#this is less of a favorite characters list and more of a callout post to myself tbh

@ROJUROSE’S RULES
I own neither Rojuro Otoribashi nor Bleach. They both belong to Tite Kubo. I make zero profit off of this blog and am only here to have fun. nothing more, nothing less. I do, however, own all of my icons / gfx / promos / headcanons / etc. unless stated otherwise. So I'd greatly appreciate it if you neither stole them nor claimed them as your own considering I worked very hard on making all of them.
I am a bit tired of callouts nowadays. About the only times you'll honestly see me reblog a callout is if/when I genuinely find the person incredibly problematic — especially if I've fallen victim from them firsthand. Otherwise it's going to be a hit or miss. Any callout posts I reblog will be tagged as CALLOUT TW and DRAMA TW for ease of mind. Now if the person makes a public apology and acknowledges their mistakes then I'll be more than happy to talk to them again depending on what all they've done.
I refuse to interact with problematic muns. If you are racist, ableist, sexist, LGBT-phobic, and a Nazi bootlicker then I want nothing to do with you. And the same is equally true if you're going to completely disregard all of the problematic themes within Bleach. While I abhor all of the things I listed, ignoring all of the toxic themes within Bleach does not make the problems magically go away. I'd say I'm sorry but I'm not.
Please do not follow me if you interact with any of the following people: Ziro. I’m a pretty forgiving person but if problematic people tend to play the victim, refuse to acknowledge they’ve messed up, refuse to apologize, and refuse to learn from their mistakes then I want nothing to do with them. All I want is for those who have messed up to just apologize and learn from their mistakes. That’s all. I’m here to sit down, relax, and have fun. Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m not duplicate friendly right now. I want to be duplicate friendly but I’m also incredibly self-conscious with my portrayal of Rose. This isn’t against anyone who does roleplay as him, though, for I encourage more people to roleplay as my favorite flamboyant musician of a Vizard! I just … can’t handle duplicates right now. I’m sorry.
I’m stuck using BETA TEXT EDITOR + XKIT REWRITTEN. I can’t use LEGACY TEXT EDITOR at all because I made this blog after November 26th, 2022. I know this might sound a bit brash but I'd greatly appreciate it if you used BTE with me otherwise I'm probably not going to interact with you until everyone’s forced to use BTE.
I only interact with mutuals who are 18+. Though I am perfectly fine with non-mutuals sending headcanon asks, anonymous asks, and chatting with me OOC. Otherwise, I’m only going to interact with mutuals IC. It just makes my dash cleaner and easier to deal with.
Memes, unprompted asks, open starters, and dash commentaries are the best way to interact with me. I’ve come to learn that I get bored / lose motivation quite easily and rather quickly when doing starter calls. So I prefer sending / receiving unprompted asks, memes, and making open starters as well as replying to them. Now if we plan on doing a specific thread or something then that’s one thing. So I will very seldom if ever be making starter calls and / or like my mutuals’ starter calls because of how easily bored and uninterested I get with them early on.
I do practice mains & exclusives. Though I am extremely picky with whom I become mains or exclusives with due to bad experiences in the past. The number of dupes I will have of one character is up in the air right now so I'll stick with two to three mains per character for the time being.
Call me Shin! My pronouns are she/they. I’m 21+ years of age (29 to be exact) and am demi-bi. I suffer from severe GAD (with frequent paranoia episodes) and mild MDD. Not only that but I'm also in the process of getting tested for BPD. So please be patient with me and my random mood swings and bouts of negativity.
The fact that we have to remind everyone of this is problematic in and of itself. It ought to be common sense that none of us are our muses. Will we share similar traits and have common interests? sure. are there things that fascinate us with our muses? Most definitely. Do we condone everything that our muses do? Absolutely not.
Do not take Rose lightly. Tite Kubo did the entirety of the Vizards dirty and it irks me to absolutely no end. There's obviously a reason Rose is Third Division Captain. There's also a reason Old Man Yama had Rose go with the likes of the other Vizards. And while Rose may be incredibly laid back, nonchalant, and soft-spoken I'd greatly appreciate it if you kept in mind that, like Shinji and Aizen, Rose wields an Illusion-type Zanpakuto.
I do not practice reblog karma. I’m perfectly fine with you reblogging musings, fanart, gifs, memes, music, PSAs, promos, and callouts from me. In fact, I encourage it. Just don’t reblog my ooc posts, headcanons, and threads without permission. You can like them all you want, just don’t reblog them.
This blog is strictly dualship for the time being. What this means is that Rose will only be in a relationship with two muses in two different universes. He is strictly taken by @aoimesuzume's Izuru Kira in the default verse.
I have several verses to choose from. Okay … technically I don't because they're still very much under construction. With that being said, my default verses generally vary between   🎸 verse 🎸 tybw arc & 🎸 verse 🎸 post series arc.
I can and will be updating these rules from time to time. But rest assured that I'll always be letting my followers know when I update them. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns then feel free to message me for I’ll 100% answer them to the best of my ability!

I am pro-callout if there is proof. I might not always reblog callouts but I do hardblock those who have been called out if there’s enough evidence to support the claim. I know we’re not perfect but if you continue to be problematic in the RPC and refuse to change for the better then you most certainly had it coming. Any callout posts I reblog will be tagged as CALLOUT TW and DRAMA TW for ease of mind.

Do not take Renji lightly. Is he temperamental? Yes. Is he self-conscious? Yes. Is he weak? No. Ignoring his pride and being unable to admit defeat and facts, Byakuya chose Renji as his Lieutenant for a reason. He wouldn't choose just anyone to be his Lieutenant. Renji will do whatever it takes to get his point across even if it means beating the ever-loving shit out of someone.

This blog is strictly singleship for the time being. I also don't really ship Renji and Rukia romantically. It's strictly platonic in my eyes. The reason for this is out of fear that Renji would end up losing Rukia again and it being permanent this time around.
I have several verses to choose from. Okay … technically I don't because they're still very much under construction. With that being said, my default verses generally vary between   ☾ verse ☽ tybw arc and ☾ verse ☽ post series arc.

lately been seeing a lot of pushback against the pushback against intellectual elitism, crying anti-intellectualism, and there are a few reasons this is bothering me which i’m going to try to list here to the best of my abilities all in one sitting because otherwise i’ll forget to finish it:
1. the whole attitude against consuming “easy” media like marvel or mainstream movies or books, etc, is intellectual elitism no matter how you sugar coat it. im not saying it’s intentionally malicious, in fact i believe most people doing it are unaware they’re doing anything at all. the thing is that privilege can affect you in many different ways, and the level of media you are able to consume and have an enjoyable experience with is one of those ways.
i am very well educated in language and writing, so reading experimental stories where the syntax and turn of phrase is almost more important than the actual plot or characters is easy and even sometimes enjoyable for me. however, i have next to no media literacy when it comes to films. i can watch something more artistic or experimental, but i likely won’t understand it even close to the amount i need to in order to enjoy it. it would take a lot of effort to fully understand and even if i got to the point of understanding it the effort it took would make the experience much less enjoyable.
i hope i explained that well enough. it’s kinda hard to put into words
2. it’s ableist. full stop. i’m not even joking here i saw someone seriously type out and post something that said people are using this callout of intellectual elitism as a way to hide the fact that they’re all just “jocks who don’t play sports.” that doesnt directly relate to this point in particular i just remembered it.
yes, less artistic or intentionally intellectual/ thought provoking pieces of art are easier to consume. speaking as someone who has not only dealt with chronic burnout myself but who is part of a generation of people living day in and day out with chronic burnout, sometimes easy media is all i can handle. by which i mean, most times. and its easier to consume again. and again. and again and again.
burnout is just one example of course, many disabilities can cause a lack of energy to devote to activities that are for leisure. and even without disabilities, humans are meant to rest. nobody wants to be thinking critically or philosophically 100% of the time.
3. communities are much larger surrounding mainstream/ easy to consume media. obviously that doesnt make it more worthwhile, but it does come with its own certain set of benefits. also you know what mainstream fandoms have a shit ton of? fan work. look at fan fiction and fan art and fan theories and tell me those people are not thinking critically and engaging meaningfully with their source material. just try to tell me.
some people work better with more hands on, creative pursuits. my favorite subjects growing up were always math and english, because there was a way to be involved, and not just be told the answers, the story. science and history never offered me that, at least not as openly. learning styles are different, and just because we’re talking about a leisure activity here doesnt mean that fact changes or becomes irrelevant.
this is just me word dumping onto a document because i didnt want to hijack a post at 12:30 at night, but these are a few of the reasons this “anti-intellectualism” accusation has been leaving a bad taste in my mouth for the few months its been going on. feel free to add on or ignore or whatever, i dont really care. i just needed to write it down and get it out there.

