im insane.
anyways; with the DSM-V as my WMD, im abt to cook up the most devious fanfiction of coriolanus snow developing a healthy response to his own personality disorder <3 i need to rewrite fiction to combat the irreversibility of reality.
coriolanus serves his purpose as a reflection of a tortured and corrupt society. but still… at least with fiction i can satisfy my melting brain with a happy ending.

You know Price's sass gets him into trouble in the circles he walks. Armed forces are brimming with toxic masculinity, homophobia, misogyny. The works.
Some cunt: "Don't hit on me, ya bendah."
Nik, sighing as he overhears from his spot at the bar, knocks back the last of his drink and sheds his jacket.
Price, puffs the last of his cigar and flicks it away: "Y'olrigh', mate. 'm only into masculine men. Yer safe."
Cue the punch up as insecure toxic masculinity attempts to assert itself in the presence of actual masculinity. It fails.

Low-key wish you could just draw wholesome stuff between these two characters but you want to draw the sixteen year old feeling up the almost naked fourteen year old but who cares I know you don’t keep doing what you’re doing who cares anymore.
anon with all due respect, fuck off

anyways, am-i-the-asshole-official is uncritically platforming transmisogyny. like, real obvious transmisogyny.
like that post has everything. pedojacketing. saying she's gross/creepy. she's "creepy" for basically confessing (joining OPs polycule). her not getting work and her coworkers hating her some how reflecting bad on her, and not them and how transmisogynistic society is. mentioning how tall and broad and scary she looks. calling her creepy for wearing a maid outfit at home while cleaning. and then just peppering in a half-assed vague "oh she sexually abused my partner he says so" while also vaguely saying she "gives off creepy vibes". to justify making her homeless btw
and the people in the notes are LAPPING it up! nta is currently winning. and the blog owner sees no problem platforming this. in the context of the everything happening on this website rn, disgusting honestly

When men like problematic violent video games and media it's easily "life doesn't equal fiction", but when women like toxic romance it's "poor women are being brainwashed into liking abusive relationships we shouldn't glorify", but society don't wanna acknowledge their infantilization of women when it comes to guilty pleasure hobbies geared towards a female demographic, like they don't have common sense and a brain when consuming fiction

"The Vampire Chronicles characters are exercises in the cycle of trauma and abuse and how they are capable of complex emotions and receiving and giving love and empathy alongside all the horrible shit they do to one another" and "Anne Rice herself was a bigot and had some shitty personal beliefs and just because the genre is Gothic Horror doesn't mean you ignore the way those ideas bleed into the writing. Not all commentary is good commentary" are two sentiments that can and SHOULD co-exist, what the fuck are we doing.

Can't fall asleep so I'll speak my truth
Yes bi Buck was meant to happen in s4 but it was CLEARLY BuckAlbert.
They were living together in what is basically a one room apartment with one bed. Chim tried to involve Albert in the unveiling of Buck's tragic backstory. Buck was unreasonably mad at Albert about the Veronica thing and no one, not even the viewers, could really understand it. If you compare that storyline with Buck, Bothered and Bewildered you will notice the obvious parallels to Veronica being an Eddie-esque red herring.
And don't even get me started on the Buckley-Han Dinner With The Parents.
Imagine how great it would've been. The two Buckleys with their Han men. The Buckley-Han family of five.
But then the fox execs decided to choose hate and said no so the writers had to let it go and make them say they were like brothers or something and that's how we got BuckTaylor end of s4 bc they'd run out of fresh options and she was around.

sylvia plath, todd anderson and virginia woolf (aka ACTUAL tortured poets) watching taylor “im breaking up with my boyfriend for his intense depression and blaming it on him, im dating a racist who enjoys watching woc being brutalized and harasses young woc artists, i sent my fans out on a hate train to attack a young woc actress for a line she had to say as part of her job to show how mentally ill her character was, im dating a maga supporter, i refuse to say anything about a current genocide despite being the most influential person in the world right now, i am a billionaire, i fly 13 minute flights and have the highest carbon emission of any celebrity, i am a known white feminist who only speaks about issues when it affects me and has constantly let my fans get away with extreme racism and even encouraged it by associating myself with known racists” swift call herself a tortured poet (her writing sounds like a bunch of thesaurus words slapped over gabba hanna and rupi kaur-esque poetry that was created purely as a trinket for an edgy pinterest board)

To everyone trying to milkshake duck the alleged shooter (who was at my place the whole time btw, officers):
stop doing the cops’ work for them.
It does not matter if he tweeted something wrong or cringe or weird as much as it mattered that he took our collective anger and fired it in a bullet at an objectively guilty murderer. He is not an enemy, he is an imperfect ally. The enemy is the fuckin CEOs and the police state that lets the rich further profiteer off our suffering.

No, actually. It is not “shaming Katara’s femininity” or her “maternal traits” to critique the ways in which her character was relegated to a the passive role of the Avatar’s grieving widow and largely ignored by the narrative post-ATLA. Oh my god, we are not “degrading” Katara by pointing out the sexist implications of how her character was handled and to suggest such a thing is just so…infuriating and very revealing of the underlying sexism in the fandom.
No thoughts, just people endlessly glorifying Katara’s maternal tendencies without bothering to question or investigate the adverse effects of her parentification. Apparently anyone who criticizes the writing of Katara’s character is just denigrating “traditional femininity” and THEY are the true misogynists! Not the male writers or viewers who consistently minimize Katara’s significance to the narrative and mock fans who ship her with anyone other than Aang.
Not at all, really we should just accept the conditions of the narrative uncritically and never question the biases of the creators. How dare we criticize them and point out the underlying sexism in their writing?
