Wahhh I love your writings so so so much and you absolutely deserve 500 and more ToT seeing your posts always makes my day!! I saw the match-up event and knew I had to join, it'll be my first time trying one of those!
It is kinda hard to describe myself... Which I guess says something about me? I'm a total homebody, finding comfort in solitude and the sort of freedom that comes with being able to express myself, by myself, with no restraint. But even then, there's nothing I don't love about the bustling nighttime, basking in the sort of romantic air of the evening as I admire the city lights and the ambience of energy.
I'm the type of person that finds myself in people. For better or for worse, my presence is determined by those I choose to be around... So overall I'm a big people pleaser and am kind of starved for good friendships and affection, having always had a hard time keeping connections or finding people that truly want to be with me, which in turn makes me a bit of a loner, I suppose... I do truly yearn though lol, so the want for connection is still there, raging within. It's almost a painful sort of pining, because I never hold a grudge.. Even if someone does wrong by me, I will always be ready to welcome them again with open arms. I'm fiercely loyal, so I long to have people reciprocate that.
I adore anything that keeps my mind going and gives me that feeling of satisfaction and indulgence... I would say I find that feeling in my passion for art, writing, and reading... analysing my favorite movies and literature, getting to notice little things about the people around me and storing them in the back of my mind as little anecdotes I can smile about. Putting myself in the shoes of others, letting my imagination go wild— that small balcony full of potted plants is so beautiful and cozy, I wonder what the interior of the home is like, then... Small, full of zen, with warm lights? That person on the sidewalk, waiting for the bus with headphones on, they look like they would like jazz, or maybe something more upbeat?
Im also a dreamer, I guess I can describe it as such haha. Im a hopeless romantic by heart, yet sometimes I find myself feeling a twinge of apprehension at the thought of truly being in a relationship... Maybe it's because it's uncharted territory, or it's because that "dreaming" side of me has that sort of "prince charming" fantasy that I've always wished for, even on a more realistic level. But even then, I know I can be patient and let time do it's thing while I focus on bettering my own future, and finding happiness and comfort in myself in the meanwhile.
I feel like maybe I've made this a bit too long haha.,,, take your time, and have a wonderful day! 🩷🩷

anon I hope that you were purposefully trying to get him. I think you might actually be his soulmate oh my god
The First Impression:
Do you believe in love at first sight? Malleus does.
The connection is immediate. He's drawn to you like a moth to a flame, and conversing with you only enchants him more. Perhaps you bump into each other somewhere in the dead of night, or maybe you're just classmates, either way he simply knows.
Why He Fell:
Malleus soon finds himself purposefully seeking out your company, wanting to get closer but not sure how. This whole "friendship" thing is quite new to him, after all, and he doesn't want to scare you off.
There's no telling what exactly it is that makes him fall in love, but he falls, and he falls hard. He relishes in every moment you spend together, whether it's talking about your shared passion for the arts, or listening to you describe dreams. Your perspective on life is so... fascinating to him, he can simply never get enough of it. Your attention to detail, your appreciation of the little things, your ceaseless curiosity and active imagination, the care you feel for strangers... You quite literally change his world view.
Perhaps he's not exactly a prince charming, but he's close enough.
The Relationship:
There's a sense of understanding between the two of you when it comes to your loneliness. Later on, Malleus will question if he could tell that you felt as isolated as he did when he first saw you, if that was what drew him closer. But he doesn't put much thought into it. You enchanted him, and that's enough of a reason.
Though, perhaps, in the end, it's that shared loneliness that drives you together again and again. Your fierce loyalty, your craving for love and affection. You make each other feel safe and secure, which is all Malleus could really ask for at the end of the day.
He truly grows into himself during the course of your relationship, becoming a more stable, caring, and emotionally intelligent version of himself. You truly bring out the very best in him, and he can only hope he does the same for you.
There are awkward moments, of course, being two people that have no prior relationship experience. There's miscommunication, the occasional bruised ego, but there's truly nothing that could tear you apart. Malleus is devoted, reliant on his loved ones in such a way that perfectly mirrors your loyalty, and the both of you are quick to forgive and talk and move on. Probably the healthiest relationship to ever healthy.
He absolutely adores you from beginning to end.

Witch-Related Books to Grab off Amazon: Masterpost Part 1
First off, I'll be sectioning this into different parts based off of what type of witch you are/want to be/want more info on, or what practices you wanna add to your craft :)
Green Witch/Magick Herbalism (a classic):
The Green Witch by Arin Murphy-Hiscock - $9.69 (Hardcover): This book had incredible reviews on amazon, and a lot of the written reviews said that the book wasn't specific to a religion and didn't try to push a religion on you, which is so wonderful because not everyone wants to be religious with their craft.
Plant Witchery by Juliet Diaz - $25.19 (Hardcover) $18.99 (Paperback): Again, stunning reviews, just a less popular book. This book isn't about general stuff, but instead it's more focused on mother nature and the useage of plants (non-herbal as well, so your houseplants might be mentioned too), which is great if you wanna center your practice around Gaia and the healing energies of the earth.
Herb Magick: An Introduction to Magickal Herbalism and Spells by Patti Wigington - $14.99 (Paperback): here's a review from a verified person- it explained this book WAY better than I ever could:
The focus of this book is on the folkloric and magical uses of herbs, rather than medicinal applications. It provides a few traditional uses of herbs, but the overall theme is knowledge of the plants and their associations, and incorporating them in your spiritual workings. This is an Introductory to Magical Herbalism.
The author's spiritual practice is rooted in traditional American and European Folk Magic. She is a licensed Pagan Clergy and is the founder of Clan Of The Stone Circle, a Celtic Pagan Tradition. (Funny, anything Celtic has been pulling my attention feelers lately, no wonder why I loved this book.) Her spells are derived/based upon the traditional folk magic practices of Western Europe and the British Isles, and the author's own experiences. They are positive spells for magical intentions of healing, love, prosperity, and protection. Baneful or negative workings with herbs are NOT used in this book.
The aesthetic of this book has my little, beginner herbalist heart gushing! The blue, green, and yellow earthy tones and hues used were perfect for the topic of herbs! The cover is GORGEOUS! It's so pretty and flowery, the illustrated pictures of the herbs were extremely helpful because I had never seen some of the plants before. This will make future identification much easier for me!
Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham - $16.43 (Paperback): A couple reviews describe it as being in a cookbook format, and overall an amazing book, like most of Scott Cunningham's other works. Apparently the Amazon shipping was literal trash for a bunch of people and they essentially left the book loose inside the box to bang around and get all sorts of messed up :((
The Witch's Herbal Apothecary by Marysia Miernowska - $18.69 (Paperback): Described by reviewers as the PERFECT book for recipes and rituals, even one of Marysia's personal students spoke very highly of her, saying that she's the real deal. Other reviews state the book as being very beginner friendly, and beautifully written and illustrated :))
Blackthorn's Botanical Magic: The Green Witch's Guide to Essential Oils for Spellcraft, Ritual, and Healing by Amy Blackthorn - $15.79 (Paperback): again, phenomenal reviews, just a lesser-known book. Again, here's a review from someone who explained the book a bit better than I could:
This book is way more than I thought it would be. I thought it would be like a dictionary - you look up the essential oil and get the definition. It is that but it's also got a few introductory chapters about oils and products and rituals to give you a nice and concise overview of a lot of things you might need to know as a novice. I also like the way you can reference different oils in alpha order but also look up your purpose and find the oil you need.
From the looks of it, this book is specifically about Essential Oils. Is that still Green Witchery?? Lol I'm not sure, but i felt like it should go in this category.
Kitchen Witch (another classic):
Blackthorn's Botanical Brews by Amy Blackthorn - $14.49 (Hardcover): this is mainly a book of recipes for drinks and cocktails and stuff. There was one review complaining about how it didn't have correspondences, meanwhile the book is literally described as being a recipe book? It's an AMAZING book if you enjoy/want to start making homemade elixirs and cocktails :))
The Natural Witch's Cookbook: 100 Magickal, Healing Recipes, and Herbal Remedies to Nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit by Lisanna Wallace - $20.69 (hardcover): This is again just a book of recipes, and the reviews are really good. Here's one of them:
I wanted to write the review as soon as I got the book. I was not expecting this book to be so fantastic. The recipes are very nutritious and the names are very inventive, but I could see that before I tried the recipes. I held off on writing the review until I tasted a few of the recipes. Even my kids were very happy with the flavors of these recipes. They are mostly easy to make and they are very delicious. Be aware though that the food can only be as great as the quality of the ingredients that you get. These are not recipes that call for complicated or fancy ingredients, or even a lot of ingredients. As a result, you have to use the best that you can find/afford to get the best results you can. I did not use expensive ingredients, but everything I used was very fresh and it does make a difference on the outcome. Overall, the book have some great recipes, easy to follow and the end result does look like the ones on the picture.
The Book of Kitchen Witchery by Cerridwen Greenleaf - $12.89 (Paperback):
I am so pleased with this book. It’s so magical and warm. Sometimes the new age genre can be a little too technical or focus too much on religion or putting down particular religions... this was not like that. There are so many lovely tips and easy spells and recipes that are kept fairly light so you can make them your own. The book just makes me happy, it has an energy to it that goes right along with it’s artsy illustrations and at-a-glance format. This will be a great reference. Very grateful to everyone who made this book possible.
A former editor said that there were a few editing mistakes, but nothing too crazy. If that's one of your pet peeves, just beware when buying this book lol (btw the editor still have a 4 star review because they said the book is still very good)
Potions, Elixirs & Brews by Anaïs Alexandre - $12.79 (Hardcover): I just had to include both of these amazing reviews, since both said what the other review did not.
This book is so gorgeous and everything I have been looking for in regards to potions. I love her writing style and the way the book looks. Highly informative and I can feel her good intentions behind the book. She is very intelligent. I respect her and I am inspired by her! I found her by chance looking up books for potions, she also has Instagram! Very grateful, amazing book thank you:-) so happy to be the first comment:p excited to see what else amazing things come from Anais!
And
I adore this book. The art and setup is simplistic and beautiful. There is a system that tells you exactly how difficult each potion will be to make, whether or not it’s alcoholic, and what is the ideal season to make it in. The instructions are clear, the preliminary information is well done, and there’s even a section for brewing large batches which I LOVE. The weight of the book is nice and it feels of good quality. The papers are glossy and, I haven’t yet, but I feel like it won’t be a disaster If you get some of your creation on it. The book is separated into types of potions depending on your intent. This is a perfect book for anyone new to making potions or is interested in a magickal recipe book!
The Witches Feast: A Kitchen Grimoire by Melissa Madara - $35 (Hardcover): This book actually isn't out yet, but it'll be released on October 26th of this year (2021). It looks promising, which is why I put it on the list, and for that much money, it better be good lol
Lunar/Moon/Astrology Witch:
The Complete Guide to Astrology by Louise Edington - $9.49 (Paperback) $22.99 (Hardcover): There's amazing reviews on this book, and one of them said that she's been researching astrology for 23 years!! Here's the review in it's entirety:
I've been a student of Astrology for the past 23 years now, and have read most of the books on this subject that are considered foundational. Many guides to astrology that I page through in a bookstore are fine, but covering information I already know. What I so appreciated about Edington's new book is that she brings a new angle to even the basics of Astrology. Her book feels like a fresh update, more appropriate to our current time in terms of language and sensibility. There are no "evil" aspects or transits in Edington's view, no dark warnings of disaster; her evolutionary perspective encourages us to see the opportunity in even the most challenging times, what can be learned, what can be accomplished. As she says in her book, she doesn't look at the natal chart as something fixed, unchanging, rather a "blueprint rich in meaning and possibility."
I also admired Edington's extensive knowledge of the stories behind the names and symbology used in Astrology: sharing her interpretations of them, how they are useful, how they can be limiting. Concepts I thought I already understood have been unpacked in greater depth by the author, so that I see deeper layers.
This text is beautifully written, well-organized, offering a fresh update, as well as a deeper dive than many astrology texts. This book is an invaluable resource I'll be returning to, and consulting, with appreciation.
Moon Spells: How to Use the Phases of the Moon to Get What You Want by Diane Ahlquist - $11.35 (Paperback): This book is a bit older fashioned in the sense that it's VERY heteronormative, we're talking about love magick SPECIFICALLY for men and all about being a father, and a section of love magick SPECIFICALLY for women and being a mother. So if this gets on your nerves, then i wouldn't recommend this book. Other than that, the reviews are very good and they describe the book as being a must-have for lunar witches.
The Complete Book of Moon Spells by Michael Herkes - $13.49 (Paperback): Yes, this book was written by a man. If that's something that might make you not want to purchase, please look at this and also keep in mind that SO MANY of the most highly esteemed witches of the world ARE MEN. So if you wanna be closed off and refuse their help and their knowledge, go ahead sis, I'm not stopping you.
Tumblr media
He's most definitely not just "some guy". Aside from that, this book has very good reviews. Some people called it "fluffy" and a bit less serious then they anticipated, but it's very good for beginner witches who are finally wanting to start doing spells. Here's a review.
In this book you explore ways to conjure the mysterious power of the moon to manifest your intentions to achieve abundance and balance in your life! Each chapter is devoted to one of the eight phases of the moon and includes various spells, tarot spreads, crystal grids and potions that reflect that phase of the moon!
This is an overall amazing book if you want to build a foundation of learning about the history of the moon, astrology, cycles & phases, ritual tools, crystals, herbs, and essential oils- as well as the moon spells and rituals.
This is one of my new favorite books! I feel so connected to the moon and this book is a great reference for learning the best rituals and spells to use for the different moon phases and energies surrounding them! It’s easy to follow and the lunar rituals, mystical spells and magical drinks are so vibrant, creative and helpful in my spiritual journey. I’d recommend this book to anyone that loves the moon like I do.
Moon Magic: A Handbooks of Lunar Cycles, Lore, and Mystical Energies by Aurora Kane - $19.99 (Hardcover, although there's only three left when I'm looking at it) $9.99 (Kindle):
One review said that the book much surpassed their expectations, and another review said this:
I absolutely adore this book.
If you're just a beginner and want to understand the different moon phases, this is the book to get.
The information inside was extremely helpful without being overly complicated.
Well worth the money spent.
Astrology: Using the Wisdom of the Stars in Your Everyday Life by DK - $14.59 (Hardcover):
I saw this in store and was immediately drawn to it's beautiful and shiny cover! But when I open it, the inside is just as beautiful! I love looking through the pages. I would say it is a very good basic astrology book, but I have another one that gives much more detail. I like this one for more of a quick reference kind of book. It's more of a bullet point style book, where it gives little tidbits instead of paragraphs going in depth. (Though some pages do have paragraphs) BUT, it covers just about everything including all the houses, moon signs, and ascending signs. It covers everything, but it just covers he tip of the iceberg. (In my opinion) I still absolutely recommend it!
Apparently this book is also available in Barnes and Noble, so if you have access to one, you might wanna look there for the book before purchasing off of Amazon :)
Misc Books (General):
The Spell Book for New Witches: Essential Spells to Change Your Life by Ambrosia Hawthorn - $10.19 (Paperback) $20.69 (Hardcover):
This book... It's a very good spell book, and is true in the spells it contains, but MY biggest problem with it is that it's V E R Y Wiccan, and seems almost preachy about the "Threefold Law" and what they like to call "karma". Choosing not to do dark magick is PERFECTLY FINE and being Wiccan is totally okay! But don't be like Christianity and rub it in people's faces, dude. The book talks about how you can ONLY practice "love and light". Other than that, this book is AMAZING and rated literally 5 stars with over 11K reviews. If you lean more Wiccan, by ALL means, buy this spellbook. It's the one for you.
Practical Magic for Beginners by Maggie Haseman - $13.49 (Paperback)
This book is fantastic for the witch who wants to learn more about her craft but doesn't know where to start. Each subject is broken down into easy to absorb bits of wisdom without being overwhelming. A great jumping off place to decide where to dive in deep next.
This book is very comprehensive, and is a great reference guide for beginner witches, or witches looking to add another book to their collection.
Candle Magic For Beginners by Mystic Dylan - $10.86 (Paperback) $21.99 (Spiral bound)
This book is a must have for anyone looking to deepen their connection with the magical element of fire, ritual, and spell work through candle magic! Dylan not only teaches you how to use candle magic for things such as protection, abundance, love, healing, and more, but takes you through the fascinating history of the power of fire & how to properly charge, cleanse, and consecrate your candles to begin manifesting your deepest desires!!! Overall, the book is beautifully written with gorgeous illustration and will hook you from the start!!!!!!!
This book is perfect for beginners to candle magick, or beginners to the craft in general. I personally LOVE candle magic because I've always been attracted to fire. I could void out and just stare at a flame for hours on end lol
Crystals for Beginners by Karen Frazier - $8.99 (Paperback) $20.95 (Spiral bound)
Absolutely love this book!! It’s so informative! I am a beginner and this book explains a lot. Everything a beginner would need to know about crystals is in this book. I am so pleased with it. Best purchase of the week! Definitely worth it. The author explains crystals, chakras and energy so enthusiastically and in a way that is easy to understand. At the end of the book, is a “resources” page with all the websites, books and apps that the Author recommends.
Again, very beginner friendly, but this time it's not spells, it's crystals and such. I've personally been wanting this book for AGES
The Crystal Bible Series by Judy Hall - $38.99 (Volume 1-3 shrink-wrapped set, paperback):
This is my first purchase of the three-part series by Judy Hall. Volume 1 covers over 200 crystals! I can already tell you I'll be purchasing volumes 2 and 3 (each of which cover 200+ MORE crystals/stones, not included in volume 1) I love how each crystal description includes photos to further help in identification. I also appreciate that rarity and sources were included. Information about the spiritual and physical impacts of crystals on the body is in there as well! This book is loaded with a lot of great information and is the perfect quick reference. It's also small and fits easily in my hand. I highly recommend it for beginners.
This is a review from just the first book, and it's from a verified hauler/buyer :)) these aren't exactly newbie friendly, and some people say they're a bit harder to understand.

