matter, we can take it now."
Even as your will to fight receded, your rage still burned poisonously as you growled and snarled towards the group. Before they could react, Sesshomaru snapped at them, his tone more irritated and enraged than you had ever heard it before.
"Keep your filth-covered claws off, Inuyasha. She created that jewel with her sacrifice, it is not yours to freely take. I am keeping this vixen from slaughtering those she valued as a human, do not think for a second I will not allow her to act on her justly formed rage should you try to take what is not yours."
Inuyasha almost seemed like he was going to try and argue or fight with Sesshomaru, but a quick glance at you made him pause. He had been the cause of your untimely demise and his need to chase down Naraku was why he hadn't even noticed what happened. When Kagome told him later about the fact that you had been caught in the wind-scar, he truly felt he was to blame for your death.
Inuyasha had killed you. The others had left your body behind. Kagome had decided to leave you where your body lay in order to help the others. They had abandoned you and you were rightfully furious with them.
"Try to calm yourself, my mate. These humans and the half-breed are not worth being so upset over."
"They killed me and left me behind. I have the right to be as upset as I want to be!"
Kagome- upon hearing your words- burst into tears and hid her face, shame weighing upon her heavily. The others struggled to look at you, even as you fought against Sesshomaru's hold and continued to rant angrily at them. They all were to blame and everyone knew it.
A quiet part of you recognized that leaving you behind was the best move, as Sesshomaru was the only one you knew of who could reunite a departed soul and their body. That quiet piece also understood that you had entered the wind-scar voluntarily in order to save Rin from the same fate. Despite how that logic existed in your mind, you knew you still had a right to be angry.
Still, it was obvious Sesshomaru was not going to allow you to kill the ones that killed you. That fact alone cooled your boiling rage to a simmer and as you stopped fighting, his hold on you lessened. Eventually he was the one helping you up to your feet, keeping himself between you and the group you once called friend.
Your hand rest where your jewel sat, feeling it thrum in response to your light touch against the smooth surface. Even though your rage had calmed, you still held the burning hate inside of you. Perhaps it had been that hate and resentment paired with the roaming Kitsune soul that turned you to the demon you were now.
"If I ever see any of you again, I will not hesitate. Sesshomaru won't always be there to hold me back from my vengeance, so sleep with one eye open."
Yandere! Kaoru Hanayama x AFAB! Reader
TW: Depression, Mommy Issues, Stalking, Obsessive Behaviour, Possessive Behaviour, Delusional Thoughts.
Reader: A foreign college student who's currently taken. She's a bit of a brat, but has a good heart.
So I finally have an idea for a fanfic with Hanayama. I really like the idea of making Yandere fics with him, he just seems so perfect for them. This fic is gonna be a multipart, I'm used to making slow burns so if you don't swing with that, I don't know what to tell you. Buckle up? Anyways, enjoy.
Tumblr media
Hanayama was no romantic man. Even with all the money and power in the world, no girl would ever want to stay with someone as dangerous as him. For a while, he was satisfied with this life. He had accepted that no person would ever look at him in adoration and pure love. As empty as it was going day to day, girl to girl, brothel to brothel, it was enough to distract him from his loneliness. When work became too much, he distracted himself with empty pleasure and the moans of prostitutes that were just there for the money.
He laid down against a brick wall, bleeding on the cold and dark floor at a filthy alleyway. It had been one of those days where the underground world was at a state of unrest, violent gang wars breaking out without any signs of stopping. He had no choice but to step in, show everyone who the real boss was. Hanayama knew he would survive. He always does, but sometimes he wished he didn't. He knew he needed to move, but peace like this was a luxury. Any man that tried to disturb this solemn moment would not live to tell the tale. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, letting the cold wind blow against his face.
"Oh my God, sir, you're bleeding! Are you okay? What happened?" A feminine voice took Hanayama out of his thoughts, his eyes opening to find a woman that bent down with concern in her eyes.
He stayed silent, his steel-hardened gaze observing her delicate stature. She was a cute little thing, the equivalent of a tree sapling that had yet to bloom. He trumped her in size and strength, yet she was unafraid. Hanayama had seen hardened men twice her height and stature that would quiver at his feet, but not her. This naive woman who dotted over him like cattle. He watched her ramble about and rummage through her purse for some kind of thing that would stop the bleeding.
He knew it was useless and no amount of nursing from a stranger was going to make the pain disappear, but he commended her effort despite how foolish it was. Did she even realize who she was helping? She was naive to be tending to a man that has crushed millions of gangsters like a grape.
"Okay, almost...Got it." She had tied a makeshift tourniquet around his left arm using her cardigan.
"Can you get up?"
The large man gave a slight nod, struggling to stand up on his two feet while this stranger tried to help him stabilize his trembling form.
What was this woman doing? She must have either been the most oblivious thing on the planet or the most wreckless. She certainly didn't look like she belonged here.
"You speak good Japanese for a tourist." He spoke at out of the blue, making her slightly jump from his sudden comment.
The woman gave a forced chuckle.
"Actually, I've been living here for a while now. I know I don't exactly look like I am, but this is still my home as much as yours."
Kaoru felt conflicted, processing the words inside his head. Despite being born and raised in Japan, it didn't feel like home. Being raised in a Yakuza family was not easy for a young kid. Violence was your normal, and there was no telling if you would live to fight another day. He envied her naivety, the innocence in her eyes that he never got to keep. It was depressing to think about, to say the least.
"We definitely need to get you to the hospital. These injuries are not something you can shrug off." She reached for her phone before he grabbed her wrist with his other hand, causing her to flinch from its tight grip.
"No need. I know a doctor. I'll give you the number." He noticed her trembling form, loosening his grasp as he dialed the numbers and letting the phone ring.
"Hello? Who is this? How did you get this number?" An elegant voice could be heard from the other side, calling out to whoever was there.
"Kureha. I need your services." Without even uttering his name, Hanayama knew that Kureha would recognize his deep and raspy tone. He spoke with conviction and directness.
"Kaoru? What happened to-You know what, it doesn't matter. Where are you right now?" Kureha sighed in exasperation.
"I'm in an alleyway at the Red Light District near Deathmatch pub. Come quick." He hung up without so much as a goodbye, dropping her phone in her hands.
"You can go. I don't need your help anymore."
The foreigner girl's face soured, glaring at him as she shoved her phone in her bag.
"Hmph. You're welcome." She grumbled, gritting her teeth and turning up her nose at rude man.
"I guess I'm not needed here. Good luck. I hope you recover well." Sarcasm dripped from her tone as she left him alone in the alleyway.
He watched her figure disappear through the bustling crowds in the city streets without even as much as looking back at him. Hanayama stared into space, alone in a cold alley once again. Despite her bratty behaviour, he didn't mind it at all.
"Huh. Strange. This girl is something else. For someone who claims to have lived here for a while, she's damn clueless. I'll admit, she has guts to talk down to me like that.."
Before he could dwell on it any longer, a series of loud sirens blared down the streets with an ambulance stopping nearby. Paramedics clamored to take him away for treatment, rushing him towards the hospital.
It would seem that he'd have to hold that thought for a while...
To be continued.
𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗜𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥 (ᴘᴀʀᴛ ᴛᴡᴏ)
Tumblr media
pairing: the wolverine x assassin!reader
warnings: toxicity, abandon (for a reason), fight, blood, swords, crying, yelling, begging, near death, treated, depression, growth, smut, claiming, etc.
request: Well again sorry if you do decide to do a part two. Maybe female y/n does end up going with them cause she can't exactly walk and when the big epic fight happens she actually like helps Logan and uh..darn it you have her name in the story and I already forgot so yeah so female y/n gets injured protecting her..and like after that logan manages to finish the fight due to his rage about it. Uhh like maybe a small time skip with female y/n fully recovering and basically it's logan claiming female y/n as hia forever - @reeeeee3737388
note: this is a rewrite of the Wolverine move when Logan howlett is in Japan. Here is part two.
———
The next morning, Logan woke up first, surprised after he wiped his eyes and yawned, realizing that he hadn’t had a bad dream, or woke up in the middle of the night.
“Fuck,” the man dragged low as he turned his body, facing y/n that was lying on her back. Logan scanned the girl's body that wasn’t covered in the blanket he had thrown over the both of them.
He couldn’t help but think about yesterday. He had gone on for so long. Of course, he took a few breaths due to her blacking out needing a break.
She was too fucked out to speak and tell him she couldn’t anymore, so she laid there and took it. Gripping him every time she came.
“Logan!” Mariko yelled from inside of the safe room he had locked her in. Her speaker still worked, and she had just woken up after being there for almost twenty-four hours.
“Shit,” Logan rolled his eyes with a loud groan as he got up from the bed. He fixed himself up, making sure his zipper wasn’t down and his belt was buckled. He didn’t know how to tell the princess he fucked the assassin to submission.
“Stay back!” Logan yelled before running into the stew metal door. He continued until the door opened, revealing a tried Mariko with snacks in hand as well as a drink.
“What was taking you so long, Logan? Are they gone- Oh my god!” Mariko gasped as she saw the bodies on the ground. “W-What — Oh my god,” she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“Don’t worry, we’ve got a hostage,” Logan said. As Mariko gave Logan a confused look, they heard a thud in the room he left y/n in. “She’s awake,” he said before showing Mariko.
As the two walked into the room, they saw y/n on the floor, pushing her upper body off of the floor as her legs stayed crossed and twitched.
“Fuckin’ fell,” y/n said, upset that her lower body ached this bad. She had no idea how it could be sore and numb at the same time. “Had to — Interrogate her?” Logan shrugged, trying to find a good lie.
“Why is she naked?” Mariko asked, just now making y/n realize her breasts were out and her skirt sat up so far, they could see her mound.
