Its inarguable that daigo genuinely cherished mine as a confidant and a reliable ally. he valued mine not just for his stalwart loyalty, but how despite (or perhaps because of) that loyalty mine was prepared to disagree with daigo and not just be a self-serving yesman only after money or a semblance of power like other members of the tojo; because of mine’s readiness to risk going against daigo despite his position, daigo saw mine as someone who genuinely cared not just for him, but for the tojo clan that meant so much to him

When it comes to romantic feelings though, its never going to be as cut-and-dry as we’d like (unless you’re mine. Unless you’re a raging homosexual like mine.), so i can never- with confidence- say a character has romantic feelings for another (AGAIN. Unless You’re Mine). At the very least, it’s safe to say mine was more explicit about demonstrating that love, or at the very least he was given more chances to show how much he loved daigo, so it’ll always look one-sided going off of what we have so far <- delusional

If we want tho, we can have some fun with the franchise and implications and all. after the events of Y3 via an RGGO story, daigo visits the bar he and mine would frequent. Inside, the bartender brings up a special bottle of alcohol daigo was meant to share with mine, though because mine’s, daigo declines drinking it. Ultimately, he decided the bottle should only be opened if mine was there to share it with him, otherwise it would be pointless

I bring up this moment For Giggles because in Y7, kashiwagi the bartender weaves a similar story during nanba’s drink link. The story goes that he keeps an expensive brand of alcohol on his shelf because he wanted to give the bottle to his lover, though she died before they got the chance to share it and keeps it in honor of her

Obviously, the story’s just a silly front to trick people into coming in- but it is Dually funny considering the parallel to the mine/daigo situation..

I’ve been lvling MCH and I find it so utterly disappointing that they play the whole 'ishgardians refuse to use guns bc haha dumbass traditionalists' thing so straight bc I think it'd be really really interesting if it were more 'ishgard pushes back hard on stephanivien not bc of tradition but bc the vault realized that the fact guns don't require any training to use effectively means that a) they can no longer control the brume entirely by force and ideas of prestige and b) they can no longer play martial skill as honourable and necessary and force noble children into fighting the war so they push back on it citing 'tradition' when the real reason is denying power and the ability to take back your agency to the populace, especially in regards to brume residents and everything else is a convenient excuse' and straight up just says that everyone who has noticed this is just more smart than everyone else like.

people aren’t stupid. anyone with half a brain will know that attacking a dravanian at range is a far safer option that gets far less people killed than sending in the yeehaw rodeo lance boys or sword and board house knights to wrangle it physically, and you don’t need a gun to prove that, just archers. any ishgardian soldier will know that if you can harass an enemy that flies by throwing shit at it you might be able to get away with not having to fight it on its own terms.

this is only really further extended by the fact that HW DRG quests show the aftermath of an attack from ONE (1) strong dravanian on a whole contigent of trained dragoons, and it still kills three or four of them, wounds one, and the next best dragoon they have (Heustienne) attacks it, doesn’t kill it, and is forced to ride it for miles out into territory she can’t be rescued from, and this is with her ability to jump and the fact that these are guys who are very narrowly trained in the art of dragonslaying. meanwhile MCH quests show that you can kill a dragon of presumably similar strength AND a small horde with nothing more than three cannons, a handful of knights, and few dudes with guns that they aren’t even 100% proficient with and nobody dies.

like stephanivien’s work is so interesting re: mid-war ishgardian politics bc why would his workshop be consistently fucked with and sabotaged if it didn’t represent a massive threat to the existing status quo. why wouldn’t an extremely martial isolationist society see a far more powerful, safer option they don’t need to rely on anyone else to make to fight an enemy they are slowly but surely losing to but more importantly a) saves the lives of soldiers who would otherwise die and b) allows them to mobilize an entire population of people who wouldn’t be able to fight otherwise because they don’t have the months-long training it requires to even know how to use a sword or years-long conditioning it requires to be an effective archer or the training to be a dragoon.

like the vault obviously knows this. every soldier knows this. the vault has to know that a weapon that doesn’t require extensive training to use undermines their authority bc suddenly (quoting a friend here) when you can kill a dragon without directly risking your own life, ‘the grim necessity of war seems a lot less grim and necessary’.

like does the manufactory directly threaten the existence and prestige of the dragoons, because they take so long to train and so many of them die that it’s just not worth it anymore? is this a social issue the vault can manipulate to smear stephanivien and everything he touches, which further increases the pressures but on him by his house? by the time the WoL gets to Ishgard, is there a massive social conflict going on bc suddenly the brume can fight for its own agency, the vault is trying to hold onto it’s power and influence, and every soldier is forced to question why the Powers That Be refuse them access to a massive advantage in this war they’re losing?

VENGEANCE SAGA SPOILERS

So, I'm pretty active on TikTok. Idk if I've gotten on to some weird side of the EPIC fandom over there, but I've been seeing a weird amount of pearls being clutched over the end of the Vengeance Saga, specifically the last sequence of 600 Strike, and I for one am rather frustrated by it, so now you're gonna hear about it.

On one hand, there's the "It's out of character for Odysseus!!!"