Playing with your Heart
Hello all! This story was inspired by a conversation @fox-knives and @malicealieness had with me about Sero pining after a Y/n who was already in a relationship. Because I am a classical musician by trade, this happened! It was a lot of fun to write and talk about, and I really hope you enjoy!
Sero Hanta has been in love with you since you first met, but you’ve already got a boyfriend. When tensions rise between you and your beloved, he has to play the supportive friend and be there for you - right? So why does he want more?
Warnings: NSFW content, recreational drug use
Here are the links to the pieces of music referenced in the story:
Voi Che Sapete
Als Luise die Briefe
Merry Go Round of Life
When people thought of classical musicians, they most often thought of someone posh and straight-laced, someone snobby with way too much time on their hands who won’t listen to a piece unless the composer was long dead. Sero had learned from experience that this was very far from the truth. He was an anomaly himself – a piano prodigy who took up percussion one day because he was bored, and had been accepted on a full ride to UA – one of the top university music programs in the world. He also gave off the aura of someone laid-back and lazy without a care in the world, and he did smoke a lot of weed. Like a lot of weed. Regardless of that, he was well-liked and well respected among his peers. He had a lot of friends who played a variety of instruments and genres, (and from people in the teaching and music therapy specializations too), and nobody ever treated him as less than once they realized he was a massive dork.
Unlike most universities, UA boasted a mix of genres its students could study. There were classical musicians, jazz musicians, pop, rock, singer-songwriter… you could find just about everything here. And among all of that, Sero had found you.
You were a classical singer with stars in your eyes the first time you had met him, and as you had excitedly introduced yourself and asked him if he was the same Sero Hanta you had seen perform a few years ago, adoration hit him hard in the chest. The way you smiled at him made him want to pick you up and kiss you, and when you spoke about music – about his music – with such joy in your eyes…
He fell hard and he fell fast. You were a classical singer, so while he went to orchestra, you went to choir. You always smiled and waved at him in the halls, and helped one another with your theory homework. Every day he fell a little more in love with you, and every day the two of you got closer and closer.
The only problem was that you had a boyfriend. A boyfriend who happened to be one of Sero’s best friends, and biggest rivals. Bakugou Katsuki was one of the most talented musicians Sero had ever met. He had perfect pitch, and could make absolutely any instrument sing. He didn’t play the piano (or anything with a keyboard), but he played just about everything else. Violin, cello, trumpet, clarinet, piccolo, bass, percussion… people called him the one-man orchestra. He could play more instruments than Jirou Kiyoka, who was one of the university’s best and brightest.
Bakugou wanted desperately to be a conductor, and that’s how he had met you. The two of you were taking the same elective conducting course, and had agreed to practice together. One thing had led to another, and the two of you had been going steady for a while now. Sero loved seeing you happy, but god if it didn’t make him so fucking jealous that it was with another man. What he wouldn’t give to be the one you looked at that way.
He noticed you seemed less happy about six months into your relationship with Bakugou. You and Sero had finished your counterpoint assignments together before one of your classes, and after conducting your smile seemed a little more forced. You didn’t give Sero a hug like you normally would, and as you paused outside of the percussion studio’s door clutching an art song book you looked sort of… lost. He had been practicing his marimba when you had shown up, and he had stopped to smile over at you.
“What’s wrong, Cherubino?” he asked sweetly. He called you that because the first thing he’d ever heard you perform was Voi Che Sapete, and he couldn’t get that performance out of his head. Hearing you asking someone to tell you if the feelings that overwhelmed you were love made him want to pull you off of the stage and into his arms while he kissed you senseless.
He also liked that it meant cherub, but the real reason was that he kept slipping up and trying to call you “Cariño”, but it was easy to change that into “Cherubino”, even though they didn’t sound remotely similar.
“Well,” you blushed and began to fiddle with your hair. God, he wanted to braid it or stick his nose in it while he hugged you. Your shampoo always smelled so good, like marigolds on a sunny day. “The spring showcase is coming up.” You started. He knew about that, of course, it was one of the biggest events of the year for UA University. The crowd was typically at least three thousand strong, and only the best and brightest got to perform. “You know how someone from our conducting class was going to be given the opportunity to conduct the orchestra for one of the pieces?” oh, he knew how much you wanted to do that. As he was about to comfort you for not getting the part, you cut him off. “They chose me.”
“That’s wonderful!” before he could stop himself, he was hoisting you into his arms and spinning you around. He set you down, and noticed that you looked anything but happy. “Cherubino?”
“Katsuki’s mad at me,” you replied, fidgeting a bit. “I knew how much he wanted it. He told me I only got the position because they want him to play the violin solo, and I can’t even get mad at him because he’s right.”
Sero started to curse the blond boy out in Spanish. “How could he say something like that to you?” Sero grit his teeth. “It is not true. He’s just mad that you’re better than him.”
You looked away like you didn’t believe him, and Sero felt the overwhelming urge to sock Bakugou across the face. You forced a smile. “They also asked me to sing at the showcase. Guess what I’m going to be singing?”
“Hmmmm,” he calmed instantly at your seemingly lighter mood, rubbing his chin like he hadn’t already read the email that had gone out. “Voi che sapete?” He asked coyly.
“Certo!” you nodded as you grinned at him, and if you were his he would be kissing you stupid right now. “Do you want to get lunch? Bakugou went off to go talk with Kirishima and apparently, he doesn’t want to be seen with both a viola player and his girlfriend. One’s bad enough.”
“It would be an honour to take you to lunch, mi media naranja,” he packed up his mallets and you hummed Als Luise die Briefe. It was a short piece about a scorned woman burning her lover’s letters, and cursing the fact that her love for him would still burn within her.
“I’ve played that before,” he told you, smiling over at you. “On the piano. Maybe we could jam out sometime.”
Your eyes lit up. “Yeah, sounds like fun!” you beamed at him. “I’d love to. I’ll get us a practice room. Do you have the sheet music?”
“Oi!” you jumped as you heard Bakugou call your name from across the hall. “Let’s go get lunch like you wanted.” He looked between you and Sero, his frown never changing. “We’ve got something to celebrate, don’t we?”
You broke out into a cheery smile. “I asked Sero if he wanted to come with us,” you answered, tugging him out of the percussion room and into the hall with you. “Because I didn’t think you were still going to want to go for lunch since you ran off with Kirishima.”
Bakugou looked between you and Sero. “He’s coming on a date?” he asked skeptically.
“Ah, right,” you smiled over at Sero. “Sorry. Rain check?”
“Rain check,” he agreed. “Have fun, Cherubino.” He waved at you and you trotted back into Bakugou’s arms. He placed a kiss on your lips as the two of you interlocked your fingers. His heart twisted as you looked over at Bakugou with such adoration. Bakugou, however, wasn’t looking at you. He was staring directly at Sero.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You beat out a 4/4 pattern while Sero watched you intently, the metronome in his head ticking the time exactly. You beckoned with your free hand, painting music only you could hear with your fingers, using ten paintbrushes at once to carve out a masterpiece.
You came to the end of the piece and held the final note in your palm. You kept the energy in the room captive for a few moments longer, and when you released it, Sero smiled at you. “Perfectly on time,” he smiled. “I don’t know why you’re so nervous about it.”
You looked up at him. “Just that Katsuki keeps criticizing me whenever I try to practice and he catches me,” you smiled softly. “I get he’s trying to help but it really does the opposite. We start rehearsals with the orchestra soon, and I don’t want to look stupid in front of everyone.”
Sero frowned. “Well, you won’t look stupid at all, Cherubino,” he smiled. “You’ll look graceful and beautiful, and you’ll shape your music so exquisitely.”
You smiled softly at him. “Thanks, Sero,” you smiled.
A few days later, after your first orchestra rehearsal, you slunk back into the percussion room looking absolutely defeated. He had been practicing with his newest kalimba, playing something from a Ghibli movie. You had walked in and he had immediately swept you into a hug.
“What’s wrong, mi media naranja?” he had asked, but he had a feeling he knew the answer as you held him tightly.
You looked up and smiled bravely. “It’s okay,” you answered. “I just – Katsuki was being – he screamed at me during rehearsal and called me incompetent.”
He pulled you into another hug, eyes blazing with fire. He had turned down the ability to be a part of this piece’s performance – he had wanted to see it – but he knew he just had to be. He would swap with someone just for you, so he could be there to support you.
“What is with you always running to him?” You jumped as your boyfriend stood in the doorway. “Own up to it – you came unprepared. You were being incompetent. Grow up and accept it. Do better next time.”
“Hey,” Sero snapped. “As an orchestra player you’re supposed to listen to what she does. You’re not supposed to question the conductor.”
“Shut up, I wasn’t talking to you,” he glared at you. “Show some backbone. Are you really going to let this third-rate-”
“Katsuki,” you snapped. “Leave Sero out of this. You are in the wrong, not me. And you had better apologize.”
“There’s that fire I love,” he pulled you out of Sero’s arms and into his own. “But you’re a damned fool if you think that conducting was anything but half-assed. I’m saying this because I want it to be good, baby. I’m your concertmaster, not to mention your featured soloist, so you should listen to me.”
“No, you should listen to me. Do not yell at me during rehearsal again,” you snapped back, bristling as you brushed past him, minding the violin case as you passed.
Sero was there at every rehearsal. He watched you conduct, watched you command authority from the podium, and shape the music as Bakugou soloed on the violin. Bakugou seemed to be playing within the lines, and jabbered at you to do it his way whenever he could. After every rehearsal you looked tired and defeated, and Sero usually took you to get boba while Kirishima lectured Bakugou about proper rehearsal etiquette. This happened every day for the two weeks leading up to the concert, until the night of the dress rehearsal he snapped. You had already run through your rehearsal of Voi Che Sapete, and Sero could not have been prouder as you sauntered off the stage. God, he loved you. Even watching you from the back of the orchestra, he was blown away from your stage presence. The sweater you wore laced up at the back with a bow resting at the swell of your ass. He might have been staring at it for a little too long, but he didn’t mind having an extra mallet.
As you stepped up to the podium, he admired the way your ripped jeans hugged your figure, and then how you adjusted yourself. You raised your hands, took a breath, and began to conduct. Bakugou stood up from his chair for his solo, and started out a bar early. He kept going, glaring defiantly at you as you continued the piece. Some of the musicians caught up with Bakugou, others stayed with you. You cut the orchestra off. “Let’s start again from bar-”
“If you’re going to cue me wrong,” Bakugou hissed. “You shouldn’t even be on that podium.”
You looked back at him coldly. “I hadn’t cued you yet, Katsuki. If the concert were not tomorrow, I would have hired another soloist. If this were a professional concert, you would have been fired by now,”
“Oh really?” He snapped. “Well, if this were a professional concert, then they wouldn’t have hired a pathetic amateur like you! And you know what, fuck you! We’re done. If you can’t keep our relationship out of this, I don’t want a relationship anymore.” He packed up his violin and left. “I’ll see you all tomorrow at the concert.”
You remained composed, but Sero knew you well enough that he could read the emotions boiling within you like a book. You cleared your throat. “Alright. I would like to go over bars-”
Your composure broke as soon as you and Sero were back at his place. You had planned on spending the night at your boyfriend’s, and he was supposed to be your lift, so you were stranded on campus. At least you had your concert clothes and makeup bag, and of course your best friend here to comfort you. You sobbed into your hands, body shaking as Sero watched you ugly crying. A pizza with your favourite toppings and a bubble tea sat untouched in front of you as he rubbed your back. How were you so beautiful even wailing in anguish and huffing with sobs that shook your whole body?
You threw your arms around him and sobbed into his shoulder as he got close enough, holding him tightly as he stroked your hair. “It’s okay, mi media naranja,” he spoke softly into your hair, savouring the smell of marigolds once more. “Let it out. I’m here.”
He hummed softly to you as you slowly began to stop crying, and then you were just lying pliant in his arms, fingers playing with the beaded necklace he had worn today. “Hey,” he spoke. “Can I get you anything? Water? Doritos? Craigslist ad for a hitman?”
You laughed at that. “Edibles?” you replied.
He hesitated. You had never done any drugs with him before (or at all, as far as he knew), so seeing you blinking up at him asking for his weed he was ashamed to admit he was sort of turned on and excited that you wanted to share some with him. Mostly excited. Yeah.
“Pick something that’ll wear off by morning. I don’t want to do the concert high,” you told him.
He went to his stash of candy and retrieved some of his gummies. He picked out a package of lemon ginger and blueberry acai gummies and walked back over to you. He handed you both packets while he went back to the kitchen to get some beer for you, and when he came back you had eaten one gummy out of each packet.
“¡Pucha! You’re only supposed to have one the first time and see how you feel,” he sat beside you. “Eat some food and we’ll watch a movie.”
You reached for a slice of pizza and cuddled up into him. He put an arm around you as he popped his own gummies, and the two of you ate pizza. “What did I do to deserve such a shitty man?” you sighed. “I – I just don’t know anymore.” You snuggled into his chest, finishing the crust of your pizza and sipping on your boba. You looked up at him, fresh tears brimming your eyes. You wiped at them harshly as you set your drink back down “I’m lucky to have you, Sero. I really am.”
He leaned down and before he could stop himself he was kissing you, one hand coming up to cup your face in his palm. You didn’t pull away, and when he did you were staring at him with wide eyes.
“I shouldn’t have done that,” he mentally cursed himself out as you processed the kiss. “I’m sorry mi media naranja. I just-” you reached up and kissed him back, soft and timid and sweet. You tasted like pizza and brown sugar and as he pulled you into his lap everything in the world made sense to him. Your kisses grew more and more desperate, and he responded in kind, running his hands along your thighs as he helped you straddle him, your fingers dipping under the black fabric of his hoodie.
This was so wrong. You were holding his hands now, and each zinging kiss sent electric shocks zooming through his body. This was wrong – you were still grieving your relationship for Christ’s sake – but as you wrapped your arms around him and pulled away just the slightest bit – enough so you were panting against him and he could see your kiss-swollen lips – he was addicted. For him, there was just no going back.
You kept kissing him as you squirmed in his lap, and he wanted to pull away and tell you that if you kept that up, he wasn’t going to be able to hold himself back. As you finally chucked off your pants and underwear, he realized you had absolutely no intention of holding back. No intention of stopping. Your hands found his belt as you went back to kissing him, and he squeezed your ass with one hand while his fingers toyed with your slit. He felt a burst of pride as he felt how wet you were, and as you fished his cock out you spent only a few moments stroking it before you were guiding it inside of you.
He hissed at the sensation, shivering as you wrapped your arms around him and tugged on his hair. You began to move your hips, sighing against him as he deepened your kisses. He hadn’t wanted this to be your first time. He’d always imagined wining and dining you, sweeping you off of your feet and carrying you to bed where he would ravish you completely, but as you mouthed at his neck and held him tightly, nothing had ever felt more perfect.
“God, who could ever stand to lose you?” he asked out loud, running his fingers through your hair. “I think I’d die of sadness.”
He kissed you as you tried to respond, not sure he could stomach a rejection yet. You continued to ride him, still slow and unhurried as you just enjoyed his warmth. The intimacy. He held you like you were all that was precious to him, and as you began to slowly speed up, you felt him bucking into you. He kissed you again to stop himself from saying he loved you out loud, relishing the feeling of your fingers sneaking under his hoodie and shirt to trace along the lines of his body.
Your heavy breathing and quiet noises filled his senses, along with the sweet smell of marigolds and the feeling of euphoria your every touch brought him. “H-Hanta,” you spoke breathlessly against his lips, and his heart skipped a beat. You wrapped your arms around him once again, this time with your skin against his skin. “Hanta please.” You looked up at him with pleading eyes and he pulled you into another kiss, one hand finding your clit while the other sat on your hip, helping you ride him.
Your phone started to ring then, and the two of you ignored it as you lost yourselves. The edibles were kicking in now, leaving everything hazy and distant and a little foggy as you tangled your tongue with his. “Feels so good,” you whined a tiny bit as you said that, and the breathy need in your voice made sparks dance around his abdomen. The phone rang again, and he ignored it still as he trailed the arm up away from your hip and pulled your body flush to his. Chest to chest, he continued to play with you and hold you close and listen to your little sounds.
He let a few of his own slip as he enjoyed you, and if he had had any less composure he would have been drooling. He braced your legs against his body and clumsily rolled the two of you over so he was between your legs now, and you were under him. You pulled your arms out of his hoodie to brace yourself, but after a moment your arms and legs were wrapped around him and he was in absolute heaven. He started mumbling to you in Spanish, confessing every little dirty thing he wanted to do to you. He told you that you were beautiful and talented and that he loved you. He told you that Bakugou was the world’s biggest idiot. He also told you nasty words about how perfectly your cunt squeezed him, and as you tugged his hair he almost wondered if you understood.
“I’m gonna cum soon,” he mumbled. “Are you close?”
You nodded, locking your ankles behind his back as you once more pulled him into a kiss. That message was clear enough, he thought as he returned a hand to your clit, the other bracing himself against the couch as he held back his orgasm with everything he had.
“Mi media naranja,” he cooed, kissing you between his words. “My better half. My other half. My-” he lost his words as he watched you fall apart for him, rendered speechless by the heart-stopping moans you were letting out – so quiet but so filled with passion – and the faces you were making as your back arched and you began to throb around him. A few more strokes and he was joining you in bliss, the feeling warm and tingly as it spread throughout his body. He struggled to breathe for a few seconds as you pulled him into another kiss, deep and desperate and perfect. He lay on you for a few moments, basking in the afterglow as he rested his forehead against yours and breathed against you, giving you the occasional kisses.
Post nut clarity began to settle in as he pulled himself out of you, but as you shyly smiled up at him, he wrapped you in his arms and gave you another kiss. The phone rang a third time, and this time both of you saw the caller ID.
Of course it was him. Bakugou knew just how to ruin the moment.
Sero pressed decline as you stood and stretched, the muscles in your shoulders tense and his spunk sliding down your thighs. He had to physically restrain himself from scooping you up and carrying you to bed (and only partially because he didn’t have nearly the balance he did when he was sober). “I’m gonna have a shower,” you said awkwardly, pointing.
“Okay,” he agreed.
“Then can we cuddle?” you looked so shy as you asked that, wringing your hands. “I feel safe when I’m in your arms.”
His heart was about to win the gold medal for freestyle gymnastics if you kept that cute look on your face. He broke out into one of his trademark grins. “Mind if I join you?” he asked coyly.
You held out your hand to him, and he stood up as he accepted it. He gave you a lingering kiss you leaned into, and then tried to lead you to the bathroom, but as his pants fell down, he turned and faceplanted. Your laugh had never sounded so sweet before.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You and Sero arrived about an hour before the concert started. You were dressed in a set of tails with your makeup done (he had watched you do it in amazement, and had just about asked you to do eyeliner on him), and as you got adjusted and warmed up (both vocally and physically), he was once again mesmerised.
You chatted with some of the other classical singers as you waited for the orchestra to arrive, and as Sero left to go warm up he found himself so incredibly reluctant to do so. He had woken up with you in his arms, and if he had to go a day without that ever again, he was sure he was going to die.
Bakugou arrived his usual thirty minutes before the concert, and you ignored him as you and the main conductor went over notes from the previous rehearsal. The hotheaded blond sauntered up to you and waited to be noticed, and he only grew more and more irritated as you ignored him. The conductor left you alone and you finally turned to face Bakugou.
“Hey,” he spoke gruffly. “You didn’t answer any of my calls.”
“I didn’t have a reason to,” you replied, calm and collected.
“I’m sorry,” he sighed. “Look, you were right. I’ve been an asshole. I’ve been in the wrong, and I’m sorry. Now come here and give me a hug.” He opened his arms for you.
“No,” you answered flatly.
“What do you mean no?” Bakugou snapped.
“As for your solo, you will play it the way I want you to. I am the conductor. As for our relationship, you made it clear we no longer have one, which based on the way that you’ve been acting lately sounds like the best option to me,” you answered. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a show to conduct.”
“That’s it?” Bakugou hissed. “You’re just going to walk away from us like that?”
“You were the one who walked away,” you smiled over at him. “But that doesn’t matter anymore. Like you said, if you can’t keep our relationship out of this, I don’t want a relationship at all.” You looked so damned powerful in your tails as you faced the blond down. Did he even know those were his own words? “Break a leg, Bakugou.” Sero felt his heart swell with pride.
The concert started and Sero was absolutely transfixed as you stepped up to the podium. You commanded such authority in front of the crowd, deadly calm and ready to emote. It was no small wonder why you had been chosen to conduct this piece – a switch had been flipped in you, and you carried yourself like a conductor.
Bakugou waited patiently for his cue. When you made eye contact and gave it to him you didn’t linger. He played the solo exactly the way you wanted it, fingers dancing across his fret board and managing to make the piece almost melancholy. You played with that emotion, bringing out certain sections to highlight Bakugou’s playing. Sero was under your spell as he watched you move, and he smiled as he realized this was where you belonged. You were in your element without a doubt, and he was so, so proud of you.
As the piece finished you once more held all of the energy in the room within yourself, and only once you relaxed did thunderous applause fill the hall. You took your bow with a smile, and if Sero didn’t have to play the next piece he would have chased you down backstage and kissed you stupid.
Despite loving the music, he couldn’t wait to be done. Just a few mote pieces until the concert ended, and next up was you. Your character was totally different as you stepped out, no longer that powerful conductor he had seen before. Now you were Cherubino, the young man curious about love. The music swelled as you described the sensations flowing through you, and Sero wanted to call out “Yes!” as you asked if they were love.
You finished the piece with a smile, and the crowd once more erupted into applause.
Now Sero definitely needed to find you backstage. You took your bow and made your exit, and the next time he saw you, you were receiving flowers as a thank you for being a soloist. Bakugou held his own bouquet awkwardly in one arm, his violin in the other hand, but Sero could not have cared less about him as he abandoned his mallets to meet you backstage. “You were amazing, Cariño!” he declared, picking you up and spinning you around. He set you down and the two of you hugged.
“You weren’t so bad yourself,” you smiled at him and pulled away. Bakugou glared at him over your shoulder, and he grinned as he flipped the blond off behind your back. “So, are you hungry?” you asked sweetly, and the sweet scent of marigolds surrounded him once more. Your bouquet was made up of them, and when you got home he was going to insist you press them. You leaned in close and whispered “We can skip out on the cast party and go right to bed if you want.”
Sero had to physically stop himself from proposing on the spot.

