(well, my feelings on Laudna are documented but I do think Imogen is a great character)
Oh! I found your blog rather recently but did you write Laudna meta early on? Or did you mean when the recent Delilah stuff went down?
I do not want to go too far into it and I suspect some of it is untagged (I have to find a way to tag for myself and not for the main character tags when writing crit) but in short: Laudna just...isn't a well thought out character. At every single Q&A panel and 4SD Marisha's summary boils down to "I wanted to make someone creepy, and then I thought 'what about a sun tree corpse, and what if her patron was Delilah'" and it it kind of stops there. When you couple it with the fact that Imogen was terrified of having any conflict with her until it became the only option, it really was like...I know Delilah was a big part of her backstory but Laudna did very little with her until episode 77 of the campaign. Like, for reference, Fjord had already helped fulfill 2/3rds of what his patron wanted and then broken his pact, gone without powers for almost 4 episodes, and found a new patron by pretty much exactly that point. There was almost no engagement with what it means to be a sorcerer (which Imogen covers skillfully even with all the new stuff that was thrown at Laura) and it was very little with an anticlimatic payoff for warlock (which, see Fjord, but also I'm not a big fan of Yu and at least they covered that concept adeptly).
Like...I remember at an early panel Marisha said "I don't want to think anymore" and the thing is like...it shows. Made a nonromanceable character and then said yes when romance came up. Didn't initially plan to take more warlock levels (already undercutting the idea of Delilah having much of a hold on her). Envisioned her character would be over her trauma and then extremely wasn't.
There's PCs I've disliked far more, or had more trouble with - Laudna's never been unlikeable. But she's always been just...profoundly disappointing until I gave up on her not being disappointing and decided she'd be there and do some cool things occasionally and never contribute a lot in the way of story.
For what it's worth, and this ties back to some of my thoughts on Campaign 3 generally, I do think that the CR cast could do another campaign in D&D in Exandria and it could achieve the heights of (pick C1 or C2 depending on personal preference; mine is C2 but I respect a C1 answer). But it requires a real session zero. I think the cast counts their mini playtests as a session zero, and I get it, because with the main cast there's not that same need to set personal boundaries or lines and veils because they know each other. But there isn't that same full-group planning. They've been releasing their Candela and Daggerheart session zeroes and just put out their Moonward one as well, and they talked extensively about the Calamity and Downfall planning sessions, and it's just...again, it shows. I think C1 and C2 work because, as I said in my post just now about Marquet, the characters sort of set the world and the campaign came from them. Once you have a more set plot in a more solidified world, I think you need to have that kind of group discussion, and they didn't, and Laudna especially feels indicative of that because I think a few pointed questions and Marisha would have realized there needed to be more to work with.

Post canon homestuck crew play Dungeons and Dragons
Karkat and terezi
Co dms
Unstoppable when actually working together
Terezi will get sidetracked messing with karkat
Karkat trying to write a deep and well fleshed out campaign that’s thematically resonant vs terezi’s desire for chaos and traps and trying to “trick” her players FIGHT
Terezi believes in karma and will make the world bend to this
Karkat is trying to set up romance arcs and argues about how it adds to the theming
Dave draws them fanart of their characters. Terezi loves it while karkat argues about accuracy before admitting yes he also appreciates it
Calliope also does fanart and karkat praises her skill and accuracy unlike some people
John
Arcane trickster rogue
Forest gnome
Just a goofy little guy!
Mostly just playing to have fun, starts off with a fun but simple character who develops over time
Ends up SUPER invested and taking this so so seriously
Karkat worked a dramatic reveal into the, in his words, “bare ass bones two paragraphs that a fucking wiggler could have written backstory” and John did not see it coming and loved it
Goes head to head with terezi a lot on her various traps she designs for them. She is getting more and more absurd with it. Karkat had to talk to her about breaking the world building with things she’s introducing. He is the only rogue. Send help.
Rose
Drow warlock
Tries to justify picking drow as anything other than she just thought it was cool
Nearly went old ones for patron but settled on archfey for story reasons
Has a 10 page lore document detailing her tragic past and her toxic relationship with her patron
It became 15 pages after going back and forth with karkat for a bit and adding even more
Only her and one other person are taking the romance arcs seriously and they become karkat’s favorite players
Tries playing morally ambiguous but terezi can be annoying about that and claims it’s just “the consequences of her actions”
Her and karkat both get very very into the scenes between her and her patron, the drama! The acting! Dave is uncomfortable and karkat brushes it off, it’s not like him role playing as his sister’s abusive girlfriend is weird. It’s in fact very important to the plot Dave
Has written fanfic of the campaign
Jade
Dragonborn barbarian
Path of the beast
Don’t ask me I just know
Her GLEE when she says “I’m gonna rage :D”
ANIMAL COMPANION! She nearly went ranger just for that but knew she wouldn’t have as much fun. Found a way to get one anyway.
It was harder naming her animal companion than her character
Having fun and likes the problem solving side of things, but likes breaking things with her massive strength just as much
Terezi likes to throw stuff at her, both traps and encounters, and finds it funny if she can just wreck her way through
“See John that’s how you deal with a pressure plate trap”
Takes the rp side of things very seriously
Once argued with Karkat over if her favorite npc would do that and cursed him out
Has read roses fanfic of the campaign
Dave
Plays a teifling with grey skin and orange horns
“What are you talking about karkat this is just my dude, don’t you like him?”
Hellus Jeffus
He’s a valor bard, eventually multiclasses paladin
Starts out just trying to mess with people but like John starts getting into it, though he tries to down play it
Have hellus more of himself than he realized and it’s making him face things about himself
Eventually hellus self sacrifices to save the party in this deeply intense moment. There were tears, Dave was wrecked, they went on a whole quest to revive him. It was touching and karkat is smug
Dave might have worked through some things
Jane
Halfling cleric
Her and John are small buddies!!!