I feel like this take just. Entirely ignores Ody's character development, or the context of 600 Strike. The reason Odysseus resorts to torturing Poseidon is because he's lost everything. Plus being so close to his ultimate goal before confronting the main reason he's lost so much. Of course he's gonna go to the extreme. On top of that, Odysseus has been being pushed closer and closer to taking extreme actions throughout the story (see: Ruthlessness, No Longer You, Monster, The Entire Thunder Saga). This is the natural progression.

The other major point I've seen is "Wouldn't Odysseus be punished for that??"

Simple. This version of Poseidon might be really petty, but it would make absolutely zero sense for him to either retaliate on his own (ex. flooding Ithaca) or go crying to Zeus for Ody doing… what Poseidon wanted him to. Reminder that when Poseidon relents, Odysseus is in the middle of saying "Didn't you say that ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves?" And second reminder that the first time we hear the "ruthlessness is mercy" mantra, Poseidon says he wants Ody to learn it (But before you go, I need to make you learn how // Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves). Odysseus did learn the lesson, and imo it wouldn't make sense story-wise for Poseidon to suddenly turn around like "Well I didn't mean like that"

TL;DR: Actually pay attention to characters before making dumb takes online, or people like me will make unnecessarily long Tumblr posts about how you're wrong <3

conformity in stranger things

(as we see it through the characters of steve, dustin and eddie)

dustin meets steve while steve is already heading down his own path — he’s leaving behind ideas about high school and relationships, and figuring out who he is without them.

steve, by season two, had already become disillusioned with the idea of high school, and power struggles, and being the most popular guy in school. which is why he doesn’t react to billy’s taunts.

despite what the fandom may have you believe, steve’s seasons long arc about his struggle with conforming to the person people expect him to be is done.

don’t get me wrong, steve is still hanging onto some ideas in s2, like pretending you don’t care to get girls, and seeing nancy as different to all his other girlfriends (though i personally think that speaks more to steve’s prior relationships than the way he views woman).

and so, dustin and their friendship play a major role in steve fully moving on from the concept of ‘conforming’. steve doesn’t want to change who he is to get people to like him, or love him!

and with dustin, he doesn’t!!!

they make up dorky handshakes, and give each other advice. they talk about girls and steve teaches him how to achieve his signature hairstyle.

their relationship impacts both boys, but neither of them are conforming. it’s pretty much the exact opposite!!! despite what some fans would have you believe steve and dustin have a positive impact on each other!!!

dustin doesn’t change who he is to impress steve! he’s just as dorky as before, and in fact imparts some of that dorkiness onto steve!! steve and dustin help each other to find who they are, and figure themselves out.

on the other hand.

eddie had a negative impact on dustin.

dustin in s3 is dorky. he likes science, and school, and building great big radio towers up hills.

dustin in s4 is failing classes, treating friends like shit, his hubris is at an all time high; all aided by eddie’s high opinion of himself and ideas about conforming.

see. when eddie talks about conforming, he doesn’t really understand what he’s talking about (which is why his fans don’t either).

when he criticised people for ‘conforming’, all he’s really talking about is people being interested in things he doesn’t like. parties. band. science. basketball. he looks down on them all.

he makes snap judgments, and reduces them down to stereotypes. we literally watch him learn this on screen!!!

we literally watch as he verbally recognises that he knew nothing about steve, and yet reduced him down to his interest in basketball.

and here’s where the irony comes in. eddie is literally leading the club on conformity.

everyone in hellfire wears the exact same thing, and he makes fun of the clothes they used to wear. he seats himself on a thrown, and judges anyone that wishes to come before him before he deems them worthy to play a game. he’s not accepting all losers. he’s literally telling them they’re lesser than as he stands on tables in the cafeteria, and then fights against erica playing with them… just because he thinks she has to prove herself to him first.

that’s the point of eddie’s character!! that his whole big speech at the beginning of the season is wrong. and we literally see how he’s wrong scenes later when eddie interacts with chrissy.

people watch eddie learn and grow as a person, and then reduce his character right back down to who he was when he was first introduced.

tl;dr — if one of dustin’s relationships is about conformity, it’s his friendship with eddie, not steve. his brother dynamic with steve is about the complete opposite. about reaching across dumb nerd v jock social divides and finding a family.

in looking up to eddie, dustin has let his other interests fall to the wayside. he’s snarkier, makes fun of steve more (just like he’s been watching eddie mock jocks for months), his friendships with the rest of the party are at an all time low.

and yet. some people would have me believe this is dustin’s truest self? who gets his mormon girlfriend to hack into his school because he’s failing latin. who mocks steve for ‘wanting to be a hero’ when just the season before he was prepared to die by steve’s side.

Somehow, I don't think I've ever truly taken the time to appreciate just how sort of... ridiculous Radovid's introduction scene is?

But it does make you wonder...

How often does King Vizimir just... randomly yell his name at the top of his lungs like that to get his attention, and then, just... basically lets him carry on, because turns out he didn't want anything from him?

He's like: "Nah, don't worry about it, 'bro! I just felt like loudly shouting your name in a crowd rather than simply telling Dijkstra that I'd decided you'd be leading the 'Princess Ciri finding efforts' from now on! Just reminding him of how adorable you are, you know? Look Dijkstra? Isn't he adorable? That's my baby brother with his little bottle making cute little "whoo! " sounds right there..."

Because, you know, once Radovid realises that his brother is calling him, he makes literally no effort to go see him, either!

I know he's playing dumb/drunk, but still!

"What's that?! Oh, okay! It's just Vizimir trying to locate me. Whoo!"