Heyyyy. I wanted to know how if u know how cql differs from the original story. Which is better? I'm kinda lazy to read and the donghua seemed super rushed to me? The manhua i heard is similar but it doesnt give me the same vibe idk.... maybe it's just me. like even a few pointers about big story changes would help. tyyyyyyy
Heyy,
I wanna start by saying that I do love all adaptations, so I will do my best just to point out the differences without being partial (too much) for certain plot elements.
It's true that the drama is a neat way to experience the story at a slower pace, but it's so because in a TV series scenario it makes perfect sense for everything to be slower and laid out or fed to the viewer. It makes sense to overextend tender and dramatic moments or to take the time and add a bunch of funny hilarious bits.
The donghua however is absolutely amazing and 100% worth watching. The plot advancing quicker than in the drama or the novel actually makes a lot of sense given, well first this is animation. It focuses on what's really important and the way the action scenes are intertwined with the main story elements is absolutely astounding. In an animated medium they did the absolute best to bring this long story to life. Plus the art is absolutely GORGEOUS, down to every frame. I strongly recommend it.
The manhua does follow the novel almost to the letter which is so refreshing to see and it's so rad to read too, plus I like the art style and also no censorship xD
I love them all because they each work in their own way. Bringing the drama slow pace into the donghua wouldn't work at all as well as making CQL shorter and more action packed would look ridiculous.
Personally I think it's rad to watch them all and gain even more knowledge on an amazing story, by consuming the same story in multiple forms of media.I just think it's great to explore all the angles from which the story can be observed.
~
Onto a few major differences. I believe this list is far from complete, but I tried to jolt down what I could from memory:
-> Basically the main difference would be Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji uncovering the mystery of Nie Mingjue's death:
In CQL, this was changed from the novel plotline: dismembered arm(+ putting back the dismembered body) of his spirit, to a spirit sword. It ultimately leads to the same epic conclusion as it does in the novel. The culprit is unchanged, just the means to get there and the characters motivations along the way are altered.
-> Another major divergence would be the entire Yi Iron arc and the hunt for Yi Iron pieces, which takes a vast majority of the CQL flashbacks. This isn't present in the novel. The Yi Iron is only important because it practically explains the already existent and yet unpracticed demonic cultivation, which brings me to my next point.
-> In CQL Wei Wuxian is not the actual founder of demonic cultivation. Wei Wuxian still uses demonic cultivation and all his inventions are there, including of course the Stygian Tiger Amulet. The reasoning behind this is the Yi Iron plot I mentioned above, which was something that was uncovered and worshipped in the past and it's a tremendous source of dark energy and power. This leads to the fact that demonic cultivation already exists, despite no one actually using it except for Wei Wuxian (after finding the first piece in the Xuanwu shell).
-> To emphasize more on this, a big part of WWX's morality is altered in CQL. The necromancy part is also heavily downplayed in CQL. We see the same choices being made which inadvertently lead to the same conclusions, but he is always shown as more of a victim of circumstance or there's always a bigger plot at stake, pointing all the blame towards him.
Without going into a character analysis in this arc (because I absolutely adore WWX and I would talk about him for hours) I wanted to point out a few more things on this:
- In CQL he's shown to be in wrong place at the wrong time type of situations, which is sort of downgrading what the original intent behind his character was about.
- I feel like the novel has built WWX to be very self-aware and more realistic and human. He knows exactly where his stands and what his moral compass is the entire time. He blames himself even for stuff out of his control and every decision he ever made no mater how it was perceived as, was all rooted in and filtered through his absolute sense of justice and selflessness. He's aware of his mistakes and assumes responsibility. He's very absolute about the decisions he sticks to and he's extremely intelligent and calculated.
Then again, I'm not blaming CQL per say for altering this, I know every divergence to his character was solely due to censorship (as morality usually is in cdramas), I just wish he'd been given a lot more credit where credit is due, like in the novel. Because he deserves a lot more validation and recognition. Absolving him of everything he ever did is actually a disservice to all the pain he endured and all the work he put into the cause he believes in and simply striving to survive and in the unfair, judgemental cultivation world.
-> The structure of the story is different. The novel, donghua and manhua jump from flashbacks to present time back and forth, while in CQL, episode 3 to episode 33(halfway) are all flashbacks presenting the entire past story arc to you, before returning to the present fully. Again, to have everything laid out in order, works well in a TV series environment.
-> The relationship between WangXian evolves differently. The novel has Wei Wuxian mistakenly concluding that Lan Wangji doesn’t like him, driving a wedge between them after the Nightless City events. This of course, has a beautiful natural progression into romantic relationship, later on after he resurrects.
CQL on the other hand shows Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji having a very close relationship from the moment they reunite as Wei Wuxian died knowing Lan Wangji cares deeply about him. I believe this to be a bit utopic as, technically without previous explicit romantic affection - censorship -, Wei Wuxian's actions wouldn't normally lead to such an easy transition into them being extremely close, especially for someone as stoic as Lan Wangji. True, Lan Wangji has always believed in Wei Wuxian's sense of integrity and justice and this was prepared beforehand, however it would make even more sense if this was backed, like in the novel, by love as a powerful incentive.
-> Wei Wuxian's reincarnation in Mo Xuanyu's body doesn't cause him to alter his appearance in CQL. This isn't really explained except for subtle hints that Mo Xuanyu took precautions to ensure Wei Wuxian looked like his original self, but ofc we can tell it was done so due to convenience.
In the novel it's clearly stated how Wei Wuxian takes Mo Xuanyu's appearance which makes complete sense to happen after he used the Sacrifice Summon.
This would be about it as main pointers, if you'd like me to go into details for any of them please let me know. Otherwise I feel like this post is already long enough, heheh.

couldnt find the promt posts but: joenicky monster/supernatural au? i absolutely adore ur writing btw💕
you cannot hand me the word supernatural and not expect me to think of buzzfeed unsolved RGEHFBRWFHKJL im sorry this turned into a ghost hunter’s au i just don’t know how to write vampires or werewolves or whatever else constitutes supernatural
nicky does not believe in ghosts.
so why is he standing in front of a long-abandoned house, carrying several hundred dollars worth of largely useless equipment, wearing a shirt emblazoned with a big cartoon ghost? he tells himself it’s a favour being returned. his room mate, lykon, is endlessly more enthusiastic then he is, mumbling to himself as he fiddles with the camera that was paid with money that probably should’ve gone to rent.
“don’t look so worried nicky,” lykon says, as they step inside the threshold. his best friend flashes him a wide grin which is immediately contradicted by the alarming creak of the floorboard under his foot. “we’ve got holy water and everything else. we’ll just check to see if there are any ghoulies in here, they can’t hurt us.”
“you know i think this is a load of horseshit. i’m more worried about the house collapsing on our heads.”
“don’t be dramatic, dude. it’s in perfectly good shape.”
as they start setting up lights, laying out their sleeping bags for preparation of sleeping the night in this place, nicky is forced to admit there’s a sort of melancholy beauty to the place. it would have been a very nice house, once, not too ostentatious like the other houses they’ve “investigated”, with high ceilings and large windows, and stunning art covering the walls. landscapes, bowls of fruit, studies of fire and light and the night sky. but not a single person. nicky notices the same sprawling signature on all of the art, and steps closer to see if he can make out a name-
“nicky! let’s start recording.”
lykon begins unrolling the backstory of this house and the ghost allegedly haunting it, and nicky interjects throughout, punctuating the otherwise dead serious narrative with bursts of skepticism and humour, the way they’ve always done. lykon’s little ghost hunting channel is small now but getting bigger every day, and nicky can’t say he doesn’t enjoy it, verbally sparring with his best friend. lykon’s a believer and nicky isn’t, and while they’ll argue fiercely on camera they agree in pretty much every way off screen. apparently this house used to be home to an artist who’d been slowly making his way up in the art world before being murdered mysteriously. with no convictions, the story went that people were compelled to stay away from the house, wouldn’t be able to write without doodling, and smell fresh paint. also the standard doors opening and closing on their own, lights turning on and off, footsteps and the like. nicky was not exactly enthused to spend a night on the dusty floor, but hey. it beat sitting on the couch watching reruns of the same bland reality tv shows.
nicky’s halfway through a longwinded joke when lykon jolts like he’s been zapped, hand gripping nicky’s forearm, eyes darting around in sudden fear.
“what? dude, let go.” he elbows lykon in the ribs gently to get his attention back. “hello? what happened.”
“swear i heard a laugh, from upstairs, maybe,” he replies, face furrowed in concentration. he flashes a smile at the camera. “alright, i think we got all the background done. lets investigate.”
predictably, they find nothing. well, nothing of worth to nicky, but lykon insists that the room that used to be the studio feels colder then the rest of the house, they hear noises from inside the room once they leave it, and the spirit box spits up a few noises that lykon insists are words. a pretty standard investigation, then. they pack up their stuff and tuck in for the night. lykon spends half of it jumping at every little noise, but eventually drifts off as the exhaustion of the drive here finally gets to him. nicky turns over in his sleeping bag, hoping to salvage at least a few hours of rest from the night, but-
is that paint?
nicky breathes in as hard as he can, and it’s unmistakeable, that scent of chemicals that reminds him very vividly of the disaster that was year seven art class. he sits up, rubs his eyes. lykon doesn’t stir and nicky sniffs again. it’s still clear and strong, and now that his ear isnt pressed against the pillow, he can hear faint clattering, like the lid of a paint tin being wedged off. it’s coming from upstairs, where the artist’s studio would be, if he had to guess.
oh, fuck.
there’s a perfectly rational explanation for this, he reasons to himself, even as he crawls out of the sleeping bag to cram on some shoes and get a torch and a camera. he should probably wake up lykon, but something inside him is telling him, wait, to just see for himself first. maybe we disturbed the paint when we were in there earlier. an old house like this, it’s probably just settling. hell, there’s probably raccoons in the roof, or something. ghosts aren’t real.
the studio is... not how they had left it. it had been such a sad space, everything covered up in white sheets, shelves of paints covered in dust. now, the room is strangely warm, like the summer sun had spent a few hours streaming in through windows that were now uncovered, the night visible through dusty panes of glasses. there is an easel set up, with an empty, clean canvas about the size of a dinner table on it. and on the floor, a thin, fine paintbrush rocks back and forth, like it had just been dropped.
this was entirely too much weirdness for nicky’s brain to handle, but he wasn’t giving up on his hard line stance on ghosts just yet. strangely enough, he doesn’t really feel afraid at all.
“if this is a prank,” he says, deliberately loud in the empty room, as he bends to pick up the paintbrush. the tip of it is still wet, and the paint looks black on his fingertips. “if this is a joke, lykon, i swear-”
hi, nicky.
the words appear abruptly on the canvas, a rushed hand like whoever’s writing isn’t sure if they can keep it going. nicky almost drops the paintbrush he’s holding, but steps closer. the paint is still wet on the canvas, and it’s the same dark shade as the stuff on the brush. he shines his torch at it. it’s a very dark blue, not a black like he’d first assumed, the colour of a twilight sea.
“what the fuck,” he mumbles to himself, touching the canvas. it’s just fabric on wood. what the fuck.
did i scare you? i didn’t want to do that.
"i’m not scared,” he says, feeling oddly giddy. “this is a very strange dream.”
i promise it’s not a dream. tah-dah! ghosts are real. i am one of them.
as whoever it is writes, they doodle around their letters with incredible skill, little birds and flowers and suns circling their words. it’s strangely endearing. the paint smell gets stronger and nicky finds that he does not mind.
“what’s your name?” he asks, remembering that he is technically a ghost investigator and he should probably be doing some investigation. his phone is left forgotten in his pocket, though. he doesn’t know if he should be recording this or not.
joe, joseph, but it’s yusuf, really. the art world of my time was not quite ready for a name like mine, but i suppose it doesn’t matter anymore.
“you’re the artist, then.”
who else would i be? as far as i can tell i am the first, last and only death of this house.
“you were murdered.”
yes, but can we not talk about that? it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
the last full stop of yusuf’s sentence is darker then normal, like he’s pressed harder. nicky touches a finger to the canvas.
“i’m sorry. i won’t bring it up again.”
thank you.
nicky takes a step back, the room is lightening around him. he hadn’t realised it earlier, but the windows of this room all face east, which is why he supposes yusuf chose it to be his studio. on some level, a part of him is wondering why he isn’t screaming and running to get lykon right now. he really isn’t afraid, though. yusuf hasn’t meant him any harm.
“why did you choose to talk to me? we were up here earlier.”
it’s harder when more alive people are in my room. you take up so much energy. the handwriting pauses, like yusuf is considering. and most people are so afraid. i’ve tried talking to others before, but they get so scared. you didn’t seem frightened at all.
“that’s because i didn’t believe in any of this stuff.” nicky presses a finger to yusuf’s words, just to check. his finger comes away dark blue. “part of me still think i’m dreaming, though.”
well, you can’t see reflections in dreams, i’ve heard. there’s a mirror behind you.
nicky turns to see a sheet drop off a large standing mirror in an ornate frame, and sure enough, he can see his face, a pale shape in the darkness of the room. he steps closer, and skids a finger over the glass, leaving a smear of paint behind. not a dream, then.
he feels a gust of air, warm, behind him and he turns. nothing but the canvas. when he turns back, that’s when he sees him.
he’s about the same height and build of nicky, standing just behind him and to the side. handsome, a full beard and a rueful smile and curls, and eyes that are the kindest nicky has ever seen. and the most startling thing- he is opaque. his head and shoulders are more or less solid, but his torso peters out into nothing at all.
“ghosts are real,” he says, to the spectre in the mirror, dumbfounded, and yusuf’s half-smile widens to a proper grin. he does a little wave in the mirror and something in nicky’s chest swells. he smiles back.
“your friend downstairs is waking up.” a breath, barely a whisper in his ear. and sure enough, noises from below. he can almost hear the sound of his name.
“i won’t tell him about you, if you don’t want me to,” he says, and yusuf shrugs, flickering.
“i don’t mind, but i'd rather you not. the more people come in here, the harder it is to... exist.”
nicky can hear footsteps on the stairs now, and he blurts out, quickly, before this bizarre moment is over, before he is thrust back into the mundane of his normal life. “we’re leaving now. can i come back, sometime?” and the thing is, he really wants to, wants to know this strange, sad ghost with messy handwriting and beautiful art, and kind, kind eyes. he has so many questions. what’s it like, being a ghost? are you lonely in this house? and, why do you not have any paintings of people? yusuf meets his eyes in the mirror and smiles again.
“i’d like that.”
“nicky!” the door opens and nicky blinks, his hands dropping to his sides. lykon sweeps his gaze around the room looks at him with a raised eyebrow. the canvas, nicky is stunned to realise, is now as clean and blank as when he’d walked in.
“c’mon man, you know we’re not allowed to mess with this stuff.” lykon steps forwards and plucks the paintbrush out of his hand, the tip still wet with paint, and sets it on the easel. “you said it yourself, nothing in here now. we’ve gotta get going.”
“sì, of course. i was just... looking around. it’s a beautiful room.”
his room mate just gives him a look. “uh okay. whatever, man. let’s go.”
before nicky leaves, he picks the paintbrush back up again, tucks it into his pocket. says to the empty room, slowly filling with light and colour from the rising sun, “i’ll be back, yusuf, i promise.”
the faint ghost of laughter as he walks out feels, somehow, right.

