Tfp Autobots Encountering the Mind-Control Cell Phones from Rescue Bots

(Because it canonically exists in the Alligned continuity, and I'm abusing that knowledge to torment my favorite little meow meows)

I've been wanting to write these headcanons. Might do Decepticons next.

Context for if you haven't seen the Rescue Bots episode "Spell Bound": A human named Madeline Pynch creates mind-control phones that hypnotize both humans and Cybertronians to dig up Blossom Vale (part of Griffin Rock)

Optimus Prime:

-He's the only one who's immune to the phones' power

-Lucky for him, the Matrix of Leadership can protect him from that kind of influence

-Because of that, he'd be the first to discover something isn't right with the humans, and eventually the other Bots when they'd start acting strange.

-He'd notice they're groundbridging to Griffin Rock with no explanation, and that they keep saying the phrase: "The project is the priority."

-Plus, their voices. Sure, they sound normal on the surface, but Optimus is very perceptive, and would pick up on the slight lack of emotion, and artificial tone when they speak.

-Throughout this mess, Optimus mainly confides in Ratchet

"What is going on?" Ratchet would muse, almost awestruck by the strange behavior of the others.

"I am unsure," Optimus would reply. "But I believe something is deeply amiss, old friend."

-Both of them would be struggling to uncover what this mysterious "project" is, and why the other Bots and humans have suddenly become so obsessed with it.

Arcee:

-She's the first Bot that falls under the spell; Jack's the first human to fall under, and he'd infect her

-Jack's responsible, empathetic personality works against him when he finds a golden cellphone abandoned at school.

"Someone must've lost this." He'd say. "I'd...better return it, right? I mean...I'd hate for someone to be freaking out, wondering where their phone is."

"I think they'll be fine without their phone for a couple of hours," Arcee would quip. "Come on, it's go-time. We've gotta get back to base."

-Then it rings

"I'd...better get that." Jack would say.

Arcee would playfully role her eyes and smile. "Alright. We'll go back after you've done your good deed for the day. But make it quick."

-Upon answering the call, Jack's whole body suddenly goes rigid. "The project is the priority."

"Uhh...Jack...?" Arcee would press, nervous about her partner's abrupt shift in demeanor.

-Arcee would vent to Bulkhead. "Something's seriously wrong with Jack," and beg Ratchet for help. "Ratchet, come on. He's gotta be...I don't know, sick, or something, right? He's not acting...human."

-But soon, Jack would attach a phone to her in vehicle mode, and she'd be sucked in as well.

-Arcee's mind control would be subtle. She's naturally stoic, after all. The others might mistake her drone-like behavior for her usual closed-off personality, even when Optimus asks her to go on a mission, and she flatly replies: "...Can't..." Perhaps she's just having a rough day thinking about her lost partners. But suspicions rise when she and Jack disappear to Griffin Rock.

-Even in trance, Arcee maintains her stealth and agility, making her a formidable opponent.

Bulkhead:

-He'd get infected by his human charge, just like Arcee.

-Miko is SUPER suspicious of Jack's strange, zombie-like behavior, so she tracks him down and calls him out on it. She'd assume it's the work of Decepticons.

"Yeah, ok, Jack. You think you can fool me. Come on, dude! You're acting like Megatron barbecued your brain! You're some kind of mind-controlled zombie! But, don't worry, Jack Rabbit! I'll find a way to fix you up. Otherwise, Bulk's gonna bash you into zombie smithereens!"

-Jack would probably have to battle Miko to get her to listen to the call, but eventually, she'd become hypnotized, too.

-Now THAT'S a HUGE red flag for Bulkhead, and, well, EVERYONE

-MIKO is acting stoic and speaking in a monotone? OUR MIKO?

-Oh, Primus, no.

"Miko," Bulkhead would say, holding Miko's electric guitar. "Don't'cha wanna play your favorite song?"

"No time..." The girl would say blankly, and Bulkhead would drop the guitar in pure shock.