WHAT *IS* THAT?!

It's like a parent at a children's party suddenly going "SAMUEL!".

Child: *Stops playing to look at their parent.* "What?!"

Parent: "Oh, no worry, honey! I just wanted to make sure you hadn't run off, drowned in the pool, got kidnapped or something! But I see you've got your grape juice bottle and are having fun with your friends, everything's fine! Go on!" Child: "Yay!"

I mean, you might reasonably expect King Vizimir to shout Radovid's name in a crowd like that to get his attention so he can motion to him to come over, and then introduce him to someone he's never met before.

Which, on a meta level, is technically what he's doing: introducing Radovid to the audience.

But in Universe?!?!

It's Dijkstra. Dijkstra knows who the crown prince of Redania is, Vizimir! You could've just told him, and he'd have gotten it! No need to get all dramatic about it!

TL;DR: King Vizimir is a ridiculous drama queen that loves showing off his pet baby brother every chance he gets!

And Radovid's gotten so used to it by now, that he's totally stopped attempting to figure out what his big brother wants when he calls him.

What if it's not just Vizimir, though, and Radovid just has that reputation for constantly getting himself into trouble if left unsupervised for too long.

So, people at court have a habit of periodically shouting his name; just to get him to manifest himself in large crowds, or crawl out of whatever hole or tight space he's crammed himself into, make eye contact, and locate him.

Therefore, in my new personal headcanon, there's now a scene at the Thanedd Ball that pretty much goes:

- Dijkstra: "RADOVID!" - Philippa: *walking over to him* "I think I saw him leave earlier with his royal security detail. He's probably sniffed out the bard's scent..." - Dijkstra: "Oh, good! You made sure those guards understood their assignment, right?" Philippa: "Of course!"

***Meanwhile, in the nearby woods.***

- Captain of the guards: "RADOVID!" - Other guard: "It's no use sir, we've lost him! " - Captain: "Gods damnit! Dijkstra won't be pleased..." - Radovid: *having already put plenty of distance between them, on his way to go see Jaskier* "Whoo!"

It's a good thing Philippa wasn't with them, or what might have happened would have been something closer to:

- Philippa: "Don't worry! I've got this!" *in whispering tones* "Sabrina was right. Valdo Marx's compositions are far superior to Jask -" - Radovid: *instantly traveling across space and time to appear right before her* "Valdo Marx has NOTHING on Jaskier! sometimes i watch med students vlog because seeing them crunch so much information and spend so much time studying and practising motivates me by exposure to non-procrastinators but the other day i was watching an old yoora jung vlog and her sponsor was audible or some other book-related service from a multi-million dollar company and she was like "i started reading 12 rules for life by jordan b. peterson" and it really solidified two things in my mind:

a lot of people learn a lot about one specific topic but remain painfully ignorant and cannot think critically - not a new realisation of course, but a helpful reminder that highly productive people can be dumb as rocks in all the ways that truly matter

the higher your follower/subscriber count, the more high-profile your sponsors become, and ultimately the more soulless your recommendations are, because it doesn't matter what you consume or what you promote for other people to consume, it's the status that comes with being on amazon's payroll as an influencer that matters at the moment of working on sponsorship deliverables. she could've read any book but as an asian-american woman she actively chose to pursue a book written by the prophet of incels himself, whose followers actively fetishize and despise women like her (an asian, soon-to-be doctor stacy, destined to date a chad because "alpha women are for alpha men" if you will). as one of the three mustard fans i feel obligated to yap about him to anyone who will listen.

in the grand scheme of things he’s not particularly important, but the few scenes he’s in definitely are.

he brings up something that many people forgot while watching the show.

that even in a world where people can turn their skin into steel or shoot acid from their hands, a bullet is a bullet.

that no matter how powerful your quirk is, if you get shot in the head you’re gonna fucking die 😭 i mean unless you have a regeneration quirk but those are pretty rare and if someone unloads a revolver into your skull i doubt your quirk would be able to keep up with the damage.

it shows people that a villain doesn’t need a powerful quirk to be dangerous. someone who’s competent with a gun or a knife can be just as dangerous as someone like dabi.

he’s also extremely intelligent. being able to tell where people are based on the movement of the gas isn’t something inherently related to his quirk, it’s a learned skill. he’s also very skilled with his gun, he was able to destroy tetsutetsu’s mask with one point blank shot. as well as being able to hit the same spot multiple times to break through tetsutetsu’s hardening.

when kendo says that mustard carries a gun around because he “can’t win a fight on his own merits” as much as i love her, she’s really stupid for that.

snipe’s whole thing is guns. his quirk has nothing to do with guns inherently, he just chose to use them. and support gear is a massive industry in this universe.

and no one talks about why this middle schooler has a gun and is hanging out with the LOV. that’s not exactly normal middle schooler behavior.

i have some theories so bear with me while i ramble about him.

so obviously he has a villainous quirk. his gas can kill people if they’re exposed to a concentrated amount of it for long enough. and he can’t control where the gas goes, only how much he releases.

