I love the idea of a noble Drow!Lady tav, because there are so many connotations there.

Because Drow!Lady Tav, when it comes to her expectation of men would be Astarion.

A vessel for use and pleasure, especially as she is high ranking, she would never have to care for them in a way that lower ranking drow would utilise them.

But she absolutely does not see him like that at all and that would be such an interesting dynamic.

Because I don't know how Astarion would react to that

She is exactly the type of woman he would target, wealthy, high ranking, and it helps with his justifications that she holds some prejudice.

Regardless if Drow!Lady!Tav does or not that is what he is just going to assume

But he knows you, you aren't like that and I think a part of him, in a way relishes in the fact that you chose him, you chose to treat him well, to love him and you can hate all the rest. But he is yours to love and to respect.

That power is something that would definitely be attractive to him.

The two of you would thrive in the underdark and he would likely gain a position in your house - yes there would be backlash but you saved the world, you would love anyone to challenge you on that.

I can't stop thinking of Steve calling Eddie 'Angel'. I heavily subscribe to the idea they're an aloof cat/golden retriever trope couple so it feels just so Good Omens to me to have pouty bitchy grumbly Steve in his Levi's and with his good hair, pointing towards his car with a huffy "Get in, Angel."

And then there's bouncy bubbly smiley tattooed leather and denim and hardwear wearing Eddie trying to fold his wings in to sit in the car and turn the music up.

Also, what colour are they? Are they white? Black? Brown?

Also also, how does he decorate them because you CANNOT tell me that boy doesn't drape himself in chains and trinkets and the like. There's SO MUCH real-estate there.

He usually just let's them stretch a little in his van but even there he's a lil cramped. They're. Big. And they only get thicker in winter with his winter feathers.

His eyes scanned you over. You were certainly interesting, if not also a nuisance to his realm. Yet, to hear the Endless doesn’t exist in your world, that was very interesting. How did you know of him and his siblings then?

Hey, I saw that you were bored, and I am also bored, so have an ask! Your Owen headcanons are great, so I was wondering if you have any about Owen's interest in acting/theatre?

It's one of the things that's really interesting to me about his character, even though it only gets a brief mention in canon.

Ooooooooo this is such a good ask

It's weird, because despite being a hardcore theatre kid myself (I spent ages 8-18 in a community theatre program doing 2 plays and a musical every year), I always tend to see Owen's interest in acting in relation to my autistic Owen headcanon, as allegorical instead of literal acting/theatre.

Although in my experience, masked autistic people make excellent actors because it's what we do all the time anyways- every social interaction is a performance. We finesse ways to deliver lines, body language, tone of voice. I have to physically stop myself from rocking or swaying. I say combinations of words I've memorized from TV, delivered in the style of whatever actor's delivery is most appealing to me. Before I was diagnosed I used to joke that I built my public personality around Lauren Graham's line deliveries in Gilmore Girls. (I also routinely quote that show in social interactions)

It's exhausting, but I can more or less be at a social event for a few hours and seem ~normal~ and then come home and fall apart. The only time I feel like I can really unmask is when I'm totally alone, and the more time I spend with others (even people I love and adore!) The more irritated I get, the more quickly I melt down, the less I'm able to keep up the "I'm totally normal" facade I've constructed.

Obviously I'm 1000% projecting onto this character, but that's kinda how I see Owen and how I write him. I mean he literally is masked for most of the show, the acting, the way he speaks and his body language changing based on who he's around and what he's doing, him putting on personas and playing characters, the specific way he speaks with his hands, the way he seems to fixate on certain interests and ideas and ideological positions, the way they emphasize his interest in details, just so much of that feels familiar to me.

I do think he probably would've enjoyed acting. It saved my life. I wouldn't have survived without learning how to be someone else, someone other people don't immediately reject. For a second I thought maybe he could've been involved in vaudeville as a teenager, like Cary Grant, but vaudeville was on its way out by the early 30s so that doesn't seem likely. He'd be too young for it.

