i think its a little silly to get paranoid that lily orchards dungeon meshi video will have people turn on dungeon meshi to the degree people think her su video did. first of all bc people were already frustrated with su when her video came out so she was just riding the wave of that hatedom (just look at how much of the video is plagiarized from people who either dont stand by those takes anymore or worded them in a way that was far more coherent and respectful) but also because shes mostly seen as a joke by most of the animation community now. only her most diehard fans will probably turn on the show and most of those ppl are either teenagers who dont know any better and will be embarrassed about it later or people who are too far gone.

:[ Heres a morning hot take ig : no ygo character is ever as underated as any Zexal character, yes even the one you're thinking of right now. While there are some who don't have as much love, every series is respected and held up to an extent Except for Zexal.

You can say you like almost any other ygo character and people will nod and go 'Oh yeah! That's cool!' but nine times out of ten if you say you like Any Zexal character you're met with nervous chuckles and sympathetic smiles and ' Oh /them/ aren't they from /That/ show? ' with the only acception being Kaito because he has the trappings of a stereotypical Tragic Badass that they say should have been the protagonist because the idea of ygo having a not traumatized not mega competent and cool protagonist is too 'childish' for them.

Zexal was so underated that the fans got a whole season cancelled which resulted in season twos writing being hacked to pieces, it was so underated that people Harassed Yumas voice actor Out of Voice Acting while dogpiling the others, if there's ever a Zine or bang you can BET it's for Dm,GX,5Ds,Arc or Vrains but Never for Zexal, and there are people STILL judging and rolling their eyes at people who like it to this day!

I'm sorry ygo fandom but you have made it impossible for anyone else to be as underated as the characters you constantly never give a chance and then mock the people who like them as 'liking kid stuff'

my rewrite where uhhhhhhhhhh. everything is the same except the writers actually care about female characters. a lot of decisions were made because of actresses no longer being available so plotlines like fish's are more or less the same but like, Ivy either gets to grow up normally or is never a child at the beginning to start with (you can go the weird plant body route if you have to keep her relatively younger since this is a prequel ig), and I don't... even know what to make of KK or Isabella, and Sofia should just be fucking. dont tell me there isn't a single female italian bodybuilder who can act, I don't believe you. let her be buff. let her take up space. let her be huge and wear vintage fashion.

Random hot take i guess but i think at some point between legacy and beyond eddsworld stopped being a personal project and instead turned into a brand and that absolutely sucks but it's also unavoidable in capitalism.
