howdy! i’m dropping into your ask box because i sort of remember 3rd life too!!! too scared to reblog the chain of posts and let everyone know who i am so i’m doing this anon lol TvT

anyways- I remember seeing that same clip you posted sometime years ago- It really intrigued me but I could never find more on it. Almost like it never existed. When I found your post I honestly had to double take for a few minutes- I had almost started thinking I had dreamed it lol

I wasn’t born when the series was released so I asked my parents about it and my dad thought he might’ve owned it at one point? but he threw it out because the end episodes were filled with glitches and he thought the disk was bad or something. I dunno. He wasn’t entirely certain. I looked on Amazon to try and find a disk for it but I couldn’t find anything- I even tried for Last Life! I might try looking through some other websites later, i’d really like to watch them! I’m curious to see what this hunger games like show has to offer :)

it's like. the more I think about it the more creepy I'm making it in my head. I was soo so terrified of those last two episodes but especially the very last one you have no idea. Again I'm sure it wasn't all that bad (I also got scared by like. the plants vs zombies game over screen. lmao) but I think it's the mystery of it that's messing with me. You know that creepypasta candle cove and the part about the screaming episode? same vibes as that.

I was a 11 yo weeb in the 2000s - early 2010s where everything had “baka” or “kawaii” or “sugoi”, etc. The name bakapandy stuck from way back then and has become a bit of a brand and changing it is just too much effort.

Do you take commissions or requests?

Currently, no. Since I have limited time to draw because of school, I’d prefer to spend it drawing something that I want to draw. I do read suggestions and ideas if they end up in my inbox but I can not promise that I will draw it.

I’m self-taught. Lots and lots of admiring other people’s work and practicing a ton.

I’ve loved to draw all my life, but I got invested when I was about 10 when I truly dedicated time and effort into improving. So I guess it’s going on 17 years now.

In case you couldn’t tell from my art content, I love the Sand-Nara family. Gaara has always been my favorite since I was in middle school.

Rereading some MC fics and I'm about to go ass backwards into a Supernaturalcity phase (LMAO) so,,,my actual ask lol, do you have any random AU facts? or just any random little sketches for when you were making Werewolves of Detroit n such (especially w/ Harley >;D)?

Hmmm.  It’s been a long-ass time since I wrote Werewolves of Detroit--I’m not sure if you’re asking about actual art sketches or bits and pieces of story--most of either that I did ended up in the fic itself, haha.  Or: they’re unpublishable due to being.....inappropriate.  u>///> Uh let’s see.

There were definitely a few little bits and pieces I wrote about some of the Raymanthians organizing little tourneys to get bitten by their vampire king because they heard it felt super cool, and Chuck being very flustered about it.

Alex Harley is a siren, in a supernatural universe, although ofc since he’s Deluxe born and raised he’s very self-conscious about it and wears an illusion over his fishier aspects

I was considering putting in a little section about werewolf!Mike going out to dig through trash and scrap as a wolf and then getting some kind of junkyard turbo fleas, but it never really fit into the series of stories I had, so I never did it lol

I considered doing some noodling about the Duke, and how he’s put enough gold and jewelry on his wings he can’t actually fly, and how if you looked closely you might note that he’s definitely had a wing fucked up before and is using flash and glitter to hide the fact-- and simultaneously make it look like “oh no i COULD have flown if I wanted, but I just prioritize looking flashy as fuck, this is a choice and not a weakness”

If I was carrying the fic further into its own story instead of a series of little snippets exploring the general timeline of canon and closely-related worldbuilding, I think I would have explored Julie getting found out as a witch, and being terrified, and her dad immediately being like “It’s alright Julie-bear, tell me who else knows, I’ll ruin them, they’ll never tell anybody, nobody will ever know you’ve been afflicted with this” etc etc etc, treating it like some shameful secret that she obviously wants him to make disappear for her.  TuT  Julie: “well he didn’t find out I’m a burner, but this is Very Bad For My Emotions! 8,)”

Red in this universe is a vengeful spirit with poltergeisting tendencies ie he tends to show up and throw things and people against and through walls--I wish I’d thought to include him, but don’t want to edit the fic now that it’s been posted.  I like the running theme of Texas trying to fight Red and getting his ass kicked way more if it’s because Texas is a normal human dude who’s like WHO YOU GONNA CALL?!?!?  TEXAAAASSSSS!!!! and just tries to punch a ghost lmao

I don’t think I adequately expressed that Dutch being fae fills him with Ethereal Glamorous Beauty even more than usual lol, tbh he’s the Hot Burner and tends to make people walk into walls.