“Fuck,” y/n said under her breath as she pulled her skirt down and covered her breast. “Look-“ Logan went to say but Mariko passed him an eye roll to go help y/n.
“I’m sorry so sorry he-“ Mariko went to speak, but y/m but her off. “It’s okay — H-He didn’t hurt me, I’m just a little-“ y/n tried getting up but she fell back down, making Logan feel bad.
“Shit,” the man said as he walked over to the younger lady and picked her up, placing her on the bed she fell out of after trying to maybe escape, but what would she say to her master?
If she hadn’t come back with Mariko, he’d probably kill her. He needed Mariko to lore Logan to him.
“Sorry,” was all Logan said as he stepped back, seeing the state he had left a stranger in. “I — I needed to eat some steak loose, and I didn’t want to kill you,” Logan admitted.
“Well, isn’t that charming,” y/n faked smiling before turning her head to lay down, away from him. “Hey, if you hadn’t barged in her, actin’ all innocent at first, this wouldn’t have happened!”
“Oh, so I can’t look good or else the Wolverine will find me and fuck me!” Y/n yelled the last two words, making sure he felt how stupid he sounded.
“Well, maybe, yes — You fuckin’ liked it anyway. Could tell the way you squeezed my cock,” the man said through his teeth before leaving out of the room.
“Is he always like this? God,” Y/n rolled her eyes as she flopped back into the soft pillow. “I’ve only known him for a short time, but you’re the only one he’s been nice to, so far,” Mariko smiled.
Mariko has never seen anything like this before. She didn’t know if having sex with an assassin was normal, but she didn’t judge Logan. As long as the girl lying on the bed was fine, Mariko was fine.
“Alright, get up — We’re gettin’ out of here,” Logan barged into the room after an hour of Mariko cooking whatever she could find and serving it to the two.
“Ian goin’ nowhere with you,” y/n said. The way she spoke was different than yesterday. He didn’t know why, but she did. For the past hour, she’s decided the best thing to do is not work for Mariko’s grandfather anymore.
If she went back, she’ll be killed. She needed to vanish and make it seem like she had died trying to fight the Wolverine.
“Oh, yes, you are, and you’re gonna tell us who you work for,” Logan said as he grabbed the girl's arm and pulled her off of the bed. She instantly fell to the ground. She felt like a newborn dear.
Logan rolled his eyes as he dropped his hands. The groan that left his mouth, annoyed y/n. “This is your fucking fault? Like, don’t you know how to take a fuckin’ break you rabid beast,”
Y/n tried getting up by herself, but she couldn’t feel her legs only tingle. Her cunt had throbbed as well, reminding her of last night. Fuck, he fucked her good.
“Ain’t like you stopped cumin’ either,” Logan said, looking right into the girl's eyes. “Body reaction, dickhead,” y/n lied, knowing she felt too damn good when she came around his cock.
“Oh, yeah? Wanna fuckin’ bet on that, Bub?” The man asked as he walked over to y/n, then picked her up. “No, you fuckin- Hey!” Y/n yelled at the man after he threw her on the bed.
Logan hovered over Y/n, not making a move, but looking down at her, eyes dark and cock picking through his jeans.
He’s supposed to be taking this situation seriously. He’s supposed to kill her and run off with Mariko to get her to safety, but instead, he’s pussy-whipped over an assassin sent to weaken him.
“Tell me you like it,” Logan said, voice sounding a bit like a beg, but he wasn’t going to make it more obvious. “Why? You get off on it, big boy?” She asked with a smirk, knowing he did. He is right now.
“Maybe I do — Whatcha gonna do about it, Bub?” Logan’s face leaned towards her, making their noses touch. The low growls Logan let out, only made it harder for y/n to deny him.
“Names y/n — Maybe ask before you try gettin’ in my pants again,” she said, making the man chuckle under his. “Try? Baby, I did,”
His cocky reply left y/n silent. It was true. He did get in her pants. He did get through her slit and made her cum on his cock multiple times.
“You’re a dick,” y/n said, voice low and shy all of a sudden. Even though her lower body was numb, she couldn’t stop her cunt from throbbing. “You like it — Can smell ya,”
“Get off,” y/n said in a serious tone she forced. Instead of arguing, he did as told with a chuckle. “Gonna come back with some clothes and carry you today. You piss me off, and those legs will stay dead longer than they have to,”
“Her grandfather’s alive, and you didn’t fucking tell us!?” Logan asked. It’s. After a day of Logan carrying the woman, she finally told them who wanted Mariko, and why.
Logan wasn’t happy about it. He had thrown y/n to the ground as they walked the streets of Tokyo.
“Why would I!? I wanted to leave!” Y/n said as she slowly got up, able to walk now, but Logan insisted. He said she would walk too slowly. In actuality, he just wanted to carry the woman around.
“Let’s go, Mariko,” Logan said as he turned around to head to where Mariko’s grandfather was hiding out. “No! H-He wants you there! If you do, you’ll give him what he wants,” y/n got up and tried pulling the man back to save his life.
“Get the fuck off of me!” Logan shouted as he yanked his arm away from her. “Don’t act like you fuckin’ care for us now. You came to kill me,” Logan growled in her face.
“I didn’t come to kill you, I came to weaken you. A-And I know that’s not better, but- You know how this life goes,” y/n said, making Logan chuckle.
“You had a choice,” Logan said, which she did, for this mission. She wouldn’t for any other. “You know I didn’t. I-I probably still don’t,” she said.
“Then leave — I won’t follow, just fucking leave,” Logan said through his teeth, mocking what she said a couple of days ago.
The face he gave looked serious, but he wasn’t anywhere near. He just needed y/n to get the fuck out of here before things got bad. She has no power, and they wouldn’t kill Mariko. She and Logan would be the only ones in danger.
“A-Are you serious?” She asked low with a crack in her voice. “Do you see me stuttering?” The man said, making y/n’s face twitch with different expressions.
She knows they don’t know each other, but the hint Logan has been giving and the way he fucked her that day — She thought her care about her at least a little, but her stilling her to fuck off.
“Logan, I don’t think she should-“ Mariko tried saying but Logan turned around and grabbed her arm, pulling Mariko away to go fight.
Y/n stayed behind, standing in the street as her eyes began to water. Logan could smell it. He felt horrible, but he can’t show it. He had to leave her. There was no other way.
“You don’t need her anymore, you need me. So fight me!” Logan shouted as he brought out his claws. Mariko’s grandfather had finally revealed himself after Logan told him he knew he was alive.
“Who told you it was me?” The old man asked, genuinely wanting to know. He began saying names until he stopped at y/n, seeing the way Logan’s eye twitched.
Y/n had only me ruin her name to Mariko, but he over heard. He was curious, but that might’ve put her in danger.
“Oh, y/n — She’s a wonderful soul. Kind and obedient, but too pretty to send on a mission against the Wolverine, I see,” the old man said, lightly feeling the tension between Logan and just her name.
“You leave her alone,” Logan said, making the man chuckle. “Now, why would I do that? She works for me. She means nothing to you,”
Logan had gotten pissed off from his comment, so he attacked him. The two started fighting as Mariko tried thinking and looking around for ways to stop her grandfather.
Y/n had followed the two from a distance earlier today. Now she’s hiding behind objects, hoping Logan would win the fight he’s in right now, but he’s struggling against the man in the metal suit.
Y/n quickly ran over to the computer section she had scanned for. His suit had to be connected to something right?
“Y/n!?” Mariko yelled as she ran over to her, surprised at her appearance. She shouldn't be here. She knows her grandfather will kill her if she sees she’s snooping around, and going against him.
“Don’t worry, I’m just doing the right things,” y/n said, trying in the computers to shut anything down that was on. “You’re a good woman, y/n. Go help, Logan. I’ve got this,” she said.
Y/n nodded her head before she ran towards where the two were fighting. They had fallen down a couple of stories, so she ran down those stairs until she made eye contact with him. The silver samurai.
“Well, look who’s come back. Couldn’t abandon your old man?” The older man asked as he threw Logan across the room. “Logan!” Y/n shouted, seeing how weak the man was.
“You’re pathetic. Worthless! I send you on a mission, and betray me — Do you know what I do to traitors!?” The older man asked as Logan slowly looked up, seeing who the old man was roaming to, and once he did, his eyes widened.
“Y-Y/n,” he said low as he tried to get up, but he slipped, legs feeling weak and his ribs in pain. “I show no mercy,” the silver samurai said before he lunged at y/n slicing her clean across her stomach before she could react.
“No!” Logan shouted, trying to gain strength but his regenerating powers were weakened and slowed than usual. The silver samurai was prepared for tonight.
Y/n tried fighting, grabbing a sword that was on the floor, but it was soon taken from her. The old man used it, stabbing the young lady through her stomach.
Y/n gasped, hands falling down as she looked into the man’s eyes. “You were a good assassin while it lasted. May you pass and do better in the next life,” was the last thing the old man said before he pulled the sword out.
Y/n fell to the ground, slumped and gushing blood she thought she could stop, but her hands were too weak to lift. She couldn’t move.
“No!” Logan yelled, voice growling as his eyes darkened. The man’s claws came out as his veins popped throughout his whole body. With one loud animalistic yell, the man ran towards the old man in the suit.
Logan felt bad at first for what he was about to do, but y/n was innocent. He was an innocent young lady who grew up, forced to think she had to work for the older man.
Logan let all of his anger out and finished the grandfather off, throwing him out of the tower they were fighting in. His suit broke apart as it hit the ground way below.
Logan huffed and puffed, still feeling anger until he snapped back into reality, thinking of y/n. He quickly turned around and ran to the wounded lady on the cold ground.