Started out life but wasn’t having a lot of fun with it so with terezi’s permission switched to war or tempest with later s few levels in fighter
Her John and Jade are the biggest front liners, John’s character ends up really close with both of them as it’s easier for the rogue to bond with the person giving them sneak attack
Jade and jane’s character have an in game arm wrestling match
Took a bit to get into the rp side of things but eventually got the hang of it
Roxy
Tabaxi, easily, it’s so obvious
After much deliberation settles on glamour bard (though wizard and rogue were tempting for the joke, she wanted to branch out)
So many horny bard jokes but very little actual follow through, karkat gets frustrated by this as she’s all this talk but isn’t pursuing any of the romance options he’s giving her
She has SECRETS! She is HIDING THINGS!! Her cheery persona is a FASADE!!!
Cue complaining to karkat about how hard it is to wait to tell the others about her secrets and him threatening violence if she tells anyone before the in game reveal
She tells jake
Lots of egging on Dave and helping him with his fucking around
The BOND between her and Dave!!! They are the duo to end all duos. Team rocket type shit. There is nothing stronger than the bond between the bards of the party. My theory is it has to do with trading bardic inspiration.
Dirk
Half elf Druid circle of spores
Wildfire seemed fun to him but wasn’t as good
Wasn’t originally planning on being a Druid but after going over all the classes he liked all the customization and decisions that go into Druid like prepared spells and such
Didn’t really think about his backstory much, just improved something. He keeps improving new additions and it’s getting more and more elaborate and complicated. He has multiple hidden and long lost siblings by this point. Still doesn’t write any of this down. If he messes a detail up he justified it with more improv.
Yes his character has spiked up red hair and sunglasses. Don’t question how the Druid got sunglasses karkat.
Really likes the tactics side of things, he’s even pitched a few things to terezi she updated and later worked in
Sometimes works on plans and strategies out of game or making a million back up characters that play off the others in interesting mechanical ways
Is considering becoming a dm some time
Jake
Needed some help making his character, he just didn’t know where to start
Eventually after much discussion settles on a teifling bladesong wizard
Wanting to get away from his usual adventurer style Roxy helped with the backstory and they came up with this evil scientist raised in a cult who’s good hearted but was never taught right and wrong
He gets very into playing him and his moral struggle but can lean a little too good for his backstory, karkat points this out and Jake swears to get better at it
Dave pitched a lot of names for them and it was eventually settled on “Bernard Gunn” even though he has a sword. Jake just likes how it sounds
“Why is he blue jake?” “…..uhhh” “why is he blue?”
Calliope
SHE LOVES THIS SO MUCH
Teifling Druid with a focus on healing
Circle of shepards
Not a troll color pallet like Dave though, honestly it might get a bit trickster
Beautiful backstory that she coordinated with one of the others to make joint. The most obvious choice is Roxy but I think it was actually jade, Jane or John.
She gets so into it you guys, like so into it
Gives at least one dramatic speech completely on the fly
The other character who takes karkat’s romance arcs seriously and his other favorite player
Has also argued with terezi about world building and consistency. This may put her above rose in karkat’s eyes
Was also allowed to read rose’s fanfiction and offered full on reviews
Also considering going into doing but for the opposite reasons to Dirk
Vriska
Fairy artillerist artificer with a dip in war magic wizard
Min maxxed to hell and back
(Technically there was a better race, but fairy has its own advantages and she couldn’t resist)
An elaborate backstory too with some secrets of her own, I’m thinking full on lost princess
Yes she is That Player, you know the one
Has nearly been kicked multiple times and now won’t leave on principle
Not the best at sticking with the party and not just doing whatever she wants, but suprisingly Dirk has been able to talk her into it with his talk of tactics and playing smart
Second most effective is John who just looks at her like “vriska you’re not making this very fun :(“
Kanaya
Fire genasi ranger
Really tried to get into it but this just isn’t her thing so eventually decided to leave the group
Karkat came up with a fun story reason for her to leave and eventually brought her character back as an Npc
Did help rose make a cosplay of her character, after which John, Calliope, and Roxy wanted to make ones too
Vriska eventually tried to “manipulate” into helping her make one for her character

A single design problem I have for each D&D 5e class
Made this a thread over on bluesky and figured might as well bring it over here. Not really big problems in most cases, but just, small things that I feel WotC should tweak in all current 5e classes.
Artificer: No clear weakness.
A single class that can make great a great support character, DPS character, tank, single target attacker, stealth character, etc
Obviously needs to be built spesifically for each of these, but every other class has at least one thing they can't do.
Barbarian: No force resistance
Slightly cheating because it's not inherently a problem with Barbarian, but recently more monsters have been using Force damage instead of B/P/S, and barbarians should absolutely gain resistance to it while raging at higher levels.
Bard: Full-casting
Bards are designed to be a jack of all trades, it's right there at 2nd level, but they seem to have missed the 'master of none' bit.
Full spellcasting up to 9th level, a pretty solid spell list, and spells they don't have they can take with Magical Secrets anyway, even 9th level ones.
Cleric: Turn Undead
A holdover from older editions, turn undead in my opinion just doesn't make for a good universal option on clerics.
I'd much prefer something like spirit guardians or spiritual weapon be reworked into their universal channel divinity.
Druid: Universal Wildshape
Probably controversial, but I have similar problems with wildshape that I do turn undead, it's good, but a weird universal option.
If I'm a druid getting my powers from stones, plants, or the stars, why can I also turn into a ferret? There should be a few options to pick from instead.
Fighter: Action Surge at Level 2
Action surge is such a good feature, usually it's just some extra attacks, but the fact you have the chioce is great....
That said, I think it coming online so early incentivises unintentionally incentivises multiclassing, casters dipping for 2 spells a turn mostly. They've somewhat fixed it by limiting what actions you can use it for in OneD&D, but I personally just feel it should be later level rather than limiting it.