But I imagine he really liked to read plays, even if he didn't necessarily have a way to act or to see theatre as a kid/young adult. I think in the chwm epilogue I wrote about him buying a used copy of Pygmalion (unless I deleted that in editing, I can't remember). I think he probably read a lot and listened to radio plays and listened to BBC News to perfect his respectable posh accent.

I've had a headcanon for awhile now that Curt and Owen used to have sneaky little late night movie dates, because they just both love movies so much. Curt loves the action and the fantasy, the heroics of 1950s cinema, probably westerns, war films, musicals. Owen likes noir, and sci-fi, and british kitchen sink social dramas (those might be a *bit* late for him but the precursors for that), and is fascinated with the mechanics of acting, picking things apart, like he almost sees it as research for their jobs.

That's mostly just because I love classic films from the 30s-60s and now any time I watch something that came out during their time period I find myself wondering how those characters would react to it.

To me, in my little headcanon, Owen Carvour meticulously built this image of the perfect dashing confident charming British spy. And eventually he meets Curt and he trusts Curt, he sees that they have these similar rough edges that they hide with arrogance and vanity, that they are both playing a role. Curt is the first person who more or less experiences the world the way Owen does- filtering out the unacceptable parts of themselves to get by.

Curt is the only person he ever feels safe even partially letting the act drop with. Not all the way, they could never be 100% vulnerable with each other like that. But enough that Owen feels... safe with Curt. Not just about their secret (although yes also that), but Curt is the only person Owen allows to see any vulnerability, any trace of who he really is. It's part of why what Curt does feels like such a betrayal, why Owen can't move past it. Because he had a relative safe harbor, one person on earth he trusted, and it nearly got him killed.

8-How did Barriss meet her Master?

This is one of my absolute favorite headcanons about Barriss and I wrote a whole chapter on in my fic “The Padawans” but I love to believe Barriss met Luminara as a baby when she was brought to the Jedi Temple. In Legends, it’s been said Barriss was basically abandoned on a ship as a baby and that’s how the Jedi discovered her and brought her home, so I turned that sad concept into something sweeter. I like to believe Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were the ones to find her and bring her and the moment Luminara saw Barriss, she immediately fell in love with her and vowed to be her Master one day. From there, Luminara basically raised Barriss, visiting her as much as she can, giving her gifts from her travels, etc. until Barriss was ready to be her Padawan in which Luminara gifted her with her trademark blue cloak and heart belt buckle 💚💙 Im very fortunate to have the very talented @grissaecrim depict this very moment and it’s forever one of my most precious images.

48- A Crack Headcanon About Luke

That since he grew up on a hot, desert planet that Luke is OBSESSED with water and greenery, like he cannot shut up about it and everytime he sees a large body of water, Luke just dives on in but like he’s the worst swimmer which drive Leia and Han crazy because then they have to dive right after him before he drowns himself 🤣 Luke eventually learns how to swim as he gets older but you’ll always catch him mediating or hanging out by water or under the shadiest tree because he finds it all so beautiful and he never got to experience it as a child 💚

OOOOOOOOO so right off the bat I'm getting this image of young Brooke and Chloe growing up as best friends and viewing each other as their other half (something something Best Friend Heart Necklaces)

Then of course they have to start playing the game of getting to the top of the high school hierarchy while navigating through the sort of misogyny that exists in it (girls needing to walk on eggshells to be taken seriously while guys down need to try so hard)

Of course the stress of playing this game gets to Chloe and makes her the irritable and standoffish stereotypical Mean Girl that we know in the show. Brooke always knew her to be the more assertive one between the two of them, but she was never at the receiving end of her snappy remarks.

And there's nothing Brooke can do to draw her away from playing into the game. Always needing to know what Madeline's doing, if Jake has moved onto another girl, doing everything she can to stay on top. This isn't the girl Brooke knew. Then again, they weren't kids anymore. This is what society wanted them to be. This was a byproduct of growing up.

But Brooke has known Chloe forever. She knows that she's so much more than what the hierarchy forces her to be. She wants to get back in touch with the girl she became friends with all those years ago. The girl that didn't steal her boyfriends or hiss at her for speaking well of Madeline because she just didn't know what it was that she wanted to hear.