“Y/n,” the man said as he dropped to his knees. His hands instantly pressed down on her wound, trying to stop the bleeding. “Get help! Now!” Logan yelled at Mariko who looked down at him from upstairs.
“Hey, hey, look at me. Look at me! It’s gonna be okay, okay? Hey, it’s alright,” the man couldn’t stop speaking as he watched the girl's head move and mouth part. She wanted to speak, but couldn’t.
“Take your time, what is it? C‘mon, Bub, just get it out. What is it?” He asked as one of his hands came to her cheek to keep her head steady. Her eyes met his, allowing her to see how glossy they were.
“I- sorry,” she choked, feeling like this would’ve never happened if she had just kept her mouth shut or told the princess about what her grandfather had planned. Y/n was in the middle of it all and stayed quiet for her master.
Y/n’s eyes slowly began to close, making Logan's heart speed up. “N-No - No, y/n — Y/n, no!” The man slapped her face, but she couldn’t stay up anymore.
Months passed, and Logan did everything he could to keep y/n up and running, making sure she ate what she had to, drank what she had to, walked as much as she had to, and rested as much as she had to.
Y/n would argue with him almost every day about it, crying into his chest about how hard it was living like this. Living slowly and not being able to train like she used to every day.
“You were forced to train. Now you can finally rest — By me,” was something Logan would say all the time to call her down.
Thankfully, y/n was now fully recovered. She apologized to the man many times about how she acted towards him while she was healing. All he did was laugh at the girl as he told her he was fine and never felt any different about her.
“They’re gone,” Logan spoke, breaking the silence between the two after she had woken up from a long nap. Today was day one of her full recovery, and she looked as beautiful as ever.
“Yeah — All thanks to you,” Y/n smiled as his hands tiptoed around her half-naked body. The panties and bra set he gave her were cute, and she decided to wear them to sleep last night, not thinking she’d wake up to him right next to her.
“It’s all you, Bub — You’re stronger than you think,” he said, making her giggle. “And how would you know that, mister Wolverine?” She asked, making a low chuckle slip from his mouth.
“You healed me,” he said after the seconds of laughter between the mouth. “Come again?” She asked the man. “You healed me — Saved me from being in the gutter. It takes a strong person to the that. A strong human, and you’ve managed to do that when we first met,”
Y/n shyly smiled at the man, not knowing what to say. “You know, I can’t let that go, right?” He said. “Let what go?” She asked. “Let you go — I worked my ass to keep you well. For me. Of course for your own self but — Y/n, I need you,”
Y/n’s hands stopped stroking the man’s hair at the shocking words. She thought this might only be a fling, but apparently, he thought otherwise.
“I’ve been alone and hurt for too long, carrying around anger, and beating myself up, but when I’m with you- It seems to all go away. You make me feel whole — I need you,”
“A-Are you sure it’s not just some attachment issue-“ she tried saying, but he cut her off with a long kiss, hoping she’d get his serious this situation was for him.
“Ain’t no issue, Bub — Just you,” Logan said, hoping she wouldn’t turn the old man around. “Logan — We’re so different,” Y/n said, but Logan didn’t care.
The man’s hand traveled to her face, cupping and rubbing at it. “Don’t turn me down, Bub — Please,” the man’s voice came out low. She could tell this was a huge jump for him.
“I — I could never turn you down, Logan,” she smiled, as his eyes widened. “Thank god,” Logan quickly hovered over the young lady as he smashed his lips on hers, kissing her roughly and sweetly.
“You gon quit that assassin shit for me, Bub? Can’t have you goin’ out endangering yourself,” Logan began nibbling along the girl's cheek and neck. “I retired,” y/n giggled.
“Good girl,” the man continued kissing down her body, hooking his fingers on her panties until he ripped them off. “Need this pretty girl safe and sound,” the man smirked down at y/n as she looked up at him.
It didn’t take long for Logan to have the young girl squirming and whining his name as he repeatedly hit her right spot.
“Mhm hm — Right there? Gettin’ to the right spot?” He asked, making her nod with a cry. “R-Right there,” her hands wrapped around the man’s neck.
“Gonna be good for me, and cum?” The man could feel her tightening around her every second. “Y-Yes,” was all she said before she came around him with a shake.
The growl he let out buried inside of her head. He couldn’t get enough of her. “Treatin’ an old man so good — Gotta keep you forever,” the man said in the crook of her neck, rolling his hips just right.
“Ain’t never lettin’ you go,”
saw ur vents abt dungeon meishi and while I haven’t read the series yet or watched the anime I have seen bits and pieces and already saw the blowup scene where Toshiro attacks Laois and like. even I with zero context didn’t totally hate him. It sucks majorly that it had to happen but like. Toshiro is going through his own shit and plenty of other characters ALSO don’t like Laois! I think people just see that scene and project the amount of times that’s happened to them with someone in real life, which like. I get it. I’m autistic and reading that scene hit like a gut punch bc it was something I had experienced directly in real life: trying to be friends with someone, thinking you are friends, only for them to reveal one day that they couldn’t stand you and hated your guts from day one. You wonder why the fuck they pretended and let you hurt even worse than outright initial rejection. You wonder why they’d put themselves through enduring you. It makes you feel like you can’t trust anyone, makes you feel like utter shit. I 100% get why it bothers people. But you can’t project real life people you experienced onto this character that does not align at all except for this one moment. Also knowing about the author, she probably put that in on purpose as commentary for how autistics in Japan generally have to go through shit like this bc of the way their social culture is. She’s made plenty of autistic commentaries before, I doubt she stuck that scene in there for no good reason. The fact that Toshiro kept quiet and didn’t say anything until he couldn’t take it anymore is VERY indicative to me of the ways Japan’s typical social system is a struggle on all sides. Not to say these are problems unique to Japan, but the nuance needs to be understood. Toshiro isn’t being a dick just for the sake of it. I want to read it sometime so I can better understand the guy, but I don’t want to hate him based on one scene where he was an asshole. Laois is an asshole plenty of times himself, being very overtly written as autistic doesn’t absolve him from the responsibilities of being an adult.
TLDR: People tend to infantilize Laois and demonize Toshiro, which comes down to the prejudices preconceived for both of them: people see Laois, as an autistic man, as an innocent sweet guy who needs to be protected. They see Toshiro, as an Asian man, as someone who should be “polite and honorable” or whatever and are appalled when he acts like a fallible human being and not some appropriation of a fictional romanticized samurai. I understand feeling betrayed and angry seeing a character be a genuine asshole about something (social expectation does not completely absolve Toshiro of his own antagonizations however much of a reason he had) but when it’s so damn one sided, and especially in a series where almost NO one is without complete asshole qualities that round them out, I find it kind of gross that people hate on him for that. Anyway. Just wanted to send a message of support and understanding. Hopefully after I read more I can offer more analysis to corroborate with you on.
100% CORRECT thank you anon
i also understand the people who are sympathizing with laios bc that scene is very easy to relate to for many autistic or otherwise neurodivergent people (i also got a cold sweat when i was watching it bc. like. having someone you thought was a friend straight up tell you there are parts of your behavior that they can't stand is one of the worst things to experience of all time, ESPECIALLY if you were only showing that behavior around them bc you thought they were your friend and you trusted them) but it's so frustrating seeing so many people have such shallow opinions about toshiro bc of it. im on hands and knees begging people to consider the characters in three dimensions and/or develop better reading comprehension because like!! toshiro's official meeting with laios's new group literally leads with 'oh his name is actually toshiro and we never knew bc our leader had a misunderstanding and microaggressed him and he was too polite to correct him' laios is not an innocent party here!! he is not an innocent uwu autistic baby he's a grown adult man with responsibilities, in that whole time he was partied with toshiro he never learned his real name!! plus using toshiro's crush on falin as a reason to hate him, falin's adolescence was spent in a school and a social setting where she was expected to mask + her being a girl also means she is expected to mask by default -> she is better at masking than laios so why are people saying that toshiro hates laios for the same traits in falin bc clearly not?? also saw one person saying 'he only likes falin because she's hot' NO HE DOES NOT HE WOULD NOT RISK HIS LIFE HEALTH AND RETAINERS IN A DUNGEON ON A FOREIGN CONTINENT FOR THE SAKE OF A WOMAN HE ONLY THOUGHT WAS SEXY!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DUNMESHI FANS THINK WITH YOUR BRAAIN
the whole fight he had with laios where laios points out that their party is more serious about finding falin and resolving everything also drives me nuts because i've seen at least one take saying that toshiro doesn't care about falin as much as team laios because of this. which yes the fact that team laios understands the importance of health in pursuit of a goal is very very important but for many cases in east asian culture (and actually any culture with emphasis on capitalism and economic growth) productivity will get valued above all else which leads to neglect of personal health, i.e: what toshiro was doing. so this is just a clown take to begin with
also interesting to me that almost every character in dunmeshi thus far has demonstrated some kind of racial bias/misconceptions (i.e: chilchuck about elves, senshi about half-foots, etcetera etcetera) and laios and falin are no exception. race and racial differences and conflict and coexistence is also one of the underlying themes in dungeon meshi, with the elves of the west being considered a major issue to many dungeon-goers and the mayor hating dwarves and having to contend with those elves, and then marcille's motive for studying black magic and even thistle's motive for being the dungeon keeper. so it's real fucking ironic that the fans are really quick and happy to demote toshiro to 'asshole side character who is bullying our autistic rep' instead of, you know, using nuance and thinking about it
tldr; dungeon meshi has great commentary on what it's like as an autistic person in society. but dungeon meshi fans are too quick to write off toshiro as an asshole japanese guy who is ableist and getting in the way of their white woman yuri, therefore helping to promote this website's enduring legacy as the piss-poor reading comprehension website
Hello, Hello! (人*´∀`)。*゚+
May I request "Can I call you tonight" w Goro Akechi with a female Reader ?