I saw afloweroutofstone's recent anime posts, and the end results were pretty frustrating. That list of finalists was so.....well, from my POV, basic as all get out. Insert ted danson gif here. Hell, I see even weeb Tumblrs that seem to know nothing about shows that would actually fit their tastes, and instead keep slogging through the very underwhelming mainstream favorites, while their faves retain a total anti-recency bias. So, some classics that have fallen through the cracks that I gladly proselytize to anyone with higher brow anime tastes! (Note that this doesn't mean that I dislike lower brow stuff. This post's frustration is specifically about how basic people's "high brow anime faves" lists are.) And there is zero Ikuhara, Watanabe, or Gainax/Trigger on this list. There is, however, a fair amount of Yuasa, who is arguably the primary TV anime auteur of the 2010s. Yamada and Tachikawa get multiple mentions each, too.
Kyousougiga: How to even describe this show's genre: Buddhist magical realism but it's Looney Tunes? The show I want the most to proselytize to people about. Matsumoto Rie's career has shown that she thinks in terms of music video rhythms, and this show really put that to use with a few of my favorite sequences of all time. In between those, though, is still just as effective writing about the complex feelings we have towards family, paired with vibrant animation of action that live action does not yet have the balls (or budget) to attempt. Kaiba: The best cyberpunk audiovisual media I have ever watched, period. It makes most other cyberpunk look bad for how effortlessly it delivers its commentary, while having the chutzpah to have the visual aesthetic it has, and yet the animation of that aesthetic only drives in the cyberpunk themes that much harder, making live action straight takes look tepid and shallow. In fact, watching this pretty much ruined Deca-dence for me! A Place Further Than The Universe: Coming of age of high school girls by participating in a research stint on Antarctica. This show has an impeccable sense of rhythm, which means that the interactions between the characters pop, and only get more fun as the various relationships get deeper. This show understands that anyone who wants to go to Antarctica is going to be a bit of a weirdo, and delights in that fact. In addition, the trip isn't just an excuse for the coming-of-age narrative, the show digs into the real logistical details of such a thing. Ping Pong: Imagine Friday Night Lights, but it's about the titular sport, and how the fact that it's not a team sport changes all of the relationship dynamics, and animation means that they're not constrained in their visual depiction of the game. Yeah. By the same guy who did Kaiba. THE RANGE. Gatchaman Crowds: This show is nominally about a sentai-type group of superheroes, but it's actually concerned with exploring themes around internet culture, social media, incentives and motivations around civic duty, trolling, callout culture, politics in the internet age, and arguably some parallels to gun control. The show doesn't always stick the landing on the answers it chooses, but it's still digging into the issues with a depth usually reserved for harder science fiction novels. The Eccentric Family: It's Magical Realism In Kyoto again, but the action is way less broad and the stakes lower than Kyousougiga, which means a different tone and type of story told. The second season repeats a few beats of the first, but just hanging out with the characters is such a good time you don't mind. Where Kyousougiga is concerned with family members having very ambivalent feelings about each other, The Eccentric Family is more about the inter-family interactions of a wider community (at least for the relatively chill tanuki, while the tengu are total drama llamas in deliberate contrast). Odd Taxi: A web of characters make their way through life, some of which include crime and murder, leading to increasing interactions with a mere taxi driver. Stageplay-style dialogue collides with anthropomorphic animal character designs to make the social commentary pop without having your eyes glaze over at the Prestige of the story it's telling. Imagine a walrus in a hawaiian shirt and tiny baseball cap saying "Why not enjoy a bit of sherry and a fudge brownie while strolling along the West Coast?" in total deadpan to an alpaca as the height of cute romance. Keep Your Hands Off of Eizouken!: In a near future solarpunk-ish world, a group of high school girls get into 2D animation, and deal with the logistics of making 2D animated productions. The strong character personalities and interactions make the ride through all of it a fun time. It conveys the sheer joy of artistic creation by showing instead of telling. Planet With: It's not so much a deconstruction of sentai tropes (but filtered through mecha) so much as unearthing a lot of novel nuance by speedrunning the standard storyline (this show gets through more plot in a few episodes than entire double cour seasons of other shows) and digging hard into the fallout, as well as putting the audience in a non-standard POV. Also has some of the absolutely most cursed kaiju designs you've ever experienced (WORLD PEAS). It references an Arthur C. Clarke novel, which tells you a lot about its writing ambitions. The story is all about advocating for empathy and nuance as the highest ideals, when much of the world believes that those are a tradeoff against achieving justice. Hunter x Hunter: There is just nothing like it. This really is simply the GOAT of long-running battle shounen, and there are zero traditional hero narratives here. The battle tactics are cool, the world-building endless yet all so considered, and the character development increasingly Going There without flinching. The arcs rarely resolve the way you think they will, because they know that all of the ridiculous power levels still just belong to people, and people ultimately make decisions for personal reasons. Do NOT try to binge this. Take it at your own pace, and take breaks when you need to (I myself am currently stalled during early Chimera Ant). Most arcs have a slow start, but the construction of every element is intricate and barrels into unstoppable momentum as the arcs go on. Dennou Coil: A story of kids in a world of near-universal AR glasses. Western media really is pretty shit about making shows that are actually ABOUT technology. The stronger examples usually mine character/relationship dramas that could be equally explored set in a different industry. Anime, meanwhile, has the temerity to tell stories that could not be told without the technologies they're exploring. In addition, Western media is doubly bad about displaying how the younger generation is usually on the bleeding edge of how said technologies will change society, since their media about kids are usually mired in the nostalgia of the creators. Dennou Coil, though, actually gets that childhood tends to be subversive more than not. It is fascinating, though, to see how this show assumes a near-total freedom given to kids in Japan to roam around, while it seems US kids (and even teenagers) are increasingly captive to their houses. Equally impressive is that there is no tradeoff between Fun Train and high brow philosophical opining on technology. The latter is effortlessly demonstrated by the former, which is all in character because the kids themselves aren't thinking about it, they're just living it. Hibike Euphonium, Liz and the Blue Bird especially: A story about high school wind ensemble. But underneath that, it's a story about the tension between social politics and artistic integrity. Choose between being the best artist you can be or having harmonious relationships with the people around you. Finding a balance may cause you to never achieve the goals you want or need to, because art is a world where the lukewarm is to be spat out of the mouth. And enjoy some of the most gorgeous anime in the entire industry, perfectly utilized to get across these teenagers' feelings and pretenses. Plus some authentically good wind ensemble music, of course. Liz and the Blue Bird is a movie that can be watched stand-alone, and is a bona-fide masterpiece. Kakegurui: On the surface, this seems like just anime gone indulgent, someone pairing their love of games with their spank bank. However, there's a lot to dig into once you get past the kneejerk reaction. This is a show that is psychosexual, and in particular the links between our basest instincts and class warfare. The story of the poor turning to gambling despite the apparent irrationality of it is a very long one, and this show's power fantasy is making the rich and powerful finally understand that feeling. I actually recommend the live action Jdrama (and movie) of Kakegurui over the anime for that reason, as its writers seem to better understand and so emphasize those political themes, while the second season of the anime is bound by the source material going to more conventional tournament places (and the class warfare themes ironically coming out the most in the anime-original material). At the same time, though, the way the story so wholeheartedly goes over the top makes it fun to watch even without considering the deeper implications. Also the anime has more overt gay ladies. Mob Psycho 100: The incredible animation is the headliner here, probably encompassing the widest variety of tricks of all of the shows on this list, but none of that would mean a thing without the story, whose primary theme is that the stakes of the action mean nothing compared to maturing as just people. But that animation, though. It's a show where motion is everything. Screencaps could never capture the genius of drawing happening on the screen. Memories: More often titled "Otomo Katsuhiro's Memories". Three short movies across four auteurs (seven if you include the music composers, and boy is the soundtrack for all three excellent). Satoshi Kon's Magnetic Rose is gorgeous, but it's really just a Doctor Who episode at this point, most of its best tricks well-pilfered by live action. Stink Bomb has some of the satire of bureaucracy that gave Shin Godzilla its punch, but also features joyous action animation, as the comedy ratchets up right along with the stakes. Finally, Cannon Fodder has the shortest runtime with the highest impact, illustrating a world and narrative with fractally dense detail and intent. Do NOT miss out on this movie. It'll stay with you long after the credits roll. Wave, Listen to Me! (Honorable mention): Is this show actually good? My sheer level of fond affection for it seems to indicated that I'm too biased. I listened to Prairie Home Companion with some regularity throughout my childhood, and this show perfectly captures the way Garrison Keillor would tell meandering and absurd Tales from Lake Woebegone, where you're kind of rooting for the characters, but unsure what on earth might happen in the next five seconds, and if current moment is more or less fantasy within the context of the story itself, and if that seeming detour or non-sequitur a while back is about to get shaggy dog'd right back in. If you want to see what it's like when a stand-up routine is played as traditional story narrative, then you might enjoy this show! The "shows that just spark inordinate amounts of joy for being FUN TRAIN! DO NOT STOP THE FUN TRAIN! but also have good character/relationship work" tier: Kaguya-sama, Symphogear, Demon Girl Next Door, Thunderbolt Fantasy, Saga of Tanya the Evil And finally, the "sports anime executed so well that they make other genres look bad" tier: Haikyuu, Girls Und Panzer Shows I haven’t watched yet/finished watching, but trust the critical consensus on: From the New World, Sonny Boy, Flowers of Evil, Flip Flappers, Revue Starlight, Vinland Saga, Planetes, Katanagatari, Land of the Lustrous, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, Concrete Revolutio, Girls’ Last Tour, Shirobako, Death Parade, Given, Kino's Journey, Heike Monogatari, Ranking of Kings, Made In Abyss, Dorohedoro, Konosuba, Gegege no Kitaro, O Maidens In Your Savage Season, Devilman Crybaby, and Golden Kamuy.

types of people who have a manster as their #1 favorite mh character. i’m talking NUMBER 1 FAVORITE not just someone who likes the character along w the rest of the charas.
deuce - a tossup. if they co-stan cleo, they’re cool. if they do anything less than unconditional stanning for cleo, run away because they probably make moodboards about how cleuce is abusive
jackson - ship him with either valentine or deuce and call him a softboy, probably hate women and wish monster high was male-led
holt - will make a callout for you for being an anti or something. uses post banners that have a DNI list a whole paragraph long and it includes things you have to google
clawd - his true stans are the only mfs in this city who can handle me but i almost never see them. where are you guys
heath - will draw heath as different memes and generally stay out of drama which is ironic
gil - probably racist, definitely hates women
valentine - definitely hates women and ignores the entirety of why do ghouls fall in love
manny - definitely racist and definitely likes fight club
billy - i only know 2 people who stan-stan him and theyre chill so
raythe - kins him, ships him with deuce, and uses the gay man flag that’s just a blue version of the lesbian flag, stopped caring about monster high after 2 weeks of having their blog themed after it
hoodude - the 2nd blandest taste imaginable
neighthan - the blandest taste imaginable
johnny or slo mo - ive never seen stans for either of these guys so i guess yall are quiet or something
porter - bisexual and listens to 100 gecs. you can stay. for now.
garrott - probably hates women but is like poetic about it
pharaoh - probably trans. really cool and we need more of them.
bram - will write an 80k fanfic about a background male before they even acknowledge a lead female chara of color
sparky - thinks he’s hot and that’s the extent of their mh interest
chad - actual lesbian ally not a faker