And Chloe knows that she wasn't always like this. She didn't always care this much. She doesn't want to care this much. But it's all she has. If she's not at the top of the food chain, nobody gives her the light of day. She can't just exist without needing to find a reason to.

Just backgenned this for a power idea I thought was funny, curious what you'll make of this:

You are the leader of a minor unpowered gang. Circumstances being as they are, you have a lot of trouble keeping control of your territory, but you’re a fantastic leader- the core of your gang implicitly trusts you, and you have full confidence in their abilities. Unfortunately, between the more powerful parahuman gangs and the threat of the cops, you’re hemorrhaging money, and you’re constantly threading the needle between solvency and bankruptcy. You spend most of your time juggling confidence schemes and protection rackets, and each one requires the skills of both you and your gang, but no matter what, you cannot escape the specter of insolvency. After years of chasing after enough money to keep your gang running, you finally catch on to a massive lead- you hear the location of where a bank is temporarily storing a huge amount of gold. You immediately jump on it, and when the operation begins, everything goes smoothly. But just as your gang is about to take out the last of the gold, the cops report to the scene. You can stop right there, distract the cops and get your gang out of there, but that would be the end of your career, even if it means you keep their respect forever. Or you can sneak out, jump into the getaway van, and make out with enough gold to make you filthy rich, but that would mean abandoning most of your gang. You trigger as you frantically puzzle over your options.

This definitely feels like a tinker trigger. It's a problem over a long period of time that is treated like a puzzle that the triggeree can't solve. Resource and binary/multi-threaded tinker makes sense, but to me it's interesting to view the choice at the end as a continuation of a lose-lose situation they were facing over the longer period of time as a gang leader?

So maybe it's a conflict of "take on more dangerous jobs and step on more of the toes of heroes and more powerful criminals/take the van and betray your friends," vs "take the L, take the smaller payout and don't take risky jobs (while slowly going bankrupt)/distract the cops and lose out on a personal level in return for respect and social standing"?

Which in other words could mean a mastery/social focus and a more violent focus with risk/reward mechanics built in? So maybe emotion/"esteem"-affecting speciality (with a big power drain), and a cutting weapon/small vehicle speciality that can blow up randomly when overheating or pushed too far.

The resource they need is gold, or alloys similar to gold/coloured gold. When they have it all their gear is better, they can build tech that fits both specialities extremely well. But, when they don't have it each of their builds can only fit one of their specialities, and the drawbacks of both sets of tech is worse (bigger power drain from the emotion effecting tech, and higher chance of dangerous explosion in the cutting weapon/vehicle tech).

Alternatively...

...if you were interested in a non-tinker read, I could see this being a breaker power? They know that distracting the cops is the right thing to do, but their body is fully of fear and an animal need for control over the gang. From mind vs body incongruity, they trigger as a breaker with mover and master capabilities. In breakerstate they're a kind of 2d image or icon of themself (that looks the same whatever angle you view it from), slightly exaggerated and larger than life, able to fly and pull attention (and some emotions/attitudes) towards them.

However the form has an energy resource mechanic: spending time in breaker-state (or using the powers the state gives them) requires spending from a measure of energy that they are aware of at all times, and that energy can only be recovered through the gang "winning" territory and money, with the shard deciding what counts.

Niall would avoid any smart character that might see through his perfect image – so a huge no for the entire Octavinelle (unless he and Azul co-op and that would be HORRIBLE), Jamil, Lilia. I’ll... I’ll just go through everyone.

He would enjoy Heartslabyul – everyone there is rather naive or can’t say much if they aren’t, and Niall’s charming enough to fool Riddle with his “good king” image and thus he has control over the entire dorm, boom. Nobody would be able to say much if they disagree, but Deuce would probably believe him, along with Ace, who might call Niall sus, but he’d be won over so easily.

Savanaclaw actually probably likes Niall – even though Ruggie might be a little put off, but he’ll never say anything about it. Leona might actually get pissed, because, for his liking, Niall tries too hard to be liked by everyone, but if they find out how OOPS SPOILER about each other, they might actually become petty besties. Wow. Gross.