A/N - oml, sorry this took me so long to get out, I was in China to see my grandparents until today and wrote this is a haze in between naps on my 13 hour flight on the way back. It wasn't what I was originally planning to go with, but I like this version better :3
CAN I CALL YOU TONIGHT - AKECHI x FEM!READER (Request 1)
cw: none rating: G
Akechi was screwed. He really messed up this time.
His finger hovered over your name in his phone. Instantly falling for you was a mistake, a gross miscalculation that had his mind and heart in conflict. He knew it was a bad idea, letting his emotions get the better of him. That didn't change the fact that he had added a little heart to your contact info.
You reminded him of Robin Hood with your pure heart and good intentions.
He felt so bad lying to you.
Previously, before meeting you, he hadn't found a good reason to live. Sure, he was playing Shido's game, but things had only grown more complicated with the development in Sae Niijima's Palace. In that wretched casino, he'd seen the worst of his senior colleague's psyche, the manifestation of her desires led astray. Between that and meeting that bastard Ren Amamiya, he'd begin to question whether what he was doing was actually worth it.
Then you'd bumped into him at his favorite jazz club. You had a gig lined up as a guest singer with Lyn, the usual vocalist. He discovered that you were a vocal student, one of the most promising soprano singers in Tokyo at the moment. He was entranced by your voice, like a songbird with an innocent twinkle in your words.
What was he supposed to do? You were everything he wasn't, what with your flowing ensemble of multilayered skirts and sleeveless blouse. You were even decorated with little hummingbirds, which helped project your picture of freedom and purity. Your hair was done up in a half-up-half-down bun with two hair sticks that twisted around themselves and ended in pearls. Everything about you screamed "good."
He was enamored, but kept his distance that night. Just his luck that you'd run straight into him as he was slinking out of the club.
"Oh, I'm sorry, sir! I wasn't watching where I was going, my apologies." You had bowed deeply before meeting his inquisitive gaze, voice ringing sweetly through the empty hallway. Akechi held his breath, expecting you to recognize him and start bothering him for an autograph.
"You're Goro Akechi, right? Fancy meeting you here! What a funny circumstance." Giggling, you had straightened up and offered a hand out in a gesture of goodwill. "I thought a great detective like you would be busy solving Japan's next biggest case, but I'm honored you had time to come to my show!"
"Actually, it really is a funny circumstance. I usually come here on Fridays to wind down after a hard week. I had no idea there'd be a different performer this time!" He turned up the charm, not wanting to let down someone so humble. "I can't say I was disappointed, though!"
There was that laugh again, carrying through the quiet space around the two of you. It sounded like starlight looked, bright yet gentle.
Akechi winked, much like he did for his fangirls, but it felt less disingenuous somehow.
"Who do I owe this pleasure and an amazing performance to?"
You gave him your name. Your last name caught his ear, foreign yet beautiful.
Finch. You certainly lived up to your surname.
"Well, Ms. Finch, that was certainly the most enjoyable evening I've had in a while."
You laughed, melodic and soft, hardly more than a breath, and gave him a stunning smile. Akechi noticed that you had a beauty mark to the right of your lower lip.
"Thank you so much! It was actually my first gig, so I was nervous. Glad I didn't disappoint, though!" You blushed lightly and averted your eyes.
Oh, you were too cute. Akechi could almost forget that he was a criminal with how innocently you smiled at him.
"If I may be so forward, I'd love to get to know you more. Could I be so bold as to ask for your number?" Lord, his heart never fluttered like this before. It was almost like your presence could take away his pain, if just for a moment.
You had agreed in the end, but not before flushing a bright red and stammering out an enthusiastic reply.
Now, here he was, the Detective Prince, reduced to a yearning mess. That interaction had been two nights ago. It was Monday now, which meant that he had failed to work up the nerve to text first for a whole 72 hours. He was pathetic.
Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and hit sent on the message he had been typing and re-typing for nearly half an hour at this point.
Hello, this is Goro Akechi. Apologies for waiting so long to text you. Would I be able to call you tonight?
If falling in love with you was his biggest mistake, then so be it.
Okay but allies and axis with a normally shy and pure s/o putting her hand on their lap and asking “is this seat taken?”
Allies + Axis dealing with a S/O "looking for a place to sit"
Alies:
America
For once he's a little speechless
Doesn't say anything until he pulls his S/O into his lap
"Is this what you wanted?"
He says with a playfully pout.
Kisses all over
Hopefully his S/O doesn't break under the attention!
They might be there a while.
He may get a tad touchy but never doing anything to scare them off.
England
"W-What? I mean, of course not!"
About a 5/10 when it comes to recovering from the initial shock.
He's WICKED squirmy once his S/O actually sits down.
Poor man is TRYING to keep his gentleman composure
His leg will start to bounce and he doesn't know what to do with his hands for a solid 15 seconds
Eventually leads his head on their shoulder and wraps his arms around their waist
Comfy silence engulfs the the rest of the cuddle session
France
Oh man. I hope his S/O KNEW what they had signed up for
This sudden surge of bravery is sooo sexy~
He's already pulled them on to his lap, facing him and resting their head into his chest.
He starts whispering promises of an endless night, if they chose to let him go that far.
If not he is 100% down for some light teasing and cuddles.
He will also be the first to fall asleep if they stay like that for too long.
His yawns are painfully cute!
China
He instantly chuckles and plays along.
Either he will act all shy like an innocent princess, or like a mafia boss getting his way.
He definitely leaves a trail of kisses either way and won't let go until his S/O is ready.
Prepare for extra gifts and love for displaying such courageous actions
Makes sure to tell his S/O how proud he is for it as well~
Russia
He's a little taken aback at first but laughs it off and opens his arms wide for them!
He does prefer them face to face so he can nuzzle their noses and cheeks together
Careful if you set on top of his legs, he will turn into a bounce house at that point (take that as innocently as you want, or not)
His scarf gets wrapped around them at some point as well and he is the perfect balance of ice and heat
There's also a huge chance he thinks they just want a hug
Good luck getting him to let go once he's comfortable...
Axis
Germany
He goes a little red in the face and grows quiet
His S/O shouldn't take his silence and stern look for rejection
He's just weighing out his options on how he should respond
If it's later on at night and he doesn't have any meetings they should prepare for it to turn intimate
Any other time and he will give them a shy cuddle session
He tries to play it off like he's not totally into it, but he is
He will be whispering many praises over his treasure and their bravery.
Also mentions that they should do that more often.
Italy
Is kind of confused but has the spirit!
Not at all shy about it and gives immediate nuzzles and squeezes
His S/O is too cute and precious!
Don't. Be. Fooled.
He'll start to do things like graze their thigh and play it off innocently. TOO innocently
He's just silly, not dumb and knows exactly what his S/O wants, and likes.
It's like a cute and cuddly mime field!
Japan
This depends on where the relationship is, and if he's in his home or not.
If they've been together a while chances are he's already bathing with them (if they're OK with it) and he's even initiated hand holding and cuddles!
He's a completely different person when it's just him and his S/O.
He'll probably be kneeling on the floor, so be prepared for it to be slightly awkward to get comfortable, but he can manage.
He acts like he didn't hear what they said and it becomes such a peaceful and calming atmosphere
That is until S/O feels a light breeze go into their ear.
He will let go if they get uncomfortable but is 100% taking advantage to tease them and try and catch up on all the months they stayed touch starved.
If they ARENT that far into the relationship he'll be reluctant but agreeable. So be very gentle with the Japanese man.
What’s your opinion on 07 Raph?
Buckle up for a long one, my dudes, I have FEELINGS about 2007.
07 Raph irritates me as much as 07 Leo does. Again, I feel like they nuke parts of his characters and just make him “the angry one”.
And look, the writers were obviously trying to highlight that Leo is feeling massive shame for not meeting whatever goal Splinter had set for him (put a pin in that thought, we’ll come right back to it), and Raph is feeling HUGE angry because he feels abandoned by his big brother. The family is feeling lost because it’s been out of balance for two years. And people who watch it and are big fans of the series can come to it and write fix it fics that fill in the gaps (taizi just wrote this beautiful piece for the @turtlestogetherzine that was recently release on their ao3 that makes me cry). But if you have never ever seen anything turtles before and this is your intro? I feel like people walk away thinking they’re total assholes. I dragged my now husband out on a date to go see it when it came out and he had to listen to me angry whisper “OH YOU HUGE ASSHOLE” when Leo tells Raph “Because I’m better than you.”
LIKE BITCH WHY ARE YOU BEING PETTY AF.
But, again, fan fiction writers have saved them and remind me that these are boys who have some significant trauma that is manifesting in ways that make them bearish and prickly and they still have cool ass things going on like I love Raph as the Nightwatcher and Leo saving innocences in South America? Swoon. I do want to point out some positives.
But let’s get back to that pin, shall we? Because I actually think most of this irritation can be traced back to Splinter. It’s wild to send Leo away, but hey, sure, training exercises can be good, but for a whole YEAR? With little direction? A teenage child who has spent his entire life together with his three brothers, his father, and later his human sister and brother off to solitude for a year? In a whole other country when he hasn’t even left New York for longer than a freaky space and time excursion and even then he was with his family? Then your son stops writing and your sad about it but that’s cool, he’s ok and just needs time? Nary a concern? Because I would be freaking out that my son why dead, but maybe that’s me overreacting.