I have a lot to say and not enough time to say it. It hurts, but ya’ll know what this is about so if you want my full fandom retrospective opinion thing guys, here.
I’ve been following Vivienne’s art and career since I found her on dA in 2009. I’ve basically grown up with her and have a wide range of opinions up and down her collective work. I must stress that I do not know her as a person and no matter how critical I get in my personal time if I somehow met her in real life or converse with her online again (like, back in the day we went back and forth. She was pretty nice to me), I’d be humble and congratulate her for her success.
Critique does not, EVER equate to attacking people.
But
the reason I don’t call myself a VivziePopVivzmind-fan is the exact same as to why I don’t like the proud use of ‘anti’. Let me try and explain -
The vast majority of Viv fans are just that: fans. Viv’s one of their favorite artists and they’re happy for her and obviously defensive when some mouth breather pops into their fan discussion calling her and all of them trash. Quite a lot of the Hazbin fans I know in my circle of friends are all pretty accepting and agree on the problematic notions and implications of her work.
HOWEVER, there’s a vocal minority in the VivziePop fandom that were and still are toxic. Their specific interest in Viv back in the day was toxic...and now that she’s moved on into a successful career I doubt they’ve gone away, considering the things I’ve heard. These people - they’d flood Viv’s comments sections and stuff with messages like they were talking to her when they weren’t and they’d unironically call her a god in a way that feels like gaslighting, ex: “I’ll NEVER be as good as you Viv! My art is just sooooo unpopular oh god you are incredible no one will ever like you as much as meeeee”. It made me uncomfortable. It made me not want to be around her because these people took Viv’s role in their lives so seriously and their demand for her attention...it struck a nerve.
These same fans have been around long enough to see actual shitlords - the likes of Kiwifarms and tapatalk wikis - come in and actually harass Viv. Viv’s been sent revenge porn by sick freaks who think they’re funny and believe she deserves it. No. In my non-name fan bystander opinion, Viv’s got some shit to work on, but no one deserves raperevenge porn. EVER. It was genuinely bad and yes Viv and her base have every reason to NOT TRUST these communities. Unfortunately, when these incidents happened, these particular fans took it upon themselves to gatekeep the fandom and act like Viv’s unofficial guard against any kind of decenting opinion of her, all without her say so.
((to the critics who will be all “but Viv or Faust said THIS to their fans-”, like I said, Viv’s far from perfect but regardless of how much she prolly wanted people to side with her I’m gonna guess that she didn’t want people sending transphobic death threats to DollCreep. Again, and this is coming from a bystander here, I have a feeling Viv knows about some of the toxicity but doesn’t know how/want to address it - which is a conversation all it’s own.))
This particular breed of VivziePop “fan” holds so much toxicity in her fandom(s). They aren’t the only cause, but they’re there. They feel entitled to her attention and her approval. They creep me out. Having spoken to other much-less critical admitted fans of Viv around me, these fans appear to creep everyone else out and put the rest of the fandom on edge. They’re gatekeepers. They’re creeps. Like the bronies and SU fans of yestertodayyears, they know harassment exists and that people have crossed the line - so they think any means is necessary to prevent that is automatically good. I could pile together all the incidents and folks who’ve had bad runs ins with this aftershock of Viv-obsession, but I do have a life of my own and this post is already stupid long so I’ll just list out the biggest examples and provide receipts when asked.
Critical blogs have gotten RAPE and death threats because they don’t like Viv’s art. HonestZoophobiaCriticisms, a blog I interracted with back in the day, def got one. Now Viv’s opinion of crit-blogs is that they’re “bad takes” but I can assure you she doesn’t want that shit being said on her behalf.
I’ve seen young artists get blacklisted from sites and forums cause they so much as post a redesign. Viv and co get told through the grapevine that someone’s making hatespeech and so preemptively block said person (prolly cause they’re in the middle of WORKING and can’t deal right now) only to find out after the fact that no, it was just a kid drawing their version of her characters. There’s serious miscommunication issues within the fandom about who’s ‘good’ or ‘bad’ and once you get the actual staff involved in this game of telephone you’re begging for trouble. The problem acknowledged, however, it’s souly from the “Viv never did anything wrong camp”. No word is said about how ugly the fandom is under the surface it’s all one type of person’s fault and not complicated’. Blah
I’ve only ever had ONE obsessive ‘fan’ who’d stalk me, mock me, and then redraw my art just to get attention from me. That shit fucked with my head. As a follower hundreds of miles away from Viv who’s agreed/disagreed with her through the years - I absolutely believe her when she says she hates ‘creeps’ and that she doesn’t want anyone in her fandom spreading hate on her behalf. It’s the one thing about her I’m POSITIVELY sure of. Whether she believes that said underlying harassment exists and/or is even a problem within her fandoms is anyone’s guess. That’s not what I’m here for. I’m here to write stupid blog entries like this, talk about fandoms and media and how they and the real world affect one another, and rb fan art I like. I’m cautiously optimistic fan with a side of salt.
Mixed opinions and critique within a fandom CAN and SHOULD exist. Hazbin Hotel has been greenlit by a studio! It has a product line of merchandise you buy. Helluva Boss is getting eight more episodes this coming year (yeeee:3yeeee). Two of Viv’s properties are now products. Nothing is immune from critique. And in critique you will find a lot of people who are not ‘nice’. Critique or analysis doesn’t have to be nice. There will be, in Viv’s words’ ‘bad takes’ on her writing. Maybe they will be actual CinemaSins-styled bad takes or maybe Viv is just mad that people don’t love and feel inspired by her characters the way she wants them to - it’s a fact she’s going to have to get used to.
((TBH, I’m pretty sure she’s already realized that criticism of all types need to exist. It’s just that, again, her and the SpindleHorse staff are kind of overwhelmed by all matter of takes and opinions coming their way they kinda can’t deal weeding out the fair ones from the assholes, so she lumps them all together.))
Shitposters, ironic fans, unironic fans, critical fans, just critics of Hazbin and Helluva CAN and WILL exist. They should exist and not feel threatened by the megafandom. There are people out there who are one step further and rightfully bothered by Hazbin/Helluva’s use of incorrect symbols, portrayal of certain topics, and the response by creators. These people have strong opinions and are actually disgusted by Viv. They deserve to exist too and should not be vilified because, like me, they’re commentary doesn’t consist of anything personal towards the people at Spindlehorse or the fans of her works. They can rant, they can be professional, they can be petty and they can be fair. But they will exist. You have to deal with it.
I am an ADD/OCD ridden autistic woman with serious anxiety issues who has no one to talk to half the time and so only HAS my fandom to communicate with. But that’s just it - it’s a fandom. A community. You have to learn to not think souly of yourself and of others in a community. A fandom doesn’t exist just for you or any one person. You have the right to be angry and defend or be offended. And it’s in the spirit of that that I ask, prrraaaaaay even, that I please
NOT BE CALLED AN “ANTI-ANTI” for not liking the moniker?!
I DON’T TO BE AN “ANTI”. Not ironically, not unironically. ‘Anti’ should be for politics and shit like pedophiles, necrophiles, nazis, serial killer stans, Trump, racists, antisemites, terfs, animal abusers, rapists, and antivaxxers. Anti should only come into critical media analysis when these ethical issues follow suit IN TO fandom discussion. ((EX: Anime and MLP proudly waving their cp and non-con into the public eye; Hazbin appropriating cultural symbols which are not satanic; Basically anything that concerns John K or Butch Hartman.))
If your DNI list unironically consists of the entirety of one fandom:  CONGLATURATIONS! You have done the exact same thing these particular creepy Viv fans have done: monopolize the conversation. And yes, people I’m referring to, IT’S STILL A PROBLEM EVEN IF YOU’RE FIGHTING RACISM/SEXISM/HOMOTRANSPHOBIA.
There are hundreds of Vivziefans who ARE more critical, accepting of faults, interested in discussion and especially rewrite and redesign stuff who would LOVE to engage with you and give you a follow. There’s hundreds of people who no doubt agree with you!
But the thing I’ve seen these very proud AntiHazbinVivzieHelluvaWhatever blogs do is lash out at fans for continuing to like Viv and consume Viv’s art in a healthy way. What the actual fuck is your problem?
I get it. Say a crazy Hazbin fan gets on your case for even SUGGESTING Viv could be homophobic ((”SHE’SBIANDWORKSWITHGAYPPLblahablahblah”)). They get in your face, make some callouts, try to rile up support against you, leave disgusting harassment throughout your social media? Absolutely ban worthy. After that it’s perfectly understandable why you don’t want to engage with anything HHHBZPVivzierelated because you’re so fucking tired of being labeled an abuser or “just jealous” for having an opinion on a show you don’t like. I’m with you!
But,
A fan agrees that something in the canon is bad or that Viv did something they don’t like?
A fan likes your silly shitpost meme?
A fan asks if they can like Hazbin and follow you at the same time?
A fan does fan art of something you don’t like?
If your response to any of these ^^^ things is to get LOUD and accusatory, Vivsplain them about how they’re an absolutely awful person to ever question YOUR opinion, or just block them without a second thought? You’re a petty, vendictive shit and you also need to learn to let things go. I’m sorry but you do. As I already said, Viv’s work is a brand at this point, not just the work of a singular person. As such, there are gonna be mixed opinions and you can’t judge every single one of these people by what they like. You’re a shitty critic with a shitty attitude and yes that will demean the value of what you’re saying. This is bad because, if you’re trying to point out how Angel Dust’s abuse IS handled terribly; gay rep in Viv’s work is weak and terrible; the show appropriates closed practices; the fandom makes excuses for predatory artists and creepy behavior and individuals who have sketchy pasts - I’M WITH YOU. WE NEED TO BE TALKING ABOUT THIS SHIT. JUST BECAUSE THESE ARE ADULT CARTOONS SET IN HELL MEANS THERE SHOULD BE ANYTHING CLOSE TO 2013 PONY-TUMBLR. <<<---- this shit is as important to me as it is to you and I really don’t like being called an abuser or apologist for saying “hey maybe blowing up at ppl for the shows they like ISN’T the way to go about this”.
But I have, just like the good old days of 2015 Zoophobia of yore, been blocked because I admit to being tired of ‘Anti’ being equated to ‘critical’. Same with hater.
Critical DOES NOT = Anti+Hater. I’m fucking tired of people saying it does and I’m tired of people taking up the term as some weird form of fandom reappropriation. It’s stupid.
Tl;dr: Once upon a time, I was in a budding fandom for something I liked made by an indie artist I watched on dA. I wanted to be a bigger fan than I was already, but was told by toxic people within said fandom that I couldn’t be part of it for reasons they’d made up in their head about my ‘motives’ against Viv. My admiration for Viv or what I liked about Zoophobia didn’t matter because I thought the story was really rushed and people weren’t being truthful with how they really felt about it - ergo, I HAD TO GO.
Flash forward 8 years later- My opinion of Viv’s body of work has changed but I still find myself in love with her style and some of her characters. I want to be on a forum or service that gives a healthy look at the problems there are with this series and fandom...and I’m met repeatedly by petty bs where people are again at each other’s throats. And yes, I do think it’s causing more harm than good especially when you insist there’s a “x person shouldn’t be trusted” mentality when fighting actual fucking racist, xenophobic, predatory bullshit.