16 - Crane
Word Count: 1,948
((I didn’t intend to do FFXIV Write this year. Then this prompt came along. Crane is the patron animal of one of my more recent characters, Kaito Yugureno, and I had to do something for him! I did this in a hurry, but it’s something.))
-
A long line-up and an equally large crowd gathered at the end of Pier #2 caught Kaito’s attention. Not every day people gathered there. A housing special perhaps? Or announcement by the hunting guild? The miqo’te hopped onto the roof of a worn, wooden building and peered down at the shoreline. At the front of the line stood a small, portable shrine - or at least Kaito gathered from the shape of the roof. The other hint came from the hyur dressed in long, ornate robes fitting of a shrine guardian. Kaito perked his ears down to hear the priest’s words.
“Welcome! Today is an auspicious day, for it is the anniversary of the kojin who once dwelt in this area,” said the shrine guardian. “He has done much to protect the shores here, and now it’s time for us to give back to him. It is said that he was once a dancer who sensed the patron animal spirit of one’s being. Would you like to see this for yourself? Pray to him and offer your tributes, then dance on the water’s surface. If you dance with conviction and purity, then perhaps your essence will be brought to light.”
After the shrine guardian’s speech, the crowd murmured to each other. Dance on water? As in walk on water? Was such a feat even possible? Kaito wondered the same thing.
“Only those with absolute conviction in themselves are able to do so. If you are willing to give this a try, you may walk over on the pier here. We have help on hand in case you fall in… and are unable to swim! Perhaps pray to the kojin for their blessings on this as well!” the shrine guardian laughed at his own joke.
Kaito’s tail twirled in interest, betraying his otherwise stoic expression. He glanced down at the shrine to see people praying indeed. How earnestly though? Even from his farther vantage point he saw raised eyebrows and a brief tenure that couldn’t have carried the thoughts of more than three words at most. The shrine guardian’s speech repeated itself to waves of people. Nothing more to see there. How about those continued splashes of water?
By the pier, people lined up individually - a line made short thanks to perhaps nervousness. Absolute conviction in oneself indeed. One by one, people stepped on the water, only to squeak or cry out as they fell down, accompanied by splashes of varying degrees and heights. Those who did succeed in walking on water, Kaito counted on one hand. And then took that golden opportunity to dance tried, tested and true staples such as the Manderville, its sibling the Manderville Mambo, and even the Yol Dance. Kaito squinted in hopes of seeing a guardian animal spirit or whatever show up - how did such a thing appear, anyway? But found nothing. Perhaps due to a lack of spiritual eyes. Or perhaps such conviction came from themselves that their sense of self was all that needed to be displayed. Their adoring fans certainly thought so, coming from the applause and loud cheers of their fans.
‘I admire their conviction,’ Kaito thought. ‘I certainly don’t have that kind of gall.’
Yet, despite everything Kaito witnessed, he felt an urge to pay tribute himself. He wasn’t sure why - perhaps his curiosity was once again getting the better of him. Most likely, if he tried, knowing him, he’d no sooner fall in the water the second his toe touched the sea’s surface.
Still, curiosity. He still wanted to give it a try. If nothing else, Kaito felt sorry for the kojin spirit. As dumb awestruck Kaito was at the worthy’s strong sense of self, he had to admit a point as well.
Were these people dancing for the kojin spirit, themselves, or their captive audience?
Still, pity.
‘At the very least, I could… try to do something for the kojin spirit. Anything is better than nothing.’
Kaito cut himself off in mid thought.
‘Wait—wait a minute! That’s like saying I can dance!’ Kaito’s eyes widened. ‘Kaiken’s the dancer, not me! Sure he dragged me off to practice all those years, and I keep up with it every day, but it’s for training benefits! I don’t really have that extra spark that he does. That’s fine by me though. Ballet is his thing.’ He sighed. ‘But still, doesn’t change the fact that I can dance… somewhat…’
Still, people.
People won out over his curiosity.
Kaito hopped off the roof to the back of the building. ‘Later! After everyone vacates. Hopefully the shrine will still be there.’
-
As a matter of fact, the shrine still perched on the pier by the time the moon rose into the sky. A large, full moon. An uncommon sight and perhaps coincidental. Or perhaps fate in celebration of the kojin’s big day. A beautiful gift that only nature could bring.
Now free to take his time without the added pressure of other people, Kaito stood in front of the shrine. The miqo’te sensed powerful, yet gentle waves of spiritual energy, and easily imagined the kojin spirit enjoying the view. Closing his eyes, Kaito clasped his hands in prayer.
“Kojin spirit, I’m certain you’ve had a long day today. I promise I won’t obstruct the view of the moon for too long,” Kaito said softly. “Although I’ve only heard of you today, as one guardian of Kugane to another, I wish to say thank you for all your hard work. You’ve dedicated your life to others, and now, I wish to give you a little tribute. This dance is one Kaiken—ah, sorry—my twin brother choreographed, and it’s intended to be a solo. Still, I hope you’ll dance with me in the moonlight. I hope to meet your expectations.”
After he opened his eyes, Kaito sighed. ‘As if my dancing is even worthy of a tribute.’ He sighed again. ‘What a speech. I ended up speaking more about myself than the guardian, didn’t I. I’m no better than all those other self-centered people. Well, if I fall in, at least the kojin spirit will have a good laugh.’
Kaito looked around. Once he felt secure that he was truly alone, he disrobed except for his undergarments - form-fitting, yet comfortable shorts he often wore during ballet practice. He quickly and neatly folded his clothes and placed them in a safe place. His calloused feet walked across the well-worn planks until he reached the edge of the pier. He heaved a deep breath and took the first step into the water.
And continued walking.
The water felt cold, like walking on a smooth surface, yet provided no slip. As he walked, he felt trails of energy brush against him and the presence of someone walking beside him, although he saw no one. Only the light of the moon and its reflection upon the sea’s still surface.
Once sufficiently far enough, Kaito turned around and faced the shrine—his sole captive audience. Imagining Kaiken walking through the stage curtains, arms spread to greet everyone, Kaito did the same, his hands slowly and gracefully moving in front of him to perform a bow.
He heaved one last breath. Even with an audience of one, Kaito still felt his heart race and waves of fear threatening to seize him. But he was here now and he felt absolute in exactly what he wanted to do. Instead, he smiled, imagining the kojin beside him and crouched down with his arms spread out and one leg crossed in front of the other—crouching stance as taught to him by his martial arts training. The starting point of the routine. Kaito imagined the music playing in his head as he leaned back, one arm raised, and tumbled out of position.
The dance had begun.
The solo choreography came from the ending of a larger performance as a whole. Various dancers of Kaiken’s troupe sorted into groups performed a recital meant to show the changing of the seasons, starting with spring. Summer. Fall. Winter. Then Kaiken’s solo last to show the coming of spring. The solo Kaiken choreographed on his own. The solo danced to much applause. And also the solo that Kaiken had taught Kaito for the sole purpose of practicing together.
To dance a solo was an honor and a privilege given to only the troupe’s best dancers. Although Kaito practiced this routine often, this was on his own. Not in front of an audience. Kaito just hoped he wouldn’t make a mockery of his brother or his routine. But this wasn’t about Kaito. This was about paying tribute to the Kojin spirit.
To represent flowers arising from winter’s end, Kaito remained on the ground, tumbling. Reaching. Like the stem growing from its roots. He felt the tips of his fingers cold as though someone held his hand.
To represent said flowers blossoming, Kaito gracefully rose to an upright position on one leg, his torso held sturdy to the side, one leg bent and his arms in fourth position.
Now standing upright, spring had begun. And so did the routine.
Effortless turns that seemingly never ended.
Leaps that defied gravity.
Flexibility that his muscular build didn’t look capable of performing.
All with controlled strength and grace, yet delicate sensibility of an old, gentle soul.
The more more he turned, the more he jumped, the more he moved, Kaito slowly allowed the rest of him to become taken away by the joy of dance alone. As he moved, he felt himself bathe in that same spiritual energy, now warm, as though someone danced beside him. Now completely in his own world, he danced, completely unaware of the wisps of spiritual energy trailing upwards from him.
Meanwhile, back on land, the shrine guardian yawned as he neared his charge. He intended to just take the portable shrine and go, another year wasted. When he saw shadows in the sea’s horizon, he looked up.
He froze.
His eyes locked onto Kaito in awe—half at the miqo’te’s beautiful, graceful movements.
The other half at the spirit that hovered over the miqo’te’s head.
A large, red-crowned crane.
The bird overhead emulated the miqo’te’s movements. Beside the fowl danced the spirit of the kojin, smiling.
“A crane spirit,” said the shrine guardian softly. “A sign of good fortune and long life. This is a truly auspicious year after all.”
Some night denizens or otherwise insomniacs came to the pier. Upon seeing the miqo’te dance, they stopped to watch. Gradually, more and more people came and soon, a large crown formed… both in awe of the dancing and the crane spirit that hovered overhead.
Finally, the solo routine came to a close, as Kaito came out of a spin and slowly crouched back down into sitting stance. Unlike his two arms spread out from before, he reached out with his left hand, as though reaching to someone. When he turned to the side, he saw the kojin spirit in a mirrored pose, smiling at him. The spirit’s cold hand clasped Kaito’s hand. Kaito couldn’t help but return the smile. His stamina fairly spent from the routine, Kaito breathed heavily as his heart slowly begin its descent into a more natural rhythm.
Loud applause and cheers filled the miqo’te’s ears.
Kaito’s eyes widened and his ears and tail shot straight up as his head darted to the pier. Not only did he see the kojin spirit float back to the shore, turn around and applaud, he saw a sizeable group of people cheering him on.
People. People watching him.
His concentration broke. Kaito dropped into the water.

176. Alice and the Nightmare, by Michelle Krivanek
Tumblr media
Owned?: Yes Page count: Unknown/not numbered My summary: Alice Heart is a new student at Phantasmagoria University, where oneironauts train to collect energy from the dreams of sleeping humans. She’s lived all of her life in the Heart Church, and isn’t used to being around other people - not to mention the rigours of the most prestigious school in Wonderland. My rating: 5/5 My commentary:
Another webcomic! Alice and the Nightmare is one of my favourite webcomics - what can I say, I have a weird affinity for stories based on Alice in Wonderland, and this comic is a delight. This book collects the first four chapters, focusing on an introduction to the world and core characters of the story. It’s a great introduction to the webcomic and, let’s be real, a great excuse for me to talk about a comic I like! My standards for what I count as a book for the purposes of this blog are increasingly arbitrary - anything I physically own and have read - which often excludes all the webcomics I read unless they have a physical book and I own it. So I got this book, so I could talk a bit about this comic. My rules, I can do what I want!
Alice is an excellent character. She’s exactly what you’d want from a character based on Alice in Wonderland - curious, full of energy, with a habit of talking to herself and a willingness to try new things. Still, this Alice isn’t defined just by her literary counterpart. She’s socially very isolated, which serves both to give her a little connection to the reader and to add a touch of realism to her mannerisms. People tend to see her as a bit weird, but also are in awe of her as she’s the protege of the Queen. She’s easily overwhelmed and a bit of a loner by inclination, as well as fighting a mysterious illness that is totally not her being a human not a Wonderlandian or anything ok that’s me speculating but still. She’s empathetic and nice without being boring, which is always a plus. It’s easy to make nice characters kind of dull, but I defy anyone not to fall in love with Alice.
Edith is our secondary main character, based vaguely on the White Rabbit. I say vaguely because her biggest role as the White Rabbit doesn’t really show up here, as Alice only follows her down the proverbial rabbit hole at the end of the book. Regardless, she’s a newcomer to the university, most of the kids having grown up together, so she and Alice form a sweet little friendship. She’s adorable, basically. I love Edith a lot. Through her, we get to see a little more of the world - she introduces Trinkets, magical items powered by being loved by people, and her siblings Dee and Dum are our main teachers about the Dreamscape and the job of oneironauts. She also has Secrets, but they don’t show up much in this book yet.
I’m not an art person so I don’t usually give much of an opinion on the art (because it’s obvious I don’t know what I’m talking about), but let me at least state for the record that the art in this series is gorgeous. Lush, full colour illustrations, and always so vivid! The colours just pop from the page. It’s also used to lived up some of the exposition - not that said exposition is uninteresting or unwelcome, but check out this illustration at the top of the page explaining the suits. Simply beautiful! One thing I am missing from the web version, however, is the alt text - a lot of webcomics put extra commentary and jokes in the alt text, and Alice and the Nightmare is one. Not that I’m really complaining, putting it at the bottom of the page (as some print comics do) probably would have broken up the flow of the comic too much.
The worldbuilding in this series is just gorgeous. Krivanek takes the chess/playing card/dream motifs from Alice in Wonderland and runs with them. People are sorted into the four card suits, with Spades at the top and Diamonds on the bottom, which impacts the magic abilities that the characters have in dreams. It also impacts the jobs they have, and how they are treated - discrimination against Diamonds is a real fact of life for Edith, and something Alice has largely been sheltered from. There’s hints about what’s happening with Alice’s mysterious illness, Rougina’s backstory, Trinkets, and mysteriously-reappearing cats, with enough information given for the reader to stay invested, but still feed into the larger mystery. It’s some really well-done worldbuilding. (It’s also changed since this book was printed - the exposition in chapter 2 is different on the website, and that’s not the biggest change. When I first started reading, Dream powers were called Traumen powers, for instance. Trivia!)
And that’s all for this time! Join me in two days for more magic, with some non-fiction about witches in the 18/1900s.