Needs more Claire.  Everything needs more Claire, but there was definitely potential for the Claire+Foxy+Julie arc to be in there, except I couldn’t figure out what Foxy and the Amazons would be.  Sphinxes, perhaps.  They’re a heavy theme in their base in the original show, they’re generally female in mythology, and they eat people who don’t pass their tests.....  I like that actually, nice.

Anyway Claire getting more screen time to express her feelings about how she’s been altered physically and has altered herself mentally/emotionally in an attempt to reconcile the things she’s lost as a vampire.......definitely there was some more meat on that bone. TuT  Claire.....................

More stuff of the Duke’s No.2  being a vampire juiced up on slow acclimatization to dragon blood--I feel like there has to be a consequence to being ABLE to drink it, namely that if your body’s that used to something so intense and potentially harmful you probably are then physically dependent on it.  IDK how that would come about as a plot point unless I did a whole story with its own Duke-related plot, but it’s very intriguing to me.

If I’d been willing to go like .2 inches darker, Deluxe would have included mandatory surgery to perforate the webs of vampires’ wings very early on, or clip the feathers of any more feathery winged people--tbh there’s no reason Kane wouldn’t force them to bring their wings out specifically to make them useless and then be like “there now you don’t have to get them amputated instead, you’re welcome.”

It’s not related to Werewolves of Detroit itself but I’ve definitely been thinking about fallen angel!Mike recently after the very cool haloed Mike I reblogged a while ago.  Gotta do some art for that at some point

I came to the realization as I answered a different ask recently that Thurman is the world’s most low-key dragon and I dearly wish I’d figured that out as I wrote because it tickles me IMMENSELY.

So......I saw a bunch of reblogs of Jenna Coleman in period clothing on my dash & immediately thought @fictionxlover is at it again but then I looked properly at the post & was shocked it’s you lmao

Lol. I feel like I should explain.

So I recently got a month’s free trial of Britbox over here, and while the catalogue is lacking the stuff I wanted to watch (that’s on US Britbox), I got it regardless to watch some stuff on it and it recommended me ITV’s 2012 miniseries of Titanic, which I haven’t watched since it originally aired back in 2012.

Now all I ever really remembered from the series apart from the Titanic sinking becuase its the Titanic, was that the miniseries had a high budget, high production, Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame and high expectations which it didn’t live up to ratings and critically wise. But also all I ever remembered all these years was Jenna and Glen’s storyline as Annie and Paolo.

Like this was back when Jenna was Jenna-Louise Coleman and the only thing I had seen her in was her short stint as a student in Waterloo Road, I think that was in 2009? 2010?

So anyway, for the nostalgia for Annie and Paolo and how much I loved them in a short time, and also cause I watched a Laurence Fishburne documentary about the behind the scenes of the Titanic (which made me mad at people).

And I decided that when I was gonna watch this I wasn’t gonna get attached because I know what happens to Annie and Paolo (especially Paolo) and I’m like, I’m older now. I’m not gonna cry.

Wrong!

So 14 year old me only cried once, and that was when Spoiler! A lifeboat picks up Paolo and by the time it goes back to the other lifeboats where Annie is, she realises he’s dead and is like “We we’re gonna get married. I hope he knew that. I hope he knew I loved him”.

2021 me was getting chills in episodes 1 and 2, emotional in episode 3, which had most of the Annie/Paolo scenes so it was just the knowledge. And episode 4, I was a wreck. And this time I was crying over different storylines.

So three times I broke down in the episode.

1) When The Irish dad from Steerage manages to find his little girl (she jumped off a lifeboat onto the ship and left her mother and siblings because she’s afraid of the water and the lifeboat splitting) and he tries to open the gate to go up the stairs because he found her by a stairwell, but he can’t. So he’s like here’s what we are going to do. We are gonna sit here and hug and she’s like what about the water, and he’s like don’t worry about the water.

It was just that moment he realised that he can’t get his daughter out. Cause with him being a man, he probably thought there was a good chance he wouldn’t make it but wanted to make sure his fam did. But the realisation his daughter can’t be saved...I mean I don’t know why he couldn’t get out the way he came from but it was still sad.

