you see the reason apollo is so natural at changing himself and quickly adjusting to new situations is that, as the God Embodiment of Civilization, he has this amazing thing named Scientific Curiosity which makes him the chosen one (1) god to not be afraid of change or the unknown

okay im more coherent now. first off im scrapping the vengeful spirit thing. but susie and evan do stick around post fnaf 3 which causes charlie to stay back.
Cassidy and Michael had a SEVERELY rocky relationship, with her meeting him while working at the fnaf 1 location. She demanded his help and he gave in because this IS technically his fault too. but he's more focused on stopping his dad while Cassidy wants to help the souls and he keeps fighting with mike and fritz (fritz is cassidys brother in this au because. mlem. he tells her not to come but shes not listening to him)
thats not including the bite, which is something they avoid talking about for way too long before she blows up at him and he leaves in anger.
Cassidy doesn't hear from him again until she's reading the paper and he's dead. frankly that kinds fucks her up. he was the ONLY person helping her and now he's dead. after that she goes to evans grave a lot more, a place she avoided because she knew he couldn't hear her. but she also knew michael used to leave flowers and now he cant. nobody remembers evan except her at this point, so she has to stand in for mike
she hates michael for the bite, she fucking hates him but god its scary doing all this alone. its scary confronting the man who tried to stab her to death alone in a room. its scary trying to help her friends move on, friends who werent as lucky as her (if you can call it that)
FFPS is complicated. she doesnt trust it and it looks like something will would set up, but she goes anyways. because she knows the others will be there. she sets everyone free and dies alongside them. not because she has nothing left, but so she can grab william by the fucking ankle and say NO. YOU'RE NOT GOING WITH THEM.
This is making me think of an au I had where Mike died via scoop and Cassidy who lived ig took over, using his identity and posing as an afton to get info on William and stop him.
I didn’t take it super far bc I wasn’t sure how I felt about a Cassidy lives au but it was a fun concept I might use it

i'm actually pretty far into my Picard-era Voyager reunion fic (about 6k out of.... probably 9k or so) but i'm a bit insecure about it because every other longer fic i've written has been a little more insightful & deeper whereas this feels too surface level for my tastes. like i enjoy writing it. and i'd enjoy it if i was just a reader rather than a writer. it's fun to catch up with these characters and figure out how their relationships have changed and write some banter but idk it's just not clicking the way my other recent published fics have.

Girl Mob except she never hit her period before or throughout the main story as some weird result of the severe emotional suppression. And at some point post-canon it hits her with the force of a thousand suns

I saw someone saying "Imagine if they found the Eggs, but they could only save 3" and I'm so obsessed with that thought.
Richarlyson, Chayanne, Ramon, Dapper, Tallulah, Leo, and Pomme... Those are the last Eggs left. Imagine only being able to save 3.

god, maya’s impression of bellamy must’ve been absolutely legendary. first off, she’s only heard stories about him from jasper and co, who all essentially worship him, and then when she meets him he. he knows her name right away, like some kind of mythical creature. he’s is this powerful and intense and vengeful guy with beautiful and kind eyes who keeps asking if she’s okay. and then not 2 minutes into their relationship he beats the shit out of someone and gets all bloody and looks monstrous in this yellowish lighting, but then he’s like, “are you alright?” in this soft and gentle voice, as if he’s not the one bruised and pained about what he had to do. i can’t imagine how intriguing he would be. and then he’s super intense and serious and broody for the rest of their walk, until they meet the children, and he’s even more tortured about it. and when he talks to clarke about their plan and maya doesn’t seem confident about the long laundry list of tasks they have to do, he still smiles and assures that it’s not a problem. always believing in the impossible for the sake of everyone else.
the way he immediately steps into that big brother role with her. the way maya sees all these complicated sides of him all at once, and still chooses to go all in.
this dynamic is one of the most interesting ones on the show, it’s a shame we only get to see it for just a few episodes.

No, don't say it was just an isolated incident that happened once
There's no need to pretend
I've never seen an ugly truth that I can't bend

answering I have no point of view of rhaegar but the mentions are from people who were in love with him joncon, cercei or people like barristan who is an ass kisser who follows the megalomaniac daenerys who believes that rhaegar was perfect, besides he says that he could not be happy something like that following ned is not a reliable point of view either because he arrived when lyanna was dying neither viserys or the maniac daenerys are not reliable because they believe in the propaganda that her brother fought for the woman he loved a means to justify his crimes 2 being a tough stubborn and intelligent girl does not make you not be a victim of manipulation or grooming of what he did he let a girl die alone he fought for her father he made a child live with the stigma also his guards took ned away from his sister in a traumatic moment. 3 of course he didn't plan to die because he's like his sister Daenerys who believes that everything revolves around them and that they alone can save the world because in their megalomania they believe that they could get away with it, he was so arrogant to believe that he was going to be victorious
ned is not a reliable point of view ned is a hypocrite who let his wife mistreat his nephew who let horrible things happen who basically dismissed lyanna's feelings about robert who said that brandon and lyanna sought their endings who blamed lyanna's savagery on her sister and not the idiot who took advantage of her she the one truly responsible was rhaegar so ned who is not an example of morality when it comes to jon or lyanna because he failed them both
I know it was a fever dream but it doesn't change anything. He was irresponsible for taking her to Dome. It's a land where she would be far away from everyone and dangerous because of his wife's family. It could put Lyanna and Jon in danger because he was even a fool to take a girl that he turned into his lover to his wife's land. I'm not a fan of Elia Martell. In fact, she's a tertiary character that I don't care about.
anon,
glad you seem to know what a period is, though i wish you used it more often.
also, you’re delusional, and frankly, i don’t think you’ve read a single Daenerys chapter.

