I Made a lil pencil test of this Laika's comet panel :> @laikascomet

Needed a character to do character animation, because I'm rusty, and decided on Laika because she is so shaped, @catmask

I'll clean this up and add a bit more of secondary movement ~

The above image of Pathfinder's zoomed in scales comes from her introduction chapter in TBC. Those are the best scales I've ever drawn and probably ever will. Or, who knows, I might try again sometime soon. The problem with iridescent scales is that if light isn't hitting them at a specific angle they look black, which doesn't make for very nice looking art. Or I'm just stupid and haven't found a good enough angle/lighting setup yet.

That really awkward pose in the bottom right was based off komodo dragons. I just like the idea of someone like Morrowseer strutting around like that and couldn't resist. Similarly, the bottom left pose mimics a crescent moon.

Angel Moon and Demon Sun designs inspired off this episode of masm, plus a little extra half demon half angel design of my oc Comet!

And after nearly a decade, Comet finally has a story: made of pure stardust, the being named ‘Comet’ fell to Earth and was promptly taken for observation. Scientists discovered he felt no pain, and could regrow any piece of himself that was removed. They began cutting him apart one little piece at a time to study him, letting the pieces regrow before taking another. The removed specimens only lasted a short time before dissolving into dust, so many pieces were removed multiple times. Comet himself seemed to have no thoughts or opinions on the matter, cooperating wordlessly with even the most gruesome of procedures. Some of the scientists believe he is nothing more than an empty vessel, a husk of stardust that mimics whichever species it makes contact with. Others believe he may be biding his time, waiting to strike them all down in revenge when they least expect it. But day after day, Comet continues to be silently obedient, watching all those around him with his pale, glistening eyes.

Eventually, I like to imagine something goes horribly wrong at the facility where he’s housed. Maybe a different entity housed there breaks free, and begins hunting down every human. Maybe Comet must be protected from the entity, as consuming his stardust will make it stronger. Or maybe Comet allows the entity to feast on pieces of him when it needs energy, and he remains indifferent to the pleas of the humans for help. Maybe there’s no other entity, and it’s Comet who decides he’s done with being experimented on. Maybe he decides it’s time to go home to the stars, and becomes a walking supernova that disintegrates anyone who tries to stop him leaving. I’m leaving that part open for now! Maybe I’ll decide in another decade what to do lol

With IceWings, exaggerating the thinness of their tail is always fun, making it look more whip-like. I also really like the idea of their dragonets being really blubbery (to keep warm until they get used to the cold). Round dragonets are super cute too, but that might just be me projecting a human's love of small cuddly round things.

I really do like that flying pose, even if the screen right talon creates a tangent with the wing membrane. I'll fix it later (I won't).