-It won't be long before Bulkhead pulls Miko aside to ask what's going on.

"This will explain everything..." Miko drones, showing Bulk a strange golden cellphone.

"A...cellphone?" Bulkhead questions. "Where'd you get that?"

"Answer it."

-Poor Bulkhead is fooled. He takes the call, and now there's two Autobots down.

-Bulkhead's mind-controlled state would definitely raise a few eyebrows. At first, it'd seem like he's just deeply lost in thought, but when it's time to battle, and he suddenly has no interest in kicking some tailpipe, it's clear something's wrong.

-Luckily, he's still pretty clumsy.

Bumblebee:

-Now, Bumblebee's situation is interesting

-He doesn't get infected by Raf.

-Rather, he gets infected trying to save Raf from becoming infected when a hypnotized Jack and Miko try to assimilate him.

-Poor Raf would be like: "Bumblebee, no! You don't have to do this to save me! I need you!"

-Unfortunately, Jack and Miko break their promise to spare Raf in exchange for Bumblebee joining them, so now all the humans are under, and nearly every Bot.

-Bumblebee's mind-controlled state is similar to when Megatron possessed him, only slightly less dangerous (I mean, come on. That was Megatron. You can't get much more dangerous than that).

-Bumblebee's is also the most obvious (besides Miko, of course). Bumblebee's such a sweetheart, it's easy to tell he isn't himself. Plus, his buzzing sounds different under mind-control. It's lower, and duller.

-Even while hypnotized, Raf is the only human who understand's Bumblebee when he speaks, so the two work together, unlike the others. The phones numb all emotions, so Bulkhead and Miko, as well as Arcee and Jack seem to have forgotten they're partners. Bee and Raf mainly work together because it's practical.

Ratchet:

-Poor Ratchet's going through it😂

-It took a LOT of fighting, but he managed to scan the others with his medical scanner.

-Ratchet is the one who figures out the phones are emitting a hypnosis-inducing frequency. Optimus is grateful for his help.

-However, with everyone else hypnotized, Ratchet gets cornered, and hypnotized himself.

-Poor guy. He tried to help them.

-Mind-controlled Ratchet is pretty scary

-Keep in mind, victims of the Pynch Phones maintain their intelligence

-Ratchet becomes a precise, calculating machine. He's gonna FIND that gold, and, if you try to stop him, he'll get you out of his way however he deems fit.

BONUS: Aftermath/Optimus is goated:

-Optimus manages to save the others by crushing the phones. Who knows? Maybe he and Megatron even had to team up.

-The others are super guilty upon snapping out of it. Bee is like a confused puppy, Bulkhead is furious, and Arcee is horrified (Jack keeps having to assure her he's ok). Ratchet has, like, a hangover because his neural net is too old for this mind-control shit.

-Optimus makes sure everyone knows it wasn't their fault. He's such a kind dude.

-Madeline Pynch should probably run. Messing with the Rescue Bots is one thing, but THIS is Team Prime. Optimus may be a pacifist, but Pynch endangered human lives. That's a biiiiig no-no when it comes to Optimus. He probably won't hurt her, per se, but she's in for a world of karma, because the other Bots aren't so forgiving,

back on my trc shenanigans

my thoughts on finishing trk under the cut!

i’ve been mulling over finishing The Raven King for like two months now oops (life was busy etc etc) and i was thinking of writing an essay on my thoughts but i might be too tired for that 

so TLDR; i love the trc series. in my top book series for sure. BUT as for trk, it wasn’t as much a satisfactory ending as i had hoped for (tho pynch was a highlight), and i wasn’t a fan of the opal side story

mainly i hoped for more hype and space for Blue/Gansey as their arc felt diminished next to Adam/Ronan. also, i wasn't feeling Henry as a character (he could have been replaced by Kavinsky, essay #2) nor some minor plot things