Do you see Jane as yourself or a separate person because when I read x reader fics I feel like I always make up characters that I think would fit more but idk
Me personally, I see Jane as a different person, just one with a few attributes I share! And that's kind of on purpose. I've essentially tried to make her a mixture of all of us, of the fandom, of the love we—me included—have for Matt and that world. That's why she's never physically described, why her original family is kind of murky and lost. She's both herself—her own character with a shaped personality and flaws and strengths—but also all of the readers, including me, and she looks like what each of us wants or needs to see, comes from where we need her to come from. Which is how I think of a lot of great Reader characters when I'm reading, or characters I style after me in RPGs! They're me but they're me in another world with another life story, which makes them different in their own way, in the way any alternate universe version of yourself might be different.
Because of Plot Reasons (TM), you can never really make a reader fully everyone, it's true. There are always choices the plot requires a Reader to make, which is one reason I've set Jane up with the backstory she has, and why we're exploring questions of identity through her that I want readers to consider - wouldn't we be the same as her, make a lot of the same decisions, feel the same loneliness and wariness and trauma, if we'd all gone through what she has? And if you spend all your time being someone else, how long until you start changing? How much of you is created and how much of you is born? How much of you would change if you went through what she did? And what if you did go through what she did? This could be you, what if? In that way, she's potentially (since some see her as entirely separate, which is fine!) a sort of a variant of us, an AU, a what-if, in which our lives and selves were morphed by circumstances beyond our control. This is how I see the CYOA books I read as a kid, and there was a great article I read a few months ago that sums up the You in CYOA, Reader fics, RPGs, and TRT pretty well (it's the highlighted bits I found most accurate, the part about not having 'relatability' I think was a misunderstanding of what You POV/Reader/the best CYOA books were about if done right since it CAN be relatable, though the rest of it after that still feels accurate).
Tumblr media
So I don't think your stance is unusual at all! I've got a whole range of readers—some who see Jane (and other reader characters) as fully them, some who see her as wholly separate, and some who land somewhere in the middle. All of those for x Reader are valid, and I work REALLY hard to keep her as relatable as possible for that reason, so that even if someone does see her as someone else, you can still understand and appreciate her choices when the plot forces her hand. But that's the thing: where you stand on whether a Reader character is you or someone else or even a pre-established canon character is fluid. Everyone sees them differently, pulls on that costume, slides into that skin in their own way. And I think that's really awesome tbh, since it means we get a million different flavors of a character who's still essentially the same.

When I see ppl hating on king rhoam i start blacking out and seeing visions
#lindsay speaks#the legend of zelda#''Rauru is the father she never had!! 🥺'“ ahhhhhh.... AAAAAAHHHHHHHH#ppl who hate rhoam for being mean are like the ppl who hate zelda for being mean#just different font#the point isn't for him to a perfect father. he'S NOT A REAL PERSON HE'S A GOOD CHARACTERRRR#not only that. but he's not a. BAD. father.#we are introduced to the characters at a precipice. the pilots have been chosen. the champions have gathered together. they master#the divine beasts more everyday. the pressure zelda is feeling is NOT only a personal but public pressure. everyone in hyrule is looking at#her expectantly. for the only power in the world that can save their lives. even the champions. even her father.#we look at the moment she awakens her power as beautiful. we forget her father is dead in that moment. the champions are dead. hundreds of#innocent civilians are dead. they were all RIGHT to be scared. they WERE all relying on her.#how can people say rhoam's urging was unreasonable????? I'm not saying he was right about how to awaken her power --#IF YOU RECALL. NO ONE. knows how to awaken her powers. being her father does not make him all-knowing. NO ONE KNEW.#they were ALL doing their best. EVEN RHOAM. even his line about the gossips.... BRO. TO HIM. THAT WAS ENCOURAGEMENT#he says ''it is your destiny to prove then wrong'' he's saying I BELIEVE IN YOU. DO NOT FALTER FROM YOUR GOAL.#he's saying ARE YOU ANGRY AT THIS? USE IT. PUSH FORWARD.#i know many people who encourage in this way.#that being said. that is not the encouragement zelda needed. I'm not receptive to that either!!#but what should be acknowledged is that he's not being a bad person here. HE ESPECIALLY HAS GOOD INTENTIONS.#am i saying that excuses hurtful behavior? NO. but rhoam is a CHARACTER. a character with a complete arc#the same way angry zelda was the beginning of her arc. good intentioned but harmful was rhoam's.#he spends 100 years after a brutal death on the great plateau just waiting for link. because at the core of his character is ONE THING.#to protect his daughter. no matter what.#pre-calamity - zelda is the ONLY ONE who can save herself. from rhoam's pov he is pushing her to save herself.#post-calamity - he waits on the great plateau to help link gain his bearings and understanding of the world. because link is the only one#who can save zelda. even in death we see that. after 100 years with nothing but his own thoughts. he can articulate and understand#his goals. he died believing he failed her. he beat himself up for being so hard on her.#because it's so easy AFTER the stressful and intense situation to say: oh. i should've just done this.#i ran out of tags.
