One of my favorite parallels for Marinette and Adrien had to do with their body movements and expressions.

Adrien is a model so everything about his physical appearance, his posture and facial expressions, and he's just always modeling at all times.

In this scene, he's asking if he can see Marinette and yet he's so stiff as he does it. These are all modeling stances.

But on the other hand, Marinette is a very expressive person. In any moment, her face can go through such drastic changes in just seconds.

Also, in any situation, casual or not, she'll move her body so much with how she talks.

There's not a lot of scene or moments when she's standing still. She's always moving in one form or another.

Another part that I love about this is shunned in young girls. Too many girls grow up being told that you shouldn't emote like this to avoid wrinkles but Marinette is allowed to freely do this without shame.

what is your opinion on the situation?

I've been at work all day so I haven't been able to sit down with stuff fully, it also seems like Caiti is planning to release a statement later today with more information I think? So I'd like to get her response there, but based on what I've seen so far I think I fall more on the side of "people made some dumb choices and should learn from them" than anything else.

Consent is messy and it gets messier when people start lying or are drunk. In this case, both Caiti and George were drunk. From what I understand, either Caiti had a 21+ wristband from the vidcon party, or her friend group did and assumed since she was drinking with them, she was also 21+.

Honestly, when it comes to the matter of underage drinking, I don't think it's even remotely fair to place blame on Dream/George for that. The blame there lies with Caiti deciding to drink while under 21, and on her friends, Ghostie and the other person present who were both over 21. Unlike Dream/George, both of them knew Caiti and knew exactly how old she was and were letting her drink. They were also letting her drink with no one sober and no one making sure she got home.

Now, Caiti is 18 and also I'm not a goddamn square, I'm not gonna stand here and be like "oh no drinking at 18 clutch my pearls" but like, if people are going to blame other people for that situation, that very much lies with Caiti's friends who knew they had an underage person drinking with them. I feel like people are weirdly assigning blame to Dream/George for not like, iding every person they hang out with (particularly if she had a 21+ bracelet at vidcon, which would mean she already got IDed). While completely avoiding placing any blame on the people who 100% knew they were taking an 18 year old drinking without a doubt.

Putting that aside, from my understanding George's side is he believed at the time that she was having fun, and the most they did was cuddle on a couch with other people there. He believed at the time that everything was cool, and that she later decided she was uncomfortable with what happened.

Honestly, I don't really think that's an unfair reading. At this same party, her best friend was there and from Ghostie's own words, she also didn't realize Caiti was uncomfortable until several months later when Caiti told her. If her best friend didn't notice she was uncomfortable or see anything wrong, then I find it hard to think anyone else would pick up on it.

There's certainly risks taken here that I wouldn't have taken. I think that George needs to do better with checking for consent and maybe vetting the people you're hanging out with. Although I also understand that doing a full background check on everyone you ever meet is an absurd requirement and if, at the time, they trusted the person that they actually invited, I get how that shit happens. Per consent, given that he was also drunk, I get how it may've appeared to him that he had consent. I do think it's still something to work on, but I'm also perfectly aware that in real life, people are often going off vibes and social cues, and sometimes those don't mash.

I also think that Caiti's friends have been pretty shitty throughout this. They take no responsibility for having let an 18 year old drink and then ditching her. They are absolutely milking drama out of this shit and they have a weird obsession with blaming Dream for shit he had no fault in.

As for Dream, I don't think he did anything wrong here. Full stop. If Caiti's best friend didn't notice that she was uncomfortable or unhappy, it's insanely unreasonable to expect Dream to have managed that. He was also drunk and hanging out with people, and he had no way of knowing Caiti was underage. None of that shit was his fault, and his statement seems very measured and reasonable. People are trying to blame him for things that he had absolutely no part in, and the UK group are absolutely trying to pull that shit.

Overall, sounds like several people involved made dumb choices, I hope they learn and grow. Otherwise all of this honestly sounds like shit that should've been talked out privately and not tossed to the internet for speculation. Human beings are messy and will fuck up sometimes. This feels like a case of miscommunication and people making risky choices that left people with some hurt.

Again, I may change my mind with further evidence presented, but that's how it feels to me.

how do you handle genetics if you do at all in your art

Great question! I'm actually quite the cats genetics nerd and typically when I design my own cat ocs, I go for accurate, realistic genetics. Genetics in ClanGen don't _quiiite_ work that way though, and since I like staying pretty close to the in game sprite's patterns, I'm forced to do the genetics for SporeClan with body/fur shape only.