it was still a thrill to read and i’m happy i’ve now read the whole series!! idk if i’ll pick up Call Down the Hawk but i will forever appreciate The Raven Cycle for getting me excited about YA again! overall books 1 & 2 were my favorites in the series c:

pynch was literally my favorite couple of all time but I really think (not even on purpose) maggie destroyed their relationship post cdth...like it became unhealthy in a way that never got addressed

i disagree so much and here’s why:

trc adam & ronan are teenagers. and they act like teenagers. they have incredible emotional intimacy for their age but they are still just kids who are not completely honest about everything & don’t really have to face deep problems within their relationship (the problems are usually external). there’s a lot more ease to relationships that exist in one place at a time when both people are at the exact same stage in their life which is trc ronan & adam. i think dreamer trilogy ronan & adam show the complexities of a relationship that has existed over a long period of time as the people in the relationship change.

cdth is the beginning of a new portion of ronan & adams dynamic because it’s the first time they aren’t tied together by place (same school, same town, same friends). adam goes to harvard and ronan is left at the barns, partially by choice and partially because he can’t really leave bc of his dreaming (mental illness coded). the dreamer trilogy is ultimately about ronan lynch more than adam, although ronan isn’t ronan without adam, and so we really see ronan’s struggle to find who he is in a context that is removed from adam and the rest of his friends. the dreamer trilogy is a portrait of what it means to move from being a teenager to being an adult and that includes the changes a romantic relationship undergoes through that transition.

mister impossible ronan & adam are not functional even though they still love and care for each other. this is mainly because ronan is lost and has chosen a path to being “found” that isn’t real or productive. but he has to figure that out. what ronan goes through in mi — distancing himself from friends and family, searching for people “like him,” and feeling ultimately just lonely all the time — was a necessary journey for him. the whole time adam is trying. and ronan is trying too. but they just aren’t in the same place but that doesn’t make their relationship bad, it makes it real. and then in greywaren, ronan is able to have a literal break from the world and work through his issues and realize what’s important and who he is and what he needs. and adam does the same thing — reevaluating his priorities and his future. they both are learning how to be truthful with themselves first, and then with each other. greywaren is the ultimate reckoning. and i can never ever say that ronan & adams relationship was destroyed after cdth because in greywaren we get this:

and if that’s not the definition of love, of finding your way back to each other, of unconditionally holding another person up, i don’t know what is.

Kade walked into the kitchen, chuckling to himself about the sweet deal he got at the local diner. Little did he know it would come back to bite him.

Cody was daydreaming while eating cereal, Dani was attempting to make herself breakfast, Graham was making toast, and Charlie was sipping coffee while reading the newspaper.

"Mornin family," Kade said. "You're a bit late today," Graham said. Kade scoffed, "I needed some extra beauty sleep." Dani rolled his eyes at Kade's comment, and Charlie chuckled at it and continued reading. Then he read something that made him almost spit out his coffee. It took everyone by surprise by the action and got Cody out of his daydream.

"Uh, dad, is everything okay?" Cody asked. Charlie cleared his throat, "Just the news, son," "A rumor that's been going around the town for a few weeks ago." Dani raised an eyebrow, "What rumor?" If it was so bad that Charlie almost spat out his coffee, Dani wants in on the gossip. "Let me see," Dani said, and Charlie handed over the newspaper. "What does it say?" Graham asked.

"Ex-Theif Turned Rich Girl's Babysitter Is Possibly Dating the Oldest Burns!"

The four family members turn to look at Kade. His face was almost red as a fire hydrant. Charlie and Graham were in disbelief, Dani could see it happening, and Cody was mad and glared at Kade. "So it's okay for you to tease me for crushing on Priscilla, but you're outright dating her babysitter." Cody sneered. He knew his brother could be a bit of a hypocrite at times, but these are the few times where it genuinely made him mad. "You definitely don't wanna see the pictures then," Dani said.

"PICTURES?!"

