When the light dims, you find yourself on a sandy beach surrounded by tropical trees. It reminds you of pictures of island paradises in the Pacific

No red illumination can be found anywhere. It's overcast with grey clouds. Waves crash against the shore, providing an ambient noise that overshadows the whistling of leaves in the wind.

You see a figure sitting on the beach a short distance away, arm outstretched to the shore for reasons unknown. Their silhouette the same oscillation between images of anything and nothing.

A great wolf.

(Big credit to black-aengel-07 for this commission he did for me. It is a snippet of a larger work he did for a roleplay server we share.)

Once River Person sees the vast ocean, they feel a ton of tension that they didn't realize that they had been holding... simply evaporates and they sigh with great relief.

They don't even care if it's overcast and grey, or if it's even MORE water, it feels very good to have a change of scenery after being inside the Underground for so long, they have to wipe the tears from their eyes, feeling mixed emotions, overjoyed to have this view, but guilty that the monsters don't get to see it too... not yet anyway.

They then realize that they feel safe, very safe, and pretty warm, so they pull down their hood, revealing their very messy long hair.

They then turn to finally properly look at the creature that brought them here, to thank them, but for a second.. is caught off guard by his appearance, and it's not because they find him off-putting, but for much more positive reasons.

They then smile when he turns to River Person and greets them.

"Tra la la la~ hello," *bites back what would have been a flirty compliment* "It's nice to meet you, thank you very much for bringing me here, I've been in dire need of a little vacation,"

somehow instead of saying "as a treat", I've started using the phrase "for morale", as if my body is a ship and its crew, and I (the captain) have to keep us in high spirits, lest we suffer a mutiny in the coming days.

and so I will eat this small block of fancy cheese, for morale. I will take a break and drink some tea, for morale. I will pick up that weird bug, for morale.