2) Barnes/Watson. So they are the servants of a first class family. And Barnes has this affection for Watson, it’s like a playground pull her pigtails kind of affection. And it’s how made sure to find her and save her then gave her and letter of his appreciation. And we don’t see his body, the last we see of him is when the Titanic starts sinking and a lot we’re trying to hold on the collapsible that they wasn’t about to turn in time. But we never see him again but we get Watson reading his letter on the lifeboat where it’s revealed to contain his Will which had been witnessed by two passengers and he’s pretty much given everything to her (not much) and that there’s a small cottage for her father to live in and all he asks is that she thinks of him sometimes.

3) Then as you can guess, anytime Paolo appears and then when Annie finds Paolo and it’s too late. Also his brother Mario survives and I loved the brief relationship we see of the Sandrini brothers but Mario didn’t have a subplot, not like Paolo.

I would watch a spin-off around Annie and Paolo where a Londoner and Italian immigrate to America in the early 20th century, trying to make it big and start a new life. They were both such innocent characters, Paolo with his big dreams, wanting a better life while Annie doesn’t have dreams and is content with what she has and makes the best of a situation.

The miniseries as a whole, isn’t the best telling of the Titanic. There are too many characters and subplots going on and it’s all brief. Plus because it’s a Fellowes piece you have Class issue. Like the problem was the First Class stuff was the weakest stuff and that opened the series. The lowest class stuff (The workers, officers, the Irish family and servants of first class) was more interesting.

Also it was how Fellowes decided to tell the story. So the first three episodes tell the same days (From boarding the ship to hitting the iceberg) but from different perspectives, so the first episode focuses on the First class, the second episode is more Second Class (and a bit of steerage) then the third episode is more Steerage.

So because of this method of storytelling to try and be fresh, it kind of doesn’t work because everything is rushed. Because everyone only gets one episode with significant develop and it takes across 4-5 days and it just feels rushed whereas it could have been paced more across the 4 episodes. Like I would have liked more Annie/Paolo. And they don’t feel rushed even though they meet and Paolo proposes cause you feel like he’s an innocent, naive character, like he feels like he knows she is right for him and doesn’t want to waste time. Then Barnes/Watson they have that backstory and is more what’s between the lines with them. But then you have this romance storyline between the fictional Georgiana and the real life Harry Widener and it falls flat and feels rushed as they are sharing love declarations so quickly. While the subplot with the Steerage Irish wife being so cold to this man in Steerage then later on it’s revealed that it’s because she and him have an attraction and feelings and kiss, it feels very left field and I felt zero chemistry. Plus he turns out to be a cop killer on Wanted posters.

Like for that kind of storytelling with only 4 episodes, there are too many characters to follow. Like it would have probably been better to tell the story with every episode covering a day on the Titanic.

I will say this it did feel a bit more real rewatching that I do watching the James Cameron film in recent times. Cause the 1997 film is kinda lost in the epic romance of Jack and Kate and a lot of fictional characters. But the miniseries, I think the romance and drama is more subdued, the only one that felt a bit off for me was the serial killer and wife of an Irish fam falling in love/being attracted to each other. Like the scenes were they try to get passengers off the titanic and the political power plays, the mistakes made by the Titanic crew in dealing with the disaster as well as preparing for its maiden voyage, and the moment the ship starts to go down the water starts hitting the deck, it felt a bit more realistic and less spectacle than the Cameron film.

And I haven’t rewatched Titanic the film recently but I liked how they addressed the actions of some of the real life people like Ismay jumping on a lifeboat last minute to save himself. Molly Brown and the women taking charge of a lifeboat and turning back for more survivors, Lightoller getting passengers on the boat and trying to get women and children first, and also the mistakes made with the first boat not being full. Him being afraid boats might split. Then when the ship sank the men holding on and climbing on top the overturned collapsible. Jack Thayer and this other guy agreeing to jump and swim to a boat as soon as it starts to sink. And then the Duff-Gordon’s (I believe that’s there name) deciding not to go back to look for more survivors and bribing the sailor and all the people on their half-empty lifeboat with £5 each if they don’t go back. The only one I wasn’t big on was Harry Widener’s rushed romance with a fictional character.