Dani put the newspaper on the table and opened it, showing the "dates" of Myles and Kade. Everyone looked at Kade for a response. "I need to make a call real quick." Kade said as he dashed to his room and closed the door. He frantically dialed Myles' number, hoping it would answer.

M-Myles

(I absolutely suck at writing phone call dialog, so it'll be like this until then)

M: Yeah? K: Have you read the newspaper? M: No, why? None of us even really read that stuff. Only Madeline does. K: Remember how we would go to the diner and fake being a couple for their discounts. M: Dear god. What is on the paper? K: There's been a rumor going around that we actually are and my family knows. M: Let me guess, Cody's been giving you the stink eye ever since K: I didn't know people would think we're dating! And with Cody, it's not that bad. M: Dude, you bullied your younger brother for crushing on Priscilla, the daughter of a criminal. And he thinks you're dating me, an actual criminal. M: Of course he's going to be mad at you. P: He has a crush on me? M: Uhh P: Does he? K: Who are you talking to? M: *whisper* Priscilla heard me, Kade. She knows about the crush K: Why does that matter? M: *whisper* She likes him back! K: OH! Uh, gotta go train!

Myles looked at the hung up phone in annoyance. 'That explains why people kept looking at me weirdly,' He thought and turned to look back at Priscilla. She was giving puppy dog eyes. Now, most of the time, this wouldn't work on him. However, the feelings are mutual. He couldn't lie about and break Priscilla's heart. Myles sighed, wanting to to avoid the question. Luckily, his twin opened the door. "Hey there's a carnival going on tonight," Evans said, "Do you want to go there Priscilla?" "Myles, can you call Kade and tell Cody I'm going?" Priscilla asked. Myles sighed, "Yeah, I will." 'Just need to make sure that idiot didn't do anything stupid,' He thought.

-Back at the Fire House-

Cody was continuing to give Kade glares. Kade, obviously, ignored it. The bots wanted to know why, mainly Heatwave. Blades went to ask Dani, she always knows. "Hey Dani, what's with Cody?" Blades asked. "And what did Kade do?" Heatwave asked, giving Kade a harsh side eye and ready to spray him with water. Dani whispered to Blades and he was shocked and audibly gasped. "What is it?" Boulder asked. "You're dating Myles?!" Blades shouted. "N-No, the press just makes it seem like it," Kade tried to explain. "Kade, why would you associate with a criminal that we have arrested multiple times?" Chase asked. "Would you believe me I told you?" Kade asked. Everyone gained interest.

"Look, a few weeks ago, there was a couples discount at the local diner," "I didn't have enough money for the normal amount and Myles was near by so I asked him for us to pose as a couple so I could get the discount." "He agreed, so we ordered and sat away from everyone else." "We did this multiple times when the had the discount was in place and I guess people though we were dating because how close we tend to get at times..." "We got really close some nights..."

After hearing Kade's explanation, everyone had various reactions to this. "So people think you two are dating because you wanted a discount?" Graham asked. "Yup, and it worked." Kade said proudly, "I guess we got too convincing." "Why am I not surprised," Dani said, "I should've expected that you'd be the type to do it."

"So why is Cody so upset about it?" Boulder asked. "You mind if I tell them?" Dani asked. "No," Cody responded. "Alright, Cody likes Priscilla and he's upset about it." Dani said. "Wait, you do?" Blades asked. Cody nodded. "Myles did chew me out about it over the phone considering Priscilla likes you b-" Kade covered his mouth before he could finish the sentence but it was already to late. "She likes me?" Cody asked. Kade sighed, "Yeah, he did tell me because Priscilla over heard everything and he may have told her about your crush." There was a tinge of pink growing on Cody's face.

@ my beloved fic writers who make the world go round just wanted to make you aware of the fact that some pieces of shit are now going around ao3 and downloading fics to bind them and sell them on Etsy or TikTok shop. TikTok in particular is full of enraged fic readers and writers trying to make sense of this, and rightfully so. I think this is so disrespectful and unappreciative of the enormous, already underrated work fic writers put into what they do.