(this is more of a headcannon but i like it too much to not share it. his father can create small amounts of purple mist around his body, and his mother sweats bleach. but one of his grandparents could create an ammonia based gas. and what happens when you mix ammonia and bleach? you get mustard gas. ik it’s kinda dumb but i like it.)

i believe that he had a hard time controlling his quirk as a child. with strong emotions causing him to activate his quirk.

in this universe there’s definitely schools/institutions for kids with dangerous quirks. so his parents probably shipped off to one of those institutions so they didn’t have to deal with him.

i feel like he resents the UA students because if an employer sees they went to UA, they have a way higher chance of getting the job.

but when they see that he went to an institution for kids with dangerous quirks, he could be rejected on the spot.

Since you posted this ask to me Iam assuming that Iam one of the three mustard fans and Iam honoured to be recognised as such.

As you know I have talked about mustard before and the potential his storyline has here.

Your whole rant makes me think that mustard in canon is basically the vision people have for fanon villain izuku and I love it.

Mustard brings up a good point which is that people rely on their quirks too much because someone with a uselss or a weak quirk can still be dangerous and powerful by honing in their other skills. Heroes who rely on their quirks primarily and nothing else are the ones that get injured and hurt the most because even if you have a powerful quirk it's not guaranteed to help you in every situation. Sometimes quirks cant always go up against technology as we see in the vigilante arc technology can very much overpower strong quirks whether you like it or not.

Oh I actually do like your headcanon. Personally I have always interpreted mustard as having an anaesthetic type quirk something similar to midnight. I wish the series delved into midnight and mustard interactions especially because mustard is too young to go to jail as people in Japan can only be punished for their crimes when they're above the age of 14.

Reputations and public image are very important things in MHA whether you're a hero or not. Mustard going to that type of institution is interesting although I don't think there are any in canon. I have interpreted it as mustard having something similar to toga where they both suffered from horrible quirk counselling and were told to control themselves not taught how and an incident happend and they ended up here. However everything that comes to mustard to me is 10 times more interesting simply because of how young he really is and how vague everything about him is

This story is SO, so rich and deep and I can't even begin to cover it but I will try to be as thorough yet brief as I can for people who are interested!

TL;DR:

In a futuristic earth, the audience plays as a new hero in a world of alien invaders. When a sudden tragedy occurs, the world is revealed to be far darker than previously thought, and evil forces seem to be at play behind the scenes. Seeking the truth, our protagonist begins to investigate on her own.

On the outside, the story is about a heroine's journey, and also the internal struggle in seeking revenge and how far she'll go to find answers.

It's really about time loops, alternate universes colliding, and how far will you go for the one you love.

I'm going JUST off the main plot here not the myths or too far into the side stories and trying to avoid the in-game jargon:

About the three love interests in order of proximity to her:

Zayne:

Her childhood friend Zayne is introduced early on as her primary care physician and cardiologist. They spent 8 years apart and only recently reconnected. At this point in the story, he is the one she's closest given that history.

He is outwardly stoic but cares deeply not only about the MC but about people in general. This is widely noted by the hospital staff and patients you encounter.

He has an ice power that he uses sparingly and it's currently unknown whether or not it's because he doesn't have total control over it or because it causes him pain or...?

Secretly good at random things like he studied how to peel an apple perfectly in one go

Is shown to be very thoughtful. Always keeps candy around for MC (and his patients!) (they both have a sweet tooth problem)

Speedran med school (he's 27 good God)

Was a combat medic before taking up his current hospital residency

Plot-wise: he knows the most about MC's heart disease and a little about the evil forces who might be seeking to capture her? To me its obvious he may know a lot more than he lets on but he might be withholding to protect her

Xavier:

Xavier is introduced as a mysterious fellow hunter and colleague who is very powerful. They have odd run-ins and she's initially suspicious of him until his employment and position are confirmed by her supervisor, who seems to trust him greatly. Xavier is very knowledgeable about the antagonist's group (Onychinus, lead by the antagonist named Sylus) and what they are seeking. Proximity wise, he's her work partner and upstairs neighbor but it's unclear how much MC trusts him yet in the current plot.

Many things hint to him having lived a long, long time but his age is unconfirmed (he has mentioned he's around 23)

Has a light superpower, in that he can weaponize and control rays of light. Can also teleport.

Is probably definitely an alien

Has a secret alter-ego as a superhero vigilante called "Lumiere"

Is often shown needing to sleep to recover energy and finding out why killed me dead

Obviously knows more than he lets on

He's a bit standoffish with MC at first but this is revealed to be because he can't let her know too much and it's made clear he's very protective of her and shows up often to rescue her

Has a playful "play dumb" side

Rafayel:

Rafayel is a renown artist who is currently living in the same city. He's introduced as somewhat rude and maybe even arrogant. Because of his wealth and popularity, he's targeted by no-gooders and the MC is sent to investigate. She ends up being coerced into being his personal bodyguard-for-hire, in exchange for some information. Rafayel, too, knows more than he lets on and its clear very quickly that he is no ordinary artist. At this point, while they are friendly it's clear that he might be the person she trusts the least (just because she knows the least about him at this point and it's so, so obvious he's hiding a lot).

