He wants hospitals to remind people seeking medical aid that their data is being collected and they’re subject to being reported, which is to say he wants them to suffer and die alone and uncared-for, out of fear of being hassled by his rogue immigration enforcers. The human rights abomination this represents aside, this will be a threat of law enforcement harassment regardless of a person’s conduct or legal documented status, and will end up impacting people of color almost exclusively and broadly regardless of citizenship.

Fuck this guy. Vote. Take his power to do this to us away from him. Vote. Take his job. End his career. He’s a serial social murderer in a suit, he’s a legal mob boss, and he got there by presiding over a legislature gerrymandering us to hell and looking the other way as polls were closed, as voters were intimidated, as people die in the Rio and die in hospital beds and die in floods and die in power crises when it freezes and die in power crises when it’s hot and he keeps right on, pocketing new lobby money from the oil and gas giants.

I only hope he gets a hell of his own making, living through the pain and fear of every single person he has harmed in sequence. He could be up for about forty five million years of our collective pain if this ended right now, but instead, he’s decided to make it worse in November.

So, a comparatively high amount of states are voting on the fate of ranked choice voting this year. Missouri is voting on whether or not to kill it, Alaska is voting on whether or not to keep it, and most importantly, Nevada, Oregon and Idaho are voting on whether or not to adopt ranked choice voting, with maybe Colorado to follow.

And if you live in these states, even if you don't want to vote at the top of the ticket, I urge you to get out there and vote in favor of ranked choice voting on all of them.

Like, the two-party monopoly is a big part of the reason why politics in this country is so shit, and a big part of that is our "first past the post" system making it basically mathematically impossible for candidates outside of them to win anything beyond a local or state level.

So, if you want to try and break the cycle of voting for the lesser evil, of bipartisan cruelty towards the Global South and the country's own citizens alike, we need to change this and we need to vote on it where we can.

all of which are now used in propagandizing and funding horrific bigotry, including pushes against human rights in the antisemitism and anti-trans fascist quarters, to equating Scottish independence efforts in a post-Brexit era as equivalent to fictional nazism.