Like I’ve said, Niall avoids dangerous people, so no fishies and snakes, although Jamil is much safer than Octavinelle and Niall can slightly use him, although with a mutual agreement where they both know they use each other. Niall would like Kalim, but would think that he’s fucking stupid lol Probably the reason why he would like him.

Pomefiore is actually the dorm he’d want to be a part of. To him, Vil has a similar mindset (the king/queen thing and hard work), so even Vil being smart wouldn’t put him off. He wouldn’t really care about Rook, and it’d be a joy for him to toy with Epel and to do other things with Epel. Niall is thriving over here.

Niall knows that Idia knows he’s full of shit, but Idia is that type of a pathetic scared bitch who’s very easy to bully, so he doesn’t mind that. He might actually become something like friends with Ortho, though! Ortho seems to be nice, and it’s easy for Niall to pretend he’s very nice to Idia.

He doesn’t really like Diasomnia – they’re very royal and he enjoys that, but all that hype for Malleus is just not worth it... Wow, they do get with Leona fucking christ. He’d be very pleasant to Malleus though, just to be safe and sure. He likes Silver, because he’s very pretty and fuckable, but Sebek annoys him very much.

Ned is the opposite – he’d definitely enjoy Diasomnia to the fullest, he really likes their organisation, their order, their dedication, and their style lol Sebek is his bestie, Lilia is his respected elderly, he would think that Malleus fits his title of a future king and that Silver is a good guard – that’s where he and Sebek would have conflicts sometimes because Sebek is a tsundere, even though Sebek likes Silver a lot.

You’d think Heartslabyul is also nice in his view, but actually not really. Ned’d be put off by Riddle’s dictatorship because he likes to have more control over his free time and his activities, so he’s not a huge fan of a tyrant. Even though Riddle has the spirit, he’s not someone who should be in charge of anything – that’s what he’s going to think. He would like everyone else though, especially Trey, even though pies aren’t Ned’s passion – they’re very delicious, and he’ll devour them all.

Savanaclaw should also be something he could enjoy, but... not really. Ned would get pissed off by Leona in ten seconds, and they’d hate each other lol He really likes Ruggie (Ruggie is very hard-working and smart, even if he’s cunning, so Ned respects it), and Jack is ok for him.

Octavinelle is... actually pretty fine? He knows they’re scammy, but he’s actually good at seeing through it and it doesn’t turn him off. Azul? Azul. Oh, Azul... as soon as Azul shows him his coins and describes every treasure chest that can be found underwater, that’s... instant love. He’ll actually listen to Azul more than he should and even obey him in some cases, if that means a trade might be made and Ned would be in a disadvantage (only slight one though). He’s not a huge fan of the underwater world or their dorm, though, although the entire sea theme is nice.

He’d also like Jamil, Jamil is like perfect – capable, smart, mindful, resourceful – every quality he highly values in people. Jamil is also very pretty, so... yeah. Ned might fall in love. He wouldn’t care if Jamil is fake-friendly or a little bit psychotic and true to his real self – he’d actually appreciate Jamil being honest to him. Kalim? Kalim is nice and a very good guy, they’ll have friendly interactions, especially after Kalim shows him his fucking fortune room. Then they’re besties. He really likes Scarabia, huh. He actually can handle such a hot sun pretty well...

Pomefiore would be too much for him – too much glitter and capricious students. He would adore Vil, though – he also has all the qualities Ned respects – hard-working, strong-willed, powerful, high standards for everyone, including himself. Ned’s going to have warm feeling for him, but keep his distance – Ned probably doesn’t understand technology all that well, especially something so advanced, but respects people who do and that’s why Ortho is also cool! But creepy lol He would actually like Ortho a lot if they talked.