Now for the tag I mainly consume and community I’m most active in: personally I think pynch is a very niche ship right now, this fandom is not nearly as big as it used to be and in 4 years of me being here I’ve observed that the fic reading and writing community is pretty tight knit, but still, I wanted to warn you all about this! I think there’s reason to open our eyes and ears and be mindful of this all.

Lastly, just wanted to send a big hug to you all fantastic people because you literally make my life worth living on a day to day basis I hope these fuckers who are shitting on fanfic etiquette all catch a bad case of gastroenteritis and spend a few days agonizing in the throes of pain and disentery

The first character I first fell in love with: Boulder, I think.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Heatwave. He’s a legend.

The character everyone else loves that I don't: Kade, maybe? I think he’s funny, but I mainly like him in the context of his dynamic with Heatwave. As an individual, I don’t care for him much.

The character | love that everyone else hates: None, I don’t think.

The character I used to love but don't any longer: I can’t think of anyone in particular, but I know there are some characters who are just ‘meh’ to me now.

The character I'd slap: Priscilla Pynch. I can handle Dr. Morocco’s villainy and dismiss Mayor Luskey as ignorant and spineless, but Priscilla? Never. She’s so petty, and she knows what she’s doing.

What are their couples' ideas about having child?

Tracks/Raoul Neither want kids, but are absolutely open to mentoring/teaching teens life skills like finance management and mechanic work

Fort Max/Cerebros Faolan in particular wants to have kids, though is unsure if he's whole enough to be a father. Chrysa wants kids as well, especially after seeing Faolan be around them.

Powerglide/Astoria Astoria wants a couple of children. Parwaz never really thought about kids before his relationship with Astoria, but he likes the idea of them having a couple of kids. He can show them the joy of flying.

Seaspray/Alana They would also lover a child... Eventually. Before and during the war were not great times for them to have children, especially with Alana being a beastman shifter. The world needs to be safer for beastmen first.

Horri-Bull/Needlenose Nathan wants a child while Horace never considered it possible for himself. With Nathan, he's found he actually... Kinda wants one.

Loudpedal/Exhaust Neither of them feel super strong about having children themselves, but I think both would enjoy fostering/adopting CC children. Erica having matching shades with their CC kids while Logan making dance tracks for them.

Swindle/Madeline Pynch Madeline has already had Priscilla and she loves her with her whole heart. She doesn't feel driven to have more. Shigeru would not be a good father. Unless you want crime children.

Blast-Off/Cosmos Both would really love to have kids, especially Corinna! She sees so much cute baby photography and, while she knows kids are a lot of hard work, she can't wait to do baby photos herself. Also, I think Bernardino would like to foster/adopt kids after the war as well.

Afterburner/Lightspeed Ailean and Luz do love kids, being the big siblings to Grimlock's daughter plus their child fans. I think they would go either way between having kids themselves or fostering/adopting post-war.

Megaempress/Flowspade Magdalene and Fumie don't want to have kids. Mentoring kids, on the other hand... Granted, one of the two mainly just knows being an assassin.

Jumpstream/DustUp (Gotta work on these two)

Lancer/Greenlight Greenlight has her daughter, Gauge. I think, regarding any more, it would be fostering/adopting kids post war, mentoring kids in their different scientific fields.

Brawn/Cover Girl Bautista and Courtney have four children. While they're not trying for more, another one or two would not be unwelcome. Also, they've taken in a lot of beastmen in over the years before helping them on their way.