Monk: Ki Dependancy
This doesnt' need explaining, everything for monks costs ki and it really doesn't need to, they should get resource free disengage and dash, or have ki recover faster.
I had an idea for a ki recharge of 1 min, but less points overall, so you have all points for every fight
Paladin: Oaths at 3rd level
You get your power as a paladin from a sacred oath you swear, so why do you only choose that oath at 3rd level?
That's like a warlock only deciding their patron at 3rd, or a cleric only deciding their god at 3rd (Yes 1D&D does this and I hate it).
Ranger: Spells Known
Why do rangers, the class that's meant to be about being the best prepared for the wilderness and natural areas not have prepared spells?
It just seems so obvious to me, and I've got no idea why it's not done like that already?!
Rogue: Is Pretty Good
If anything I'd say that I'm not a fan of skill floors like reliable talent, and expertise not letting you use it on other tools is a bit strange, maybe the large subclass level gap?
Yeah overall I'm a fan of rogues though, they're just solidly made.
Sorcerer: Spells Known
They tried to fix this in Tasha's with subclass spell lists, and I think that's good idea generally, but letting them swap them for (admittedly limited) options from 3 different spell lists is also weird
Just give them subclass spells they can't swap, or maybe can swap fron one list and you're good.
Warlock: EB is a Cantrip
Eldritch Blast is a good spell. Too good to be honest with multiclassing at least, it's one of the reasons PalLock is such a good combo.
EB should scale with Warlock level so be a feature not a cantrip, or cantrip scaling with warlock level like it was in that One D&D UA that they then reverted.
Wizard: Subclass Theming
Tying wizard subclasses to schools was a bad idea, and what we've gotten outside the PHB seems to be an attempt to go back on that.
It also means they don't have room to explore all of each school, I'd love a teleport or summon focused wizard but school of conjuration smashes them together weirdly

This is the shit i wrote about kremy last night. Dislaimer this is very self indulgent and i do mention myself here but yeah. This is for the two people that wanted to read it mwah! Another disclaimer this is just a 4am ramble and i doubt its anything more than a summary of a bunch of episodes. Obviously, spoilers for ouaw ahead, especially the last few eps.
Hello yes it is me the leader of Kremy nation welcome to the party the room is empty there is no party just me and my thoughts about one Kremy Lecroux.
I think I have to point out at the beginning that being suicidal in Avantris, in the world of D&D in general, is completely different to being suicidal here, in our reality. We have religion, we have beliefs, sure. But no matter how much we believe in those things, there’s no concrete proof of the existence of the afterlife. Of any kind of an afterlife. We don’t know what comes next. Now, in D&D, afterlife is tangible. It’s a very real thing that exists. I’m not an expert, I don’t know most things about D&D but from my humble understanding, after a person dies, their souls go on a journey to an afterlife. One of a few possibilities. To my knowledge, your afterlife depends on what you did as a living being, similarly to how we view heaven and hell etc. So although it was a bit shocking to me that Kremy pointed out just how spiritual he is in episode 45, it makes total sense.
Here’s another part where I wish I knew more about D&D. Kremy is a warlock, warlocks have patrons. Patrons provide those whom they teach with magical abilities, and also a form of protection. I don’t think it’s a general rule that patrons have something to do with the afterlife, but Kremy’s patron, Baron Samedi, does. And he’s a proper figure in voodoo religion here on our planet. Referencing Kremy in episode 45, the Baron wants to ensure a good afterlife for his warlocks. A “fun” afterlife, a “party of skeletons”. Kremy talks fondly of him, why wouldn’t he, and at some points he even repeats the phrase “the Baron provides” when he’s particularly blessed with magic (fanfic flashbacks). In the episode 45 speech, Kremy at some point says:
“When I die, I want to have a good time too.”
“Too” as in… he wants to have as much fun as the Baron and those who are already partying in the afterlife or as much fun as he’s having while being alive. I will come back to this. So Kremy being spiritual is not weird, the afterlife is real, magic is real, when Kremy dies, and fulfills certain conditions, he will be provided with a cool afterlife. Great. Wait, what was that about conditions?
This is where I’ll jump into introducing another character. Remy Garou. Bastard man who I hope suffers a painful death but he won’t because he’s canonically alive for at least 15 years after the events of Once Upon a Witchlight. Remy Garou is on the top of the list of top ten evil exes. He’s the one that introduced Kremy to magic, to the Baron. In fact, we got a quite detailed description of Kremy meeting Remy for the first time (yes I’m aware they sound like weird twins but they’re really not they’re not even the same species).
And wow. That first meeting was gay as shit. I don’t even want to talk about it, I can only mention that Kremy has a type when it comes to men. Whatever toxic romance these two had doesn’t matter (ALTHOUGH I WISH I KNEW MORE ABOUT IT), the important part now is that Remy is not a cool guy and he will murder Kremy and his friends if they don’t pay the money they owe him. Except. He won’t kill them. This is the condition that I previously mentioned. In the episode 45 speech Kremy said that he will only be granted his dream afterlife if he’s on good terms with all the other warlocks the Baron is the patron of. Remy has power over Kremy in this situation of debt, instead of being murdered, sent away to the realms above or beyond, Kremy and the Krew will be turned into uh… weird swamp creatures and they will forever live in constant pain. Not cool.
AND IN A WEIRD TURN OF EVENTS THAT INCLUDE A MUSHROOM TRIP.
Kremy lost his memory of Remy. He exchanged the memory of their first meeting for a vision, he didn’t know the memory would be lost. Remy’s existence was entirely erased from the minds of Kremy, and the entire Krew. They still remember the debt, just not the consequences. Kremy now doesn’t know that if he fails to pay the debt, he will fail to fulfill the conditions of getting into his dream afterlife. And that’s when the suicidal thoughts really kicked in.