Then he doesn’t do anything back at home with Raph, Don, and Mikey. He leaves them to their own devices, doesn’t seem to continue training, doesn’t intervene when there are obvious tensions and hurts building between his children. Then when Leo does come back he just shoves them together and says “you can’t go back to fighting until you figure out how to work as a team” but then doesn’t do anything to help that process either? Maybe I’m being unfair, but also we have 03 Splinter who would have had NONE of this shit and while he did send Leo away it was a last resort type thing and he sent him to therapy with his great grandfather. And he frigging hike from New York to Japan when his sons did go missing. And 07 had that material to refer to.
Again, I think the writers were trying to simplify a lot of things for a 90 minute movie and that is hard to do and I haven’t had to write and produce a major film but dammit, guys, why you gotta do my boys dirty like that?
Demon mitsuri x human! Reader?
Ooooh, okay! I say Upper Moon Mitsuri because that one is much cooler! Interesting fact: Shitsuren, according to Google Translate, means Heartbreak in Japanese
Kanroji Mitsuri
Tumblr media
“Kaaaawww! A Upper Moon has been found! Kaaww!” Your crow called out from above, hidden by the dark beauty of the night as you ran at your top speed to follow the intelligent bird. She was leading you to the location of the demon and luckily, you were the nearest Hashira.
Though, ‘Upper Moon’ frightened you as Upper Moons were beyond your strength level but at the same time, you were ready to sacrifice your life to save Japan for good
Arriving in a dark, misty forest where nothing seemed lived in, you pasted the village but yet, you were confused by the lack of living breathing beings. Nothing was in this forest; no chirping of birds, no human screaming
It was rather eerie as you slowed down your running and beginning to walk with your katana flaring upwards as a warning to any nearby demons that you mean business. A rather elegant female voice harmonised through the air like the trees were the ones making that noise, out of nowhere
A stream of see-through fabric flowed past your sight as you hopped back in instinct. It was dead quiet for quite some time whilst you looked around for any signs of demons. Now something has finally come out and it all came crashing down, you were rather nervous but you flipped on your bravery
Preparing yourself and raising up your katana to strike, you stopped in place entirely and whipped your head around to find the demon, why waste your energy until you can actually start the fight. Traces of the demon was very faint so you had to carefully try track it down. The silence enveloped you, your intensity fading slowly until your body jolted up at the feeling of sharp drags on your thighs
A pair of claws ran up your skin, touching your thigh-high socks. You immediately swung your katana down with a deep breath, effectively cutting those hands clean off and jumping back in sync to finally see the demon. Your eyes sparkled in shock at the sight before you, you didn’t need to find the demon yourself, it came to you
The demon was bizarrely beautiful. Bright pink hair fading to lime green with three long braids, lime green eyes with the Kanji of “Upper Eight”, a pretty pink kimono with a open slit at her thighs, a light green haori with that same see-through fabric at the ends, a pair of green thigh-highs with a thick navy blue stripe at the top. She looked rather human, she could easily come off as one if you didn’t have the ability to sense her demonic nature
“Oh my~ Tell me, what’s your name~” The Upper Moon suddenly chirped once her hands regenerated in a mere blink, clapping her new hands together in a act of innocence and kindness. You gripped your katana handle tighter and bit on your lip for a few seconds to steady yourself. Rather she be beautiful or not, she’s a demon. A monster, a killer and she was most likely trying to seduce you into lowering your guard
“… Myōji Dokusha” You answer firmly and somewhat reluctant as the demon chirped pleased, closing her eyes with a smile once she heard your name. You didn’t sense any hostility or aggression coming off her figure but you couldn’t let your guard down, she can easily trick you and lure you into a trap. “Call me Shitsuren!”
The uncomfortable silence was diced apart when Shitsuren begun cooing cheerfully, disappearing the second you blink and reappearing behind you. Her arms circled around your collarbone and a hand grazed down your hair in a rather enticing manner for a demonic creature like her, her eyes glowed predatory-like.
“Dokusha. What a gorgeous name~” Shitsuren’s silky voice radiated positivity, showing off her clean snowy white fangs through her smile as she leant her head on your shoulder. She was playing with you, the bitch. You hissed angrily in your head, planting your zori sandal down on the floor stably
You rose your arms to begin swinging as fast as humanely possible but Shitsuren moved much faster than you ever could, karate chopping the flesh of your neck hard enough to trigger a knockout. Her twisted sweet smile didn’t fade as your vision darkened quickly and your body fell limply into her arms, your sword jumping away on clinks
Shitsuren rolled her tongue excitedly, standing up with you tucked in her arms comfortably after seconds of readjusting you to lay bridal style up against her chest before she stomps on your katana full force, breaking it into pieces. Walking forward, such disgusting sweetness poured from her whilst the delicious smell of human blood wafted past her nostrils
“You are such a delicious treat~ I’m not gonna let you get away from me, Dokusha~”
Thinking long and hard about leo selling photos of the mc to a kind of black market going on between the ghouls, most people stay away from them or at least don't get too close to ghouls so the mc is a pretty easy target for their energy 😞, it started as a joke between him and Sho like 'oh~ your little crush isn't as innocent as you thought, I found a fair bit of nudes in their phone *flashes it*' 'shut up, those must be ai generated' 'if my next video reaches a million views I might allow you to get a good look'
until he sees how awkwardly ren might lean to see slightly down their shirts, me might or might not know someone with a phone bought outside Japan that doesn't make noise when taking photos and he might or might not have an up skirt/ hacked nude of them, so what's his price for the hypotheticals? And slowly he begins to get a small business off of the scholarship student.
To some degree he is judging his clients, it isn't like it was that hard to get them, are they lazy or just so much of a loser? He also hopes the photos haku bought were for mister perfect because someone so reserved must have a dirty secret and people say the shy ones are the worst. You just notice how awkward some of the boys get around you during missions
I mean it depends on the ghoul and the house and why. . .like it seems like some people get pretty close to the ghouls but definitely not like. Emotionally.
But oh god. . .somehow you reminded me that Leo makes AI generated pics of women to scam perverts with online. He could absolutely use that shit to make fake MC nudes. What a powerful thought anon lmao
Sho knows he does this stuff so he doesn't believe any of it's real--until Leo takes a pic(not of MC, just in general, because Leo does not trust Sho not to rat him out) of in front of him using the foreign phone and he doesn't hear a camera shutter. And he just goes "Dude." Because only the kind of guys they steal from buy that kind of shit is he really using it for creep pics of someone? Sho's judging Leo--but Sho's always judging Leo. He always goes along with whatever Leo's up to anyway, so who cares what he says if his actions don't line up. He's curious, he knows he is~
But Sho knows Leo doesn't like MC. So surely he wouldn't go out of his way to get creep shots. Right? Nah, he's just editing pics he took of them, throwing them at some AI software to strip them. He has to be. Not that he hasn't gotten closer to doing way worse things with way grosser people but it's hard to tell where Leo draws his lines. . . .
Not that Sho minds if they're not innocent. More fun for him--
So Leo can't fool Sho. Not that he'd get any profit out of Sho, maybe a fun bet or something. But Ren looking a bit too long when they stretch and their shirt slips up and shows off their lower back, or their pants slide a little far enough down to show anything underneath, or at their legs when they wear shorts/short skirts or their ass when they walk up the stairs or down their shirt when it's a bit unbuttoned. . .Leo's suddenly so friendly with the little loser. And anyone he sees 'admiring' the MC. . . .
(Leo puts an arm around Ren and Ren says it's sexual harassment. Leo grins like his little demonic self and says "you wanna see some real sexual harassment?" And Ren's pissed off until he gets a glimpse of MC's face on the phone--)
It's the more. . .passive ones who're most interested. Leo knows it wouldn't make sense to offer it to someone like Jin or Taiga who'd just strip them if they really wanted that. Nah, he needs to offer to the ones who've got no prospects. Kaito, Ren--wait why's Haku messaging him about this? He's seen him openly flirt with MC--and heard him flirt with other girls. Like, actually doing a good job at flirting. He could probably talk them into sending nudes. Well, all the more reason to suspect they're for Subaru.
He's used to judging his clients though. He makes a good amount of his disposable income from perverts like this, he usually just doesn't have an actual real person's face to consistently attach to the nudes he generates. Besides, it's not like he doesn't get the appeal. . .not that he would ever admit being attracted to that NPC, not before they said it. But he doesn't generate them for himself, he's not that desperate. It was just to test the software and tease Sho at first. If he wanted their nudes he'd get the real ones, from the source. And he wouldn't share them--not for a way higher price than he's charging for the AI generated crap anyway.
On missions and while helping out around each house you notice some of them are acting a little strange but. . .you've really got no idea until you get a "didn't I tell you not to give away pictures of yourself so easily?" from Haku and you're just ?????? And if you did send anybody but Haku nudes you're just wondering how tf Haku found out--unless Zenji caught you taking pictures and you didn't notice. And I can't decide if Haku would tell you what Leo's up to or leave you to figure out where pictures of you are coming from yourself. It definitely won't last too long though. If only because I can't see Leo restricting it to the ghouls if general students were offering cash. . .the word would spread too quickly.
It'd be very awkward for everyone involved--except Leo who'd just be annoyed that you put a stop to his little scam.
oh godddd… hnnn snippets?!? i beg
Two days late but here you are anon as promised
A brief bit of Shannon's flashback in the first chapter:
“I won’t let you take her. Think of all the lives we could save. It’ll end the same for her, she might be immune but you and I both know the infected are not the worst monsters out there. At least this way we have a chance to save everyone.”
Shannon can’t explain why the life of the girl currently thrown over her shoulder means more than the collective universe around them. This isn’t about the daughter, she’d lost, and atonement was beyond her grasp the moment she’d killed the first firefly. It was as simple as knowing that in spite of the world around them, Beatrice deserved to live.
“Fuck everyone else.”