So antifalockhart/antifasuccubus messaged me the following. there is a lot to unpack here so lets get started from what you’re saying and have posted, it seems youre operating under the assumption i made the callout post. i didnt. im not particularly offended you made this assumption and i can see why you would, seeing as i did follow and interact with you in the past. i unfollowed you before the callout was posted because i was feeling a bit uncomfortable with the asks you were responding to and i dont mess with my blacklist really, so i figured id just unfollow and follow back when your q&a was done. i didnt look into any of the hentai you had listed as your favorites because i didnt think much of it, i just kinda scrolled past it because hentai isnt really my cup of tea anyways. youve also implied in your response that this is because people are upset that you post about nsfw topics at all, which is not. i personally dont care that you post nsfw, while i dont post any on my blog i dont mind it on my dash. this is purely about you watching rape/cp.
i am truly sorry you had to go through that experience, it sounds horrific and absolutely terrifying. im glad youre away from that situation and are on a road to recovery, grooming is one of the most traumatic experiences one can go through and i think you continuing to try to live with it and move past it is brave. however. many people who do draw and write cp have also went through the same or very similar situations, and you seem to be implying that people who produce this content and say they have trauma are lying. im not defending them when i say this, but this is how you are coming across in these messages. trauma is hard to work through and i do not take issue with someone who does things like sexualize their trauma in private to work through what theyve been through. but you openly post about rape and cp in a way that endorses it. yes, openly claiming something as your favorite to someone who asks is endorsement. you dont have to specifically encourage people to seek it, the fact that you posted about it at all is already encouragement enough.
comparing you to someone who draws or writes cp is not a false equivalent. while it might upset you to read this, it’s the truth. these are not unsubstantiated claims either, you openly listed your favorite hentai, all of which featured rape, some of which involving underage characters, and at least one of which containing a graphic scene of a child kicking, screaming, crying, and bleeding. you cant claim to condemn people who make cp but also openly watch, endorse, and enjoy the very content they create in the first place. you cant have it both ways, thats not how any of this works.
i do not appreciate the implication that i do not take survivors seriously or empathize with them. the people who i do not empathize with are people who produce cp and consume it. and you consume it. this is not a lie nor does it lack evidence, the posts came from you. its really insidious of you to try to milk me for some pity when youre literally watching pedo shit.
i am comparing you to the people who traumatized you because you are normalizing cp and rape content by endorsing it. thats it.
lastly, id like to address your response to my ‘pannie apologist’ post
me saying ‘pannie apologist’ is a bit of an in joke in a discord server im in with some mutuals and should not be taken seriously. the rest of the post however is serious. your response is especially puzzling to me because you repeat a good portion of what it is, that not all pan people are inherently transphobic and not all bi people are free of transphobia. i am also a trans person, and i am also a trans person who has experienced transphobia from both pan and bi people, though it was likely with less severity seeing as i am tme. the bi community, as with any sexuality, has a transphobia problem and it is extremely disheartening. its because of that that i did id as pan myself for a while, because i felt ostracized and othered by members of the bi community.
this does not change that pansexuality originated in transphobia and biphobia. this does not change that it is a synonym for bi but with a more fucked up history. while bi people are very capable of transphobia, it is and was always meant to be inclusive to trans people the same way as any other sexuality. its a term that came from freud that characterized bi people as sex obsessed freaks (you know, the way biphobes tend to do) and gained popularity as a bdsm term as in implication that bi wasnt “inclusive” enough, which others trans people in a way that implies we need a whole separate sexuality just for “transexuals”. this is why i take issue with people who know about its source and still id as pan.
this will be my last post on this and about you in general. you can continue to stalk my blog but i think youll find it boring and unproductive. just dont fucking talk to me again.
in conclusion,

1,5,9 for the problematic ship meme.
Gotta put something here because tumblr won’t let me put a read more otherwise because tumblr is a functioning website.
1) what is your favorite problematic ship?
Axel/Roxas turned me into a weeping bawlbaby long before it was problematic and it always will. I also shipped zadr and beetlebabes as a kid and it’ll take a lot more than antis to shake me from it.
5) a ship you like but can’t find content for because it’s a fanpol fave?
I’d love some more content of Val/Angel that isn’t just about what a tremendous piece of shit Val is. It’s kind of a dilemma, because the whole reason I feel so free to love Valentino is the fact that we’re not supposed to like him at all, and nobody does.
It’s just that with people like Val, when it’s good, it’s really good, and when it’s bad, it’s really, really, really bad.
9) a character that did a lot of things wrong in canon that you think fandom woobifies?
Kagome from Inuyasha was the first character I ever encountered to be so abusive and cruel and be celebrated for it that it made me cry. I kind of hoped time would have treated her less kindly, but nope.
I like Garnet from Steven Universe, I just don’t like the way she gets away with some pretty nasty things because she’s “made of love.” I fucking despise Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time, who forced herself on someone and suffered zero consequences.
I’ve gotten a legit callout post because I can’t stand Isabela from Dragon Age. I also loathe Cullen from Dragon Age or Iron Bull from Dragon Age for a lot of the very same reasons, but I’ve never been accused of racism because of it. I also really dislike Liara from Mass Effect.
That’s the short list, but you as can kind of see, my fandom pet peeve is characters being violently abusive/outright murderous or violating sexual consent and being coddled and celebrated for it, not because of anything in their histories, but just because they exist.
(Unfortunately, this tends to overlap with a lot of female characters, but I also stan a ton of ladies that no one likes, so I like to think it balances out. Just ask me about Vivienne and Seladon. Hell, if you’ve got all day, ask me about the Light Fury.)

okay then how about top ten characters? also if you want, talk about them. also include extras if you can't decide. fangirl at me. i think i owe you one after the janet thing :DDD
what have u done.. i cant be trusted to talk about stuff i like. this will be LONG
i’ll try to be somewhat coherent tho………  jk no i won’t
Laura Roslin (battlestar galactica)ok so Laura will always be my number one bc Laura is the one i relate to the most. like… on a deep dark messed up personal level, also i feel like my whole life is a big messy rant about Laura and theres not much left to say: i would throw myself out of an airlock for her. she’s strong, she’s a fighter, she’s in charge, she’s the one that always has to make the hard decisions bc all the men around her talk the talk but when the time comes and they are faced with a moral dilemma and there’s no way of knowing what the right choice is, suddenly they’re all like ‘i know i said the military should be in charge, and that you’re just a schoolteacher and im the Big Macho Man™ but this is too hard 😭😭😭 and i dont want people to hate me’…. ok that might be more specific that i intended…..she steps up to the plate and she takes whatever its thrown her way. i goddamn fucking love laura roslin
Kathryn Janeway (star trek voyager)janeway is a fucking boss. she just is. she’s also the best captain, sorry boysnerves of steel, authoritative af, listen to others but always trusts her instincts, diplomatic, kickass, avid coffee drinker, takes care of her people. 10/10 would drink neelix’s coffee substitute for her……….. ok maybe 8/10 that thing looked nasty
Briony Tallis (atonement)she’s been my favorite literature character (apart from hp universe) for years. really messed up, trying very hard to atone for her past mistakes and finally realizing thats not always possible
Minerva McGonagall (harry potter)i dont have to say anything, everyone loves Minnie McGee and so they should. BAMF
Albus Dumbledore (harry potter)listen, i grew up with harry potter and just like it happened with harry, dumble was the only father figure i had. unlike the snape discourse (where im 100% with calling him an asshole bc he was) i have some issues dealing with people who think dumbledore was a bad person. i remember looking up to him as a child, he was kind and accepting of others and he had that omniscient thing about him. if something was scary (bear in mind i started reading the hp books at age 9) the moment dumbledore showed up i felt safe, and it felt like i didn’t have to worry anymore bc dumbles was there. as i grew up i started to realize he wasn’t infallible, but although he made mistakes his heart was always in the right place. im a little pragmatic so i understand the necessity of making questionable decisions for ‘the greater good’, and it also made me feel for him to see how much it troubled him. i could go on and on about this tho, and im fighting the urge to give examples and analyse every one of them. i just have a lot of feels about dumbledore….
Severus Snape (harry potter)oh boy oh boy, i’ll keep this one short because this one is a handful.
i love snape as a character
i think snape is an asshole
i 100% accept when people hate snape
snape was a bully
BUT i hate when people hate on him for the wrong reasons
here’s the thing: snape represents redemption. he’s someone who made terrible mistakes in his youth (mmm, theres a theme here somewhere) and committed himself to spend the rest of his life trying to make up for it (again, not always possible). so it bothers me when people crucify snape for what he did in his youth, but never have anything to say about james potter.so again, snape was an asshole who used his position as an authority figure to bully children. he was the worst. you have plenty to hate on him there (rightfully so)
Theresa Cullen (westworld)god this was such a good character, i started calling her a future roslin bc i had such hopes for her in the future. she was complex, smart, sassy, and even had her own gaius baltar…. but ……………… SPOILERS………………………….. she dead.
Birgitte Nyborg (borgen)now i cant say much about birgitte bc im still on season two and i have a feeling we’re gonna get a lot of character development soon. here’s someone who got into politics bc she wanted to do the right thing and soon realized politics is the devil’s playground. it’s very interesting for me to watch birgitte navigating her way through the intricacies of modern politics and trying to preserve her morals and idealismalso her husband is a jerk
Sharon Raydor (the closer)now i make a pretty big distinction between the closer’s sharon raydor and major crimes’ sharon raydor. not that i dont adore the later but its not the same character. i LOVED sassy, quirky, awkward sharon okay? i love sharon’s raised eyebrow and low hums when faced with brenda’s chaotic methods. i love how awkward and out of place she was in social situations. I LOVE HER STUPID LITTLE WAVE AT THE CAMERA WHEN BRENDA IS UNDERCOVER I LOVE WHEN SHE KEEPS BEING HIT BY DOORS BC THIS IDIOT IS TOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO ACTUALLY STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM, shes an adorable little turtle and i love her
Chrisjen Avasarala (the expanse)my youngest, came in like a wrecking ball.this is the HOLY GRAIL OF ALL BADASS LADIES okay? she’s the most unapologetic sass queen ive ever encountered. she looks AMAZING sari game on point. owns every single person in the roomshe’s laura roslin if laura roslin was fire instead of ice. IM IN LOVE