Since we don't have any SporeClan cats with two in game generated parents as of yet, I made a brand new clan and picked a family from there! I usually try to take a mix of traits from both parents, or go somewhere in between. These two parents here are pretty different, so combined with their already wildly different coat patterns, the siblings look pretty different from eachother. I hope you can still see what I'm trying to portray, though!

One of my FAVOURITE things to do when designing families is giving some of them a unique trait, like the fully pink nose Aphidpeak has passed on to Bubblingspeck, or the full back stripe that both Softrock and Jellyfishfeather inherited from Cypressplume. Also, when cats have parents that are agouti(ticked)/bengal but doesn't inherit the pattern, I still like to include things like the dark feet. I also do this sometimes with white spotting, such as the rings on Softrock's tail.

LASTLY, I do sometimes mess with how I portray the patterning.

Usually when I draw most patterns, I'll draw their underbelly colours with my regular brush, giving them harder lines. But with Softrock, I opted to airbrush in her lighter underbelly, a thing I usually only do with agouti cats, as a nod to her parents. I'll also often mess with just how much the lighter colour goes up (for example, Mousegrove and all her kits have a high amount of the lighter colour, while Dawnpelt and Minklake have barely any)

Anyways, I think that's all.... it's all I can come up with for now, at least :') Hope my ramblings are at least somewhat coherent!

I'm trying my best to let go of my crippling perfectionism, so although I probably could have spent many more hours nitpicking, I cut myself off and am happy with the results!

Literally no-one in Plague Doctor dresses normally. Altan wears only tight clothing, while Mark can’t keep a shirt decently buttoned up for the life of him (literally!), Poet wears whatever he thinks would be pathetic enough for Chrysalis to notice him, while Chrysalis only wears jumpsuits. Christina wears exclusively goth things that have been out of fashion for a century, and don’t get me started on “novelty wolf shirt” Oleg and his boyfriend, Sergey, who only wears orange and purple (with glitter!)

Little fun series of drawing the fellas wearing clothes I’ve made for myself/made for my Elfilin plushie/wore one time to match my Elfilin plushie. Played around with style a bit both intentionally and unintentionally (the painting brush I used for the bee shirt one was scuffed cause while I was working on the lineart my laptop stopped working so I had to load all my stuff on a flash drive and go back to using my old laptop and I hadn’t grabbed my current brush settings yet; it has been repaired under warranty and is on its way back though so it’s all good) and overall it was kind of a struggle but like, a fun struggle.

Anyway, I think that’s my current idea backlog run dry barring a couple pieces (and finishing that one Oh No! Magolor pmv I gueeessss) so in the meantime like, send me Touhou characters to doodle and I might get around to them sometime?? I’ve been trying to familiarize myself with 16-19 since they came out after I had largely stopped paying attention to the series

Just hit lvl 14 and speedrunning romancing Preston by doing a bunch of Minuteman stuff right off the bat and being relentlessly helpful and nice to people. Idk how it decides when you hit the various affinity levels but I got the "Preston admires you" notification when we were in the Goodneighbor jazz club watching Magnolia sing. He gave me his little speech while she sang in the background, very romantic. and she finished the song just a few seconds afterwards. It was like a scripted movie scene or sth.

I got the "you're one of the good guys" speech that gives you an opening to flirt after we got back to Sanctuary and were chilling in the workshop house (I think of the workshop house as a community center for the citizens of Sanctuary, they do love to hang around in the house and on the porch.) the flirt landed so I'm quite optimistic about my prospects. I want to level up before I go collect Cait, rescue Nick, and do a couple Goodneighbor-centric quests, so I hope I can land my boy before I attach Cait and send him home to rest up.

Look I hate Nintendo as much as the next guy but the (maybe) oncoming legal action against Palworld kinda has some merit. There's a lot of original designs in the game, but there's also lots that very blatantly use parts of the models that are used in modern Pokemon games, and allegedly there's also some designs that are just fanart taken without permission.

Like from what I've seen the people deep in the discourse trenches are using both the "The designs are NOTHING alike!" and the "It's a parody, it's SUPPOSED to be a rip-off!" arguments interchangeably and it's like- No. No, you can't use both of those at once, they're paradoxical.

Either you believe Palworld is just another mon game, and just like every other mon game, there's some design elements that are inevitably going to repeat, in which case we'll have to wait and see what happens, or you agree that Palworld is plagiarizing and you're okay with it, in which case you can't really complain when a lawsuit hits.