Anyway I’ve gone off. I mentioned to Autymn that I started rewatching it and I think she’s never seen it or heard of it despite claiming to be a period hoe and a Jenna stan. I think after episode 2 I was telling her a bit more about my nostalgia for Annie and Paolo or Desdrini as I’m coining it now (It’s either that or Pannie or Sandmond), and how I know it’s not gonna end well. Then by episode 3 I was recapping why was going on cause she lost it at the serial killer cop killer reveal with one of the characters, and then I was wondering if their was gifs, clips or pics on Tumblr because I wanted to explain how cute they were and how pure Paolo was and how he was too innocent to die. And off I went into the rabbit hole sending them to her and also reblogging it.

Now I’ve gone down that rabbit hole, while it’s great to see Jenna thriving in British TV dramas in more leading roles now and not supporting. I can’t watch anything of Glen’s cause most of his stuff is Italian and not on Netflix etc and a lot of his TV roles are more recurring or guest roles. Not much leading etc. Who knows, maybe if the show was a bigger success, more opportunities might have come out of it.

The sounds of trains and people rushing around filled your ears, the usual black and white colors flooding your vision. You held your bag close to you to avoid any pick pocketers walking around. You walked to the closest bench by platform three and waited. 

Today was the day you were going to meet your new co-worker. You were a trained medical assistant and you were sent by the Ministry of Magic to assist a man by the name of Newt Scamander. Reports told you that he was a researcher of magical animals, and he needed your help in case he ever got hurt. You’d never been in a situation where you’ve had to help a magizoologist before, heck, you’ve never even met one, but you were excited to start a new adventure. 

“Miss, excuse me, are you Miss Y/n?”

You looked up to see the most beautiful green eyes you could see. Your eyes widened, and looking around you started to see colors you would have never imagined to exist. A large grin settled upon your face and you couldn’t help but squeal and stand up from your seat. 

Everything looked so beautiful.

You looked back at the man standing in front of you. He had a long blue coat on and he was holding a worn out suitcase in his right hand. His eyebrows were furrowed in confusion, but he had a soft smile on his face. Freckles dotted his nose and cheeks, giving him a cute appearance. He had reddish brown, curly hair tousled on top of his head. Oh good God, could it be?

This was your soulmate!

“Miss, are you alright? Is there something wrong?”

Now it was your turn to be confused. Could he not see the colors too? No, that couldn’t be possible... Right?

Your smile slowly started to fade. “Y-yes, I’m Y/n. What’s your name?” 

“Newt Scamander. I believe you must be assisting me on my trips.” He held out his hand for you to shake. You took it, immediately feeling a spark when your skin touched. Surprised, you jolted a little bit before slowly shaking his hand and letting go.

“I’m sorry if I seem a little jumpy, I-I... Do you not see it too?” You slowly looked up to his face once again to see a confused expression on his face. 

That proved your suspicions right, then. He couldn’t see the colors.

“See what? Did one of my animals escape again?” Newt quickly looked down and checked the lock on his suitcase. He saw that it was closed shut, but just to be sure he turned around, surveying the area. 

You took this time to look down again. Tears began to fill your eyes. This man was supposed to be the love of your life, your soulmate, and here he was - unable to see the same colors as you.

It’s been a year and a half since you’ve met Newt. As of now, you were helping him research animals for his new book. Sure, it was hard knowing that he couldn’t see the same as you when you were around, but there was that small sliver of hope that still remained in your brain. Maybe it would just take him time to realize that you were supposed to be his soulmate? After all, there’s no way you couldn’t be.

Right?

As of now, you were in Newt’s case, sitting at his desk and editing his book. It was coming along well. There was still much research to be done, and Newt still had to write about some other animals, but you really felt like the book was coming to a positive end. You just hoped that you could continue traveling with Newt once his book was finished. You cherished the friendship you had with him, even if he didn’t think of you as a lover.

Meanwhile, Newt was keeping the case on top of his lap. The both of you had decided that it’d be best to board a ship to New York for your next adventure, and now it was really happening. Newt recommended that you stay in the case to keep the animals calm, and also so that he wouldn’t have to pay for another ticket. Props of having a magical case people can fit in. 