No that wasn’t the first time I clocked Kremy as suicidal or depressed. The first time I noticed something was clearly wrong was when they stood outside of Bavlorna’s hut, when they were so high up, they could only see a sea of clouds spreading out beside them. And in that moment Kremy mentioned that when he stands in high places, he gets this weird desire to jump, just an intrusive thought. He said he would never do it, but he feels like he wants to. He named this “the call of the void”. Naturally I thought “yeah of course I think of that when I’m high above ground” but both Frost and Gricko said that no, they never think of that. And that it’s a weird thing to think. Oh okay. And they never spoke of it again. From that point on I was kind of on a lookout for more signs of the void calling. I hear it everyday, apparently Kremy does too. I have this gaydar thing for depressed people apparently.
And when Kremy forgot about the consequences of his debt, when he forgot that his afterlife would be taken away, the void started screaming. It was almost instant, the way he started saying that hey, he might as well just drown, he might as well just get thrown off the shelf, he might as well get eaten by a beaver. Why not, just let this be over. It got so intense to the point that he got called out on it, but hey, it’s Once Upon a Witchlight and serious moments don’t last long in less significant situations. Without the fear of not being able to go to the Baron’s skeleton party, Kremy just wants to die.
This answers the question previously stated. When Kremy dies, he wants to have a good time too. Because he’s not having a good time being alive.
I fear people will either say “Nooooo that’s not true Kremy loves Gideon! Why would he want to die! He doesn’t want to die, he has so much to live for! Like Gideon!” or “Yeah Kremy sucks he doesn’t love his friends he’s a shitty guy he doesn’t truly love anything I don’t like Kremy”. (I don’t actually think that I’m just so goddamn paranoid it’s embarrassing.) That’s not how it works. You can love someone and something and still want to be dead. I don’t think he’s just sad, obviously it goes deeper. It’s not basic trauma, this goes far beyond Kremy’s want to be a different person, to be cooler, more dapper, more elegant, richer. Yes, Kremy is quite paranoid and I doubt he fully believes in who he created himself to be (obviously obviously obviously) but he does, from a technical point of view, have things and people to live for. But that’s not how it works.
In my love for Kremy, in a way of begging for my own happiness, I hope he will have a good time being alive. I hope I will too. I love tragedy in fiction, Kremy’s writing is brilliant and I should be thanking Richie every second of my pathetic life for creating Kremy. But I can’t detach myself from Kremy emotionally, I want him to be happy.
but i also want him to suffer just a bit more so i can squeeze every single fact about his life and mind out of him eeheheheheheheheheheeh okay its 4am goodnight

Concept: D&D homebrew oneshot based off Animorphs where you each play as one of the main characters of the Animorphs series.
The morphing system would be a modified Wild Shape mechanic, altered to two ends: first, to better fit the book's lore, and second, to make class factor into it more so each character is more unique. Probably each character would be able to use some of their class actions (just for an example, Action Surge for fighters or Rage for barbarians) while in morph, and morphing would restore hit points to 100%.
There would be a skill check associated with morphing--it'd be a Wisdom-based skill that you could gain proficiency in. Roll at advantage when using a familiar morph or becoming another human, disadvantage for things you're scared of or morphing while badly injured. Do a morphing check whenever you're in a new morph for the first time to see if you can get control of it; the actual number to beat is up to the GM based on what the animal is.
Also there would have to be some sort of mechanic to prevent TPKs--the main crew has a LOT of plot armor in the books because they can't die (until the end), so there'd need to be something to keep the PCs alive. Maybe if you "die" you don't actually perish, but instead something very bad happens to the party (you get infested, maybe?)
Infestation would be another new mechanic, though a pretty simple one; if a PC gets infested, the GM just starts controlling that character as the yeerk. The player can try to interrupt what the yeerk's doing, but has to roll a nat 20 with disadvantage (no bonuses from skill proficiencies)--it's supposed to be nearly impossible in the books so that's fairly lore-consistent.
In terms of the actual characters you can play:
Jake: Fighter, probably Battle Master subclass as that's more strategically focused. Not much else to say to be honest--I think he'd be proficient in persuasion, since he's supposed to be a good leader.
Marco: Rogue, maybe? Frankly his strengths don't match up with a specific class--maybe multiclass rogue/bard or fighter/bard because I know for a FACT he can and does cast vicious mockery.
Rachel: Barbarian for SURE, probably the Berserker subclass though I find the idea of her being a Wildheart pretty funny and thematically accurate.
Cassie: Probably a Druid or Beast Master ranger--I'm not sure where I stand on allowing caster classes since that doesn't exist in the real world but neither does morphing. Which one she is just depends on that.
Tobias: Who even KNOWS with this guy. Since he's stuck in morph it matters less, but I'd actually go with warlock--his patron is the Ellimist, since he's the one who seems to be able to argue with the Ellimist the most. It's either that or sorcerer, but he doesn't really gain any powers from his andalite bloodline so that seems less accurate.
Ax: Fighter, but it'd be different because he is an andalite. Just off the top of my head I'd make him be able to deal slashing damage on an unarmed attack (maybe just make his unarmed attack count as a sword attack) and increase his movement speed.
A group could also choose to discard these characters and play as a bunch of original characters if they so chose.
Anyways I'm probably the only person in the world that cares enough about both Animorphs and D&D to create this but oh well have fun.

Hello it is I, the simp (platonically) for your fishy warlock man in the reblogs. I just wanted to say I love him. The art? Gorgeous. The character design? Stunning. Me? Asking for his hand in marriage. Me again? Also asking to pet the dragon/serpent please. I want his gender and also to hold his hand.
Um so I don't know if you have spoken about him on your blog or if you want to but if you have any information to share I would like to listen :]
OKAY anyway I hope you have a wonderful day and I look forward to hopefully more fishy boy content but also just any of your art!!