Ohhh, Edmund is the person who would barely have anyone he’d get along with. Heartslabyul is a no-no, he thinks anyone who doesn’t respect themselves should go to this dorm. Riddle is terrible and has a lot of enablers, so the only person he might actually interact with is Ace, but Ace might seem too genki for him. He wouldn’t respect Trey-the-enabler, and Cater is a walking nightmare for him – Edmund wouldn’t know that this image Cater has is fake. Deuce is ok, but nothing interesting.

Savanaclaw? No. He wouldn’t like Leona, mostly because there’s nothing remarkable about him, but Jack and Ruggie would actually be ok. The problem would be with the entire concept of the dorm which relies on your strength, mostly.

Octavinelle is a little bit sleazy for Edmund, but he would probably be okay with it. Not his favourite dorm, and he doesn’t like the Mostro Lounge slavery idea lol but the fact that Azul and his fwiends are creepy sea creatures, and Azul being a literal giant octopus might invoke some doki-dokis in Edmund...

Scarabia is too hot. He’d get a sunstroke in 10 minutes of being there and would suffocate instantly. Jamil is also kinda annoying, especially with his soft caring attitude towards him, even though it’s not as bad as Edmund thinks it is. Kalim is just infantile and naive, Edmund is too edgy for people who enjoy their lives to the fullest.

Vil is Edmund’s worst nightmare – he’s way too strict and over controlling about things that don’t matter, like appearances and what other people would think about you. Hell, he might even call Vil insecure for all he cares. But his potionology skills are amazing. Rook is actually kinda nice, he wouldn’t mind hanging out with him, and Epel is just plainly annoying. The dorm itself is also just... terrifying.

Ignihyde is actually perfect for him mentality-wise, but holy shit Edmund is so bad at technologies because he doesn’t care about it and they don’t attract him in the slightest, so it would actually be a torture to put him among these people. He wouldn’t get along with Idia, unless they start talking on a deeper level and share some of their experiences – then the “relatable” part would win over both of them. Ortho would scare the shit out of Edmund, even though Ortho is friendly – although honestly, Edmund just needs time before he realises how Ortho is exactly what he might need. Plus, if you squint, technologies and occult aren’t that different when we talk about an AI flying creepy robot boy.

Diasomnia is ok. Malleus isn’t his thing (why though? He’s a dragon...), and he would consider Sebek annoying. Silver is nothing special, but Lilia... He will most likely like Lilia a lot – Lilia knows a lot, he’s very interesting to talk to, he knows a lot of old tales and secrets and stuff and the guy is just a walking library. Lilia is also flirty and dominant, and Edmund will pick on that instantly.

God almighty it’s Liam’s time. I’m sorry, apparently I always comment on Liam in some way when it’s his turn??? I’ve never noticed...

Heartslabyul is a no. No one there is interesting for him, but he’ll talk to everyone just to make sure they’re boring. Trey’s cooking skills are very nice though, he might get some tips and share his own.

Savanaclaw? Hmm... also no. A very boring dorm for him overall, no one catches his eye.

Octavinelle is a yes. Azul is kinda mid, but he’s easy to have deals with, and Liam is smart enough  to twist Azul’s balls in negotiations.  Liam is surprisingly smart about this despite not looking like much. He would enjoy the Leech bros – both Jade and Floyd. They would amuse him greatly. I’d say their (Liam and the Leeches) way of looking at things is similar, although the approach is different, and all of them would feel that.

Kalim doesn’t work for him, but Liam might get slightly interested in Jamil only to dip him later, leaving Jamil all confused lol

Liam would be very into Ortho, both into the story of his creation and their entire Styx thing – even if the technologies are not his specialty and he doesn’t know much about it. But he would find the idea of a resurrection, of having the entire underworld full of blot (and the concept of overblot itself) very fascinating. He’d stick to both Shrouds immediately.

Diasomnia is very cute! They’re mythological creatures, very adorable and remind him of the Nebula College. He might bother Malleus a little though just because he’s so mysterious that it attracts Liam.

Phew, I guess this is it! I know you asked a slightly different thing, but I got carried away – it was fun thinking about everyone’s attitude and relationships even though it’s been two months since I read my own notes about the boys, that’s why I might change my mind in the future about some of the choices I’ve made.