Hello!!!! Could I by any change get a LOTR, Marvel (MCU) and Star Wars (clone wars, originals or prequels - I’m fine with either)? I’m female/straight. I’m 5’1, athletic build, with long black wavy hair, brown eyes, tanned skin, and cat eye glasses. Im a Slytherin, Leo and chaotic neutral. I’m quite the lone wolf and extremely independent but I can be outgoing with very close friends. I’m creative, independent, confident in my own skin, and quite laid back. However, if someone tries to control my thoughts and actions I can be very stubborn. I have a sarcastic and witty sense of humor and love banter. I love art, digital art, video effects/vfx, video game design and graphic design. Literally anything to do with art combined with technology I adore. I also love kickboxing and strength training. I love playing video games and watching all sorts of movies (sci fi/fantasy being my favorites). I don’t physically read much but I love audiobooks. I also love conspiracy theory, sci fi and true crime podcasts. Thank you!
Sorry this took so long! I have lots of request and I had to work all day long, but I’m here now! Thanks for your request❤️
For Lord of the Rings, I ship you with Legolas!
Tumblr media
• He is much of a lone wolf himself, and whilst he loves your company, he also appreciates some alone time. Whenever you deem it necessary to be alone for a while, he’ll give it to you without any arguments, because he understands you.
• As an elf, he has seen many ages and many different things, but your art style is something entirely new to him. Not that he minds; he loves it! He is truly fascinated by it and can stare at you for hours when you’re working. You’ve offered to teach him once, as he seemed so interested, but he claimed he didn’t need to do it himself. He just loves to watch you create something so beautiful, even if it takes hours for you to finish.
• I feel like, in modern day, he would be a total nerd. He’d know every podcast or conspiracy theory. He loves to listen or watch it with you, to which you both share your thoughts afterwards. When you don’t agree on something, it always turns in to a playful banter where the both off you will end up with tears streaming down your eyes of laughter.
• Where you are extremely stubborn, he’s very easy going. If it’s something too extreme, of course he’ll try to hold you back, but he loves to see where your stubbornness leads to. He’ll let you go your own way, but he will absolutely be that person who will end up saying “Hate to say ‘I told you so’, but I told you so.”.
For the MCU, I ship you with Peter Parker!
Tumblr media
• Listen, we all know he listens to conspiracy theories. He basically radiates that energy. You’d have to be blind to not see it. I can absolutely see the two of you have a notebook with all sorts of conspiracies. You even made one yourself where Ned is an alien imposter. Don’t tell him though.
• He’s great with technology, but not with drawing. He’s more the 3d, physical kind of guy. Not the one who’s great in editing. (As we’ve seen). He loves a creative S/O, but one who makes digital art? He’s sold. Absolutely sold. You sometimes give him little art things, because it just makes his day! He knows the time it takes to make something, so he’ll save it somewhere and look at it for days.
• Yes, he probably got his muscles thanks to the whole Spiderman thing, but he loves to work out with you. He’ll sometimes make a joke about ‘taking it easy on you’, but he will kick his actions up a notch when he notices how well trained you actually are. Spoiler alert, when he can’t win, he’ll tickle you, so run away.
• There will be days where the two of you have a date night, which consists of laying on the couch, eating some snacks, sharing headphones and listening to an audiobook the two of you chose.
For Star Wars, I ship you with Lando!
Tumblr media
• Please, just...your humor together? Amazing! You have the best laughs with him. A lot of conversations are made with sarcastic comments and witty remarks, which eventually grows out into some sort of roasting moment, where the both of you can’t stop laughing anymore.
• He knows EXACTLY how stubborn you are. He will absolutely try to stop you though. It’s one of the things you don’t really like. It’s all in good means, you know that. He’s just looking out for you, but sometimes it gets really annoying. You can easily tell him if it bothers you; he’ll stop, but makes sure you think about what you’re doing.
• He’s pretty confident in his skin. Sometimes, he’ll ask you things like “how do I look?” To which you respond with “Not nearly as good as me.” Makes him laugh every single time.
• He made a whole special room where you can practice your art. He even made a little corner where he can sit while you’re busy, just doing his own thing in silence, yet it’s enjoyable to the both of you.
• Game night is a thing. You’ll have one night every week where you’re just preparing to beat each other in video games. He’s pretty average at most, but, for the love of all good; so not challenge him in something like Just Dance or Dance, Dance Revolution, because he will win and it really gets on your nerves.
I hope you liked it! Stay safe during these times❤️

Ship: Everlark #48
Thank you so much for sending me a prompt! I hope you enjoy! As always, drabbles don’t exist in my world. So it’s a bit longer than I anticipated. :P
Prompt: Meeting again at a high school reunion AU
Ao3: X
Send me a ship and a prompt and I’ll write a fic/drabble!
“If you don’t go over there and talk to him, I’m going to and you know I won’t edit out any embarrassing details,” Madge warned when she saw Katniss looking over at the Welcome table yet again.
Katniss scowled, the alcohol clearly not kicking in yet. “I don’t need your help, Madge.”
“You’ve been sitting here for twenty minutes, Katniss,” her friend pointed out, “watching that table like a scared hawk.”
“Can a hawk be scared?” Madge glared at her and she conceded. “All right, all right. Yes, I am acting like a scared, made-up hawk, but I can’t help it! I made a total ass of myself back in high school. I’m afraid he’ll remember.”
“Of course he’ll remember.”
“You’re no help. Why’d I bring you as my date again?”
Her friend smiled a winning smile and rubbed her swollen stomach. “Because my dearest husband decided a fishing trip with his brothers was more important than coming with me to our ten year high school reunion and he bribed you with anything you wanted from his store as thanks.”
“Right, right,” she laughed. “So why are you trying to pawn your date off on some stranger, Madge Hawthorne?”
“Please!” Madge scoffed. “Peeta Mellark is so not a stranger to you. How many times did you two hook up in high school? In the band room, under the stage in the auditorium, the Home Ec room, and correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t you two do it in Abernathy’s office?”
Popping the maraschino cherry from her drink into her mouth, Katniss smiled. “I’m not confirming, nor denying, anything of the sort. We were total saints in high school.”
“Uh huh.” Madge sighed and readjusted herself in her seat. “If you were total saints, why not go over and talk about your sainthood with Peeta, then?”
Because she had broken his heart? Because 18-year-old Katniss panicked and ruined a great thing? Because she knew for a fact, thanks to Facebook and small town busybodies, that Peeta had just gotten out of an engagement with some gorgeous blonde who looked like a model and showing up now felt like cutting open an old scar? Because she was scared of telling him how she really felt then? And how those feelings haven’t really gone away and seeing him there, smiling and laughing next to Delly Cartwright as they welcomed old classmates, reminded her those feelings were definitely still there?
“Because he’s busy working the Welcome table,” she said instead. “Don’t you hate when people chit chat you up while you’re trying to work a table?”
“No, but that’s because I’m not weird about people like you are.”
“I miss the shy, barely-spoke Madge from high school,” Katniss teased, bumping her foot against Madge’s. “What happened to her?”
“I joined a sorority in college and had to do three years of recruitment,” was all she said, still giving Katniss a pointed look. “Go talk to him, Katniss. Rip the band aid off.”
She looked over at the table and frowned. “What if he tells me off? I don’t think I can handle that kind of rejection.”
“He won’t,” Madge comforted, resting a hand on Katniss’ knee. “But you won’t know until you go over and say hello. Here,” she tore off her name tag and ripped it in half, handing the two pieces over to Katniss. “Ask for a new name tag for me as your excuse to talk to him.”
She gratefully took the stickers and stood up, glancing over at the table. Two people were in line, the first person animatedly talking to both Peeta and Delly she didn’t recognize from behind. Yes, she can do this. With one long shot of her drink, she went and stood in line, Madge giving a whoop of cheer in support.
The wait wasn’t long. Five minutes tops before she was walking up to the table, the two pale blondes smiling up at her, reminding her of all those times in high school they’d be managing the ticket table at lunch for Student Council or the ticket booth for football and basketball games.
“Katniss Everdeen!” Delly welcomed in her high-pitched squeaky voice that hasn’t changed a bit in ten years. “I thought I saw you around! You silly goose, how are you? What have you been up to? How has life been treating you? How is that lovely sister of yours?”
“Delly,” Katniss smiled. Even now, after all these years, it was hard not to reciprocate the woman’s warmth and energy. “Life’s been good, thanks. Can’t complain. Still living at home with my mom and sister. Prim’s fine. Going to school to be a doctor.”
“That’s amazing! And you’re a teacher now, I hear, right?”
“Um—yes, I am.” Her eyes shifted to Peeta, who was all smiles as well, before focusing back on Delly. “I’m a high school choral director at the high school next town over.”
“You did always have a beautiful voice,” Peeta stepped in and her legs almost turned to jello at the sound of his familiar yet somewhat deeper voice. “Inspiring students to find their voices.” Ever the wordsman, Peeta Mellark was.
“Yes,” she blushed, unable to help herself. “Um. That’s a really nice way of saying I spend half my time telling my classes to quiet down so we can get some work done.” They laughed and that helped calm some of her anxiety. “How are you both? I haven’t seen either of you since we all left for college!”
Delly answered first. “I’m a proud Stay-at-Home-Mom—”
“Don’t get her started on her triplets or else we’ll be here all night,” Peeta teased, happily accepting Delly’s shove.
“Wow,” Katniss breathed. “Triplets. That’s—that’s a lot of babies!”
“That’s what Thom says—you remember Thom, right, Katniss? We all had gym together in eleventh grade. Well, he’s my amazing husband now and he’s always joking how we nailed it out of the park on the first try.” She held out her phone to show a picture of three chubby toddlers, two girls and a boy, smiling cheekily at the camera in nothing but their diapers. “Gretchen, Analise, and Tommy,” Delly explained, pointing to each happy baby. “They just turned three last month and boy, are they keeping me busy!”
Katniss nodded. “They look adorable, Delly. Look just like you.”
“Thank you. That’s what everyone says.” She put her phone away. “Anyone in your life, Katniss?”
“Oh, um. No.” She looked down at the stickers in her hand, realizing she didn’t need it now with Delly talking a mile a minute. “Work keeps me pretty busy and most guys don’t understand why I prioritize a bunch of high schoolers over—well, everything.” She laughed, feeling a bit awkward now talking about her non-existent love life.
Delly looked over at Peeta, a knowing look in her eyes. “Peeta knows exactly how that is.”
“Delly,” he said, rolling his eyes at her. “I’m a high school art teacher,” he explained to Katniss. “And I run the school’s debate and speech teams for some extra money. So I get prioritizing your students over everything else.”
Oh. She didn’t know he was a teacher, too. Well that made a lot of sense why it was a pain hunting him down on Facebook. How had she not put two and two together? “Elective teachers unite,” she joked half-heartedly, feeling nervous again now that the attention was on him.
“May our program budgets always just barely make the cut,” he joined in, all smiles. She smiled back, unable to help herself. His smiles, familiar despite time away, always made her feel more at ease.
“You know, ever since I had the triplets, my bladder has never been the same,” Delly abruptly said standing up. “I have to visit the potty. The bathroom,” she corrected herself. “We’re working on potty training right now. Peeta, guard the table while I’m away?”
“Oh. Uh, sure thing, Dells.”
“You keep a close eye on him, Katniss. Make sure he doesn’t cause any mischief,” Delly warned with a wag of her finger before walking away, waving to those she knew as she went, which seemed to be everyone.
Katniss stood there for a moment, forlornly watching their buffer leave. She barely knew Delly, but now as the curly-haired blonde left, she felt a bit of a betrayal of being left alone with Peeta.
“You don’t have to watch over me,” Peeta said, her attention snapping back to him. “Delly was just teasing.”
“Oh no, it’s okay.” It wasn’t, not really, but admitting that would make things ten times more awkward. “Madge is my supposed date tonight, but she’s been spending more time in the bathroom than with me. So it’s fine. Um.” Just get it over with! “How are you, Peeta?”
“I’m fine, Katniss. Thank you for asking.”
“Of course, of course.” Wishing she’d consumed more alcohol before pursuing this quest, she went forth, “I heard you moved back into town. With your brother?”
He shook his head. “I forgot how small this town is. Yeah. I moved back. Go on and ask.” He motioned at her, rolling his eyes. “About my engagement. Everyone’s been asking about it.”
Katniss winced. “I didn’t want to pry, but yeah, I heard.”
“As did many others.” He sighed and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. “I’m fine, really. I broke it off with her, actually. Wasn’t a right fit,” he explained. “I didn’t think it fair to either of us to continue further, but it still hurts a little.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, Peeta.” But was she really, though? Was she seriously happy about a guy she hadn’t spoken to in over ten years being single again? God, she was a horrible person. “But it sounds like you did the mature thing. Breaking it off like that.”
He shrugged. “That’s what everybody tells me.”
Someone came up behind her and she stepped aside as Peeta snapped into greetings mode. It was amazing watching him change so swiftly like that. Some people truly never changed, she realized, remembering how quickly he seemed to change moods at the flip of a switch. He did it the day she broke things off with him. How his eyes cascaded down in disappointment and she’d wondered if he might cry after confessing how he felt about her for all this time, but then someone had walked in, calling out to them, and he became all smiles and acted like nothing drastic had happened between them.
It was a bit unsettling, the more she thought about it now.
The line of late comers started growing and Delly still hadn’t returned. Deciding to keep her promise, Katniss took a seat next to Peeta and smiled as another former classmate stepped up, ignoring the quizzical look he sent her as they were asked questions about times for the planned events and how they both were doing. Many assumed they were married now, remembering how close the two were in high school, and thank god for Peeta stepping in and saving her stumbling tongue, explaining how Katniss was just keeping Delly’s seat warm until she returned and that they hadn’t seen each other until tonight.
After the third or fourth classmate assumed their matrimonial union, Katniss laughed, picking at the ripped sticker she’d stuck to her skirt for safe keeping. “I didn’t realize so many people remembered us together.”
“Small town school,” he reminded her, his tone light and joking. Like she didn’t stupidly break his heart. “I’m not surprised they remembered you. You forget how much of an effect you have on people, Katniss.”
Her cheeks warmed. “I think you mean yourself there, Mr. Popular. I was that awkward band and choir girl with the braces who never shut up about why the Baroque style was far superior to Classical.”
“I remember those rants fondly,” Peeta laughed. “Your face would get all pinched because I barely knew what you were talking about, so I couldn’t offer any opinion. And I loved those braces! The silver brackets really brought out the silver in your eyes.”
She rolled her eyes, remembering that line he used to pull every time she complained about her teeth. “Well I’m happy to say those days are gone. I’ve been metal-free since college.”
“Took that long, huh?”
“I’m pretty sure my orthodontist was just milking it for my money those last three years,” she laughed. “My teeth looked pretty straight to me.” Katniss smiled widely, showing off her white, straight teeth she suffered many mouth cuts and rubber band snaps to achieve. He joined her and wow. It really did feel like no time had passed between them. Like they were just a couple of teens back in high school, making fun of a teacher or a douchey classmate.
Peeta looked down at the table, tapping his pen in thought. “You know,” he said after a moment, still looking down, “I am free from this table at 7.”
“That makes sense,” she nodded. “If people haven’t arrived in the first hour and a half, that’s their loss.”
“It is,” he smiled, glancing up at her. Yes, his eyes were still as clear blue as she remembered, and was it possible for eyelashes to grow? His looked longer now. “If you’d be fine with it, Katniss, I’d like to catch up with you some more.” Was it her imagination or did he seem nervous? That made no sense. She broke his heart. If anyone should be nervous, it was her. And she was. The constant flutter in her stomach more noticeable now with her sitting so close to him.
“Oh. Um.” It was her turn to look down at her hands. “Okay. Sure. Yeah, that’d be great.”
Peeta seemed uncertain, though. “Are you sure? Was I too forward just now? Sorry, ever since my break-up, I seem to be a bit rusty talking with people.” That was hard to believe.
“No, no!” Katniss rushed to assure him. “I just—didn’t think you’d really want to catch up after how we ended things.” There. She mentioned it. Old heartbreak was out there now. “I know I messed things up pretty badly.”
To her surprise, Peeta laughed, shaking his head. “Trust me, that is water under the bridge, Katniss. I was stupid and should have picked up on the vibes you were sending me.”
“And I was stupid, too,” she said, a bit shyly.
“High schoolers can be pretty stupid.”
“I don’t know,” she smiled. “Mine seem a lot smarter than when we were that age.”
“Mine too.” He pretended to think. “Perhaps we were just idiots and it has nothing to do with how young we were.”
She laughed. “Maybe.”
He tapped her pen with his. “To being idiots?”
“To being idiots.” She tapped his pen back.
And at 7 o’clock sharp, Peeta declared it was time they drank until they got so drunk, it was like they were back at Finnick Odair’s Friday night after-game parties. Katniss happily agreed, sternly reminding him she wasn’t going to make out with him tonight like they used to do in the toolshed during those parties, causing him to burst out laughing. Quickly scrawling out Madge’s name on a new sticker, she told Peeta she’d meet him at the bar.
“I have to give my date her sticker.” He told her the booze waited for no one and headed to where a group of their classmates were chanting for someone to “Chug! Chug! Chug!” She smiled and went back to Madge, who was chatting with Leevy Anderson, an old friend of hers.
“Well,” Madge asked after Leevy excused herself. “You were gone an awful long time. Did you get my sticker?” Katniss handed it to her with a smile. “I take it things went well? Or were you just sputtering out nonsense.”
“It went very well,” Katniss told her, glancing over at the bar where Peeta stood, holding two drinks out, one clearly being hers. “We’re going to get crazy drunk now because this night has been extremely long for both of us. I hope you’re fine driving me?”
“One of us needs to get crazy drunk tonight,” Madge laughed, patting her stomach. “Drink for me, too?”
“Of course.”
“Going to make out with Peeta Mellark like old times?” her friend teased, noticing Peeta now. “I’m sure there’s a closet you two can sneak into.”
Katniss scoffed at her friend’s blatant assumption. “No, we’re not making out tonight, Madge.” Madge nodded, taking a sip of her pop. “We might next Friday, though,” she added a bit coyly. “He’s taking me out to dinner.” And she walked away before her friend could say anything further.