Joe/Nicky modern day AU, slightly crackfic, where they both take jobs as henchmen without realizing they have, and are consequently very bad at their job bc they are good guys

Pushing Daisies Bluesey AU (with Pynch), which is probably closer to done than I think, but there's just one Blue/Gansey scene I have to crack before I feel confident about it going out - also chaptered

Zukka timeloop fic with a twist -- mainly that the "loop" changes each time and there's some soulmate inspired marks. After my three lighter/comedy ones, this one is gonna be a lot darker

Roy/Jamie fic canon divergent AU where they're married & getting divorced (if Jamie ever signs the papers)

I've recently started toying with the idea of Blue Sargent and Jordan or Hennessy (mainly Jordan but also I think Blue/Hennessy would be unbearable in the best way) and I haven't seen anyone else talk about them. There's going to be a dash of background Blue/Jordan in my upcoming florist/tattoo artist Pynch AU so I don't know. Maybe it will be the beginning of something beautiful and I'll end up writing more of them!

Oh and Adam/Bryde 👀👀 l love the idea of Adam and Bryde together

I have a headcanon that Bryde, like all of Ronan’s other dreamthings, is infatuated with Adam and that's why we never see them really interact in the books; because Bryde would have been flirting shamelessly with Adam the whole time 🤣

Well, now that I finished TRC it's time to read as many Pynch fics as possible

Woah hey! I haven't posted on Tumblr for years, I really gotta start posting more here.

But anyways, after nearly a month I've finally finished this reference sheet! I'm still trying to master the Rescue Bots art style. I'm very pleased with how this version of the character turned out, I've never actually designed a TF OC with an alt mode before. I will make a wiki page soon which will elaborate more about this AU, but in a nutshell Doctor Morocco is a techno-organic (half cybertronian half human) he's been aware of this for decades but won't truly accept it. So using his Chamber of Youth he constantly reverts his body to a time before the cybertronian side of him takes over.

Cut to Season 3's episode 'The Last of Morocco' the Verne Device that powers the chamber has been stolen by Madeline Pynch leaving Morocco with no choice but to succumb to whatever horrors his Cybertronian side has to offer. However his Chamber of Youth still has some residual energy, just enough to send a singular piece of paper back in time to his close friend Jules Verne. And just like in the original episode, Jules refuses to lend Morocco the Verne Device stating 'This is not the man I knew.' Morocco then attempts to destroy the bots, High Tide stopping him with Morocco surrendering shortly after. He then decides to confess about his predicament and as to why he needed the Verne Device to begin with.

Okay cutting to the end of season 3 going on season 4 or else this will end up being waaaayy too long. After a lot of reasoning, persuasion monologues and tears, Morocco has had a change of heart. Becoming similar to the man he once was long ago, before drifting away from his best friend Jules Verne. He's been taught by the bots (mainly Blades surprisingly) and Optimus Prime how to master this new Cybertronian form and eventually decides to scan a vehicle mode. Morocco originally wished to scan a watercraft vehicle like a small submarine or jet ski. But when a high speed pursuit started to get out of control (the suspect on a motorcycle going nearly 150mph and poor Chase physically not capable of such speeds for long periods of time) putting the lives of Chief Burns, Chase and the suspect at risk, Morocco realises this is his opportunity to prove his change and someone must assist. He rushes to the firehouse, telling Cody to inform the Chief that help is on the way.

Rushing back outside, Morocco scans the only vehicle in sight he knows could compete (Yamaha R1) and sets off as fast as possible, trying to keep himself steady. Morocco quickly catches up to Chase and Chief Burns who are struggling to stop the reckless suspect and asks for guidance. The Chief upon recognising Morocco quickly orders him to stop the suspect by any means. Morocco speeds up getting as close to the suspect as possible yelling something along the lines of: "PULL OVER, THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING." in the most robotic, monotonous voice he could create, hoping to sell the illusion he was a machine of some sorts.