Once the ship had arrived in New York, Newt walked off the boat and went through customs. There were many other things that had happened, but Newt had refused to tell you of the events. As of now, the both of you were stuck in an apartment with two sisters. One was named Tina, and the other was named Queenie. Tina seemed to be quite nice, and so was Queenie. Newt had pulled you out of the case to introduce you to the both of them, and you learned that Queenie was a legilimens and Tina worked at MACUSA. There was also another person there, a man named Jacob. Newt told you that Jacob was just someone he met, which sounded quite suspicious, since Newt wasn’t the one to go up to strangers and talk to them. To be honest, all of this seemed suspicious.

Not only had the two of you been thrown in a strange situation, but Newt had been acting quite weird since he pulled you out of the case. You were both sitting on the couch, waiting as the Goldstein sisters prepared something to eat. When you asked Newt questions, his answers would always come out clipped and short. Not to mention, when he had introduced you to that Tina girl, he had been fidgeting so much you thought something was wrong. However, Newt wouldn’t answer any of your questions, leaving you annoyed and tired.

Queenie called for Newt and you to come sit at the dinner table to eat. Jacob had already been sitting there, fork and knife in his hands, ready to eat the delectable food. Newt sat down next to Jacob, while you sat next to him at the head of the table. Tina sat in front of Newt, while Queenie sat in front of Jacob.

You all began to dig in, except for Newt and Tina, who had been staring at each other ever since they sat down.

“Are you guys ok?” you asked.

Newt didn’t break his gaze from Tina. “W-we... Tina, can you...?”

Tina smiled and shyly looked down before bringing her head back up again. 

“I think you’re my soulmate Newt.”

No. 

This can’t... That’s not what was supposed to happen! He was supposed to be mine... mine.

Tears started to cloud your vision. You immediately dropped the silverware you had been holding, your appetite completely gone. The chair you had been sitting on screeched as you pushed back and ran out of the apartment. 

This wasn’t what was supposed to happen.

You continued running out of the complex, tears streaming down your face. After all this time, he wasn’t even yours to begin with. All that time wasted, hoping that he’d realize he was yours and you were his. Thoughts of having a family together, dreams of being able to travel and grow old together, all gone down the drain. 

Numb.That was all you felt as you kept running out on the streets, not even knowing where you were going. You bumped into numerous people, yet you kept on running. Once you started to run out of breath, you slowed down and walked into an alleyway, leaning against a wall and sliding down it. You fisted your hair and cried. It felt like your heart was broken in a million pieces.

What’s the point anymore? You’ve loved him for such a long time, only to have you feelings thrown away for a mistake made by the gods. What a tragedy, knowing that those beautiful colors you only saw around him was a mistake. What a waste of time and energy.

What a goddamn waste. 

Back in the apartment, everyone was staring at the chair you had last sat in. Jacob slowly started to begin eating again while attempting to start up conversation with Queenie. Tina was looking at Newt, analyzing his confused facial expression.

“Newt? Is your friend... ok?” Tina reached over the table to hold onto Newt’s hand. Newt looked down for a little bit, before shrugging off her hand and standing up from his chair. 

He rushed over to the coat hanger and grabbed his blue coat, wrapping it around himself. “I have to go find her.”

Queenie abruptly stood up from her chair, causing it to shriek loudly. “No, Newt you can’t.” She knew what you were going through, and she also knew that you needed time to think.

“Excuse me, I’m sorry Queenie but I have to go. I don’t want her to get hurt.” Newt grabbed his suitcase and began to make his way to the door. Queenie rushed towards him and grabbed onto his arm, stopping him from advancing any further.

“Newt, she needs time to think. I know you’re close friends, but I think It’d be best if we leave her be.”

He shrugged off her hand and looked up at her. There was a long pause, before he remembered that she was a leglimens, meaning she knew why you had left.

“Queenie... Why did she leave?”

Queenie immediately took a step back at that question. “Newt, no. Don’t ask me that. Please don’t try to use my ability to gain access to another person’s feelings. You need to talk to her on your own.” She then turned away and started to walk back to the kitchen. Newt ran his hand through his hair in stress and set down his suitcase. He proceeded to take off his coat and hang it back up.

“Queenie I’m sorry. I should’ve never asked you that, it was impolite. You’re right. I’ll just wait until she comes back.” Newt took a seat on the couch and hunched over his knees. He was extremely worried about you, and he was confused as to why you had left so abruptly. 

Tina walked over to Newt and sat down next to him. She began to rub small circles into his back, assuring him that everything would be ok. 

But for you, everything was so far from ok