HI IM GLAD YOU LIKE HIM!! He’s from a pirate dnd campaign I play with friends :D
Oh boy time to talk about Len lore. SO Len, or Laurelen, is a fathomless warlock with amnesia who knows absolutely nothing about his past life except that he’s pretty sure the the fishy parts and scales weren’t always there. He kinda washed up on a beach and was found by an old lady who taught him how to speak common, walk around on land and how trying to bite people is considered rude. And then the party kinda kidnapped him because pirates and shenanigans happened.
Currently in the campaign he’s learned that he is in fact a warlock, and while he doesn’t know the details of his pact, knows that he’s basically merged with an ancient sea monster (also called Laurelen hmmmm) and isn’t supposed to be mucking about on land in his current incomplete form. His “patron” (said ancient sea monster) is kinda stuck as a spectral sea serpent thing that only he can see and likes to spout super helpful wisdom like “jump in the water” and “eat raw seaweed”. He is a bastard and can sometimes possess Len's body much to the concern of the party. He has been dubbed Ghost and/or the Ghost Noodle and we hate him. Len is very much against becoming a whole ass sea monster and probably losing what little piece of his mind he still had left, so is ignoring everything Ghost says and instead is focusing on trying to recover his memories and finding a way to separate his and Ghosts souls that are kinda intertwined.
When the campaign started he was a very wholesome lad with no idea what was going on but, after some time at sea with the rest of our problematic party and a spectral noodle that scream in his ear, he's learned to be more guarded with his feelings and even learned some swear words! Man is actually pretty good in a fight if you disregard his dumbass demeanour. Though he is currently struggling a bit with the morality of killing people and generally being a pirate now but he’s fiiiine. He’s very self conscious about his appearance and knows all the scales and teeth scare people so he tends to hide them with bandages and baggy clothes. (His green eye constantly looks like a swirling kaleidoscope so he tries to cover it usually)
Fun facts about Len include:
Despite having gills and being a literal fish man he is scared of the ocean/swimming and due to fun patron curse shenanigans seems to pass out in a barrel full of salt water or more. (Yes we did test how much salt water it took we were really bored).
Being able to eat a whole seagull (he was possessed at the time it doesn’t count).
Having way too many teeth.
Assuming most animals after a form of cat.
AND FINALLY is wanted by the navy for having generally bad vibes and also being a pirate I guess.
ALSO DO NOT PET THE SERPENT that is Ghost and he deserves nothing. All he does is scream and be a little shit. Also I did not convey this well in my most recent art but he is way more horrifying in the campaign and also is just full of teeth. Moray eel combined with a sea snake but worse. And no one but Len can see him! :D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please enjoy some of the many doodles I’ve accumulated of this man over the campaign (the “human” version was him using disguise self and trying to guess what he’d look like without scales)

I have been working on this FOR AGES!!
This is my Drow Tav and D&D character, Istdrin.
He is a noble drow turned exile. He was once considered the cat that caught the the all the mice, back in his days in Menzoberranzen. His job was hunting and killing renegade Drow, until he became a renegade Drow himself.
He is a sorcerer who has recently had his powers muted, because he decided to commune with a warlock patron, vying for more power, who he then pissed off. His patron then took his life, turning him into an undead and silenced his magic. The patron has essentially bound him into slavery to earn his powers back.
Another fun fact, he is of the silver draconic bloodline, but because these are good aligned dragons, he finds his scales shameful. He uses magic to hide them.

I like hearing about others campaigns.
NO SUCH THING AS A DUMB QUESTION I WOULD LOVE TO INFO DUMP ABOUT MY CURRENT CAMPAIGN (i am a player in it not the DM but i yap so fucking much with my DM) ALSO GET READY BECAUSE IM GONNA WORD VOMIT SO MUCH
we're currently playing a loose version of the rime of the frost maiden campaign and our party's currently made up of four players; a dwarf barbarian (harrick), an elf warlock (cirice), a half-orc cleric (azazel), and a half-elf bard (wyre, who's also my character)
i cannot, for the life of me, write down everything that's happened so far because despite only being a couple sessions in there's been SO much but i can explain the characters and their backstories loosely. (and going to leave it under this cut so it doesn't end up overtaking a huge part of the dashboard)
so harrick's a dwarf that was a previous resident of icewind dale (a part of the map that's currently being held in an eternal twilight by it's resident goddess, auril), that got frozen for a couple hundred years before our party stumbled across him. a little after we find him, we run into his granddaughter who tells him his wife had passed away trying to fight auril, which ends up being a huge driving force behind his character because this pissy ass dwarf is just so full of love for his wife.
now all the others grew up OUTSIDE icewind dale and made their way in, so their backstories don't tie in quite so heavily with the residents of the area.
cirice surprisingly grew up with both parents, but a largely shitty mom. their dad was the primary breadwinner of their house and their mom was focused solely on her own lifestyle and how her family was just not what she wanted, so cirice was left to raise their younger sister on their own. their father ended up dying young, and their mother left for it, so they made a contract with their patron (fierna) at a very young age to get help to care for their sister. ultimately, it didn't do much, because she ended up resenting them for it and leaving cirice to travel alone for quite a while before coming across wyre.
azazel was an orphan from the get-go, dropped on the steps of a monastery and left to be raised by followers of lathander. he's a big guy with a heart of gold, but grew up knowing a lot of grief, largely due to the fact that he was watching sick come for help and die to illnesses that they couldn't cure (there's also another reason, but idk if sara wants me to share that since they haven't hammered it all out with our DM yet). he ended up traveling with cirice and wyre pre-campaign because they promised to help him get money in exchange for healing, so he'd have money to send back home to pay for his younger sister's medicine.
and then there's wyre. he was adopted by the master of a thieves guild when he was still young, and ended up learning how to play instruments as a means of distraction. by the time he realized he wanted to be a bard, his dad did not approve of it, so they ended up getting into a fight that led to some severe scarring on wyre's part, and he's been running from his dad and guild ever since. at the time of the campaign, it's been about a decade since he last saw any of them, and he's largely traveling with the party because there's safety in numbers. ultimately, he's got no reason to be in icewind dale outside of cirice and azazel having traveled there; he's just tagging along.

