RANT i’ve been thinking about

ZD is such a thought provoking and self reflecting film and it sucks that most people view it from only one perspective or preconceived bias of what is taboo / “morally incorrect” in media. it has significantly larger meaning than just the “school shooter” movie. it’s hypocritical of people who are interested in, for example, slashers to criticize a fictional movie and or it fans because of the content material. lots of people find comfort or interest probably because of the deeper messages and emotions behind it, and relating to cal or andre because of (in my opinion) well representation of REALISTIC mental illness instead of “socially correct” mental illness isn’t bad. self-destructive and harmful behavior, even though it is negative, is unfortunately a major part of struggling with mental illness. OBVIOUSLY what they did is wrong; in no way does the movie try to make them out to be guilt free and their mental illness is not an excuse. however i dont think its crazy whatsoever for people to enjoy it because a significantly large amount of people in this fanbase are mentally unstable (no offense guys…) and i don’t think anyone should be painted as a bad person because you vent or even just cope with violent/dark media instead of harming yourself and or others irl. “art is meant to comfort the disturbed 🤓” OR WHATEVER.. putting emotion towards fiction in general helps me personally and methinks it is a great movie besides its cinematography and whateva… ok DONE

Y'know, something I really like about the smg4 fandom us that none of us really have a heartstopping amount of likes or fame. We're all kind of just a small fandom that shares our silly lil doodles n' maybe masterpeices that take hours of work, kinda like a school presentation but fun. Some of us do have large amounts of people supporting us, but mostly all of us just make doodles for fun n' hope we just entertain others. Some fandoms I've been a part of are huge and have tens of thousands of likes or fans, but ones like smg4 just feel like a warmer and more similar leveled place, y'know?

You see a figure sitting on the beach a short distance away, arm outstretched to the shore for reasons unknown. Their silhouette the same oscillation between images of anything and nothing.

Once River Person sees the vast ocean, they feel a ton of tension that they didn't realize that they had been holding... simply evaporates and they sigh with great relief.

They don't even care if it's overcast and grey, or if it's even MORE water, it feels very good to have a change of scenery after being inside the Underground for so long, they have to wipe the tears from their eyes, feeling mixed emotions, overjoyed to have this view, but guilty that the monsters don't get to see it too... not yet anyway.

They then realize that they feel safe, very safe, and pretty warm, so they pull down their hood, revealing their very messy long hair.

They then turn to finally properly look at the creature that brought them here, to thank them, but for a second.. is caught off guard by his appearance, and it's not because they find him off-putting, but for much more positive reasons.

They then smile when he turns to River Person and greets them.

"Tra la la la~ hello," *bites back what would have been a flirty compliment* "It's nice to meet you, thank you very much for bringing me here, I've been in dire need of a little vacation,"

I just went and cleaned out my Pinterest boards and it’s like…. So weird to see how I’ve changed over the years?? Like when I made the account I was 14 or 15, obsessed with Star Wars and classic rock/glam rock bands?? And back then I was saving pins of old rock stars, thinking it was weird to have boards for anime characters…. And now here I am with a 6600+ pins board of Law, thinking it’s weird to be overly obsessed with celebrities 💀

Oh...oh they...they actually planned for Wilf to shoot Moles the entire time, even before Bernard's death... ...So there goes that excuse for the shooting moles thing being to avoid showing Wilf... Also they somehow planned for it to be worser basically- because already the idea of a character who doesn't like killing and never wants to do it being off shooting moles is just, gross and a clear mis-understanding of his character, but the fact that they planned to show him doing it in a such a jolly manner, even when his great-granddaughter tells him to leave the moles alone...

So I've been watching some animations/animatics/seeing some art and I just want to make a little thing-

here we can see the artist has drawn the front view of their character:

It's very cute! stylized and simple, it really is a nice style!

Oh? the artist wants to show their character turning their head to the side? Great! let's see what they made!

this seems to be what the artist has come up with

is there anything inherently wrong with what they've drawn?

No! it's a fine drawing when shown by itself

...but my issue is that it doesn't match the original style they conveyed when the character was facing forward.

When you intend to draw a character multiple times in different poses, expressions, and directions it's important to draw them consistently unless the point of the character/art is to be inconsistent.

here are some of my examples of consistent characters with front and side views:

Are they perfect? Absolutely not! but they flow into each other smoother when done like this

do you have to draw the character the same way in different artworks? No!

but when drawing a character intended to be drawn consistently like in a comic, animation, or animatic...

This-

can be quite a jarring experience.

I don't mean to bash anyone who draws like this or likes this style of doing art, this is just my personal opinion and you don't have to follow this at all.

Also- I'm not a pro! The drawings I have shown here aren't professional in any way and I ask that you please don't take them as such.