------
some Mary x Shannon x Beatrice from the intro chapter
Beatrice winces, clearly uncomfortable at the praise, folds her arms, seeming to sink within herself, ducking her head in acknowledgement,” I’m glad they think so. Speaking of, I'm really tired. I was actually thinking about going to bed early.”
Beatrice head tips towards the clock on her desk as if to say please take the hint. You can leave now.
“That reminds me, Mary was just telling me a joke about a clock earlier-.” Shannon’s voice fades, as Beatrice’s expression only seems to grow more dim. “Sorry not the time. We just came by to drop a couple things off.”
Mary thankfully takes her cue and steps into view, a shotgun in one hand, a guitar in the other. Unable to help herself, Shannon scowls, not having realized what Mary’s gift actually was. “Seriously?”
“Well one of us had to get her something practical.” Mary grumbles.
Beatrice glances between the two, lips tugging up into a soft smile. “So which one is the practical gift?”
Mary scoffs at that. “I’m not sure it’ll be much use if you need that question answered.”
------
last but not least the Ava x Beatrice dynamic from the second chapter:
“Beatrice!”
The outcry startles her, the toes of her sneakers catching against the uneven ground. It’s an unfortunate sequence of events that leaves Beatrice scrambling to right herself. By the time Beatrice orients herself, there’s a firm hand at her elbow.
“Easy, it kind of defeats the purpose if you twist your ankle.”
“Ava?”
It should be illegal to look as good as Ava does after patrol. Ten hours of trekking through the forests around Jackson and Ava looks as good as she did this morning. The flecks of mud that are currently clinging to Beatrice’s clothes, totally absent from Ava’s own. Ava seems totally unfazed, an arm moving to curl around Beatrice’s shoulder.
“You know I think that’s the exact reason sneakers are a no go in the patrol manual.”
Beatrice scoffs, brushing Ava’s arm from her shoulder. “I’m fairly certain the only rule on patrol is something along the lines of don’t get bit, and don’t deviate from the route.”
Ava, blissfully unaware of the side effect of her touch, loops her arm through Beatrice’s. “Well if we really want to get technical it’s a dry erase board not a manual.”
“Ava, you’re the one that called it a manual.”
“Semantics.”
Beatrice in spite of herself chuckles. This time resigning herself to the inevitability of Ava’s touch. Years of friendship and Beatrice is no closer to managing the uncomfortable skip in her chest at even the brush of Ava’s fingers.
“Have you been back long?”
“Maybe an hour.”
Beatrice’s eyes narrow warily at the admission. “You waited an hour for me?”
“Who says I was waiting for you? Maybe Japan just needed a good brushing?” Ava cuts with a feigned innocence.
“Unlikely. I’ve known you for years, and I’ve never seen you wait to head to the diner after a run.” Beatrice pauses to gesture at the road around them. “Not to mention the fact that it’s cold.”
“You know most people would be ecstatic to have such a pretty face waiting for them right at the gate.”
“Most people wouldn’t think to ask what the pretty face wants.” Beatrice counters.
“So you do think I’m pretty.”
Beatrice can feel the weight of Ava’s stare from the corner of her eye. The muscles in her jaw flex, narrowly averting the words that so easily come to mind. Beautiful. Radiant. Breathtaking. There were far better adjectives that Beatrice could assign to Ava. Pretty was inadequate.
Unconsciously Beatrice raises her shoulders in a shrug, avoiding direct eye contact, and certainly avoiding a verbal response. Ava was an expert at finding numerous ways to poke and prod at Beatrice through the subliminal admissions in her words.
A glance is all it takes to weaken Beatrice’s resolve. Ava’s bottom lip juts out, the previous crinkling of her eyes wholly absent now. Worst of all Ava looks genuinely wounded by Beatrice’s lack of response.
“Obviously Ava, I’m not blind.”
This time Beatrice allows herself a glance in Ava’s direction. Watching the words sink in, and it’s annoying really. Ava is practically glowing. All previous signs of hurt dissipate into one of Ava’s toothy smiles, the kind of smile that Beatrice has seen light up a room. Annoying. The concept that such an offhand comment from Beatrice might genuinely elicit such a reaction.
“So I have a question.”
“I’m shocked by this development.” Beatrice snarks. Her lips twitch with the effort of impeding a smile.
“Shut up.” Ava’s shoulder shoves playfully against her own. “Back to my question. Are you coming to the dance tonight?”
Beatrice can’t help the groan that escapes at that. It was the most logical conclusion, given Ava’s propensity for always being involved in societal gatherings, and Beatrice’s absolute hatred of going anywhere remotely populated. “Ava-”
They stop suddenly. Ava’s feet planting, as if Beatrice’s aversion to societal events is newfound rather than habitual personal preference. Their arms stay entwined long enough to force Beatrice to pivot, turning to face Ava. Ava who releases her arm only long enough for warm fingers to curl around Beatrice’s forearms. A preventive measure forcing Beatrice to absorb the full force of Ava’s disappointment.
“Bea, please you have to come.”
There’s a reason Beatrice has actively avoided any mention of the dance. Ava’s fingers ease in their restrictive grip, shifting into something gentler. A thumb smoothing over the raised skin of her forearm. Ava’s eyes are somber now, and honestly? Beatrice gets the feeling that there’s a level of authenticity to this. It cements the fact that if Beatrice doesn’t attend, it’ll compromise Ava’s ability to enjoy the evening.
“You really want me there?” Beatrice hates how hopeful she sounds.
“I really do.”
“Then I’ll be there.” Beatrice relents. It’s a decision of her own making after all, one that has absolutely nothing to do with the rush of heat pulsing through her with every gentle brush of Ava’s thumb.
“It starts at 7. Don’t be late!”
Ava practically cheers, pushing onto her toes to press a kiss to Beatrice’s cheek. “See you tonight!”
Ava’s long gone by the time Beatrice finally blinks, pressing her fingers against her cheek absently.
Fuck.
clawing my way into the asks again like a little parasite ahem. Thoughts on susato 👁👁
oh my god susato... *breaks down into sobbing* i actually finished the game an hour or two after i saw this ask and wanted to give it a little bit of time to sit in my head before i started trying to analyze things ^_^; but now i think i'm emotionally ready to think about her without destroying my own psyche. readmore cause this kind of turned into an analysis, albeit a very disorganized one
anyways SUSATO GOOD. i love her dynamic with ryuu so much, she's so competent but does still genuinely feel like a teenage girl at the same time. i think she's really the heart of the duology, especially dgs1, i mean she is literally the central piece of the emotional resolutions for each game and also the reason for 90% of the times i cried while playing. which, btw, was significantly more often than any of the other AA games ^_^; i was pretty much in tears from the moment the final trial ended to like, an hour after the credits stopped rolling. the idea of ryuunosuke going to japan without her absolutely destroyed me because he was so depressed during that six month gap :( and i was so relieved that they would continue to change the world together
also can i just say her design and sprites are incredible?? not only is she just. the fucking cutest. her animations and poses are so sweet, oh my god her expressions are amazing, they perfectly encapsulate her yamato nadeshiko elegance, her deep strength & tenacity & curiosity, and even hints at her deeper feelings of inadequacy. i mean god i am thinking about her teary-eyed smile that rips my heart to pieces every time and her stunned expression when she sees the masked assistant. screaming sobbing wailing banging my fists on the table. the same goes for her theme but like times a hundred, like, i don't really know anything about music so i can't explain why but it's so unbelievably perfect for both her and the overall tone of the game. honestly it might beat out turnabout sisters for my favorite track in the series
which by the way, it's so cool how she immediately breaks from the mold of typical AA assistants with her demeanor. she's the picture of temperance and humility, and despite her age she is the heart of the story and a guiding light in ryuunosuke's journey. this stands in huge contrast to characters like maya, who has an incredibly strong heart but really feels like a child lost in a world of suddenly inherited responsibilities and murderous family conflicts that she's 100% not equipped to handle. none of that is to say that i think all the AA assistants are the same because they are absolutely not, but they do have similar ~vibes~ so it's really refreshing to have a protagonist-assistant dynamic that feels so different from the outset.
but then 1-2 kind of destroys whatever initial perception you had of her right? because now susato's out here being actively hostile to you in spite of the slow trickle of evidence exonerating ryuunosuke. she literally attacks you like five times and hardly ever smiles. because just like ryuunosuke, asougi's boundless determination bled into her, to the point that she p much dedicated her life to studying so she could go to london in order to help him. and now that he's gone, she's left completely lost at sea. literally :(
personally i think her attitude after ryuu provides some reasonable doubt is very telling. first, it shows that she's extremely levelheaded in the face of a crisis, because even though it would be so so so easy and even cathartic to blame ryuunosuke, she realizes that it would be unfair and resolves to help him prove his innocence. however, even though it's clear she does believe in ryuu, we still get a bunch of moments where she makes digs at him and acts randomly suspicious again before moving on. these are probably just little jokes not meant to be taken seriously by the writers, but like i can't help but look into them more and wonder if susato is projecting onto ryuunosuke, due to their aforementioned similar situations. i think she's very frustrated with herself for being so helpless. she clearly bases her self worth on her use as a judicial assistant (which is not so healthy but we're getting there), but without kazuma, what does her help and expertise even matter? and she sees that resemblance between herself and ryuunosuke and takes her frustration out on him, even if she doesn't think he actually killed asougi. she reminds me a lot of godot in this case tbh.