Funnily enough this worked and the suspect finally pulled over, intimidated by the driverless motorcycle. Chase and Chief Burns quickly detained the suspect and no lives were lost. Shortly after, Morocco transforms back into bot mode and remembers that he's scanned a motorcycle and is extremely displeased. The Chief thanks Morocco for his assistance and states that the rescue team really could use a high power motorcycle for future pursuits and police escorts. Morocco is puzzled by this statement as they both know he's not exactly fit for a rescue team especially the law enforcement side, Morocco is still struggling to forgive himself for his past mistakes. The sexualization of Ronan’s religous trauma in TRC will never fail to piss me off. A good chunk of pynch fanfiction- and this is mainly smut -has something to do with a church (Church sex! Every. single. one.) or with religous allegories for sex, or titles that have something to do with sin. It’s a running theme of Ronan hating himself for being gay and Catholic, then getting railed on a church pew, which apparently fixes everything. There is literally nothing not wrong with that. It’s like these people (mainly straight girls) look at religous trauma as a set up for porn, like its something sexy or romantic, rather than terrible. So, if you’re thinking about making a fanfic about pynch, maybe skip the church sex and all that bullshit? Gay men are sexualized enough- don’t drag catholisicim and trauma into it, thank you very much.

I don't know what to feel about Jack x Lori, mainly because I don't know Lori that well... but she did help a Decepticon reform, like Alexis did...

I think Jack x Miko is okay, but the ship would be more interesting if Miko goes through some character development and Jack develops some more personality, in my opinion...

As you know, I have been trying to make Priscilla Pynch a more regular/important character in my Rescue Bots AU's, but I would like to know what is her role or just what she does in your AU's!

I want to know what this little devil and her demon mom do on the island to the Burns family!

Truth be told I haven't really thought much about the villains in my AUs, just when they're relevant. Fortunately, I have given Priscilla a thought or two. And here they are!

Techno-Organic Cody

I was actually inspired by Disney's Hercules for this idea. Basically, Priscilla's role would be like Meg.

One day, she was minding her business, but then something happens, and Cody uses his powers to save her.

Her mother found out about this, and instead of being happy her daughter is okay, she would be fascinated by what Cody did.

They would think Cody had used special tech and Madeline Pynch would want to get her hands on that tech and make money from it. And she would make her daughter help.

Priscilla would try and get close to Cody, under the guise of wanting to thank him for saving her.

Everyone would be suspicious, but Cody would give it a chance, wanting to the good in her.

The beginning would be awkward, but the two would bond and grow close.

Priscilla would be surprised that someone actually like for her, not her money or status, and she would allow herself to really open up to him.

Cody would be able to see past her mean girl exterior and would like who she is deep down inside.

Meanwhile, Madeline would be furious her daughter is wasting time, Frankie would be half-concerned and half-jealous her best friend is hanging out with an enemy, and Charlie would be worried of losing his son to possible criminals.

I actually imagine Priscilla telling him the truth and what her mother wants. She expects him to hate her, but she doesn't want to lie to him and get him hurt.

But Cody would be understanding, knowing it's her mother's idea and the two would actually grow closer, despite their families not liking the relationship.

He might even tell her what he is, and Priscilla would keep that secret with her life, no matter how much her mother demands her to tell.

Oldest Child Cody

Honestly, I was hesitate to share this since I've only thought of this recently but I decided to go for it.

For this AU, I'm gonna age her up so she'll be around Cody age, basically they're both adults here.

She would be something of a rival towards Cody. She would be one of the few to see though Cody' perfect facade, and one of the few people he wouldn't bother acting perfect around, since to him, she's not worth the effort.

She would also be a bit more of an active participant in her mother's schemes here, maybe not enough to put her in jail too, but still.

The relationship would also be rather complex. They act civil and polite in public, but behind closed doors, they are not shy about disliking each other.

But at the same time, Cody appreciates that there is someone he can actually be himself with and not worry about consequences. And Priscilla appreciates someone who doesn't try to suck up to her and get on her good side, someone who tells her to her face that they don't like her. And the fact that its resident Mr. Perfect Cody makes it rather exciting.