His paintings are implied to have occasional hypnotic abilities

Is obsessed with the ocean

His special power is fire and it can't be put out by water

Is older than MC

Its revealed to the audience but not MC that he is a Lemurian from the ancient and long gone civilization under the sea (not actually a merman but can and does take the form of one)

Has a strange work partner that may or may not be related to Onychinus but either way he's definitely involved in the underworld somehow

Initially comes off bratty, whiny, and demanding, seemingly thinking only of himself. Overall very over-dramatic

Has a lot of faith in MC for seemingly having just "met her"

Lore-wise: his backstory is very, very deep, tragic, and intriguing where you learn the brattiness is somewhat of an act

The Myths:

Each love interest has an equivalent "mythical" story self, either long, long in the past, long in the future, or simply an alternate world altogether. There's no official word yet on whether they're all connected, or if the myths truly happened. The myths at least add layers and layers to the love interest's personalities and interactions with the MC, at least in showing their deep care and also how they conduct themselves in different circumstances. In each myth, the MC is known to either be romantically involved or wanting to be romantically involved with the corresponding love interest. In all of the myths, the MC has the same heart disease. All the myths have tragic endings.

Rafayel: a former sea god

Xavier: an immortal prince

Zayne: a cursed demigod

About the MC:

The version of her in the main story was adopted by her grandmother-like figure (but no confirmation of true relation) alongside her adoptive brother, Caleb. They fit into the mix for only a brief moment in the story and both die tragically early on in an explosion. This being the event that shakes her world and sets her off on her journey to seek truth of what secrets her grandmother may have been hiding.

Can reincarnate

She's shown to be headstrong, determined, diligent, and a little mischievous.

Her superpower is "resonance" which. I'm still... a little lost on what that means altogether. We do know that she can "connect" and "enhance" other things so in the gameplay by "resonating" with the love interests' powers she can enhance their abilities and make them stronger and maybe even mirror them(??). Don't quote me on this. Anytime she does something I'm like "okk?? I guess she can do that now??"

Her heart is Broken™️ in that she has some kind of disease that only exists in that world. Something struck her heart in a catastrophe when she was young and is now just... lodged itself in there.

Whatever is lodged in her heart is what the evil group (and literally everyone) is seeking.

It's somewhat obvious in the plot that her power is actually going to be crazy OP and strong and that "Only She Has The Power To Save Us All" type of trope

Has a mischievous side

When she wants something, come hell or highwater she's gonna get it

Currently does not have feelings for any of the love interests in the main plot

There's so many layers, so much to uncover, but the main plot is relatively simple so far. The gameplay is fun, and easy. Apparently its similar to Genshin Impact but I've never played that so I can't say!

Oh you're not dumb, don't worry! It really is a little confusing because we haven't talked about who they or we are in a very long time. I'm going to talk a lot here so you have all the context you might need! If it''s too long,, the TL;DR above is the gist of it.

Kris T and Kris P are TWO Kris introjects/fictives of Kris Dreemurr from Deltarune in our system.

Originally we just had Kris T who split in Dec 2018, and then when Chapter 2 came out, Kris P came into our system after that. Of course at first, Kris T. was just "Kris", but since we had a double now, we had to figure out how to differentiate between the two. We knew another Kris fictive from a different system at this time who was nicknamed P. Kris by Susie in our system, and susie wanted to emphasize who she was talking about.

SO. As a small nod to that, everyone decided to nickname Kris P as Kris P, as an inverse of P. Kris.

A little convoluted, I know!

Besides being Kris introjects/fictives though, they also look different! I made some new drawings to try and showcase their differences if that helps :3?

Their dark world forms also look different. Kris T's is simpler, with a shiny soft cape, while Kris P's is more complicated with a hooded cape, which is also described as "very comfortable"

Here's a funny idea that's been swimming in my head:

AU of "Control Of Mind And Body" (somewhat more of an joke/neutral ending, really) where 02, for some (probably contrived)* reason, ends up becoming Tiffumu, not JUST in body but ALSO in mind (PunMostCertainlyIntended) like in some sort "Superior Spiderman"-like fashion (if you don't know who that is, look it up, I'm certain he's too obscure for most to know at a glance so don't worry about it)

TL;DR Tiff's subconscious mind uno reverses on 02 and causes them to have an identity crisis, to which Kirby helps them get through

(For clarification, "02" reefers to his internal thought process and "Tiff" would be what they say)

At first, 02 is a bit confused about how they were starting to act a bit too "in-character" and began to become distracted by activities Tiffumu would do on the reg (ex. 02:"Hmm... so if I'm supposed to be a bookworm then I should probably be at the library, I mean, it's not like I would be spending much time there anyways..." 2 hours later... Tuff:"Hey, sis, I'm bored, when are we leaving-" "Tiff":"Not now, Tuff, I'm just finishing up this one..." 02:"It's not even been that long, anyways-" Tuff: "...But it's been 2 hours" 02:"Ok, so...wait...did he say 2 hours...I THOUGHT I JUST SPENT UNDER 15 MINUTES")

Then, the 1st signs that there's truly something wrong start to set in as they find that their thought patterns were starting to shift into something more so resembling tiff's than they would like** (ex. 02: "I hate the beach... the blasted sun's way brighter here than anywhere else, the sand here is so loosely packed, anything you build with it just highlights the pointlessness of it all, and the only other stuff is swimming in the cold water under said sun and collect dumb seashells-" spots white and red seashell 02:"...Hey, actually, this one's not half bad... you know, maybe this place isn't as terrible as I assumed... I mean, the cool wind, the sound of the waves, the feeling of the sun on my face- ...wait...but I HATE the sun... I mean, it's only natural that a being of the dark such as myself would hate what's essentially a giant lamp, right? Right, so pull yourself together 02... this seashell here is the only good thing that came out of this damn beach... other than that death-defying opportunity, of course)