So I completed Curse of Strahd over a year and a half ago. I was just thinking about how my Tav, a white dragonborn named Iudex, can actually be my old D&D character Clatter the Kenku. Clatter was always impulsive and it’d make sense if they died during an adventure because they got cocky. So now it’s canon that Iudex was a Kenku back in their Barovia days. They died around a couple years after killing Strahd because of their own idiocy, got revived through the Reincarnate spell, and a few months later found themselves kidnapped by mindflayers.
Imagine Iudex’s reaction, whose adventuring career peaked at slaying Count Strahd Von Zarovich himself, learned that Astarion is a vampire spawn- how Astarion was mistreated and abused, and how he doesn’t believe anyone could kill Cazador.
Now they gotta face Cazador and Iudex is just completely trying not to name drop Strahd or their old name and party. Like “oh look at this loser. He’s got nothing on that Dread Lord I killed lol”
Anyway, post-Cazador and maybe post-game discussions with the party where Iudex off-handedly comments “If I had a gold for every time I killed a (tyrannical) Vampire Lord and an evil ‘god’ within the same week, I’d have two gold” and Strahd’s name is casually dropped somewhere there. Cue the party absolutely losing their shit. They don’t believe Iudex of course, and Iudex nonchalantly calls up this lich (her Barovia party’s wizard) who has taken up residence in Castle Ravenloft.
Other fun facts about my Tav:
Iudex’s patron is Neferon himself lol- this was before I tweaked their backstory to include the reincarnation bit. But now it’s just funny.
Clatter nearly died several times during her time in Barovia because she had zero brain to mouth filter. They learned from this of course, and is now very careful as Iudex though will still blow up if someone insults them.
Iudex fucked around somewhere and swapped their class from Druid to Warlock because “New body, new me” and made a whole backstory they tell everyone about never being able to wield magic so they made a deal with a powerful devil when in reality they’re just blackmailing Neferon somewhat.

hello hello fellow lovely and talented artist that I happened to be mutuals with, can I learn more about your ocs? /nf they look so skrunkly and precious snndndndndndnrkelsofk /pos
HI HELLO!!! first off let me say that you’re so sweet wtf?? thank youuu gah i love my sillies and im honestly honored people want to hear abt them c:
second, sorry this took so long to answer hehe i wanted to post ref sheets for my characters and i realized i. dont have them. SO i had to doodle em up hehe
OKAYYYY first on the docket is wynn!
Tumblr media
she’s my cleric in @locke-n-k3y’s campaign and she is pathetic <3. she has never stepped on a crunchy leaf and she just wants to Go Home. i can’t say much more cause of plot spoilers (glares at my other moots in the campaign /lh) but mayhap i will flood ur dms!
-
next is my character from my first ever campaign and her armpiece boyfriend! hehe
Tumblr media
so fun fact they both hold titles: queen and bishop respectively, because the campaign took place in a demon’s chess game!! it was super fun hehe and max was originally an npc from leonora’s backstory BUT my dm brought him into the campaign proper and then i stole his character sheet so he’s MINE NOW.
leonora is actually the niece of the BBEG and her father was the patron of our party’s warlock! so some fun family dynamics there. max is rumored to be an insane necrophile because leonora is legally dead! fun!! and there’s a whole lot of backstory stuff i bombarded @thedndgoblinwholivesinyourwalls with hehe so they’re linked here, here, and here.
-
next are some characters i love dearly but haven’t posted about much! starting with lorelei
Tumblr media
…whose character playlist is 80% carrie underwood. if that gives you any indication of her vibes hehe. rambunctious child to a pious, uptight family, lorelei is off to discover herself and prove herself out of SPITE!! she’s a college of chance bard to be specific and she’s kind of just here for a good time not for a long time. also i accidentally made it canon that she has in fact fucked a dragon.
-
and finishing off the roster of characters i’ve finished refs for: casimir (and his daughter veda!!)
Tumblr media
so casimir is a necromancer whose wife left him after he was Consumed By The Horrors!! but his daughter stuck around and accidentally saw some stuff she wasn’t supposed to see, so his mentor had her killed as a way to teach casimir his place so to speak. he intended to give up his studies but then her ghost started appearing to him, and now it’s almost like she never left! also he is very much drowned cat in the dumpster energy as well. i love him dearly.
-
i have some more characters but i didn’t get a chance to draw refs for them but i’ll sum them up briefly!!
j. “backfire” hicks is a pact of the trigger warlock who is quite literally just jimmy from the young riders but with magic guns instead of real ones lol. slightly altered backstory but not by much
and i have another warlock named derowyn, whose info is here! loosely based on the woodsman from over the garden wall, but a satyr whose brothers soul is in the lantern and if she tries to back out of the deal THEY becomes a tree hehe
-
AAAH THAT WAS SO LONG SORRYYYYYY but i love getting able to talk about my sillies :D thank you for letting me infodump hehe

MADI MADI MADI whos ur fav mighty nein characters/rank them :0!!
*Cracks knuckles* Okay so to preface this, I love all of the Mighty Nein. Absolutely love all of them, it is my comfort D&D Campaign along with other D&D campaigns like Misfits & Magic or Escape from the Bloodkeep like it is the first D&D campaign I finished and it makes me so emotional to think about them. I almost have all their origin comics (I need Caduceus' to arrive in the mail (HE'S ON HIS WAY I GOT THE EMIAL NOW) and then I'm set unless we get an Essek one.)
But like in Terms of my favorites? I am a Strong Caleb Widogast, Essek Thelyss, Jester Lavorre, and Caduceus Clay enjoyer.