speaking of susato having unreasonably high expectations for herself and other people, HEY THAT'S ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTER TROPES
Tumblr media
*gets emotionally ripped to shreds by the narrative*
it's quite clear that the high expectations she has of her loved ones-- mainly ryuu, kazuma, sholmes, and gina-- is her version of unflinching belief. every time she encourages ryuunosuke, she's saying things like "i know you can handle this" and "you have everything you need to take this on, so don't give up now" and she is certainly not lying or exaggerating. susato is the one who decided that ryuunosuke deserves to carry on with asougi's legacy, and therefore there's kind of an implicit don't disappoint me in there. nothing demonstrates this more than what she says to gina in the prison:
Susato: I'm sorry to say...that I must reluctantly bid you farewell. Gina: Eh? Farewell? Susato: Tomorrow, I must begin my journey back home. To Japan. ...I fear we may never meet again. Gina: ...! Oh...right... Susato: I've had the pleasure of meeting so many lovely people here in London. I have so many wonderful memories. And yet...as things stand now... ...it will be a glum parting indeed. Poor Iris is so miserable. Iris: Susie... Gina: Well...well...that ain't my business! Susato: Both Iris and Mr Naruhodo believe you to be innocent, Gina. They've put their faith in you. But somehow...you can't find it in your heart to put your faith in them. Gina: Yeah! That's right, I can't! ...Wot of it? Susato: It grieves me greatly to have to say goodbye to my friends when they are so clearly unhappy... ...because of you. Gina: ...! Wot, it's MY fault?! Susato: Yes. So I have one final request, Gina, before our paths never cross again. Right here and now... ...I want you to show both of them that you don't deserve the faith they've invested in you. Gina: Eh?! Susato: Only by doing that... ...will you truly be as alone as you claim to be.
this was like The Moment where i did kind of a double take and went, holy shit, susato is the best character in this game, i get it now. because we're seeing what it looks like when susato is disappointed in you. this the final chance she's extending to gina and she just gets right to business with "i'm tired of wondering if you're going to trust me, so if you're so determined to push away the people who care about you then i expect you to be straight with me. you need to decide right now if you are truly committed to destroying this chance at happiness because i can no longer accept the way you're treating my friends. and if you can prove to me that you're not worth it then i will give up on you." and not only is this fucking perfect because it's exactly the push that gina needs, it shows the epitome of what makes susato so great: her balance! she knows when to hold back and be patient and she knows when to assert herself. she really makes me think of the temperance card in tarot in that way. gina was never going to take to iris' puppydog eyes or ryuunosuke's insistence that he believes in her; she needed somebody to take her anxieties seriously and then say "oh yeah? prove it." and it is so terribly Lawyer of her to pull the evidence card like that, it makes me absolutely insane. i'm going to think about this forever
it's pretty explicit in dgs1 that she expects the most out of herself though with her thinking that she's a failure of a judicial assistant for losing faith, which is something she shares with asougi. asougi is carrying the weight of his family's legacy on his back and the responsibility of changing the world. i don't know a lot about meiji era japan but i know it would have been extremely challenging to become a defense attorney. there is no room for error with him. they also both try to punish themselves when they don't meet those expectations-- susato trying to throw her legal book into the ocean and asougi doing, uh, literally everything he does in dgs2, but specifically giving karuma to ryuunosuke. i wonder if he learned it from her >_>
i will be honest i'm not 100% sure how i feel abt the way she was handled in dgs2, i don't think she was poorly written or anything! just kind of lacking the bite she had in dgs1. it's hard to compare the way she reacts to gina disappointing her vs the way she reacts to kazuma disappointing her, because gina is her cool friend while kazuma is literally her dead adopted brother who came back to life and is kind of being a legendary asshole about it. so like, i'm not gonna say it's definitely inconsistent or out of character for her to react to asougi's Whole Deal by just kind of frowning in the background, but idk i wish she'd had a more active role in that conflict or been allowed to do something. like, they only exchange a couple of lines throughout the whole game and i think that was a huge waste. i would have at least liked to see a follow up of her and ryuunosuke's conversation about his body going missing, now that they know he's alive, because i find myself being unable to parse how she feels about the whole thing. i really expected her to be angrier or to show something bigger than "wow :( this fucking sucks :(" like SHE'S NOT WRONG! but there was so much opportunity to take it in a different direction.
anyways i think the ending of dgs2 is perfect because she's actively rejecting that path that's been expected of her, she was always supposed to stand by asougi's side and yet she allows herself to be selfish and follow ryuunosuke instead. yes, she knows when to be assertive, but she only ever does it for the benefit of other people. here she knows what she wants and is determined to pursue it-- i think it's absolutely wonderful and i am so proud of her ;-; in the first game she would have had to go back home alone, afraid for her father and for gina and for everyone else that she loves, believing that she had failed ryuunosuke and by extension, kazuma and his legacy. but here she gets to go back home of her own volition and continue to follow the path she believes in, assured in her worth and knowing that she has a true friend by her side and all that is to say i fucking love susato so much and i am losing my entire mind over her and i expect to be doing so for the rest of my days
what do you think bsd is trying to say about war? do you have any other thoughts about political themes present in the story?
oh i have,,, thoughts,, for sure. also these are more loose threads that have been floating around in my head more than a concrete thesis so sorry if they dont make much sense as a whole
one thing i think is crucial to discussing bsd as a political story is to look at which countries' authors asagiri choses to include in the story.
obviously the main cast is japanese, but the other prominent characters come from usa and russia, and if you also take in characters from the light novels or ones, who have been foreshadowed to be important (like agatha), france and the uk come to mind. those are all states with imperialist past/present, and while there are none morally pure countries this specific selection is still pretty intense all things considered. many of the authors included in bsd were also involved politically one way or another (most had been active during the first half of the 20th century, and wrote about war one way or another)
the imperialism isnt really touched upon, unfortunately so, but ( and maybe this is just me being hopeful) i like to think its less about asagiri not seeing it and more about him not wanting to open another sensitive topic in an already complicated work of fiction.
ultimately i'd say bsd is anti-war. that's the most prevailing political theme, and one that has been slowly revealing itself and becoming more prominent the further we go into the story. worth noting is how elements that could've (and maybe should have) been shown as explicitly political avoided this framing in earlier parts of the story (fukuzawa's old profession, kunikida's ideals), but ig there's still time for that. the anti-war sentiment ties back to a lot of the works that the abilities are named after, esp in the agency. no longer human, thou shalt not die, the makioka sisters (tanizaki's light snow) are all prime examples (and kunikida's ability could technically be put under this too depending on how you look at it, since his war journalism is what made him a prominent literary figure). even if some of the authors had some questionable opinion's irl, the parts that asagiri choses to include always come back to the horrors of war.
decay of angels is another thing, given it's named after mishima's last novel, one that he left to his publisher on the same day he started a coup trying to restore the emperor of japan and commited seppuku. there was a theory i saw a while back that said bram wasnt actually a doa member, and the 5th person is yet to be revealed, and it'd be really interesting if we got mishima in bsd but he's still to this day a pretty polarizing figure (understandably so) and im not sure if asagiri would want to take that step, since it'd be a point of no return in terms of explicit politics in the story. and he's been pretty timid with that i mean look at the way he handles police brutality (cops in yokohama being portrayed as incompetent yet ultimately good people, jouno going from prime example of someone knowingly abusing their power to apparently caring abt the innocents, and this is obv a different, more complicated topic so uhh idk maybe ill talk abt it some other time adgsfgagd). idk it just seems like he's afraid to really push the ideas forwards, keeps them palatable to the general public although idk if this is a concious choice or not. im willing to give asagiri the benefit of the doubt bc of how he handles fukuchi though. people hate him bc??? idk he's not a twink and he killed someone ig but personally i adore him, goofy aah guy imo. it'd be easy to write him off as just an autoritarian crazy guy who wants to take control of the world for unspecified "greater good" but the arguments he makes are generally pretty compelling! and not just to readers, we see atsushi questioning the way world works and government's role after listening to fukuchi explain himself. its fukuchi's methods that are questionable not the ultimate goal of state abolition. and we still dont really know what his ultimate reason for doing all this is, just that he claims it's not revenge on fukuzawa, so im curious how this is going to get handled.
and the last thing is the brief anticapitalism theme in the guild arc but again, its like asagiri gave up on it before it became too prominent. fitzgerald is the ultimate capitalist and we see this esp in relation to steinbeck, whose dislikes list finansists in the enligh translation and capitalists in the polish one (no idea what is listed in japanese exactly). but fitzgerald is ultimately sort of redemed, with his (and poe's) wealth treated as a gag rather than a human rights violation
those are all the things that have been ping ponging around in my head and i hope this is in any way at least a little bit understandable. there are some things here that deserve a post of their own but id have to reread at least the last few arcs to talk about them in depth.
For Dabi/hawks:
Who has a more sensitive nose? Who’s needier when they’re sick?
HFJDJEJDDJWJEJRJ idk why but my brain short circuited for a sec
Ive been imagining hawks as having a more sensitive nose. Both would be so meow tho. I feel like hawks would have spring allergies and Dabi would have fall allergies. Hawks would be allergic to cats and Dabi would be allergic to mold.
Dabi gets sick more look at his body. They’re both like gotta just brush it off when sick Dabi only would rlly rest if he knows it’s gonna be bad but def is better at self care bc it’s necessary. Hawks is like if ignore it it’ll go away cant stop won’t stop.
Hawks wouldn’t know that being needy is an option. Like. When has anyone ever cared for him rip.
Dabi probably misses being cared for but tries to just ignore it and do what he has to do.
Hawks probably actually needs help if it’s like oh yea u have a fever and like sound absolutely horrible pls go home u are a biohazard. And he’s like drinking his canned coffee and trying to eat whatever or maybe he gets soup. Maybe he buys the wrong medicine or just like oh I’ll just get rid of the fever and get back to work. Mask the symptoms chug this cold medicine.