THEN, things start taking a turn when they start to act a lot more like tiff then they would like, to the point where the mask starts to slip a bit as they more open to their new family (Memu:"So how was your day, sweetie" "Tiff":"Oh, it was ok I guess... Speaking of which, I found this interesting seashell that I want to show you" "Tiff" shows the seashell Papu:"Oh, what about it caught your eye" "Tiff":"I guess it's just because it reminds me of myself in a way" Memu:"Oh, and how so" "Tiff":"Well, you see, I...um...you know what, I'll talk to you about it later, ok? For now, I'm tuckered out so I'll just be going to bed." Papu:"Oh, alright then. Goodnight, sweetie")

Finally, 02 starts to be so much like Tiff that they start to doubt their own identity and start to confuse themselves with Tiff, causing her to spiral (02:"That was a close one. Whatever that seashell triggered within me, it wasn't good. *sigh* Nice going, Tiff, you almost told mom and dad that you're actually- ...wait...'Tiff'? 'mom and dad '? *Frustrated groan* Get a grip, 02, you're an angel of death. And these ignorant fleshbags mean NOTHING to you. You're immortal. You're the leader of the dark matter clan. You've survived against your own Kirby. You've even defeated Holy NightMare Enterprises. You- ...Hold up. I didn't destroy them. Hell, Tiff didn't either. Kirby did. And besides, this version of Kirby isn't like the one back at Dark Star. They're just a small, meek, innocent, little baby who only thinks about spitting on his toys, hugging trees, eating watermelon, and just being a jolly pink ball-shaped child who can do no wrong- HEY, WAIT A MINUTE! Oy vey, tiff- er, 02, you're must be really going insane if you're starting to doubt that that wad of gum's very existence isn't sinful in it of itself, and besides, 'tree-hugging'? Now then, Tiff, this will remind you where your place truly is. Your Dreamland will be mine and nothing you nor your Kirby can do to stop me and my children. ...wait, children? Well, I mean, I guess they kind of are my children, in a sense. Honestly, if I was more like Tiff, they probably wouldn't even hurt a fly unless it was on the end of a fish hook, unlike this world's Dedede's pet octopus, heh heh. ...wait...How'd I know that? Well, however I did, it's not like it's gonna matter soon. ...But even then... why is it that I still feel... so conflicted.)

Eventually, she gets so conflicted between who he even is anymore that everyone else starts to take notice as he starts triple-backing on everything she says, probably not even really thinking about some of them

And to make matters worse, not only is she starting to regret everything he has done, not ONLY is everyone starting to catch on that there's something wrong with her, but also the rest of the dark matter clan starting to refer to him as their mother, being more of a reminder to 02 of Tiff's relationship with Kirby

All of this pressure, on this cappy girl/ angel of darkness amalgam, starts wearing them down to the point that that they go into a room, shut the door, and contemplate their options...

1. Bump off Tiff

The child was the one who had her thoughts seep within his. Maybe getting rid of her would return him to normal. And, as a bonus, it would break Kirby's sprit and allow him to feed of the grief of her loved ones...

.....

...But the thought of her family and friends missing her dearly became so utterly repulsive to them, he decided to drop the idea and move to something else.

After all, it was what was stopping her from enacting his plan.

2. Get rid of 02

I mean... it's not like he was doing any favors for anyone. He was a literal A N G E L O F D E A T H so his dematerialization would probably be a net positive. After all, it would certainly be what Tiff would have wanted...

.....

...But then, you see, all of this, the possession, the planning, and the preservation of what remaining dark matter is left would all be for naught.

I mean... the fear of death is what got them this far, was it not.

3. Try to split

This seems like the most logical choice out of the bunch, right? Just split the pair from each other and both will be themselves again and we can all move on from this experience as better people for it. Yep, everything would be just Hunky Dory...

.....

...but then they realized something.

If 02 returns back to how he was, then either he ruins everything, Kirby kills him for good, or he just goes to another timeline, either repeating the process and/or just ending up experiencing the other two outcomes.

The only way he would keep his empathy for life outside of the dark matter clan would be, theoretically, taking Tiff's heart with him, and even then, that would likely result in her dying or becoming a miserable husk

And THEN there's an even worse thought, one that completely wipes this idea from their mind:

What if it doesn't work?

What if instead of separating correctly, it ends up screwing both of them over, to the point where neither of them survive...

.....

...welp, it would seem that our final exit turned out to be a bust

...But just as they were about to resign to their fate, the door opened and...

It was Kirby

Of course, 02, despite knowing he likely wasn't here to do so (well at first), would accuse Kirby of mocking them whist they're at their lowest point...