under the mistletoe with you (todoroki, bakugou, midoriya, kaminari, kirishima, shinsou, dabi)
A/N: just some christmas headcanons with the best boys :) i hope you like it!!! also, merry christmas eve haha!!
warnings: language, mentions of the greased weasel tango
summary: you do whatever you can to get under the mistletoe with the above mentioned characters, even if it means strategically placing it all over the place just to make it happen
shouto todoroki
Tumblr media
he was honestly completely oblivious as to what you were trying to do
such a sweet, innocent boy
he was very confused by your odd requests to go to this place instead of that one (even when they led to the same destination???)
but he followed anyway to appease you
which meant that getting him under the mistletoe was very simple
but getting him to understand was a different story
he wasnt very exposed to love between two people (*cough* endeavor you piece of shit *cough*)
so he wasnt very... knowledged in the art of christmas traditions, to say the least
the two of you walked under the mistletoe
you literally stop abruptly and turn around to face him
todoroki: ????????? what???????
you grin at him with that all too familiar glint in your eyes before you point upwards
he looks up and raises his eyebrow
like um... what do you want
but when you wrap your arms around his neck and get on your tippy toes
he starts to realise what you want
he gives you that FUCKING ADORABLE LITTLE SMILE OF HIS UGH
and you smile right back before you lean in and kiss him
he can’t help but smile against your lips because he loves you and its beautiful :((
his hands would be on your hips
everything feels perfect because you are with him
katsuki bakugou
Tumblr media
(this is not mine but i wish i was this talented honestly)
he doesnt listen to a word you say
literally he has zero obedience of any kind
but mostly, it’s because he knows exactly what youre up to
all those mischievous grins? all those bribes to go into the kitchen? he doesnt buy it for one second
nice try bucko, but hes not giving you what you want
even tho lowkey??? he wants it too
but he wouldnt admit that
because hes a stubborn bitch
but damn, you do look adorable in your christmas pajamas
honestly, for him it’s become a test of self-restraint
but he seemed to have underestimated how smart you really are
you saw him going through the hallway back to the living room and you bolted
you had, unbeknownst to him, placed multiple mistletoe around the house
you’d caught him by surprised so he had stopped in his tracks when he saw you rush past him
you realise you may have ran too fast, because hes not under the mistletoe; you are
he chuckles before walking to you, grabbing your hips, and pulling you to him
he finally gave in and kissed you
you ran your fingers through his hair while he deepend the kiss
all in all, it got pretty heated
but even though hes kinda mean to you
and a little rough when it comes to affection (not that we mind right?)
youre his princess 🥺
hes even sure to tell you that because um??? you deserve the WORLD
yeah he loves you
a lot
izuku midoriya
Tumblr media
THIS BOY
hes so WHOLESOME
he wants to make you the happiest person in the WORLD
literally ask him to do anything and he will
hes so whipped for you its not even funny
“izuku? baby, come here!”
he’s up in seconds, no joke
he’s right by your side, mostly because he thought you were hurt
but then he sees your gorgeous smile and hes confused
of course, him being the subby baby that he is, does not initiate kisses normally (emphasis on normally)
so without hesitation, you grab his shirt and smash your lips against his
again, hes confused as HELL??? but hes not complaining
“what was that for, y/n?”
you give him the most innocent look and he doesnt believe it for a MINUTE
YOU ARE LITERALLY THE SPAWN OF SATAN
but that’s beside the point
you smile and point up to the mistletoe above your heads
he smiles and kisses you one more time (initiation? only sometimes)
“you’re so cute.”
and of course, because you have no self control, you kiss him O N E more time
because hes just too cute
and honestly theres no one you’d rather spend your christmas with
denki kaminari
Tumblr media
okay, PLOT TWIST
hes the one trying to kiss YOU
but without his knowledge, you too are trying to kiss him
but you both have two different plans LMAO
“denki baby, come outside with me!”
“okay but consider this: what if you came to the bedroom with me?”
“but... outside?”
“but i wanna show you something!”
literally it’s just you two arguing about who should go where with the other
and both of you happen to be too dense to realise the intentions of the other
but you being the evil son of a bitch you are, you do whatever to get your way
even if that means... bribing denki 😏
“denki i’ll leave your ass, come with me.”
the romance is alive
but he follows you because??? are you joking or not??? he cant FUCKING TELL
you stop in the doorway and look at him
then it hits him
he beams at you and gives you the sweetest kiss
his kisses taste like sunshine
you melt immediately, a tingling feeling spreading from your toes to your fingers
you love this crackhead so much
but youre also a crackhead
like you both radiate MASSIVE crackhead energy
but theres nothing quite like being mentally unstable with the person you love
eijirou kirishima
Tumblr media
hes kind of like midoriya?
wants to make you the happiest
but like hes not quite as subby
more of a switch honestly but thats not important
basically, you tell him to come with you
he does it
no questions asked
you grin and jump up to wrap your legs around his waist
he reacts immediately, placing his hands under your thighs to hold you up
you tangle your fingers in his hair, tugging gently as you kiss him
bro this boy has it BAD for you
how did he get so lucky???
youre so perfect???
marry him rn tbh
hitoshi shinsou
Tumblr media
this sarcastic son of a bitch can take me
but anyway, he’s a great time really
he’s like the perfect mixture of good, affectionate boyfriend and funny, sarcastic, playful boyfriend
but hes not whipped
you tell him to do something?
“yeah? or what, kitten?”
honestly you want to kill him
but restraint and patience is the key to a healthy and good life
in other words, you dont really have a healthy and good life
just kidding
sort of
but anyway
“hitoshi, darling, you know i love you, right?
“what the fuck do you want?”
his suspicions are REAL
there is NO TRUST WHEN IT COMES TO YOU
you fucking psycho
no but anyway, getting him under the mistletoe is unsuccessful
but you do get kisses from him
he doesnt even need to use his quirk to persuade you into sitting on his lap
youre there in a heartbeat
he peppers your neck and jaw with kisses before he gets to your lips
and with each kiss, you feel your skin tingle and your cheeks burn
he had your whole heart
this smug bitch knew it too
and he used that fact to his advantage, but he’d be lying if he said you didnt have his heart too
hes a little bitch but you love him
dabi
Tumblr media
HE IS THE BIGGEST BITCH OUT THERE
but good GOD is he hot
anyway
yeah he goes under the mistletoe with you pretty willingly
probably because he thinks hes gonna get some
but???
today is the day of JESUS
and he needs to read a fucking bible first of all
he still genuinely loves you though
“dabi, come under the mistletoe with me!”
“why? can’t you just come here and kiss me? my lap is much more comfortable, if you really think about it.”
you roll your eyes at that
“but it’s tradition! come on babe, please?”
he sighed
really loudly
as if you asked him to do the most BORING thing in the world
but he got up and came over to you
he pushed you up against the doorframe and kissed you without any warning
your hands rested on his chest as you kissed back, trying to put more force in
he had no problem overpowering you though
he’s a fucking DOM and theres no argument in that
massive dick energy 😎
what was supposed to be a slow and sweet kiss QUICKLY got heated and sloppy
he moved from your lips to your jaw and neck
you were a panting mess
and then he hit that s p e c i a l spot on your neck
and man it was over
you were not going to get out of this one
you were going to have a l o n g night
not that that was much of a problem
you loved him just as much as he loved you
spending the night committing the sinful dance of frickle frackle with him would be magical
lmfao jk this is a strictly christian blog, there’ll be no frick or frack on this HOLY DAY OF GOD

first kiss || j.wy (atz)
Tumblr media
➵ pairing: reader x jung wooyoung (ateez)
➵ word count: 3148
➵ genre: convenience store date; confession; fluff
➵ synopsis: wooyoung just wanted cup ramen at 12:05am with a dash of seasoning “you”.
>>>
You’re startled out of sleep by the ringing of your phone.
For a moment, you’re tempted to reach for the accursed device and hurl it at the wall, but rational thought catches you before you can do so… that phone was expensive. Sitting up groggily, you push back the messy hair falling into your eyes and glare at your alarm clock. You feel like you’ve barely slept since the night before.
And with good reason, because it’s only freaking 12:03 AM in the bloody morning.
Your phone rings again and you scowl at it, willing it to somehow magically shut up so you don’t have to get up from under the warm covers of your bed, but alas, you don’t have any telekinetic powers and are required to crawl over to it like a poor, ordinary human being.
Flipping your phone around, you almost screech in agony as the unholy brightness of the screen seems to sear your eyes and you chuck it to the side. You barely got a glimpse of the Caller ID, but a mere glance at those first few letters is enough for you to know who it is.
Only one person is close enough (and also stupid) to call you in the middle of the night without fear of violent retribution the next day.
Grumbling to yourself, one hand fumbles for the device and you press it to your ear, burying your face into the plush pillows. You want to go back to sleep.
“What is it, Wooyoung?”
Wooyoung’s voice is much too cheerful for a Tuesday night, but its energy is infectious, as much as you hate to admit it. You don’t need to, he knows it already, that the longer he keeps you on the phone, the higher his chances are of you acquising to his often ridiculous requests. Knowing Wooyoung, it’s probably going to the nearest convenience store to buy ice cream in the middle of winter.
“Hey! How’s my favourite best friend in the whole world doing, Chin Hae?”
Honestly, you sometimes wonder if Wooyoung is a vampire. He never seems to sleep, living and thriving purely off a diet of caffeine and energy drinks and perhaps human blood. Maybe you should start wearing garlic the next time you see him.
“I dunno, but I’m pretty sure San is at home cuddling with Shiber in his sleep.” You reply with a completely deadpan voice, not at all amused at being woken up so early at night. Early at night? Or is it the morning? Late at night? Why are you even thinking about this?
“Aww, you know that you’re my best friend.” You can practically hear the pout on his face over the phone and let out a massive snort, rolling over on your bed to stare at the ceiling, internally letting out a massive sigh.
Best friend. A goddamn best friend is all you are to him. Stupid Jung Wooyoung and his stupid pretty eyes, stupid pretty face, stupid pretty everything. The two of you had met a couple of years back when you’d first started college, seated next to each other on the first day of school. Upon glancing upon his face, you had nearly choked. Knife like jawline, near flawless skin, adorably big eyes behind rounded minimalist glasses, you had momentarily wondered what a model was doing in your school. He could pull off silver hair without looking like an eighty year old man, for god’s sake.
Next to you, no less. You didn’t like how he was making you look like a pig just by existing.
That had already been enough for you to instinctively dislike him, so when the professor had asked for all of you to introduce yourselves to each other, you had intended to give him some silly, standoffish answer and never speak to him again. You knew it was petty, yes, but who had given him the right to look so good?
No one. That’s who.
But to your absolute shock, the young man had simply grabbed your hand and pumped it up and down enthusiastically, seemingly overflowing with too much energy to contain.
“You look like my new best friend!”
And everything had sort of… gone downhill from there.
Being Wooyoung’s best friend is somehow simultaneously one of the most beautiful and terrible things you’ve ever had to experience. He’s unbelievably kind, unlike what you had expected from such a pretty face, and possibly one of the most perfect beings to walk the surface of this earth. That’s the good part. You sometimes still can’t believe you’re friends.
The bad part is that you’re in love with him.
It’s no surprise, honestly. Who in this school isn’t in love with Jung Wooyoung? What you hate is that there are so many prettier, sweeter, nicer girls who all want a chance with your best friend, and you find yourself constantly grinding your teeth as they pass you love letters and chocolates with perfectly manicured hands, fighting the urge to throw them in the trash right before their eyes. You wish you could be half as bold as they are, but every time you so much as muster the courage to open your mouth to confess, Wooyoung’s breathless grin stops all brain activity and it just… somehow hasn’t happened for the last three months.
Swift and decisive, that’s you alright.
You scream into your pillow.
Best friend. Oooooh, you hate the sound of those words like it’s the screeching of the devil itself.
“Uhh, Chin Hae? You alright there?” Wooyoung’s voice suddenly drops in tone, a little more concerned and you’re tempted to chuck your phone out of the window while screaming obscenities to the heavens. He’s really not helping with this whole barely buried crush on him. In fact, you’re not sure how he hasn’t noticed. You’re pretty sure San already has.
But the phone. The phone is expensive.
You try your best to force a smile back on your face even though he can’t see it, raising the phone back to your ear. “I’m fine, Wooyoung. And don’t think I’ve forgotten that you woke me up. Why exactly did you call me again?”
There’s a brief pause at the other end of the line.
“Do you wanna go and grab some cup ramen?”
You actually lift the phone away from your ear to stare at the screen, as if Wooyoung would be able to see your incredulous face somehow. “Wooyoung, it’s 12.03 in the morning.”
“12:05, actually.” Wooyoung pipes up unhelpfully in a hopeful voice and you groan, rolling out of bed as you search for something appropriate to wear in this ungodly temperature, hoping that your fingers and toes won’t freeze off in the meantime. Shivering and dancing around once your feet touch what feels like an ice block under your feet, the cool marble of your bedroom floor chills you to the very bone.
“Ah, cold, cold, cold!” You yelp, scooting over to the wardrobe as fast as you can, fingers rifling through your selection of puffy coats before they still momentarily on a furry collar. You glance down at your current outfit, a lumpy, knitted sweater and fuzzy socks with reindeer print on them. Maybe you should wear something that looks better in front of Wooyoung?
“Chin Hae? Hurry up, it’s cold out here!” Wooyoung exclaims into your ear, pulling you out of your thoughts. Sighing, you shake you head as you imagine your best friend with an adorable pout on his stupid perfect face, pulling out the thickest black coat you have, one that Wooyoung gave to you a couple of months ago. Then something strikes you.
“You’re there already? Without knowing whether I’d be coming? In this weather?” You say almost incredulously as you shrug on the coat, adjusting the sleeves to fit better around your arms, the phone wedged in the space between your cheek and shoulder.
“Well, I knew you’d come!” Wooyoung says proudly, voice filled with so much surety that you’re tempted to cry for a moment. Maybe it’s just your infatuation, but everything he’s said lately has caused butterflies to flutter in your chest. You both love and hate the feeling at the same time, but it’s not like you’ve had much control over it. “I’m such an amazing friend-”
“Are you stupid?” You grumble, slipping down the hallway and grabbing your boots from the door side. Wooyoung gasps dramatically over the phone at your words.
“How dare you? I am hurt, you know. Are you questioning my mental capabilities?”
“Every single day.” You retort dryly, opening the door only to get hit by a blast of cold air right in the face. Holy shit it’s so cold you’re going to turn into an ice popsicle before you leave the house and maybe you should just go back to that warm, comfy bed-
Wooyoung’s laugh and perky voice comes over the speaker, echoing in your ears. “I’m waiting for you! Be there or be square!”
Before you can protest that he’s absolutely off his rocker for thinking that anyone in their right mind would leave the comfort of their home in this near hellish weather, the call ends and you’re left staring at your phone in wide eyed shock. His contact photo blinks back innocently at you, cheerful, bubbly smile on full display with his arms thrown around your shoulders, the two of you splattered with bright green and red paint after finishing your art project a year ago.
“I’d take being a square any day.” You mumble, then you smack yourself in the head and groan when you feel your heart melting. You’re not supposed to be this whipped for him, damnit! But you can’t find it in yourself to get angry at him in the least.
“You’re lucky I love you.” You hiss vehemently at your phone. And as you stalk towards the convenience store with murder in your eyes, you can’t help but feel like you really need to get over this stupid crush on Wooyoung before he makes you do something stupid.
When you do reach the midnight convenience store, it’s open and you step inside, glad to be free from the bite of the icy winds. It’s absolutely freezing out there, how Wooyoung can come out with the most ridiculous of plans is something you love about him, but will probably never understand.
Standing in the aisle, you wave at the lone cashier at the counter, he’s playing a game on his phone but returns your greeting, and your eyes scan the rows of snacks and bottled drinks in search of your best friend.
“You made it!”
A frightened squeak leaves your lips as you startle at the noise. Then you see Wooyoung sitting at the table near the glass wall with five cups of ramen before him, an endearing shit eating grin on his face.
You smack him in the shoulder hard as you slide into the seat next to him, grabbing your own cup from him with a pout. Wooyoung chuckles in amusement, rubbing at his arm in mock pain.
“I can’t believe you made me come all the way here for cup ramen in the middle of the night.” You tell him with a scowl on your face as you open up the lid. Steam creeps over your numb fingers and warms them up, and you grab your chopsticks to eat your ramen as fast as possible.
After that trek through all that snow, you’re ravenous.
“Hey, don’t eat so fast or-”
Shoveling the piping hot ramen into your mouth, you nearly choke on the first bite as the noodles scald your tongue. Coughing, you set the cup and chopsticks down and you can hear Wooyoung laughing hysterically at your side, his high pitched laughter bouncing off the walls of the empty store.
“Stop-” You cough again and hit Wooyoung on the arm in embarrassment. God, you should have never left the safety of your house. “Stop laughing at me!”
“Alright, alright.” He stifles his chuckles, passing you an uncapped bottle of iced coffee. Grumbling about betrayal and false friendships, you snatch it from him and down what’s left, his warm hands coming up to rub your back soothingly.
“You’re wearing those socks I bought you last Christmas. You swore you threw them out the second you unwrapped them.” Wooyoung remarks with a teasing grin and you growl at him, slapping a hand over his mouth.
“You saw nothing.” You whisper menacingly into his ear, Wooyoung’s eyes glinting with amusement as his gaze meet yours. Your heart stutters for a second.
Then he sticks out his tongue to brush your palm.
“Ew!” You yelp and yank your arm back from his face, only to find him howling with mirth. Scowling, you plop back in your seat and grumble under your breath, picking up your chopsticks.
For the next hour or so, you and Wooyoung eat cup ramen side by side and watch the snowflakes outside fall gently to the ground, covering your footprints from earlier in a blanket of soft, powdery white. Wooyoung speeds his way through the first two cups of ramen before finally slowing down on the third one, his lips adorably red and swollen from the spicy taste. The two of you talk about nothing and everything, merely enjoying the company of each other.
When the two of you step out of the convenience shop and start on the road home, the snow has stopped for the most part aside from a few stray snowflakes here and there, but it’s still freezing cold. You raise your hands to your mouth to blow on them and rub them together, shaking your head in exasperation.
“I still can’t believe you ate five whole cups on your own, Wooyoung.”
“You know me, babe.” He winks impishly at you, but then his gaze softens a little as he looks at you with a fond smile. You watch the snowflakes land in his soft grey hair and for a moment, he looks so ethereal that he really just steals your breath away.
“Don’t call me that.” You bop him on the nose and he jumps, taking your hands into his.
“You’re freezing!” He comments with a pout, puffing out hot little breaths over your fingers. You try to wipe the warm, content smile off your face before he can see it, fixing your face into a scowl.
“Of course I am, who do you think dragged me out at 12:03 in the morning to eat cup ramen?” You shake your head in exasperation as you glance at the head of silvery grey hair before you, his head rising to give you a mischievous grin.
“Alright...” He drags the word out playfully, his cheeks flush from the cold. “Where else do you want me to warm you up?”
You point to your cheeks. The sides of your face feel near frozen. “Here.”
Wooyoung ducks to the side, blowing warm air on each cold cheek. They turn red upon contact with his breath, whether it’s from the cold or embarrassment, you hope he never finds out. “Where else?”
You point to your ears. You can’t see them for yourself, but Wooyoung has always told you that they flush pink in the cold winter air. Wooyoung grins and blows on each too, and warm blood rushes there in response to his touch. “And?”
You point to your nose. “It’s cold here.”
Wooyoung’s face leans forward to meet yours and your eyes slide shut. His breath ghosts over your nose, tickling you just a little, and you can feel his lips brush against your skin ever so gently before he pulls away.
“Where else?” He hums, squeezing your hands lightly in his. There’s a distinctively teasing smile playing on his lips. You touch your own in response.
“Here.” You point at your lips. They get cold fast, and in the winter they always get chapped, which you absolutely hate-
Wooyoung’s mouth dips down to meet yours.
You don’t register it for a moment, the taste of spicy ramen lingering on your lips as you ponder the flavour. It’s faint, not quite as strong as earlier, and you mumble against his lips. “You really ate too much ramen, Wooyoung, even your mouth tastes spicy now-”
Then you freeze.
Your eyes fly open in shock at what has just happened, a sharp intake of breath passing your lips. Wooyoung looks temporarily confused for a moment, before he too, realises what he’s just done.
The two of you spring apart, both turning red as tomatoes. You gape at him, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water, your brain short circuiting as if you’ve walked straight into a power generator.
“You kissed-”
“I kissed-”
The two of you fall into utter silence for a moment, merely staring at each other in shock. Wooyoung’s face is as red as a cherry, a rosy red blush spreading across his cheeks and down his neck, mouth sputtering out nonsensical words of its own accord. “You... I... if... kiss... become...girlfriend?”
You shriek and bolt down the path at the last word.
Your short circuited brain can’t take any more.
Wooyoung sighs as he watches you go, shaking his head under his breath. Yes, he has feelings for you. Yes, he has been crushing on you for the last six months. Yes, he has asked you out tonight to enjoy your company because he loved seeing you like that, face bare and hair thrown into a messy bun, completely and utterly real.
But he never intended on kissing you out of the blue!
“I... I just need to apologize to her tomorrow and tell her it was all a mistake.” Wooyoung runs a hand through his hair, teeth worrying his bottom lip anxiously. What if you’re too awkward to look him in the eye after this? He smacks himself in the forehead with a groan.
He’s such an idiot.
Suddenly, he hears the sound of crunching snow and blinks in confusion, raising his head. The second he does, soft, warm lips press against his too, moving so gently he feels all the air leave his lungs in one gasp.
Then all too fast, you pull away and Wooyoung only blinks at you owlishly in shock.
“Your lips were cold too!” You shout in his ears, face burning bright crimson with embarrassment. “See you tomorrow, Wooyoung!”
And then you’re running off again at top speed, nearly slipping on the snowy road and his heart leaps into his chest in a panic. But you catch your balance, slipping and sliding, before disappearing around the corner of the street.
His tongue darts out, sliding across his lips in wonderment.
His first kiss tastes like spicy ramen, iced coffee and best of all...
You.