|| So, this is going to be a little different from my other posts. Or anything I thought I’d ever have to post. But some things need to be said.
I’m going to cut to the chase, this is a little well..callout post towards one of the bigger content creators in the spamano side of the fandom. Romanope to be exact.  I want to make very clear that I do not have grudge against this person and I do not want people to go after her. So, why am I doing this? First of all, I’m not doing this to be mean or to start shit, though I know it’s going to be unavoidable. But like I mentioned before, some things just need to be said.  I am fully aware that I am most likely going to get a good handful of death threats and hate anons for speaking up, but I am fully prepared. Someone needs to take the bullet, right? So, first of all my personal issue with Kota would be..stealing my design. And making profit off of it.   I started working on a cosplay of prince!Romano/Spain back in 2017. Hours of work. The costume was my everything. My pride and joy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I truly worked hard on it.  Well, as time passed, I thought of selling my work, and Kota was interested. I explained my details to her. How the collar and sleeves had rose patterned lace, everything.  Only to see this not too long after.
Tumblr media
Kota’s prince!Romano design which was..dangerously similar to mine. Even down to the rose lace in the collar and sleeves. I was..hurt at the time. But I was afraid of saying anything. I didn’t want to cause a fire, you know? I still don’t.
Tumblr media
Well, would you look at that. It’s her tictail page, selling adorable little keychains with..a strangely familiar design. Again, it hurt. It’s been bothering me for a hot minute now.  I just..don’t think this is right? And this isn’t the only time this has happened. But that is a whole another can of worms.  However, this isn’t only about me. I thought if I was going to do this, I should at least let people know what’s really going on with this person.  How she treats people and characters.   Because most people seem to look away whenever things like this happen and I’m tired of that. So, I talked to multiple people who I will not name for the sake of their privacy..and I made a list of things that should be noted about her. - Doesn’t take criticism on her art if it suggests she has made a mistake - darkens characters for minority points regardless if the majority of the population looks otherwise, doesn't bother to listen to people from the nation suggesting more realistic ones, and suggests such coloration is superior when in fact it just tokenizes minorities instead  of drawing characters with their proper skin tones or at least a reasonable one to represent the culture rather than just making everyone darker. - sending her friends on witch hunts to those who have either wronged her in a way or called out her actions which have lead to death threats, r*pe threats, and anon hate that has caused great distress - stalked people's accounts/sent spies onto their accounts after drama - excluding people she has issues with from things she hosts - intolerance towards others with differing ideas from her unless they can provide her with some sort of benefit. - favoritism towards more popular/elite people and often ignores those who don’t make the cut - calling those with strong differing opinions toxic people - stolen designs/art/ideas from other people without credit or eliminating the credit from what she has taken after some time - a clear Fandom Elite attitude where she believes she is above other people and wants to remain "on top". - hypocrisy in purchases. Places a specific worth on her work (which is fine) but then goes and demands same or better quality work from others for much less than it is worth or than she would accept - entitled attitude towards Spamano, and the characters Spain and Romano - refusing to handle issues properly and acting childish when confronted or when reconciliation is attempted - habit of using people for the benefits that they can bring her - seeing things very black and white with no in between - overall toxic "bad think" mentality where anything differing from the deemed perfect view is bad and unforgivable. - refusal to admit when she is the wrong - manipulative and would rather vague blog, send anon hate, or even send a witch hunt than talk to the person or block them I have more material, but to be honest..I’m exhausted as it is. Exhausted knowing I will be the one getting anon hate, death threats and so on, just for speaking up. I do not think Kota is a bad person, but I wouldn’t call her innocent or a saint either. Hell, even I’m not a saint. No one is.  I just wanted people to be aware of this and things that have happened and are happening.  I do want to encourage people to speak up instead of hiding away, though. Stay strong, and don’t let people walk all over you.  ~ Riri

okay since SOME people are blind, here's the “proof” for this post, which frankly I shouldn't need to give because ops url is literally a reference to a 13-year-olds underwear
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It takes only a quick search of ops blog to see exactly what I was talking about, but I understand that it was on me to not include them in the original post, so here are some links and explanations for people who’re confused.
Most of it will be covered in the actual post but here is op calling killua (who’s 12/13 in canon) babe/husband, and while op doesn’t have their age listed on their blog, they say that these jokes were something that carried over from their middle school days, implying that they are no longer killua’s age  x x
Tumblr media
This is the suggestive art of killua in question, both the pose and shading accentuate his crotch area, which doesn’t even need to be explained why that’s suggestive. Not to mention that you call him “kil” in it and a lot of other things, a name used by his abusers to dehumanize him, needless to say, its gross
Tumblr media
the fact that these are middle school jokes does not matter. A character can be your favorite character without making sexual jokes about them, especially if they are underaged, and the fact you continue to do so despite knowing full well that you’re now out of his age range comes off as pedophilic even if you yourself aren’t a “pedophile”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reason I added this to the “”callout”” was because that post was specifically made to warn my mutuals and followers about someone who’s art could be triggering. The problem isn’t that the drawing was made in good fun, its that it comes off as normalizing abuse by depicting an abuser interacting normally with his victims. The problem isn’t that you drew a sexualized drawing of an adult who expresses his sexuality within the canon, the problem is that you drew a sexualized drawing of a character whos canonically a pedophile (and before someone jumps me, drawing a character with their chest exposed and dripping with sweat/water is sexualizing)
Tumblr media
First of all? that post wasn’t even a callout. it was a warning to my mutuals/followers and like-minded people about things they’ve done that could be triggering or make people extremely uncomfortable. A callout is something that you put effort and time into to warn a huge group of people at once about someone’s actions, often giving thought into the long term. That post took me 10 seconds to make, I wasn’t thinking of this being a constantly reblogged thing, it was a quick and concise warning, nothing more nothing less.
Adding on, the fact isn’t that they were the “only person” to draw cutesy illumi art because they’re right, they weren’t. It’s a long-running issue in the fandom and the reason I added it to the post was that, as stated before, that post was meant for people who already agree with me or have similar morals to myself. I’m not purposefully ignoring the half the fandom, i have most of them blocked for this exact reason. It doesn’t matter if kilspantsu or the rest of the illumi stans condone abuse or not in their own minds, the fact stands that them normalizing interactions between illumi and his victims comes off as abuse apology, even if they didn’t mean for it to. That’s the effect drawing an abuser and his victims has.
“It’s possible to block tags, because there will be people who enjoy him as a character, not what he does and will draw him because of that.” Yes, which is exactly why I made that post so that people who are following me could block op. I did not send tumblr users or my friends to harass them, I didn’t tag them in the post, I simply made a warning and posted it. I “called out” op specifically because I’d seen them on my dash, not because I was spinning a wheel and writing “callouts” at random users in the hunter x hunter fandom, it was simply a reaction to something I saw happening in front of me, nothing more nothing less.