...but to their surprise, Kirby seems to be genuinely concerned for them***

("Tiff":"Wh-who's there!?" Kirby:"...Fumu?" "Tiff":"Oh... it's you... Here to rub salt in the wound, I suppose..." Kirby walks up to her and "poyo"s at her with a concerned look on his face "Tiff":"...why...why do you torment me like this...why is it that all my plans fall flat the moment you come into the picture..." Kirby:"Poyo?" "Tiff":"...is that really all you can say..." Kirby thinks about what she said and comes up with the first thing that comes to his head Kirby:"Suika!" "Tiff":"...Melon...? That's the first thing that comes to mind? ...FOOD..." Kirby:"poy-yay!" "Tiff":"...heheh...you really are here to mock me..." Kirby:"poy...yo?" 02 grabs Kirby and picks him up as she becomes furious "Tiff":"DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY!? IS THIS ALL ONE GIANT GAME TO YOU!? ANSWER ME!!!" Kirby:"p...poy-y-yo..." 02 starts sniffling as she fully breaks down "Tiff":"...heh...heh...look at me...*hic*...yelling at a ch-hild...how pathetic..." 02 lets go of Kirby out of sorrow, who proceeds to leave the room and come back with some watermelon Kirby:"Suika!" "Tiff":"...is this...for me..." Kirby:"Zee-ru tif" 02 starts to bawl in tears "Tiff":"Thank you, Kirby...I love you, Kirby...I'm so sorry for everything I did... I'm sorry... I'm sorry i'm sorry..." "0!Tiff", who hasn't slept well in days, collapses in exhaustion as Kirby carries her to her bed...)

Tiff wakes up in her bed, surrounded by her family, with worried looks on their faces. She reassures them that she's ok, saying that she was possessed by a stray demon beast that Kirby beat up, as always.

With that, (and an interuption by a certain king penguin and gay snail,) she send her parents off, telling tuff to say here to make sure she's ok...

...to which, she explains e v e r y t h i n g, essentially telling tuff all there needs to about how she's an entity known as 02 and how she planned to cover the world in darkness, but said plans went down the drain as soon as she started to become Tiff in mind as well as in body. (*roll credits*)

Oddly enough, Tuff was fine with this, his reasoning being that, "Well, you look like Tiff, you sound like Tiff, you speak like Tiff, you behave like Tiff, and now you even think like Tiff, so, for all intensive purposes, you kinda are Tiff now, just a bit different"

02 then decided that, if she was gonna be Tiff, then by void, she's gonna be a better Tiff than before.

But before she can do that, she needs a more fitting name (don't wanna cause more confusion after all of that) to which Kirby repeated his name for her:"Zee-ru tif"

To which, Tuff read as 0!Tiff, saying that it was a fitting name for her.

02/Tiff responded by saying "That's a dumb name, but we can't really think of anything else at the moment so sure, why not"

And thus solidified the legacy of 0!Tiff:

EMPRESS OF THE HYPERZONE

* TBH I don't know exactly know what could cause this to happen, maybe 02 possessed her for too long and queen ripple's possession just didn't last that long, maybe tiff connection with Kirby had something to do with it (Personally, I had an idea with a "soul surgeon"), but whatever the case may be, this is more about the effect rather than the exact cause. I mean, you can probably think of something less contrived, but on this front, I'm stumped.

**It may be even in subtle ways 02 wouldn't quite notice like how Tiff's obsession with princess stories would end up having them decide to refer to themselves as "the princess of the hyperzone" before going with the title of empress instead, not knowing that that was also influenced by Tiff's state of mind.

***I imagine that Kirby would be slightly suspicious of tiff's true nature due to their special connection, but let's be honest, when your best friend having a meltdown, it's still best to check on them, whether they're possessed or not.

oh I wanna hear your takes on Romeo and Juliet what are the worst takes you've heard about it and why are they Wrong

ok so. the general consensus that a lot of people seem to have about it is that romeo and juliet's relationship is ridiculous and doesn't make sense, because the notion of killing yourself over someone that you only met two or three days ago is nonsensical; however, what they need to understand is that these are two teenagers, one of which has basically no agency in her life in terms of her own relationships and the other of which is Heavily Implied To Be Deeply Depressed after the last person he liked dumped him.

for juliet, her relationship with romeo is something that she Can choose - yes, he's some random guy that she met at a party, but honestly? that's kind of the point - he is in no way something that her parents have forced upon her; he's entirely new to her, and that means that even her parents haven't got anything to do with him (other than the family feud, but she doesn't know that at first) - which means that she can choose him, freely, for herself, and that by extension any love she does have for him is her own choice, too - and to someone who has been told all their life what they should want, even just the opportunity to want something for yourself would probably be almost addictive.

now, for romeo, he's found this person who shines brighter than anything else has been able to for him in a Long time, and yeah, it sounds a bit cringey, but considering that Juliet is the first thing that's actually made him feel something in so long (again - it is basically all but explicitly stated that he was deeply depressed) it's perfectly understandable, to me at least, that he, a desperate teenager, would cling to this person who's allowing him a way out of the darkness as hard as he possibly can.

so when romeo thinks juliet - the one (1) thing that he has been able to find that gave him a way out of his depression - is dead, and he sees that way out slipping away from him, it's kind of understandable that he wouldn't want to resign himself to what his life was like before again, because he now Knows what it's like to be happy. and for juliet, when she sees that the symbol of her one independent act in life is dead, it's again understandable that she might have taken that as the death of her independence as a whole, as it's the only independence she's ever really had - and, same as romeo, now that she knew what life with freedom and agency was like, she might not have wanted to go back to what she had before.

am i saying that they acted rationally? no, i really don't think they did - but they were emotional teenagers who were desperately clinging onto the one freedom that they had found from their previous situations, so i don't think that their relationship was nearly as ridiculous or nonsensical as people make it out to be.

tl;dr - they're two dumb teenagers who lost their only way out.

