Fellow US Americans, when you see ICE agents / an ICE truck, if you are documented, it is your moral and ethical duty to do what you can to help your countrymen.

(They're technically supposed to make it known they're ICE, but sometimes they don't. If you see a police car with a big blue stripe like this, it's ICE.)

If you're able, scream, "la migra" (a Spanish slang term for immigration enforcement and border patrol officials)* and waste as much time as you possibly can. May I suggest running away, if you're able. (People who know more about this, please add on ways people with documents can slow ICE down.)

Know your rights in your state, but nationwide, documents or not, you have the right to remain silent, you can refuse to be searched, you do not have to sign anything, and you do not have to let anyone into your home without a warrant.**

*I can't find the source for the life of me, but I remember reading that most people who don't have documents in the US are from Central/South America, so Spanish is going to be a good bet. But if you can't remember the phrase, say it in English!

**Yes, I am aware that if you're arrested by ICE, you don't functionally have these rights, but so long as you're in your home, please exercise them. I love you <3

As of Jan 21st, 2025, a full copy of the constitution is no longer available on whitehouse.gov. I feel like this is a good time to remind everyone that the biggest threat to authoritarianism and facism is a well educated and informed population. Inform yourself and fight.

we really can’t overstate how damaging it has been to indoctrinate the public with the idea that if they let themselves eat as much as they want, they’ll eat too much. human bodies, when permitted over the long term to eat as much as they want, actually get really, really good at calibrating their hunger and satiety, and will over time eat exactly the right amount for themselves. the common conception of a balanced eater as a minimal or restrained eater is absolutely wrong. balanced eaters eat quite a lot (compared to diet cultural ideas about right intake amounts), and they do so consistently and permanently. healthy, balanced eating isn’t some tightrope walk, it’s a gigantic net of total permission to eat.

simply cannot ever resist what i call the little mermaid or the tin man or the pinnochio plot, the one about a character who is either inhuman or human but outside in some way, constantly searching for whatever it is that they consider to be the quintessential proof of humanity, preoccupied by it so deeply that they fail to realize the proof is in the act and fact of the search itself