Oh, that might be an interesting discussion. How many alternate-universe Ocks do you know? And what do you think of each of them?
I know... a lot of them. And while I don’t really know them all well enough to make a good assessment on them over a cursory glance (I made the mistake of trusting Juice Man first of all), I will try to answer this even if it kills me. Here’s some notable ones I’ve met:
Lady Octopus (Amari Octavius) of Earth-777b. A very, very sweet young lady from a sister dimension of my own. I consider her to be like a daughter to me… mostly because in another dimension, she is! To a different version of myself (Doctor Odyssia Octavius of Earth-777b)! Very soft, very passionate about her work, very huggable. She’s wonderful and I’m glad that I met her… now if only I could get my spider in this dimension to break her pact with that fucking angel.. Hm.
Lord Octopus (Xander Reedey) of Earth-77718. A very enthusiastic and interesting young man! I do very much appreciate his passion for both marine biology and the Writhing One, much like my dear Lady Octopus! I consider him to be something like a son to me? Only vaguely since he’s a bit older than Amari. I am excited to see where he uses his magic and intellect!
Dr. October Otto of Earth-2. The odd duck amongst us Ocks. They are the “Doctor Otto” of Earth-2, which according to them, their dimension is ravaged by a strange mind altering disease called Noctis Hectica. Apparently this virus seems to have infected the resident Spider-Woman (now going by Harvester), who has now been experiencing rabies-like symptoms but, they mentioned that unlike rabies, it seems to add some mutations, a considerable increase in strength (especially in her spider powers), and she still seems to retain her intellect (though her behavior has become violent and aggressive). So, what makes Dr. Otto odd? Well, it seems that they’re more… soft hearted than most of us and they seemed to be far too disturbed by us to work with us. It’s a shame, seeing that they’re very intelligent and competent enough to survive their post apocalyptic dimension. Oh well.
Oliver Octavius of Earth-42711a. Ugh.... I’ve talked enough about this man. I don’t care to say more about him so read what I’ve said here. Fuck that guy. Fuck his fake title too. He’s not even a REAL doctor he’s just using the title his dad earned. He’s a Grade-A Fucker who I now see why he has no friends; he irritates them too much.
Dr. Otto Octavius/G-O of Earth-8363. Hmm. Seems polite enough? He was generous enough to share some of samples of some… energy he was studying. So I gave his some haunted shit I’ve gathered as a trade off for him to study. I hope he found those helpful in some way.
Dr. Ottoline Octavius of Earth-196000. An incredibly rancid bitch. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with so much passive aggressive malice. She’s this sterile, robotically polite creep who never ceased to smile or break eye contact. She might appear nice and friendly but make no mistake; that Ock is beyond fucked up even for me. I don’t know what her fucking problem is but I’m like. 90% certain she’s some MK ULTRA experiment or something. It’s not often that I’m disturbed by someone/something these days after playing around with my magic but she definitely hits the top ten as of late.
Dr. Orchid Octavius of Earth-443454. I never thought I’d see a toy Doc Ock but here we are! She was so very small and so very pink… This Ock was a living plush doll of sorts with other doll arms attached to her back… I mention this because quite frankly, this one has to be the weirdest Ock I’ve encountered so far. She’s stupidly adorable though. Though I would worry about her if she had to fight a spider bigger than herself! Maybe she can ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ them?
Dr. Otto Octavius of Earth-99918. Another fairly nice man, though when I first met him, he was drenched in water from the Hudson so I had to get the guy clothes from my aquarium so he didn’t have to sit there like a drowned rat. Though it was strange to see… erm, for lack of a better term, “art style” difference between me and him. Especially when he put on the shirt from my dimension.. It looked like a regular shirt photoshopped onto a hyper realistic man. Terrifying but amusing! One of the many funny quirks of the multiverse..
Dr. Otto Octavius of Earth-61610. A true and charismatic man of science I can very much respect! He’s quite talented with biotechnology and I have to give credit where it’s due: he’s definitely among the smartest of the Ocks, in my opinion. As you’ve probably seen, i have given him great insight into Octopus anatomy and physiology and in turn, he gifted me with a truly fascinating work of evolution (along with a prototype of a new octobot): a real scale off of the feared and revered kaiju, Gojira! Hopefully one day I can see this beauty in person and perhaps get to know this Dr. Octavius and his work better. Unlike Oliver, this man has reason and is not clouded by being petty. He knows exactly what he wants and I admire him for that.

omg congratulations on 300!!! you totally deserve it, i mean honestly your blog is amazing 🎉🎉💘
could i request both star and crystal match ups since i love the both ideas. you don't have to do both, and if you do i think it would be too much if you made one post for both...anywho...
for my crystal match up: i honesty think you know a lot about my personality from my requests at this point but we not gon talk abt that so i am a BIG empath like sometimes i even act like people around me, idk i just observe others and maybe take in what they do. also i love making people happy, like giving them random gifts and them getting surprised and happy abt it and I'm like 🥰🥰🥰💓💓 unfortunately i tend to stress a lot about school and stuff that probably don't even matter, and it might be a problem...and bottling up my emotions is probably not the best coping mechanism...also I'm an ENFP if that helps
for my star match up: I'm a pisces and my self ship would definitely have to be kuroo or atsumu
that's all ly!

𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑡𝑠 🪐
Libra is ruled by Venus (Love) and Pisces is ruled by Jupiter (Luck) and Neptune (Illusions).
These Signs are quite compatible due to the feminine energies of Venus and Neptune working in tandem.
Under Jupiter and Neptune’s rule, Pisces is intensely meditative, philosophical and internal.
Under Venus’s influence, Libra is in love with love. Libra is the Sign of Partnership and always is more comfortable when in an intimate love affair.
𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 🔥💧🍃🌬
Libra is an Air Sign and Pisces is a Water Sign.
These two Signs together combine their heads and their hearts to solve all problems — a winning combination.
The best decisions are made with both the emotions and the intellect; this relationship tends to be extremely flexible and progressive.
When problems occur, however, the communication breaks down between Libra and Pisces. Libra, who can at times be mentally manipulative, may give Pisces ‘the silent treatment.’ In this partnership there’s always an undercurrent of friction but neither partner will ever truly be the leader.
Although they may disagree often, their differences of opinion don’t last long.
Their only real trouble may result from their tendency to slow down to the point of stopping when they get together.
𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑡 🤞
They will not understand each other well enough to share much trust.
The need Libra has to be accepted and liked by other people will be wrongly interpreted by Pisces, for they don’t understand how can someone’s self-confidence be that low.
That sparkly, always in love, childish, flirty nature of Pisces will be a huge turn off for Libra, who will not be able to trust someone who openly shows their interest in other people.
The only way for these partners to remain in a trusting relationship is to approach it casually and build their understanding and trust from zero, as if they have never had any relationships prior to this one.
𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 🤝
In many cases, Libra will cherish the optimism and the childish naïve nature of their Pisces partner.
Unfortunately, they will often want to help them grow and change who they are so they could be “happier”.
The problem here is in the fact that Libra doesn’t know or try to understand what would make Pisces truly happy.
This is some basic disrespect and it could ruin the foundation of their entire relationship.
The main challenge here is to remain in a respectful bond, however crazy Pisces might seem to their Libra partner, or however stiff and boring Libra might seem to Pisces.
Their communication can be inspiring for as long as they don’t try to change each other, explain to each other how they should think or feel in certain situations, or even worse, teach each other how to behave.
Pisces partner can be quite direct and spontaneous and this might endanger the image Libra is trying to maintain in the eyes of others.
If they find each other’s actions inspiring in any possible way, they might reach a point in which they will truly communicate without judgment.
𝐸𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 😠😔😊
Their emotional connection is mostly presented through the adoration of Venus in the sign of Pisces.
This is an everlasting love waiting to happen, and the kind that could be born between these partners in case they both overcome their ego.
It will be a rare occurrence and their rationalities will weigh them down, for Libra does exalt Saturn, and Pisces are ruled by Jupiter.
Their minds will probably be filled with all sorts of irrelevant information until they decide that it is simply too hard for them to be together.
If they pass the point of disrespect and set strong boundaries, nurturing each other’s individuality and self-sufficiency, they might reach the point of emotional interaction.
As if they didn’t have enough challenges, this will usually happen at a different time.
Libra will rush into an emotional showoff, realizing that they have found love, but Pisces will not feel any love until all the dust settles and they have the time to close their eyes and feel.
If their timing is off, they will probably end their relationship on good terms, not expecting much from each other in the future.
𝑉𝑎𝑙𝑢𝑒𝑠 🤲
They will both value love and this is something that will connect them over everything else.
With Venus at focus, they will both need to be loved and cherish those who know how to show it, hot to enjoy life, food ,and how to make their loved ones satisfied.
This could give them a strong foundation for a relationship if they are attracted to each other in the first place.
The rest of their characters will differ greatly and while Libra will value consistency and stability
Pisces will value spontaneity and one’s ability to follow their heart. If they both believe that they have a mission here on Earth, and it happens that their missions cross paths, they could inspire each other to fight for what they value most – their names in the stars.
𝑆ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝐴𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑦𝑠 💪
Indecisive Libra is exactly what their Pisces partner doesn’t need in order not to feel completely lost in life and all of their chosen activities.
The problem here is that by the time Libra decides if they want to do something or not
Pisces will change their minds five times, not sure if this is the best thing for them, for their relationship, for their life’s purpose and mission, etc.
The questioning of Libra will raise suspicions in Pisces with painful ease.
They will manage to find activities they will both like, and if nothing else works they can always turn to any sort of art.
The real question is – will they want to do anything while they are together?
They could drain so much strength and confidence out of each other just trying to make a plan for the night.
𝑆𝑢𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑦 💕
Libra and Pisces have a meeting point in the beauty of Venus.
Still, they perceive it in two different ways and they will often not respect each other enough to find the beauty of Venus in one another.
They could have real trouble adjusting to their partner’s speed, and the mutable quality of Pisces often won’t help them open up any faster to build a relationship in the pace that would fit their Libra partner.
Both Libra and Pisces can selflessly be interested in the satisfaction of their partner, and this should help them stay on the good side of their relationship whatever happens between them.
If they move past the disrespect and the unrealistic expectations from each other’s personalities, they might find that they share real love.