My love for Caleb started because he had a cat man. I love cats, and so of course I was immediately intrigued AND THEN WE GET TO HIS ANGST AND OOOOO- it's also the way his character alignment changes throughout the campaign and how he grows and heals and that concept is what I really love from the Mighty Nein. The way they all grow and become better as the story goes on, especially after Molly like :(
That being said Essek I love because this man committed War Crimes but then is revealed to have no friends and that his favorite food is soup LIKE he's such a good character to show what effect the mighty nein has on people that come into their mists because he was supposed to be an evil NPC, his alignment was/is evil, but the mighty nein (especially Jester) took one look at him and went "you're our friend now!" Like the nein love Essek and are really showing that the power of friendship can in fact be good for you!! Plus his and Caleb's Dynamic is so fun please I love him.
Jester is because she's quite literally me. If I had to pick two people that I probably am out of the Mighty Nein due to just what people have said and my own analysis, Her and Caleb are me coded. She's an Artist! (which I do have Critical role art on here you would just have to find it on here somewhere I haven't drawn the nein in a hot minute-), she's silly, she loves her friends, she's lonely, she's literally me! PLUS THE FACT SHE DOESN'T LIKE HEALING AS A CLERIC IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER- but when she does heal she is godly at it!! PLUS HER AND ARTY'S WHOLE DEAL, THE WHOLE BELIEVING IN HIM ENOUGH AND HELPING HIM GAIN ENOUGH SUPPORTERS TO BE ELEVATED INTO A FALSE GODHOOD STATUS LIKE IT'S SOOOOOOO- I know it's because Laura wanted to play a Warlock and Travis yoinked that so she didn't BUT OH IT WAS SO FUN TO SEE THAT UNFOLD-
and then Caduceus is because I love Clerics so much. I love playing Clerics, I love watching people play Clerics, just Clerics are high tier for me. (Then again I just love spell casters in general,,, as you can see from this list) but there is something about this Firbolg who just loves his family and was raised in a graveyard and has dead people tea on hand and is just the silliest. He may not be smart but he is wise and his and Fjord's bond while Fjord was trying to find a new patron and Caduceus was like "I think Melora will like you :3" LIKE god their friendship is so fun. PLUS HE'S CANONICALLY AROACE AND LIKE YOU LOVE TO SEE IT!! just god I love the Mighty Nein so much they are everything to me!!

Please can we hear about your DND characters? 👀
I have a few PCs and a few more NPCs, but I'm just gonna go with my PCs because I've had them for longer fjkdlafjkds
Anyway:
Vella - Dragonborn Rogue, and my first D&D character. She was born to a large clan of honourable Dragonborn warriors, but an incident causes her to exile herself from the clan and wander around the land as a mercenary. She doesn't like talking about her clan and gets wary whenever she sees a blue Dragonborn in case they're from her clan. Don't ask about her scarf, either. Sometime on her travels, she picks up:
Wharf - A Kenku. He's kind of a non-combatant due to the fact that he's a child, but he comes with Vella as a packaged pair. He was an orphan living on the streets when Vella first found him on a foggy day by the docks. Because of the way Kenkus are, and because Wharf is a child, Vella doesn't actually know where he came from or how he got there. The only notable noises he seemed to make when she first met him were the sounds of bells and whistles and the laughter of a little girl. Also he's named "Wharf" because that's where Vella found him. His hat also has bells because he likes bells. (He also may or may not be a Wild Magic Sorcerer)
btw, both of them look like this (it's an old drawing but it's still relevant):
Tumblr media
(Random fact: Wharf's hat is a beret with bells and feathers, but he constantly wears it backwards. It was given to him as a gift)
Woodrow - full name Woodrow of the Redwood clan, he's an Otterfolk Paladin and heir to his clan. The Redwoods are a long-standing clan of Otterfolk, but circumstances lead them to form an alliance with the Willow clan. Part of the alliance involves a marriage between the heirs of the clan, hence he's betrothed to marry. He takes his role and responsibilities seriously and is well-respected amongst Otterfolk, but outside of that no one takes him seriously because he's Otterfolk. People just can't get over the fact that he's a little guy and is cute. Anyway his fiancé is:
Spruce - full name Spruce of the Willow clan, he's an Otterfolk Arcane Trickster. Unlike Woodrow, he's a bit of a scoundrel and a bit of an outlier, despite being the heir of his clan. The clan decided that he'd be betrothed to the heir of the Redwood clan and hopefully that would set him straight. He uses the fact that he's a little guy and is cute to his advantage against all the non-Otterfolk.
Anyway, Woodrow and Spruce greatly dislike each other and the fact that they have to marry each other. Ironically, they bicker like a married couple all the time. They just have to learn to respect each other, tbh (it's a Betrothed to Enemies to Acquaintances to Married to Friends to Oh No I Have A Crush On My Husband?? To Lovers arc)
Technically I have a fifth character (I.E. the Warlock whose Patron is just a person from our world), but I haven't really come up with anything about them since. But they're still tucked in my mind because I think the concept is hilarious

Hello Arlen! A while ago I thought I saw your tags saying that you have OCs, but I can't find the tags so if I'm wrong that's my bad 😅
Do you have OCs and any fun facts you want to share about them?
I do have OCs but I don’t think I’ve talked about them here 😅 I’m not gonna ramble toooo much but um aside from OCs from my old novella (Qehnaylaht/Nahdeyna/Gaealena/etc), current rp OCs (I love Paulie and Catrina Chester so damn much you guys but I would not stop rambling, as well as Aliana María Alliyma from another rp), a bunch of characters I never got to play, and Clara & Ella (my OCs for Firefly fanfic and now their own original sci-fi world), there’s these three?
Wendell — an NPC I made for D&D that now lives rent free in my head. He’s a warlock who has no clue what his actual patron is, because sometimes things get crazy with trickster deities. He uses a custom wheelchair that has a few little fae spells on it (mostly just to make it so no one else dares to touch it or try to move him) and lives inside a mimic.