Hello, Haddock! Now that Voltron (sadly) ended, how would you rank the seasons? Also, could you tell how many times you've rewatched them?
Hey there, friend! WAY happy to chat Voltron and all its seasons!
Unlike most fandom culture, I’m not a chronic rewatcher, and the default assumption is that I’ve only seen any show once. It’s rare for me to see shows more than once, honestly, even ones I love. I certainly will be watching VLD more times, but because of my normal watching habits, I’ve seen a large portion of the show only once. I’ve seen S1 probably about 5 times, S2 thrice, S3-4 twice, and S5+ once. I’ve seen “The Last Stand” from S7 twice.
These are rankings based somewhat upon my emotional attachments and not simply objective elements like narrative structure! XD I already know my preferences are going to be different than lots of people in the VLD fandom, haha. These rankings are also based on memory, which is pretty strong admittedly for VLD, but it leaves room to change with a rewatch.
EIGHTH PLACE: VLD Season 8
Tumblr media
Let’s be clear: I don’t dislike Season 8 and there’s much I enjoy. Give it up for S8 love!!! Standout episodes to me include “Launch Date,” “The Prisoner’s Dilemma,” and “Day Forty-Seven.” The women going shopping together and Pidge dressing as 1980s Darrell Stoker made my life. Not to mention… it was fun spending time with the MFEs; they didn’t take a disproportionate amount of time, but gave us good moments to make us love them. I’m thankful for the S8 ending giving us both a sense of wrap-up for the plot conflicts, but also looking forward to what our Paladins will do to rejuvenate the galaxy. There’s much I’m thankful for with S8.
That said, S8 isn’t my jam as much as other seasons. I’m not much of a shipper and I wasn’t into the Allurance, nor did I get pulled into the magic-heavy plot conflict with Haggar and her Alteans. And while S7 does give great screen time to Allura, it felt a little less like an ensemble cast and more like a spotlight on her. Enemies’ minds changed too fast for me to feel realistic, and the magic-wonky plot didn’t feel as gripping and intense as S7. It’s the reason I’m placing S8 here: from my own preferences, I attached with other seasons more.
SEVENTH PLACE: VLD Season 5
Tumblr media
For whatever reason, S5 didn’t make as much of an impression on me as other seasons. I wasn’t as invested in concepts like “Kral Zera” and “White Lion.” Given as S5 is an odd numbered season in the middle portion of Voltron, it has an innate disadvantage: it’s written in all but name as the first half of a season, which means story arc ending payoffs wouldn’t happen until S6. I also feel like S5 is where plot writing is at one of its most tangled or muddied, given as there’s lots being juggled and introduced conflict-wise and lore-wise and universe-wise and character-wise.
However, S5 - like all seasons - gives us cool stuff. We got Matt (one of my favorite characters) participating in an adventure, lots of Lotor screentime, and a callout to 1980s DOTU that I never thought they’d be able to turn into a good episode (“White Lion”). And!!! We get to meet!!! KROLIA!!!
SIXTH PLACE: VLD Season 3
Tumblr media
I have particularly fond attachment to S3. This is the season where I started getting actively involved in Voltron fandom discourse, giving my own take on Project Kuron theories. This is the season that gave us the first glimpse of the Classic Voltron formation - Keith in Black, Lance in Red, Pidge in Green, Allura in Blue, Hunk in Yellow. I felt a thrill go through me as Keith, for the first time, said “Form Voltron!” Also… Lance really stepping up to show his leadership potential??? So good. And this is the season where we meet Lotor, another long-anticipated character… and oh my goodness is his character introduction gold. So there’s lots of stuff I hold strong affinity for in S3.
The reason I have to rank Season 3 back here is because it’s more about the Paladins floundering around than anything else. It’s meant to create a new sense of chaos and instability… their leader Shiro is gone, and now there are new unexpected threats like Lotor to handle. However, at the same time, since half of the season is just the Paladins floundering around not knowing how to work together, it makes me less attached to particular episodes. None of the episodes are favorites or standouts to me on their own. There’s lots of cool moments throughout S3, but I think the only episode I notably emotionally attach to is “The Journey.” But still? Good season!
FIFTH PLACE: VLD Season 1
Tumblr media
I can’t believe I have this amazing season all the way back here. I want it to be higher, except that I do have to rank other seasons above this one.
Season 1 is what gets everything started. It sets the stage for what Voltron’s all about, teaching us about lions and robeasts and Zarkon and the Galaxy Garrison and all that good stuff from 1980s nostalgia… all the while creating a new vibe and energy to the franchise. In retrospect, S1 feels much calmer and less high-stakes than the rest of the series (especially post S2). However, it’s a solid season with good episodes that never feel less solid and good. We get great Hunk material with him finding conviction; great Shiro and Pidge moments as they share different worries over the abduction; hilarious Keith and Lance clashes; lots and lots and lots of good things. It’s a very solid season, especially once we launch off Arus.
FOURTH PLACE: VLD Season 6
Tumblr media
If you want to know how tight my season rankings are to each other, S6 was almost listed second place.
I attach to specific episodes in particular for S6. I love the visuals in “Razor’s Edge.” I died howling with laughter in “Monsters & Mana.” I fell into so many emotional feels regarding Keith and Shiro in “The Black Paladins.” We get one of the all-time best emotional, action-oriented episodes of VLD… and one of the most amazing, hysterical filler episodes in S6. Despite being seven episodes long, S6 is an incredible ride and adventure start to end. It’s hard to believe so much occurred in that amount of time!
There’s hoards of great stuff in this season. We get the Kuron arc resolved, with lots of emotional content between Keith and Shiro. We get the Lotor arc resolved, learning whether or not he can be trusted, with great Lotor and Allura time. We get Keith returning to the Paladins. We get the introduction of Romelle, which all DOTU lovers have been waiting for forever.
THIRD PLACE: VLD Season 4
Tumblr media
I have to put VLD S4 here because of its emotional power. There are damned AMAZING moments this season, alongside some of my favorite episodes and moments of all time. I know I and some of the other fans aren’t huge on “The Voltron Show!” But fuck it, guys, S4 gave us “Reunion” and “A New Defender”!!!
Matt is a delight this season, from his first meeting of Allura, to his tour around the Castle of Lions with Pidge, to his technological connections with his sister and Hunk, to his participation in the Rebels’ fighting forces. We also get some of the funniest moments for me in Voltron, between learning how to milk Kaltenecker and seeing HOW Pidge finally managed to rig up the video game system.
Then there’s the opposite end of the emotional spectrum. “Reunion” is the single most emotional episode in all of Voltron for me. Even though I’d seen screencaps of Matt prior to watching S4, I felt as shocked and heartbroken as Pidge to come to his gravestone. There’s so much POWER to this gravestone scene; it’s one of the moments that resonates with me the most even after I’ve finished the whole show. It might even be my Number One FAVORITE moment in the entire show. It’s not my place to analyze that scene here, but DAMN.
Furthermore, the climax with the battle of Naxzela was INTENSE, with Keith almost sacrificing himself getting me screaming. That was such a great battle and climactic moment in VLD. This was a great culminating moment, in which the series has officially built up from a small team to a universe-wide conflict.
We get standout moments with Keith being badass with the blades, Matt taking initiative, Pidge seeking out her family, Allura helping Voltron flee the gravity field, Kuron becoming increasingly more suspicious. VLD S4 ramps everything up from the emotions to the excitement, resulting in an awesome and intense six episodes.
SECOND PLACE: VLD Season 7
Tumblr media
It’s really hard for me to put this as second place instead of first place. I originally had it in first place. I want it to be first place. I LOVE the second half of S7 so much. This is, possibly, my favorite season from an emotional standpoint because wow.
It’s all-around outstanding. S7 showed us how far the Paladins have come as heroes; they operate with great teamwork, skill, and professionalism that is oh-so-cool to see on screen. They’re still the characters we love and cherish, but they’ve grown SO MUCH since their first days on Voltron. This is fully-fledged heroes doing fully-fledged battles and it’s GREAT.
S7 gives us standout moments to so many characters, including Hunk, Shiro, Sam, Colleen, Veronica, and Keith. We even get some good adventure time with Romelle! And as far as character interactions are concerned, we get touching moments between Keith and Lance, Keith and Hunk, and so many other combinations.
The story raises the stakes to higher levels than ever before, with an emotional and exciting conquest of Earth. There’s nothing more horrible and high-stakes to audiences than a homefront war. We feel extreme pain for Hunk with fears for his family, and Shiro for the loss of Adam. We feel the great sense of danger and desperation starting with “The Last Stand.” We feel the drama of a long and extended climax fighting for Earth’s freedom, including moments where the Paladins control the Lions outside their body (so cool), Shiro commands the ATLAS (SO cool), and the ATLAS also transforms into a fighting robot (SO FREAKING COOL!). This has some of the most exciting, badass stuff of Voltron ever. I love it.
Highlight episodes for me are “The Last Stand” (two episodes without the Paladins about Earth fighting for its freedom? this was fucking amazing), “Trial By Fire,” and “Lions’ Pride.” Essentially - all of the second half of the season.
FIRST PLACE: Season 2
Tumblr media
Season 2 is probably THE MOST solid season in all of VLD.
Almost every episode is good, memorable, fun, lovable, enjoyable, classic. It highlights the full ensemble cast. It creates an EXTREMELY exciting, exhilarating, fun climax. It is a strong narrative season, cleanly and proudly finishing the first 26 episode long arc for VLD. This season shows VLD at its best. Since it consistently delivers, there’s nowhere else S2 belongs except the top.
We get great Shiro time, what with his arc spent learning to trust Black… leading to him being a badass unlocking the Lion’s wings and taking Zarkon’s bayard. We get great Pidge time, whether it’s her freaking out over video games or drawing deeper into the beauty of the world - technology and biology both. We get great Keith time, with him fighting for answers in the Blade of Marmora and infiltrating Zarkon’s base in an extremely dangerous mission. We get great Hunk time, between unlocking his Lion’s claws and taking initiative in the Weblum adventure. We get great Lance moments, where he shows us he truly can be a sharpshooter for the team. We get great Allura moments, especially in how she fought against Haggar in the finale. This season rocks it for EVERY Paladin.
Not only does every individual Paladin get good spotlighting, but S2 also rocks it with character interactions. How Allura handles Keith being Galra is a memorable moment of character development for both of them. How Hunk and Keith interact in “The Belly of the Weblum” is a delight. How Shiro loses his cool with Slav is hysterical. I can never complain to Lance and Hunk combinations, like in “The Depths.” And of course every episode focused on Keith and Shiro gives us good feels.
Standout episodes for S2 include “The Ark of Taujeer” (THE COLORS), “The Blade of Marmora,” “Blackout,” “Space Mall.” I cannot believe I watched an episode where the character dressed as space pirates and rode on a flying cow to escape a mall cop. That happened. It’s a delight. And S2 kept rocking it with the humor, down to Pidge creating all her Paladin buddies out of space junk and imitating them. But S2 also gives us some of the most memorable moments of VLD storytelling, what with “The Blade of Marmora.” That episode is a staple for many reasons. Not to mention… all of S2 works together cohesively for the long-term arc structure.
And then there’s the climax. So well-done. So exciting. So immersive. So intense. So cool. So badass. Great colors, great flow, great plot, great everything start to end. I was in a THRILL at the end of S2 because this climax was so unbelievably fun. In retrospect it’s got competition with S7, and S7 probably takes the cake now… but fuck it, S2′s end will always be awesome.
Tumblr media
Every single season in VLD gives me something to be excited about. There are things to love each step of the journey. I’m thankful for every episode from S1 to S8.
What a ride this journey has been.