Oracle: GIVE LOVE // HOMEWARD TRAVELLER (21) - Completion, reunion, return // DOLPHIN - Don’t worry, be happy // SELF-RELIANCE - Don’t be afraid to fly solo // OPPORTUNITY // FOCUS // NIGHTINGALE // SWAN
Tumblr media
Darling, I feel like there will be opportunities coming in for you, especially when it comes to something that you really like or adore, or just you have simply been working for it but nothing seems to come to fruition. One thing that I’m strongly seeing is that it could be in regards to the arts, something that taps on your creativity and your originality.
I’m seeing that you might be afraid to take that step forward because this might be something that is not so popular, or not so well-liked among your community. Darling, I do feel that there is no need for you to feel afraid of this, I’m seeing that you are asked to be unique, even if it means standing alone in regards to your decision or choice.
In fact, I see you feeling complete somehow, it might be you getting that opportunity to start on this project or even just you having that opportunity to find like-minded people, to build that new community. And to just feel like being at home in regards to this particular interest that not many people understand and because of this no understanding, it made you feel like you were all alone in this world.
Darling, a new opportunity is coming for you and now it’s time for you to place that focus on yourself, on this interest, whatever it is that you have been working hard for and to just want to gain some kind of recognition by the people around you.
It’s time to step forward and to find a new community that acknowledges this interest of yours, darling, there will be a sense of completion coming for you and just feeling so fulfilled in regards to this particular interest. And darling, give love to yourself and this interest of yours, don’t lose hope because others don’t understand you, trust that you would be able to find like-minded people who will support you!
 Pile 2: Amethyst Crystal
Tarot: 7 of Swords, 7 of Wands, The Magician
Oracle: CLEANSING BODY AND SPIRIT // THE HIDDEN WORLDS (38) - Changing consciousness, awareness, extra-sensory perception // DREAMS - Believe in your dreams // ARCHANGEL GABRIEL - Messenger of creativity and hope // FREEDOM // TRUST // HYENA // SPIDER
Tumblr media
Darling, I feel like this upcoming week, there will be some sort of getting in touch with your higher self, getting in touch with your intuition and just connecting so much better with your angels. I feel like it’s time for you to cleanse out your energy, to bring in more positivity into your life. And by doing so, I truly see that you would be able to manifest the things that you want into your life, because you simply have the tools and the skills and you are just in that positive position to do so.
One message that I am seeing as well is that you are asked to communicate openly and with much honesty with the people around you. I feel like you haven’t exactly been honest with the people around you (especially) about how you truly feel, or what it is that you truly want. It’s like you don’t really trust them in a sense because you just don’t feel like they would be of any help or if they would even understand you. But darling, your social connections are important with honesty present in them, and I just see that this week to come, you are asked to trust these connections that you have formed and forged along the way.
Free yourself from the idea that people  would forever be deceiving you or would not be truthful to you, because if you are constantly in that thought, you wouldn’t be honest and truthful to others as well. So, it’s kind of like an equal give and take, if it’s a connection that you truly want in your life, hold on to it as you convey your most truthful and honest opinions. I’m honestly only hearing truth as well as honesty.
And this enlightenment or just the idea sparking in you about your social connections can come about after you’ve decided to cleanse out negativity and to welcome positivity into your life. Pay attention to your dreams, darling, I feel like your angels and spirit guides have important messages to you in your dreams and this can allow you to better connect with yourself on a higher and spiritual level!
 Pile 3: Goldstone Crystal
Tarot: Page of Pentacles, The Star, Temperance
Oracle: HEALING WATER // SPIRIT OF SPRING (34) - Freedom, action, power // KNOWLEDGE - Seek knowledge // ANGEL OF MIRACLES - Open your heart and expect a miracle // VOYAGE // RELEASE // DOLPHIN // FIRE ANT
Tumblr media
Darling, I feel like this upcoming week is going to be such a healing week for you and honestly, I’m not seeing you just healing, I’m seeing that as you heal, you are manifesting, welcoming happiness, brightness, joyfulness and just so much positivity into your life. I see that you finally know where you stand, if previously you have been through so much in life that you kind of got lost but I see you putting in that effort, that hard work and to just allow yourself to heal from these past hurts.
And this is something that the Universe sees, darling, the Universe saw how much you have put in and now, it’s time for you to receive some sort of miracle. Something that you have always wanted but you just didn’t expect it to come. Take it as a confirmation from the Universe that your hard work is paying off and this tough journey is coming to an end.
In addition, I see that for some of you in this group, there would be some sort of travelling, and I see this more in a sense of gaining knowledge, so it can be in terms of school or work (and even though with the situation now going on in the world), it need not be long-distance travelling, it can just be travelling within your own city, or hometown or country.
It’s like with different restrictions being lifted, you would find yourself wanting to move about more and that as you move around, travel a little, you would gain knowledge from the things that you see, from the places that you visit and the people that you interact with. And I just see this as a start of something new, I see that this gaining of knowledge is only the beginning and that there are definitely more things to come, more things to look forward to.
Darling, this upcoming week, I see you being so happy and just being in your own power, fighting for what you truly want and achieving it. I see that you’ve already healed or you are healing, and just this action alone, is going to bring in so much more for you and this is beautiful!
 Pile 4: Obsidian Crystal
Tarot: Queen of Swords, King of Swords, Queen of Cups
Oracle: FIRE MAGIC // THE LIGHT PRIESTESS (6) - Galactic wisdom, cosmic ritual // ENLIGHTENMENT - Pursue spiritual growth // VACATION - Take time for relaxation and adventure // TAKING RISKS // SIMPLICITY // DRAGON // OWL
Tumblr media
Darling, I’m getting a lot of messages from this pile for some reason so we’ll go through them bit by bit. One thing that I am seeing is that a group of you are heading towards something new, something that you've never tried before but something that you do have strong interest and passion towards. This might involve you taking some risks and having some courage to go forward, but I see that you’ve done your research and I would say you are rather prepared to go forward in this particular project.
And darling, I’m just seeing you being so emotionally fulfilled this week upon taking on this project that you have always been wanting to go forth (but just somehow hesitated because of fear or lack of research and just many other reasons). I feel like you are wise enough to make this decision and no matter how big a risk it is, you are sort of prepared to take it and to just go for it, so darling, this week, don’t hesitate, if it’s something that you truly want and have prepared well for it!
For another group of you, I’m more so seeing that you are asked to take time off, it’s like 2 extreme messages coming in for the same pile. But for this group, I feel like you have already been working hard on something and now, it’s time for you to see the magic work. It’s time for you to simply focus on yourself right now, take a break and just simply allow the situation to unfold itself.
I feel like for this group, it’s time for you to really step back and sometimes, it takes courage to actually step back, you know. Because it’s like you are afraid that things would go haywire once you let go of control, or that things won’t be able to go your way because you are not there to steer it into the right direction.
But I see that you are asked to allow things to unfold naturally, if it ends up in a different direction from where you wanted it to be, it’s going to come as a surprise but it’s going to be something that you might actually welcome. So, why not let the Universe take over the wheel for now, and just allow yourself to relax and to enjoy yourself for this little bit of time before you continue charging ahead.
Now, for a small group of you, I’m seeing a strong love message coming in because I swear I randomly shuffled and picked the cards and we have the Queen of Swords and the King of Swords, so I’m sensing that there might be some sort of interaction with a strong soulmate connection here. Together with the Queen of Cups, there is a lot of loving energy, strong fiery passion that might be coming in for the week ahead as well (but if you are truly interested in love messages, you can check out my other pick-a-card-reading for love)!
 Pile 5: Rose Quartz Crystal
Tarot: 3 of Cups, 4 of Swords, The Lovers
Oracle: LISTENING TO WISDOM // THE SECRET OF CAMELOT (12) - The authority of spirit // COMPETITION - Summon courage and self-confidence // INTUITION - Trust your intuition // NEW BEGINNINGS // THRIVING // ELK // LION
Tumblr media
Darling, one strong message that I am getting is that it’s time for you to trust your intuition, your spirit guides, your angels, and yourself. If there’s something that you’ve been doubtful about because you just feel like it’s not right for you, leave it. If there’s something that you’ve always wanted to go forth but people have been holding you back with all sorts of reasons and hence you hesitated, leave those people behind and just charge ahead.
I see that in this upcoming week, you are asked to take action, you are asked to be courageous, to be fearless and to simply be the king or the queen. Darling, there is something new waiting for you and it’s going to be something that you wanted, or that you’ve prayed for, or even if it’s unexpected, you’re going to love it.
Because I feel like you have been held back by certain people, by certain comments or just fearful of the future and that’s why you are constantly stuck in between needing to make a decision - whether you should move forward or whether you should just let go - and it’s creating a lot of doubt in regards to your own capabilities.
But darling, this upcoming week is really here to encourage you to be fearless, to be courageous, to be strong and just being able to trust in yourself, believe in yourself that you have the power to attain what it is that you truly want.
Darling, this week, only believe in yourself when it comes to your dreams, your hopes and just things that you truly want. Asking for opinions is something that you can do as a mere guidance but at the end of the day, you, yourself, have to make that decision for yourself. Others can give you their opinions but at the end of the day, it’s easy for them to step back and say “hey, you made this choice yourself so you can’t blame me if you missed out an opportunity”.
So, why give others the power to dictate your life, when you yourself can stand up for yourself as long as you choose to believe and trust your own intuition in this particular situation or matter that you truly feel for.

Sonnet 29: A Drastoria Fic
1.5k words, G rated
On a sunny spring afternoon, Draco and Astoria discuss Scorpius’s education, and Draco recites a sonnet.
Inspired by this video of James Howard.
Read it on AO3
*
It’s a blazing spring day. The sun smiles down out of the cerulean sky, and the rose garden is in its brightest bloom. Draco and Astoria stroll hand in hand among the vibrant flowers, Scorpius running ahead of them, shouting about butterflies and bees and his favourite roses.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had that much energy in my life,” Astoria says, as Scorpius darts from bush to bush, barely pausing for a second.
“He certainly exhausts me. I can’t imagine what it’s like for you.”
“Oh, it’s wonderful. Just... overwhelming. I wish I could keep up.”
Draco squeezes her hand. “Me too.”
Astoria watches for a moment as Scorpius stoops down to inspect a daisy in the grass. “We still haven’t decided what we’re doing about school, have we?”
Draco glances at her, but she’s inscrutable. “No, I suppose we haven’t. I assume you have some thoughts?”
“Daphne’s sending her children to a local Muggle school. For a general education, of course. They learn all sorts. Reading and writing, music, geography, Muggle history, even Muggle science. It sounds quite fascinating.”
Draco sniffs. “I’m sure it is...”
“You don’t approve.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to.” Astoria shoots him a little smile, and he rolls his eyes.
“It’s not that I don’t approve... I’m just not sure I like the idea of Scorpius being exposed to-“
“This is going to be a dangerous statement.”
Draco lets go of Astoria’s hand and pokes her gently in the side. “No, it’s not. Be quiet and listen to your husband for a moment.”
“I’ll shut up and let you dig yourself a hole. Go on.” She presses a finger to her lips.
“I’m not digging!”
She raises her eyebrows at him and doesn’t say anything.
He sighs. “All I’m trying to say is that... I don’t like the idea of Scorpius being exposed to a substandard education. Which by no account means that all Muggle education is substandard. On the contrary, I’m sure it’s excellent. But I do read those newspapers you leave lying around, Astoria. Those politicians meddling with Muggle education... It all seems terribly inconsistent, changeable as the wind, and the exams... Imagine taking a curious child like Scorpius and crushing all the joy out of him with all those exams. That’s what I’d be worried about. I mean look at him.”
They both fall silent and watch Scorpius. His attention is focused on one particular flower. When he realises his parents are watching him, he looks up and grins at them.
“There’s a bee!” He points at the flower and peels the petals back, twisting the stem to show them. “Look!”
“He loves the world,” Draco murmurs. “He loves learning. I don’t want him to lose that.”
Astoria twines her fingers with his and leans into him, turning to look up at his face. “That’s not the answer I expected you to give. I’m sorry.”
Draco lifts her hand up and kisses it. “I haven’t earned the benefit of the doubt, don’t worry. It’s something I’m working on.”
“No, you earn it every day. I just forget sometimes.”
Draco bows his head to hide what he’s worried might be a blush. “Anyway... Neither of us went to formal school before Hogwarts and we turned out alright. Eventually.”
“We did. But I think it would be nice for him to meet other children and make some friends. Muggle education experts say social development is very important.”
“We could take him to visit his cousins more often. I like Daphne. She has an excellent wine cellar.”
Astoria snorts and digs her elbow into his ribs. “What’s wrong with our wine cellar?”
“It’s much more fun to drink someone else’s expensive wine. Drinking one’s own can be somewhat painful. In fact, that’s something we could teach Scorpius during his home education.”
“We could... train him to be the world’s youngest Master Sommelier?”
“No. We could teach him the value of graciously accepting other people’s hospitality. Social education, just like your Muggle experts suggest.”
“Somehow, I’m not sure that’s quite what they were thinking of...” She links her arm with his and they set off walking in pursuit of Scorpius, who’s disappearing down the lawn in the distance. “What else would you teach our son, if he were to be educated at home?”
“History, obviously. Languages; we could even start him off with some basic runes. Literature — all the classics.”
“Are we including Muggle classics in this?”
“Such as?”
“Austen. Brontë.”
Draco wrinkles his nose. “Romance novels?”
Astoria pokes him in the side. “What would you have picked?”
“Shakespeare.”
“Says the man who was disparaging romances.”
“At least Shakespeare also wrote a great many tragedies, and history plays.”
“And sonnets, some of the most beautiful romantic poetry ever written.”
Up ahead, Scorpius starts running back towards them, waving his hands in excitement about something.
“Some of the sonnets may be relatable...” Draco admits.
Astoria grins and squeezes his arm. “Such as?”
“Such as... Sonnet 29.” Draco releases Astoria so he can turn to face her properly. He clears his throat. “‘When, in disgrace with fortune and men’s eyes; I all alone beweep my outcast state; And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries; And look upon myself and curse my fate; Desiring this-’ Hang on, that’s wrong. I don’t think I can remember it...”
Astoria smiles. “You skipped a couple of lines. ‘Wishing me like to one more rich in hope; Featured like him-’”
Draco nods and starts reciting again, speaking along with Astoria. “‘Like him with friends possessed; Desiring this man’s art and that man’s scope; With what I most enjoy contented least-’”
“Mummy, Daddy!” Scorpius bounces up to them, waving something in his hand. Astoria puts a finger to her lips and scoops him up into her arms.
“Sshh, Daddy’s reciting a poem for us.”
Scorpius twists round and stares at Draco, wide-eyed, as Draco continues, trying not to be tripped up by the fact that his audience has suddenly doubled in size.
“‘Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising; Haply I think on thee.’” He reaches out and taps Scorpius on the nose. Scorpius giggles and goes cross-eyed as he follows Draco’s finger. When Draco pulls hand back, he clamps his own hand over his nose, still grinning. Draco smiles as he carries on.
“‘And then my state, (Like to the lark at break of day arising from sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven’s gate; For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings; That then I scorn to change my state with kings.’”
When Draco finishes, Astoria taps her fingers on Scorpius’s back in applause, and Scorpius cheers. Draco gives them a small bow.
“Thank you, thank you. I’m stunned I remembered that.”
“It was pretty,” Scorpius says. “What‘s it mean?”
“It’s about love,” Draco replies, shooting Astoria a smile. “And hardship. And redemption, I suppose. Very relatable.”
“It was written by Shakespeare.” Astoria brushes her fingers through Scorpius’s hair. “He was a famous writer. Your daddy and I might be going to teach you about him, along with lots of other things, so you’ll know lots and lots before you go to Hogwarts.”
“Oh...” Scorpius breathes in wonder. “I want to learn about everything.”
“Exactly.” Astoria kisses him on the forehead. “Now, what did you want to show us?”
Scorpius waves his hands down the garden. “There’s an amazing flower! I don’t know what it is. You need to tell me. I’ll show you.” He wriggles his way out of Astoria’s arms and tears away across the grass.
Astoria sighs and wraps an arm round Draco. “I don’t think you could constrain that in a classroom even if you tried...”
Draco shakes his head. “No. I’d pity the poor teacher that had to try. Although I suppose that’ll be us...”
Astoria laughs. “You might come to regret trying to home school him.”
“I don’t think so. I don’t think I could ever regret anything when it comes to him.”
Astoria leans her head briefly on his shoulder. “You should consider reciting sonnets more often, you know. I could get used to it. You have a nice voice for them.”
Draco gives her a squeeze. “For you, I could consider becoming a hopeless romantic.”
“Shame, I thought you already were.”
Draco laughs. “We’ll see. Now, I suppose we should hurry up and find out what our adorable bundle of exhaustion wants to show us.”
“I bet it’s not a flower. I bet it’s another toadstool.”
“Basic Herbology. We should add that to the list of things to teach him.”
“Definitely... He has the whole world to explore.”
“But the best people to show it to him, even if I do say so myself.”
“Mmm.” Astoria pauses in her stride so she can lean up and kiss him. “Even if you do say so yourself.”
They wrap their arms around each other and fall into an awkward, lopsided stride as they wander happily through the sun drenched rose garden, following the sound of Scorpius’s distant laughter.