Morgan — created her for a pirates roleplay but that ended (I don’t know why but I probably messed up somehow since the other writer blocked me?). Scrappy smart Caribbean girl who sometimes passes as a man and is apprenticed to a doctor.
Char — short for Charcoal (their birth name is Charlotte but no one gets to call them that), Char is a mostly home bound artist who may or may not be from the fae realm. She started as a sort of vent OC I could give some of my problems but ended up in a really fascinating space. Whenever I write her, I make it very unclear whether or not she is actually magical or not. If she is, she is part-djinn and who knows what else and descendent of men and women who traded themselves or were stolen away by the fae—if she isn’t, she grew up in a very limiting environment and developed pretty extreme maladaptive tendencies.
I also have OCs for a lot of universes I would like to roleplay in buttttt no one ever dies cause the fandoms more or less don’t exist (Broken Earth, Invisible Library, etc). Oh, and the characters in the musical im writing! They’re very fun but I’ve typed enough and don’t want to bore you too much 😅
What about you? 👁️ have anyone you wanna talk about today?

if you get this, answer with three random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs! anon or not, doesn’t matter, let’s get to know the person behind the blog <3 (absolutely no pressure)
hello! random facts number 2: electric boogaloo!!
i have 661 hours and 35 minutes logged in minecraft as of this moment, and that is not including pocket edition, time played on the vanilla launcher, or any of the instances i deleted (so, its missing at least 150 hours, almost certainly more). i perhaps play too much minecraft but whatever
there are 21 notebooks sitting on my desk (that i can see) at this moment in time.
(this will make no sense to you unless you know d&d i am sorry) i have a d&d character who's a warlock named mara that accidentally became her own patron because she counterspelled a (semi-god? similar power level to a god. archangel? archdevil? something)'s attempt to cast power word kill (it kills you. instantly) on her. she also accidentally skipped an entire chapter of the campaign by using dimension door but that's not important right now. she has a wisdom of 5 and a charisma of 20 and i love her.
because the last one doesn't make any sense if you don't know d&d, here's a bonus one. my siblings were both born in a different generation from me

 toa annifoursary (hehe) munday.
Celebrating TOA and the people who contribute to make our group what it is.
Repost, don't reblog. Only fill in what you feel comfortable sharing!
Happy anniversary, TOA! Here's to many more years spent together.
---
Name: rai
Pronouns: anything
Birthday (no year): may 17
Where are you from? What is your time zone? us east coast, so est
Roleplay experience: .................. i have to count every time. i think around 18 years now?
Got any pets? nope
Favorite time of year: autumn! november especially
Some interests and things you like: rping is 75% of my life so it embodies most of my free time. otherwise, running and playing ttrpgs, playing games, reading
Some funfacts & trivia about you: i can shake my eyeballs
What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? genshin impact, pokemon, i might sign myself away to hsr tomorrow. i'll give just about any good old turn-based jrpg a try when it comes out
Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: flying & raichu ---
How did you get into Fire Emblem? had to have been right before graduation from undergrad, i walked into gamestop and saw fire emblem: fates had just released. decided to give it a shot on a whim. my best friend at the time had played awakening, so i decided to get into the series. binged the rest of it just about straight through from there, starting with fe6
What Fire Emblem games have you played? all except ( ree forgets this every time ) the jugdral games HAHA also still halfway through new mystery
First Fire Emblem game: fe fates: birthright
Favorite Fire Emblem game: fe6: binding blade
Any Fire Emblem crushes? probably endless ksjnglskg. nishiki is maybe the closest i think. oh and lucina.
If you’ve played the following games, who was your first S support? - Awakening: lucina. i don't think i ever s-supported anyone elSE - Fates: nishiki - Three Houses: uhhhhh was it felix? or was it dimitri idr. i think it was felix - Engage: gregory
Favorite Fire Emblem class: NOMAAAAAAAAD
If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class? i've been told mage > dark knight which seems to check out with the fact that my boss insists that my d&d class would be warlock with eldritch being as my patron
If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? probably black eagles tbh
If you were an Engage character, which Emblem would you Engage with? i'm not sure what qualifier this is based on ksjlskgml i'd like to believe leif? but probably closer to veronica or soren ---
How did you find TOA? well.
Tumblr media
Current TOA muses: caeldori, nel, rosado
Who was your first TOA muse? If you don’t have them anymore, could you see yourself picking them up again? felix. for a while after i dropped him i thought i had run the gambit with him in terms of narrative i wanted to explore and figured he was going on the top shelf. but the last half year or so he's been wanting to come back...
Have you had any other TOA muses? YIKES, have i. felix, sety, idunn, volug, leif, yuri, kurthnaga, ephraim, lucius, etzel
Do you think you have a type of character you gravitate towards? most common ones are probably the Sad Sack Sages ( hi etzel, sety ), fiery boys with hearts of gold ( felix, leif ), and dark paladins ( nel, felix ). i also really like chaotic neutral trickster types, but aren't usually confident enough in my ability to write for them haha
What do you believe you enjoy writing the most? action scenes for sure. any scene where there's external momentum driving things forward and giving a sense of momentum and urgency. also just anything that lets me worldbuild or exploring facets of worldbuilding hehe
Favorite TOA-related memory: that's a hard one. probably the final week of arcadia, our first lore event. all the teams ended up in boss battles, but they weren't the guaranteed staple of lore event endings like they are now. it just kind of happened because that's where the stories ended up. the collaborative scene-building and sense of camaraderie in the fights against gricenchos and gofannon are still unmatched for me to this day. they felt like dynamic scenes right out of a lord of the rings movie
How do you pronounce TOA? as the letters haha tee-oh-ay
Got any delusions that didn’t see the light of day in TOA that you’d like to share? i have constant delusions. i've been saying since ferp that i want to play eltshan someday and never have LOL. bringing lester into toa. bringing zeiss to toa. i have a url saved for lyre. it kind of feels wrong not having a single muse from either jugdral or tellius HAHA