callout post for aineedhelp dumbposting majimaguro
@dumbposting @majimaguro since you've been harassing my friends I figured I'd lay this out for you in no uncertain terms. Kyle, if you read this, scroll down to the bottom where there's a screenshot of Charlie literally telling you to die.
Hi Charlie. I deadass had to make a tumblr for this bullshit because your lying has really gotten excessive. I mean really? Telling people you’re 23? Telling people that you were groomed by us? Telling people we forced you to ditch your friends when all you’d do is complain to us about how uncomfortable x person would make you with their requests for sexual roleplay, or their aggressive demeanor, or their shipping wants? Telling people you were abused by us when you clearly have done this more than twice to different friend groups and when one group falls apart you move on to the next and start your predatory cycle all over again???
I can see you do this for every friend group you make, no matter who it is, where they are. You know how I see this? Because you are saying that we did what you told us your old friends were doing - Jasper, Robin, and Merc. You’ve moved the narrative that THEY were sexually abusive groomers/manipulators over to us since your new group of friends doesn’t know about them outside of the parts those new friends (your dear friends who never hurt you ever even though you consistently complain about said new friends behind their backs!) play and now, suddenly, WE were sexually abusive groomers/manipulators because you milked the attention and pity you could get out of us over the awful things you said about Jasper, Robin, and Merc, and in the process you eventually abused the two people who had the patience to stick out that behaviour SO MUCH and for SO LONG that you alienated them. Once they were over how you treated them, then suddenly, they were the bad guys. And you wouldn’t stop rocking the boat because you needed to have your endless little baby tantrum. Now that you’ve pulled the trigger, you can’t unshoot that bullet.
Newsflash? When these people told you THEIR BOUNDARIES - something that amazingly seems to only be valid when you do it - you got pissed at them. When people told you THEY COULDN’T HANDLE SOMETHING - like, oh, you know, detailed descriptions of severe animal trauma/death, or being told repetitively and graphically that you were going to kill yourself/how you were going to do it, they were suddenly awful. Well, you know what? That is textbook manipulation, to use a phrase you seem so fond of. Guilting people for having boundaries and making them feel bad for drawing lines because they want to have a healthy relationship with their friends isn’t bad, you just don’t like it because it means you can no longer do what you want or treat people like crap without repercussions.
You are a cruel person. You don’t care about anybody but yourself. You are a self-serving, self-driven, emotionless asshole that knows how to twist situations to be in your favor because your favorite tactic is to divide people up from one another so they have less and less outside views of what your treatment is actually like. It takes a lot of practice to be able to do something like you do for so long and so aggressively so I imagine you’ve been doing this for years. You hook someone - or multiple someones - in by being nice and personable and funny and relatable, then you destroy your friend groups by pitting people against one another and when you’ve isolated the people you’re obsessing over, you flip the switch and start to abuse them in private.
And you know what? You are not the victim in this narrative. You are just another abusive jerk who knows you can get that attention from someone somewhere as long as you twist the narrative to fit your ‘I’ve been abused my friends all treat me horribly’ angle. And you know what? I’m sick of you. I’m sick of how you treat my friends, I’m sick of how you treat people in general. You make me sick and if you’re proud of that, that’s not a badge of honor or pride. That means that you are exactly like your father.
You don’t get to be out here and be like ‘oh no! it was me who was hurt by these people!’ when you're the one harassing them with your nasty, miserable anon hate even though they’ve blocked you time and time again.
Steven showed me the conversation where you exploded at him for saying he needed a moment, because apparently it’s fucked up to not be able to handle graphic depictions of an animal’s death, and somehow saying that he couldn’t handle that in that moment was a personal attack and he was betraying you by being an unsupportive friend? People have triggers, hunty, you aren’t god’s gift to this earth and you aren’t the only person to have those! HE tried to set his boundaries and what did you do? You shit all over them. You only care about boundaries if they’re your own and if anybody else has one they try to set with you they’re suddenly awful and someone to be tossed aside.
And you know what else? You forcing Sam to deal with your maladjusted stalking all the time because you’re out here harassing him via tumblr dot com isn't cute. You’re entirely, creepily obsessed with him and irrationally upset that he stood up for himself and got tired of you treating him like your own personal emotional punching-bag. You are a pathetic, vengeful little person who has no life and nothing to do but troll the internet for victims and people you can trick into giving you sympathy until you inevitably wring them dry too and then you abandon them because they won’t give you what you want anymore.
Go fuck yourself. Get fucked, stay fucked. You complained to us and cried to us about Merc and Jasper and Robin and how they either wouldn’t stop bothering you for sexual RP or wouldn’t stop guilting you or pushing you in that direction, or how Robin wouldn’t stop trying to force you to say what she wanted you to say, and now you’re LITERALLY saying that about Steve and Sam? You are not. The fucking. Victim. Here. You are the orchestrator to an amazingly convoluted drama that rotates around you and you alone and I’m sick of this and I’m sick of you and I’m sick of having to hear about the lies you’re posting about my friends.
Tumblr media
By the way? You aren’t 23. You are 27 by now! De-aging yourself to seem younger and more vulnerable only works when people don’t know you’re actually older - which, by the way, is SUPER creepy of you to do because it gets you closer to a younger demographic and endears you to them because oh! wow! You’re young and abused just like them! Do you know how fucked up it is to position yourself closer to younger, less experienced, vulnerable people like that? Do you know how fucked up it is to try and net those poor kids with your sob stories and how these ‘bad oldew peopow abewsed yew uwu’ even though that wasn’t the case? It puts you in a position of power and it gives you the reigns in any interactions you have with anybody younger than you and that is creepy and disgusting and you are creepy and disgusting for doing it, especially since your tumblr is filled with a mixture of sfw and 18+ content with zero 18+ follower requirement.
And you know what-- in the same vein, you use your being autistic as a sob story point to make it sound like one more way that you’ve been taken advantage of, but in reality you’re actually the one out here taking advantage of those around you and you’re being ableist while you do it? Wow. Wowiee wow wow.
You infantilize autistic people and say in the process that, in a blanket statement, ALL autistic people can’t fend for themselves or see anything coming at them from a mile away. On top of that, you shit on other autistic people’s special interests? Do you have any idea how many autistic people are out there with special interests focused around kid’s shows, or cartoons in general, or anime, or fandoms? No? Well, here’s a clue: there’s a lot of us (and yes, I am autistic, and yes, I do have special interests involving anime and fandoms, and no, I’m not a predator and I am DEFINITELY not the one out here creepily de-aging themselves to endear themselves to younger people like you are) with special interests ranging from anything from MLP to mushrooms to My Hero Academia (which is, for the record, one of Steve’s special interests, which you shit on him for, you ableist fuck) to Stephen King’s IT and you don’t get to say it’s predatory to have special interests in these areas!!!!!
You are not only perpetuating stereotypes about autistic people but you’re encouraging them because these stereotypes suit you and your current narrative! You’re using the same exact arguments that neurotypicals use! And you know what ELSE? Way to suggest that autistic people who have special interests that aren’t ‘adult’ are predators, too, you nasty little weasel. That’s the kind of narrative that gets autistic people killed!!! How selfish ARE you?
But wait, we really, really aren’t done here. I would really like to address your obsession with accusing people of being groomers and/or predators.
YOU LITERALLY ROLEPLAYED EDDIE KASPBRACK. YOU ROLEPLAYED HIM AS AGE SIXTEEN AND YOU HAVE DONE SO IN A SEXUAL AND SEXUAL-ADJACENT MANNER. YOU SMUT ROLEPLAYED SEXUAL CONTENT ON A CHARACTER THAT WAS SIXTEEN. YOU ALSO ROLEPLAY AS SHERRY BIRKIN FROM RESIDENT EVIL. SHE IS TEN. YOU CAN’T SAY SHIT. YOU. CAN’T. SAY. SHIT. YOU WROTE SMUT AS UNDERAGE CHARACTERS WHILE USING REAL LIFE UNDERAGE FACECLAIMS AND NOW YOU’RE OUT HERE SAYING THAT SIMPLY WATCHING THESE SHOWS AND BEING INTO THESE FANDOMS IS PEDOPHILIC? I don’t think so. I really, really do not think so.
Saying stuff like ‘reblogging anime posts or gifs or art is child porn’ also belittles and undermines actual CSA/pedophilia victims which is one more tally on the list of fucked up shit you’ve done. Way to be one of those people out there who do their best to divert valuable time and resources that could be spent on actual CSA victims instead of fictional fucking people.
This is a two-way street. You rant about how this is a 13+ site and how adults are responsible for kids in their spaces WHEN THEY HAVE ALREADY GONE TO REASONABLE LENGTHS TO PREVENT MINORS FROM GETTING AT THEIR CONTENT, but you’re always going on about getting high and doing drugs and talking about onlyfans which is AN ADULT SUBSCRIPTION WEBSITE GEARED TOWARDS PEOPLE WHO MAKE PORN OR FETISH CONTENT. You have absolutely ZERO 18+ content warning or follower requirement on your blog! Which is made creepier by the fact that you’ve de-aged yourself by a whole four years, you’re making yourself out to be some kind of abused child who was manipulated by older people, and you’re trying to speak for children. It’s wack.
For the record, being mentally ill is not an excuse for any of this at all whatsoever. If you hurt someone and you are mentally ill that is still on you. It is on you to learn to live with mental illness and not hurt those around you. When your shitty actions give someone else trauma, that is your fault, and it does have an effect on them, and it does hurt them. Fuck off with that 'no accountability' bullshit you're peddling. That's not how life works. Your actions have affected those around you and it takes a massive amount of willful ignorance to go around acting like you don't fucking know that already, especially considering that other people’s mental illnesses hurt you-- unless you were lying to us about that, too.
Get some fucking help and get out of our collective DMs........ Or don’t and get high like you always do instead of accepting responsibility for your actions, Mr. 'I'm lucid enough to be able to blame my mental illness for my own behaviour when that bs wouldn't even hold up in court'. Whatever.
I’m done with your shit.
Here's some receipts. Kyle, whoever you are, I suggest you run the fuck away before they start doing to you what they've done to Steve and Sam. Good luck having a friend who non-jokingly says they wish you would die because that is extraordinarily fucked up.

answer the following for your muse so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. don’t reblog.
Tumblr media
WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?: Having so many, I’ll just do it generally though don’t get me wrong, every one of my muses have different ways of expressing and showing love. I guess generally, when someone partners up with my muses, as long as they love them, then I’m satisfied.
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?: From fluff to hardcore angst. I’m still new in the NSFW scene so I’m not really gonna do that very much.
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?: I’m comfy with anything but when it gets past something like 17 years and one of them is a minor then it gets a little weird (unless the appeared age for a snake or demon is a minor but is like 1274 years old). Though, I get so much crap, my friends get so much crap and it annoys me to all hell when people get anal about age gap. If my friends ship a character that has a 10 years age gap and I don’t like it, that’s fine. I can just ask them to tag it so I can blacklist. If you don’t like my ships, tell me and I’ll tag it or silently unfollow. Though, what I’m not going to do is insult them or be a 7 year old brat and try to get your butthurt friends to talk smack about them and call them a pedo. It makes me laugh when people have so much free time to make a callout post. Don’t do that, thanks.
I write about people eating eyes and selling drugs, that doesn’t mean I go around doing either.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
Not really.
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS.FW?: When the clothes start coming off.
WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?: Cries, I shipped lots with casper, aku, megumi, E and a lot of other people so it’s a bit painful to list them all.
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?: I’m a bit wavey hand about it but ye, do tell me when your muse is falling in love and I’ll think about it.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?: Sw e a ts.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP?: Yes
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?: *wavey hand*
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?: Fandomless
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?: Pre-established ships are nice so you can ask me about that right off the bat. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll tell you. If we’ve been rping for a long time and your muses is falling in love, let me know and I’ll check if they feel the same way.

15-will the Miya brothers appear in chiaroscuro?, 38, 41-chiaroscuro, 43-Kuroo and Kenma, 48-kuroken?
enough of these are asking about future stuff that i’m going to stick them all under the readmore.
ask meme for fic writers.
15: ask me any spoilers you’re curious about for a verse, and i’ll post the answer in the tags
right now, i think the answer is probably yes, for at least one of them. i’m waiting to see how their characterization pans out, but there is a role i imagine for both of them and i think it’ll pull together a plot hole i’ve been working to fit. so the answer is a tentative “yes.”
38: do you title your chapters? what’s your favorite chapter title? what’s its significance/why did you choose it?
ck’s chapter titles were all japanese proverbs about cats, since the fic’s title came from an american proverb about cats. i conveniently had found a list of them and used them throughout that story. then i agonized over how to chapter pf, and eventually decided on using quotes from the little prince, which has worked out pretty well! i think the only chapters i’ve titled recently are in answbl, and those are all the titles of different zelda games. there are small callouts between which game i chose and what’s happening in each chapter, but they’re mostly just going in order through the games.
as for a favorite chapter title, maybe “but if you tame me, then we shall need each other.” it took me awhile to figure out where to start that story, but eventually i think that title sums up the entire theme of the series pretty well, and it feels right that a story started there.
41: chapter that was the most fun to write in this verse?
probably chapter 5 of curiosity kills. it was a lot less stressful, since the main plot had technically resolved, and i loved dropping a bunch of hints about what i had planned for upcoming stories. i also liked giving my characters a bit of time to relax after everything they’d already gone through! i think chapter 10 of pride falls is probably going to be much the same, so i’m excited to write it.
43: emoji this character uses the most whilst texting?
i imagine kenma using this one – (。•ˇ‸ˇ•。) and kuroo using (。◝‿◜。)
48: a happy future moment you’ve written/have planned for this ship? (will post under read more for spoilers)
pride falls chapter 10 is very much a kuroken chapter. there will be: kissing, a date, and an expanding circle of friendship.