Love the idea of Dabi forcing hawks to lie tf down. Hawks being like I want to be able to take a break but the idea of not doing his job(s) and protecting Japan and innocents is like making him actually so anxious
Could see Dabi naturally feeling worse than hawks. Would probably hiss like a feral cat if u try to come near him but like actually ok yea he does want a hug. He does want ppl to say it’ll be ok. His heart is broken. Dabi and hawks are broken ppl and Dabi is broken outside in and hawks is broken inside out and they have enough pieces between them to almost be whole and they would have an unspoken kinda way of taking care of each other.
I could see either of them breaking down after being embraced while sick. Like just shocked and the other holding them 🥺
Ty for the ask idk if this answered it well but 💞 much love. Have a good day
Hey, so something's been bothering me since Yuno's second trial, and i've yet to see anyone point it out, i'm not sure if this is relevant or anything, but...
Who's the daddy?
Like, we've had two trials now, and almost no information on which client was the father. My best guess is Schoolgirl Yuno, and that's just because she actually seems to like that one? She's the only one that's never blue, she dissapears after the abortion is done, and the coat from t2 is hers
I love her, she's one of my faves, but i keep getting the sinking feeling that we missed something vital. And since the father is the only thing that hasn't been explained, i'm kind of fixating on it endlessly (contrary to her wishes, but we have a job to do babe, sorry)
I'm not sure where i was going with this, but... thoughts?
(sorry if this is a weird ask, honestly i'm just kind of losing it and i need someone to tell me if i'm focusing on the wrong thing. Also hi, this might actually be the first thing i've done on Tumblr. So, hi?)
Hi! It's definitely not a weird question to ask at all. I've discussed how a lot of things regarding Yuno were overlooked during her first and second trial. Mostly focusing on the very purposeful ignoring of her feelings regarding her crime and our verdict.
I feel like a lot of people neglected to look in the father of the child in favor of turning Yuno's case into a pro-choice vs anti-abortion debate. It was a politicization tactic that ended up working in Yuno's favor but something I very much believe she will dislike given her statements during her first interrogation,
In her first interrogation four minutes and thirty-four seconds into it she says this to Es after she says it's her belief Es won't be able to judge the prisoners.
"Ah! No that's not it. It's different from what you're thinking, prison guard."
"Then, could you let me hear about it in more detail."
"Well, this has been on mind ever since I first heard about the system... Prison guard, you decide who's guilty and innocent here, don't you?"
"That's right."
"Prison guard, that's nothing more than your likes and dislikes, right? I'm not super well read in it... But Japan's a nation where the rule of law prevails, right? Getting people to decide on what's good or bad outside of that will make them go all haywire, won't it?"
She then elaborates-
"For example, news outlets. They always make a big fuss about adultery, inappropriate comments, immodesty and so on... Right? Just to start criticizing the people who make appearances on there. Don't you think it's all so ridiculous? There's no end to how much people will punish one another outside of the law."
What happened during Yuno's second trial the reasoning people displayed fed into the same thing that Yuno herself admonishes during her first interrogation. The policization and scrutinizing of individuals lives outside the realm of the law. Something that rarely ever ends and extends the duration of pain that all parties may be experiencing.
This is in my opinion why the father of Yuno's child was conveniently overlooked. The political framing used to secure her innocent verdict isn't about the father but Yuno having the right to do whatever she chooses with her body. As it is her right and something she should be allowed to do regardless of anyone else's opinion.
Yet, it's not difficult for people to see how that framing conveniently ignores the fact that some random ass adult man may have gotten an eighteen-year-old pregnant. Or how that eighteen-year-old was to their own blatant admission a sex worker. Meaning that there were probably legal steps taken or put in place around all the work she'd been doing including contingencies in the case a pregnancy did occur. Something the new translation of Undercover alludes to-
"“UNDER” My cord’s being pulled but nothing’s ever enough Contractual desires, oh what to do, FUTURE."
Along with lyrics in Umbilical,
"Am I a bad girl? Please don’t answer What do you want to do? Please tell me."
"What type of girl do you like? I want to become like that, but that’s probably too hard for me."
I think a lot of people within the Milgram fandom are too young to understand sex work is work with legal restrictions and polices around it. Work that attracts many high-profile individuals as clientele. It can involve NDA's and contracts that the workers themselves have to sign. It can also lead to news scandals that can go on for months on end if those high value clientele are found to have met with sex workers at any point let alone are found out to have gotten one of those workers pregnant.
In Tear Drop it's alluded to that there are several possible options for the father of Yuno's child. The several different versions of her outside of the lingerie one being stand ins for her clientele. It seems to me that Yuno wanted this man to be the father given the lyrics that appear alongside these images,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The wanted wanting the wanter. The overlap, isn’t that some sort of perfection? “Poor naive little girl”? So off the mark, what’s it to you? It’s just absurd."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, chances are the father of the child was one of her clients and taking into consideration how sex work can be her getting pregnant at all could be considered a breach of contract. If one of her clients could prove that she did it on purpose.
Hence the repeated line of "I messed up. I found out." as Yuno giggling can also be heard. I've discussed the whole concept of pregnancy entrapment before when it comes to Yuno mostly in regards to getting her a 50/50 because it was apparent to me being voted overwhelmingly innocent for the reasons people were stating would more than likely piss her off more.
Because it conveniently overlooks every other thing, she's been saying since the beginning in favor of just keeping what looks the best. Ultimately, though the father of the kid was more than likely one of her several clients who she represents as the version of herself she was while with them. Basically, the outfits she wore to match with them while out.
Q.28   How do you decide what clothes to wear for the day?
Haruka: I wear what’s there
Yuno: I pick something to match with the person I’ll be with.
Though since the guy with the watch is all we see in the second video he's probably the one Yuno liked back and possibly wanted to be with.
Candy Color Paradox episode 4
Having vented my complaints, and after some helpful conversations about the show, I was better able to enjoy this episode for the fluff that the show is rather than being frustrated about what it is not. I mean, I still think that it's missing a lot of opportunities to explore some interesting themes around ethics, celebrity journalism, Kaburagi's cool boy pose and the way he uses sex for his job, Onoe's... not innocence, but whatever it is that makes him a blushing maiden uke, and everyone's feelings about sex in general. But I accept that's not what the show wants to do. It is straight up yaoi archetypes and a silly plot to smash them together. ("Now kiss.") The glancing look at deeper questions is probably accidental.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said, here is what I thought while watching this episode:
- lol it looks like they heard my complaining about how bad they were at stalking people because the literal first conversation in this episode is about how they're too obvious in a parked car 😂
- ooh la la, and they're in a love hotel 😳🤭😉 How risqué. Poor little blushing uke. 🥺
- Aw poor Onoe. He was all ready to fuck then and there. (Or maybe just kiss? I'm not sure how he interpreted the phrase that Gaga translated as "let's do it.")
- It seems odd to me that a paparazzi photographer is also the one taking official portraits. Is that a real thing (in general or in Japan specifically) or just a contrivance for the plot here. Not important, just curious.
- More extremely jealous Onoe 😂 To be fair, I too would be jealous under the very confusing circumstances he's in.
- I hope we get Kaburagi photographing Onoe. Bonus points if Onoe doesn't notice him doing it. I love that trope and what's the point of having a photographer character if you don't use it.
- Haruta is blatantly flirting lol. I suspect that Kaburagi is trying to see if he can catch Inami in jealousy with this hair fixing maneuver, but he's caught Onoe in his net instead. 😂
- But are these actors dating/in love? Is the father/little sister thing a ruse or their genuine feelings? Now I want to know, not because I care about these imaginary celebrities, but because I feel like the answer will say something about the show's perspective on paparazzi ethics.
- Is Onoe putting the pieces together about Kaburagi's purpose? And does Inami's expression while on his phone indicate jealousy or disinterest? I honestly can't tell the answer to either of those.
- Innocent Onoe is literally eating vanilla yogurt while bad boy Kaburagi is smoking.😂
- Go Onoe! Bravely asking Kaburagi what he meant be "I like you." I'm so proud.
- On the one hand, I'm annoyed at Kaburagi for acting so aloof and not taking Onoe's understandable frustration seriously. On the other hand, "smutty alien" is adorably hilarious and I can't blame him for laughing fondly at it. I do wonder if it's a literal translation, or an actual phrase in Japanese, or if it's as random and absurd as it sounds in English.
- Onoe is so obvious when he tails people 🤣
- Inami is pulling an Issei and killing the paparazzi stalker with kindness. I love it. Perhaps that is just how celebrities in Japan deal with paps? I don't know.
- Inami is cute though. And very young looking for supposedly 40. Though the actor is 36, so not that far off.
- Oh the meta levels of young new actors trying to shake off their idol images. I have no idea if Kimura Keito and Yamanaka Jyutaro are actually trying to shake off their idol images, but it does feel a bit ironic or something.
- Onoe. Where is your journalist's skepticism. Are you always this credulous or is it because your brain has been turned to mush by your crush?
- I see Kaburagi wonders the same thing. Perhaps we're both being unfair to Onoe and he just has good instincts.
- Kaburagi noticed Onoe's yogurt and brought him the same kind! Cracks in the facade! Feelings creeping back in. And brave Onoe immediately goes to ask him...
- and... a mid-sentence cliffhanger.
- Looks like next week it'll be Kaburagi's turn to be jealous. And we get more Inami. Being flirty even. Hooray for me!
There probably are things I could say about their developing relationship, the slow melting of Kaburagi's numbness and cynicism, and Onoe's (honestly wise) anxiety about falling for this confusing ice prince (or tsundere seme, to use yaoi vocabulary), but I frankly don't care enough about the characters or this relatively shallow take on this conventional romance arc to think much about it. Still, now that I'm thinking of them as cartoons come to life I'm enjoying them a lot more.