I saw these cool orbs and knew I had to incorporate magical orbs into Glam Metal Heart somehow.

Trouble is, idk who to give them to. I have a few ideas tho...

1. Cinderella(Cuz yknow, fairy tale motifs and whatnot. Their whole villain backstory is that after Cinderella became inactive, they lost their magic powers and they were kinda angsty about that and their inability to be as big as other glam metal bands. And then in 2021, Jeff LaBar died and that just added more angst to the angsty emotional dumpster fire.

And then Traci Michaelz from Peppermint Creeps(I'll elaborate on his role in the story in another long post but TL;DR he came back from the dead because "GRRR I died before my time UGH all these other bands that came before and after me are alive and well RAWWWR I'll show them!" Something like that)shows up and is like "Now this looks like a job for me." and does some evil magic bullshit to help give Cinderella back their powers and bring Jeff LaBar back from the dead.

But Traci's magic(And the magical orb too, if I decide to give the band one)corrupts the band, turning them evil.

2. Michael Monroe(He's got crystal powers in this AU and the battle between him and Angel take place in an crystal-like setting, so I see no reason why he shouldn't have a very cool crystal ball of his own)

3. Steel Panther(They're basically evil wizards in this AU. I'm sure there's a ball joke I could make here.)

4. Vinnie Vincent(He's a pretty princess and he deserves all the pretty orbs in the world and a pretty little castle to lock Angel away in...Oops, I'm spoiling his chapter, aren't I?)

5. Blackie Lawless(As per my last update, I'm still keeping Blackie in my AU but he won't be joining the main cast. I think it'd be funny for him to watch them from his crystal ball and be like "Oooh I'm gonna destroy them oooh I'm so evil!" Or something dumb like that lol)

I (20X) am in uni currently in my sophomore year. I'm autistic and have social anxiety so I have terrible luck making friends and usually end up getting "adopted" by an extrovert. At my uni, it's typical to live in a double room - they do not have separate bedrooms/baths, it's essentially just a bedroom with two beds and two desks in them. My first year of uni I didn't end up with a roommate (which is apparently relatively common for first-years for various reasons) but the extrovert friend I made, let's call them P, did have a roommate that kinda sucked (blasting music into the early morning, bringing friends over without warning, etc).

P and I were friends during our freshman years in that we went out to dinners together and sometimes events. Both of us share the same sort of schedule (although they're in a STEM track and I'm an art history major) and ideals (neither of us are into drinking/drugs/partying). So, naturally, P suggested that we move in as roommates together in sophomore year.

Here's the problem. P is kind of abrasive and honestly downright rude at some points. We're friends, we still hang out and go to dinners/events together and joke around, but a lot of times their "joking around" is just hurtful. For example, they find it funny to gaslight me, or maybe they don't even realize they do it - I say things like "I heard that the dining hall is getting a dessert section" and P will say "no they aren't, you're wrong" and then a week later when the dessert section gets installed, I'll say "ah so they were getting one! I knew it" and they'll say "you literally never said that, I did." They also (physically) shove me around, pour salt in my food while I'm in the restroom, make fun of me for not doing my own laundry (I'm physically disabled, literally can't), say I'm taking "dumb classes" compared to their STEM major, etc. Ive talked to them about their behavior before, but they just said "I was never making fun of you".

The thing is, I hate rooming with P. They're fun to hang out with, and they're funny, but when I hang out with them for too long their jokes just turn into picking on me and I just plain don't find it funny. They're not a bad roommate; they respect my space, don't mess with my stuff (usually), but I just don't feel comfortable living with them.

I tried to "get out" last semester, but the only way I'd be able to move out is if I activated my disability accomodations and asked for a medical single, which would take months to process. It's January now, so if I start the process now, it could be ready by next semester. However, P doesn't want me to leave and is super clingy, texting me when I leave to visit home that they miss me. With their previous experience with a bad roommate, I'm not inclined to give them back up to the roommate lottery again, and they're one of the only friends I have at uni, but at the same time, I don't see how we can work this out because I've already talked to them about it and set boundaries and been ignored.

TL;DR My roommate is a good roommate but bad friend, and I want to move out but I'm worried that they'll get stuck with a bad roommate in my stead. WIBTA for leaving or should I stay and deal with it?

Late night rant

(I promise its cardiophile-related)

So like, my relationship with my sexuality has always been weird.

When I was a kid it was "oh, I have the same amount of attraction to everyone! I must be pan!"

That "attraction" was zero lol

Or at least I thought it was...?

But like..I realized so recently that the entire time I was feeling attraction, I was just stifling it. I always saw women as the "default" and that "of course they look better than men, that's how it's supposed to be" (sounds so stupid looking back but it made sense to my dumb brain).

Now here's where the cardiophile part comes in:

Every single gender's got a heart, and to me for so long it just wasn't a gendered thing. I always had a leniency towards fem presenting hearts but I never noticed it until I went back and looked (also the YouTube scene where I grew up with the cardiophile stuff was riddled with mostly men's content).

But like, when most of the time it's just a black screen with audio, a heart's a heart lol.

With the gender neutral-ness of the fetish, it...confused me, I guess. Thought I was just lying about liking women, which made me supress it even more.

Being almost completely sex-repulsed besides my cardiophilia made things so damn confusing for me.

Now that I'm finally letting myself feel what I want to feel, it's becoming so much easier to just...be. To love what I love.