So they have complicated feelings towards each other. They say they don't like each other, but deep down, they actually do. Even they don't understand what they feel towards each other.

Empath/Telepath Cody (The AU you pitched a while ago)

Little Miss Priscilla would one of the many people Cody tries to help in this AU.

I actually got the idea from your drawings. Mainly the one where Cody is hugging Priscilla.

In this AU, Cody would be able to see how miserable Priscilla really is and would want to help her.

Priscilla would resist at first, but eventually, she would given in and seek Cody's help.

Cody would be her unofficial therapist for a while.

And after a while she would develop a crush on him.

Cody would be oblivious about this, he knows she crushing on someone, but not who, since he doesn't want to invade her privacy. And if he knows its him, he'll be hesitant because he doesn't want to feel like he's taking advantage of her.

They'd get together eventually, mainly because Priscilla can be persistent when she wants to.

You have made me ship these two. I hope you're proud of yourself.

oh i didn't know you liked ronan's character more than your do adam's! what is it that you like about him?? 💛

Ronan’s definitely one of my favourite characters. Adam isn’t because, according to me ... and here’s the absolute nuts part ... Adam’s not exactly a book character.

Adam’s pretty much a real person.

And it’s embarrassing to admit it because I pride myself on being a logical and rational person. I usually have a healthy perspective on actual people in the real world, let alone those I meet in fictional places. I don’t get super invested in things like this.

But. Here’s the thing. I’ve read a LOT of books. Adam is the only character that got me so worked up that I had to put down on paper the inner workings of his mind and start writing fic. 

In that way, technically, taking my ridiculously sentimental view out of the equation, I suppose Adam Parrish is my favourite character ever. 

But it’s still not accurate to say that. 

I simply cannot put Adam Parrish on the same list as Bruce Wayne or Elizabeth Bennet or Ty Blackthorne. Because, they are, very clearly, fictional. And Adam... well, Adam isn’t even in the same universe as them.

This is Maggie’s true gift - to create archetypal people that not only come across as complex and authentic, but also make you care about them. 

I haven’t read any other books where I’ve identified so much with a character (to some extent I identify with Ronan too - but much more superficially). 

To compare, let us take another series with several MCs and ships very dear to me: The Shadowhunter Chronicles. I adore Tessa Grey, Jem Carstairs and Will Herondale, and all permutations and combinations of them. Malec and Kitty & Magnus and Ty are some others I love. 

But how many of them do I identify with? 

Zero.

I don’t need them to live and love like I do with Adam. I write IOP mainly for him, and for him and Ronan to have the experiences I think they should have (And also because I totally GET Pynch and their dynamic - well, I think so anyway).

And, like Adam, I’m very much star-struck and in love with Ronan Lynch.

Ronan’s incredibly complicated and has so many facets to him that should not in fact be able to exist within one person (even if they are fictional) and still seem cohesive and have a believable ... gestalt. 

His rage and his tenderness. His sensitivity and his abrasiveness. His ability to think outside the box yet be blind to certain basic things. His equal capacity for self-loathing and worship. His passion and his depression. His innocence and his street-cred. The beauty and the horrors that live inside him. How he’s an asshole and an angel all at the same time. 

And I’m not even talking about any of his fantastic power and magic. Neither am I talking about Adam’s. 

I think it’s clear that Ronan is so real because he’s close to being a self-insert of Maggie’s. And I can imagine that she’s as compelling and contradictory as he is. 

Similarly, I’ve always had a sneaking suspicion that Adam was crafted from the bones of someone Maggie really knew and loved, though the idea for him may have been sparked by a strange boy on a plane. Because everything about him rings totally true and is note perfect - including the depiction of him as an abuse-survivor, and his struggles with his self-image and personal power.

He’s so real, in fact, that it’s hard to believe he isn’t. 

So, yes.

Ronan Lynch is one of my favourite fictional characters.

Adam Parrish is my favourite fictional person.

Pynch is my favourite fictional ship.