wyd if i told u to do 1-38 👀
the ‘be honest’ meme / @afterburied
ok below the cut bc this is a Long One
1. What would prevent you from following someone?
generally speaking just kinda if our writing doesn’t mesh? but also on different blogs i have different kind of vibes if you know what i mean? like here on jason i’m not likely to follow historical/extreme fantasy blogs if they don’t have some form of modern verse bc i just don’t see him in those settings, i also tend to avoid anyone who says they dont like multis/ocs even if it doesn’t apply on the blog im on bc uh we love multis and ocs here. sometimes if a blogs new i wont follow, but sometimes i will it just depends on the vibe lmao. sometimes aesthetics/etc will play a role but mostly it’s just based on rules/meshability
2. Are aesthetics important to you? If they are, why?
yes and no? like i won’t shun anyone for having “bad” aesthetics or anything, but i hold my own personal aesthetic to a higher regard? like, if someones aesthetic makes things unreadable/impossible to navigate then i hate it, but like i don’t care about other peoples aesthetic that much. if it’s pretty i definitely see the blog in a better light which im trying not to do, but mostly it’s my own aesthetics that matter to me and that’s just because i simply need to be perceived positively at all times
3. What current rp trend do you hate?
i don’t think there are any i really hate? as long as trends aren’t harmful i dont care much.
4. How do you explain rp to someone in the real world?
i don’t lmao the only person who knows about rp irl is my inner circle, and they know it as rp bc at least one of them has actually been in the rp world
5. Do you prefer interacting with male muses or female more? Why?
i don’t really have much preference? all genders bring in their own potential for different plots and dynamics and i love them all equally. but female muses and muses that don’t conform to the male/female binary are always favorites because they deserve more appreciation
6. Do you prefer writing male muses or female more? Why?
this one was actually hard to answer because like? i don’t know? i write plenty of both, and i feel like i prefer males, but also i think that’s just because of the way males tend to be treated over females? like some of my female muses are That Muse that never goes away, but because females tend to be more ignored or people just don’t read their info it’s never as fun writing them
7. What’s your opinion on call out posts?
sometimes they’re necessary, sometimes they’re not. i don’t really read them? unless it’s a callout that comes across my dash a lot or revolves around someone i know/write with. if it’s a legit predator then i say go off, but if it’s something petty or spiteful i think it just makes all parties involved look kinda bad.
8. Name any three things about the rpc that bother you.
answered here.
9. What is your opinion on exclusivity? Do you practice it? Why / why not?
i have in the past, i don’t really presently. i think sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s bad, and really depends on the fandoms/characters involved. like currently i have lea as my exclusive stiles and earth as my exclusive carol because they have such intense connections to jason and are literally a part of his backstory/canon so it would feel really strange to have another version of that muse come along and try to either fit the dynamic or ignore it. that said i have in the past had exclusives where it felt like i was trapped in it or didn’t get to explore more dynamics because of it, so it can be a win or a lose dependent on the person you’re exclusive with and what they’re like.
10. Have you ever had a bad experience with commissions? As either someone who makes them or as someone who buys them?
not really, no. i don’t think i’ve ever actually commissioned anyone, and the people who have commissioned me in the past have generally been really nice. there’s been a few times where people really don’t know what they want or change their mind constantly or just ghost before we get anywhere, but mostly it’s been a good experience for me.
11. What do you know now about rp that you wish you knew when you first started?
that literally nothing matters. who cares. take as long as you want, remake as much as you want. yes this is a hobby that depends on other people somewhat, but that doesn’t mean that everything you do should revolve around them. take mental health breaks, write in prose, have a super minimalist or super maximalist aesthetic. who gives a shit, this is about having fun.
12. Have you been involved in drama? Do you regret it?
answered here.
13. Have you ever thought about leaving rp? What caused it? What changed your mind?
answered here.
14. Do you think rp has had a positive or negative affect on your life or you as a person?
oh a huge positive effect on both for sure. there are times that it’s been bad for my mental health, but i’ve also met so many brilliant people and had so much fun doing this. half of my facebook friends list is people i’ve befriended through rp (and yes this is an invite to anyone i talk to a lot to ask for my facebook if u want it)
15. How has rp changed you personally?
i started rping in 2012 when i was 14. rp was my main hyperfixation through high school, with me spending most days in class on tumblr rather than doing work. i shaped my entire life around rp for a long time, and while that was extremely unhealthy it was also a huge formative thing for me. tumblr and roleplaying are so ingrained into who i am at this point, it’s literally changed my life. the friends i made through rp, especially in my high school years, were a life changing thing. i had one or two friends in high school, but i was heavily bullied and widely hated and rp really did save me from really fully sinking into thinking that’s what everyone thought of me
16. If you could change one thing about rp on tumblr, what would it be? Why?
i think it would mostly just be the accessibility and ease of it? i miss the days where you didn’t have to be mutuals to write, and how it was just so easy to get things going and have meaningless fun. i love my mutuals and i love plotted threads but i truly think there was something so easy about starting a blog and immediately having threads and people to write with. lately tumblr has become a place where it’s so easy to be ignored or feel like no one wants to write with you, and i really miss the days where there was always someone there who wanted to write with you and be friends.
17. Have you ever sent a message to yourself on anon? Why?
literally all the time lmao. my positivity blog is 50% me sending myself anons because people very rarely send them in. people follow positivity blogs to hear positivity about themselves but never send any in which makes it difficult. i don’t want to seem like my positivity blog is focused only on my mutuals, but i also don’t have much i can say about non-mutuals without it feeling fake so it’s a rough balance. i also send myself anonymous headcanon questions all the time bc no one else is gonna do it for me
18. Have you ever sent hate to yourself on anon? Why?
i think i did once or twice in like 2014 because i was a 16 year old who wanted attention. mostly it was just like i’d posted something that i knew would be controversial in the fandom and wanted to send myself the hate while i had a comeback in mind rather than wait for someone else to say it and feel bad lmao
19. Do you delete anon hate or post and address it? Why?
i tend to post/address it. it’s a bummer to get anon hate and i know i should delete it but i’ll see it and be like ‘oh everyone thinks this’ so i post it so that everyone can see and be like ‘yeah’ but then they’re like ‘this is bullshit’ and i have a moment of like... oh... people... dont hate me?
20. Have you ever felt pressured to write something you weren’t comfortable with?
i dont think so, not that i remember at least.
21. Have you ever followed someone because you felt like you had to, not because you wanted to?
yeah, a few times. i tend to feel that way less now but i still do it sometimes. i know there’s not really any pressure, but sometimes breaking mutuals with people you don’t click with feels really hard
22. What would make you block someone?
not a lot, really? like not for hard blocks. i’ll softblock when i do unfollow sprees or if we don’t really mesh. i only hardblock people who spam me, personals and like. actual problematic people.
23. Have you ever stolen something from someone else?
not that i’m aware of.
24. Have you ever had something stolen from you? If so, how did you handle it?
again, not that i’m aware of.
25. Are you open to duplicates? Why / why not?
this doesn’t apply to jason, but generally yeah. it depends on the muse really. im not open to duplicates on beth (multimuses aside) because of how she’s a comfort character for me and i’ve had some Bad Experience with other beths in the past, and theres a few muses i write from smaller fandoms that don’t have duplicates but that i wouldn’t want duplicates for. mostly though im chill.
26. How do you feel about vague posting?
i don’t love it, but i am guilty of it too. sometimes u gotta vague to get things out, but i don’t like vagues where that person is likely to see it? idk i just don’t like vagues but i wont stop you
27. Do you follow people even if they don’t follow you back?
sometimes, but not really. i used to do it a lot, but since people are so intense on mutuals only these days i get heaps of anxiety about accidentally liking something when i think we’re mutuals but we’re not
28. Do you read people’s rules before following or interacting?
i try to. a lot of people don’t have mobile friendly info (note that linking to pages on your blog like a /rules or /about isnt actually mobile friendly, you can’t use those links in the app) and i spend a lot of time on mobile, but i usually just wont follow back until i can read them and then i double check rules for triggers and stuff whenever plotting/sending memes/etc.
29. What is your opinion on “reblog karma” and do you practice it?
i don’t love it and i don’t practice it, but i get it. it sucks to have people reblog things from you without sending, especially headcanon/ooc stuff. i won’t ever force people though, especially with ic stuff, sometimes certain memes just don’t fit and that’s okay.
30. How have you responded to popular slang used on tumblr? Do you use it in every day life? Do you use it at all?
probably? i type the same as i talk pretty much, anything you see me type is something i’d say
31. Is there something you don’t know the meaning of but you haven’t asked anyone because you think it’s supposed to be general knowledge? Was there ever something you had to ask someone to explain?
i dont think so. generally i google things if i don’t know it.
32. Have you ever experienced discrimination?
not that i’m aware of. i guess people ignoring female ocs and loving male canons might sorta be it, but nothing personal about me no
33. How do you feel about personal blogs following your rp blog?
not a fan, tend to block them. personals just tend to get into my shit and rb stuff and it’s annoying. that said, if it’s someone i know from the rp community’s personal they can stay
34. Have you ever cried while writing a reply?
literally all the time. every angsty reply.. i cry so easily
35. Do you read other people’s threads or do you only read your own?
i read so many other peoples threads, especially people i interact with a lot. i read @unheaven and @aphostate‘s threads like the morning paper i love them
36. What’s one thing that other people seem to hate that doesn’t bother you?
i don’t know that anyone really hates things that much?? oh, but 13rw is a big one i guess. the show helped me mentally and i have muses on my multi, but i know the majority of the rpc is very much against it
37. How do you feel about tagging triggers? Do you tag them? How do you determine what is triggering content and what isn’t?
i try to, but i don’t ever really know when exactly things need to be tagged. i use the ‘ask to tag //’ tag a lot for things that im not sure about. generally speaking triggers go untagged unless it’s intense/graphic, but there’s always warnings in my rules about what i don’t tag
38. What advice would you give to someone new to rp?
don’t take it too seriously. it’s a hobby, it’s for fun. these people will not care if you use aesthetic vibes or if you’re a minimalist, they just want your writing. don’t guilt trip people into writing with you, read and respect rules. i don’t know, just treat people how you wanna be treated. rp is a small world, word travels, people know when people are the type to ignore important things.
